This document provides details on the development of ideas and mood boards for a fanzine about Celtic FC. It includes several mood boards covering potential images, fonts, and color schemes to include.
The image mood board includes photos of Celtic Park stadium, kits, boots, and FIFA player ratings to engage different audiences. The font mood board displays options for titles, subtitles and body text that reflect both informal fan designs and Celtic's branding.
The color scheme mood board extracts palettes from Celtic materials to determine official shades of green and off-white for a polished look. Together these mood boards explore diverse inspirations and assets to guide the fanzine's visual identity and appeal to a range of Celtic supporters.
2. Mood Boards:
A range of ideas to take forward in to production. Should include images, colour schemes and font choices. Could include
mock ups and evidence of existing design work which is inspiring you.

• The pre-existing images in the previous slide show an idea of what I could potentially include in my fanzine.
• The first two photos I included were of Celtic Park, Celtic’s stadium. I have added a photo of both aspects of the stadium – empty and full. I will
be including these images because I took inspiration from previous fanzines I studied, such as West Ham United and Newcastle United. I believe
it helps relive your favorite memories, which is why I will be adding it.
• I also added an image of this seasons away kit, which is displayed by Kieran Tierney. I have added this image because I purchased the jersey, so I
can model it for my fanzine. The reason why I am doing this is because it helps promote official merchandise and also helps fans decide whether
it will suit them, especially fans amongst my age.
• The next image I added onto my mood board was a pair of Adidas football boots. The reason I added these was because I currently own these
football boots, so I can apply my own images of them and hopefully use them as a sponsor inside my fanzine.
• The next two images I applied were the front covers of Celtic View, a magazine produced by the official partners of the club. The reason I applied
these is because this is where I took my inspiration from to create a fanzine on Celtic FC, as I have been reading it for the past 4 years. However, I
feel it is too commercialized currently, which is why I want to create a fanzine which includes the fans opinions.
• I also applied 2 images of the crest, one showing a 4 leaf clover and the other showing the actual badge. The reason I included these two images
is because either one will be used as my logo on my fanzine. I would like to use the official crest but I am concerned about copy rights, so if that
is a problem I will use a regular 4 leaf clover, as it is still very important to the club.
• The final image I added was Celtic, FIFA 19. The reason I added this photo is because FIFA 19 have just recently added the Celtic ratings which are
very popular amongst not only the fans, but the players also. I would like to apply images of the player ratings because it very much interests me,
and it would hopefully promote my fanzine to a wider audience as people amongst my age are not interested in magazines and fanzines, but
they are mostly interested in FIFA.
• Overall I believe the images I have included show a great resemblance on what images my magazine will include. This is because I will be using
the same props and locations, but they’ll be taken through me instead of including pre-existing images, as this could cause copyright issues.

• The next mood board created consisted on different fonts I could potentially use throughout my fanzine.
• The first font I included could potentially be used throughout my titles and sub titles. The reason I included this font is because it looks
very informal and approachable to football fans, nothing too fancy. I could also use this font because it has been used throughout several
different football homemade magazines and posters. This will help indicate that I have produced a fanzine, not an official magazine.
• The next font I could potentially include is the ‘Irish Uncialfabeca’. I would like to use this font is because it resembles very closely to the
font used on the Celtic View, a magazine produced officially by the club. I believe they use this font as it’s Irish, who link very closely to
Celtic with their support and history. So I would also be happy to use this font for the same reason.
• The final font I could potentially use for my fanzine titles and subtitles is ‘Cabaret’. I would like to use this font because it is very simple,
but also very elegant and can often be seen throughout professional magazines. However, it depends if I want my fanzine to be presented
in this format, or a casual format, which would use the previous fonts.
• The next 3 fonts I could potentially use will be included throughout my articles and text. These include Helvetica, Frutiger and Futura.
Overall I believe each font looks fairly similar but I will decide which font I want to used once I have completed my article. But the reason
why I included these fonts are because they’re very basic and easily displayed, however if I applied a font that I previously showed for my
title/subtitle I believe it would make it too hard to read and it would look quite chaotic.
• Overall I am very happy with the fonts I have included, as I believe I have a wide variety of great designs to pick from. I believe each font
has a close meaning to the magazine I have created so whichever font I decide to use should look brilliant in the final outcome.

