Love Is A Great Base For Love
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its
own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for
prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
(1 Corinthians 13:4 8)
This verse chosen to recite at many weddings, the beginning of a long life of love. This passage shows
the outline of what love is both called to do and how we are called to love. I think that this passage is a
great base for love. 1 Corinthians is only the beginning of what love is.
I would call this verse the beginning or the basic love. The plan that is given to us through this verse is
satiated is that we are called to be patient, kind, to rejoice, give hope. We can even go past this face of
happiness to the nitty gritty things like not bring arrogant or rude, even going as far as saying to
endure all things. The biggest thing here though is that love never ends.
I do not believe that love is only putting other first or simply respecting a person to show love. Love
goes beyond the front and goes to the action. The best way that I think we can show love is not only
by the respectful word that we can muster up but the action that is to follow after. For example one can
say that that they love God, but if they are not doing what he

Declaration Of Independence Summary
When the Declaration of independence (US 1776) was written, the colonies were in full revolt against
England. The purpose of the document was to announce the colonies separation from England.
Declaration of Independence is infused with the enlightenment ideals of liberty and equality. This
manifesto was a cry for freedom from the tyranny of the King and signaled a new era in world
government. One where the people ruled, rather than Kings and Queens. The Declaration of
Independence, is based on the theory that the government and the governed enter into a contract
whereby the governed give up some rights in exchange for protection from the government. If the
government violates the remaining rights or does not provide the promised protection, the governed
can say the contract is invalid, or not in effect, and end the government. The Declaration of
Independence states the reasons the Colonists believe that England, through George III, had violated
its contract with the Colonies, giving them right reason to declare independence. In every stage of
these oppressions we have petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated petitions ...

He states that all people have rights guaranteed by their Creator, that it is the role of government to
protect those rights, and that when it does not, it is their right, it is their duty, to alter or abolish that

for light and transient causes, meaning that the grievances of the colonist regarding the King s abuses
must be so great that it is necessary to take action (Jefferson, 1776). He ends the paragraph with a
direct accusation against the king, stating that The history of the present King of Britain is a history of
injuries and usurpations, and then leads into a list of facts that will persuade his audience of the truth

Censorship is Not an Effective Way to Protect Children Essay
Teachers suspended, radio and television personalities fired, authors disinvited to speaking events, all
because their words, opinions or shows did not agree with what a handful of people consider
appropriate. One would think these types of situations regarding censorship happened decades ago,
not in a time now, where people pride themselves on having an open mind and the ability of forward
thinking. However, censorship still prevails in America today, and not only censorship of pornography
or violence on television, but it seeps into our textbooks and classrooms too, all in the name of
protecting the children. Many reasons exist for people to favor censorship, both by the government
and in schools. These people may feel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dangerous curriculum in our public schools. Children should have access to material that will lead
them to make better and healthier decisions about sex and material that will lead them into adulthood

The Rise And Fall Of The Kray Twins
LEGEND The rise and fall of the Kray twins
Introduction
In Brian Helgeland s movie Legend with Tom Hardy in both main roles, you cannot only expect
violence, fist fights, shootings and hot cars but also a tragically lovely romance between a mafia boss
from East London and his spouse.
Legend is a typical crime thriller portraying the life of the Kray twins, with all its difficulties.
However, Helgeland does not just explore the hard underground of London in the 1960s, he also picks
up on homosexual topics. All in all, the director shoot a typical crime thriller, sometimes even in kind
of an absurd and humoristic way, not to mention the cute typical British mother of the hard men,
serving them cake and tea.
Background

On one hand you have the sharp suits and hot cars and classy pubs and on the other hand you have
crumbling buildings where crooks are tortured.
Theme
Helgeland tries to understand the bonds that unite the two brothers. Two inseparable, bound by blood
and who love each other as much as they hate each other. Because in the face of Ronald s madness
(with paranoid schizophrenia) and his excessive violence that will slowly destroy their empire, Reggie
will be unable to keep control until everything collapses like a house of cards.
Conclusion
Although it offers notable subtleties and a fascinating approach to the fraternal relationship, the film
unfortunately lacks content over time. Sources:

The Truth And Reconciliation Commission ( Trc )
Introduction
Between the years of 1870 and 1996, more than 150,000 indigenous children were forcibly removed
from their communities, and sent to Indian residential schools. Generation after generation of
indigenous children were denied the right to speak their own language, explore spirituality and to
learn about their rich cultural history. These schools were designed to assimilate indigenous children
into the society of the European settlers. It was under that system that Aboriginal children were
required to attend schools that would take the Indian out of the child, in hopes to solve the Indian
problem .
On June 2nd, 2008, nearly 20 years after the last residential school closed, The Truth and
Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was formed in response to the legacy left behind by the Indian
residential school system. The TRC is not a government appointed commission that was created to
negotiate legal counsel for surviving students, involved churches, the Assembly of First Nations, as
well as the Canadian government. However, the main objective was to allow victims of the schools to
be acknowledge, have their stories shared, and be accepted.
Residential School History
Assimilation was the goal of European settlers, even before confederation in 1867. In 1857, the
Gradual Civilization Act was passed by the Legislature of the Province of Canada with the aim of
assimilating First Nations people. Through out Canadian history, non aboriginals have gained control
over aboriginal

