2. Popular Conventions of an Indie Music
Digipak
As Indie music is alternative , most digipaks are designed for the genre
follow this theme
They tend not to feature the band , and instead have pictures and colours
which help the digipak stand out
An example of this would be ‘Mylo Xyloto’, by Coldplay, which uses a range of graffiti
style designs throughout their digipak
Generally, if the band is featured on the cover, it is likely that they will not be
in there true form, and instead either animated or in the form of a cartoon.
Some digipaks only feature the title of the band on the cover, with no specific
title of the album,
For example Blink 182’s album titled ‘Blink 182’, or Kasabian’s album titled ‘Kasabian’
Usually, text is not written in a plain dull font, but instead quite an individual
text font is often employed