• The final mood board I created was my color schemes, which included a variety of colors I could potentially use throughout my fanzine.
• Each color scheme was taken from pre existing Celtic images, where it exported all the colors running throughout the image. I used
Adobe color CC to obtain my results.
• The first color scheme I included shows different shades of green and also some turquoise and black. I do not believe I will be using any
of the shades presented besides the black, because they don’t associate with Celtic. I believe most of the colors were obtained from
the background of the image I used, not the content on Celtic.
• The second color scheme I included includes 2 shades of green and 2 white. For this color scheme I used an image of the Celtic badge,
which shows no surprise throughout my results. I am almost certain I will be using these colors throughout my fanzine because they’re
the official colors running throughout the badge. I will also use these colors because green indicates nature, whilst the 4 leaf clover
inside our badge also indicates nature. This is a very important factor as nature equals growth and the club is slowing growing bigger
and bigger worldwide.
• The final color scheme I included was from an official poster the club produced last season. I included this image because I thought the
colors worked very well together and I wanted to know exactly what was used. The final image shows these results, and I believe I will
use a variety of these colors throughout my fanzine. The 3rd shade (black) I previously mentioned I would already use for my articles
text, however I will also use the second color (dark shade of green) throughout the inside of my fanzine as I believe it looks stylish and
smart and is also very similar to the green used in this seasons away kit.
• Overall I am very happy with the color schemes I have produced on my mood board as it has given me a clear indication of what colors
are used throughout pre existing Celtic magazines and posters. I am also very happy as it has helped me decide what colors I will and
won’t be using inside my fanzine.

The image I will include on my cover is me presenting the
2018/19 away kit. I would like to apply this because it
won’t cover the entire page and leaves room for me to
apply other features.
I will include a logo in the left corner of my
fanzine cover, which will show a 4 leaf
clover. I would like to apply this because it
resembles the clover inside the official Celtic
badge. It is also a sign of good luck so this
will hopefully work on match days!
The text on the bottom of my
fanzine cover will give the
audience an insight on what
content it includes
The Title will be placed in the
center of my fanzine and will be
fairly large. It will also be
presented in a green font to
symbolize Celtics colors.
Background BackgroundMy background will be white, with
blocks of Green scattered across
the page. I believe this works
better than splitting the colors
even as they're too diverse for a
fanzine cover

My first page will include European
content – which will be indicated in
my sub title.
I am going to place my image in the
left corner of my page. I want to
add it here because it will link
together with the article but will
always be located in the corner of
the viewers eye.
Here I will place my article talking
about this seasons European
football. It will be very detailed as
Celtic have already played 9
matches in the build up. The
reason why I would like to do this
is because it's a hot topic amongst
Celtic fans this seasons as it's the
first time we haven't qualified for
the champions league in 3 years.

Both images will include the 2018/19
away kit. I will model the kit from several
different perspectives and apply them
into this page inside my fanzine. I want to
apply these images because because it
helps promote the the club financially if
people decide to buy the jersey through
my promotion. Also it is a very smart
jersey and I believe the photos will work
perfectly in my fanzine.
My article will talk about all the features that have
been included inside the jersey. It will also talk about
the message behind it. I will be applying this
information because it is important that fans know all
the features it includes before purchasing, as it is
harder to visualize on retail websites quite often.

FC supporter. I will be interviewing this
football fan to receive a neutral and
honest answer on my questions about
Celtic and the Scottish Premier league.
The images will be taken throughout the
interview of both me and the fan I will be
interviewing. This will show evidence for the
interview and will also add more character to the
page.
Title will refer to the interview.

The next article will talk about the Celtic
academy. This helps fans receive an insight
on what's happening outside the 90
minutes the first team play. I would like to
apply this article because there is lots of
young talented players who could play
first team football very soon.
The images will show a range of

action. This will link together with
the players mentioned throughout
the article.

In this article, I will talk about
former Celtic players and
whereabouts they are currently
playing. Players can often move
between 3-4 clubs after leaving
and I believe it is very interesting
to see where they are currently
located in their career.
Images will include players at their
current club or possibly an image
of them previously playing for
Celtic, to help the fans remember a
little easier!

The next page inside my fanzine
will look at Celtic supporters
response to the start of our new
season on Twitter. I would like to
apply this because in other
fanzines I have analyzed they often
refer to the supporters opinion –
so what better way to do it.
Images will include screenshots
from social media of the funniest
tweets I can find whilst looking. I
will hopefully make a collage of
screenshots.
The heading will refer to the
content which is included, so for
this page it will refer to social
media.
