Anorexia Nervos A Serious Physical And Emotional Illness...
Introduction What is anorexia? According to Merriam Webster, anorexia is defined as, A serious
physical and emotional illness in which an abnormal fear of being fat leads to very poor eating habits
and dangerous weight loss (Anorexia, Merriam Webster). Or in other words, those who suffer from
anorexia have a fear of being fat, so they consume little to no food. Anorexia is also linked to the
anorexia nervosa, which is an illness that can potentially be a life threatening eating disorder caused
by starvation and excessive weight loss (Anorexia Nervosa, Nationaleatingdisorder.org). Studies have
concluded that 90 95% of girl s and women suffer from anorexia nervosa and 0.5 1% of American
women suffer from anorexia nervosa. This disorder is one of the most common psychiatric diagnoses
in young women and is also one of the highest death rates of any mental health condition (Anorexia
Nervosa, NationalEatingDisorder.org). This paper will discuss the causes of anorexia and anorexia
nervosa, as well as the signs and symptoms of both, including how these disorders are linked to dental
and if available, what treatments can be used.
Etiology
What causes anorexia? Research has concluded that the cause for anorexia is inconclusive or
unknown. But many do urge that those who do suffer from anorexia, have this illness simply because
it runs in their family. It is said that females who have a parent or even a sibling who suffer from
anorexia or even an eating disorder in general may

The Wife s Lament
The two poems known as The Wife s Lament and The Lament of the Old Woman of Beare have
numerous similar qualities even though they both come from different people. The Wife s Lament is
an Old English poem that is exceptionally heavy with emotional content; it is a monologue from the
perspective of a sorrowful woman who appears to be undergoing significant sorrows due to separation
from her husband, most likely the result of exile. The other poem, The Lament of the Old Woman of
Beare, is an Irish poem with a first person narrator with the voice of a woman that discusses the
lamenting of old age. These are the rudimentary plots of the two poems, leading to the similarities that
these pieces of literature share, namely the theme of sorrows

1992 LA Riots

US History
Thesis Paper
1992 LA Riots On April 28, 1992, several riots erupted throughout Los Angeles, California due to the
unjust trial when several officers were caught on video brutally beating Mr. Rodney King on the
street. Thousands of African Americans were unhappy with the decision of the court allowing the four
officers to get off with no charges. During the LA Riots, over 55 people were killed, 2,000 were
injured, and 7,000 were put into police custody. It was nearly $1 billion in damages done to property
and 4,000 buildings in the city were burned. The three days of the LA Riots will be remembered in

It brought a community of African Americans and other races together. As a result of the rioting, the
voices of thousands were heard throughout the country and throughout the world. They were able to
get justice for Rodney King by following a famous quote of a civil rights activist Malcolm X This is
our aim. It s rough; we have to smooth it up some. But we re not trying to put something together that

may sound. In essence it only means we want one thing. We declare our right on this earth to be a
man, to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being
in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means
necessary. Although the rioters could have protested or showed their views in a better manner, they
still were able to have their voices heard on a national and international level, and this event has left a

Problems with Limiting Freedom of Speech
1.0 Introduction The following report was requested on behalf of the Communications department
situated within and will be conducted by . The report shall concentrate on and investigate what
problems would arise if freedom of speech was limited. It will be submitted by 18/10/2012. 2.
Findings 2.1 Who decides on the limitations of freedom of speech? The concept of Freedom of speech
is one which is held sovereign by many constitutions and individuals, especially within the American
states. The idea of limiting an American citizen s freedom of speech would be highly offensive and
seen as an act only a dictatorial Government would undertake which, with many factors considered, is
true. The actions that in many cases are considered by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The freedom of press within Cuba is also highly restricted, as are the media material available to
individuals, e.g. people within the nation must not access the internet unless permitted by the
Government this in itself is rare are the government are in high control over the internet and only
1.67% of the population have that luxury , receive any publication from abroad and if an individual
decides to do so they can be punished under one of the many ridiculously strict jail terms within their
constitution and they are also unable to listen to foreign radio broadcasts. The result in Cuba
restricting freedom of speech to such a high standard is the population within prisons are soared to an
imaginable number, meaning less space for the more serious criminals as most of the cells are
occupied by Journalists. 3. Conclusion It can be concluded that, by investigating the many factors of
the concept of freedom of speech, it should not be limited. Of course, it is considered that many
individuals or political bodies take advantage of the constitutional law, but because of the law they are
punished accordingly. If

Temper Tantrums Sociology
The behavior I chose was temper tantrums. When a authority figure gives in to this type of
misbehavior it teaches a child that this is the easiest way to produce a desired outcome. When this
behavior goes untreated it can cause problems at school and in public situation, and result in the child
not feeling the need to show effort because they can receive what they want not through hard work,
but through throwing a tantrum. I work in a foster group home and have learned that the temper
tantrums are not just caused by a parent spoiling a child, but can also be caused by domestic violence.
The child feels the need to gain some sort of control over a situation. The abuse they have experienced
has shown them that the correct reaction is a violent outburst, that all problems should be solved with
conflict. I have also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Giving the child attention outside of throwing a temper tantrum is a very effective positive
reinforcement, but this must be coupled with negative punishment by not giving the child attention
when they are throwing a tantrum. This starts to teach them that the best way to get a desired outcome
is by behaving the right way. Consistent is key to change the behavior. In my situation where the child
has loss a sense of control because of their abuse it is helpful to give them choices they can choose
instead of what they are throwing a tantrum about to help them gain control of the situation they are
in, for example you can t watch T.V. but you can choose either draw or read a book. A big
reinforcement is creating goals with the child that can be earned through good behavior, these should
not just include big rewards, but small ones on the way to help build trust that they will really receive
what they are promised for good behavior. Trust is key, once the child trust that you will provide all
the necessities of life without the child throwing a tantrum the behavior will