Rhetoric On Divorce
Public rhetoric suggests that society as entered a new era of divorce and marriage (Adams, Coltrane,
2006). Post divorce reform efforts were projected on making divorce easier and fair. However,
changing these reform into marriage promotion was encouraged because of the effect divorce has on
multiples areas of the society. That is why the White House administration with the organized
Marriage Movement enthusiastically promotes marriage for the welfare of our society. This
organization has the assumption that healthy marriage will makes divorce go away and stated that as
part of the process of making more happy successful marriage, marriage education, premarital
counseling, reduction of marriage fees, is needed (Adams, Coltrane, 2006). It is important to clarify
that our White House spirit in promoting marriage does not wants to stigmatize single and/or fathers
mothers neither divorced individuals and rather, they wanted to promote politics that works at baseline
levels to prevent divorce and encourage the solid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Spanking Is Ineffective
Most parents subconsciously use the same disciplinary actions that were used on them growing up.
There is a ton of variety concerning ways of disciplining your children. These include, but aren t
limited to; spanking, creating consequences, withholding privileges, and time outs. However, experts
don t recommend using spanking as a disciplinary measure, as it causes anger, antagonism, amps up
aggression, and makes the child feel devalued, as well as being ineffective in the long run. Spanking is
also known to cause antisocial behavior. It is especially ineffective with toddlers and babies because
they are unable to make the connection between their bad behavior and physical punishment.
Instead of spanking, time outs are a highly effective

How Does O Flaherty Use Irony In The Sniper
Think about if you were at war and all the actions you would do in a fight to survive and come out on
top. In O Flaherty s The sniper O Flaherty writes about a sniper in a civil war on a rooftop going head
to head with another sniper and all the decisions the sniper makes to win the fight and come out on
top. O Flaherty uses irony and imagery to tell the reader that in war decisions are made to decide if
you live or die and some decisions are rational and reckless. O Flaherty uses irony in the sniper to
show how he survives which proves that recklessness can lead to bad things. The sniper makes the
decision to strike a match and as that happens a bullet whizzed over his head . The sniper makes the

Oppression In Jane Eyre
The Impression of Oppression in Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë depicts the rigid social structure and clear division between the upper
and lower classes of Victorian society, in which wealth and status determined one s beliefs, career, and
treatment from those surrounding them. Those of the upper class did not typically converse or involve
themselves with those viewed as beneath them; however, Jane Eyre fights the separation between the
classes to which she has fallen victim at both Gateshead and Lowood school. Her refusal to conform
to the hierarchy eventually leads to the meddling between the Victorian era elite and peasant class, as
seen through Jane Eyre s romantic relationship with Edward Rochester, an upperclassman and ...

The Reed family evidently still carries this grudge against Jane s side of the family, as they all treat
her as part of a lower class that is unworthy to live with them or be associated with them in any way.
The only time that a member of the Reed family speaks to Jane is when they are belittling her, hoping
to further assert their elite dominance over the lower class. In one particular quarrel, John Reed, the
oppressive Roman emperor and slave driver, throws a book at Jane s head to physically proclaim his
dominance over her, to which Jane responds by verbally firing back at his elitist oppression. (Brontë
13) The battle between the social classes concludes with Jane being banished to the horrifying red
room as punishment for attempting to overthrow the elite power, John Reed, even though John was the
clear instigator of the scuffle. Jane is later condemned by the house servants for her attempt to
overthrow her young master. Jane and John are both children, but due to the wealth and status of his
parents, John is allowed to rule over Jane, making Jane, as the Gateshead servants would describe, less
than a servant because she does nothing for her keep. (Brontë 15) Jane continuously faces this
maltreatment at Gateshead until an outburst directed towards Mrs. Reed causes her to be sent away to
Lowood school, a place where Mrs. Reed hopes Jane will perhaps be taught to conform to the societal
norm of how a young girl like Jane should act in

The Importance Of Greed In Today And Today
Greed. Each and every single human being has the feeling of greed. Humans receive love and care but
will never feel satisfied. Instead, they will only desire more. Someone claps in applause for another
but that other will just want more. A person will always have more and another will want to be like
them. They will never feel content. That constant feeling is greed. The feeling will always be present
because enough will never be enough. More now than ever, Americans, especially children, have
become much more greedy and expect much more out of the world than generations before our time
did.
Around the time of the 1950s, Christmas was the best time of the year that everyone waited for
likewise as it is today. It used to be that only a few presents were given to each kid whereas today
children get countless presents in which their parents blow hundreds of dollars on. Not only the
amount of presents, but the types of presents differ in today s society as well. Today s presents are
items such as the newest iPhone or MacBook rather than receiving underwear and a cabbage patch
doll like children used to. Children were thrilled to open the one or two gifts they received unlike
today where if a child doesn t obtain the newest version of the IPhone, it turns into a temper tantrum
and ungratefulness for the rest of the gifts. Falling asleep on Christmas eve was also a problem due
eagerness compared to children today that just think it s a normal day because kids receive so much on

