How Advertisers Target Children
Why does advertising exist in the first place? Why have them around if some or the majority of people
will just walk straight by then without taking a second glance? Well, you may think advertisement isn
t a big deal, but advertisements have a bigger effect on society than you think. Our society of youth is
being exposed to plenty more advertisements than ever before because they re everywhere. Whether at
school, online, or wherever you are you can see an advertisement. It s Just like you can t escape them.
Now that advertisements went beyond the limits of television, there are more and more ways
advertisers target children. Three different ways that advertisers target children are by placing them in

On the article Children as Consumers , which can also be found on Trackstar, states Repetition.
Repetition involves simply repeating the same commercial message over and over. The idea is that
familiarity with a product increases the like hood of purchasing and using it. Another piece of
evidence is Celebrity Endorsement. Celebrity Endorsements also helps sell products. Athletes are
depicted on cereal boxes and appear onscreen wearing and using specific athletic clothes and gear.
Children who like these celebrities are expected to purchase these products. These two quotes are
evidence because these quotes shows different ways advertisers reach out to children. The first quote
is persuasive because people will think if this advertisement for this product is repeating itself, then it
must be good. As for the second quote, it shows someone That people can look up to, so if the
celebrity says it s good, then people will buy the product. Using advertising techniques is final way

Mechanical Arrangement Of The Heart
Introduction
The heart is an organ that pumps blood all through the body by process for the circulatory system,
providing oxygen and supplements into the tissues and evacuating carbon dioxide and different
squanders. There are two sorts of circuits by which it pumps blood, the aspiratory circuit, where the
blood is pumped through the lungs to oxygenate the blood and expel carbon dioxide and the systemic
circuit, by which the oxygen and supplements are conveyed to the tissues and evacuate carbon
dioxide. All together for the heart to beat, it requires three sorts of cells: The Rhythm generator,
conductors and contractile cells. The mechanical arrangement of the heart is started with the
pacemaker cells (conductors) that begin electrical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Eventually, Vince found lucrative work as a Salesperson at Artistic Tile and Stone; a high quality shop

Why America Is A Great Nation
Why do I believe America is a great nation? America s greatness comes from our freedom, our people,
and our First Amendment Rights of religion, speech, press and assembly. Freedom is an inalienable
right that many people of the U.S. take for granted. Our civil rights are part of our freedom. People
that invade upon our rights are punished. The severity of this punishment depends upon how harshly
our rights are violated. And, although freedom doesn t come with guarantees of a perfect life, we are
all free to choose our own destinies. America is the greatest most powerful country in the world, not
just because of our army but because of the values of our people. (President Barrack Obama,2014,

The Pros And Cons Of The Democratic Peace Theory
1. The United States has a high priority on subsidizing farmers. By giving farmers subsidies, the
United States can ensure self sustainability. The Farmers also have a huge lobby that helps protect the
farming industry. The United States was giving cotton farmers subsidies that were seen by many other
countries as giving U.S. cotton farmers an advantage over other cotton farmers internationally. Just in
2011 the United States government gave $1.3 billion in subsidies to cotton farmers. (Cochran 2016) In
2002, Brazil requested a consultation with the United States regarding the prohibited subsidies
provided to U.S. producers of upland cotton. (WTO 2014) Brazil was suing the U.S. for violating
World Trade Organization agreements, giving U.S. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Democratic Peace theory states that countries that are democracies will not go to war with each
other. (Mitchell 2015) It is believed that two democracies would not go to war with each other because
the people within each country would prefer peace. It is also unlikely for two democracies to go to war
because they share some of the same values. It is also believed that democracies tend to have more
wealth and vital infrastructure, standing to lose more if they go to war. (Mitchell 2015) The
Democratic Peace theory as has its weaknesses. War between countries are rare and it is unlikely a
country will go to war with another country even if they are democracies or not. (Mitchell 2015)
Another weakness in the theory is that democracies have not been around for a long time. It is difficult
to say democracies will never go to war with one another based on a short time period. Lastly, a
weakness to the theory is that there have been exceptions to this theory. An example is the Spanish
American war, when Spain was upset about America s involvement in Cuba s independence. (Mitchell
2015) The Democratic Peace Theory has been used by policymakers to spread democracies to other
countries. (Mitchell 2015) This was the basis for the cold war between the Soviet Union and the
United States. The Truman Doctrine set forth that the U.S. would try to establish democracy around
the world and fight the establishment of communism in other countries. (Jackson 2011) I believe that
the United States should use the Democratic Peace theory in public policy making because
democracies tend to have common ground. Many democracies stand to lose more in war. The people
within a democracy would more likely prefer to settle any disputes through diplomacy, instead of a

Physics Of A Roller Coaster Essay
Have you ever looked closely at a roller coaster, though? Did you realize it doesn t have an engine?
Have you ever stopped to WONDER how a roller coaster operates at such high speeds without one?
Let s take a look at the scientific principles and forces behind the thrills of the roller coaster.
Since roller coasters don t have engines, they must be pulled by a motorized chain to the top of the
first big hill. As the roller coaster rises higher and higher into the air, its potential energy keeps
growing until it reaches its maximum potential energy at the crest of the hill.
Potential energy is sometimes known as positional energy. Potential energy represents the amount of
work the roller coaster will be able to do with the energy it builds up from falling down the other side
of the hill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s the same reason you fall down when you trip. Or why a ball hits the ground when you drop it.
What are we talking about? Gravity, of course!
When a roller coaster crests the first big hill, gravity takes over, causing the roller coaster to fall down
at a constant rate of 9.8 meters per second squared. All that stored potential energy changes to kinetic
energy, which can also be thought of as moving energy.
As the roller coaster falls, it accelerates and builds up enough kinetic energy to propel it through the
remainder of the ride. No engine is required because of inertia. Inertia is one of the laws of physics
described long ago by Sir Isaac Newton. The law of inertia holds that an object in motion will stay in
motion until acted upon by an equal but opposite force.
In the case of a roller coaster, this means that the kinetic energy built up from the fall down the first
hill could keep it going forever. We all know, though, that roller coaster rides don t last forever. That s
because the roller coaster loses energy to other forces as it does loop the loops, curves, and other hills
along the

Canadian Airstrikes During Iraq And Syria
What these publications and the vast majority of the general population contending that Trudeau ought
to proceed with Canadian airstrikes in Iraq and Syria miss are a few motivations to stop the
bombarding, some of them coming from a more radical perspective, others immovably even minded.
To start with, the even minded.
We don t recognize what will come after ISIS
Basically everybody who isn t in ISIS concurs that the gathering is awful. In any case, we can t go
firearms (or planes, so to speak) bursting after each awful gathering on the planet, and we shouldn t.
Iraq and Afghanistan are impeccable samples of this. Ling raised the 2003 attack of Iraq in his section
also, and I need to address what he composed:
Presently, some are attracting examinations to the 2003 attack of Iraq, in spite of there being for all
intents and purposes no sensible association. The West isn t thumping over some worthless tyrant to
introduce an inviting majority rule government, it is putting forth air support for an equitably chose
government and neighborhood strengths. This is not an attack. It isn t a ground war. It is logistical air
support.
It s actual that the kind of war being pursued in Iraq and Syria at this moment is distinctive, yet it s not
clear that the impacts will be. Both Iraq and Syria are crushed by war, common and something else,
and if ISIS is steered from the region there are no solid governments to move in and restore request.
The Iraqi government is a

