School Is East Campus At Rappahannock Hall
Purpose:
The goal of this proposal is recommend that the school makes east campus while including
Rappahannock hall to no longer be dry residence hall for those twenty one in age and older to try
and decrease the high DUI rate here at CNU.
Summary:
CNU student currently must go off campus to consume alcohol no matter the age leaving them to
find a ride or most of the time, drive. This leaves the students at a high risk of drinking too much
and then driving home from said off campus location. As a twenty one year old individual the law
gives you the right to drink and as college students no matter your affiliation or social openness
students will drink. Some students may end up drinking more than others but in the end a
student will drink in his/her college career and CNU forces students to do this off campus
making things less safe for the individual. At CNU they have such a strict dry residence hall
regulation that it is possible that one time you get in trouble you are kicked out of school. Due to
the regulations students go off campus to a bar or a friends house to consume alcohol. Most
survey recipients say they often drive to said location to drink and then because it is most
convenient drive themselves home. Most students reported that when they received their DUI that
they were blowing between .09 .11 slightly above the legal limit but still a DUI. The students when
surveyed most said they would have rather just drank in their room so they did not have to go

Significance Of The Sadler Report
The Sadler Report was a report written in 1832 by Michael Thomas Sadler. Its full name is The
Sadler Report: Report from the Committee on the Bill to Regulate the Labour of Children in the

recorded in Heritage of Western Civilization. The original text was published by House of
Commons in 1832 but no exact published date is provided.

working rights that people are still striving for nowadays. For example, Hong Kong set up the
standard working hour committee in 2013 concerning employees long working hours. The Sadler

British Broadcasting Research Paper
The British Broadcasting Corporation is synonymous with British culture and is one of the most
beloved broadcasting corporations in the world today. Founded in 1922 by Scottish engineer John
Reith, the BBC s philosophy has remained the same throughout almost a century. John Reith was
the BBC s general manager when it was created in 1922 and its director general in 1927 when it
became a public corporation ( John Reith. ). Reith felt as he had a duty to improve England. He
believed that broadcastingshould be held to the highest standards and guided by responsibility. He

The BBC took a number of steps to comfort the public. During the war, the BBC s hours
increased exponentially along with staff numbers. By 1946, the BBC staff had more than
doubled (Cain 42 43). In mid 1940, the BBC s news readers started identifying themselves so
listeners could be certain they were hearing BBC news. Yorkshireman Wilfred Pickles became a
legendary reporter with his distinctive northern accent ( 1940s. ) Not even the headquarters of
the BBC was spared during the vicious war. On October 15th, 1941, a German bomb hit the
Broadcasting House. Seven people died in the blast. Bruce Belfage, who was reading the nine o
clock news at the time, continued as if nothing had occurred, despite being covered in grime. (
1940s. ) In 1941, the BBC also started its V for Victory campaign. V stood for victory in English,
French, and Flemish. Audience members were asked to write Vs everywhere they could to
represent victory for Allied forces. Unfortunately, Germany used the V for Victory against
Britain to represent an ancient German war cry, Viktoria . The BBC campaign was dismantled
in 1942, yet still remains iconic in the war ( 1940s. ). The BBC served as a ray of hope to many
listeners. It united the public in their sorrow for the war and boosted public morale. The BBC
brought many people together in their anticipation for warfront news. The BBC is believed to have

Argumentative Essay On Indiana House Elections
With the 2016 general election coming up, the citizens of Indiana will be electing their members
of Congress to represent the state and its districts. The Indiana Senate race that has received a lot
of attention is the race between Todd Young and Evan Bayh. An Indiana House race that has been
receiving a lot of attention is the District 9 race between Shelli Yoder and Trey Hollingsworth.
When analyzing these races, a wide variety of factors, such as demographics, money, and scandals
should to be taken into consideration. In terms of the Senate race in Indiana, there have been
fourteen shifts in party power in that particular seat over time (Ballotpedia). But in general, Indiana
has been a Republican leaning state throughout much of its history. In 2004, Evan Bayh(D) was
elected to the Indiana Senate. In 2010, Dan Coats (R) was elected to the seat. In the very next
election, Joe Donnelly (D) took over the seat. Dan Coats retook the seat in 2014 and is now
stepping down to make room for either Evan Bayh (D) or Todd Young (R) (Indiana Secretary of
State).
Evan Bayh originally had a six to seven point lead over Todd Young in the polls, but policy issues
played a part in negating that lead (Monmouth). For example, on the issue of ... Show more content

Indiana being mostly red already gave Todd Young and Trey Hollingsworth somewhat of a head

not strong enough to overcome the accusations that he was using his time in office to explore other
career options. Additionally, the demographics are not in favor of the Democratic candidate in the
Senate race and certainly not in the 9th District race. There is definitely not enough of a minority

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Outsourcing Digital Marketing
The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing Your Website s Digital Marketing
There is no doubt that the option to outsource digital marketing activities for your company
website is appealing. Outsourcing is at most times convenient and blows less of a hole in your
budget than hiring a full fledged in house team. You may securely leave your company s marketing
to a specialized target= _blank Digital Marketing Agency or, better still, utilize the services of a
skilled (and affordable) freelancer, while you concentrate your entire focus on the areas of your
business that need your undivided attention.
Not all companies can afford to hire digital specialists, who belong to a new breed of journeymen
of all trades in online marketing having skills in SEO, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But keep in mind the advantages that an agency can bring to you a team of freelancers with
various skills and their own selection process may beat the extra cost.
Do not forget that even with freelancers and outsourced agencies you get what you pay for. If
you pay for cheap SEO, you may end up with poor quality links and content that could get you in
Google s black books. If a candidate promises 50,000 Instagram friends for $100, these are likely
to be fake friends. A $5 an hour website marketer is equally suspect if such people do not value
their own time, how can you expect them to value the work they deliver? 3.Flexibility:
Outsourcing lets you hire only when you need work done, especially if the projects do not have
mission critical deadlines. Freelancers are often more flexible than employees on your payroll,
working 9 to 5. There are cases when you may want to hire a freelancer despite having a small in
house team, to handle all the extra work that your in house team cannot manage. In such cases, you
can achieve a fine balance of productivity between projects on deadline and more flexible

Concert Review Essay
I would first like to start this concert review off stating that I do not know really anything about
how to play and write music, and all the aspects of getting the melody and harmony right in the
music. What might be simple and have a good steadiness throughout the music to me might be
elabrate and unsteady to the performer. When I listen to music, I do listen to the music itself but I
am more likely to relate to the lyrics so that is my main focus. So for this review, my insight on
how the music is may not be that accurate. This concert review is about Bill Miller concert. I
thought he was a great musician with a pretty good voice. He is very down to Earth not only just
talking but through his lyrics. Within the lyrics, I could hear his Native American ancestry come
alive. He played some Native American songs on what I call a Native American flute and
something similar to a claranet. Then he did some original songs with the acustic guitar and a
cover song which I will be reviewing. He first play an original song called Chasing... Show more

strong do to the emotion behind it. As he played you can see and hear his heart behind it. He
played as some poeple would say as if he was rocking it which his was. He also sang lounder then
he did with the other song which projects more emotion and heart behind it. My personal opinion
on this song it that it is beautiful on how he puts his greving from the loss of his son and his