Individualism Vs Collectivism
When introduced to the concept of individualism, it is obvious by the name collectivism would be the
polar opposite of such a philosophy. Collectivism is essentially the concept people should be viewed
as a collective rather than individuals, hence the name. Collectivism is the root of what most citizens
deem to be a corrupt government. The idea can be summed up in Black Sabbath s song War Pigs, in
which lead singer John Ozzy Osbourne exclaims in reference to the government, treating people just
like pawns in chess . Governments opting to go the route of a collective view of their population tend
to be indifferent to the struggles of their people, often seeing them as ants, or as Geezer Butler
(Sabbath s main lyricist) puts it, pawns in chess. Whereas a nation would be viewed as millions, or
perhaps billions, of individuals according to individualism, they are seen as possessing one collective
body in the case of collectivism. Citizens are no more than statistics on a page (or in today s case, on a
screen) to the governing bodies conforming to collectivism, and as such are no longer human beings
whose feelings and opinions matter. Rather that accepting a mob rules mentality, these governments
choose to manipulate the people to be the collective they want them to be. A worthy modern example
would be North Korea, in which Kim Jong Un sees his people as a wave of biological matter. North
Koreans are forced to wear certain clothes, have certain haircuts, and essentially

The Weary Blues Mood
The Harlem Renaissance (1918 1937) is a period of flourishing African American artistic culture. New
styles of art and music such as the blues originate from this time. Many African American artists such
as Langton Hughes utilize art to express their ideas and culture to other societies. Hughes specifically
tries to convey the state of mind of African Americans through poetry. He achieves this by creating a
depressing mood in his main poem The Weary Blues. Through symbolism, metaphors and emotive
words, Hughes evokes the melancholic mood in order to shed light on the reality of African Americans
in the 1920s.
Symbolism is a key factor to establish the melancholic atmosphere. Hughes utilizes this device to

Music is a metaphor for the unexplainable abstract emotions the singer experiences. The poem itself is
a piece of music. Hughes chooses a depressing tune, as African Americans are victims of
discrimination. Therefore, the singer turns to music to express his feelings instead of violence. The
music forces the piano player to overcome his fears and looses himself in the music hence explaining
actions such as ...thump went his foot on the floor. (23) Hughes chooses the blues as it can express the
worries of humans. The fact that the blues is composed in minor chords plays a key role in affecting
the mood. The singer exclaims that he can t be satisfied, (28) and he had wish that he had died, (30) in
order to escape the pain. The blues features numerous repetitions in which the singer is crying. The
artist mentions that he has the weary blues, (25) hence utilizing music to portray the mood. Blues
bestow the reality of the prejudices and injustices. The African American s emotions are embedded in
the music, which is then poured to the

Single Fiber Electromyography ( Sfemg )
Single fiber electromyography (SFEMG) is another reliable diagnostic test for MG. This test typically
requires the use of a specialized EMG needle electrode that is inserted into a single muscle in rapid
succession in order to measure muscle jitter or fatigue (Selvan, 2011). This test measures electrical
impulses and activity between the brain and the muscle, and detects individual muscle weakness. To
establish possible MG in a patient, there are more jitters shown in weaker muscles. SFEMG is highly

currently no cure for MG, however there are multiple treatments available to manage the disease.
Depending on the state of the individual, practitioners will recommend a specific treatment protocol

and a thymectomy. Plasma exchange (plasmapheresis) and IVIg are treatments used for acute
management of severe muscular weakness. Symptoms usually improve for 1 to 2 months, and each
treatment is commonly used in conjunction with immunosuppressants (Skeie, et al., 2010). Plasma
exchange involves replacing plasma with 1 1.5 times the volume with saline, albumin, or plasma

for the Duke of Vanholt and the pregnant Duchess (4.2.12 7; 4.6.19 23). Clearly, this drive is best
demonstrated through Faustus himself when asked by his fellow scholars to summon Helen of Troy in
the B text:
Gentlemen, for that I know your friendship is unfeigned,
It is not Faustus custom to deny
The just request of those that wish him well.
You shall behold that peerless dame of Greece (5.1.18 21). Faustus strong desire to impress others
doubtlessly derives from his fear of being rejected by those of high stature in society; he wishes to
belong with them and not from whence he came. Furthermore, Stephen Orgel notes in Magic and
Power in Doctor Faustus , that although Faustus has unlimited power, he only conjures what is asked
of him, never striving beyond or testing his boundaries, and that this represents two major flaws
within Faustus: an artistic failure of imagination and a scholarly failure of originality (396). Both
failures stem from Faustus only doing what he is told, merely fulfilling what is asked of him, so that
he may, for a while, share their acclaim and status. If Faustus were truly empowered or secure in his
own abilities,

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy ( Rebt )
Abstract
A literature review on rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). A discussion of the REBT founder
Albert Ellis and the concepts that influenced the formation of REBT. Also, an in depth description of
the concepts and theories behind REBT as well as examples of the types of therapies that are
commonly used in REBT. Next, an explanation of some of the changes that have occurred during the
history of REBT and a call for some future developments. Finally, some criticisms of REBT are
debated.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Past, Present, and Future Rational emotive behavior therapy
(REBT) was first developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 (Dryden, David, Ellis, 2009). Albert Ellis was
influenced by the teachings of many different stoic philosophers, including Epictetus, which taught
that humans are not disturbed by the actual things that happen to them but by their perception of those
things (Dryden et al., 2009). Hence, Ellis termed this therapy rational psychotherapy in order to
emphasize the cognitive aspect of his therapy and to differentiate it from other psychoanalytic
therapies (Dryden et al., 2009). However, he had to change the name of his therapy to rational emotive
therapy in 1961 due to critics accusations of the therapy ignoring clients emotions, and then again in
1993 to rational emotive behavior therapy in order to emphasize the behavior aspect of therapy
(Dryden et al., 2009). Another influence to Ellis was Alfred Alder; Alder s belief that an