Robespierre Argumentative Dbq
Maximilien Robespierre Argumentative DBQ
On September 5, 1793, the National Convention of France declared terror the order of the day, which
essentially meant that the government would take any and all necessary measures to maintain a sense
of peace and stability. Strict laws and policies were imposed to ensure that the nation would continue
to evolve and change. This day marked the beginning of the infamous Reign of Terror. The Reign of
Terror was a period of turmoil in France following the onset of the French Revolution in 1789.
Extreme violence and unwarranted brutality became standard during this decade. The head of the
revolution and primary leader of the Committee of Public Safety was a French politician named
Maximilien Robespierre. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The spark that set off the Reign of Terror can be attributed to the king s attempted escape from France
in 1791 (Document 6). It is impossible for people of the modern world to comprehend exactly what
caused this mayhem simply because no one lived during that period. Regardless, the event left the
nation in a state of shock and uncertainty. The National Convention was forced to make the difficult
decision to place all of its power into an entirely new political branch, knowing that something
different was needed to save France. Before he was chosen to run the Committee of Public Safety,
Robespierre was revered for his courage and sheer determination. He ridiculed the notion that a
monarchy could last and instead pushed for democratic reforms (Document 2). Robespierre spoke to
the people of France with an air of confidence that quickly won them over. His morals were
fundamentally based on the ideals of early enlightenment thinker Jean Jacques Rousseau. Both men
asserted that man is good by nature but poisoned by society. Robespierre also believed that all men
deserve to be treated as equals in the eyes of the law (Document 3). The central cause of the French
Revolution was the nation s lack of a strong military in the face of civil war and foreign invasion.
Rebuilding the military was arguably the most significant advancement that occurred during the Reign
of Terror. Robespierre created a law called the Law of Universal Conscription in an effort to propel the
French military to a reasonable state. This law mandated all men between the ages of 18 and 40 to join
the army. Additionally, women were called into service to make uniforms. Robespierre further ensured
that his troops were well fed and prepared to spring into combat at any moment by reserving the best
bread for soldiers only. After decades of internal and external conflict,

Meglinide Research Paper
Class III: Meglitinides
The meglitinides are short acting drugs. They are similar to sulfonylureas in that they augment insulin
secretion or insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. They are only slightly less effective than
sulfonylureas in reducing glycemia. They are not sulfonylureas and can be used in patients allergic to
sulfonylureas. They cause less hypoglycemia as compared to sulfonylureas .They have a similar risk
for weight gain though as the sulfonylureas.
The 2 meglitinides that are available are Repaglinide and Nateglinide.

William Wallace (c1270 1305)
William Wallace has come to be known as one of Scotland s many heroes and the undeniable leader of
the Scottish resistance forces dying for their freedom from English Rule at the end of the 13th century.
Most accounts of Wallace have been passed down through the generations by word of mouth, making
Wallace somewhat of a Scottish folk hero. Most accounts are merely tentative, and in part due to his
success in instilling fear into the hearts of English writers and storytellers of the time, that they
demonized him, his achievements, and his motives.

Teaching A Foreigner Language And An Training Of Teaching...
The aim of this essay is to reflect the experience of teaching a foreigner language and an analyzation
of teaching strategies. The first part of the essay is an evaluation of the weaknesses and strengths of a
Task Based Learning (TBL). Second part of the essay is a self reflection on my peer teaching lesson
and how I could apply in practice the Presentation, Production, Practice (PPP) teaching strategy and
how to improve my teaching skills.
Firstly, the positive parts of the TBL lesson, the Teacher (T) was leading the lesson by concentrating
on the local needs of the Learners(L) (Tarone and Yule, 1990). To investigate the L s knowledge, she
used the life experience for learning the language (Tarone and Yule,1991:5). It was a well chosen ...

According to Scrivener all these are pending on the language level of the Ls because the activities
should be more effective to use the language (Scrivener, 2010:58.). Ellis suggesting the lesson could
improve with more concentration of leading process than by using fewer tasks. Furthermore, near to
the end of the class the T could not balance the interaction between herself and the Ls and it led to a
diverted situation which expanded the Teacher Talking Time (Stewick, 1980).
Following strategies, I learned during the observation that the best way is to shorten the controlled
practice to use more talking tasks. During the preparation of the lesson, T need to keep the attention of
the Ls, and give clear instructions, use tools such as pictures and the writing on board because they
would lose motivations to do the task easily. Also, during the activity, the T s role is to monitor how
the L could work together in groups and individually. The most practical way of the seating is the
horseshoe arrangement (Gower, Phillips, and Walters, 2014).
In order to identify our strengths and weaknesses of our teaching skills, each member of the class
participated in a 10 minutes peer teaching lesson. My chosen language was Hungarian and the aim of
the lesson was to learn the different pronunciation some letters which English does not include.
The main difficulties I had to face with were the planning the lesson and my anxiety. For me the

Hunters in the Snow Character Analysis of Tub Essay
Tub s Hardships
Being a man isn t always easy, for most of their life they are taught to show no affection and to be
tough in almost every situation. The tragedy of machismo is that a man is never quite man enough.
Hunters in the Snow , by Tobias Wolff, three hunting buddies, Frank, Tub and Kenny, set out on a
hunting trip together as they have done for years. Tub, who is over weight, self conscious and a good
friend, shows some of his weaknesses, strengths and hardships that are sometimes placed on men in
different situations. The protagonist, over weight, Tub and his two hunting buddies, Frank and Kenny

That s the way I feel about it (39). Despite how manly Tub is supposed to be as a man, the two men
have this special bond together and they show it. Tub then tells Frank, When I said that about my
glands, that wasn t true. The truth is I just shovel it in (40). Regardless being made fun of or picked on
about Tub s weight and clumsiness, Tub is yet a good listener and a great friend. Ironically, at the end
of the story the two guys, Tub and Frank, are bonding and supporting each other at the diner they stop
at to get warmed up before the hospital, even though their other friend Kenny is in the back of the
truck dying. Frank tells Kenny, It wouldn t hurt so much if you just stayed put. Now we re going to the
hospital. Got that? Say it I m going to the hospital (39). Once they leave the diner and are headed back
towards the hospital, Tub turns back to Frank, I just pulled a real boner, he said. What s that? I left the
directions on the table back there (39). A man having to be tough and to show no affection can
sometimes take a toll on their physical self being, yet they can also still be somewhat sensitive to
others emotions and feelings. In this short story by Tobias Wolff, Hunters in the Snow , Tub shows
some situations of strength, weaknesses and hardships men endure as a friend or

Strengths Of Group Work
Team role was once defined by Belbin as A tendency to behave, contribute and interrelate with others
in a particular way .
Group work can bring about mixed learning and allows for the conveyance in new ideas which may
not have materialised if I was working as an individual. According to Landsberger (2005):
Group learning, or working in groups, involves shared and/or learned values, resources, and ways of
doing things. Effective groups learn to succeed by combining these factors. However, each group, and
each individual, will only be as effective as they are willing to embrace and/or respect differences
within the group .
Initially working individually, I felt more at ease because there was only myself to consider and a
cause for concern was due to the possibility of some friction between group members when it comes
to different approaches.
However, despite the initial apprehension I have been able to see a rise in my confidence levels and
make drastic improvements in my weaker areas such as presentation skills, I have been able to see the
levels of my communication skills increase, I have accomplished personal achievements in this short
period of time and learned how to further conduct myself in a professional manner and liaise with a
variety of different people. These enhanced socialising skills will allow me to further succeed with my
career aspirations. By working alongside a range of colleagues who specialise in different sectors I

Islam and Blasphemy
Blasphemy in Islam is any irreverent behaviour towards holy personages, religious artifacts, customs,
and beliefs.
Blasphemers
Islamic legal authorities agree that a blasphemer can be Muslim or non Muslim. To be convicted of
blasphemy, an individual must be an adult, of sound mind, and not under duress. Some jurisdictions
do not punish individuals who commit blasphemy accidentally. The Maliki School of Jurisprudence
permits the exoneration of accused individuals who are converts to Islam.

A blasphemer, who violates the right of God can seek forgiveness through repentance.
The Holy Quran speaks of punishment in relation only to those who make war and mischief in
opposition to Almighty God and Holy Prophet (PBUH):
The punishment of those who wage war against Almighty God and His Messenger, and strive with
might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands
and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy
punishment is theirs in the Hereafter (Surah Maida: 33)
Blasphemy against Holy Prophet (PBUH)
A blasphemer, who violates the right of Man must seek forgiveness from the person insulted. In the
case of an insult to Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Muslim community is considered to be under an
obligation to avenge the insult because the possibility of forgiveness expired upon the death of Holy
Prophet (PBUH).