The Revolving Dilemma of Ethics in Gun Control
The topic of gun control laws has risen to become one of the most controversial ethical issues of
the twenty first century in the United States of America. The US is world leading in terms of gun
ownership, according to a 2012 Congressional Research Service report, per 100 residents there are
112.6, meaning there is more than one gun for each American citizen (Krouse). This means that
there are more guns in the US than in any other country, with over double and even triple what the
next closest countries have. There are two perspectives to this ethical issue, those for and against
stricter government gun control laws. Activists who support stricter ... Show more content on

The first facet of ethical significance is that gun control threatens to take away citizens rights to
bear arms which was provided in the Second Amendment of the US Constitution, discriminating
against those with mental illness, diminishing our ability for self defense and taking away
culturally accepted ethical and moral standards. The Second Amendment, according to the Cornell
Law definition, reads: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the
right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (Cornell Law). Because the
majority believe they have the right to gun ownership, taking away this deemed right by tightening
gun control laws may be deemed unethical as it is rescinding a right that has been held as an
American value since

The Role Of Superheroes In The Film Guardians Of The Galaxy
What is a superhero? Some would argue that a superhero is a benevolent fictional character with
superhuman powers, such as Superman. Although this definition holds some truths, there is so
much more when delving into what a superhero actually is. Superhero s are people that make
immense sacrifices, take extraordinary risks, and take the initiative to help make a society a better
place for the greater good. Guardians of the Galaxy, a film produced by James Gunn, did a fantastic
job at accurately portraying the true meaning and expectations of our superheroes, all while
maintaining a fun and enjoyable film above the deeper meanings.

where the Guardians are in a ship that is about to crash and Groot sacrifices himself by forming a

ultimate sacrifice that any superhero can display. Another interesting thing about Groot is that he is

The Pros And Cons Of Sports Stadiums
Sports teams are a symbol of a cities pride. Take for example the Chicago Cubs. They create a
sense of loyalty toward that city. However, none of that would happen without a stadium. Stadiums
and teams can play a very important role in a cities economy, or they could also be irrelevant. To
decide whether or not they are useful or not you must first understand each side of the argument. So
first, let s examine the pros of having a stadiumwithin your city. Then, we will discuss the harms of
having one. And finally, decide which side is more beneficial for the economy.
Proponents of subsidizing sports stadiums is a great decision because the economic impact it
will have on the community is great for two main reasons. First, sports stadiums are massive
construction projects. In fact, one could compare them to a medieval cathedral in their attempts
to dominate a skyline and inspire pride in one s city And, just like these cathedrals, they are very
expensive, and massive building projects that would require many years of hard painstaking labor.
For example, the proposed stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California, was
predicted to cost $3 billion and add 22,000 construction jobs to the economy of Los Angeles,
California. Although construction jobs do eventually disappear once a stadium is constructed once
the games begin, so does the massive consumer spending. For example, more than 3.5 million
people saw the St. Louis Cardinals play at Busch Stadium in 2015.

The Apportionment Problem
Module 5 Assignment 1
Bobbi Brooks
Argosy University, Seattle
For this assignment, I needed to find out how many representatives are going to be assigned to
each of the 10 states in the newly democratic nations. The first step was to add all of the state s
populations together. The total population is 532,188. The next step was to divide each individual
states population by the total population to see how many seats that each state should receive for
representation. After I have a percentage, I give a representative for each whole number. Once I
add up the whole numbers, I have 95 out of my 100 seats spoken for. The remaining seats need to

Per our conversation in class, we are only doing a comparison between 2 states. I am comparing
between state 1 and state 2. To come up with the unfairness, I need to come up with the average of
constituents.
State 1 5,158 State 2 5092
I now divide the population and divide it by the number of representatives per state
State 1 5158 / 3 = 1,719 people per representative
State 2 5092 / 7 = 728 people per representative
Now I take the larger number and minus the smaller number 1719 728 = 991
Now I take the difference and divide it by the smaller number 991 / 728 = 1.36
The unfairness to State 1 is 1.36%
Explain how changes in state boundaries or populations could affect the balance of representation
in this congress. Provide an example using the results above.
If the population fluctuates, it changes the unfairness level as well as the amount of people that are
being represented by the representative. If State 1 s population decreases, there are less people for

The Digital Film Making Industry Essays
The Digital Film Making Industry
Digital filmmaking is quickly changing everything about filmmaking. Everyone from professionals
to amateurs are currently seeing great advancements in many aspects of the industry.
Every year thousands of independent films are made. The vast majority of these films are
created using digital cameras and basic home computers. A few years ago this was impossible
due the sheer cost of quality 35 millimeter cameras, and extremely expensive editing equipment.
Now anyone can make a relatively high quality digital film with a 1000 dollar camera and a 2000
dollar computer. With a setup like this films can be shot and edited, also special effectsand CG

Independent filmmakers are not just using the internet to distribute their movies but also selling
these digital movies to film studios. Miguel Arteta s Chuck and Buck was completed for about
500,000 dollars using a completely digital process. If they would have used standard 35
millimeter film it would have cost them 1.4 million dollars to shoot. They sold the movie for 1.1
million and made a nice profit of 600,000 dollars. If they would have shot the film using 35
millimeter cameras they would have lost 300,000 dollars.
Currently about 99% of all major movies are shot are done so using standard 35 millimeter film.
The film is then scanned into a computer, edited and then put back on to 35 millimeter film. Each
copy of the film costs about 1000 dollars to make and weighs about 70 pounds. Digital films
however can be stored on large servers or in physical form in DVDs, which is much more
practical, and with today s technology hard to differentiate form analog film. Some movie studios
and directors have already switched completely to digital. Digital cameras have progressed
enough that their image quality is close to the traditional format. Spike Lee shot both of his 2000
films, Bamboozled and The Original Kings of Comedy using Sony digital cameras. These cameras
are relatively cheap and are affordable enough for the many people to own.