10 Week Songs
For most people, the work week starts on Monday, and we struggle just to get out of bed. Whether you
work at home, in an office, or someplace else, sometimes you need some good music to help you get
through the week. Here are my picks for the top ten songs about days of the week, with a separate
weekend songs posting coming up (Songs that almost made the cut were Monday Morning by Pulp,
Tuesday s Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Wednesday by Tori Amos, Friday by Ice Cube, Monday Monday
Monday by Tegan and Sara, Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones, Monday Morning by Fleetwood

the best part of the song is towards the end when the lyrics speed up: Dressed up to the eyes / it s a
wonderful surprise / to see your shoes and your spirits rise / throwing out your frown / and just smiling
at the sound / as sleek as a shriek / spinning round and round / always take a big bite / it s such a

stuff / it s Friday, I m in love. I think most people can relate to how we are connected to certain
people, but it s only when the weekend rolls around that we want to see them. If you can t relate, than

Gifts under Muslim Law and the Requirement of Registration:
An analysis of Legal Provisions and the Case Law
Faizan I Nazar*
I. Introduction
Registration of some classes of documents is compulsorily required under the various statutes like
Transfer of Property Act, Contract Act etc. The (Jammu and Kashmir) Registration Act, Svt 1970
(1922 A.D) is a specific Legislation which under section 17 enumerates the documents which have
been compulsorily registered under the Act. The first class of document which is enumerated under
clause (a) sub section (1) of section 17 of the Registration Act (hereinafter referred as the Act ) is an
instrument of gift of immovable property . Thus as a general rule gifts relating to immovable property

V. Fakhr Jahan Begum and Others referred to Muhammadan law by Syed Ameer Ali and approved the
statement made therein that three conditions are necessary for a valid gift by a Muslim: a)
Manifestation of the wish to give on the part of donor ; b) The acceptance of the donee , either
impliedly or expressly; c) The taking of possession of the subject matter of the gift by the donee,
either actually or constructively.
According to section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act no rule of Mohamedan law shall be affected
by chapter VII of the Transfer of Property Act relating to gifts. It, therefore, follows that an oral gift
made by a Muslim is a valid gift and does not require registration, which otherwise is not a valid gift
under section 123 of the Transfer of Property Act.
In the context of sec.17 (1) (a) the pertinent question is about the applicability of the clause (a) to
written gift executed by a Muslim in the light of section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act and the
rules of Muslim law relating to gifts. The courts for a long time obscured the answer.
In Sankesula Chinna Budde Saheb v. Raja Subbamma, the Andhra Pradesh High Court, after noticing
three essentials of gift under the Muslim law, held that if a gift was reduced to writing, it requires
registration under section 17(1) (a) of the Registration Act. It went on to hold that even if by virtue of
section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act, a deed of gift

strategy of selling casual apparel to the teen/ college market. When A amp;F was established 100 years

less attractive to consumers. Therefore, the Limited Inc. acquired it in 1988 and initially positioned A

Retailers from Old Navy to Charlotte Russe to Wet Seal continue to evolve their strategies to compete

different types of segments. A. Undervalued concepts. Despite the headwinds, several iconic retailers,
such as Aéropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle, will be able to take advantage of
the improving retail trends heading into 2012 to substantially improve their performance. They have
strong brands, considerable customer loyalty and are well managed. However, they need to focus
more effort on providing a unique consumer proposition in both product and experience, rationalizing
their store fleet, and exploiting both omnichannel and international growth strategies best executed in
a private environment away from the gaze of public investors. B. The youth lifestyle segment. The
teen space is a tale of two markets, where retailers like Zumiez and Buckle have stolen share from less
differentiated players. While both Zumiez and Buckle are richly valued, thanks to their best in class

Themes And Motifs In Quentin s Journey
Adventure is a clear theme and motif throughout his journey. While he loved the idea of finding
Margo, the quest to find her was ultimately better than finding her. Their trip spanned the entire East
Coast from Florida to New York. Speed pit stops, side stories of romance and even deadly cows were
encountered in the process of reaching his final destination. After shock and disbelief strikes himself
and the rest of his friends when they re left alone at a vacant and barren shack in the middle of
nowhere, his friends are ready to end the journey there and make it home in time for their senior prom.
Quentin had other plans. Quentin had gone blind, covered in the mask of love and made the choice to
stay alone, while his friends had begun their trip to return home. When Quentin finds Margo roaming
the streets of Agloe, he confesses his love, but instead of being met with joy, he discovers his
misdirection. Margo wasn t leaving clues for him to find her, she was leaving clues to remind him that
she was safe. Quentin now becomes enlightened on the fact that she didn t bring him the happiness
that he had always wanted but instead the experience did. The experience of going on an adventure
was what made him feel good. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is hinted throughout the novel when Quentin is given the assignment from his High school

greater experience. Quentin remarkably refers himself to Captain Ahab while driving to New York,
foreshadowing the ending that he will realize that he would not actually capture Margo. This shows
the symbolism present in the movie and book. Sometimes whatever you think you are searching for

Compare And Contrast Hume s Riddle Of Induction
PHI 111, spring 2017
Paper #2 Induction
Inductive inferences are judgments about the future that the sun will rise tomorrow, that the hot stove
will burn me, that the (properly functioning) airplane will stay aloft, that the piece of metal will
expand if heated. Hume observes that such judgments are neither matters of fact nor relations of ideas
and so concludes that they are not proper objects of knowledge we cannot claim to know that the sun
will rise tomorrow, that the stove will burn me, etc. We can t even claim to know these things are
probable; inductive judgments appear not to be justified at all! But we make them all the time in
everyday life, and scientific practice seems to be based on them. How are we to make sense of our
inductive practices? Hume suggests that the answer lies in our psychology, that regularities in
experience give rise to habits of expectation. Popper and Goodman both argue that Hume s solution is
problematic, that we cannot explain our inductive practices simply by appealing to habits of thought.
Popper goes on to conclude that what we take to be inductive practice is really just a method of
conjectures and refutations and Goodman goes on to posit his new riddle of induction; what they have
in common, though, is a concern about Hume s psychological solution to the riddle of induction. ...