Weaknesses Of Using Secondary Analysis
Some weaknesses of using secondary analysis include outdated data, a lack of collected data, data s
reliability, and biases. Researchers must find relevant data that reflect their specific study. Depending
on the topic, there may be a lack of secondary data about certain topics that researchers are
conducting. When a study is new, the amount of existing studies could be insufficient, which need
more research to be conducted. Another weakness when using secondary analysis is the reliability of
the data itself. Secondary data such as the General Social Survey (GSS) has numerous quantitative

The Effects of Citrus Canker and Citrus Greening on the...
For citrus growers in Florida, the future is uncertain. Two bacterial diseases, named citrus canker and
citrus greening disease, have devastated countless acres of trees across the state. For an industry that
generates about $8.9 billion a year, this is no small issue ( Citrus Greening ). The Florida Citrus
Grower s Association would like to import a landrace of orange discovered in China that is resistant to
citrus greening disease and test it in Florida to discover its effects on both citrus canker and greening.
Although there are advantages to importing a resistant form of citrus, the risks greatly outweigh the
potential benefits, and for this reason, the Association should begin to place its efforts towards the

Unfortunately, canker is not the only disease growers have to worry about. Citrus greening disease,
also commonly referred to as Huanglongbing, is a much newer disease to Florida than citrus canker.
Although the bacterium, Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, has been an issue in China since the 1900
s, it did not arrive in the US until 2005 ( Citrus Greening ). The disease is spread through its primary
vector, an insect called the Asian citrus psyllid. Symptoms, which include yellow mottling of leaves,
small, green, and misshapen fruit, and poor yields, may not appear until several years after a tree is
infected. Citrus greening is such an important issue currently because, according to the United States
Department of Agriculture, other than tree removal, there is no effective control once a tree is infected
and there is no known cure for the disease ( Citrus Greening ). To date, revenue loss caused by citrus
greening disease exceeds $3.6 billion ( Citrus Greening ). Although importing a race of orange that is
resistant to greening may be helpful, the imported plants must first make it through inspection and
quarantine. The branch of the USDA that regulates the import and export of plant materials is APHIS,
the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Individuals who wish to import foreign plant material
into the US must first obtain a controlled

Rock And Roll Impact On Society
Rock and Roll has has had an impact on several decades of generations of people. It has also sustained
itself throughout this period without dropping in popularity. Rock and roll has had a huge impact on
the society we live in today because it affects other music genres such as hip hop and neo soul. It has
not only affected other genres but also opened up a way for originality, self expression, and free
thought. It also influenced artists to give political opinions through their songs which also influences
the government and how it governs specific laws including many that were apart of the civil rights act.
It has been given credit for integrating teens and adults through 1950 s 1970 s. It has also helped with
equality with races being able to perform and be successful without being treated unfairly about their
quality of music because of their race. Rock has had different effects on different countries. Europe
was the most influenced by rock because of its many rising bands from Liverpool and London. This
was because they had many musically talented people coming from the area. There are many unique
types of rock including heavy metal to classic rock, punk, alternative, and grunge. Each of the genres
have enabled different artists from each genre to rise and record companies to accompany them and
boost their popularity among fans. Many of the artists that were apart of each genre are currently
respected for their creative, energetic music. Many people today still believe

What Is Affluenza
Affluenza Affluenza is the theory that as people are able to buy more goods, their level of enjoyment
from those purchases goes down (Affluenza). Since the 1950s, a trend of buying more and feeling less
fulfilled as become prevalent among Americans. This has lead to a country where hyper
commercialism, materialism, and the buy now, pay later motto have become the norm. However,
despite a clear epidemic of affluenza rearing it s head in America, recent years have shown a slow
progression towards finding a cure. After suffering the results of overusing credit cards, many
Americans began more carefully analyzing the way they pay for their goods. Despite the average

Leonardo Vetria Research Paper
When physicist Leonardo Vetra is found murdered with the word Illuminati branded onto his chest,
Maximilian Kohler, the director of CERN (European Council for Nuclear Research), contacts Harvard
symbologist Robert Langdon for help. Kohler has Langdon flown to CERN. Langdon explains the
role of the Illuminati a secret society of artists, scientists, and freethinkers as a long standing enemy of
the Catholic Church. While Langdon is explaining this, and learning more about Vetra s research,
Vetra s adopted daughter, Vittoria, who is also a physicist, joins them. Vittoria and her father had
created antimatter in a CERN lab. This was doubly important to her father because he was a priest,
and the discovery promised to give humanity access to the secrets of creation. However, it is also a
great threat because antimatter explodes when it comes into contact with normal matter. This becomes
a pressing issue when they learn that their biggest sample has been stolen, and the battery that
generates the magnetic field (and keeps the antimatter stable) has only a twenty four hour life span.
CERN is then contacted by the Vatican: a threat has been issued indicating that the ... Show more

Should Capital Punishment Be Re-Instated
During my assessment I will be exploring some reasons why I do or do not think Capital Punishment
should be re instated. The definition of Capital Punishment is the death penalty, one can receive this
by committing a Capital Offence. A Capital Offence is a horrific crime as implied by Capital because a
capital could link to the Leader of that country because Capital is usually used to refer to a place of
importance. Some examples of Capital Offences are: Killing, Espionage, Treason, Homicide and Gang
Members.
One reason I believe that Capital Punishment should be bought back is the Biblical quote an eye for an
eye . This emphasises the belief that if you kill someone your life should be taken away. This quote is
implying justice and it resembles

The Prevalence Of Sub Clinical Hypothyroidism Essay
Abstract
Background and aim: The prevalence of sub clinical hypothyroidism (SCHT) is relatively high and
ranges from 4% to 20% in the adult population with more common in elderly. Elderly with SCHT had
higher risk of incident heart failure. Few studies reported the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in
elderly Egyptians especially ischemic group. The aim of our study was to estimate the prevalence of
Subclinical hypothyroidism in elderly cardiac patients and to assess the relation between
cardiovascular risk and thyroid function in elderly.
Methods: cross sectional study included 45 elderly Egyptian patients with cardiovascular disease and
45 healthy elderly subjects as controls. Cardiac patients were subdivided to ischemic (n=23) and
hypertensive groups (n=22). Serum level of FT4, FT3, TSH, lipid profile, fasting blood glucose were
measured. Also Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Cardiac catheterization were done in cardiology
department of Zagazig University Hospitals to elective patients.
Results: our results shows that were statistically significant higher levels of thyroid stimulating
hormone (TSH), lipid profile, systolic and diastolic blood pressure in case group compared with
control group. There were statistically significant higher levels of TSH in ischemic cardiac group
compared with hypertensive cardiac group (p 0.05).
Conclusion: In this study, the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism in all cardiac group was
(22%); in ischemic group (26%) and in hypertensive

Essay about Interior Monologue on Lady Macbeth
First came the pride, an overwhelming sense of achievement, an accomplishment due to great
ambition, but slowly and enduringly surged a world of guilt and confusion, the conscience which I
once thought diminished, began to grow, soon defeating the title and its rewards. Slowly the
unforgotten memories from that merciless night overcame me and I succumbed to the incessant and
horrific images, the bloody dagger, a lifeless corpse. I wash, I scrub, I tear at the flesh on my hands,
trying desperately to cleanse myself of the blood. But the filthy witness remains, stained, never to be

my beloved Macbeth of the witches prophecies I found myself overwhelmed by desire, by greed. I
knew that Macbeth, with his pure and noble disposition would never posses the ambition, the drive, to
make the necessary sacrifices in order to fulfil the glory promising prophecies of the imperfect
speakers. And so, I signed my own death warrant, I poured mine spirits into thine ear , I persuaded my
innocent husband to commit a crime which I and not he, deserved to pay the price for.
I am a murderer. Perhaps the crime was not committed by my hands, but it was intended by my mind.
It was my will that worked through Macbeth when he drew the treacherous blade and plunged it into
the heart of the unsuspecting king. I, his other half, his soul mate, the love of his life, taunted him of

