Reasons For Universal Health Care In The United States
Reasons for National Health Care
The Declaration of Independence guarantees everyone the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness. All citizens should be afforded the right to health care whether they can pay to have health
care or provided by the government. There are many who cannot afford health care from private
insurance companies. Most Americans barely make enough to substantiate common living expenses
such food, clothing, and shelter as such and they should not be punished because of their inability to
pay for health care. Our forefathers promised that every individual would be treated equally, that being
the case health care is not a privilege. The constitution guarantees right to life denying people health
care limits life expectancy and increases infant mortality rates having health care will preserve life and
allow the pursuit of happiness. Universal health care will produce a healthier and more productive
population.
Implementation of a universal health care system will benefit private businesses across the board.
Businesses would no longer have to pay for employee health insurance policies. As of two thousand

The Sports Gene Analysis
We Determine Our Own Destiny
How much of our lives do we actually control ? Everyone has and will always have different outlooks
on this question that can t possibly be proven, we can solely try to persuade and convince each other
otherwise. For example two authors had two different viewpoints on this controversial question.David
Epstein, author of The Sports Gene, argues that physical ability formed at birth out ways hard work
and success achieved through years of practice. The opposing author William Ernest Henley wrote a
poem called Invictus that is strong and powerful to anyone that reads it, claiming that you are the
master of your own destiny. These are both reasonable claims but I believe William Ernest Henry has
a more convincing argument therefore he better answers the question, How much of our lives do we
actually control ?
In The Sports Gene, David Epstein compares two high jumpers and their success, arguing that
physical ability is the leading cause of an individual s success. David Epstein uses Donald Thomas as
an example to support his claim by comparing his success to Stefan Holm. Donald Thomas was an
inexperienced high jumper who had an incredible amount of success leading him to participate and
eventually win the 2007 World Championships. Stefan Holm was the reigning Olympic champion of
the high jump which used discipline and many years of practice to achieve success but was defeated
by a neophyte. Epstein provides information about studies conducted on

Essay Important Place
An important place.

As a child the most important place to me was the block in my neighborhood I grew up on. It was a
particularly long and very wide street with several pairs of incredibly tall palm trees spread throughout
both sidewalks. There was no shortage of playmates; almost every other home on the block had
children around my age I could play with. There was also an older generation of teenagers that hung
around together. I also had other family members living down the street from my house on the same
block. As the children played daily so did the adults. The men of the block all met daily after work
rotating from one home to another. They could be seen sitting around every ... Show more content on

It also made things great that our families were all close friends so our playtime was extended to trips
together or while the adults wanted to come over for dinner. Unfortunately Marco moved away with
his family when we were just 6 years old. Michael and I continued to be best friends growing up into
our pre teen years; suddenly Michael s family decided to move out of California, just as Marco and his
family did years earlier. It was a sad time for me, but life went on and my neighborhood was still filled
with young, wild, and free kids to play with. New friendships were created and new memories were
made. Although, I never found another best friend to replace Michael or Marco, I continued to build
friendships and enjoyed my time on Carondelet Street.
Everyday around 5pm the men of the neighborhood would begin to slowly gather to a neighbor s
home. The objective was just to have a great time with great people. It was a time during the day
where everyone drank to unwind and get comfortable. Instead of a local bar with strangers it was with
their family and their friends. They talked about their day at work, as most of the men came straight
from their jobs with some still wearing their uniform. They sat for hours into the late evening,
laughing, telling stories, and gambling by playing cards. It didn t matter if it was a weekday; it was all

Web Based Solution For Oyigbo Football Club
2.1 Introduction
The aim is to provide a web based solution for Oyigbo Football club by creating a dynamic site that
will improve and market its annual events. The plan is to design a simple, user friendly and aesthetic
website to help the club manage user data and advertise its events, and to allow its users explore the
online services which the site would have to offer. Technology has made a huge impact in the world of
football, which some of them is the official sites of football clubs, apparently the websites platform
helps the clubs to market their brands, tickets and even communicate with fans.
However, in order to gain a better knowledge of a website development needed to implement this
project, we have taken basic steps into investigating the different components that makes up a good
and professional looking website, especially a commercial website at that, such components includes,
websites design, web technologies, football web sites, methodologies and human interface design.
This part of the report has been structured into two important parts: the literature review, and the
product review. The both parts this research will be providing insight into the advantages these
technologies offer and some of the major setbacks and issues these technologies present.

How Is Victor Frankenstein Selfish
Though Victor Frankenstein and his creation both have qualities that are clearly monstrous, Victor s
selfishness, his abandonment of his responsibilities, and his inability to recognize his own faults and
the monstrous qualities within himself qualities within himself make him the true monster while his
creation is rather the opposite.
It would be logical to assume that someone who grew up in a very close family full of selfless people
who take care of others and offer their time and help to the less fortunate would grow up to be selfless
and altruistic himself. This is not the case with Victor Frankenstein. He realizes that he is very lucky to
have such a tight knit, loving family and he is very grateful for them. However, his family is ... Show