Dilemma In The Vignette For Dr. Darcy
Another dilemma in the vignette for Dr. Darcy, is her concerns that Mr. Jones may be suffering from
dementia. If Dr. Darcy can see that there is a possibility of this kind of diagnosis after talking to Mr.
Jones for an hour; then Mr. Jones doctors surly have this concern. Why have Mr. Jones doctors been
remiss in doing cognitive testing on Mr. Jones? Has the diagnosis of depression been masking the
symptoms of dementia? This is a line of questioning that Dr. Darcy needs to pursue. As noted on the
Alzheimer society website (2016) depression is very common with people who suffer with Alzheimer
s, it is noted that depression is most evident in the first two stages of the disease. How did Mr. Jones
doctors miss his symptoms of dementia, then?

Women s Struggle Towards Self Emancipation
Throughout Dangarembga s seminal prose novel and Bâ s epistolary novel, the authors explore the
omnipresent nature of gender inequality in a society and the inequitable standards of life that all
women have to either endure or reject. Both texts present their protagonists, Tambudzai and
Ramatoulaye one a developing adolescent, the other a widowed mother of twelve, reflecting on the
struggles of being women in their respective patriarchal societies of Zimbabwe and Senegal. Through
an investigation into the social, cultural and psychological contexts, the texts contribute an
understanding into the personal struggles of women through portrayals of the conflicting tensions
between patriarchy and the female autonomy, the significance of female solidarity and the woman s
struggle towards self emancipation and the resulting formation of identity.
Throughout both Nervous Conditions and So Long A Letter, the authors expose the need for women to
secure their own individuality by fighting the subjugation from patriarchal structures. In Nervous
Conditions, through her utilisation of juxtaposition between the characterisation Maiguru and Lucia,
Dangarembga highlights the need to women to take action. Although Maiguru holds a PhD and is
equally as capable as her husband, she is restricted by the expectations of her society to do so called

A Short Period Of Time Essay
Think of a mother deer raising its fawn, while the fawn is being raised, it is being taught about
survival, how to hunt and catch food. In a short period of time, that fawn is released into the wild on
its own, without its mother. The fawn has to rely on its mother s teachings and also its own instincts,
Animals raise their young to survive on their own by means of hunting and keeping themselves
protected, while parents send off their children to survive on their owns by means of motivation,
determination and independence. I was raised by my parents and they are sending me off into the wild
in a way, since this is my first time away from home and away from them. I feel grown enough to
survive and I will do my best to make them proud and use everything they have taught me. I am the
fawn, raised by my Mother and taught how to survive. However, my Mom is still holding on, which
isn t necessarily bad but sometimes hinders me on my own journey.
When you are this age it feels like you are stuck in limbo, no longer a child with your parents by your
side but also not an adult yet either. My parents are relatively strict but are very responsive and
support my growth. I understand that my parents just want me to succeed and want me to do great
things, but sometimes I feel confliction between my personal goals and what I want to become and
who they want me to become and what they want me to do. It is probably a thing that a lot of us face

New York City, Tokyo And Paris
Introduction: With all major cities in the world, such as: New York City, Tokyo and Paris, comes a
exceptional transit system. Whether its is subways, buses, light rail transit (LRT) or a combination of
the above, they all perform a crucial role in transporting people from one destination to the next. Since
opening in 1954, Toronto s Transit Commission, also known as the TTC, has a system that just about
cover every part of Toronto, with 4 subway/rapid transit lines, 143 bus and 11 streetcar routes in 2015,
(TTC, 2015). Unfortunately, the TTC is still plagued with many problems, such as: unexplained delay
and overcrowding, which decline the riderships and revenues (Curry, 2016; Hume, 2016).
Furthermore the population of the greater toronto area (GTA) is expected to grow in the upcoming
years, Toronto s transit system would not be ready for the increase in capacity (CrosstownTO, 2014).
Therefore in order to increase the transit system s capacity and make it more appealing, more
LRT/Bus lines would need to be built in the GTA due to their constructability, benefits to society and
the environment, flexibility in suburbs and their low risks in meeting ridership goal.
Constructability
Planning and constructing a new transit system is simple and inexpensive task . Everyones loves the
idea of subways, those electric powered trains can travel at rapid speeds of 24 39 km/hr with their own

Examples Of Success Is Counted Sweetest By Emily Dickinson
Despite having great notoriety in the present day, Emily Dickinson was not always recognized as a
remarkable American poet. In fact, during her lifetime, Dickinson was seen as a reclusive woman who
had failed to meet society s expectations. Dickinson lived out her life unwed, on her family
homestead, rarely ever leaving the house, let alone her own room. As a result of her peculiar life,
Dickinson found poetry as an outlet to express her feelings, experiences, and philosophy. In her
reclusive state, Dickinson created nearly 1,800 poems, many of which challenged societal values of
the time. Because of Emily Dickinson s unique perspective on life, poetry served as an outlet for her

