Timetable: Mondays from 15:15 to 15:55 and Wednesdays from 16:45 to
17:25
Objectives of the lesson: during this lesson students are expected to:
• Listen and remember the story ‘I wish I had a monster’
• Understand it in order to solve different activities and describe the
monster
• Recognize ‘Geometric Shapes’ and work with them in order to make
a review.
• Play and produce sentences with the shapes and the 4 adjectives
learned.
Routines: Greeting and Praying (2’)
Activity 1 (3‘) as students weren’t able to correct the last activity during
the class on Monday (read and match) we are going to check them at the
beginning of the class.

With the help of her pedagogical partner, the trainee will read again the
story “I wish I had a monster” in order to make a general review of it so

Macro skills: reading comprehension & writing
The trainee will give the students a photocopy with some vignettes
representing the different stages of the story. Students will have to put
them in order.

Macro skills: writing and speaking
Following the order of the story, students will have to write the monster’s
description. This activity will be checked orally so students will be able to
read their productions too.
e.g: Vignette nº4: “the monster has got a big head and two small eyes”
Students will have to do the same with vignettes nº6 - 8 and 10
(The monster has got: a big mouth - big yellow teeth – eight long blue legs
– lots of red spots)

Macro skills: Reading Comprehension-Writing
Students are going to do an activity in a photocopy provided by the
trainee in order to make a review on ‘Geometric Shapes’. They will have to
trace the geometric shapes
and then color the figures that are
required.

Activity nº5 (10‘)
Macro skills: TPR-Speaking
Memory Game: the trainee will put flashcards with the geometric shapes
on the blackboard and students will have to find the pairs. Then, they will
have to produce a sentence using the different adjectives and the shapes
e.g. “two big circles” – “two long rectangles”
Closing the Lesson (2’)
As usual, students will copy on their books the activities they have
done during the lesson, as date, weather and description of the activities.