He always puts the blame on his passions or his wishes, never himself. He even blames his own father.
According to Victor, his actions are the the fault of the spirit of good or chance or knowledge. When
he does finally acknowledge that the creation of the creature and the way the creature grew up is his
fault, he claims he s only not altogether free from blame . He does not fully take the blame, and then
he goes on to basically say that everybody makes mistakes, so it s okay that he reanimated and
abandoned a human who had already been dead. He calls his creation a catastrophe, a wretch, a
miserable monster, a filthy demon, a devil, a depraved wretch. What Victor does not acknowledge is
that he was the one who made the creature this way. When it comes to describing Victor, he is seen as
noble and godlike in ruin . He is not seen as a monster who did irreparable damage to another human
being, but as a fallen god. What s more is that Victor does not hesitate to blame himself for the deaths
of William, Henry, Elizabeth, and even Justine. Though he is, in a way, responsible for their deaths, it
s by extension. He won t take the blame for what he s truly responsible for creating and abandoning
this creature with nothing but fear, confusion, and

Internal Memo for Client
Memo PAGE * MERGEFORMAT 1
In this Memo we will identify and analyze our client s legal situation and assess the situation and
describe how the law firm can help. First, we need to answer the question what is an easement. An
easement is a given or required right to use another person s land without owning or leasing it.
Easements may be either express or implied. Express easements must be in writing to be enforceable,
whereas implied easements need not be written. (Cheeseman Pg.227) . The easement is for a city
utility line on the property. So this means a property owner of a piece of property around the property

Before a trial is set to be heard, a lawyer can ask for a motion to dismiss the case if there is not enough
evidence or the complain is not relevant to the case. The court will look into to see if there is a lack of
subject matter jurisdiction or a lack of personal jurisdiction. Another step in a civil court procedure is
in a form of alternative dispute resolution. Both sides have a chance to settle the dispute through
arbitration before it goes to trial. If the case does go to trial a judge or jury will decide by
preponderance of evidence if the plaintiff is to win.
On the other hand in a criminal case, there must be intent to comment a crime in order to press charge
against a person. The case between the city, the property owner, and Mr. Jones s business regarding

White Servitude and the Growth of Black Slavery in Colonial America

January 24, 2011
From The Journal of Economical History , Vol. 41, No. 1, author David W. Galenson provides a nine
page article published in March 1981 entitled White Servitude and the Growth of Black Slavery which
I thoroughly read and will present my own analysis.
In a unique approach author David Galenson examines the transition of servants to slaves during the
17th and 18th century of British America. He successfully covers the importance of slavery and the
reason for its high demand. Galenson takes into consideration the demographic conditions and its
differences throughout the West Indies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The article emphasized the need for servants and slaves in order to make substantial growth however
failed to mention where slavery derived from. As wrongful as slavery is it has been installed in our
history for centuries. A reference to Ancient Egypt could have easily been made and just like then it
was used to build a foundation of civilization. Slavery, indenture servants, immigration and planters
all functioned in a cycle, which seemed to work but after long term failed. Planters needed labor to be
done and immigrants wanted a way out from British rule so they sold themselves either into slavery or
as an indenture servant. As an indenture servant they were contracted anywhere from 3 to 7 years and
freed. Slavery on the other hand continued and was instilled into the culture. Galenson explains how
servants at one point were worth more than slaves. Overtime the two flopped and slaves were of
demand and the reason for that was due to cost. Planters realized they could train the slaves to pick up
a trade and replace the indenture servants. This way they would be spending

Relationship Between Romeo And Juliet Conflict Essay
Irreconcilable opposites prompt mental and physical experiences. Conflict from a literary perspective
is an inherent representation of one s incompatibility between objectives that is usually expressed
through an active disagreement between two or more characters or forces. This is usually
demonstrated through both internal or external means as it forms the essential element of the storyline.
This poses an obligation from the author, to introduce and develop conflict in order to achieve stability
or the story outcome. The feuding nature between the Montagues and Capulets in Shakespeare s
Romeo and Juliet truly demonstrates this conflicting struggle between opposing houses, family
members and individuals. In juxtaposing, parent and child, violence and peace and the profane and
sacred aspects, Shakespeare s acclaimed tragedy establishes the ancient grudge and elucidates that this
warring mentality ultimately leads the climatic deaths of protagonists Romeo and Juliet as they take
their life .
Conflict is immediately introduced within the Prologue of the play. The audience is ... Show more

of Mercutio s remark that Romeo is cowardly, physical conflict follows, Mercutio s death. He then

Myasthenia Gravis Research Paper
Myasthenia gravis is considered an autoimmune disease because people who have it carry an antibody
called polyclonal that destroys the acetylcholine receptors (Neurology, 2013). These antibodies
destroy receptor sites in the neuromuscular junction faster than the body can produce them. Usually
antibodies protect the body from foreign invaders like bacteria and viruses, but in the case of MG it
attacks accessories that are required for muscle movement. In a study conducted by Jon Lindstrom and
Seybold Marjorie (1998), it was concluded that out of 71 patients with MG, 87 percent of them had a
greater amount of antibodies for destroying acetlycholine receptors than normal (Lindstrom Marjorie,
1998). They compared this amount to 175 patients ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, anti acetylcholinesterase agents like Mestinon are available; these stop the breakdown of
acetlycholine allowing more to be created, letting more of it to be attached to receptors (Product
Information, 2005). Mesttinon and similar medications have been around for almost fifty years,
however they do cause nausea, muscle cramps and involuntary twitches. There is also corticosteroids
like prednisone which basically which reduce acetylcholine receptor antibody (Treatment for MG,
2010). They are inexpensive but they may cause hypertension and diabetes (Treatment for MG, 2010).
Another major approach to treating myasthenia gravis is removing the thymus gland. Between ten to
fifteen percent of patients with MG have a tumor in this gland. The relationship between myasthenia
gravis and the thymus gland is still a topic under major study and for the most part is unclear.
However, some scientist say the thymus gland is what produces the acetylcholine receptor antibodies.
Over the years, patients with MG have gotten this thymus gland removal done and have experienced
improvement in muscle weakness. A study done by Giuseppe Marulli, Marco Schiavon, Egle
Perissinotto and their colleagues (2012) looked at 100 patients with MG who went through the surgery
to remove the thymus gland (Marulli et al., 2012). The results stated that it was only a 60 300 minute
procedure with a median three day

