Modern Fashion Website Project
1. Y2 FMP fashion CONTEXTUAL STATEMENT
For my FMP I have decided that I want to create a fashion website but go more
into depth with the website and add a lot more detail with the products that will
be on the website and have products coming off the website like articles and
photoshoots and have It themed around modern fashion but instead of it just being
a basic website I will have different directions you can go in on the website and
have different themes across the website with the types of fashion I will have.
There are many reasons why I have chosen to do a fashion based FMP but one of
the main reasons is that I have always been extremely interested in fashion and
had an eye for it and being able to have the chance to do a project around fashion
is something I am going to jump at and also having the freedom to do whatever I
want when it comes the theme and style opens up a lot of doors on what I can do.
I have recently got into photography with buying my first camera this has also
pushed me and allowed me to explore styles without the restriction of renting out
gear and it also allows me to explore different locations that I have found and
different time frames. With doing a fashion website there are so many areas I can
explore and so many routes I can take, and it means I don’t have to stick to one
theme I can have different themes for different pages on the website and I want to
explore a large range of styles in fashion for example I want to look at streetwear
and designer fashion I want one part of the website to look very grungy and almost
scruffy and have that as the streetwear side of things and have all the photoshoots
for streetwear on there but also have a part of the website that is very clean and
tidy that is the designer fashion part of my website that looks more professional
and in a studio rather than been on the street and make it look like it really fits
the role of being a designer page.
On my website I will have my website as the main piece but will have other pieces
coming off it like articles and mini magazines and fanzines. For the articles I
wanted to create articles of fashion pieces and gives me a chance to write about
fashion and talk about how fashion has changed the world we live in and then with
the mini magazines and fanzines to create pieces that are mostly images but have
a small amount of text that would be quotes that relate to the images used.
For the streetwear page I want to create a page that will show streetwear women
and streetwear man and they will both have different outfits to each other but the
matching theme will be the style. I want the photos for the streetwear to be taken
in very grungy locations like abandoned buildings and on the street to make the
photos look very raw and fit the whole theme I want for that side of the website I
want this part of the website to look bit like the off white website very simple but
also if you pay attention its very detailed and has hidden places to go.
The other side of my website I want to be the designer fashion side of the website
and just like the streetwear part I want there to be a designer women and
designer man pop up tabs but with the streetwear having mainly a more lighter
theme to it with the designer page I will have more of a dark theme but with light
aspects to it I want to do a photoshoot that is themed around a bank heist with
2. some of photos having bags of money in them and is the chase after doing the heist
but having designer fashion outfits within the photos with one of the models having
the money and the other being the chaser and have many props in the shoots to
enhance the theme.
