3. Research
• Strengths:
– The research PowerPoint I collected ideas of existing products to give me ideas
to what mine could look like when coming to it.
– My researched helped me with my product because it put ideas in my head
which helped when it came to doing my product. Also by doing the
questionnaires it helped me get more ideas and what other people liked about
it.
• Weaknesses:
– The weaknesses for the research PowerPoint is that it took a while to find
pictures that were similar to mine, which is minimalist so I found that it took
most of the time looking for a the magazine that was like mine.
4. Planning
• Strengths:
– I think that when doing the mind maps for thinking of what we could do was a
good strength as it made you think of what might challenge you with
something you might of thought you couldn’t do or do something that you
were interested in which helped when coming to do my final products which
were; magazine, poster and a invitation.
– I liked that we could find inspiration in finding photos online so we could
imagine what mine would look similar.
• Weaknesses
– I think the weaknesses for the planning were when thinking of the ideas for
the products we wanted to do, it can take a while to think of the ideas or for it
to fit what you could do, making sure you can do it and have the equipment.
– It took a while to find the pictures that fitted to what I wanted to go with for
my products.
5. Time Management
• Strengths:
– The strengths for time management is good because you get to plan what and
when you want to do all the things you want to do for the product.
– You get to organize equipment or models etc, which is good so you are prepared
also if you have a model in mind to help you out its good to ask them in advance to
see if they’re free.
• Weaknesses
– The weaknesses for time management is that something’s may go wrong and
might need to change your plan for example for me I had a model in mind but she
didn’t have time to come over so I had to ask someone else last minute which
slowed me down when coming to edit the picture.
How I would improve it next time is asking a couple of models just in case one
can’t do It, I will be able to to get help from someone else in time.
I think that I managed my time well as I got it all done in time the only thing I wish I
edited the picture of my model a little bit more as it looks like I just placed it there
making it not really fit with cover so well.
If I had more time to produce my work is thinking of more to add to my poster as its
very plain and also editing the magazine photo of the model more.
6. Technical Qualities
With my magazine its similar to the
other two as its got neutral colours
for example my background it’s
grey just like the Kendall Jenner
magazine also I have a bit of pink
which is similar with the POPSTAR
magazine I did this because I liked
the two colours together along with
it bring more dimension to it than it
just being one plain colour
background. Another thing that is
similar is the limited text on them
making it minimalist which is what I
wanted.
The differences between mine and the other two are the
layouts with Kendall’s its her on the whole page where mine
is just in the middle and isn’t as big as hers. With the
POPSTAR one again the picture is bigger than mine and is in
black and white which mine isn't.
7. Technical Qualities
The similarities are with the top picture
there's a picture of a women and the bit
where's it’s drawn it gave me the idea of a
silhouette, I would say this is similar
because it’s black and white which my
silhouette is as well.
The difference is that the top picture is a real
person in it were mine is a silhouette and has
writing with it where with the other one it has
no writing along with it.
I think that it’s different towards other
posters as it’s a silhouette than a person and
is simple where with other posters its
covered with images and colour and I
wanted mine to be simple but still creative.
8. Technical Qualities
The similarities are that they both have a
pink background and a silhouette of a
women wearing a dress. It also has details on
their to make it more eye catching when
looking at it with mine it has stars in the top
right side making it look nice and inviting to
the place because it’s nice and with the
other invitation is has pink dots going down
on the right side making it more interesting
to look at.
The differences are that I have a grey rectangle to
mine as well as some shaped to mine where to dots
are making the silhouette stand out more where with
the other one it hasn’t got that making them
different.
9. Aesthetic Qualities
The strengths towards it is that it shows
my ideas on how I wanted it to look like
which shows people what I like all my
products to be like with the pop of colour
against the neutral colours also with the
minimalist with it showing that I tried to
go with something different.
I think that my work looks alright
because its what i wanted it to
look like by it being minimalist
with neutral colours also with
pastels as well to give it a pop of
colour to it with all the products
I’ve created; magazine, poster
and invitation.
I would say my work is kind
of creative for example for
the magazine cover it’s
creative by how its different
to other magazines as they’re
quite packed with text all
different sizes all over it so by
mine having less stuff on it, it
makes it more creative and
different.
The weaknesses is that it
was hard to think of
something else to do with
the poster as a poster and
a magazine are very
similar but I wanted it to
be different so it took a
while to think of the one I
made, I also feel that its
very simple and not a lot
on it.
I would improve my
poster more than the
others as the poster
is very plain against
the other two as it
was hard to think of
things to add.
I would also edit the
picture of the model
more to make it look
like it’s apart of the
cover.
10. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my audience by naming my products STYLE which my
audience voted for, also with the pastel colours I have added them too my
products so my audience are interested in it than doing something that they
weren’t interested in.
I have made sure that my model is in the
age group that the audience was so the
people who likes my questionnaire are
interested in my product as they’re similar
age.
I’ve also went with fashion which the audience
wanted as well, so by me doing this it will
attract my audience more by me following
what they like and want which will make my
products appeal to them more.
