2. I used publisher for the front cover and the contents page, by using the same fonts for both and the same colours it makes
them connect and people can decode that there by the same magazine. I took influence from NME magazine for my front
cover and Q magazine for contents page. I used the same conventions that I found in the analysis like the mastheads being
in the top left hand corner and sub stories and big bold headlines.
By using different shapes and effects on publisher I was able to create a good start to what I wanted my magazine to look
like.
I would of used Photoshop to create my magazine as I would been able to make a better quality magazine. But because of
my lack of knowledge I thought its be best if kept to a software that I knew about.

3. I started with a women on my two page spread in a black and white effect. I saw this
being used in the rolling stone magazine and thought I could use it for my magazine. After
manipulating the picture and using publisher to create the two page spread I showed it to
people, their feedback was positive however they did say they didn’t think it fit in with the
genre of indie/alternative rock.
So I decided to follow my
original first draft designs. I
used a male on the two page
spread and put a union jack
behind using Photoshop. I tried to
keep the typical conventions like
the use of columns and the use of
the drop capital at the beginning
of the text.
I changed the text to make it look more
edgy and rocky and put it across the
picture as seen in other music magazines.
As well as this I kept the pull quote put
took away the background to it.
