Also the word ‘contents’ has been broken down into individual chunks to show that they are modern and for vibe magazine it represents the magazine and also identifies it. Identifies it by being progressive. The fact that the word contents is modern yet the subheadings are traditional gives the idea that vibe can be both modern yet traditional so they can draw the attention of a wider audience. This may also be because not only modern day R&B & Hip Hop is influential but traditional R&B & Hip Hop can also have the same influences and they don’t want people to forget what started the sequence off. The colour scheme is very simple due to the fact that only dark colours are shown , revolving around the colour black, however the colour red is also used this is particularly effective because Vibe magazine go totally against their own codes and conventions. Making the magazine seem very powerful and unique due to the colours use which symbolise power and maturity. The V shape in the background is very strong and eye-catching due to the fact that V is vibes branding letter and their logo. The fact that it also isn’t in a traditional font gives it the power of modern day life as it looks very stylish. This letter is also in the largest font making it matter even though it is just a single letter which would normally not have meaning but in this case it has a lot of meaning and power. The image is incredibly powerful this is because Kanye West (the male) is looking directly at the reader of the page (mode of address) which gives the reader significance importance. His facial expression is also very strong because he doesn’t look like he has any feelings, which reflects to the heart being taken out of his chest. The arm across his chest reaching for his heart has a big impact towards the image because there are no other features shown of the owner of the arm, this brings a mystery case to the image making the reader wonder. It may also show that there is another side to vibe magazine that will never been seen but will have a huge impact upon people. The fact that his own hands are un his pocket have a percentage of importance because it is showing that he has given up again giving the arm across his chest power as he seems weak.