Theories Of Incest Relationships
Aside from disturbed family relationships and lack of spousal sexual activity as common
preceding factors, there are innate psychological reasons why people engage themselves in incest
relationships. Westermarck in 1891, suggested that men do not mate with their mothers and sisters
not because of social rules, but because they are simply not turned on by those they were reared
with. Westermarck s idea was simple. Men and women cannot recognize their relatives as relatives,
so they have no way of preventing inbreeding as such. They can use a simple psychological rule
that works ninety nine times out of a hundred to avert an incestuous relationship. They can avoid
mating with those whom they know well during childhood. Sexual aversion to one s closest

The Us Treasury Yield Curve
Discuss and evaluate the major theories evaluating the shape of the yield curve. In your answer
also discuss the uses of the yield curve in financial markets, why strips are used in the construction
of yield curves and why investors would want to invest in zero coupon bonds or strips.
The yield curve is a graph that plots the yields of similar quality bonds against their maturities,
ranging from shortest to longest. The relationship between yield and maturity is referred to as the
term structure of interest rates. The Treasury yield curve is the base or benchmark for pricing
bonds and setting yields in other areas of the debt market. Moreover, the shape of the yield curve
is constructed from U.S Treasury strips which are zero coupon ... Show more content on

However, there is no explanation for inverted or flat curves in this theory.
The market segmentation theory however, suggests that s there are two distinct markets for short
and long term bonds. The demand and supply in the long term bond market is the determinant of
long term yields whereas, the demand and supply in the short term bond market is the determinant
of short term rates. Under this theory, it is implied that the future interest rates have very little to
do with the shape of the Treasury yield curve. With a greater demand for shorter maturity T bills
relative to T bonds, the yield curve would typically be upward sloping. However, this theory doesn
t explain why interest rates on various maturities have positive correlations.
Lastly, the preferred habitat theory which is a hybrid of the three aforementioned theories, reject
the view that the risk premium must rise uniformly with maturity. Therefore this theory assumes
that investors who seek liquidity tend to prefer the short part of the Treasury curve. However, as a
result of the demand for short term T bills being greater than long term T bonds there is an upward
slope in the Treasury yield curve. In essence, this theory further modifies the market segmentation
theory by implying that investors will switch from their preferred bond markets if premiums are
adequate.
Yield curves are used in financial markets as a measure of

The Importance Of Happiness In My Life
Happiness to me is the feeling freedom after finally being out of debt; to be able to focus on
school instead of working 40+ hours a week. Happiness is proving all the people who doubt me
and lack faith in the fact that I m making it. Happiness is getting to buy some pants, and socks and
not worry about not having enough money to eat for the next two weeks. Happinessis making a
stranger smile; filling their empty bellies. Happiness for me is relief; a weight falling off my

Police Use And Excessive Force
In most cases the police is permitted to use any form of necessary force to suppress a suspected
criminal with minimal consequences if they use excessive force ( Police Use Of Force ).
According to the current law all law enforcement officers should use only the amount of force
necessary to weaken an incident, make an arrest, and protect themselves and others from harm (
PoliceUse of Force ). Officers receive guidance from their individual agencies, but no universal
set of rules that governs when officers should use force and how much ( Police Use Of Force ).
Police use of excessive force against the unarmed public should be illegal because it lowers the
amount of unnecessary deaths, reduces riots, and would decrease racism.
To begin the police has caused many unnecessary deaths throughout the United States. More than
920 people have been killed by the police in 2015 ( 5 Facts about Police Brutality in the United
States That Will Shock You ). In Ferguson, Missouri 18 year old Michael Brown was shot and
killed by police officer Darren Wilson. Mr. Johnson a witness at the scene, says that his friend
was shot once from behind and then turned to face the police officer while raising his arms in the
air. According to Mr Johnson, the officer fired several more shots at Mr. Brown before he fell to
the ground ( Ferguson protests:What we know about Michael Brown s last minutes ). Although Mr.
Brown was fleeing from the officer, there was no need for the officer to shoot Brown.

Comparison Of Alexander Mcqueen And Marc Jacobs
What do Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen have in
common? They are designers who have challenged ideas on gender norms. (Marcangell, pg.1)
McQueen fearlessly challenged the conventions of fashion. Rare among designers, he saw beyond
clothing s physical constraints to its conceptual and imaginative possibilities. (Victoria and Albert

The Effect Of Bacterial And Fungal Presence On Bacterial...
Rationale and Background.
To date, the majority of microbiological study of soils have centered on bacterial and fungal
presence in the context of plant mutualism [Figure 2]. Additionally, analyses of microbial
biomass have typically utilized indirect models, such as change in soil carbon levels, as a
measurement of microbial growth dynamics (Holden and Treseder 2014). When emphasizing
ecological roles of microbes as nutrient cyclers, this is a useful methodology. However, it has led
to a void in understanding of viral significance in these systems as well as a lack of detailed
species level identifications of bacterial and viral communities prior to and after fire events. The
few abundance assays completed regarding bacteria in soil indicate that one gram of soil contains
108 to 109 bacteria and 109 to 1010 viruses (Williamson 2005, Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). This
incredibly high number necessitates additional research, if only due to the fact that these organisms
numerically overwhelm the system (Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). It would be irresponsible to
ignore such a significant portion of the environment and attempt to come to ideal land management
practices. It has become clear from even the broad scale respiration and nutrient assays completed
that bacterial and viral communities are not a monolith; in different locations, phylogenetic
community composition varies strongly (Williamson 2005, Goberna et al. 2015, Wang et al. 2015,

Why Was Erwin Rommel The Main Cause Of The Second World War
Was Erwin Rommel the main cause of Germany s victories in 1941 43 in Africa.
Erwin Rommel was a German Field Marshal, one of the most outstanding commanders of the
Second World War. The ones they usually say about: it is a pity that he was an enemy. He was one
of the most liked by soldiers and a folk hero of Nazi Germany, and this was actively used for Nazi
propaganda. Since 1941, the figure of Rommel (or as he was called in Africa fox of the desert )
became the most noticeable among the generals of Wehrmacht. He was the only person who had
such a stunning jump in the military career from Hauptmann to field marshal. His skills and

Rommel was in Germany for the reason of sickness, Montgomery started massive artillery

Nazi Germany. Anybody who came under the spell of his personality turned into a real soldier.
He seemed to know what the enemy were like and how they would react. (Theodor Werner) This
is a quote from one of the officers who served with the Desert Fox about Rommel. After the fail
of anti Hitler s coup in 1944, one of its members, dying in tortures, named Rommel, and that
determined the future of the great commander. On October 14th, Hitler sent to Rommel who
was recovering from the wound two officers, giving him in honor of past services a choice to
commit a suicide and leave as a hero or a to be brought before a Public Tribunal, which in face
meant an automatic death sentence . I shall be dead in a quarter of an hour ( The Forced Suicide
of Field Marshall Rommel, 1944) said the brave man and his wife took poison. Yet Rommel, as
well as other Nazi generals, carries the share of responsibility for the world tragedy. He remained
loyal to Hitler, because, being in full confidence that fulfills his military duty, took no notice of non

