This document discusses research on Digipaks. A Digipak is a style of CD, DVD, or BD packaging that consists of a gatefold paperboard outer binding with one or more plastic trays inside to hold a disc. The document compares the Digipaks of bands All Time Low, One Direction, and Boys Like Girls to show how different music genres represent themselves with varying color schemes, images, and designs in their Digipak packaging. Key elements like the title, main image, and barcode are also identified as codes and conventions commonly found across Digipaks.
2. What is a Digipak?
Digipak is a patented style
of CD, DVD or BD packaging, and is a
registered trademark of AGI-Shorewood, an Atlas
Holdings LLC company. Digipaks typically consist of
a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock
outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable
of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside.