In Dickinson s The Soul selects her own Society , she discusses the concept of individuality, and how
it affects people in relation to society. To begin, Dickinson writes The Soul selects her own Society /
Then shuts the Door / To her divine Majority / Present no more (1 4). The act of someone selecting
their own society , as described in this poem, is a metaphor for finding purpose and meaning in life,
and discovering what they wants to do with their time on Earth. Shutting the door is a comment on
commitment, and how one must be completely devoted to the society in which they have selected.
When compared to Dickinson s own life, it appears that this poem is making a statement on Dickinson
s choice to live in seclusion. The society in which Dickinson has selected is the world of poetry, which
she enjoys in the comfort of her own room. She quite literally shuts the door behind her, as Dickinson
rarely left her own room. As for her commitment to writing poetry, the fact that she wrote nearly 1,800
poems makes it very clear that she was devoted to the society she had selected. Furthermore,
Dickinson writes Unmoved she notes the Chariots / At her low Gate / Unmoved an Emperor be
kneeling / Upon her Mat (5 8). While it is not explicitly stated who the Emperor is, it can inferred that
the Emperor is a man of authority. This Emperor could quite possibly be a suitor

Life In The Middle Class
The life of living in the middle class can be stressful. There are so many ways that middle class
parents raise their children. I see the middle class being like a club. If you want in here are a few
things you have to do kind of club. Middle class is defined either by education (college degree) or by
occupation (P.134). As of all the other researchers that we have read about or read their research. They
have found that class based differences in marriage, divorce rate, household structure, lifespan, and
health outcomes (P 134.). Social class has been found to be a factor in the character of childrearing.
The middle class is a huge population of the U.S. Most middle class families are extremely political
and that is exactly what this study is. Lareau and Cox did a huge study over foreseeing and forestalling
potential problems. This is where parents alter the conditions under which their children functioned.
They try to fix the problem before it becomes a huge problem or the help redirect the child in the
correct direction. Lareau and Cox did a few interviews over middle class parents and how they got
involved with their children going to school and headed to college. Did parents let their kids do
everything on their own or did they get a lot of help from the parents. Lareau and Cox focus on two
families. Two families that are in the middle class but they help their child into school in totally
different ways. The first observation was Garrett Tallinger. Tallinger is

Natural Rights In The United States
According to University of Notre Dame History Professor, Leo Strauss, he has stated, Natural right
claims to be a right that is discernible by human reason and is universally acknowledged . (Leo) This
statement opens up the question, what exactly is a natural right and who has access to such? Society
has not been able to decide which rights man possessed as a gift from God. To define a natural right,
already defined by Professor Strauss as, equal to of all individuals born in the United States and
cannot be taken away . (Leo) The term natural rights was first introduced in the American society by a
fellow named John Locke and he argued, Man was entitled to enjoy the rights of life, liberty and
property (Leo). There has been a constitutional dilemmas between which natural rights are God given.

1970s Music Did you know that the inspiration behind Led Zeppelin s name came from something

Adam and Eve were doomed for trying to be like god, this is the same damnation mankind is headed

DNA engineering gives man the ability to create life and cu omize life to his specific needs of likes.
So how good is too good? Man s ability to make life or create perfect human beings so they can be in
a state of Utopia will disturb the balance of nature. Every individual, every child born on earth is

The uman Genome Project has been used for the cloning of genes responsible for Duchenne muscular
dystrophy, retinoblastoma, cystic fibrosis, and neurofibromatosis. If other diseases like these are
isolated, biologists can learn about the gene s pathology of isorders. For example, before geneticists
cloned the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene, to confirm the diagnosis was expensive and
very uncomfortable, the tests were also inadequate to detect carriers. But now, with only a blood
sample, geneticists an detect most mutations associated with DMD rapidly. The genome information
can be used to detect any gene mutations likely to happen to future generations of a family.
It helps to predict which individuals have an increase susceptibility to diseases such as heart disease,
cancer or diabetes, which result from complex instructions between genes and the environment. When
biologists compare the human genome with the ge mes of other organisms, they may gain an insight
into molecular evolution including human evolution. (New tools for tomorrow s health research,
1992). Biologists could use the genes to compare to other genes of other species, they may get more
informat n or perhaps even closer to finding out more about the human evolution. The HGP not only
helped in the medical field, but also in technology advancement. Its biggest challenge is to find faster
ways to map DNA, which will yield way to faster development f technology. HGP provides way

The Characters Of A Monster In William Shakespeare s Titus...
In William Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus the characters Aaron, Tamora, Demetrius, and Chiron are
considered monstrous due to their actions that lead up to the tragic ending of the play. Jeffrey Jerome
Cohen s idea of characteristics that a monster possesse would also classify these four characters as a
monster. Although Tamora, Aaron, Demetrius, and Chiron are the most monstrous characters of the
play, none of the other characters are considered innocent because they all contribute to the terrible
ending. Cohen states in his essay Monster Culture (Seven Theses) a monster is manipulative and never
exactly dies, these characteristics are seen in Aaron. After informing Titus about some information
about sparing the life of his two sons Aaron says to himself, If that be called deceit, I will be honest
and never whilst I live deceive men so, (3.1 192 193). Aaron has just convinced Titus to chop off his
hands in exchange for sparing the lives of his two sons, but his two sons are already dead and have
their heads chopped off. While Demetrius and Chiron are arguing Aaron suggests, Single you thither