The Importance Of Desegregation In Public Schools
Have you ever thought about how much history has changed since the dark days? The civil rights act
of 1964 finally ended segregation in public places. The civil rights was first proposed by president
John F. Kennedy, despite all the oppression from southern council members. Swann v. Charlotte
Mecklenburg board of education. Presented to the Supreme Court in 1971 this case was to determine
wether the respondents idea of the desegregation plan was an effective and reasonable attempt. The
constitutional mandate to desegregate public schools did not require all schools in a district to reflect

overall economy. In the United States, health care is technologically advanced but expensive. Health
care costs were about $2.6 trillion dollars in 2010. For decades, the amount of money spent on health
care has increased more than the overall economy has grown. Health care is paid for by government

Private insurance
Private insurance can be purchased from for profit and not for profit insurance companies. Although
there are many health insurance companies in the United States, a given state tends to have a limited

they may use health care services more.

Positive Effects Of Adhd In Children
Effects of ADHD ADHD is a developmental disorder of self control. The disorder is not caused by a
failure in the parent to discipline or control their child. The disorder can also have negative effects on
the parent. Also a child can have many troubles learning and treating this disorder. ADHD can have
many effects and causes, but it is how a person copes and monitors themselves or their child. The
physical, social and cognitive consequences of this disorder reflect an impairment in the person s
ability to reflect on their own behavior. The first thing someone will notice with a person when they

at any age can have trouble with speech and sounding things out loud. There are three methods that
help children talk to themselves out loud. These three methods are called cognitive behavior
modification, self instruction and self control programs. Some effects of ADHD that must deal with
cognition are academic failure, social isolation, depression and low self esteem. Some people think
differently about every situation. Sometimes a child could even think the decisions they are making
are the right decision and they are not. Neuropsychological deficits in adults with ADHD go beyond
comorbidity. Specific comorbid disorders may influence the neuropsychological functioning in adults

can go along with ADHD can be bipolar disorder which then would have an effect of comorbidity.

Personal Reflection
As I was reading this book, I kept having awe moments because I have either seen the material
covered in real time or have thought about it. Out of the five career strategy components, the two that
stood out for me were extending experiences and networking/connecting. Reflecting on my
educational and professional career, these two themes have been the most relevant.
Extending experiences When I graduated from UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), I expected to get a job
within the month. I believed that by simply having my degree I would stand out from the group, little
did I know this was completely false. I had a resume with little experience and realized it was my lack
of previous experiences that would haunt me. In addition to having little experience, I never visited a
career counselor at UCSB to assist me with the proper structure of a resume and cover letter. Feeling
unprepared and disappointed at myself about how I used my time while at UCSB, I fell into a minor
depression. After every denial email from employers, my depression grew. However, it was one
experience that truly shaped my job search perception. I applied to any and every job in the market
and got the opportunity to interview for AT T for a clerk position. Going into the job interview I had
high hopes because I knew I had the discipline. When I entered the office where the interview was
being held, the hiring manager asked me a few questions about myself and then he stopped. He was

Analysis Of The Book Watchmen By Moore And Gibbons
If the concept of good and evil was clear and concise, every nation would have an identical criminal
codes. However, mortality is subjective as religion, culture and personal opinions influence human s
judgment of what is right and wrong. The graphic novel Watchmen, written and drawn by Moore and
Gibbons is a graphic novel about a mysterious murderer hunting vigilantes formally known as the
Watchmen. While the remainder of the former members of the Watchmen are searching for this
mysterious murderer, the graphic novel depicts how each vigilante had his or her version of justice
and how it should be served. By showing the perspective of each vigilantes view of the world,
Watchmen demonstrates that the concept of good and evil differ for every individual. The vigilante s
history, their perspective of how the world runs and their concept of justice, are a reflection of how
people in modern day society cannot fully agree on a set of social standard.
When the world was minutes away from reaching midnight on the doomsday clock, Ozymandis had

half of New York, it forced the world to work together to defeat this monster while forgetting the fact
that they were engaged in the Cold World. Ozymandias understanding of morality was that some
sacrifices, civilian casualties and the destruction of New York, must be made for the greater good,
stopping the world from total annihilation.

Genetic Studies Of Prostate Cancer
Background: Among various epithelial cancers, genomic studies of prostate cancer (PCa) identified
several molecular markers including E26 transformation specific (ETS) gene fusions, SPINK1 and
many others. The prevalence of these molecular markers in African American (AA) prostate cancer
has not been studied to the extent that has been studied for European American (EA) prostate cancer to
understand the racial disparity. Contrary to the conventional approaches, new approaches are needed
to understand the underlying genetic disparity between the AA and EA PCa. Therefore, we have
developed refined approaches to screen whole mount radical prostatectomy tissues rather than
systematic sampling of tumor from dominant/index nodule to assess the fundamental molecular
differences in the incidence of molecular markers between AA and EA prostate cancer.
Hypothesis/Objective: Prostate molecular markers have been first discovered using the cancer genome
of individuals other than African American decent. Due to the lack of screening in a large cohort of
AA PCa the prevalence of these markers in AA PCa is not known. Given the fundamental differences
in the ancestral history of the genome of AA and EA the prevalence of these molecular markers may
be markedly different. Conventional systematic sampling approaches may not reveal the true
prevalence in AA PCa. Therefore, we propose to undertake an innovative approach using whole mount
radical prostatectomy to understand the racial disparity.

