3. Software & working at home
During this project I will be using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign which I have used both before and haven’t broken
down on me unless I use an older version of either of the software.This only happens when we move rooms, So I’ll just have to
be careful. However, in case either of the software’s break down on me I will have make sure that my work has been saved
beforehand so then I can access it when I move onto a different computer.
Another option is to use the library facilities. This way I can also use the books and magazines for any more inspirations or
help.This will effect my whole project as these are the software’s I will be using throughout.
Personally, working at home is very hard as there are many distractions so coming into college is very helpful. However, it is
just the travel of getting to college which can be difficult. In the past, I have come into college to do work and got loads of it
done too.
This won’t effect me as much unless I don’t get all my work finished in lesson. If it comes to me having to come into college
then I will do to finish work.

5. Back up models & weather/equipment/location
Firstly, I have already had issues with models.
I asked my cousin the other week, however a few days ago she messaged me saying that she won’t do it. Another option I have is to
have a look online at models that possibly just want a folder with the pictures in return or the next option is asking whether either
the music or the performing arts department to see if anyone is willing me to photograph them.
Starting from today, I will start to find people that are willing to let me use them for my project. Also, I will have another model, just
in case anything happens.This will have the biggest effect on my work as I will not have a model to be on front cover, double page
spread, photography portfolio or anything else.
Secondly, the weather is very unpredictable so I have got to make sure I pick a day where the outfit the model is wearing will not
get ruined or soaked.
Next is the camera, for this I will have someone by my side with an umbrella in case the rain pours it down. Or get it in the bag
straight away unless the photo looks good.
When I come up my location I will up with another location just as you never know what might happen.The location will have to be
safe for all of us to walk on and suitable for our footwear and outfits. If the location isn’t the right one then this could be a big issue,
however I will have a few back up areas that I could use.

6. Health & Safety

to the right position for it to support your back
By using the mouse in an uncomfortable way,
your Arm and wrist might start to ache
To not let this happen, make sure there is
enough space between keyboard and desk
When looking at the computer for a while, it is
possible to start getting a headache
You can tilt the screen for a comfortable head

After a while, your legs might start cramping or
needing a walk
If your feet do not reach the floor, then a
footrest will make you feel more at ease
There may not be enough room under the desk You should make space for postural changes
which means there should be no objects under
the desk
If you don’t have a footrest, this may mean you
can’t see the screen
The best thing to do is adjust your seat height

7. What I need to organise?

8. Aperture & aperture depth of field
I had a look at the aperture of the camera.
What I learnt was the higher the number the
smaller the aperture.This helped me before I
started taking the photos so I knew how much
light I wanted to come through.
Aperture is where the light travels through.
Another thing I looked at was aperture depth of field. This
image is showing the larger aperture is blurry and the
lower aperture shows a clear image.
This will help with my production depending on whether I
want the background to be blurry or to be none blurry.
However, both still makes the subject the main focus.

9. EXPERIMENT ONE

14. Experiment One
This was my first experiment using one of my mates. I just wanted to see what the photos would look like in the sun.
In one of photos, you shouldn't wear a green jumper and then go stand outside in the greenery. On the third slide,
you can clearly tell the difference between the images. One has too much sun and the exposure on the other one is
too dark.
On the first slide, I think the images are the best as they look more natural and the lighting and exposure is good.
The sun shines on Hannah’s face. I asked Hannah to strike a pose near the tree because I liked how the sun was
behind. I took these images at college and turned out to be alright. It did make me think about the location and
different poses. I was thinking if the model leaned against a wall or even a tree that it would look quite good.
The reason I conducted this first experiment was to get used to using the camera and to make sure the exposure was
accurate otherwise the image wouldn’t look good.This has taught me some more skills on how to use the camera,
especially with the dial and settings.
From this experiment, I have learnt to make sure there isn’t too much sun is the way when taking photos.This means
I need to make sure the model is in the right position or there is something blocking the way of the sun so you can
still get the shine.This will have an influence on my project as I will need to know I want the model to be standing
and making sure they isn’t anything blocking her way and to make sure that her outfit doesn't clash with the scenery.

15. EXPERIMENTTWO

When I booked the camera this time, I fancied photography in the evening just before it was going to get dark. I
wanted to see what the photographs would look like with grey skies. It proved to be quite nice except the fact that
the images were blurry.This was because it was in manual focus and I needed it to be in auto focus.There are some
of the images that are either quite dark or really bright.This shows that the exposure was either too high or low.This
experiment was to start getting used to camera so I don’t mess up on my actual production. I have already booked
the camera out again.This time I know what to do instead so then the images do not look like the ones above.
I have shown three images but in different exposures so you can see the difference.
The first experiment was just in college, the photos I took them were not bad for a first start. My second experiment
got worse as the images are blurry or too bright or too dark. For my next experiment, I will take the photographs
elsewhere so I have a different location. I will also make sure the camera is in auto focus so then the images don’t
come out blurry. I was lucky that this happened before the photoshoot otherwise I would have been stuffed. I have
definitely learnt my lesson and this will help me improvement on my photography skills.
From this experiment, I have learnt to make sure the camera is in auto focus as it was in manual focus and I didn’t
realise.This will affect my project if the camera is focused properly so I need to check the camera to make sure it’s in
the right settings. This is will influence my project because the photos could turn out badly if the camera isn’t
accurate.

I remembered that the posters were going to be needing signing. So the
above slide, is testing out different kinds of signatures. For this I used the
graphic tablet for the first time. It was very interesting to use as I’ve never
used it before. It was very sensitive. Some of the signatures don’t look as
some of the others, however, the signature on this slide looked the best
and suited the name.
From this experiment, I have learnt how to use the graphic tablet which I
haven’t used before.This will influence my project as I will be looking for a
font similar to this one as I want a handwritten font to make it look a
signature.

23. EXPERIMENT FOUR

26. Experiment Four
I wanted to do one more experiment before the holidays, so I used Hannah and college grounds again, just so I
knew the camera better. I have picked a few images above, both portrait and landscape. In my other experiments, I
hadn’t taken any portrait images so I thought I should and they turned out quite alright.
However, the exposure on the second slide is quite high but some of them have the sun shining on Hannah’s face
which looks really good. I think one thing I did realise that I should stop doing is focusing the camera too high above
the subject’s head as all you can see is more sky than her. As I’m wanting the subject to be the main focus, I need to
sort this out.The reason I wanted to go out with the camera again was so I could gather more skills from the
camera and what I’ve learnt this time will help me for my actual production.
From this experiment, I have learnt to make sure the camera is in the right setting for the photo. I think I should
have used the portrait setting because this would have focused on Hannah more. Also, to make sure the exposure
was correct.This will influence my project as I need to make sure the camera focus and exposure is in fit for the
location I will be photographing.

27. PROBLEMS

28. At the start I had a model that was willing to let me photograph her. I started editing this images so then I could
use them for my work. I decided to do another photoshoot with her and she was also willing to do this and we set
a date to meet. However, when I messaged her the next time to say are we still on, she lady said no as she wasn’t
feeling very well.
This was a major issue as I was half way through my production and didn’t have anything to do.This was stressing
me out a little bit considering I only had 3 weeks left of production.
In the last two weeks of production, I asked the lady if she was okay with me using someone else as model and
she was perfectly fine with it. So, I had to put another message out to see who would want to model.This girl I
met on a night out said she will do it. Her name was Mimi. We set a date and I went round and took photographs.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to use some of the locations that I had set because her back garden was pretty.