Psychopathy Case Studies
Psychopathy
Psychopathy, a personality/mental disorder, in which an individual often display apathy in conjunction
with manipulation strategies, and without the ability to demonstrate remorse for wrong actions, is a
characteristic that has shown to be highly present in violent criminality. It is believe that the
understanding of psychopathy can lead to the prediction of criminal behavior. However, psychopathic
behavior can be affected or influence by numerous variables, including age, sex, race, ethnicity or
socioeconomic status or in some cases a combination of two or more variables.
In the study by Huchzermeier and colleagues (2008), they investigated possible age differences in the

The Cloud Of Public Cloud
Introduction: In today s technical world we are experiencing the advancement of moving or storing
larger data from one place to another. 20 years ago it would be impossible to access any data from any
part of the world today it is possible because of one new peace of technology and that is the cloud.
The cloud is term that explains a type of technology that can be used anywhere. Just like the actual
cloud we see in the sky is everywhere though out the planet so is the technical term cloud. There are
four main types of cloud which consists of private, public, community and hybrid. Each one of these
have their own pro s and con s that help an organization in one way or another. Public Cloud: The
public cloud is what the name says about it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Private cloud: Private cloud is similar to public the difference is it used for mom and pop shops.
Meaning that small business uses this type of cloud because it is not designed to hold large amounts of
data. A private cloud still needs people to give it the maintenance it needs such as making sure it is up
to date everything is up to date and so on: A private cloud is a particular model of cloud computing
that involves a distinct and secure cloud based environment in which only the specified client can
operate. As with other cloud models, private clouds will provide computing power as a service within
a virtualized environment using an underlying pool of physical computing resource. However, under
the private cloud model, the cloud (the pool of resource) is only accessible by a single organization
providing that organization with greater control and privacy ( What is a private cloud , 2015). This is
explaining that organizations that have small security issues or are unpredictable meaning that they
may go out of business are the common types of organizations that use this business because it is hard
to tell if it is worth the investment in the long run to keep investing money in a peace of technology
that a company cannot afford to keep. Community: The community cloud is a very unique type of
cloud computing and the reason being it is because it allows companies to get together and use one
cloud. In the tech word it is unusual that companies are

Summary Of Chronic Illness By Liz Shaw-Stabler
Patient doctor relationships may be strained and antagonistic for those with lupus. This is because the
physician s experience varies from the lived experience by the patients. It is common for patients with
chronic diseases to struggle to appear as credible patients to their physicians, thus, patients with lupus
may use different strategies to receive treatment for their undiagnosed chronic pain (Class notes:
Chronic Illness ppt, 2016). Patients with lupus may experience a power differential with their
physicians because of their medical knowledge. Most patient doctor relationships of those with
chronic illnesses are mutual. This is when the physician offers advice and technical information but

Shaw Stabler has battled systematic lupus for several years, enduring serious side effects, such as
kidney failure, along the way. In her narrative, Live with the Wolf and Surviving Lupus, she provides
optimistic views to patients struggling with lupus. She does this by encouraging lupus patients to keep
the faith and continue the fight, (Shaw Stabler, 2010 14). She goes onto explain that communication
with one s body is key when dealing with a chronic diseases such as lupus. This is because you can
only take action once you know what your body is trying to communicate with you. For Shaw Stabler,
she began to listen to her body is 1978. This is when she discovered that she had lupus. The author
acknowledges the fact that having lupus is hard; Too often our disabilities are invisible, and in our
culture, if one isn t missing a limb or an eye or even bleeding visibly, they are not seen as being
disabled, (Shaw Stabler, 2010 16). This maintains the notion that those with chronic diseases do not fit
the sick role clearly. The sick role is defined as social expectations regarding how society should view
sick people and how sick people should behave (Class notes: Social Meanings of Illness ppt

Budweiser Commercial Analysis
If you were to watch the Budweiser commercial called, Puppy Love, from start to finish you would

Essay On Muscle Injury
You often hear about athletes who are unable to play their sport due to a pulled hamstring. In fact, a
pulled hamstring is one of the most common muscle pulls or muscle injury. Your hamstrings are a
group of three muscles that help extend your legs at the hip and flex them at the knee. A pulled
hamstring is a strain or tear in the muscles or tendons.
To understand what causes a hamstring injury you have to know how muscles work. All muscles work
in pairs to perform a task. One set of muscles contracts to exert force while the other set of muscles
relaxes. The hamstring muscles located at the back of the thigh, work with the quadriceps muscle
group in the front of the thigh. When you want to bend your leg, the hamstring muscles contract and
the quadriceps muscles relax. Conversely, when you want to straighten your leg, the quadriceps
muscles contract and the hamstring muscles relax. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This frequently happens with the hamstring muscles. The quadriceps muscles are usually much more
powerful, so the hamstring can become fatigued faster. A fatigued muscle cannot relax as easily when
its opposing muscle contracts, leading to strains.
Muscle strains are overuse injuries that result when the muscle is stretched without being properly
warmed up. An injury to the hamstring is usually readily apparent. Mild strains may involve simple,
uncomfortable tightening of the muscle. More severe injuries may result in a sharp pain in the back of
the thigh, usually in full stride. A rupture or tear may leave you unable to stand or walk, muscles may
be tender to the touch and painful to stretch your leg. Within a few days after a tear the area may
appear very bruised.

Othello Archetypal Tragic Hero Analysis
Until Act III Scene iii, Othello is presented as the archetypal tragic hero.
To what extent do you agree with this statement?
Traditionally in a tragedy the tragic hero has several parts; noble stature, hamartia (usually as a result
of hubris), free choice and a nemesis. Othello as a character of noble blood seems to conform to all
these. Up until Act III Scene iii Othello, noble Moor is in an elated position and is very aware of his
importance. It is in Act 3 Scene 3 where Othello takes on a new persona, where his confidence and
happiness is tragically replaced with jealousy and rage.
Shakespeare establishes Othello as the tragic hero in Act 1 Scene 1 as the audience are introduced to
Iago, his nemesis, and are made aware of Othello s noble stature as well as being made aware that
Othello loves his own pride (hubris). In this first scene Iago and Roderigo are conversing about
Othello and Iago repeatedly uses the word the Moor to describe him. This was a derogative term used
to describe black men which, in Elizabethan times, were believed to be evil. As Elizabethans were
much more critical of black people, Shakespeare s deliberate choice of using a black character to have
an impact, would in reality only have had an affect on the audience when the play was initially
performed. Audiences now would be more affected and bothered by the racial element of the play,
rather than the use of a black man, this is as a result of the way societies views have transformed since

Storytelling Vs Storytelling
The novel is a modern, ever changing, and important tool that is utilized by different societies.
Storytelling did/does the same thing, however, and by finding the similarities between the two, it
appears to me that the novel is storytelling reborn. Theorist Walter Benjamin argues that novels have
done the opposite and have eradicated storytelling. He states that, ...the storyteller in his living
immediacy is by no means a present force. He has already become something remote from us and
something that is getting even more distant, which makes it seem as if the novel has destroyed the
sacred art of storytelling (Benjamin 77). Per contra, the novel has benefitted society just as much if not
more than storytelling. I have found that novels have taken the same tools that storytelling once used/
still use, such as open endings, re readability, community building, and more and have molded these
tools so that they are able to accomplish the same effects that storytelling can on a new scale. This
new scale simply means that the novel has taken the tools listed above and have utilized them in a way
that storytelling was unable to. The new technology that the printed novel brings not only attempts to
replicate storytelling technology but manages to do so. Thus we need to determine, first, if my
suspicions are correct and the novel has replaced or is at least vastly similar to storytelling. From
there, we can determine what it means to be a novel and what the novel can do with the

