This document discusses the production techniques used for various graphic design, radio, and game design projects. It outlines both the advantages and disadvantages of tools like Photoshop and Premiere Pro. It also provides comparisons of the author's work to other examples, noting areas for improvement. Reflections recognize the need for better time management, and deeper understanding of design software and skills.
4. Graphic Design Production
• Advantages of working in Photoshop
-It’s the industry standard
-It is relatively easy to understand when
compared to other, similar software.
• Disadvantages of working in Photoshop
-It’s expensive and most people don’t have
a subscription so it can’t be worked on at home.
5. Graphic Design Production
Similarities Differences
Both feature a bottle of coke
in front of a scenic background
One is in autumn the other is
more summery
Both are lit from behind by
the sun
The official one makes the
bottle more eye catching by
making it more dominant in
the frame
Both use the slogan “open
happiness”
The use of a persons arm and
the insect make the poster
more interesting
Both are fairly boring The unofficial one has social
media tags
6. Graphic Design Production
Key:
Good
Bad
Social media account
information is where
people expect it
Boring design
Good autumnal
colours
2 bottles as Coca-
Cola likes to
present itself as a
drink you
drink/share with
others
Hard to read the
social media text
7. Graphic Design Production
I believe I could have better followed the brieff of “make a poster for 16-19 year olds”
as this poster won't necessarily appeal to them, I personally feel that it is boring and
looks like a screenshot from the end of a video advertisement. If I were to do this
project again, I would pick a more interesting theme to better follow the brief. The
photo is also pixelated due to my inexperience with adobe photoshop, and I
would hope to fix that if I were to try again.
10. Radio Production
• Advantages of working in Premiere Pro
– It allowed me to work quickly.
– It allowed me to cut out bad parts to salvage a
take rather than having to rerecord the whole
thing whenever I forgot a line
• Disadvantages of working in Premiere Pro
– I found the interface confusing at times
– It is can be very technical which makes it harder to
learn.
11. Radio Production
Coke Cola Summer
Ad 2009
Similarities Differences
Both Feature Coca-cola The summer one follows a
completely different them
Both use sound effects based
on the Coca-cola
The addition of music made
the summer one flow better
and feel more upbeat
Both end with a slogan The Summer ad uses two
peoples voices rather than
one
12. Radio Production
I think that I did an alright job on this part of the
project. I managed to get it done pretty quickly
and was able to add sound effects without too
much issue however if I were to repeat this
project I would try to clean up the audio a fair
bit as there is a lot of interference on the final
recording. I would also maybe get other people
to record lines for other characters.

15. Advergame Production
• Advantages of working in Photoshop
– It is the industry standard.
– It is relatively quick and easy to learn
– The animation didn’t much time or effort to make due
to it’s simplicity
• Disadvantages of working in Photoshop
– It’s expensive so many people wont
– You have to know what you are doing as the interface
can be confusing
– You need to make sure what layer you are on to avoid
drawing over other sprites.
16. Advergame Production
Similarities Differences
They both are platformers. Mario has stuff in the
background whereas mine
doesn’t.
The gameplay is similar In Mario powerups are hidden
in blocks.
Both Mario and the character
in the advergame can pick up
a powerup that fires
projectiles
The Advergame has a darker
colour scheme
Both have first levels with at
least one enemy and powerup
Mario is more detailed
17. Advergame Production
Coke can looks like it has
been put in a paint
shaker, If I was doing this
again I would move the
can every 3-5 frames
rather than every frame
to slow it down
Obvious goal
No moving/walking
animation, I could
have made another
layer or two to make
his legs move as he
walks.
Art style
changes from
not outlined
to outlined
for no real
reason.

19. Comparison
• Which product do you believe advertises the
product the best? Why?
I think that the advergame advertises the product
the best. The poster was too boring and the radio
ad, although fun, targets too niche of an audience.
• Which of your products is the most professional?
Why?
I think that the advergame is probably the most
professional although I would say that none of
them are anywhere near being professional quality
20. Reflective Triangle
Write down one key
thing you have learnt
from this project
Write down two
things you would do
differently if you were
to do this project
again and how you
would do that.
Write down three
things you still need
to develop your
understanding on or
skills within.
I learnt how to
animate in
photoshop
I would change the
design of the poster
entirely.
I would spend more
time on art for the
advergame.
I need to get
better at time
management
I still need to
develop my
understanding of
premiere pro
I still need to
develop my
understanding of
photoshop