Importance Of Reading And Writing
Reading and writing is very essential in one s lifetime. People always say they don t like reading and
they don t like writing because it s boring and they have no interest, but little do they know they do it
way more than they think. Everyday you re reading and writing, it might not be reading from a book
or writing an essay but you re doing it. Most of you re reading comes from you reading texts
messages, reading comments and captions on social media, reading road signs, etc. Most of your
writing comes from typing those text messages and comments and captions. Without reading and
writing you will basically have the same mental capacity of a rock. You wouldn t be able to get out the
right pronunciation of words correctly and be able to understand thigs people are trying to tell you or
write out to you. Other than oxygen and water reading and writing is the most essential part of a
human s life.
As a young kid, I was always good at reading and writing. I always had some of the best hand writing
and I could always spell out words easily. Back then my mom would put me on different learning
mechanisms like children s books and Hooked on Phonics. Those tools it what helped me to be the
good speller, reader writer I am today. I used to showcase my talents in the annual spelling bee s every

2-Methylbutane Lab
In this lab, concentrated HCl was added to 2 methyl 2 butanol in a separatory funnel. The reactants
were shaken to help the reaction occur quickly. The separatory funnel was vented several times, to
reduce pressure that resulted from the reaction which was due to the high vapor pressure of HCl. The
Hydrochloric acid will dissociate, and the H+ will react with the OH C to form H2O C. The H2O is a
good leaving group. As the LG is on a tertiary carbon, an Sn1 reaction should occur. In the rate
determining step, the water will leave, to produce a tertiary carbocation. In the second (fast) step, the
Cl nucleophile from the dissociated HCl will attack the carbocation and 2 chloro 2 mehtylbutane
forms. In this reaction, some E1 also occurs; however, HCl will react with the product of E1 to
produce the 2 chloro 2 methylbutane product. In the lab, after the reaction occurred, the product
needed to be purified as excess HCl was used and still remained. To purify the product, a series of
reactions were completed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The percent recovery was calculated by finding the moles of the initial and final products. The moles
of the initial product were found by multiplying the volume used by the density of 2 methyl 2 butanol,

and that the lab went as expected. To improve the recovery, the extractions could be done even more
carefully. To analyze the purity of the product, an IR test was run. 2 methyl 2 butanol has a large OH
peak; 2 chloro 2 butane does not, but otherwise looks quite similar. The main peak on 2 chloro 2
butane is a C Cl peak; however, this peak is not revealed with this IR machine, so it could not be
analyzed. The IR chart for the experimental product did not have the OH peak and looked like the
theoretical IR chart, meaning it was dry and that the desired product had been

Alternative Energy Can Effectively Replace Fossil Fuels
Alternative Energy Can Effectively Replace Fossil Fuels
In the U.S. alone, carbon dioxide emission levels have risen thirty percent since 2005. If the emissions
continue to rise at this pace, the temperature of the Earth may rise by at most, thirteen degrees.
Temperatures rising to that height could cause chaos across the world. With more and more people
burning fossil fuels every day, this unfortunate future is likely to occur. Fortunately, using pollution
free alternative energy could alter this problem. Developments for alternative energy use are already
being implemented today. Scientists across the world are working to make alternative energy more
efficient in performance and cost. While alternative energy is becoming more and more fit for use in
the everyday lives of people across the world, fossil fuels are still being promoted and used at a
frightening pace. Fossil fuels are causing constant increases of pollution and the unnerving reality of
global warming. Alternative energy would promote a clean, 100 percent pollution free source of
obtaining energy, provide less cost to the consumers that utilize it, and work at an even greater
efficiency than fossil fuels. With the possible, frightening reality of global warming creating a massive
threat to humans, the opportunity for alternative energy to replace fossil fuels is better than ever.
Alternative energy, unlike fossil fuels, are renewable. They also can obtain energy all over the world

The Important Beliefs Celebrated at Easter and How They are Celebrated
Easter Sunday comes at the end of holy week which consists of many days which have a significant
meaning. The six weeks leading up to easter is called lent and this is celebrated by many people giving
up one of their luxuries, for example, chocolates and sweets. They do this because they are
remembering when jesus was in the desert and was tempted by the devil and how jesus rejected his
offer. During the time of lent, comes a day called ash Wednesday which certain churches have the
ceremony of putting ash on to the foreheads of people as a symbol of receieving forgiveness.

Good Friday remembers how jesus was crucified which is a serious and sombre occasion. It is called
Good Friday because people remember how jesus sacrificed his own life to save mankind. The
anglican, Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches are stripped of all colourful decorations, crosses,
candles and hangings. This is to remind the worshipers of the fact that jesus felt deserted and desolate
on the cross. On Good Friday, when people attend the church, the story of The Passion is read, and in
some churches the priest will enveil a crucifix and say this is the wood of the cross on which the
saviour of the world died. The people will then walk up to the alter to kiss the feet of the carved christ
as a mark of respect. Free churches will not have the same ritual, but they will have a service in which
the Passion story is read and thanks will be given to Jesus for going on the cross and saving humanity
from their sins.

The Problem Of Drugs And Alcohol Abuse
Introduction
My chosen contemporary social problem is drugs and alcohol abuse. It goes without saying that drugs
and alcohol abuse is one of the most significant social problems not only in the United States but also
around the world. As a matter of facts, drugs and alcohol abuse is a problem with innumerable effects
both on the body and mind of a person. Many times, these adverse impacts affect the families, friends,
and acquaintances of the addict whereby, for instance, the latter may lose their jobs or cause chaos.
Consequently, I chose this topic because it is a major problem in my community. Not a single day has
ever ended without me coming across a drug addict begging for money. To my dismay, some of these
people are usually so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are those who view addiction as a choice and firmly believe that drug addicts did this to
themselves. In one way of combating this problem, President Donald Trump declared opioid crisis a
state emergency. He claimed that the epidemic exceeded anything he had witnessed with any other
drugs in his entire life (Jacobs, 2016). By making this everyone s problem, Trump is ably working on
his major plan to combat these two problematic drugs by building a wall on the US Mexico border.
Approach
As already mentioned, most people in Boston do not give any weight to the escalating drugs and
alcohol abuse problem. In fact, some view it as a self inflicted problem, and this has made Boston a
region with the highest rate of emergency room visits as a result of illicit drugs and heroin related
cases. The suburban kids are stereotyped as the most affected and that they get hooked on heroin as a
cheaper option to other prescription medication.
I have grown up knowing that this is a problem many children all over the world have had to deal
with, such that they grow up without their parents and those who are lucky enough are taken into
foster homes. Unfortunately, the higher percentage of them ends up becoming street children. The
effects of drugs and alcohol abuse are adverse to all people irrespective of their age, race, and religion.
However, growing up in a society