Fogg s The Novel Around The World
. I disagree because Fogg has several encounters with natives in British colonies that are far from civil.
For example, while in India, Fogg stumbles upon a village in which a ritual sacrifice of a widow is
taking place, despite sacrifice being illegal under the British crown. When Fogg and his party are seen
by the villagers, they hastened into the forest, followed by the soldiers, who fired a volley after the
fugitives (Verne 43). This shows that despite British imperialism, many British lands were not civil,
and Verne does not present them as such. Varshini is incorrect in saying that the British were a
civilizing force in the world because they were unable to enforce their laws, and did little to civilize
the areas the colonized. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fogg resolves this conflict by saying he has a deposit of twenty thousand pounds at Baring s which
[he] will willingly risk upon it (Verne 11). This bold statement shows a lot about Fogg s character. It
shows that although he is well educated, he is willing to take risks to prove a point and protect his
dignity. It also shows that Fogg is a very confident man.
One of the most interesting incidents in the story occurs when Fogg is traveling from Bombay to
Calcutta. He purchases a train ticket and is on his way when he discovers that the tracks will only take
him as far as Kholby. This incident is particularly interesting because it is the first time in the novel
that Fogg has to improvise in order to stay on track. Sir Francis informs Fogg that there is an elephant
nearby. Verne writes that Phileas Fogg, without getting the least bit flurried, offered to purchase the
animal outright (Verne 34). Fogg handles this situation very calmly and explains that with twenty
thousand pounds at stake, they must take every measure to ensure their success. This incident and the
way Fogg handles it show his ability to compromise and act under pressure. He does not act rashly,
but instead stays calm and takes the first available means of transportation. Overall, this incident
makes Fogg a round character because it develops his character and shows

The Battle Of The Atlantic
The Battle of the Atlantic
(03 September 1939 to 08 May 1945)
I. Background
The Battle of the Atlantic was the longest continuous military campaign in World War II, running from
1939 to the defeat of Germany in 1945. At its core was the Allied naval blockade of Germany,
announced the day after the declaration of war, and Germany s subsequent counter blockade. It was at
its height from mid 1940 through to the end of 1943. The Battle of the Atlantic pitted U boats and
other warships of the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) and aircraft of the Luftwaffe (German Air Force)
against the Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Navy, and Allied merchant shipping. The convoys, coming
mainly from North America and mainly going to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, were
protected for the most part by the British and Canadian navies and air forces. These forces were aided
by ships and aircraft of the United States from September 13, 1941. The Germans were joined by
submarines of the Italian Royal Navy (Regia Marina) after their Axis ally Italy entered the war on
June 10, 1940.
As an island nation, the United Kingdom was highly dependent on imported goods. Britain required
more than a million tons of imported material per week in order to be able to survive and fight. In
essence, the Battle of the Atlantic was a tonnage war: the Allied struggle to supply Britain and the
Axis attempt to stem the flow of merchant shipping which enabled Britain to keep fighting. From
1942 onwards, the Germans also

Sir John Alexander Macdonald Essay examples
Sir John A. Macdonald was one of Canada s founding fathers. He is most remembered as being
Canada s first Prime Minister, running the government from July 1, 1867 until November 5, 1873.
Macdonald would become Prime Minister once again on October 17, 1878 and would stay in this
position until June 6,1891. While he was leader of the country he faced his own share of political
obstacles, including Confederation, the Metis rebellion and threats of an American he is among the
greatest leaders Canada has ever seen and played a significant part in the forming of Canada as a
country.
John Alexander Macdonald was born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 11, 1815. His family

After Macdonald was back in Kingston, Ontario he entered active politics. Kingston was a
conservative town, so when Macdonald entered politics he therefore joined the Conservative Party. In
1843 Macdonald was elected an alderman in Kingston, then in 1844 he won an election giving him a
seat in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada. The members of the Assembly quickly
recognized Macdonald?s political abilities, resulting in him being made Receiver General in 1844 for
the Conservative Government. This position gave him a seat on the Executive Council in the Province
of Canada. The Conservative government of William Draper was defeated a year later so for the next
few years Macdonald assisted in the rebuilding of the Conservative Party. ( Macdonald, Sir )
Macdonald felt the key to Canada?s success, as a country, would rely on its connection to its mother
country, Britain. Macdonald showed these feelings in his first address to the electors:
I therefore need scarcely state my firm belief that the prosperity
of Canada depends upon its permanent connection with the mother country, and that I shall resist to
the utmost any attempt (from whatever quarter it may come) which may tend to weaken that union. (
Macdonald, Sir John ) True to her promise, Isabella Clark came to Canada during the summer of 1843.
Macdonald and Clark hit it off during the summer and thus got married

Religious Freedom in America
From the beginning the United States of America was formed, it has been founded and established by
religious toleration and freedom. Without religious freedom, people are forced to comply with laws
and policies that blatantly contradict their beliefs. This results in people living their lives in a struggle
between their personal beliefs and obeying the laws that are placed before them. Obviously upholding
personal convictions is very important, but people are forced to decide if it is personally worth the
persecutions they may endure in result of it. Freedom of religion is considered to be a basic human
right. Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, Everyone has the right to
freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or
belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his
religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance (Leiter, p. 6). However, there are many
countries throughout the world that are actively engaging in religious persecution daily. Roger Trigg,
author of Equality, Freedom, and Religion, states that without the ability to decide, and live by, what
we consider to be most important and valuable in life, we cannot be free (Trigg, p. 153). The early
pilgrims of the United States were seeking religious freedom. However, it was not the type of religious
freedom that is associated with the First Amendment. They came

My Experience At The End Of The Summer
We live in a world in which we are expected to work and survive; working provides the resources
needed for survival, but working does not necessarily bring happiness to our lives. When I was in high
school I got a summer job and was hoping for the best, before I even started working I had already
calculated how much I would earn at the end of the summer. Everything seemed perfect I was not
excited about having to wake up early but I knew I could manage it and I did. For three consecutive
summers I worked packing fruit out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fig trees. The first week
on the job was fun and manageable; however, as time progressed I began to hate my life. I hated the
fact that I had to wake up at four in the morning and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I felt like I was sacrificing valuable time in order to do the most painful thing in the world. Marx
recognizes that external labour, labour in which man alienates himself, is a labour of self sacrifice, of
mortification. I did not feel embarrassed to be working out in the fields, but I did hate my life and I
felt like time was passing slowly. While working in the summer I made money but I also learned a lot.
Before working I knew that life could be difficult; however, I was never consciously aware of the
competition/envy that exists among workers. I had always heard my parents talk about their jobs and
they would mention greedy co workers but I thought that was just something they did in order to scare
me away from working. However, when I started working I realized that my parents were not playing
when they would tell me that people can be very greedy. At work not only did I experience subject
alienation, but I also experienced and saw how species alienation comes into play when individuals
compete for the resources available. The first week of work was very fun because everyone got along
and everyone worked together; however, by the third week the work environment was different.
People were now greedy with their things, the ladies did not want to share boxes or share the fruit,
even though all the workers were getting paid the same for the same exact work. At that moment

William Blake Literary Analysis
What is now proved was once only imagined.
(Ed. Mason, Michael. William Blake: Selected Poetry. Oxford World Classics, 2008.)
This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line which
is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university, never took
opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on any Grand tour
in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one who would call
him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the one, who shine out
like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English Literature, William Blake.
What he says about Imagination is
The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself.
(Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William
Blake. UPNE, 1988.)
After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to
recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like
figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic.
After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is
Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic?
Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union with
or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge inaccessible to
the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also comes with another
definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief, especially a belief in the occult
. So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs a person have. Actually, Blake was
a non conformist. Non conformism refers in history to religious groups that had alienated from the
Church of England in the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Such people had groups
like Baptists, Methodists, Puritans, Quakers and Unitarians. Few researchers believe that his parents
were Swedenborgians or readers

