1. The proposed puzzle escape game targets male teenagers aged 15-24 and has a C2DE social grade as it will be free-to-play. It aims to be relaxing and enjoyable while also including some violence.
2. The rationale discusses skills learned from a previous advertising game project, including pixel art, animation, and 2D illusion techniques. Additional research on tutorials will be needed to develop this puzzle/escape room concept.
3. The game concept involves escaping a series of 100 puzzle rooms within a time limit to build a profile of the captor and kill them in a first-person shooter finale. It may start as a 2D sidescroller but include first-person elements for puzzles and

Working Title:
Puzzle Escape
Audience:
My audience is going to be more aimed toward Male due to the fact that I have some violence in it
but females can play it too because it is a puzzle game which are not gender specific. The age I
have decided for my audience is teenagers between the ages 15-24, I have chosen this as my
audience because it has some violence so it is not meant for children but also this is the main
audience age range which plays video games. The social grade of the people buying my game is
C2DE and it is at this because I am planning on my game to be free to play. The psychographic for
my game is Needs driven, this group act upon impulse and instinct. This group does not plan and
will respond to messages relating to missing opportunities and impulse buying. My game will not
be geodemographic due to the fact that it is free and anybody can play it. The aim of my game is
too be very relaxing and enjoyable.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
During this year I have made a game before, I have learned how to use Photoshop and draw in
pixels and animate using timelines. I have learned how to make walk cycle animations and to
make videos move more smoothly and I will use these to make my game up too high potential. I
have also learned how to make 2D objects seem more 3D which may come to use for this new
project. My advergame from the earlier project was a side-scroller in which you would run and
knock cans, it was to advertise a product and this will not really affect my game in any way
because I am going for something completely different and new to me this time. Not many skills I
have learned will come to help with this task so I am going to go on YouTube and look up new
tutorials as well as getting help from other sources.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
It will start by waking up in a room which is a bit dim and dull and you here a voice through a
speaker, there is a timer and you have to solve the puzzle in the room in a set time if it runs out its
game over and you die and restart again if not the time is added to the next level. I am going to
create a puzzle game in which you have to escape 100 rooms to get to the end and kill your captor
by using a sniper at a 1st person shooter screen, it saves every 5 levels and you can get a choice
to jump 10 if you kill other prisoners in some rooms. As you continuously go through all of the
levels in the game you build up a character brief of your captor so you have to select the right
person to shoot at the end referencing this into the equation. I am thinking about making it 1st
person but that may be a little to difficult so I will look it up and if it can’t be done I’ll just have to
make it a 2D sidescroller which changes into 1st person when you are doing the puzzles, it will
definitely go to 1st person when you are choosing weather or not to kill a character though.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
For evaluating I plan to write about the processes I went through after every day of production, I
will also write about how I think it looks and any strengths and weaknesses/improvements that I
would make. Another way of evaluating will be my progress diary which I write at the end of every
week about everything I have done and learned in detail and include images as well to reference.
The final part of a project is evaluating, I will self-evaluate the whole project in great detail. This will
help me to improve and make things better when I move on to making another project.