to 7.5 billion dollars. What is the reason for this sudden increase in spending? According to the
Allegre Ringos interview Dr. Ker Scare Specialist discussed that dopamine is released into the brain
and produces a natural high. Which is what some people like thrill seekers love that feeling when they
go on a rollarcoaster or skydive. Of course it all just depends on the person since some people HATE
the feeling of being scared or just arent interested in it. People are sometimes fascinated with things
that scare us like monsters or even death, since we don t know what happens after we die. Rather some
get scared from reading scary stories, as a way to get scared without having to go out without to be
frightened since the stories give us the chills. When reading scary stories its as if you are going into a
whirl of mysterious, disturbing, and frighting feelings. Poems like ( The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe )or
(Beware: Do Not Read This by Ishmeal Reed) involve the reader with the story not with spooky
ghouls but with the despairing thoughts that can occur in the human mind and involve detail which
provides us with imagery of what is happening in the poems, the structure, and style of the poems are

The Orlando Gay Nightclub Shooting Essay
Twenty four year old Daniel Zamudio was walking through a park in Santiago, Chile, when four men
appeared and began to burn Daniel with cigarettes and beat him with rocks and glass bottles, injuring
him in various ways (Saul). The men used the broken glass to cut off a part of his ear, as well as, cut
swastikas into his skin because Zumudio was gay (Saul). Less than a month later, Daniel Zamudio
passed away due to this violent hate crime (Saul). Although only few instances of homophobic crimes
are reported, FBI statistics show that attacks on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual,
queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, and pansexual (LGBT+) community, such as the Orlando
gay nightclub shooting, are one of the common occurrences, right behind racial attacks (Saul). LGBT
people have made outstanding progress on their goal to reach equality. For example, same sex couples
now have the right to adopt children in all the states of America and thanks to President Obama,
federal workers cannot be discriminated upon sexual orientation or gender identity (Clinton).
Although the LGBT+ community has civil rights that should be protected, due to society s narrow
mindedness, the LGBT+ community gets treated as second class citizens.
Education is an important factor in life in order to thrive, but LGBT students face harassment in
school due to their identity. According to a Human Rights report conducted in 2001, two million
American students in the LGBT

Reaction To The Stamp Act Essay
Reactions To The Stamp Act The Stamp act was a law passed by the British parliament in 1765. It was
a law that said every piece of paper had to have a stamp. England would use the money from the
stamps to help pay for the recently concluded French and Indian War because England was in a great
deal of debt. People in the colonies thought of themselves as equal to the people in England, but the
people in Britain didn t agree. So when the British tried to force a tax on them, the colonists realized
the truth. This sparked things in the colonies such as riots and the burning of supporters houses.
Different groups of colonists reacted differently to the stamp act; wealthy colonists reacted more
nonviolently, with petitions and letters, while commoners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wealthy politicians took a more peaceful route. They mostly wrote petitions and wrote letters to
the England. But, this strategy didn t work that well because they would do this in their private time,
so nobody knew about it. Unfortunately, rich government officials that were against it personally
would have to publicly have to say they were for it out of fear of losing their job because if the British
saw the people that were supposed to be enforcing these rules, they would be fired. These more
peaceful routes were largely ignored by people in Britain. The other reaction to the British Parliament
trying to pass the Stamp Act has by the commoners, or people without wealth. They reacted with large
scale riots and protests. They would burn down people s houses that supported the Stamp Act. They
even did a hanging in effigy (which is when you hang something in place of a person that doesn t exist
or you can t hang at that time) to the Tax Man . The Tax Man represented what they thought of The
Stamp Act and their defiance of Britain. These violent acts got the results they were looking for and on

Philosophy Of Baptism Research Paper
Teaching
The Catholic church teaches that Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in
the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Baptism not only purifies from all
sins, but also makes the non believer a new creature, an adopted son of God, who has become a
partaker of the divine nature, member of Christ and co heir with him, and a temple of the Holy Spirit.
(CC:1265) Christ has ordained that Baptism should have the power of removing all punishment for sin
including Original Sin as well as any and all sins that may have been committed by the person being
baptized. This includes eternal punishment, as well as any temporal punishment that was owed for sins

CCC, n. 1266).
The three theological virtues that are infused in Baptism are faith, hope, and charity. Baptism is the
ordinary means of their infusion. Baptism then, puts into the soul a power to believe in the word of
God revealing, a power to hope in the promise of God proffering to man the vision of Himself in
heaven, and a power to love God above all things as a child loves its father, for in Baptism we are
made adopted children of God and heirs of heaven.
4.)Conferral of the right to special sacramental grace
By virtue of Baptism we are not only delivered from the greatest of all evils, but are also enriched
with invaluable goods and blessings
Baptism enables the baptised person to cope with suffering in this life, to resist sinful tendencies, and
to grow in holiness and live well the Christian life
Through Baptism our souls are replenished with divine grace, by which we are rendered just and

FINDING A BALANCE
Finding a Balance: Europa Universalis IV
In many ways, Europa Universalis 4 is less of a game about history, and more of a game about
understanding history. In this game, you play as any nation from 1444 until 1821, from the dawn of
the fall of the Western Roman Empire until the death of Napoleon, and your goals as a state are only
limited by your imagination and skill. Accomplishing a world conquest is completely within the realm
of possibility for a skilled player, or you could be the type of player who simply wants to form
Germany or unite the Holy Roman Empire.
The player can begin the game at any date during the period which the game takes place, with the map
of the world being representative of the actual world at that time, but players will often find that their
games do not come close to this accuracy even when the player has nothing to do with it. Because
every nation is played by an AI just as long as you have been playing your nation, sometimes variation
happens. From personal experience, I have seen
Venice control almost all of Greece when I was playing an Asian country. It is this variation which
gives the game excitement; if I knew how the game would progress every single time, I would play
one game and never play again.
On one hand, you have a serious, historical simulation of the world and how it progressed, and on the
other hand you have a game where Ulm, a German minor, can take over the entire European continent
within several hundred