Rhetoric in the American Immigration Debate Essay
According to Aristotle, a speaker could frame any debate using three approaches: an appeal to logic,
an appeal from credibility, or an appeal to emotions. All speakers and writers use the tripartite
approach to rhetoric in varying degrees and ultimately the audience judges their effectiveness in the
context presented. In America, few topics are as hotly debated as that of undocumented migration, and
it can be difficult to pick through the partisan and often vitriolic rhetoric in order to come to a rational
conclusion. Politicians frame the debate using elements of the American mythos. While the evidence
they present to back their conclusions may be factual, it necessarily omits the full truth in order to
present a partisan political front. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nazario undertook the writing of Enrique s Journey an account of an undocumented migrant boy
trying to reunite with his mother who had left him for a job in the States to herself better understand
the human aspect of the debate. The story of Enrique is fundamentally a story that stirs the emotions.
While we may find reasonable the logical arguments laid out by the Nazario s sources, and while
Nazario s ethos is backed by extensive notes, the tale is fundamentally an anecdotal account in the
larger debate over immigration. Its appeal is pathetic in that it viscerally shows the life and travails of
an immigrant from Central America, following the protagonist through drug addiction and beatings,
danger and deportations, poverty and exploitation, and finally the thorny reunion with his mother.
Nazario intentionally writes an engaging adventure (or misadventure) story using a third person
narrative instead of focusing on Enrique s own words. The writing and organizational style of Enrique
s Journey walks a thin line between ethnography and creative non fiction, a choice that deliberately
increases the emotional and imaginative appeal.
Even with the imaginative aspects of the story,

How Is Paradiso Created By Dantes Inferno
Why do most readers tend to read only Inferno? In the 1300s, Dante Alighieri wrote three parts to the
epic poem, The Divine Comedy, an imaginary story about himself. Dante is given a tour of the three
different sections of Heaven: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. Alighieri puts Dante through
innumerable experiences that change him as The Divine Comedy progresses. Before Dante s journey
through Inferno, he realizes his current way of life is not on the true path . In other words, Dante is not
living life the way he should purely and without sinning. Alighieri compares this feeling to being
alone in a dark wood; as he says in line three of Canto I. When Virgil calls to Charon to take them to
the circles of hell, Dante passes out because he is overwhelmed and frightened. This event shows that
he is shocked and not prepared for the things he is about to go through. The second circle is filled with
the lustful souls. These souls are punished by being constantly blown by wind, preventing them from
finding tranquility. Expectantly, Dante feels sympathy towards these souls, because they are damned
because of their love. In the fifth circle, Dante recognizes someone from his life whom he despises,
and is glad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again, Paradiso is split into spheres, as explained by Beatrice. In Canto II, Dante says, ...turn
back and make your way to your own coast. / Do not commit yourself to the main deep, / for, losing
me, all may perhaps be lost. In these lines, he is warning the reader to stop reading, because human
reasoning cannot understand the concepts and ideas expressed in Paradiso. This statement expresses
the fact that Dante has already gone through several changes that have helped him become closer to
God. Dante is finally one with God in this section of the story. All the change he has gone through has
lead up to this moment. Meeting God has brought Dante completely back to the true

The teacher frames some questions designed to promote student thinking, but many have a single
correct answer. Students were asked to Turn and Talk on the following questions: 1. Think of a lesson
you learned in life 2. How did you learn? 3. Did you pass the lesson to another person? Was it
successful? How do you know? The teacher invites students to respond directly to one another s ideas,
but few students responded to one another. She asked students to determine three of the most

Should People Have The Right To Call Rescue Services To...
Do you think climbers have the right to call rescue services to come save them? I think they do
because they are climbing the mountains for the adventure and it s their choice. The three reasons why
people should have rescue services is that everyone has the right to call 911, people has the right to
call for help, and the lives that could be saved by doing so.
Everyone has the right to call 911, why couldn t they call for assistance. Since everyone can call 911
without any reason means you can also call for rescue services to. 911 is meant to be a service for
people who need assistance, so if you could just call 911, you could also call for rescue services as
well. When you are doing a dangerous act people call for help and come to the rescue,

Similarities Between America And Greek Immigration
η Έλληνας μετανάστευσης American novelist Tom Robbins once said Our similarities bring us to a
common ground; our differences allow us to be fascinated by each other. Everyone has a different
story, whether it s something big like immigration or something small like family tradition. These
differences don t pull us apart, but show us how unique we are and that being the same isn t always
the best. While the typical Greek immigrant left due to economic failure, prospered in America, and
brought their rich culture with them, the same cannot be said for my family. While there were some
similarities between the immigration of the typical Greek and my family, there are also many
differences. Leaving The year was 1820, and Greek emigration to America had just begun. More
Greeks began living outside of Greece rather than inside. There were more than 500,000 Greek
immigrants who had landed in America between 1820 and 1924, and approximately two thirds of
them had made America their permanent home (Moskos 335). So what began this mass migration of
the Greeks? Most major emigrations are caused by some kind of collapse, whether it is economic
collapse or collapse of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So in 1947 they took a ship from Pereus, Greece to Ellis Island. The ship was named Marine Carp and
the ticket they bought was the lowest priced one available, because they were extremely poor. Their

frightened about traveling to a new country, as they had never been on a ship before. When they
arrived at Ellis Island they were separated by gender and inspected one by one for disease or infection.
They were then asked a series of questions regarding information such as their name, age, date of
birth, etc. As soon as they made it through customs, they boarded a train that was headed to Santa