Death Is Not Master By Thomas Miller
Let them die They want eternity In May Miller s Poem Death is not Master the persona explains
that death is not the master that will increase the desperation but it is a way to become eternally
calm. Many poems on the topic of death explain how it is as powerful of a thing that fears the
existence of human beings, but Miller s persona death is a way to achieve eternal serenity. She
explains death as something that can end all the worldly tears, desires and tension and transform
the human memory into a sculpture which is unaware of tensions. Miller s persona believes that
blocking death will be unfair as it will be a barrier to the everlasting happiness and calmness that
lies inside the grave. Miller s persona is an elaboration of Christian beliefs that death ends all
worldly problems as an eternal life starts after the death. The eternal life of a human or corpse
after death is same as that of sculpture which shines at night and remain in one place free of all
tensions and problems. As the life after death is full of calmness and happiness, so it must not
be blocked and everyone must welcome it to gain the everlasting lasting life. Thus, in Miller s
perspective death is not the master; instead, it is the slave of eternal life of serenity and calmness
that lies ahead. So, no one should try to become a barrier by blocking the death. Repetition of you
six times and I three times creates the relationship between I and You who love each other a lot and

How To Collect Replica Coins
If you re looking for a fun hobby to do with your kids, you may want to look into collecting
replica coins. This is an interesting and fun hobby for kids who enjoy history or who identify
with certain periods of time such as the biblical era or the Old West. Here are some things you
may want to know about collecting replica coins. Replica Coins Are Very Close To The
Originals Replica coins are fun to own because they look almost exactly like the real thing. This
whisks you back in time or to a far off place where the coins were originally used. Replicas aren t
exact duplicates because that would be counterfeiting. Also, various coin collecting
organizations have regulations that coin makers tend to comply with that identify a replica
coin. The wording may be slightly different or the coin size may be larger or smaller. This
eliminates confusion over whether the coin is real when it comes to placing a value on it.
However, to the casual collector, the coins appear the same as the original, but they are vastly
less expensive to collect. This makes it affordable to add to your coin collection so your kids can
watch it grow over the years.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Effects Of Sports Injuries On Young Athletes
In this day and age, Back to school actually refers to Back to sports . Children become more and
more physically active. They enroll in a variety of sports activities, whether in their own school or
in community based sport programs. As a result of this tremendous life style change in young
people, the number of sports related injuriesin young athletes is escalating nationwide.
Statistics report that sports injuries are the second leading cause of injuries in school. Roughly 60
million children ages 6 to 18 participate in organized sport activites. The number of young athletes
seen in hospital emergency rooms for sports related injuries is approximately 3 million, with
additional 5 million athletes who visit their primary care physician. The American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons reports that 3.5 million children are treated for sports injuries each year
roughly half of them suffering from overuse injuries. The organization Safe Kids Worldwide
reports that every 25 seconds a young athlete visits the emergency room due to a severe sports injury
.
With these alarming numbers in mind, an increase in children s safety while playing sports is
inevitable.
While regular physical activities benefit the normal and healthy growth in children, they can be
extremely harmful if the level of activity becomes overly intense or extreme.
Today, children start with competitive sports as early as age 6 or 7. I applaud their discipline and
determination to be healthy and physically

children at tend such schools could be considered arbitrary action taken without due process of
law. (Charles Wollenberg, All Deliberate Speed, 1976, p. 127) This case could not have gone to the
Supreme Court because the law of the state said nothing about segregating Mexican Americans in
the Constitution (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views5h99.htm) . On
Brown vs. the Board of Education it was a little different, because Black was considered a

race, as long as it provides a separate but equal law (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books

Now that we know a little bit more information about the trial, lets learn why all the Mexican
American parents got together in order for their kids to get the same education as all the other
Caucasian kids in the neighborhood. It all started in the late 1920s 1930s. As the Mexican and
Mexican American population started to increase in California, more white Americans started
getting scared; this led to segregation in schools. Not only were schools getting segregated but
housing was also being segregated as well (Maria Blanco, The Lasting Impact of Mendez v.

Borges The Garden Of Forking Paths
From main ideas to details, the mention of time is the essence of Borges story, The Garden of
Forking Paths, and is its central theme. The story begins by discussing dates and timing of a
military attack and ends by mentioning the prior day s bombing of the artillery. The idea of time is
essential to the story in many ways, but especially the sequence of events told by Yu Tsun. When he
first hears that Runeberg has been killed, he goes into thought about timeand how it affects man;
Was I now going to die? Then I reflected on everything that happens to a man precisely, precisely
now. Centuries of centuries and only in the present do things happen... (Borges 653). This passage,

The story is about an angel who looks like a sickly elderly man with wings. Readers see how the
people of the neighborhood treat the angel throughout the story. They throw things at him, keep
him in a chicken coop, make him a freak show attraction, and treat him like a wild animal.
However, on the last page of the story, I found a passage that I consider significant to the story.
The owner of the house and property on which the angel fell, Pelayo, offers some humane
treatment to the angel. [The angel] could scarcely eat and his antiquarian eyes had also become
so foggy that he went bumping into posts. All he had left were the bare cannulae of his last
feathers. Pelayo threw a blanket over him and extended him the charity of letting him sleep in the
shed (Marquez 932). Here, after the angel had been a caged spectacle, Pelayo finally treats the
angel as he would a human, not an animal. The theme for this story could be humanity, or lack there
of, and its consequences. The angel, in its sickly and ugly state, could have been testing the people
of the neighborhood and their humanity. As the people continued to treat the angel poorly, the
angel became sicker. However, once Pelayo treated the angel with humanity, even in its unfortunate
state, it regained enough strength to fly away. I believe this small gesture of kindness saved the

As of today, there are still on some parts of Clonmacnoise: a great stone church, other buildings,
three high crosses, two round towers, a Romanesque sculpture and grave slabs. The high crosses
were generally built in Ireland around the eighth century and the tenth century. They were a
representation of the monastic civilization. These high crosses reached their finest form at
Clonmacnoise. According to Flower (1954), the high crosses could be divided into two groups.
One of them, named as Leinster group, had crosses made of granite. The other is known as the
Ulster group. On the other hand, Françoise Henry proposed at the same time that the high crosses
could be chronologically divided into three groups: crosses from the ninth century, from the tenth
century and from the twelfth century. Their height reached four metres or even more. They have
the shape of Latin crosses, with their base as a truncated pyramid. Their function is still being
pondered, although there are some suggestions for it. One of them explains that while some crosses

When talking about the troubles that people face and the issues that society faces, it is important to
understand that they both go hand in hand. The private troubles that one faces make contribute to
the public issues that the society faces, and vice versa. Growing up there were a few significant
events that would be considered my private troubles yet public issues contuted to making the
troubles. Growing up I was a fine example of mills theory Neither the life of an individual nor the
history of a society can be understood without understanding both (Mills 3). One clear example of a
troublethat I have face in my life is the suicide of my papa. He was dealing with his personal
troubles to keep our family afloat, finish his education, struggling with internal self esteem, and
PTSD from the military. His PTSD would show up in the way that he would treat my mom and
me. I would consider this a personal trouble because it what he felt internally and what my mom
and went through during his death. My family went through many rough times with keeping
food on the tables and my papa s PTSD affecting our everyday life. Finally, one day it seemed as
if hiss PTSD took the very last thing, him. He faced many troubles as a child but it wasn t until he
joined the military and got deployed that the troubles stared to hit home. Because he was struggling
with providing for the family he felt less than, affecting his self esteem. He had his personal
triubles and he may have felt that he