Analysis Of The Grumbling Hive, By Bernard Mandeville
The renowned economist Milton Friedman once said, Innovation comes from self interest, not
government agencies. This idea, seen as controversial and offensive to many, is at the core of Bernard
Mandeville s argument in his poem, The Grumbling Hive: or, Knaves turn d Honest. The poem
compares the working of society to a busy hive. The hive is flourishing until suddenly the bees
become honest and righteous leading them to live simple lives without a thrive community. Through
this analogy, Mandeville argues that pursuit of private vices generates public improvements and
economic prosperity, meaning, individuals tendencies to pursue their own vices, such as lust and greed
to innovation for society as a whole. This is demonstrated through the benefits of marijuana
legalization.
Mandeville addresses many aspects of degeneracy and selfishness within private life, highlighting vice
as an intrinsic and unavoidable part of . Vice, by Mandeville s standards, is an action that fulfills the
individual in some respect but is immoral, selfish, and unfair. The seven deadly sins provide a
framework for behavior that would be considered detrimental and self regarding. Mandeville, in the
poem, provides examples of such actions within all echelons of society. Mandeville writes, Physicians
valu d Fame and Wealth/ Above the dropping Patient s Health (71 72). As example of greed, medical
professionals pursuit of capital gain and social stature are the driving factor in treating patients rather
than an altruistic desire to aid humanity. Again, Mandeville displays occurrences of vice within
society by demonstrating instances of individual s pursuit of wealth at the expense of others, Their
Kings were serv d, but Knavishly,/ Cheated by their own Ministry;/ ...Robbing the very Crown they
saved (113 117). The King s own advisors and officials steal from him, greedily pursuing their own
self interests over that of the Kingdom. Mandaville is a realist in the sense that he acknowledges
humanities inherent drive to serve oneself before others and engage in immoral and corrupt behavior.
He addresses greed and dishonesty in private life without hesitation or resentment. It is this self
pursuit that Mandeville argues actually

Facebook Is The Most Popular Social Networking
THIS TERM PAPER HAS BEEN SUBMITTED BY TRIPTI GAGRAI ID 214120 SOCIOLOGY 1
ON 5TH SEPTEMBER 2014 DURING THE MONSOON SEMESTER 2014 INTRODUCTION:
Facebook is the most popular social networking site over the world with more than eight hundred
million users. It has become so much part of people s life that anyone can get access to their personal
information. Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg with the concept of allowing people to share
their common interest, but with time it has lost its real essence. As a matter of fact, it is a very useful
medium of communication to stay connected with friends and family, but it has some positive as well
as negative effects on the society. It is a social network which was created as a social media platform
to connect people and in many ways it seems that it has achieved its purpose. However, facebook s
popularity and massive use masks its psychological damages which are: addiction, depression and
isolation. The following analysis deals with both positive and negative effect of Facebook on the
society especially on students. Most students start using it as a pastime, but often end up getting
addicted of it which sometime is annoying. OBJECTIVE: The main objective of this project work is to

Racial Profiling Term Paper
Racial profiling is a popular method used by law officers in order to hypothetically enhance crime
prevention by targeting minorities, because they are more likely to commit a crime. According to
Wikipedia, racial profiling is defined as: the inclusion of race in the profile of a person considered
likely to commit a particular crime or type of crime. In other words, it is targeting specific ethnic
groups because they are more likely to commit certain crimes. Racial profiling is a flagrant form of
racism. According to Dictionary.com, racism is defined as hatred or intolerance of another race or
other races. Nevertheless, it shouldn t be confused with stereotyping, because they are two different
things even if racial profiling is heavily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What if one of the people that took me aside in country B would come to my country and he would be
considered as a slave? Under the ethical theory known as the Veil of Ignorance , every person in
society has the right to equal freedom. Also if there is an inequality in society, it must be to everyone s
advantage. Since racial profiling violates a person s freedom, the violation benefits no one, therefore
racial profiling should be considered immoral.
One way of trying to eliminate racial profiling, would be through extensive data collection because it
is beneficial on many fronts. According to http://www.racialprofilinganalysis.neu.edu/background/,
data collection gives the following benefits:
• Send a strong message to the community that the department is against racial profiling and that
racial profiling is inconsistent with effective policing and equal protection
• Build trust and respect for the police in the communities they serve
• Provide departments with information about the types of stops being made by officers, the
proportion of police time spent on high discretion stops, and the results of such stops
• Help shape and develop training programs to educate officers about racial profiling and interactions
with the community
• Enable the development of police and community dialogue to assess the quality and quantity of
police citizen encounters
• Allay community concerns about the activities of police

I just purchase the foods that I want and pay no attention to whether they are farm fresh , organic,
locally grown, etc. I will buy whatever is cheapest, not whatever is healthiest, most natural, or
whatever. My opinion and food purchasing habits will most likely not change after viewing this
movie. This question reminds me of high school health class, where we had to watch Supersize Me.
Everyone started saying how gross it is, that they are never eating at McDonalds again, or whatever
other promises they were making. All I could think was that I could totally go for some McNuggets
after school that day! I guess it is just because I have never worried about where the food I eat comes
from. However, I have always paid attention to salmonella and E. coli recalls. I remember not eating
beef or spinach or peanut butter when there was an outbreak in their plants, because why would I want
to get sick? So, I would say no, I will not change where or how I procure my groceries. I will not say
that I did not get sad watching those little baby chicks die, or the chickens getting slung around. And
those poor cows getting slaughtered, and that one that had that hole and the guy was digging around in
her stomach, and said that she was not in pain...how does he know?! He s just cut a big hole in her and
is sticking his hand in her stomach, and she cannot tell you that she is in pain!

