 Pioneer of change management capability building at RBC, initiated with M & A in 1995; Includes architecting the
RBC guidelines for leaders and developing the ROI model required for program approval.
 Led the design and implementation of a new organizational structure & people development strategy to support
business redesign for RBC Payroll Technologies; The strength of the market leadership and higher productivity,
positioned the business to be soldat a premium. Nominated by the employees and selected by Business Banking
leadership for the RBC Performance Achievement Award for positive leadership impact.
 Led the RBC Leadership Development initiative for key talent & succession across 3 Business Units to build depth &
breadth of top leadership, focusing on vertical development through challenging assignments & coaching.
 Spearheaded creation of a “world class” Sales Leadership role design & development program for over 100
Commercial executives, in collaboration with the Sales Executive Board, Washington.
 Collaborated with RBC Ontario business leaders to implement new market structures, role design & talent
development, performance management, and compensation for strategic client roles that helped Ontario achieve
overall market contribution growth of 12% and contribute over 45% of Canadian Banking revenue.
 Led development and launch of the RBC National Canadian Banking Integrated Talent Management program and
decision support tools. Nationwide, 91% of Canadian Banking HR Business Partners gave this program the highest
possible rating in contributing to their effectiveness in talent management & development.
 Led the Payroll Technologies Client Training team to redesign programs, using contemporary adult learning
principles to enhance program effectiveness & their performance as trainers; The following year, an incremental
$300M client revenue was generated & an estimated $1MM was saved in related client service calls.
 Led team accountable for ‘Client Industry Specialization Strategy’ enablement, contributing to superior revenue growth,
higher client ratings, & engagement ratings in the top quartile of High Performing North American Companies . Including:
New role design; Development of 6 toolkits & key role foundational learning programs to build expertise of relationship
managers; Co-design of a new Sales and Market Planning approach including assessment ofthe market opportunity by
industry and building of client alignment resources for optimal client management.
 Accountable for the design & approval of a new B2B Client Relationship & Sales Leadership model, competencies
and development as a key requirement for the Commercial Financial Services business transformation.
 Strong recommendations from leaders advised & coached for over 20 years, including recent work with leaders to
become transformational, authentic leaders; going from purpose to impact; resilience & agility; developing
leadership brand & presence; and entrepreneurship.
Strategic Change Leadership
 Provided strategic oversight for the successful integration of a $400 million business acquisition and coached key
executives during the planning and early stages.
 Led the Sales Strategy team during initiation of a business transformation,designed to create a differentiated and superior
client experience, delivered through the most engaged team of professionals.Accountable for the sales strategy, impacting
almost 3000 relationship managers and leaders, including role and market design; performance management;
compensation design; and accountability for the $8Million annual investment in new learning design.
 Led the RBC Human Resources team in Ontario, responsible for advising 4 Regional Presidents and their senior
leadership teams on talent management and strategic change during the RBC “Client First “ CEO sponsored
transformation. Accountable for a new national talent management approach & analytics, implemented for role succession
and talent development in key segments and for top talent.
 Architected & managed the national change management strategy for a RBC Business Banking Transformation:
Established balanced scorecard, SLA, communication plan, cross-country change integration leads, and the
leadership development to ensure successful implementation: Business Banking significantly improved business
performance, accounting for almost 33% of the RBC Canadian Banking net income, a 21% increase in 2 years.
 Led negotiations of the employee components for the sale of Payroll Technologies business, introducing the
concept of “Total Rewards” as the strategy for transitioning a committed work force, with over 90% of the
professionals joining ADP. This was a key requirement of the deal, increasing the value by almost $10 million,
ensuring the employment of 550 payroll professionals, and the continued high calibre service to over 16000
business clients.
 Planned and managed leadership preparation and stakeholder communications for the sale & transition of a
business. Received the International Association of Business Communicators’ “Award of Excellence”.
 Accountable for the RBC Business Banking strategy for client sales and service network decisions during RBC-BMO
merger discussions.
Business Innovation & Growth
 Start-up of own business, profitable in first year with accelerating growth through innovative offerings and strong
referrals from clients.
 Led a team of entrepreneurial thought leaders and skilled program managers to commercialize eBusiness innovations .
Assessed &shaped over25 innovations; Managed the portfolio of alliances with original RBC investment value of close
to $40 Million. Secured premiums on 2 of 3 investment divestitures during a difficult market. In 2011, anothermarket
leader acquired one of the original start-ups for US $465 Million.
 Collaborated with various RBC Business Groups and Strategic Ventures Fund to assess & develop innovations with
global technology & business partners for “the way business will be done 3-5 years in the future”.
 Greenfield role in securing the right people, capital, and sponsorship for the RBC eCommerce business unit and in
defining strategy and goals. Team goals achieved include tripling RBC online customers to 1 Millionin 18 months,
and establishing the eCommerce alliance group that developed new businesses with external partners.
 Led customer-centric strategy for data aggregation and online account authentication for RBC; RBC was the first
globally, to offer clients “My View” hub to manage their finances. Collaborated with external technology and
business partners, leading negotiation of equity and operating agreements to create this service.
 Initiated & Co-Chaired the Canadian Financial Services Industry Group to develop a new secure and trusted online
exchange for customer initiated authentication and online data and money movement.
 Led development of the framework for Business client value propositions and channel choices for emerging
business models.