The Pros And Cons Of The Bombing Of Hiroshima
I think that It was a good idea for the U.S to drop the bombs on Hiroshima. One reason why I
think it was a good idea is because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and expected us to not hit
back. Secondly, if we did not bomb them there would have been millions of lives lost instead of
just thousands. Third, the U.S needed a way to end the war quickly so the Soviet Union did not
march into Japan. Lastly, the Japanese would not surrender so they had to get them to surrender.
The Japanese provoked the U.S to drop the atomic bomb on them by bombing pearl harbor and
killing people and sinking ships. If the U.S did not drop the bomb and did a land evasion millions
of American lives would have been lost but if they dropped the two bombs only thousands

Examples Of Psychoanalysis In To Kill A Mockingbird
Psychoanalytic Theory of To Kill a Mockingbird The psychoanalytic theory was devised by a
psychologist named Sigmund Freud in 1885. He explains that the human mind and body is
essentially driven by sex. It controls how one develops and how one functions on a day to day
basis. Through their development and growth a child will go through three stages of sexual
development: oral, anal, and genital. How they go through these stages or problems that occur
during their advancement can cause complications or flaws that become prominent later on in
their life. Another aspect of his theory is the id, ego and the superego. The id is the selfless part
of your brain, it sees the world and all beings as equal. The opposite is the ego, that part of the...

This could be attributed to his need to prove himself in every way and the fact that he cannot
take anything lightly because his ego is do delicate he believes if anybody is remotely rude to
him he must prove his dominance. An example of this in the story To Kill a Mockingbird is the
day he finally snaps at Mrs. Dubose. She is an old woman who sits on her porch knitting
everyday shouting incredibly rude remarks at the kids who walk by. One day Jem and Scout are
walking home coming from town where they had just bought a few things for themselves when
she does it again. Jem is unable to control himself, giving into his id, and destroys all the plans
and landscape she has in her front yard. Jem does not feel good about himself as a person, as a
result from the lack of attention from parental figures, and is unable to see that Mrs. Dubose is
simply a cross old woman who does not have anything better to do with her life at her old age. He
takes her words very personally and must show that he has the power. This situation also relates to
the battle between the id and superego. Jem knew subconsciously that destroying her yard was not
the right thing to do however his selfish thoughts wanted nothing more than to retaliate. His ego
ended up agreeing with his id and he acted

A Proposed Easy-to-Use Classification of Mandibular Fractures
There are many classifications put forward for describing mandibular fractures. Most of these
classifications are not without complexity, making it difficult to use it for clinicians specially in
emergency circumstances. Some of them are very comprehensive and gather too much information
which can be good for theoretical purposes but not for practical utilization in clinics and hospitals.
Clinicians prefer to use easy and ready to be used type of classification. Le forte classification for
maxillary fractures though not very comprehensive but still used by most clinician because of its
simplicity. Similarly recently Graham Mount has proposed a new classification for dental caries.

Selfishness In Macbeth
Macbeth by William Shakespeare is the story of how one mans hubris destroys him. From it, we
can extrapolate and comment on how in society people have a choice. We can live a life of
altruism, valour and nobility or one fuelled by ambition, greed and violence. Macbeths journey
from the former to the later showcases to the audience the dangers of selfishness. It prompts us
to question our view of life do we succumb to the false promises of evil, as tempting as they are,
or do we remain defiant and true to ourselves. Shakespeare s play is a very clear warning against
listening to the dark forces that are constantly around us. In the initial scenes of the play,
Shakespeare creates a very deliberate first impression of Macbeth and the... Show more content on

It contains the ominous line the greatest is behind . These words, though ambiguous, suggest to
the audience that that Macbeth believes the greatest has already been achieved (i.e. it is his
destiny to be king) so the next steps will be easier. The next steps include getting rid of Duncan.
Through his aside he describes to the audience the thoughts running through his head. He is
battling with his innate goodness if good, why do I yield to that suggestion whose horrible
image doth unfix my hair and make his heart knock at his ribs . His language reveals that he is
considering murdering king Duncan, though he would loathe doing it. However at the end of
the aside Macbeth decides not to follow through with the murder if chance will have me king,
why chance may crown me without my stir and instead leave it to chance as he knows he should
be loyal to king Duncan our duties are to your throne . From this aside the audience learns that
Macbeth wants greatness to be his but the horribleness of murder and his loyalty to the throne are
preventing him. At this point Macbeth is still a good man even though he is flawed. He is aware
of his own ambition but is not allowing to undermine his integrity. An aside is also used following
a meeting between Duncan, Macbeth and Banquo. In this scene Shakespeare uses dramatic irony
for when Duncan refers to the traitor Cawdor ne says he was a gentleman upon which I built an
absolute trust . This foreshadows how

Argumentative Essay On Dog Fighting
Over the years many agree that dogs are one of the most loyal companions that people can get their
hands upon. They are willing do almost anything for their masters, hunt, cuddle, and even fight
other dogs. According to Orhan Yilmaz, dog fighting has been going on for centuries as a past
time. When a dogenters a fight, there is almost always one dog getting injured, sometimes it is so
bad that the owner of the dog carries it away in a bag to disguise it, just so the police do not see
the injured creature. Having dog fights in an area repeatedly will end up attracting more crime
even which causes only more trouble. A dog trained for fighting ends up becoming somewhat
savage and likely to bite more people, causing injury or even death sometimes and since the animal

is in the tens of thousands. (ASPCA) Even though dog fighting is considered a felony in all fifty
states, it needs to be tracked more and make the culprits get locked in a cell for what they have
done because it harms the dogs that are fighting, it ends up bringing more crime to the area where
this takes place, and also makes it dangerous for veterinarians to work on a dog that is now
potentially a hazard.
Oliver 1 Dog fighting always ends up harming dogs quite severely, leaving permeant marks such
as bite or claw marks which make the dog look tainted in the eyes of some, rather an animal that s
being used against its will. Dogs for fighting may be born, bought, or even stolen for the sole use of
fighting another dog. Though different breeds are used in dog fighting, the most common breed
associated is the American Pit Bull Terrier. (Destreza 281) The dogs used for fighting get very
little compassion in their lives, living alone with only one thing being taught to them, to fight all
other animals that they see. If a dog tries to escape from a dog fight instead of fighting, the owner
normally will end up disposing of the animal. When a dog is not successful in a fight,