Riding a motorcycle was a more cost effective sport, plus it was much easier to jump on a bike for a few hours of riding than prepare the boat for a few hours of sailing. Not quite the same, but even so, a great alternative way to have fun. Eventually, Vince found lucrative work as a Salesperson at Artistic Tile and Stone; a high quality shop located in our home town of San Carlos. America s greatness comes from our freedom, our people, and our First Amendment Rights of religion, speech, press and assembly. Freedom is an inalienable right that many people of the U.S. take for granted. Our civil rights are part of our freedom. People that invade upon our rights are punished. The severity of this punishment depends upon how harshly our rights are violated. And, although freedom doesn t come with guarantees of a perfect life, we are all free to choose our own destinies. • 8. The Pros And Cons Of The Democratic Peace Theory 1. The United States has a high priority on subsidizing farmers. By giving farmers subsidies, the United States can ensure self sustainability. The Farmers also have a huge lobby that helps protect the farming industry. The United States was giving cotton farmers subsidies that were seen by many other countries as giving U.S. cotton farmers an advantage over other cotton farmers internationally. Just in 2011 the United States government gave $1.3 billion in subsidies to cotton farmers. (Cochran 2016) In 2002, Brazil requested a consultation with the United States regarding the prohibited subsidies provided to U.S. producers of upland cotton. The Democratic Peace theory states that countries that are democracies will not go to war with each other. (Mitchell 2015) It is believed that two democracies would not go to war with each other because the people within each country would prefer peace. It is also unlikely for two democracies to go to war because they share some of the same values. It is also believed that democracies tend to have more wealth and vital infrastructure, standing to lose more if they go to war. (Mitchell 2015) The Democratic Peace theory as has its weaknesses. War between countries are rare and it is unlikely a country will go to war with another country even if they are democracies or not. (Mitchell 2015) Another weakness in the theory is that democracies have not been around for a long time. It is difficult to say democracies will never go to war with one another based on a short time period. Lastly, a weakness to the theory is that there have been exceptions to this theory. An example is the Spanish American war, when Spain was upset about America s involvement in Cuba s independence. (Mitchell 2015) The Democratic Peace Theory has been used by policymakers to spread democracies to other countries. (Mitchell 2015) This was the basis for the cold war between the Soviet Union and the United States. The Truman Doctrine set forth that the U.S. would try to establish democracy around the world and fight the establishment of communism in other countries. (Jackson 2011) I believe that the United States should use the Democratic Peace theory in public policy making because democracies tend to have common ground. Many democracies stand to lose more in war. The people within a democracy would more likely prefer to settle any disputes through diplomacy, instead of a costly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Have you ever stopped to WONDER how a roller coaster operates at such high speeds without one? Let s take a look at the scientific principles and forces behind the thrills of the roller coaster. Since roller coasters don t have engines, they must be pulled by a motorized chain to the top of the first big hill. As the roller coaster rises higher and higher into the air, its potential energy keeps growing until it reaches its maximum potential energy at the crest of the hill. Potential energy is sometimes known as positional energy. Potential energy represents the amount of work the roller coaster will be able to do with the energy it builds up from falling down the other side of the hill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s the same reason you fall down when you trip. Or why a ball hits the ground when you drop it. What are we talking about? Gravity, of course! When a roller coaster crests the first big hill, gravity takes over, causing the roller coaster to fall down at a constant rate of 9.8 meters per second squared. All that stored potential energy changes to kinetic energy, which can also be thought of as moving energy. As the roller coaster falls, it accelerates and builds up enough kinetic energy to propel it through the remainder of the ride. No engine is required because of inertia. Inertia is one of the laws of physics described long ago by Sir Isaac Newton. The law of inertia holds that an object in motion will stay in motion until acted upon by an equal but opposite force. In the case of a roller coaster, this means that the kinetic energy built up from the fall down the first hill could keep it going forever. We all know, though, that roller coaster rides don t last forever. That s because the roller coaster loses energy to other forces as it does loop the loops, curves, and other hills along the ... • 12. Canadian Airstrikes During Iraq And Syria What these publications and the vast majority of the general population contending that Trudeau ought to proceed with Canadian airstrikes in Iraq and Syria miss are a few motivations to stop the bombarding, some of them coming from a more radical perspective, others immovably even minded. To start with, the even minded. We don t recognize what will come after ISIS Basically everybody who isn t in ISIS concurs that the gathering is awful. In any case, we can t go firearms (or planes, so to speak) bursting after each awful gathering on the planet, and we shouldn t. Iraq and Afghanistan are impeccable samples of this. Ling raised the 2003 attack of Iraq in his section also, and I need to address what he composed: Presently, some are attracting examinations to the 2003 attack of Iraq, in spite of there being for all intents and purposes no sensible association. The West isn t thumping over some worthless tyrant to introduce an inviting majority rule government, it is putting forth air support for an equitably chose government and neighborhood strengths. This is not an attack. It isn t a ground war. It is logistical air support. It s actual that the kind of war being pursued in Iraq and Syria at this moment is distinctive, yet it s not clear that the impacts will be. • 13. Robespierre Argumentative Dbq Maximilien Robespierre Argumentative DBQ On September 5, 1793, the National Convention of France declared terror the order of the day, which essentially meant that the government would take any and all necessary measures to maintain a sense of peace and stability. Strict laws and policies were imposed to ensure that the nation would continue to evolve and change. This day marked the beginning of the infamous Reign of Terror. The Reign of Terror was a period of turmoil in France following the onset of the French Revolution in 1789. Extreme violence and unwarranted brutality became standard during this decade. The head of the revolution and primary leader of the Committee of Public Safety was a French politician named Maximilien Robespierre. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The spark that set off the Reign of Terror can be attributed to the king s attempted escape from France in 1791 (Document 6). It is impossible for people of the modern world to comprehend exactly what caused this mayhem simply because no one lived during that period. Regardless, the event left the nation in a state of shock and uncertainty. The National Convention was forced to make the difficult decision to place all of its power into an entirely new political branch, knowing that something different was needed to save France. Before he was chosen to run the Committee of Public Safety, Robespierre was revered for his courage and sheer determination. He ridiculed the notion that a monarchy could last and instead pushed for democratic reforms (Document 2). Robespierre spoke to the people of France with an air of confidence that quickly won them over. His morals were fundamentally based on the ideals of early enlightenment thinker Jean Jacques Rousseau. Both men asserted that man is good by nature but poisoned by society. Robespierre also believed that all men deserve to be treated as equals in the eyes of the law (Document 3). The central cause of the French Revolution was the nation s lack of a strong military in the face of civil war and foreign invasion. Rebuilding the military was arguably the most significant advancement that occurred during the Reign of Terror. Robespierre created a law called the Law of Universal Conscription in an effort to propel the French military to a reasonable state. This law mandated all men between the ages of 18 and 40 to join the army. Additionally, women were called into service to make uniforms. Robespierre further ensured that his troops were well fed and prepared to spring into combat at any moment by reserving the best bread for soldiers only. William Wallace Essay William Wallace (c1270 1305) William Wallace has come to be known as one of Scotland s many heroes and the undeniable leader of the Scottish resistance forces dying for their freedom from English Rule at the end of the 13th century. Most accounts of Wallace have been passed down through the generations by word of mouth, making Wallace somewhat of a Scottish folk hero. Most accounts are merely tentative, and in part due to his success in instilling fear into the hearts of English writers and storytellers of the time, that they demonized him, his achievements, and his motives. • 16. Teaching A Foreigner Language And An Training Of Teaching... The aim of this essay is to reflect the experience of teaching a foreigner language and an analyzation of teaching strategies. The first part of the essay is an evaluation of the weaknesses and strengths of a Task Based Learning (TBL). Second part of the essay is a self reflection on my peer teaching lesson and how I could apply in practice the Presentation, Production, Practice (PPP) teaching strategy and how to improve my teaching skills. Firstly, the positive parts of the TBL lesson, the Teacher (T) was leading the lesson by concentrating on the local needs of the Learners(L) (Tarone and Yule, 1990). Furthermore, near to the end of the class the T could not balance the interaction between herself and the Ls and it led to a diverted situation which expanded the Teacher Talking Time (Stewick, 1980). Following strategies, I learned during the observation that the best way is to shorten the controlled practice to use more talking tasks. During the preparation of the lesson, T need to keep the attention of the Ls, and give clear instructions, use tools such as pictures and the writing on board because they would lose motivations to do the task easily. Also, during the activity, the T s role is to monitor how the L could work together in groups and individually. The most practical way of the seating is the horseshoe arrangement (Gower, Phillips, and Walters, 2014). In order to identify our strengths and weaknesses of our teaching skills, each member of the class participated in a 10 minutes peer teaching lesson. My chosen language was Hungarian and the aim of the lesson was to learn the different pronunciation some letters which English does not include. Group work can bring about mixed learning and allows for the conveyance in new ideas which may not have materialised if I was working as an individual. According to Landsberger (2005): Group learning, or working in groups, involves shared and/or learned values, resources, and ways of doing things. Effective groups learn to succeed by combining these factors. However, each group, and each individual, will only be as effective as they are willing to embrace and/or respect differences within the group . Initially working individually, I felt more at ease because there was only myself to consider and a cause for concern was due to the possibility of some friction between group members when it comes to different approaches. However, despite the initial apprehension I have been able to see a rise in my confidence levels and make drastic improvements in my weaker areas such as presentation skills, I have been able to see the levels of my communication skills increase, I have accomplished personal achievements in this short period of time and learned how to further conduct myself