  • 2. Love Is A Great Base For Love Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:4 8) This verse chosen to recite at many weddings, the beginning of a long life of love. This passage shows the outline of what love is both called to do and how we are called to love. I think that this passage is a great base for love. 1 Corinthians is only the beginning of what love is. I would call this verse the beginning or the basic love. The plan that is given to us through this verse is satiated is that we are called to be patient, kind, to rejoice, give hope. We can even go past this face of happiness to the nitty gritty things like not bring arrogant or rude, even going as far as saying to endure all things. The biggest thing here though is that love never ends. I do not believe that love is only putting other first or simply respecting a person to show love. Love goes beyond the front and goes to the action. The best way that I think we can show love is not only by the respectful word that we can muster up but the action that is to follow after. For example one can say that that they love God, but if they are not doing what he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Declaration Of Independence Summary When the Declaration of independence (US 1776) was written, the colonies were in full revolt against England. The purpose of the document was to announce the colonies separation from England. Declaration of Independence is infused with the enlightenment ideals of liberty and equality. This manifesto was a cry for freedom from the tyranny of the King and signaled a new era in world government. One where the people ruled, rather than Kings and Queens. The Declaration of Independence, is based on the theory that the government and the governed enter into a contract whereby the governed give up some rights in exchange for protection from the government. If the government violates the remaining rights or does not provide the promised protection, the governed can say the contract is invalid, or not in effect, and end the government. The Declaration of Independence states the reasons the Colonists believe that England, through George III, had violated its contract with the Colonies, giving them right reason to declare independence. In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated petitions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He states that all people have rights guaranteed by their Creator, that it is the role of government to protect those rights, and that when it does not, it is their right, it is their duty, to alter or abolish that government. He cautions again, using ethos, that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes, meaning that the grievances of the colonist regarding the King s abuses must be so great that it is necessary to take action (Jefferson, 1776). He ends the paragraph with a direct accusation against the king, stating that The history of the present King of Britain is a history of injuries and usurpations, and then leads into a list of facts that will persuade his audience of the truth of these ... • 4. Censorship is Not an Effective Way to Protect Children Essay Teachers suspended, radio and television personalities fired, authors disinvited to speaking events, all because their words, opinions or shows did not agree with what a handful of people consider appropriate. One would think these types of situations regarding censorship happened decades ago, not in a time now, where people pride themselves on having an open mind and the ability of forward thinking. However, censorship still prevails in America today, and not only censorship of pornography or violence on television, but it seeps into our textbooks and classrooms too, all in the name of protecting the children. Many reasons exist for people to favor censorship, both by the government and in schools. These people may feel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (National Coalition Against Censorship) This means that the government censors what public schools can teach. According to the law, teachers can only to teach about contraceptives by telling of their failure rates. Teachers cannot answer a direct question from a student if it does not relate directly to the abstinence only lifestyle. (National Coalition Against Censorship) This provides an unrealistic and dangerous curriculum in our public schools. Children should have access to material that will lead them to make better and healthier decisions about sex and material that will lead them into adulthood better prepared. Some school administrators, teachers, and parents do not make informed decisions when deciding what material students can access. They merely read a bad review or skim the pages of a book and decide it has unsuitable content. Ellen Hopkins, an author of the young adult series, Crank, notes that books like hers have a helpful storyline for young adults, but adults quickly to jump to conclusions that they contain inappropriate material. • 5. The Rise And Fall Of The Kray Twins LEGEND The rise and fall of the Kray twins Introduction In Brian Helgeland s movie Legend with Tom Hardy in both main roles, you cannot only expect violence, fist fights, shootings and hot cars but also a tragically lovely romance between a mafia boss from East London and his spouse. Legend is a typical crime thriller portraying the life of the Kray twins, with all its difficulties. However, Helgeland does not just explore the hard underground of London in the 1960s, he also picks up on homosexual topics. All in all, the director shoot a typical crime thriller, sometimes even in kind of an absurd and humoristic way, not to mention the cute typical British mother of the hard men, serving them cake and tea. Background Figure 1 (Reginald ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On one hand you have the sharp suits and hot cars and classy pubs and on the other hand you have crumbling buildings where crooks are tortured. Theme Helgeland tries to understand the bonds that unite the two brothers. Two inseparable, bound by blood and who love each other as much as they hate each other. Because in the face of Ronald s madness (with paranoid schizophrenia) and his excessive violence that will slowly destroy their empire, Reggie will be unable to keep control until everything collapses like a house of cards. • 6. The Truth And Reconciliation Commission ( Trc ) Introduction Between the years of 1870 and 1996, more than 150,000 indigenous children were forcibly removed from their communities, and sent to Indian residential schools. Generation after generation of indigenous children were denied the right to speak their own language, explore spirituality and to learn about their rich cultural history. These schools were designed to assimilate indigenous children into the society of the European settlers. It was under that system that Aboriginal children were required to attend schools that would take the Indian out of the child, in hopes to solve the Indian problem . On June 2nd, 2008, nearly 20 years after the last residential school closed, The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was formed in response to the legacy left behind by the Indian residential school system. The TRC is not a government appointed commission