2. I decided to get my model too
wear a cardigan during some of
the photos of my first photo
shoot. The main reason for this
is that cardigans are now
considered a part of ‘indie
culture’. Generally, peoples
musical taste is reflected by
the clothes that they wear, and
cardigans are often worn my
musicians in the industry, and
thus this will reflect the genre
of my magazine.
3. I also decided to ask my model
to wear chinos. Again, chinos
have recently become a huge
part of indie culture. They,
along with skinny jeans, are
perhaps the two items of
clothing which are most
representative of indie
Clothing. They have only
become popular over the last
few years, and are quickly
becoming more and more
popular within the younger
generation
4. Vans are also a key part of indie culture. Now regularly considered to be a part of
the rock image, they have quickly grown in popularity through the increase in
popularity of the indie genre. Often, even if a fan of indie music is not
wearing vans, they will be wearing a pair of shoes that are available with
vans, for example, plain canvas shoes or boat shoes. As is with converses, they
are considered more ‘trendy’ if they are slightly worn out, as this is associated
with the whole indie look.
5. For my first photo shoot I chose to have a purely naturalistic setting. I have
done this because it relates to the genre of my magazine. Often a real
life setting such as a park is considered to be relaxing, and that is the
theme I plan to keep with my magazine. In addition, a park could be
related to a festival scene, which is something that I will be trying to
emphasise in my double page spread, and throughout the magazine.
