El Zahrawi, known as the "Father of Surgery", was a renowned 10th century Spanish surgeon who made significant contributions to the field of medicine. He invented many surgical instruments and techniques that had never been seen before. He wrote an influential 30-volume medical encyclopedia called Al-Tasrif that contained his findings from almost 50 years of practice and teaching. This book helped advance medicine in Europe for several centuries and established El Zahrawi as one of the most important figures in the history of surgery.
