Escaper
Audience:
Escaper is a very unisex game. My product will appeal to this gender as there are no
stereotypical gender colours It is very focused on the younger generation (15-24).
However, it will also appeal to the older generation as many old school games were
around when these were younger. The social status of the audience is C2DE. This means
that the game will be free as the audience is working class, this relates to my product as
anyone can play it! The way how it is free no one has to pay into the game. This will also
create a buzz as it will expand the audience. The psychographic for this group is an
emulator. This relates to my game as the player wants to seem successful and be powerful.
The way which they are defending the planet they will feel like this.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
At the start of the year I had only ever used Photoshop twice. Before when I used
Photoshop my knowledge was very limited. However, now I can use many tools on
Photoshop and make a decent project using that. My skills which I will use on this product
will make my work more developed and very detailed. My Advergame on the past rotation
was based on a maze design where a character collected tiny Irn Bru’s. When the character
would collect the drink bottle, the bottle would disappear. By already designing an
animation Advergame it will impact my project as it won’t take such a long time to finish
this project.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My product is based on an old school genre. My game is rather similar to Space Invaders.
Escaper is when your playable character has to escape the country by fighting the enemies
which are trying to invade your plant. It is set in outer space and the background will be
black to duplicate the other old school games like pacman. . Your objective is to be
undefeated by these enemies and win back your earth. It is a multiplayer game which is
from a 2D perspective. There is two options on this game. There is a Single Player mode,
Multiplayer mode. The research which I will need to conduct is watching many old school
games and seeing which sound effects they use and try make an original sound which
sounds rather similar. I will also look at many other video games to gander at the different
types of colour themes.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
Overall, by keeping my on-going evaluation and my self- reflection, I will remember the
process which I have gone through and will be able to reference this in my final
evaluation. As I analyse my work and how it could have been made better on my on-going
evaluation, I will be able to express how I felt during each step, also what I wanted to
improve and when I improved it.
