Working Title: Qing Dynasty
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
My audience is 16-19 for both genders. For my audience to like my product, I will use different
colours such as yellow, red, oranges and purples etc. My advergame would appeal to this game
because they will think it’s colourful and that’s there lots to do. It will not be a complicated unless I
get the chance to make a complicated level without confusing myself.
The psychographic for my work is emulator. This is because this group likes to attract the opposite
gender by impressing them by becoming more successful and becoming achievers. This audience
will appeal to the fact that they think they are winning and getting further in the game. I will make
the first level easy so then they think they can do this.
The social status for my advergame is C2DE. This means anyone can play this game that is skilled
working class, working class and those at the lowest levels of subsistence. I have picked out this
social status because I think it is appropriate for my advergame.
(Who is your audience?
Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc.
Use the Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Discuss each audience element in relation to content)
(Why would your product appeal to the age group?)
(Why would your product appeal to the gender? Etc.)
Rationale: (approx. 100 words)
Some skills and knowledge I have picked up from Photoshop that will apply to my advergame will
be the timeline tool which will help me animate my game into as many layers I need to. Another
skill is using the different colours to make my advergame more interesting and to make it look
more eventful. The shape tool and shift will help me with different shapes I’ll be needing for my
options page to draw boxes or I could use the brush tool to draw out to box to whatever size I want
it. This way I can use alternate colours.
(Review your progress throughout the year -
What video game and Photoshop skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How will you use those skills?
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?)
Project Concept: (approx. 200 words)
I have done some of my research and I have looked at different 2D games as this is part of the
brief. This has helped as I have taken different aspects from different games. There were side-
scrolling games such as Super Mario and other game such as PacMan. When I did my
experiment, I did a match game. This made me want to a match game for my final product. Then I
started looking at different match games when I was doing my experiment. I saw the game Mah-
jong which is a solitaire matching game that uses a set of mah-jong tiles instead of cards.
The game I will be producing is similar to Mah-jong; I have not come up with a name for the name
yet. I have decided that the different tiles will have the horoscopes on it. On my initial plans, I have
showed what kind of colours I will be using. I have chosen them colours as they will make the
game look eventful, meaning it will make it look like there is a lot happening. The game will have a
timer on it but it show you how long you are taking on the game instead of counting down.
(What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project)

Evaluation: (approx. 50 words)
I will evaluate my work by comparing it to a different game. This will show the differences and the
similarities between the games. Also, when I started to do my experiment game, I evaluated that
by doing production reflections, which will show you, what I have done and what tools I have used
on Photoshop. At the end, of completing all my work, I will start to evaluate my work. In this I will
be talking about the research I conducted, the planning I did for my advergame, how I managed
my time throughout the whole process of my production. Some of the technical qualities about the
game, how the game looks and finally the audience appeal for my game.
How do you plan to evaluate the work?
Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production Reflections) and your final self-reflection
(Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?)