Thomas Kuhn Research Paper
Thomas Kuhn s View of Science Peter Roberts Thomas Kuhn was one of the most influential
philosophers of science of the 20st century. Beginning his academic career in physics, he developed an
interest in the history of science, which eventually saw him turn to the philosophy of science. His
ideas were influenced strongly by the time he spent studying the works of historical scientists, such as
Aristotle and Copernicus, in their original contexts. Kuhn were published his seminal work, The
Structure of Scientific Revolutions in 1962. Kuhn describes the work of scientists in a scientific field
as being conducted under the banner of a paradigm , which he defined as universally recognized
scientific achievements that for a time provide model ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paradigms, said Kuhn, were accepted examples of actual scientific practice examples which include
law, theory, application, and instrumentation together ... models from which spring particular coherent
traditions of scientific research 5 . The construction of a paradigm involves an unprecedented scientific
achievement (often solving a notoriously difficult problem in a field), opening the way for many
problems that promise to be solved using the methods and thought demonstrated by that
accomplishment. To support this view, Kuhn gave several examples of historically significant
paradigms, including Newton s understanding of Mechanics as published in his Principia and
Lavoisier s work in 2 Chemistry. A paradigm allows scientific research to proceed by defining
suitable scientific problems (for example the strength of the gravitational constant suggested by
Newtons work), and giving the scientist the confidence that the solutions to such puzzles exist within
the framework of the paradigm. A paradigm further promotes fruitful work by allowing the scientist to
continue the work of others, rather than each new scientist needing to rebuild his field from
fundamentals 6 . It was this promise of continued success in scientific problem solving that led Kuhn
to identify the existence of a governing paradigm to divide the scientific field from

Scarlet Letter Puritan Society
The Scarlet Letter was set in Massachusetts Bay Colony during the 1600 s. This society is built upon
with Puritans beliefs and systems, which affects Hester Prynne as she lives in this Puritan society.
Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of The Scarlet Letter, exposes Hester Prynne as an adulterer with the
Letter A adhered on her chest. The people of the town afflicted and bedeviled Hester. Everyday for her
was filled with shame and affliction of her sin, so was her daughter Pearl. Pearl was considered as a
sin of her parents actions, which one of them is paying the price. The father of pearl, which happens to
be Arthur Dimmesdale, buries his guilt, for the sin he committed, deeper into his heart, which caused
him to be insane. In this Puritan society, people are constantly doing actions that gains them their
pleasure. They start by harassing and inflicting pain to the people who brought shame to their society,
which are Hester and Pearl. Satisfying their sadistic nature, by deriving pleasure to themselves. As a
result, women in this society also use their hypocritical ways to gain pleasure by their humiliating
conversations. The Scarlet Letter, reveals the women of this society as in the idea of hypocrisy. They
neglect democracy and equality of both sexual beings in this society, by punishing them through
different views depending on their gender. Dimmesdale, the reverend, would be punished differently
than Hester. In chapter 2 page 35, it states If the hussy stood up for

Institutional Systems And The Selection Pressures Of...
There are various institutional systems that are part of our world. Population, production, regulation,
distribution and reproduction are all forces that create potential problems that lead to the creation of
institutional systems. In other words, institutional systems are created because of the given selection
pressures. The main goal of any institution is to provide solutions for selection pressures, many of
them can even help to resolve multiple issues. For example, when it is needed to reproduce
biologically and culturally, the institution of kinship aids to resolve the pressures of reproduction. In
the same way, when it is needed to regulate the individuals in society, religion could help fulfill the
selection pressures of regulation. Education, like kinship, helps to reproduce culturally and also
regulate the roles of individuals. Just like these three institutions, the others also play a role in
resolving other selection pressures. Kinship, religion and education, however, will be the main focus
of this paper given that they are the institutions that mainly aid to the selection pressures of
reproduction, population and regulation. Kinship is the institution that resolves the issue of
reproduction (until the population gets large). As stated previously, a society needs to reproduce
biologically, social structurally and culturally. The explanation that Turner provides for kinship is that
it allows marriage and blood ties organized into structures and mediated by

China Cultural Awareness Book Report
Introduction
I chose the book On China by Henry Kissinger to analyze the country I was assigned because it was a
fairly new book. On China was written in 2011, information throughout the book was relevant, up to

have been introduced to numerous tools that help us during the Targeting process. One of the tools that
we utilized was the acronym PMESII PT (political, military, economic, social, information,

Political organization in China
Dynasty rise and falls characterized China s ancient political organizations (Kissinger Henry 88). The
dynasty era began during the Xia dynasty in around 2100 1600 BC and ended when the Republic of
China government was formed in the year 1949. Their political organization was hereditary, hence the
name dynasty. This meant that when the king or the emperor died the succession for the throne would
occur in the same family line; mainly from father to son. There were some occasions, however, when
a non blood relative would assume the leadership positions. Nevertheless, this was in very rare
instances. This kind of political organization and ruling to some extent might have promoted unity of
the various kingdoms as per the time; although this was not always the case. There are some instances
when the country Kingdom split and later merged again through conquests and war.
The ancient China was characterized by many dynasties (Kissinger Henry 72). The Xia dynasty was
the first. The Shang dynasties succeed the Xia dynasty (1600 1046). Then there was the Zhou
Dynasty. It was followed by the

