2. 3. What are the shopping and lifestyle
habits of your reader?
• My target audience was teenagers in the age
range of 13 to 20 and will be a mix of both male
and females I did not intend to make the
magazine appeal to one gender over the other.
Rock music is not generally main stream music
and therefore my magazine needed to appeal to
people who enjoy that type of music and look
good.my magazines target audience was easy to
stick to because I am typically my own target
audience.

4. 3. What are the shopping and lifestyle
habits of your reader?
• My target audience is aimed at teenagers
because of this I think they are more likely to
purchase things in less expensive shops to get
more for their money for example shops like
Primark, H&M, new look and top shop.
• The clothing I think my target audience are likely
to wear/buy would be dark colours, skinny jeans
and wear a lot of Band/artist merchandise.

5. 5. How did you attract/address your
audience?
teenagers
13-21
I included alternative
ways to view the
magazine for example
apps and a website
I used popular bands
and artists to appeal
to the audience.
I used the colours
red,white and black to
appeal to the
audience as ithey are
not dull colours.
I used colloquial
language to appeal
to my audience and
make the magazine
less formal.
I used attractive
headlines to
appeal to my
audience and
make them want
to read my
magazine.
6. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
• I learnt to use lots of different technologies in creating my
magazine as I had never used Photoshop or adobe InDesign before.
When creating my magazine I had to take a lot of photos obviously
I have had experience in using a camera although when creating
my magazine I had to think about lighting, camera shots and angles
I also had to think about the positioning of the model and what
images would work best in my magazine. The camera I used gave
high quality photos and therefore I did not have to edit my images
that much. I also used blogger for the first time to upload my
research ideas I found blogger very easy to use and picked it up
quickly I think blogger is a good way to display work and will use it
in the future. I also used the online presentation programmes slide
share and Prezi presentation.
7. Question 7
How do the mast heads of your final product differ to the school magazine pre lim
exercise? What fonts effects and layout have you used and why?
•
• This is my preliminary task it is not very professional and
does not look very effective due to the limitations of
Microsoft publisher. Compared to my final mast head
you can see a lot of improvement the mast head
‘sabotage’ was made in photo shop and is very bold and
eye-catching which is exactly what I wanted it to be. The
layout of it on my magazine places it at the top of the
page and fills the space allowing sabotage to be one of
the main focuses of the page which is good as it allows
the audience to know the name of my magazine and
establish brand identity.
8. How do the photos on your final product differ to the
school magazine (pre-lim task)?
• My school magazine preliminary task looks very unprofessional compared to
my final product ‘sabotage’. The main image on my school magazine is not
very clear and the light is not very good as the natural light of the sun makes
the models faces not very clear. The main image on ‘sabotage’ uses a better
quality camera and allows the photo to be a lot clearer and is therefore
more effective. Also the photo uses props and makes it more interesting the
photo also links to the cover lines.
I think the photos on my ‘sabotage contents’ are allot better as they address
the audience more and the layout of the page is more interesting to look at
also the image is a better quality due to the camera used unlike the photos
taken on the pre lim task which were taken using a mobile phone camera.
Although my pre lim task uses conventions of a magazine it does not look
very professional.
•
9. 4. How do the cover lines/sell lines of your final product differ to the school magazine?
What fonts effects and layouts have you used and why?
• My cover lines have changed a lot since my pre lim task the fonts look
much more professional I used san serif fonts on both tasks as I liked the
smooth font. Although on my final product I used effects like shadow
which put a white outline round my font.
• Another thing I kept the same was the use of capital letters as I think this
makes the text stand out and look better.
• The text on my puff of the sabotage magazine is bolder and clearer to read
from my pre lim task I learnt that the most important thing is that the text
is clear and easy to see.
•
• The text on my preliminary task is plain and not very professional it is not
very interesting to look out as the colours and layout are boring. For my
contents page for my final product i tried to break up the page and use
different coloured text for different sections making the page not look so
plain .