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Oprah Winfrey s Speech

Auditorium, she proceeded to say that it is going to follow you for the rest of your life. For much
of her politically charged and inspirational speech, she rallied the group of more than nine hundred

this is true because there is so much going on for humans with the media and the internet people
are becoming more hysterical, before when we didn t have all these things influencing us life was
much simpler. Ms. Winfrey encouraged her audience to pick a problem, any problem, and do
something about it. she said. Use your gifts to illuminate the darkness in the world. Oprah Winfrey
mentioned to the group of Graduates to become the new editorial gatekeepers, an ambitious
army of truth seekers who will arm themselves intelligence, with the insight and with the facts
necessary to strike down deceit. She told them that they are the ones who are going to keep the
people in the media who share false news in check. I love how she also shared stories about her
mentor, the late Maya Angelou who was a poet an academy winning author, actress and civil
right activist. Oprah Winfrey stated that when she opened The Oprah Winfrey Leadership
Academy for Girls in South Africa back in 2007 that will be her greatest legacy. She said I

Ukiyo E Influence On Society
For over 250 years, Japan was under a strict military dictatorship, oppressing the social classes of
their freedom to explore literature and the arts. However, from the 1670s through 1865 was the
Tokugawa period, also known as the Edo period, where Japan was guided to internal peace and
economic growth (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). Not only had Japan found stability in
the Edo period, creativity flourished from the lower class of artisans and merchants through the
exploration of ukiyo e printmaking. The term, ukiyo e, is a combination of uki (floating), yo
(world), and e (pictures) that originated as a Buddhist term to express impermanence of human
life. Ukiyo e was experimented and developed to become a popular art form that displayed... Show

Professional Plumbing Contractors
Are you in need of a professional plumbing contractor for your business? What you may not know
is a reliable and professional pluming contractor is not the same as a residential plumber. There
may be the same types of pipes, but a lot more is involved.
A professional plumbing contractor in Alameda needs to have special tools, training, experience,
and a set of required classifications. Fixing a clogged toilet in a bathroom will be the same as
fixing a clog in an office building. However, the main difference is the scale of the work. The
preparation needed in an office building, retail establishment, or other large building will be
different.
The size of the building is typically the main difference between residential and commercial
plumbing jobs. There may be numerous floors, different types of problems, and time involved. Any

reliable and professional plumbing contractors in Alameda. Multiple floors also affect the time

Time Factors
The time a professional plumbing contractor needs to complete a job is longer to do than a

The Foundation And Provision Of Nursing
The foundation and provision of nursing care is guided by key values of nursing and definitions of
nursing. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN] (2008) highlights five values
that represent the core of nursing practice. These values include altruism, autonomy, human dignity,
integrity, and social justice. This essay will focus on my top three values of altruism, human
dignity, and autonomy, how these values are currently represented in my life, and how these values
led to my own unique philosophy and definition of nursing. Altruism The University of Wisconsin
Oshkosh College of Nursing (n.d.) describes altruism as an unselfish concern for the welfare of
others (Values section, para 1). The AACN (2008) describes how... Show more content on

Human dignity goes along with my expression of altruism in my life. I express human dignity
very similar to the way I express altruism, but I express this value further in my work. One main
way I express this is through the provision of modesty and privacy in all ways possible while
caring for patients. It is as simple as using least exposing methods and being respectful and
professional when providing care. I also respect human dignity by giving my patients the power of
choice and respecting the wishes that they express. I believe this is important because the hospital
environment leaves people vulnerable to have their dignity ignored. Nursing researchers
Papastavrou, Efstathiou, and Andreou (2017) describe this problem by stating threats to health
were considered more important than those to dignity and the older people endured threats to
dignity in favour of treating the health problem (p. 94). With this in mind, I work particularly hard
to find ways to uphold human dignity always in my work and throughout my life. Autonomy
Autonomy simply means the right to self determination, but it is a key part of nursing care
(University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing, n.d., Values section, para 2). This is
demonstrated through a study by Rao, Kumar, and McHugh (2017) which found that hospitals with

Martin Luther s Jr And The Christian Believer Free
Martin Luther s three major treaties were attempts to persuade Pope Leo X and Roman Catholics
that the theology of the Reformation was not a novelty in the faith, but a pure confession of the
Word of God and consistent with the truth of the Holy Scriptures Each one focused on various
practices and beliefs of the Catholic Church that Martin Luther deemed were wrong. One of Martin
Luther s three major treatises, On A Freedom of a Christian, reprimands the widely held Christian
belief that good works justified our salvation. Martin Luther had hoped that his writings would
educate and remind the people and religious officials that salvation stems from our faith. Faith
should not be categorized as a virtue but rather a trust in Godin which one builds when they
encounter the trials and temptations in life. Therefore, it is the Gospel, the word of God, that sets
the Christian believer free. However, this new insight had led people to believe that both faith and
good works is necessary for justification. Martin Luther wanted to separate the truth from the false
teachings. Therefore, Martin Luther explains that although the Christian is freed good works are
still compulsory because it s function is to help Christians discipline themselves in order to better
serve the needs of their neighbor as long as they have the faith first in order for their works to be
considered good and pleasing to God.
The purpose of good works is not for the sake of justification but rather to