Rousseau and the Positive Theory of Liberty
Liberty impacts two main areas of political thought; the state of nature and the social contract. This
essay will examine wither or not it is proper to characterize Jean Jacque Rousseau as holding a
positive theory of liberty. To determine to what extends this is true the following areas must be taken
into account and explored; the definitions of liberty and freedom, Isaiah Berlin s concept of positive
and negative liberty, Rousseau understands of Liberty and also why Rousseau s theory can be
characterised as positive liberty. The main argument of this essay is that Rousseau does hold a positive
theory of liberty. Jean Jacque Rousseau was born on the 28th June 1712 and died on the 2nd July

Once rulers cease to protect the ruled, the social contract is broken and the governed are free to choose
another set of governors or magistrates. Rousseau believed that the only reason human beings were
willing to give up individual freedom and be ruled by others was that they saw that their rights,
happiness, and property would be better protected under a formal government rather than an anarchist
or every person for themselves type of society. Rousseau noted that Each of us puts his person and all
his power in common under the supreme direction of the general will, and, in our corporate capacity,
we receive each member as an indivisible part of the whole. At once, in place of the individual
personality of each contracting party, this act of association creates a moral and collective body,
composed of as many members as the assembly contains voters, and receiving from this act its unity,
its common identity, its life, and its will. Rousseau claimed in The Social Contract that this contract
between rulers and the ruled should be rethought therefore rather than have a government which
largely protects the wealth and the rights of the powerful few, government should be fundamentally
based on the rights

Briony s Journey Atonement
Atonement was written by Ian McEwan in 2002. The novel tells the story of thirteen year old Briony
Tallis and her journey to reach atonement for the mistake she made in her childhood that sent Robbie
Turner to prison, who later is identified as an innocent man. Ian McEwan takes Briony on a journey
during which she goes through guilt, deceit, coming of age, and the struggle to reach atonement for
that all began on the hottest night of the summer of nineteen thirty five, when she sent an innocent
man to prison, which spanned a period over sixty four years. Ian McEwan shows that guilt can stay
with an individual for a lifetime. Briony knows the night of the rape that she had not seen the

Insert Title Here Hero. According to Webster s New World Dictionary, a hero is defined as any person,
male or female, admired for courage, nobility, etc. (Webster s New World Dictionary, hero 1 ).
Webster s Pocket Dictionary, comparably, defines a hero as a person of great courage, spirit, etc.,
especially one who has undergone great danger or difficulty (Webster s Pocket Dictionary, hero 3 ).
Heroes are not born heroes. Yes, everyone is born with the ability to be a hero, but in time, they may
or may not become one. In our society, heroes are greatly acclaimed in the media. Whenever some
person takes a bullet for a loved one or saves a child from a burning building, there is a huge deal
made about it, and they become known as heroes. But a person does not have to physically save
someone s life to be a hero. A hero can also be someone who simply stands up for what he or she
believes. Much like Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird, a hero can be someone who knows
what is right and does the right thing, even if he is ridiculed for doing so. Also, whether or not a
person is a hero depends on the perspective of the person. For instance, a little girl may think her
father is the greatest man alive, but her first grade classmate does not think so instead, she thinks her
father is a hero. The daughters of the man who is known for deterring United Airlines Flight 93 on

Pros And Cons Of Government Assistance In America
For a very long time there s been the debate over government assistance in america, admittedly there
are plenty of pros and cons on either side of the argument, in this case I believe that the pros outweigh
the cons. America should introduce a universal basic income as a replacement for all other
government assistance in an effort to reduce government bureaucracy, improve standard of living,
reduce the wealth gap, contribute to better working conditions and create social capital. Providing a
base income for all americans regardless of previous income would greatly affect the standard of
living in america. Replacing all other government benefits with ten thousand dollars per year for all
american citizens over the age of eighteen years old. Say a person makes forty thousand dollars per
year, they now have an extra ten thousand dollars to add to that, enough to cover daycare or assist in
daycare costs for a single parent, or to allow someone who works three jobs to now be able to to work
two instead. It s no secret that ten thousand more dollars per year would be helpful to anyone, but for
some it could be the difference between living on the street or not. Yes, ten thousand dollars is most
likely not enough for someone to be able to afford their own apartment, house, ect. Even so, living
with a roommate is preferable over living on the street. Having a roommate is the perfect ... Show

Should We Study In America Essay
Studying abroad is very important to one s life if the opportunity lies right in front. Nowadays, many
students has becoming aware of the benefits of studying outside from their homecountry. America is
one of the most common country that encompasses international students all around the world.
Besides from housing numerous esteem places for learning, America tends to act as a place for the
culture to exchange between international students and locals which is one of the many benefits for
one to consider studying overseas. However, the process of learning does not happen as smooth as the

Supreme Court Case Paper
Let me start off by saying that this case in my opinion, was particularly difficult for me to understand
and decipher what I was actually reading. That being said, I think the main issue in this case is
whether the parties intended that a construction and repurchase clause should constitute as a covenant.
A covenant is a formal written agreement between two parties for the performance of some action, that
runs with the land. These actions were to be enforceable by a specific performance, or a future
interest. In this case the construction of an office building on a condition subsequent, which is later

