3. Research
• The strengths of my research are how the game I Researched have
influenced my final product. The games share the same style as they are
all side scroller games. Two of the three are RPG’s, and Donkey Kong is
just a multiplayer/single player side scroller.
• They influenced my game as my game is a RPG (Role playing game) with
similar character creations and and battle scenes.
4. Planning
• The strengths in my planning were how detailed my planning was. My
mind map content is very detailed with its complex descriptionsI My mind
map describes games which inspired me, Character Designs and the game
mechanics.
• However I feel like my mood boards could’ve been annotated better. The
planning helped with my final product as it gave me a rough idea on the
creation of the characters and the monsters. The only weakness of my
planning is the fact I didn't’t annotate the mood boards which would’t
have had any impact on my final product.
5. Time Management
• Personally I don’t think I managed my time well as I did a lot of my work
to home in my spare time. Not because I couldn't do it at college but
because I want to improve it a lot more. I Would’ve Improved my final
product by adding more sounds and music to the video. I would’ve also
liked to have improved my production experiment by actually animating
the ghost game.
• If I hade more time to produce my work I would liked to have completely
animate my ghost game for my production experiment.
6. Technical Qualities
The action bars are very similar to the
ones in Final fantasy. As you can see
the layout is the same. Both games
contain 2D character models and
backgrounds with bright colours and
easily distinguished monsters.
The difference between the
two games is that I have my
monsters health at the top left
whilst in final fantasy its in the
bottom left. Another
difference between the two
games is that you’re able to
see the players and monsters
health with a bar, compared to
Final Fantasy as where you can
only see the players health by
numbers and the monsters
health not at all.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
Yes I strongly believe that I think my work looks good; my work also looks creative too.
Personally I like the characters an the background design if the fight scene. I also like how to the
game also shares similar styles to final fantasy. If I could improve anything I think I would to fix
the animation as the computer didn’t have enough space to allow me to finish. I would also
like to maybe add another background to the game.
8. Audience Appeal
Personally I believe that I have successfully managed to appeal to my target audience. I think I
have done this by making my game fun, have a wide range of characters, colorful and
entertaining. In my questionnaire I discovers that my audience wanted a game with wide
range of characters and make is story based but also have good graphics.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked designs of the characters as they were hand
made by Alex himself.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Could have included some sound effects.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product
• I enjoyed how the art style in very similar to final
fantasy.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• If I could suggest any improvements I would maybe
like to see another background.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– The dark feeling of the main boss and the
background.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– If I could change anything I would suggest a third
party member to the good guys.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I think I agree with most of the audience feedback. I
especially agree with the third party member and another
background.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree that I need any more sounds as I have
plenty of sounds. Anymore would ruin the feel of
the game.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
Based on my peer feedback the things I would change on my products would
probably be another background and a lot more sound effects. I would also like to
complete the animation as I had to cut it short as the computer did not have
enough space to add to finish the whole fight scene.