The Bombing Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki
Bombing of Hiroshima On August 8th 1945 the first atomic weapon, a fission bomb, was dropped on
the city of Hiroshima in an attempt to force the Japanese to surrender in World War II (Bombing of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki, 2009). This event exposed the danger of nuclear energy. This massive
explosion demolished 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. This was only the
beginning though, tens of thousands of innocent people died due to the aftermath of radiation
exposure for another generation (Rosenberg, n.d). This day marks one of the most controversial in
history. While some argue that Truman s decision to drop the bomb was in America s best interest,
others question the ethics of dropping the most destructive weapon in the history of war on a city
filled with innocent civilians (Pavlik 1995). In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt received a letter
from Albert Einstein. In this letter, Einstein outlined a new field of physics in which the element
uranium could undergo nuclear fission, releasing an incredible amount of energy (Katayma, n.d).
Einstein stressed the military importance of this new field of study, as Germany seemed to be on the
verge of similar discoveries. He described the probability that a sustained nuclear reaction could be
produced and the possibility of the construction of extremely powerful bombs (The Manhattan
Project, 2014). Upon hearing this information, Roosevelt created a committee of American scientists

Research Paper On How To Shoot A Three-Pointer
If you are wondering how to shoot a three pointer the proper way, then you should Read and follow
the steps I call B.E.E.F. Basketball players like Stephen Curry, Dirk Nowitzki, Buddy Hield, Klay
Thompson, Kyrie Irving, Kyle Korver, Eric Gordon and so any many other significant NBA shooters
apply B.E.E.F in their jump shot. The first letter in B.E.E.F is B. B, is for Balance. What that means is
that you have to keep your feet shoulder width apart with your dominant foot slightly ahead of your
other foot, about six inches while bending your knees for a good foundation. By applying this step in
your stance before you shoot, it will improve your chance of making a three pointer. Next, comes E,
which stands for Eyes. What that means is that

Eleanor Of Aquitaine And The Middle Ages
One of the of the most prominent figures of the middle ages was Eleanor of Aquitaine. Due to the
inheritance of her father s vast estate at the age of 15, Eleanor became the most sought after bride in
the nation. She became queen of France, queen of England, and led a crusade to the holy land. Not to
mention, Eleanor is also honored for her famous court of love. Born in modern day Southern France in
1122, Eleanor de Guyenne, also known as Eleanor of Aquitaine, was the eldest daughter of William X,
tenth Duke of Aquitaine and Aenor of Chatellerault. She was brought up in one of England s most
cultured courts and was enthralled with riding and hunting. She was thoroughly versed in literature,
philosophy, and several languages. Eleanor began training for the rigors of court life at the age of five,
and was extremely bright to say the least. When Eleanor was fifteen, her father set out on a pilgrimage
to the shrine of St. James of Compostella, leaving his daughters in the charge of Geoffrey de Lauroux,
Archbishop of Bordeaux. He took gravely ill on his journey home and passed away on April 9, 1137.
Eleanor, the heiress, inherited her father s authority and land. After the death of her father, she was
placed under guardianship of the king of France and quickly became betrothed to his son, Louis. Louis
and Eleanor married in July of 1137, but were not well acquainted before the death of Louis s father.
Within weeks of the royal wedding, Eleanor had taken possession of the