that was created to negotiate legal counsel for surviving students, involved churches, the Assembly of First Nations, as well as the Canadian government. However, the main objective was to allow victims of the schools to be acknowledge, have their stories shared, and be accepted. Residential School History Assimilation was the goal of European settlers, even before confederation in 1867. In 1857, the Gradual Civilization Act was passed by the Legislature of the Province of Canada with the aim of assimilating First Nations people. Post divorce reform efforts were projected on making divorce easier and fair. Oppression In Jane Eyre The Impression of Oppression in Jane Eyre Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë depicts the rigid social structure and clear division between the upper and lower classes of Victorian society, in which wealth and status determined one s beliefs, career, and treatment from those surrounding them. Those of the upper class did not typically converse or involve themselves with those viewed as beneath them; however, Jane Eyre fights the separation between the classes to which she has fallen victim at both Gateshead and Lowood school. Her refusal to conform to the hierarchy eventually leads to the meddling between the Victorian era elite and peasant class, as seen through Jane Eyre s romantic relationship with Edward Rochester, an upperclassman and ... The Reed family evidently still carries this grudge against Jane s side of the family, as they all treat her as part of a lower class that is unworthy to live with them or be associated with them in any way. The only time that a member of the Reed family speaks to Jane is when they are belittling her, hoping to further assert their elite dominance over the lower class. In one particular quarrel, John Reed, the oppressive Roman emperor and slave driver, throws a book at Jane s head to physically proclaim his dominance over her, to which Jane responds by verbally firing back at his elitist oppression. (Brontë 13) The battle between the social classes concludes with Jane being banished to the horrifying red room as punishment for attempting to overthrow the elite power, John Reed, even though John was the clear instigator of the scuffle. Jane is later condemned by the house servants for her attempt to overthrow her young master. Jane and John are both children, but due to the wealth and status of his parents, John is allowed to rule over Jane, making Jane, as the Gateshead servants would describe, less than a servant because she does nothing for her keep. (Brontë 15) Jane continuously faces this maltreatment at Gateshead until an outburst directed towards Mrs. Reed causes her to be sent away to Lowood school, a place where Mrs. Reed hopes Jane will perhaps be taught to conform to the societal norm of how a young girl like Jane should act in ... They will never feel content. That constant feeling is greed. The feeling will always be present because enough will never be enough. More now than ever, Americans, especially children, have become much more greedy and expect much more out of the world than generations before our time did. Around the time of the 1950s, Christmas was the best time of the year that everyone waited for likewise as it is today. • 16. Individualism Vs Collectivism When introduced to the concept of individualism, it is obvious by the name collectivism would be the polar opposite of such a philosophy. Collectivism is essentially the concept people should be viewed as a collective rather than individuals, hence the name. Collectivism is the root of what most citizens deem to be a corrupt government. The idea can be summed up in Black Sabbath s song War Pigs, in which lead singer John Ozzy Osbourne exclaims in reference to the government, treating people just like pawns in chess . Governments opting to go the route of a collective view of their population tend to be indifferent to the struggles of their people, often seeing them as ants, or as Geezer Butler (Sabbath s main lyricist) puts it, pawns in chess. Whereas a nation would be viewed as millions, or perhaps billions, of individuals according to individualism, they are seen as possessing one collective body in the case of collectivism. Citizens are no more than statistics on a page (or in today s case, on a screen) to the governing bodies conforming to collectivism, and as such are no longer human beings whose feelings and opinions matter. Rather that accepting a mob rules mentality, these governments choose to manipulate the people to be the collective they want them to be. Clearly, this drive is best demonstrated through Faustus himself when asked by his fellow scholars to summon Helen of Troy in the B text: Gentlemen, for that I know your friendship is unfeigned, It is not Faustus custom to deny The just request of those that wish him well. You shall behold that peerless dame of Greece (5.1.18 21). Faustus strong desire to impress others doubtlessly derives from his fear of being rejected by those of high stature in society; he wishes to belong with them and not from whence he came. Furthermore, Stephen Orgel notes in Magic and Power in Doctor Faustus , that although Faustus has unlimited power, he only conjures what is asked of him, never striving beyond or testing his boundaries, and that this represents two major flaws within Faustus: an artistic failure of imagination and a scholarly failure of originality (396). Next, an explanation of some of the changes that have occurred during the history of REBT and a call for some future developments. Finally, some criticisms of REBT are debated. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Past, Present, and Future Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) was first developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 (Dryden, David, Ellis, 2009). Albert Ellis was influenced by the teachings of many different stoic philosophers, including Epictetus, which taught that humans are not disturbed by the actual things that happen to them but by their perception of those things (Dryden et al., 2009). Hence, Ellis termed this therapy rational psychotherapy in order to emphasize the cognitive aspect of his therapy and to differentiate it from other psychoanalytic therapies (Dryden et al., 2009). However, he had to change the name of his therapy to rational emotive therapy in 1961 due to critics accusations of the therapy ignoring clients emotions, and then again in 1993 to rational emotive behavior therapy in order to emphasize the behavior aspect of therapy (Dryden et al., 2009). The fawn has to rely on its mother s teachings and also its own instincts, Animals raise their young to survive on their own by means of hunting and keeping themselves protected, while parents send off their children to survive on their owns by means of motivation, determination and independence. I was raised by my parents and they are sending me off into the wild in a way, since this is my first time away from home and away from them. I feel grown enough to survive and I will do my best to make them proud and use everything they have taught me. I am the fawn, raised by my Mother and taught how to survive. However, my Mom is still holding on, which isn t necessarily bad but sometimes hinders me on my