3. Graphic Design Experiments
I made this poster at the begging
of the year to refresh my
Photoshop skills, it is simple to
make sure I had a good
understanding of the basics
before moving on to more
ambitus things
4. Graphic Design Production
• Advantages of working in Photoshop
– It is simple and user friendly, and it’s the standard
for edit photos
• Disadvantages of working in Photoshop
– When trying to do things your unfamiliar with it
can go wrong and it has its limits
5. Graphic
Design
Production
Both images include Santa
Claus with a glass bottle of
coke.
the interior design is very
similar with lots of green
and red as well as the
varies Christmas
decorations this creates a
warm Christmas feel to the
images
The second image is quite a bit
older then the other this gives it
a more cartoon feel because of
the contrast between light and
dark colours
6. Graphic
Design
Production
Both images contain a
Christmas tree and
coca cola in some
form, one is an
advertisement for
coca cola where as
the other is a
Christmas tree
covered in coca cola
bottle cap baubles
7. Graphic Design
Production
The bottle in replacement of
the Christmas tree shows the
link between Christmas
And coke, this suggests the
two are synonymous
The tag line
furthers the link
between
Christmas and
coke by saying
“its not
Christmas
without coke ”
The coca cola
logo doesn’t
have capital like
its supposed to
The design for the
images is unique and
original there isn’t
thing like it. Is
“quirkiness” sets it
apart form other
adverts
If I had more time I would expand my photoshop skills to
make the image look less forced and more natural for
example the Santa in the bottom right looks like a
carboard cut out instead of a person, maybe my project
was too ambitus instead maybe I should do something
more realistic and something within my capabilities, I
would be tempted to try this poster again once my skills
have improved to see if I could make look more real
8. Uses the same tag
line as the other
poster
Classic coke
red
background
with white at
the bottom
to make it
look like
snow on the
floor
Bottles hang off
tree branches like
baubles
This poster is an improvement on the last
on in the way its simpler and more realistic
but it still doesn't look real, the tree is
much clearer then the bottles also there is
no sting holding the bottles up. Different
from the last one the coca cola logo in the
corner has capitals making it look more
authentic and the contrast between the
white writing and red background helps it
stand out. This poster is better then the
last one as it looks more professional
because its within my photoshop skills, the
charismas theme is overwork and next
time I might go with a spring or summer
theme
9.
10. Radio Production
• Advantages of working in Premiere Pro
– Its good for editing sound and video
• Disadvantages of working in Premiere Pro
– Can be confusing to use and difficult to get it to do
what you want
11. Radio Production
Official radio adverts are a lot better then mine this
could be due better equipment such as software, more
experience in the industry or a teamworking on the
advert instead of just one person.
I used similar sounds to the official radio adverts
such as the jingle at the end of the advert and
went with a summery feel to the advert like the
coke summer sound advert
If I was to make another radio
would I do more research into the
industry to find better software or
ways of make my audio clearer as
well as
12. Radio Production
• My advert is simple
• It Is similar to other adverts from coca cola
• It is a little bit fast paced and shifts sharply from one
sound to another
• It isn’t clear until the end what it is advertising
• The voice over is un-clear and the other sounds drown
it out
If I was to make another radio I would invest more time into finding sounds
that are clearer and watch some tutorials on premier pro to get a better
understanding of how the software works, its strengths and limitations
13.
14. Video Game Experiments
I made a small animation of two characters
highfiving , it helped understand how animation
works and how to get it fluent and flow properly
instead of looking clunky
This served as a good way to help understand
how to animate in photoshop, how it work and
the frame rate. My final product used the same
assets because I liked the style and overall feel
of it
15. Video Game Production
• Advantages of working in Photoshop
– Its familiar and easy to use
• Disadvantages of working in Photoshop
– It can prohibit it your work significantly
16. Video Game Production
My product is very
different to the official
coca cola one in the
sense that its pixel art
and the other
incorporates real images
like the bottle and the
glass, my skill is not as
good as the professionals
so I was told to use pixel
art because it simpler
wile still looking good
the concept of the two games is very different as well, the official one
has you catch falling ice cubes and lemon slices in a glass of coca cola
and mine is characters drinking coca cola and flying into the sky, the
premise of my game is a lot simpler this could be due to lack of skill or
not enough time as I was given the time scale of one week
17. Video Game Production
I didn’t get as far along as I would have liked to, this is because of lack of time. This means I didn’t get
to add any game aspects to it that I wanted to, the game would have had the characters flying through
space collecting coca cola this final idea is very different from my original idea of jumping over grass
mounds collecting coca cola
If I was to re-visit this again later or do another project like I would slow it down a lot as the final product is
only about 3 seconds long and moves very quick. I would also include every thing I wanted to, the idea was
to ambitious for the time scale I had this ultimately lead it being uncompleted and me being unhappy with
it
18.
19. Comparison
• Which product do you believe advertises the
product the best? Why?
• I think the advergame was the best, it was the one I enjoyed
making and had the most fun with, I would be more likely to
create something like this in the future
• Which of your products is the most
professional? Why? I think the second poster for coca
cola looks the most professional, it looks the most like it could
be actual coca cola poster
20. Reflective Triangle
Write down one key
thing you have learnt
from this project
Write down two
things you would do
differently if you were
to do this project
again and how you
would do that.
Write down three
things you still need
to develop your
understanding on or
skills within.
I learned a lot
about animation,
how it works
I would go
back to add
detail to my
coca cola
I would add
more detail
to my
advergame
Improve my
skills in
premier
I want to improve
my photoshop
skills Improve time
management
