SHOOTS
• Shoot with Liam –
Middleborough, his own clothes
• Shoot with Charlie and Aaron–
Easingwold/Thirsk, the brands
clothing
• Shoot with Emily and Robyn –
Easingwold/Thirsk, the brands
clothing & some Fila/Thrasher
stuff
• Shoot with Amy – Thirsk, some
brand & some of her own clothes
Shoots are going to be
something ill have to plan when I
know when I’m working and
when I will have the money
however when it is all sorted I will
be getting things organized and
looking into it however most
people have said they are willing
to model for me.
COLOUR SCHEMES
My colour scheme is going to be very simple
because I want to create the writing just black
to stand out and be quite minimalistic
however then my photos are going to be
quite colourful and working on something
quite unique and have some colour block
pages with writing and quotes on them from
big people in the industry. I have also
considered having some photos that will be
black and white but then have a pop of colour
of the clothing and that could be a theme of
the brand photos so that the clothing brand
has a staple photo look. I will be looking into
more colour schemes however this is
something I am pretty set on however when
production comes around each page will most
likely have a different colour scheme due to
the different clothing.
LAYOUT
As for Layouts I want to take inspiration
from a magazine called hype beast
because I think their layouts are very
aesthetically pleasing and something
that is quite unique with some
minimalistic pages but also some quite
colourful pages.
AESTHETIC
I really like the idea of getting shots like this because I think
it would really work if I did something with different lighting.
I want to use the colour gels over lighting and then edit the
lighting so it is more coloured and creating something that
will look unique. I also enjoy the layout of these double page
spreads because they are unique and look different within
the layout and the colour scheme really works. I would also
try this with the projector projecting a block colour onto the
white background so I can see which colours work best
because then it will save me editing too much colour onto
them. It will also make them look less fake and it can be
really the lighting rather than the colour edited onto them. I
am going to be trying this out before production starts
because it will create a great look hopefully into the photos.
FINANCE
Finance wise I will of worked out a lot of this out before I start production.
I have bought the clothes that I need. I have bought 4 hoodies and 4 t
shirts to customize for my brand. Another thing I will have to factor in is
train funds to places. Trains to get to places like Middleborough or Leeds
will be something that I will have to factor in. However a train to Leeds is
only £20 and a train to Middleborough is less than that at £15. I am
currently changing job to get more money for things like this and this
should make things like this a lot easier. I want this to all work out and get
something with different locations therefore travel is vital to look into.
However it shouldn't be an issue looking into it when its closer to the
date.
LOCATIONS
This is behind my friend Liam’s work
in Middleborough therefore it will be
easy to get to also the black
background will look cool in contrast
to his usual colourful clothing which I
really like for this magazine. I think
this will look really unique purely
because of his style and it will look
so different to anything else I’ve
taken photos of because I have never
worked with a model like Liam &
this location will work so well with
the entire aesthetic of the magazine.
This will most likely be more of the
pages that will have a different
colour scheme to come of the other
LOCATIONS
This is a location in fulford, york. It has
some graffiti on the walls which I think is
really cool and looked unique compared
to anywhere else. I want to create
something different which I think graffiti
amplifies the location to being
somewhere different. I would do this
shoot with someone who has more of a
plain sense of style so that the boldness
of the graffiti is still the main aspect of
the photograph.
LOCATIONS
I took these photos a while ago in York, Fulford
and I loved the look of them just stood next to the
painted wall to obviously keep cars from parking
there but the photos are actually really cool and
unique. I love the idea of using a background like
this to give the edgy street look. This is the right
aesthetic that I want within my magazine so it
works well. I would maybe edit the photos a little
more and have the models either wear different
clothes or just get different models. I would quite
like this to be a female shoot and have Robyn and
Emily against this. I think that would be very cool
and look way better than these photos on my
phone.
FONTS
I have looked into a few fonts today for my
fmp and for the general title of the
magazine. I think my personal favourite is
Voodoo eye because I think it works with a
unique look and something very different
which is what I really wanted. I like the rest
of them for the block unique look but the
Voodoo Eye font is really really different.
BRAND LOGO IDEAS
I tried some logo ideas and really like how these
have gone. These were a production experiment
but I’m really happy with how they turned out in
the end. I think my personal favorite is the middle
one, However my only issue would be people not
being able to understand what it means or says
because of the gun meaning to represent the P in
“Pistol” I have asked a few people whether they can
interpret what it says and everyone I’ve asked have
said yes therefore I think it works for everyone
personally. I do think it’s the best out of all of
them. I think it’s the best one to go for because it’s
the best one out of the three.