Cold War Vs America
The end of the Cold War has brought about a renewed debate over competing theoretical traditions in
the study of international relations (Pietrzyk, 2001). With the mutual enemy of Nazi Germany, logic
would dictate that as America and the USSR fought as allies during World War Two, their relationship
after the war would be solid and friendly. However, the two countries despised each other because
they were both capable of destroying the other with the Atomic bomb.
As the scientific battle of enhancing the Atomic bomb varied between the countries, the struggle of
USSR communism versus US capitalism grew immensely. The animosity matured into pure
detestation as the Soviet Union passed the Warsaw and as America embarked on aggressive
nationalism. President Truman displayed America s power by prancing the USS Missouri battleship
and the USS Franklin Roosevelt aircraft carrier through the wanted territory, Straights of Dardanelles,

Characteristics Of Post Impressionism
Post Impressionism encompasses a wide range of distinct artistic styles that all share the common
motivation of responding to the opticality of the Impressionist movement. The stylistic variations
assembled under the general banner of Post Impressionism range from the scientifically oriented Neo
Impressionism to the lush Symbolism, but all concentrated on the subjective vision of the artist.
Symbolic and highly personal meanings were particularly important to Post Impressionists such as
Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh. Rejecting interest in depicting the observed world, they instead
looked to their memories and emotions in order to connect with the viewer on a deeper level.
Structure, order, and the optical effects of color dominated the aesthetic vision of Post Impressionists
like Paul Cézanne, Georges Seurat, and Paul Signac. Rather than merely represent their surroundings,
they relied upon the interrelations of color and shape to describe the world around them. Despite the
various individualized styles, most Post Impressionists focused on abstract form and pattern in the
application of paint to the surface of the canvas. The label Post Impressionism was never used by the
Post Impressionists themselves. It was coined in 1910 by Roger Fry when he staged an exhibition in
London called Manet and the Post Impressionists (Munry, 2017). Cezanne, Gauguin and Van Gogh
were the central artists of this show since, according to Fry, they were the three great painters who had

Though it may not be a legal commitment, but days when an emergency situation is at hand healthcare
staff should make use of good ethical practice and be present for work.
Administering the wrong prescription for a patient can be viewed as a negligent act as well as a bad
ethical decision. As much as this act leans more towards negligence, it is only right to assume the
existence of poor ethical standards. If nurse maintained a high standard and value towards occupation,
the right medication would have been giving to the patient.
Identify and explain at least three professional considerations The three professional considerations
that pertain to this case are similar to the ethical considerations. It was unprofessional for the nurses to
call off, leave patients un attended, and also breaking the patient legal duty to provide proper service
to patients. According to (makely), enhancing professionalism has become a major challenge for
healthcare educators, employers, and personnel (2009).
As a healthcare professional, the nurses in this case don t necessarily lack skills of being nurses but

The Importance Of The Bill Of Lading And Freight Bill
In transportation logistics what is importance/interplay of the BILL OF LADING AND FREIGHT
BILL? (10)
In transportation logistics Bills of lading are official or certified documents, which could be
admissible in a court. They name items to be transported during a freight shipment. The bills of lading
are issued by the shipping company, those hauling your material, or a third party logistics company.
The bills of Lading should include descriptions of every item, weight, and value being shipped. These
bills represent the agreement between the shipper and the logistics provider on where the freight will
be transported, where the freight will be collected, and when the freight will show up at its destination.
Furthermore, it can function as the title to the goods described for shipping for situations involving
official descriptions of loan collateral. The bill makes the service level agreement clearly stated and
documented as a agreed upon freight company and customer commitment. A company must prudently
attempt to met obligations, or this bill will showcase a fault or flaw in service. Both customers and
freight companies want to ensure these bills are accurate and reliable for dispute purposes since they
can avoid or alleviate issues. Freight bills do not serve as key evidence in disputes, they can include
additional charges besides what is on the bills of lading including stipulations that clarify the
information on the bill of lading document. Invoices of information on the

The Challenges Of Global Logistics
On Amazon s global site, people from around the world can purchase items, from clothes to toys to
food and have them shipped directly to their front door. While this can seem to be a great opportunity,
shipping logistics can be a nightmare for Amazon and take extensive amounts of time for the buyer.
One student, Xiao Bixue, from Beijing, China explained that the quality of goods from Amazon are
good, but the tariffs are expensive and shipping takes time (Bixue and Xinling). With the differences
in cultures and distance to consider, how can Amazon expect to compete globally?
The Challenges to global logistics
There are many challenges to Amazon when considering global logistics. Some processes must be
done through the U.S. Amazon website. Shipping costs can be high. And, because Amazon is shipping
products greater distances, time plays a large factor in receiving and returning products. How to deal
with these issues can be quite complex. Differences in expectations, such as quality and price, should
also be a consideration. Due to the variety of culture, how the customer should be treated can differ as
well.
Because most product descriptions and comments are written in English, non English speaking people
have a difficult time purchasing on Amazon s Global store. Only general descriptions are translated
and some translations can be confusing or completely wrong. Because Amazon has global customers,
they also have a wide variety of expectations from these customers. Areas

Criticism And The Themes Of Antoni Gaudi
Antoni Gaudi: I chose Antoni Gaudi because of the way he managed to incorporate the themes of
nature and religion into his work. Gaudi had a very deep appreciation and pride of the Mediterranean
heritage. A famous comment of him was We own the image. Fantasy comes from the ghosts. Fantasy
is what people in the North own. We are concrete this really describes his way of viewing his own
work... through his complete disregard from past designers and his lust for starting a new trend which
he got from nature. His love for nature was started by the time he spent in his garden while enjoying
his youth. He would spend hours in the garden looking at how trees would move in the wind. This
would later go on to inspire him to use the great sweeping curves he would later use in his design
projects. Goudi suffered from extreme rheumatism, this contributed to his reticent and reserved nature.

