Working Title:
Currently, my video game will be called ‘Super Soccer Heads’.
Audience:
My video game will be targeted at audiences between the ages of 15 to 24. I came to this
conclusion after taking some information from FIFA 18 whose audience fits a very similar age
band. My game will be targeted to all genders of course, but I will expect more males to play my
game, as video games and football are more popular amongst males. I don’t expect there to be
much divide in social status’ across my game as football is targeted to a wide audience, however if
I had to decide I would say someone from a lower social status as it is free for everyone to play. I
believe my game will most likely be targeted towards Emulators. The reason I believe this is
because my game is very addicting and they want to be the best that they can be, so they will
consistently play my game in order to do so.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Over the past 6 months I have learnt so much across media, including Photoshop and video game
skills. When making my previous advergame for an Irn-Bru promotion, I learnt everything I know to
this day as it was my first experience using Adobe Premiere, which is where I applied all my sound
effects and music. However, I had already used Photoshop several times before this, so I felt very
comfortable when creating the visuals for my game, and still do going into my next video game. In
my previous game, you had to complete and obstacle course in a very short period of time (20
seconds) using an Irn-Bru mascot. I think my previous game will help me as both move at a very
fast pace and both use characters.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My concept currently is to have 2 main characters (Previous football players). One will be
controlled by the gamer, whilst the other will be a CPU. The game will be located on a small
football pitch with a stadium located in the background. The objective of my game is to score as
many possible goals as you can whilst also preventing the opposition from scoring (basic football
rules). However, the duration of my game will only be 1 minute long, which will clearly be indicated
with a timer in the middle of the screen. If the score is level at the end of a minute you will have the
option to play golden goal where whoever scores next wins the game. The game will be played
with a regular football ball that will be the size of the player’s heads. I will need to conduct lots of
research before making my game however. This will include taking information from the biggest
current sports games and see what it is that makes them so popular amongst gamers. I will also
look at online game reviews to see what gamers dislike the most about sports games, to ensure
that my game doesn’t include any of these features.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will evaluate my work by conducting my information through an on-going evaluation. Once I have
gathered this information I will store it in the production reflections PowerPoint and the final Self
Reflection PowerPoint. I will continue to evaluate my work after I have completed my pre
production and final production.