  • 2. Anorexia Nervos A Serious Physical And Emotional Illness... Introduction What is anorexia? According to Merriam Webster, anorexia is defined as, A serious physical and emotional illness in which an abnormal fear of being fat leads to very poor eating habits and dangerous weight loss (Anorexia, Merriam Webster). Or in other words, those who suffer from anorexia have a fear of being fat, so they consume little to no food. Anorexia is also linked to the anorexia nervosa, which is an illness that can potentially be a life threatening eating disorder caused by starvation and excessive weight loss (Anorexia Nervosa, Nationaleatingdisorder.org). Studies have concluded that 90 95% of girl s and women suffer from anorexia nervosa and 0.5 1% of American women suffer from anorexia nervosa. This disorder is one of the most common psychiatric diagnoses in young women and is also one of the highest death rates of any mental health condition (Anorexia Nervosa, NationalEatingDisorder.org). This paper will discuss the causes of anorexia and anorexia nervosa, as well as the signs and symptoms of both, including how these disorders are linked to dental and if available, what treatments can be used. Etiology What causes anorexia? Research has concluded that the cause for anorexia is inconclusive or unknown. But many do urge that those who do suffer from anorexia, have this illness simply because it runs in their family. It is said that females who have a parent or even a sibling who suffer from anorexia or even an eating disorder in general may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Wife s Lament The two poems known as The Wife s Lament and The Lament of the Old Woman of Beare have numerous similar qualities even though they both come from different people. The Wife s Lament is an Old English poem that is exceptionally heavy with emotional content; it is a monologue from the perspective of a sorrowful woman who appears to be undergoing significant sorrows due to separation from her husband, most likely the result of exile. The other poem, The Lament of the Old Woman of Beare, is an Irish poem with a first person narrator with the voice of a woman that discusses the lamenting of old age. These are the rudimentary plots of the two poems, leading to the similarities that these pieces of literature share, namely the theme of sorrows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thousands of African Americans were unhappy with the decision of the court allowing the four officers to get off with no charges. During the LA Riots, over 55 people were killed, 2,000 were injured, and 7,000 were put into police custody. It was nearly $1 billion in damages done to property and 4,000 buildings in the city were burned. But we re not trying to put something together that s smooth. We don t care how rough it is. We don t care how tough it is. We don t care how backward it may sound. In essence it only means we want one thing. We declare our right on this earth to be a man, to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary. • 5. Problems with Limiting Freedom of Speech 1.0 Introduction The following report was requested on behalf of the Communications department situated within and will be conducted by . The report shall concentrate on and investigate what problems would arise if freedom of speech was limited. It will be submitted by 18/10/2012. 2. Findings 2.1 Who decides on the limitations of freedom of speech? The concept of Freedom of speech is one which is held sovereign by many constitutions and individuals, especially within the American states. The idea of limiting an American citizen s freedom of speech would be highly offensive and seen as an act only a dictatorial Government would undertake which, with many factors considered, is true. The actions that in many cases are considered by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The freedom of press within Cuba is also highly restricted, as are the media material available to individuals, e.g. people within the nation must not access the internet unless permitted by the Government this in itself is rare are the government are in high control over the internet and only 1.67% of the population have that luxury , receive any publication from abroad and if an individual decides to do so they can be punished under one of the many ridiculously strict jail terms within their constitution and they are also unable to listen to foreign radio broadcasts. The result in Cuba restricting freedom of speech to such a high standard is the population within prisons are soared to an imaginable number, meaning less space for the more serious criminals as most of the cells are occupied by Journalists. 3. Conclusion It can be concluded that, by investigating the many factors of the concept of freedom of speech, it should not be limited. Of course, it is considered that many individuals or political bodies take advantage of the constitutional law, but because of the law they are punished accordingly. If ... • 6. Temper Tantrums Sociology The behavior I chose was temper tantrums. When a authority figure gives in to this type of misbehavior it teaches a child that this is the easiest way to produce a desired outcome. When this behavior goes untreated it can cause problems at school and in public situation, and result in the child not feeling the need to show effort because they can receive what they want not through hard work, but through throwing a tantrum. I work in a foster group home and have learned that the temper tantrums are not just caused by a parent spoiling a child, but can also be caused by domestic violence. The child feels the need to gain some sort of control over a situation. The abuse they have experienced has shown them that the correct reaction is a violent outburst, that all problems should be solved with conflict. I have also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Giving the child attention outside of throwing a temper tantrum is a very effective positive reinforcement, but this must be coupled with negative punishment by not giving the child attention when they are throwing a tantrum. This starts to teach them that the best way to get a desired outcome is by behaving the right way. Consistent is key to change the behavior. In my situation where the child has loss a sense of control because of their abuse it is helpful to give them choices they can choose instead of what they are throwing a tantrum about to help them gain control of the situation they are in, for example you can t watch T.V. but you can choose either draw or read a book. A big reinforcement is creating goals with the child that can be earned through good behavior, these should not just include big rewards, but small ones on the way to help build trust that they will really receive what they are promised for good behavior. Trust is key, once the child trust that you will provide all the necessities of life without the child throwing a tantrum the behavior will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fakhr Jahan Begum and Others referred to Muhammadan law by Syed Ameer Ali and approved the statement made therein that three conditions are necessary for a valid gift by a Muslim: a) Manifestation of the wish to give on the part of donor ; b) The acceptance of the donee , either impliedly or expressly; c) The taking of possession of the subject matter of the gift by the donee, either actually or constructively. According to section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act no rule of Mohamedan law shall be affected by chapter VII of the Transfer of Property Act relating to gifts. It, therefore, follows that an oral gift made by a Muslim is a valid gift and does not require registration, which otherwise is not a valid gift under section 123 of the Transfer of Property Act. In the context of sec.17 (1) (a) the pertinent question is about the applicability of the clause (a) to written gift executed by a Muslim in the light of section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act and the rules of Muslim law relating to gifts. The courts for a long time obscured the answer. In Sankesula Chinna Budde Saheb v. Raja Subbamma, the Andhra Pradesh High Court, after noticing three essentials of gift under the Muslim law, held that if a gift was reduced to writing, it requires registration under section 17(1) (a) of the Registration Act. • 12. Themes And Motifs In Quentin s Journey Adventure is a clear theme and motif throughout his journey. While he loved the idea of finding Margo, the quest to find her was ultimately better than finding her. Their trip spanned the entire East Coast from Florida to New York. Speed pit stops, side stories of romance and even deadly cows were encountered in the process of reaching his final destination. After shock and disbelief strikes himself and the rest of his friends when they re left alone at a vacant and barren shack in the middle of nowhere, his friends are ready to end the journey there and make it home in time for their senior prom. Quentin had other plans. Quentin had gone blind, covered in the mask of love and made the choice to stay alone, while his friends had begun their trip to return home. When Quentin finds Margo roaming the streets of Agloe, he confesses his love, but instead of being met with joy, he discovers his misdirection. Margo wasn t leaving clues for him to find her, she was leaving clues to remind him that she was safe. • 13. Compare And Contrast Hume s Riddle Of Induction PHI 111, spring 2017 Paper #2 Induction Inductive inferences are judgments about the future that the sun will rise tomorrow, that the hot stove will burn me, that the (properly functioning) airplane will stay aloft, that the piece of metal will expand if heated. Hume observes that such judgments are neither matters of fact nor relations of ideas and so concludes that they are not proper objects of knowledge we cannot claim to know that the sun will rise tomorrow, that the stove will burn me, etc. We can t even claim to know these things are probable; inductive judgments appear not to be justified at all! But we make them all the time in everyday life, and scientific practice seems to be based on them. How are we to make sense of our inductive practices? Hume suggests that the answer lies in our psychology, that regularities in experience give rise to habits of expectation. Popper and Goodman both argue that Hume s solution is problematic, that we cannot explain our inductive practices simply by appealing to habits of thought. Popper goes on to conclude that what we take