He is known to have been attracted to only one woman Josefa Moreu, teacher at the Mataró
Cooperative, in 1884. Thereafter Gaudí took refuge in the profound spiritual peace his Catholic faith
offered him. Gaudí is often depicted as unsociable and unpleasant, a man of gruff reactions and
arrogant gestures. However, those who were close to him described him as friendly and polite,
pleasant to talk to and faithful to friends. Gaudí s personal appearance Nordic features, blond hair and
blue eyes changed radically over the course of time. As a young man, he dressed like a dandy in costly
suits, sporting well groomed hair and beard, indulging gourmet taste, making frequent visits to the
theatre and the opera and visiting his project sites in a horse carriage. The older Gaudí ate frugally,
dressed in old, worn out suits, and neglected his appearance to the extent that sometimes he was taken
for a beggar, such as after the accident that caused his

Strengths And Weaknesses Of My Personality
Section A Strengths: Like any individual I have a wealth of weaknesses and strengths. This is the
unique mixture that makes up my personality compared to anyone else. However, in the context of my
strengths I have few that come to mind. First, personally I am a communicator. I enjoy conversing
with people of all perspectives. I find it fascinating to learn/ hear their stories or experiences and use
those as lessons or just knowledge that sits in the back of my mind. Thus, I guess someone could make
the argument that I have a good memory. However, professional level for this same quality I feel it is
effective to communicate the roles and the initiatives of the project or any task at hand to get the best
possible result. By communicating I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, due to my family doing business with several individuals I built relations that have
become referrals for jobs. As of today I have six job offers awaiting me when I graduate due to the
awesome opportunities. Conditions that might prevent you from getting the position you want: In
retrospect, I have been turn down from jobs, because my family has too many business connections
that intertwine with other clients of the business. This is a major downfall because I recognize having
another person in competition (in the agriculture field) knowing another agriculture occupant can
become difficult to build a trusting and lasting business relationship. This is just one example of a
hindrance to my professional success. Career Goals: I have a somewhat specific career goal, but it
won t be easy to do. I will graduate this summer with my undergrad, and has plans to work for one of
the companies that have offered positioned for me. This will be in the financial sector and I will work
a total of a year and return to school for law. This is not an easy endeavor, but I have an interest and
desire to excel in this field of business. My grandmother was a lawyer for many years and has inspired
me to pursue this cause. After completing school, I will focus my efforts on business/ corporate law,
and after competing in this field I will try and get a position with a consulting firm that will work to
advise businesses and governments on legal