own journey. When you are this age it feels like you are stuck in limbo, no longer a child with your parents by your side but also not an adult yet either. • 30. New York City, Tokyo And Paris Introduction: With all major cities in the world, such as: New York City, Tokyo and Paris, comes a exceptional transit system. Whether its is subways, buses, light rail transit (LRT) or a combination of the above, they all perform a crucial role in transporting people from one destination to the next. Since opening in 1954, Toronto s Transit Commission, also known as the TTC, has a system that just about cover every part of Toronto, with 4 subway/rapid transit lines, 143 bus and 11 streetcar routes in 2015, (TTC, 2015). Unfortunately, the TTC is still plagued with many problems, such as: unexplained delay and overcrowding, which decline the riderships and revenues (Curry, 2016; Hume, 2016). Furthermore the population of the greater toronto area (GTA) is expected to grow in the upcoming years, Toronto s transit system would not be ready for the increase in capacity (CrosstownTO, 2014). Therefore in order to increase the transit system s capacity and make it more appealing, more LRT/Bus lines would need to be built in the GTA due to their constructability, benefits to society and the environment, flexibility in suburbs and their low risks in meeting ridership goal. Constructability Planning and constructing a new transit system is simple and inexpensive task . Everyones loves the idea of subways, those electric powered trains can travel at rapid speeds of 24 39 km/hr with their own right of way and carry over 1500 passengers per train and serve as the backbone of any ... The Pardoner does not sugar coat anything; he always tells it how it is. He tells everyone from the start that he gets his wealth from greed. If the Pardoner was hypocritical he would have never told the travelers that he is greedy. He would have tried to make it seem as though he were righteous and has never fallen into avarice. The Pardoner always tells the travelers what he is thinking. He told them that he wanted to sell them pardons so that he can get money. He never lies to the travelers about his intentions. • 33. Examples Of Success Is Counted Sweetest By Emily Dickinson Despite having great notoriety in the present day, Emily Dickinson was not always recognized as a remarkable American poet. In fact, during her lifetime, Dickinson was seen as a reclusive woman who had failed to meet society s expectations. Dickinson lived out her life unwed, on her family homestead, rarely ever leaving the house, let alone her own room. As a result of her peculiar life, Dickinson found poetry as an outlet to express her feelings, experiences, and philosophy. In her reclusive state, Dickinson created nearly 1,800 poems, many of which challenged societal values of the time. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Dickinson s The Soul selects her own Society , she discusses the concept of individuality, and how it affects people in relation to society. To begin, Dickinson writes The Soul selects her own Society / Then shuts the Door / To her divine Majority / Present no more (1 4). The act of someone selecting their own society , as described in this poem, is a metaphor for finding purpose and meaning in life, and discovering what they wants to do with their time on Earth. Shutting the door is a comment on commitment, and how one must be completely devoted to the society in which they have selected. When compared to Dickinson s own life, it appears that this poem is making a statement on Dickinson s choice to live in seclusion. The society in which Dickinson has selected is the world of poetry, which she enjoys in the comfort of her own room. She quite literally shuts the door behind her, as Dickinson rarely left her own room. As for her commitment to writing poetry, the fact that she wrote nearly 1,800 poems makes it very clear that she was devoted to the society she had selected. Furthermore, Dickinson writes Unmoved she notes the Chariots / At her low Gate / Unmoved an Emperor be kneeling / Upon her Mat (5 8). While it is not explicitly stated who the Emperor is, it can inferred that the Emperor is a man of authority. This Emperor could quite possibly be a suitor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lareau and Cox did a huge study over foreseeing and forestalling potential problems. This is where parents alter the conditions under which their children functioned. They try to fix the problem before it becomes a huge problem or the help redirect the child in the correct direction. Lareau and Cox did a few interviews over middle class parents and how they got involved with their children going to school and headed to college. Did parents let their kids do everything on their own or did they get a lot of help from the parents. Lareau and Cox focus on two families. So how good is too good? Man s ability to make life or create perfect human beings so they can be in a state of Utopia will disturb the balance of nature. The uman Genome Project has been used for the cloning of genes responsible for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, retinoblastoma, cystic fibrosis, and neurofibromatosis. If other diseases like these are isolated, biologists can learn about the gene s pathology of isorders. For example, before geneticists cloned the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene, to confirm the diagnosis was expensive and very uncomfortable, the tests were also inadequate to detect carriers. But now, with only a blood sample, geneticists an detect most mutations associated with DMD rapidly. The genome information can be used to detect any gene mutations likely to happen to future generations of a family. It helps to predict which individuals have an increase susceptibility to diseases such as heart disease, cancer or diabetes, which result from complex instructions between genes and the environment. When biologists compare the human genome with the ge mes of other organisms, they may gain an insight into molecular evolution including human evolution. (New tools for tomorrow s health research, 1992). Biologists could use the genes to compare to other genes of other species, they may get more informat n or perhaps even closer to finding out more about the human evolution. • 41. The Characters Of A Monster In William Shakespeare s Titus... In William Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus the characters Aaron, Tamora, Demetrius, and Chiron are considered monstrous due to their actions that lead up to the tragic ending of the play. Jeffrey Jerome Cohen s idea of characteristics that a monster possesse would also classify these four characters as a monster. Although Tamora, Aaron, Demetrius, and Chiron are the most monstrous characters of the play, none of the other characters are considered innocent because they all contribute to the terrible ending. Cohen states in his essay Monster Culture (Seven Theses) a monster is manipulative and never exactly dies, these characteristics are seen in Aaron. After informing Titus about some information about sparing the life of his two sons Aaron says to himself, If that be called deceit, I will be honest and never whilst I live deceive men so, (3.1 192 193).