to be inductive practice is really just a method of conjectures and refutations and Goodman goes on to posit his new riddle of induction; what they have in common, though, is a concern about Hume s psychological solution to the riddle of induction. ... • 14. Importance Of Reading And Writing Reading and writing is very essential in one s lifetime. People always say they don t like reading and they don t like writing because it s boring and they have no interest, but little do they know they do it way more than they think. Everyday you re reading and writing, it might not be reading from a book or writing an essay but you re doing it. Most of you re reading comes from you reading texts messages, reading comments and captions on social media, reading road signs, etc. Most of your writing comes from typing those text messages and comments and captions. Without reading and writing you will basically have the same mental capacity of a rock. You wouldn t be able to get out the right pronunciation of words correctly and be able to understand thigs people are trying to tell you or write out to you. Other than oxygen and water reading and writing is the most essential part of a human s life. As a young kid, I was always good at reading and writing. I always had some of the best hand writing and I could always spell out words easily. Back then my mom would put me on different learning mechanisms like children s books and Hooked on Phonics. The separatory funnel was vented several times, to reduce pressure that resulted from the reaction which was due to the high vapor pressure of HCl. The Hydrochloric acid will dissociate, and the H+ will react with the OH C to form H2O C. The H2O is a good leaving group. As the LG is on a tertiary carbon, an Sn1 reaction should occur. In the rate determining step, the water will leave, to produce a tertiary carbocation. In the second (fast) step, the Cl nucleophile from the dissociated HCl will attack the carbocation and 2 chloro 2 mehtylbutane forms. In this reaction, some E1 also occurs; however, HCl will react with the product of E1 to produce the 2 chloro 2 methylbutane product. In the lab, after the reaction occurred, the product needed to be purified as excess HCl was used and still remained. To purify the product, a series of reactions were completed. ... To analyze the purity of the product, an IR test was run. 2 methyl 2 butanol has a large OH peak; 2 chloro 2 butane does not, but otherwise looks quite similar. The main peak on 2 chloro 2 butane is a C Cl peak; however, this peak is not revealed with this IR machine, so it could not be analyzed. Alternative Energy Can Effectively Replace Fossil Fuels Alternative Energy Can Effectively Replace Fossil Fuels In the U.S. alone, carbon dioxide emission levels have risen thirty percent since 2005. If the emissions continue to rise at this pace, the temperature of the Earth may rise by at most, thirteen degrees. Temperatures rising to that height could cause chaos across the world. With more and more people burning fossil fuels every day, this unfortunate future is likely to occur. Fortunately, using pollution free alternative energy could alter this problem. Developments for alternative energy use are already being implemented today. Scientists across the world are working to make alternative energy more efficient in performance and cost. While alternative energy is becoming more and more fit for use in the everyday lives of people across the world, fossil fuels are still being promoted and used at a frightening pace. Fossil fuels are causing constant increases of pollution and the unnerving reality of global warming. Alternative energy would promote a clean, 100 percent pollution free source of obtaining energy, provide less cost to the consumers that utilize it, and work at an even greater efficiency than fossil fuels. With the possible, frightening reality of global warming creating a massive threat to humans, the opportunity for alternative energy to replace fossil fuels is better than ever. They do this because they are remembering when jesus was in the desert and was tempted by the devil and how jesus rejected his offer. It is called Good Friday because people remember how jesus sacrificed his own life to save mankind. The anglican, Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches are stripped of all colourful decorations, crosses, candles and hangings. This is to remind the worshipers of the fact that jesus felt deserted and desolate on the cross. On Good Friday, when people attend the church, the story of The Passion is read, and in some churches the priest will enveil a crucifix and say this is the wood of the cross on which the saviour of the world died. The people will then walk up to the alter to kiss the feet of the carved christ as a mark of respect. Free churches will not have the same ritual, but they will have a service in which the Passion story is read and thanks will be given to Jesus for going on the cross and saving humanity from their sins. • 18. The Problem Of Drugs And Alcohol Abuse Introduction My chosen contemporary social problem is drugs and alcohol abuse. It goes without saying that drugs and alcohol abuse is one of the most significant social problems not only in the United States but also around the world. As a matter of facts, drugs and alcohol abuse is a problem with innumerable effects both on the body and mind of a person. Many times, these adverse impacts affect the families, friends, and acquaintances of the addict whereby, for instance, the latter may lose their jobs or cause chaos. There are those who view addiction as a choice and firmly believe that drug addicts did this to themselves. In one way of combating this problem, President Donald Trump declared opioid crisis a state emergency. He claimed that the epidemic exceeded anything he had witnessed with any other drugs in his entire life (Jacobs, 2016). By making this everyone s problem, Trump is ably working on his major plan to combat these two problematic drugs by building a wall on the US Mexico border. Approach As already mentioned, most people in Boston do not give any weight to the escalating drugs and alcohol abuse problem. In fact, some view it as a self inflicted problem, and this has made Boston a region with the highest rate of emergency room visits as a result of illicit drugs and heroin related cases. The suburban kids are stereotyped as the most affected and that they get hooked on heroin as a cheaper option to other prescription medication. I have grown up knowing that this is a problem many children all over the world have had to deal with, such that they grow up without their parents and those who are lucky enough are taken into foster homes. Finding A Balance 2 FINDING A BALANCE Finding a Balance: Europa Universalis IV In many ways, Europa Universalis 4 is less of a game about history, and more of a game about understanding history. In this game, you play as any nation from 1444 until 1821, from the dawn of the fall of the Western Roman Empire until the death of Napoleon, and your goals as a state are only limited by your imagination and skill. Accomplishing a world conquest is completely within the realm of possibility for a skilled player, or you could be the type of player who simply wants to form Germany or unite the Holy Roman Empire. The player can begin the game at any date during the period which the game takes place, with the map of the world being representative of the actual world at that time, but players will often find that their games do not come close to this accuracy even when the player has nothing to do with it. Because every nation is played by an AI just as long as you have been playing your nation, sometimes variation happens. From personal experience, I have seen Venice control almost all of Greece when I was playing an Asian country. It is this variation which gives the game excitement; if I knew how the game would progress every single time, I would play one game and never play again. • 25. Analysis Of The Grumbling Hive, By Bernard Mandeville The renowned economist Milton Friedman once said, Innovation comes from self interest, not government agencies. This idea, seen as controversial and offensive to many, is at the core of Bernard Mandeville s argument in his poem, The Grumbling Hive: or, Knaves turn d Honest. The poem compares the working of society to a busy hive. The hive is flourishing until suddenly the bees become honest and righteous leading them to live simple lives without a thrive community. Through this analogy, Mandeville argues that pursuit of private vices generates public improvements and economic prosperity, meaning, individuals tendencies to pursue their own vices, such as lust and greed to innovation for society as a whole. This is demonstrated through the benefits of marijuana legalization. Mandeville addresses many aspects of degeneracy and selfishness within private life, highlighting vice as an intrinsic and unavoidable part of . Vice, by Mandeville s standards, is an action that fulfills the individual in some respect but is immoral, selfish, and unfair. The seven deadly sins provide a framework for behavior that would be considered detrimental and self regarding. Mandeville, in the poem, provides examples of such actions within all echelons of society. Mandeville writes, Physicians valu d Fame and Wealth/ Above the dropping Patient s Health (71 72). As example of greed, medical professionals pursuit of capital gain and social stature are the driving factor in treating patients rather than an altruistic desire to aid humanity. Again, Mandeville displays occurrences of vice within society by demonstrating instances of individual s pursuit of wealth at the expense of others, Their Kings were serv d, but Knavishly,/ Cheated by their own Ministry;/ ...Robbing the very Crown they saved (113 117). The King s own advisors and officials steal from him, greedily pursuing their own self interests over that of the Kingdom. The Bombing Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki Bombing of Hiroshima On August 8th 1945 the first atomic weapon, a fission bomb, was dropped on the city of Hiroshima in an attempt to force the Japanese to surrender in World War II (Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, 2009). This event exposed the danger of nuclear energy. This massive explosion demolished 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. This was only the beginning though, tens of thousands of innocent people died due to the aftermath of radiation exposure for another generation (Rosenberg, n.d).