  • 2. School Is East Campus At Rappahannock Hall Purpose: The goal of this proposal is recommend that the school makes east campus while including Rappahannock hall to no longer be dry residence hall for those twenty one in age and older to try and decrease the high DUI rate here at CNU. Summary: CNU student currently must go off campus to consume alcohol no matter the age leaving them to find a ride or most of the time, drive. This leaves the students at a high risk of drinking too much and then driving home from said off campus location. As a twenty one year old individual the law gives you the right to drink and as college students no matter your affiliation or social openness students will drink. Some students may end up drinking more than others but in the end a student will drink in his/her college career and CNU forces students to do this off campus making things less safe for the individual. At CNU they have such a strict dry residence hall regulation that it is possible that one time you get in trouble you are kicked out of school. Due to the regulations students go off campus to a bar or a friends house to consume alcohol. Most survey recipients say they often drive to said location to drink and then because it is most convenient drive themselves home. Most students reported that when they received their DUI that they were blowing between .09 .11 slightly above the legal limit but still a DUI. The students when surveyed most said they would have rather just drank in their room so they did not have to go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Founded in 1922 by Scottish engineer John Reith, the BBC s philosophy has remained the same throughout almost a century. John Reith was the BBC s general manager when it was created in 1922 and its director general in 1927 when it became a public corporation ( John Reith. ). Reith felt as he had a duty to improve England. He believed that broadcastingshould be held to the highest standards and guided by responsibility. By 1946, the BBC staff had more than doubled (Cain 42 43). In mid 1940, the BBC s news readers started identifying themselves so listeners could be certain they were hearing BBC news. Yorkshireman Wilfred Pickles became a legendary reporter with his distinctive northern accent ( 1940s. ) Not even the headquarters of the BBC was spared during the vicious war. On October 15th, 1941, a German bomb hit the Broadcasting House. Seven people died in the blast. Bruce Belfage, who was reading the nine o clock news at the time, continued as if nothing had occurred, despite being covered in grime. ( 1940s. ) In 1941, the BBC also started its V for Victory campaign. V stood for victory in English, French, and Flemish. Audience members were asked to write Vs everywhere they could to represent victory for Allied forces. Unfortunately, Germany used the V for Victory against Britain to represent an ancient German war cry, Viktoria . The BBC campaign was dismantled in 1942, yet still remains iconic in the war ( 1940s. ). The BBC served as a ray of hope to many listeners. • 6. Argumentative Essay On Indiana House Elections With the 2016 general election coming up, the citizens of Indiana will be electing their members of Congress to represent the state and its districts. The Indiana Senate race that has received a lot of attention is the race between Todd Young and Evan Bayh. An Indiana House race that has been receiving a lot of attention is the District 9 race between Shelli Yoder and Trey Hollingsworth. When analyzing these races, a wide variety of factors, such as demographics, money, and scandals should to be taken into consideration. In terms of the Senate race in Indiana, there have been fourteen shifts in party power in that particular seat over time (Ballotpedia). But in general, Indiana has been a Republican leaning state throughout much of its history. In 2004, Evan Bayh(D) was elected to the Indiana Senate. In 2010, Dan Coats (R) was elected to the seat. In the very next election, Joe Donnelly (D) took over the seat. Dan Coats retook the seat in 2014 and is now stepping down to make room for either Evan Bayh (D) or Todd Young (R) (Indiana Secretary of State). Evan Bayh originally had a six to seven point lead over Todd Young in the polls, but policy issues played a part in negating that lead (Monmouth). For example, on the issue of ... Additionally, the demographics are not in favor of the Democratic candidate in the Senate race and certainly not in the 9th District race. • 7. What Are The Pros And Cons Of Outsourcing Digital Marketing The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing Your Website s Digital Marketing There is no doubt that the option to outsource digital marketing activities for your company website is appealing. Outsourcing is at most times convenient and blows less of a hole in your budget than hiring a full fledged in house team. You may securely leave your company s marketing to a specialized target= _blank Digital Marketing Agency or, better still, utilize the services of a skilled (and affordable) freelancer, while you concentrate your entire focus on the areas of your business that need your undivided attention. But keep in mind the advantages that an agency can bring to you a team of freelancers with various skills and their own selection process may beat the extra cost. Do not forget that even with freelancers and outsourced agencies you get what you pay for. If a candidate promises 50,000 Instagram friends for $100, these are likely to be fake friends. A $5 an hour website marketer is equally suspect if such people do not value their own time, how can you expect them to value the work they deliver? 3.Flexibility: Outsourcing lets you hire only when you need work done, especially if the projects do not have mission critical deadlines. Freelancers are often more flexible than employees on your payroll, working 9 to 5. There are cases when you may want to hire a freelancer despite having a small in house team, to handle all the extra work that your in house team cannot manage. In such cases, you can achieve a fine balance of productivity between projects on deadline and more flexible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Concert Review Essay I would first like to start this concert review off stating that I do not know really anything about how to play and write music, and all the aspects of getting the melody and harmony right in the music. What might be simple and have a good steadiness throughout the music to me might be elabrate and unsteady to the performer. When I listen to music, I do listen to the music itself but I am more likely to relate to the lyrics so that is my main focus. So for this review, my insight on how the music is may not be that accurate. This concert review is about Bill Miller concert. I thought he was a great musician with a pretty good voice. He is very down to Earth not only just talking but through his lyrics. Within the lyrics, I could hear his Native American ancestry come alive. He played some Native American songs on what I call a Native American flute and something similar to a claranet. Then he did some original songs with the acustic guitar and a cover song which I will be reviewing. He first play an original song called Chasing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he played you can see and hear his heart behind it. He played as some poeple would say as if he was rocking it which his was. He also sang lounder then he did with the other song which projects more emotion and heart behind it. Ethical Issues In Gun Control Adriano Theriot J Festervand Eng 102 12 April 2017 The Revolving Dilemma of Ethics in Gun Control The topic of gun control laws has risen to become one of the most controversial ethical issues of the twenty first century in the United States of America. The US is world leading in terms of gun ownership, according to a 2012 Congressional Research Service report, per 100 residents there are 112.6, meaning there is more than one gun for each American citizen (Krouse). Some would argue that a superhero is a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman. Although this definition holds some truths, there is so much more when delving into what a superhero actually is. Superhero s are people that make immense sacrifices, take extraordinary risks, and take the initiative to help make a society a better place for the greater good. Guardians of the Galaxy, a film produced by James Gunn, did a fantastic job at accurately portraying the true meaning and expectations of our superheroes, all while maintaining a fun and enjoyable film above the deeper meanings. • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Sports Stadiums Sports teams are a symbol of a cities pride. Take for example the Chicago Cubs. They create a sense of loyalty toward that city. However, none of that would happen without a stadium. Stadiums and teams can play a very important role in a cities economy, or they could also be irrelevant. To decide whether or not they are useful or not you must first understand each side of the argument. So first, let s examine the pros of having a stadiumwithin your city. Then, we will discuss the harms of having one. And finally, decide which side is more beneficial for the economy. Proponents of subsidizing sports stadiums is a great decision because the economic impact it will have on the community is great for two main reasons. First, sports stadiums are massive construction projects. In fact, one could compare them to a medieval cathedral in their attempts to dominate a skyline and inspire pride in one s city And, just like these cathedrals, they are very expensive, and massive building projects that would require many years of hard painstaking labor. For example, the proposed stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California, was predicted to cost $3 billion and add 22,000 construction jobs to the economy of Los Angeles, California. Although construction jobs do eventually disappear once a stadium is constructed once the games begin, so does the massive consumer spending. For example, more than 3.5 million people saw the St. Louis Cardinals play at Busch Stadium in 2015. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Westermarck s idea was simple. Men and women cannot recognize their relatives as relatives, so they have no way of preventing inbreeding as such. The demand and supply in the long term bond market is the determinant of long term yields whereas, the demand and supply in the short term bond market is the determinant of short term rates. Under this theory, it is implied that the future interest rates have very little to do with the shape of the Treasury yield curve. With a greater demand for shorter maturity T bills relative to T bonds, the yield curve would typically be upward sloping. However, this theory doesn t explain why interest rates on various maturities have positive correlations. Lastly, the preferred habitat theory which is a hybrid of the three aforementioned theories, reject the view that the risk premium must rise uniformly with maturity. Therefore this theory assumes that investors who seek liquidity tend to prefer the short part of the Treasury curve. However, as a result of the demand for short term T bills being greater than long term T bonds there is an upward slope in the Treasury yield curve. • 23. The Effect Of Bacterial And Fungal Presence On Bacterial... Rationale and Background. To date, the majority of microbiological study of soils have centered on bacterial and fungal presence in the context of plant mutualism [Figure 2]. Additionally, analyses of microbial biomass have typically utilized indirect models, such as change in soil carbon levels, as a measurement of microbial growth dynamics (Holden and Treseder 2014). When emphasizing ecological roles of microbes as nutrient cyclers, this is a useful methodology. However, it has led to a void in understanding of viral significance in these systems as well as a lack of detailed species level identifications of bacterial and viral communities prior to and after fire events. The few abundance assays completed regarding bacteria in soil indicate that one gram of soil contains 108 to 109 bacteria and 109 to 1010 viruses (Williamson 2005, Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). This incredibly high number necessitates additional research, if only due to the fact that these organisms numerically overwhelm the system (Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). It would be irresponsible to ignore such a significant portion of the environment and attempt to come to ideal land management practices. It has become clear from even the broad scale respiration and nutrient assays completed that bacterial and viral communities are not a monolith; in different locations, phylogenetic community composition varies strongly (Williamson 2005, Goberna et al. 2015, Wang et al. 2015, Tas et al. 2014, Dooley and ... Death Is Not Master By Thomas Miller Let them die They want eternity In May Miller s Poem Death is not Master the persona explains that death is not the master that will increase the desperation but it is a way to become eternally calm. Many poems on the topic of death explain how it is as powerful of a thing that fears the existence of human beings, but Miller s persona death is a way to achieve eternal serenity. She explains death as something that can end all the worldly tears, desires and tension and transform the human memory into a sculpture which is unaware of tensions. Miller s persona believes that blocking death will be unfair as it will be a barrier to the everlasting happiness and calmness that lies inside the grave. Miller s persona is an elaboration of Christian beliefs that death ends all worldly problems as an eternal life starts after the death. The eternal life of a human or corpse after death is same as that of sculpture which shines at night and remain in one place free of all tensions and problems. As the life after death is full of calmness and happiness, so it must not be blocked and everyone must welcome it to gain the everlasting lasting life. Thus, in Miller s perspective death is not the master; instead, it is the slave of eternal life of serenity and calmness that lies ahead. So, no one should try to become a barrier by blocking the death. Repetition of you six times and I three times creates the relationship between I and You who love each other a lot and never want ... The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons reports that 3.5 million children are treated for sports injuries each year roughly half of them suffering from overuse injuries. The organization Safe Kids Worldwide reports that every 25 seconds a young athlete visits the emergency room due to a severe sports injury . With these alarming numbers in mind, an increase in children s safety while playing sports is inevitable. While regular physical activities benefit the normal and healthy growth in children, they can be extremely harmful if the level of activity becomes overly intense or extreme. Today, children start with competitive sports as early as age 6 or 7. I applaud their discipline and determination to be healthy and physically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And since California law did not allow for separate Mexican schools, the requirement that children at tend such schools could be considered arbitrary action taken without due process of law. (Charles Wollenberg, All Deliberate Speed, 1976, p. 127) This case could not have gone to the Supreme Court because the law of the state said nothing about segregating Mexican Americans in the Constitution (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views5h99.htm) . On Brown vs. the Board of Education it was a little different, because Black was considered a different race; and according to the Plessey vs. Ferguson case of 1896, it states it could segregate a race, as long as it provides a separate but equal law (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books /5views/5views5h99.htm). Now that we know a little bit more information about the trial, lets learn why all the Mexican American parents got together in order for their kids to get the same education as all the other Caucasian kids in the neighborhood. It all started in the late 1920s 1930s. As the Mexican and Mexican American population started to increase in California, more white Americans started getting scared; this led to segregation in schools. Readers see how the people of the neighborhood treat the angel throughout the story. They throw things at him, keep him in a chicken coop, make him a freak show attraction, and treat him like a wild animal. However, on the last page of the story, I found a passage that I consider significant to the story. The owner of the house and property on which the angel fell, Pelayo, offers some humane treatment to the angel. [The angel] could scarcely eat and his antiquarian eyes had also become so foggy that he went bumping into posts. All he had left were the bare cannulae of his last feathers. Pelayo threw a blanket over him and extended him the charity of letting him sleep in the shed (Marquez 932). Here, after the angel had been a caged spectacle, Pelayo finally treats the angel as he would a human, not an animal. The theme for this story could be humanity, or lack there of, and its consequences. The angel, in its sickly and ugly state, could have been testing the people of the neighborhood and their humanity. As the people continued to treat the angel poorly, the angel became sicker. However, once Pelayo treated the angel with humanity, even in its unfortunate state, it regained enough strength to fly away. • 53. The Foundation And Provision Of Nursing The foundation and provision of nursing care is guided by key values of nursing and definitions of nursing. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN] (2008) highlights five values that represent the core of nursing practice. These values include altruism, autonomy, human dignity, integrity, and social justice. This essay will focus on my top three values of altruism, human dignity, and autonomy, how these values are currently represented in my life, and how these values led to my own unique philosophy and definition of nursing. Altruism The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing (n.d.) describes altruism as an unselfish concern for the welfare of others (Values section, para 1). The AACN (2008) describes how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Human dignity goes along with my expression of altruism in my life. I express human dignity very similar to the way I express altruism, but I express this value further in my work. One main way I express this is through the provision of modesty and privacy in all ways possible while caring for patients. It is as simple as using least exposing methods and being respectful and professional when providing care. I also respect human dignity by giving my patients the power of choice and respecting the wishes that they express. I believe this is important because the hospital environment leaves people vulnerable to have their dignity ignored. Nursing researchers Papastavrou, Efstathiou, and Andreou (2017) describe this problem by stating threats to health were considered more important than those to dignity and the older people endured threats to dignity in favour of treating the health problem (p. 94). With this in mind, I work particularly hard to find ways to uphold human dignity always in my work and throughout my life. Autonomy Autonomy simply means the right to self determination, but it is a key part of nursing care (University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing, n.d., Values section, para 2). This is demonstrated through a study by Rao, Kumar, and McHugh (2017) which found that hospitals with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Martin Luther s Jr And The Christian Believer Free Martin Luther s three major treaties were attempts to persuade Pope Leo X and Roman Catholics that the theology of the Reformation was not a novelty in the faith, but a pure confession of the Word of God and consistent with the truth of the Holy Scriptures Each one focused on various practices and beliefs of the Catholic Church that Martin Luther deemed were wrong. One of Martin Luther s three major treatises, On A Freedom of a Christian, reprimands the widely held Christian belief that good works justified our salvation. Martin Luther had hoped that his writings would educate and remind the people and religious officials that salvation stems from our faith. Faith should not be categorized as a virtue but rather a trust in Godin which one builds when they encounter the trials and temptations in life. Therefore, it is the Gospel, the word of God, that sets the Christian believer free. However, this new insight had led people to believe that both faith and good works is necessary for justification. Martin Luther wanted to separate the truth from the false teachings. Therefore, Martin Luther explains that although the Christian is freed good works are still compulsory because it s function is to help Christians discipline themselves in order to better serve the needs of their neighbor as long as they have the faith first in order for their works to be considered good and pleasing to God. The purpose of good works is not for the sake of justification but rather to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