Reasons For Universal Health Care In The United States Reasons for National Health Care The Declaration of Independence guarantees everyone the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. All citizens should be afforded the right to health care whether they can pay to have health care or provided by the government. There are many who cannot afford health care from private insurance companies. Most Americans barely make enough to substantiate common living expenses such food, clothing, and shelter as such and they should not be punished because of their inability to pay for health care. Our forefathers promised that every individual would be treated equally, that being the case health care is not a privilege. The constitution guarantees right to life denying people health care limits life expectancy and increases infant mortality rates having health care will preserve life and allow the pursuit of happiness. Everyone has and will always have different outlooks on this question that can t possibly be proven, we can solely try to persuade and convince each other otherwise. For example two authors had two different viewpoints on this controversial question.David Epstein, author of The Sports Gene, argues that physical ability formed at birth out ways hard work and success achieved through years of practice. The opposing author William Ernest Henley wrote a poem called Invictus that is strong and powerful to anyone that reads it, claiming that you are the master of your own destiny. These are both reasonable claims but I believe William Ernest Henry has a more convincing argument therefore he better answers the question, How much of our lives do we actually control ? In The Sports Gene, David Epstein compares two high jumpers and their success, arguing that physical ability is the leading cause of an individual s success. David Epstein uses Donald Thomas as an example to support his claim by comparing his success to Stefan Holm. Donald Thomas was an inexperienced high jumper who had an incredible amount of success leading him to participate and eventually win the 2007 World Championships. Stefan Holm was the reigning Olympic champion of the high jump which used discipline and many years of practice to achieve success but was defeated by a neophyte. • 5. Essay Important Place An important place. Chris English 123 August 20, 2013 2 As a child the most important place to me was the block in my neighborhood I grew up on. It was a particularly long and very wide street with several pairs of incredibly tall palm trees spread throughout both sidewalks. There was no shortage of playmates; almost every other home on the block had children around my age I could play with. There was also an older generation of teenagers that hung around together. I also had other family members living down the street from my house on the same block. As the children played daily so did the adults. It was a sad time for me, but life went on and my neighborhood was still filled with young, wild, and free kids to play with. New friendships were created and new memories were made. Although, I never found another best friend to replace Michael or Marco, I continued to build friendships and enjoyed my time on Carondelet Street. Everyday around 5pm the men of the neighborhood would begin to slowly gather to a neighbor s home. The objective was just to have a great time with great people. It was a time during the day where everyone drank to unwind and get comfortable. Instead of a local bar with strangers it was with their family and their friends. They talked about their day at work, as most of the men came straight from their jobs with some still wearing their uniform. They sat for hours into the late evening, laughing, telling stories, and gambling by playing cards. It would be logical to assume that someone who grew up in a very close family full of selfless people who take care of others and offer their time and help to the less fortunate would grow up to be selfless and altruistic himself. • 21. Genetic Studies Of Prostate Cancer Background: Among various epithelial cancers, genomic studies of prostate cancer (PCa) identified several molecular markers including E26 transformation specific (ETS) gene fusions, SPINK1 and many others. The prevalence of these molecular markers in African American (AA) prostate cancer has not been studied to the extent that has been studied for European American (EA) prostate cancer to understand the racial disparity. Contrary to the conventional approaches, new approaches are needed to understand the underlying genetic disparity between the AA and EA PCa. Therefore, we have developed refined approaches to screen whole mount radical prostatectomy tissues rather than systematic sampling of tumor from dominant/index nodule to assess the fundamental molecular differences in the incidence of molecular markers between AA and EA prostate cancer. Hypothesis/Objective: Prostate molecular markers have been first discovered using the cancer genome of individuals other than African American decent. Due to the lack of screening in a large cohort of AA PCa the prevalence of these markers in AA PCa is not known. Given the fundamental differences in the ancestral history of the genome of AA and EA the prevalence of these molecular markers may be markedly different. Conventional systematic sampling approaches may not reveal the true prevalence in AA PCa. Therefore, we propose to undertake an innovative approach using whole mount radical prostatectomy to understand the racial disparity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Beginning his academic career in physics, he developed an interest in the history of science, which eventually saw him turn to the philosophy of science. His ideas were influenced strongly by the time he spent studying the works of historical scientists, such as Aristotle and Copernicus, in their original contexts. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paradigms, said Kuhn, were accepted examples of actual scientific practice examples which include law, theory, application, and instrumentation together ... models from which spring particular coherent traditions of scientific research 5 . The construction of a paradigm involves an unprecedented scientific achievement (often solving a notoriously difficult problem in a field), opening the way for many problems that promise to be solved using the methods and thought demonstrated by that accomplishment. To support this view, Kuhn gave several examples of historically significant paradigms, including Newton s understanding of Mechanics as published in his Principia and Lavoisier s work in 2 Chemistry. A paradigm allows scientific research to proceed by defining suitable scientific problems (for example the strength of the gravitational constant suggested by Newtons work), and giving the scientist the confidence that the solutions to such puzzles exist within the framework of the paradigm. A paradigm further promotes fruitful work by allowing the scientist to continue the work of others, rather than each new scientist needing to rebuild his field from fundamentals 6 . It was this promise of continued success in scientific problem solving that led Kuhn to identify the existence of a governing paradigm to divide the scientific field from ... • 25. Institutional Systems And The Selection Pressures Of... There are various institutional systems that are part of our world. Population, production, regulation, distribution and reproduction are all forces that create potential problems that lead to the creation of institutional systems. In other words, institutional systems are created because of the given selection pressures. The main goal of any institution is to provide solutions for selection pressures, many of them can even help to resolve multiple issues. For example, when it is needed to reproduce biologically and culturally, the institution of kinship aids to resolve the pressures of reproduction. In the same way, when it is needed to regulate the individuals in society, religion could help fulfill the selection pressures of regulation. Education, like kinship, helps to reproduce culturally and also regulate the roles of individuals. Just like these three institutions, the others also play a role in resolving other selection pressures. Kinship, religion and education, however, will be the main focus of this paper given that they are the institutions that mainly aid to the selection pressures of reproduction, population and regulation. Kinship is the institution that resolves the issue of reproduction (until the population gets large). As stated previously, a society needs to reproduce biologically, social structurally and culturally. According to Webster s New World Dictionary, a hero is defined as any person, male or female, admired for courage, nobility, etc. (Webster s New World Dictionary, hero 1 ). Webster s Pocket Dictionary, comparably, defines a hero as a person of great courage, spirit, etc., especially one who has undergone great danger or difficulty (Webster s Pocket Dictionary, hero 3 ). Heroes are not born heroes. Yes, everyone is born with the ability to be a hero, but in time, they may or may not become one. In our society, heroes are greatly acclaimed in the media. Whenever some person takes a bullet for a loved one or saves a child from a burning building, there is a huge deal made about it, and they become known as heroes. But a person does not have to physically save someone s life to be a hero. A hero can also be someone who simply stands up for what he or she believes. Much like Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird, a hero can be someone who knows what is right and does the right thing, even if he is ridiculed for doing so. Also, whether or not a person is a hero depends on the perspective of the person. For instance, a little girl may think her father is the greatest man alive, but her first grade classmate does not think so instead, she thinks her father is a hero. • 38. Characteristics Of Post Impressionism Post Impressionism encompasses a wide range of distinct artistic styles that all share the common motivation of responding to the opticality of the Impressionist movement. The stylistic variations assembled under the general banner of Post Impressionism range from the scientifically oriented Neo Impressionism to the lush Symbolism, but all concentrated on the subjective vision of the artist. Symbolic and highly personal meanings were particularly important to Post Impressionists such as Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh. Rejecting interest in depicting the observed world, they instead looked to their memories and emotions in order to connect with the viewer on a deeper level. Structure, order, and the optical effects of color dominated the aesthetic vision of Post Impressionists like Paul Cézanne, Georges Seurat, and Paul Signac. Rather than merely represent their surroundings, they relied upon the interrelations of color and shape to describe the world around them. Despite the various individualized styles, most Post Impressionists focused on abstract form and pattern in the application of paint to the surface of the canvas. The label Post Impressionism was never used by the Post Impressionists themselves. It was coined in 1910 by Roger Fry when he staged an exhibition in London called Manet and the Post Impressionists (Munry, 2017).
