3. Graphic Design Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
It can be simple and easy to use if you know your
basics. Like I now do so I can create a moderate poster.
Benefits is that there are hundreds of tutorials and
demonstrations on the numerous tools and
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
There is multiple, as there is multiple ways and
methods to using the medium, and can be very
confusing and difficult to use and handle.

Both contain the classic coke truck carrying coke to the world.
They both include some coke bottles on the bottom of the poster.
The use of the classic and new red color is transferred as both are
widely popular. The use of the Coca-Cola logo is so people know
the product and makes it easier to recognize what your looking at.
The company uses the logo everywhere, and on pretty much
everything they own. From drinks to merchandise like bottle
openers, tops and caps. Even vintage jukeboxes, fridges, cashiers
and old shop signs. We even have a similar sparkle and white frost
sprinkle under the truck and sleigh. I should have done that with
my poster to make it stand out more and make the truck blend in
better.
5. Graphic Design Production
I chose to use the iconic and
easily recognisable Coca-Cola
logo for Christmas poster.
Plus this style and font goes with
the rest of the poster.
I chose a design of a shadow of
reindeer and sleigh. I think this
is a good design idea as it
relates to most posters and
iconic designs for Christmas
times.
I also used these white snow
trails to represent snow fall as
the sleigh moves. And the
distinctive white colour shows it
representing snow and iconic as
the Coca-Cola posters normally
have a red colour as the
background and white titles
font.
I used the iconic Coca-Cola truck as
it resembles the Christmas holidays
and the classic Coke image.
Everyone who views this poster will
be filled with memories of their
past during Christmas time when
Coke adverts where displayed on
TV.
I went over countless slogans
and short sentences that
would be perfect for a poster
and the Coke-a-cola brand.
And I thought of a few but
ended up with the “celebrate
Christmas with the one you
love” while using the thin and
white font that coke are
known for using in most of
their adverts.
I also included some coke bottles on
the bottom of the poster to show
people what they look like and to fill
in gaps. The original idea was to
make it look like the truck was
unloading crates of coke to fans. But
it doesn’t look that way so that is a
huge weakness.
I also wanted to add some type of
road so it doesn’t look like the truck is
levitating on a red background. I
would of also spaced out the middle
line for the slogan.
6. Radio Production
• Advantages of working in this medium-
The main advantages is that you can manipulate audio files to your liking. So if you only
want a few seconds of an entire music video you can use the razor tool to edit and cut the
rest, so you are left with your wanted file.
The other advantages is that you can add audio to your file so it sounds more natural and
better, you can even learn how to put audio and video files together to create a better
video.
This programme is mainly for audio files and not video but has a wide range of tools for
people to use.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium-
The disadvantages is that there is so many tools and can be tricky sometimes when trying
to select a certain moments or time frames. But if you have finally learnt how to fully and
completely use the software and when they have they might want to do something else to
an audio file but you cant because of the limited tools you are given. And if this is an on
going service where you have to pay like £7.99 a month to the company. Then people
would loose interest and probably just use Sony Vegas. W here they can edit both audio and
video.
7. Radio Production
https://youtu.be/fDoDUC9M0Sg
Using the YouTube link as a representative, these two audio clips are similar as both have an
uplifting jingle and both have the end jingle that is iconic for Christmas ads made by coca cola.
They are both related to Christmas whether it is with visual or audio representation. They both
are catchy and have repetitive tunes as the advert progresses. This was aired on radio during
2006-2007 around the beginning of December.
My audio file is a lot less adapted compared to the coca cola’s ad campaign. But it’s a quick 15
seconds radio ad as I have shortened it down as much as I can.
8. Radio Production
• Strengths
The majority of the strengths was that how simple and easy it was to use the
programme. Because when I used the razor tool I only needed to press on where I
wanted the audio file to be cut from. And then press on the side that I didn’t need
or want so id just simply press delete, and I was left with the part of the file I
wanted. Also the simple use of the play button for the space bar.
• Weaknesses
The weakness was that I didn’t have as much experience with using the
programme. So it took me a while to understand and configure what I was doing.
But I reckon after a few hours you could learn how to use it properly and
professionally. But as I’ve never used it before my work on it wont be perfect.
Other weaknesses is that it was very tricky and not easy and simple to use. Like
when I tried to use the razor it clipped the part I wanted so you have to check
twice to check if the part you wanted is still intact.
9. Video Game Experiments
This is my first time using this format on
Photoshop and its not what I wanted
but its better than nothing. Hopefully as
I progress I will get better and more use
to it. But this has definitely gotten me
used to the tools I must use in order to
finish this unit.
If I can I will try to make my skills more
professional rather then amateur. But until
then I'm not very good at art so pixel art
wont be any easier.. I tried to add colour in
the back just for the sake of it, but little pixel
me doesn’t look very realistic.
I'm not sure if I'm comfortable doing
pixel art as it doesn’t feel like I'm
goanna get any better at it. But I'm
better at making thing in pixel like my
bottles on my cola advergame that’s
easier then trying to make a realistic
person. Cartoon pixels are better to do.
10. Video Game Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
The advantages is that it gets me familiar with the Photoshop tools.
This also opened my eyes as I didn't know that I could do this on PS, I thought
it was just for editing photos but I suppose their is no limit to how creative
you can be.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
People can find this process very frustrating and
time consuming compared to other methods as it can be easy to loose focus
and make a mistake in your work.
I think you need to work really hard and practice a lot in order to perfect this
method of further projects.
12. Video Game Production
At the start I went on google and searched for
pixelated bottles to help me get a decent sized
and looking bottle for my advergame.
I think the design of the coke bottles went well
for my first use of drawing in pixels. They don’t
look perfect compared to others but people say
that its pretty good. I'm really proud of this as
its allowed me to be creative and focused as it
takes a lot of concentration to do this.
If I could I would add details to the background
and make the bottles taller like the real bottles.
And probably add a lot of detail to the coke
machine as all that inspired me was the
chocolate machine from Charlie and the
chocolate factory. But id try to make it more
industrial and mechanical rather than a bowl
and a spout.
I used multiple tools in order to get the best
and most efficient project out on tie Advantages: I think the best thing is the bottles, though their
not perfect they look unique and different compared to
traditional animated bottles. They look similar to duff bottles
from the Simpsons more then coke bottles. And the colours of
the coke looks similar to the colour of duff, this isn’t bad but it
adds a cartoon feel to this advergame.
Disadvantages: should of added more detail in the background
and animation. Coke machine as well should look better. I could
of edited the conveyer belt so it moves with he coke bottles like
in real life but I did not have enough time.
13. Comparison
• Which product do you believe advertises the product the
best? Why?
I'm not sure, I love the advergame and the poster as I think both are good for the coca cola
theme and are at a decent quality. The advergame would be an app where u had to get as
many bottles filled as possible. And if you got a certain amount you would get a coupon for
a free coke. I think this would be vastly superior and more trend able as a lot of people
download apps to play games in their free time. Winning a free bottle coke at the same
time would be make this product popular. Where as the other is the same old way of
advertisement, using a poster might not be very effective. As I think an interactive form of
advertisement would be more popular. The radio ad isn’t very good either so I wouldn’t say
that that would be good or effective.
• Which of your products is the most professional? Why?
I think the poster is most professional as the advergame is more for the younger generation
and more entertaining. where as the poster has been used for hundreds of years in
propaganda and advertisement throughout history. If I finished up my poster and made it
look more clean and professional then that would be the most professional out of these
products.