in a professional manner and liaise with a variety of different people. In fact, a pulled hamstring is one of the most common muscle pulls or muscle injury. Your hamstrings are a group of three muscles that help extend your legs at the hip and flex them at the knee. A pulled hamstring is a strain or tear in the muscles or tendons. To understand what causes a hamstring injury you have to know how muscles work. All muscles work in pairs to perform a task. One set of muscles contracts to exert force while the other set of muscles relaxes. The hamstring muscles located at the back of the thigh, work with the quadriceps muscle group in the front of the thigh. A rupture or tear may leave you unable to stand or walk, muscles may be tender to the touch and painful to stretch your leg. Within a few days after a tear the area may appear very bruised. Remember RICE and you will know the immediate treatment protocol for many sports related injuries, including hamstring pulls or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Othello Archetypal Tragic Hero Analysis Until Act III Scene iii, Othello is presented as the archetypal tragic hero. To what extent do you agree with this statement? Traditionally in a tragedy the tragic hero has several parts; noble stature, hamartia (usually as a result of hubris), free choice and a nemesis. Othello as a character of noble blood seems to conform to all these. Up until Act III Scene iii Othello, noble Moor is in an elated position and is very aware of his importance. It is in Act 3 Scene 3 where Othello takes on a new persona, where his confidence and happiness is tragically replaced with jealousy and rage. Shakespeare establishes Othello as the tragic hero in Act 1 Scene 1 as the audience are introduced to Iago, his nemesis, and are made aware of Othello s noble stature as well as being made aware that Othello loves his own pride (hubris). In this first scene Iago and Roderigo are conversing about Othello and Iago repeatedly uses the word the Moor to describe him. This was a derogative term used to describe black men which, in Elizabethan times, were believed to be evil. As Elizabethans were much more critical of black people, Shakespeare s deliberate choice of using a black character to have an impact, would in reality only have had an affect on the audience when the play was initially performed. Audiences now would be more affected and bothered by the racial element of the play, rather than the use of a black man, this is as a result of the way societies views have transformed since ... • 40. Storytelling Vs Storytelling The novel is a modern, ever changing, and important tool that is utilized by different societies. Storytelling did/does the same thing, however, and by finding the similarities between the two, it appears to me that the novel is storytelling reborn. Theorist Walter Benjamin argues that novels have done the opposite and have eradicated storytelling. He states that, ...the storyteller in his living immediacy is by no means a present force. He has already become something remote from us and something that is getting even more distant, which makes it seem as if the novel has destroyed the sacred art of storytelling (Benjamin 77). Per contra, the novel has benefitted society just as much if not more than storytelling. I have found that novels have taken the same tools that storytelling once used/ still use, such as open endings, re readability, community building, and more and have molded these tools so that they are able to accomplish the same effects that storytelling can on a new scale. This new scale simply means that the novel has taken the tools listed above and have utilized them in a way that storytelling was unable to. The new technology that the printed novel brings not only attempts to replicate storytelling technology but manages to do so. Thus we need to determine, first, if my suspicions are correct and the novel has replaced or is at least vastly similar to storytelling. From there, we can determine what it means to be a novel and what the novel can do with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Fogg s The Novel Around The World . I disagree because Fogg has several encounters with natives in British colonies that are far from civil. For example, while in India, Fogg stumbles upon a village in which a ritual sacrifice of a widow is taking place, despite sacrifice being illegal under the British crown. When Fogg and his party are seen by the villagers, they hastened into the forest, followed by the soldiers, who fired a volley after the fugitives (Verne 43). This shows that despite British imperialism, many British lands were not civil, and Verne does not present them as such. Varshini is incorrect in saying that the British were a civilizing force in the world because they were unable to enforce their laws, and did little to civilize the areas the colonized. ... This bold statement shows a lot about Fogg s character. It shows that although he is well educated, he is willing to take risks to prove a point and protect his dignity. It also shows that Fogg is a very confident man. One of the most interesting incidents in the story occurs when Fogg is traveling from Bombay to Calcutta. He purchases a train ticket and is on his way when he discovers that the tracks will only take him as far as Kholby. This incident is particularly interesting because it is the first time in the novel that Fogg has to improvise in order to stay on track. Sir Francis informs Fogg that there is an elephant nearby. Verne writes that Phileas Fogg, without getting the least bit flurried, offered to purchase the animal outright (Verne 34). Fogg handles this situation very calmly and explains that with twenty thousand pounds at stake, they must take every measure to ensure their success. This incident and the way Fogg handles it show his ability to compromise and act under pressure. He does not act rashly, but instead stays calm and takes the first available means of transportation. • 43. The Battle Of The Atlantic The Battle of the Atlantic (03 September 1939 to 08 May 1945) I. Background The Battle of the Atlantic was the longest continuous military campaign in World War II, running from 1939 to the defeat of Germany in 1945. At its core was the Allied naval blockade of Germany, announced the day after the declaration of war, and Germany s subsequent counter blockade. It was at its height from mid 1940 through to the end of 1943. The Battle of the Atlantic pitted U boats and other warships of the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) and aircraft of the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) against the Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Navy, and Allied merchant shipping. The convoys, coming mainly from North America and mainly going to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, were protected for the most part by the British and Canadian navies and air forces. These forces were aided by ships and aircraft of the United States from September 13, 1941. The Germans were joined by submarines of the Italian Royal Navy (Regia Marina) after their Axis ally Italy entered the war on June 10, 1940. As an island nation, the United Kingdom was highly dependent on imported goods. Britain required more than a million tons of imported material per week in order to be able to survive and fight. In essence, the Battle of the Atlantic was a tonnage war: the Allied struggle to supply Britain and the Axis attempt to stem the flow of merchant shipping which enabled Britain to keep fighting. • 45. Religious Freedom in America From the beginning the United States of America was formed, it has been founded and established by religious toleration and freedom. Without religious freedom, people are forced to comply with laws and policies that blatantly contradict their beliefs. This results in people living their lives in a struggle between their personal beliefs and obeying the laws that are placed before them. Obviously upholding personal convictions is very important, but people are forced to decide if it is personally worth the persecutions they may endure in result of it. Freedom of religion is considered to be a basic human right. Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance (Leiter, p. 6). However, there are many countries throughout the world that are actively engaging in religious persecution daily. Roger Trigg, author of Equality, Freedom, and Religion, states that without the ability to decide, and live by, what we consider to be most important and valuable in life, we cannot be free (Trigg, p. 153). The early pilgrims of the United States were seeking religious freedom. However, it was not the type of religious freedom that is associated with the First Amendment. They came ... This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line which is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university, never took opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on any Grand tour in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one who would call him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the one, who shine out like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English Literature, William Blake. What he says about Imagination is The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself. (Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William Blake. UPNE, 1988.) After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic. After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic? Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union with or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also comes with another definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief, especially a belief in the occult . So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs a person have. Actually, Blake was a non conformist. • 48. Rhetoric in the American Immigration Debate Essay According to Aristotle, a speaker could frame any debate using three approaches: an appeal to logic, an appeal from credibility, or an appeal to emotions. All speakers and writers use the tripartite approach to rhetoric in varying degrees and ultimately the audience judges their effectiveness in the context presented. In America, few topics are as hotly debated as that of undocumented migration, and it can be difficult to pick through the partisan and often vitriolic rhetoric in order to come to a rational conclusion. Politicians frame the debate using elements of the American mythos. While the evidence they present to back their conclusions may be factual, it necessarily omits the full truth in order to present a partisan political front. ... The story of Enrique is fundamentally a story that stirs the emotions. While we may find reasonable the logical arguments laid out by the Nazario s sources, and while Nazario s ethos is backed by extensive notes, the tale is fundamentally an anecdotal account in the larger debate over immigration. Its appeal is pathetic in that it viscerally shows the life and travails of an immigrant from Central America, following the protagonist through drug addiction and beatings, danger and deportations, poverty and exploitation, and finally the thorny reunion with his mother. Nazario intentionally writes an engaging adventure (or misadventure) story using a third person narrative instead of focusing on Enrique s own words. In the 1300s, Dante Alighieri wrote three parts to the epic poem, The Divine Comedy, an imaginary story about himself. Dante is given a tour of the three different sections of Heaven: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. Alighieri puts Dante through innumerable experiences that change him as The Divine Comedy progresses. Before Dante s journey through Inferno, he realizes his current way of life is not on the true path . In other words, Dante is not living life the way he should purely and without sinning. Alighieri compares this feeling to being alone in a dark wood; as he says in line three of Canto I. When Virgil calls to Charon to take them to the circles of hell, Dante passes out because he is overwhelmed and frightened. This event shows that he is shocked and not prepared for the things he is about to go through. The second circle is filled with the lustful souls. These souls are punished by being constantly blown by wind, preventing them from finding tranquility. Expectantly, Dante feels sympathy towards these souls, because they are damned because of their love. In the fifth circle, Dante recognizes someone from his life whom he despises, and is glad ...
