Political Criticism Of Dracula
The interpretation of Stoker s vampire novel can be made from a political perspective. Stoker
novel is in respond to the political threat represented by the monster dracula. Stoker paints the
character of dracula to bring out the features of a colonizer who is yearning to spread his power
and authority beyond his home territory (England) with the objective of controlling other
domains. Certainly, it could be said that his his control of his own castle is waning fast. It is for
this reason It should be understood that colonization and the associated threats were the order of
the day even in to the close of the 19th centuary. To prove his power and control, the count controls
all the places he inhabits or owns. In the novel, reference can be... Show more content on

Though not shown in a straightforward way, the interconnectedness of these themes can be
traced to illustrate how the theme of rebellion is developed. This novel was published during an
era when women were suppressed and the community was struggling with other social problems
like homosexuality. Interestingly, Britain was at a phase when vigorous social changes were at
their peak. In the light of these vigorous changes, homosexuals could not help but express their
sexual frustration. In his novel, Stoker s presentation of the new woman , who is sexually active,
powerful and dominating, mocks the female suppression in that era. This indicates rebellion.
Conclusively, the homosexual symbolism presented in the novel could be considered as a way
for Stoker to relieve the guilt of his inability to help a dear friend, Oscar Wilde. Many hidden
incidents of rebellion were presented in this novel. It is with the help of a critical mindset that one
may discern many instances of rebellion in characters in the novel and in the author as

Essay on Narrative Therapy
Abstract
This paper will look at the logic of narrative therapy by focusing on 5 major points. This paper
will begin by discussing how the narrative approach defines and perceives problems. It will
address how narrative therapy views the nature of the relationship between the client and the
professional. This paper will look at how problems are solved using the narrative approach. It will
also focus on three main techniques used in narrative therapy, which will include externalization,
deconstruction and re authoring. This paper will also include a short narrative critique of the
medical model. The Logic of Narrative Therapy Narrative therapy is considered postmodern due to
the fact that it uses a story telling approach to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows
the client to begin to see where the discourse emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to
the story and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the
therapist begins to ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the
problem (Kelley, 1996). In deconstruction the therapist searches for answers as to who all is
involved with the problem, what past events lead up to the problem development, how the problem
changed over time, how the client has been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is
affecting the client s life (Kelley, 1996).
Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the
deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The therapist and the client begin working
together to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having
on the client s life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important
because it lays the foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade, Crocket Epston, 1997).
According to Monk, Winslade, Crocket Epston (1997) typically when the effect of the problem is
discussed with the client they begin to feel as if their story has been heard. They

Identity In Good Country People
Identity in Good Country People
Characterization is the biggest component that helps build on the themes of identity in the short
story Good Country People written by Flannery O connor. The theme itself is dependent where as
the characters are independent of each other. The characters behaviors build within each other.
Firstly, the main character in this short story is thirty two year old Joy who is now known as
Hulga. Her character is described as vulnerable to other people but in her eyes is seen as superior
to every other character. The feeling of superiority plays a role with her numerous degrees in
philosophy. The perspective of Hulgas identity to other people is indebtedness, this is because of
her hunting accident when she was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hulga, limited by her disabilities of being handicapped and her weak heart as she grew older,
her life has been restricted to the home she grew up in which is why she distants herself from
everyone and has only sticked with her belief in philosophy. Mrs. Hopewell s character is based
on her simplistic view of everyone either being a good country people whom are described as
poorer than landowners like mrs Hopewell and Hulga or white trash describes as poor and
uncultured. She is just like Hulga in the sense that she believes she is superior to everyone else
and thinks she can distinguish between these two classes which are the hard working people or
the untrustworthy people. Mrs. Hopewell has never really let Hulga grow up and still treats her
as if she was still a ten year old because she does think philosophy would open many doors for her
daughter and has never accepted her the way she is. Hulga has all the education and degrees to
start her own life but her mother is the cause of this pause in her life. In comparison to, Mrs.
Freeman who is the complete opposite of Mrs. Hopewell whom she has worked for, for four
years. O connor does not show her point of view in this short story only what Mrs. Hopewell and
Hulga describe her to be. She is described as very outspoken on whatever he thoughts are. She is
very familiar and used to the unexpected due to her daughter Carramaes early marriage and
pregnancy at the age of fifteen.

The Pros And Cons Of Knoxville Pedestrian Accidents
Knoxville Pedestrian Accidents Attorney When most people think about traffic accidents, they
think about collisions between motor vehicles. However, it is estimated that a pedestrian dies
every two hours in the United States in a crash related accident. During 2013, 150,000 pedestrians
were treated for injuries resulting from traffic crashes and 4,735 pedestrians lost their lives in
traffic accidents. In fact, pedestrians are about one and half times more likely to be killed in a
traffic accident compared to the occupants of passenger vehicles. Pedestrian deaths have increased
significantly in Tennessee since 2012. According to data from the Tennessee Department of Safety
Homeland Security, 68 pedestrians died in Tennessee traffic accidents... Show more content on

are at a higher risk of death and serious injury in a traffic accident for the same reason
motorcyclists and bicyclists are at an increased risk lack of protection. Occupants of a passenger
vehicle are protected by the vehicle in a collision. The vehicle takes the majority of the impact;
however, a pedestrian receives the full impact of a collision. There is nothing to protect the
pedestrian from the force of the impact; therefore, the injuries in a pedestrian accident tend to be
deadly or catastrophic. Common injuries in pedestrian accidents include brain injuries, spinal
injuries, paralysis, internal bleeding, broken bones, and fractures. Even a low impact pedestrian
accidents can result in injuries that leave the victim with permanent disabilities. A careless or

Dream Of The Rood Sacrifice
Many times, when an individual discusses Christ s sacrifice, they word it as defeating sin, as in
winning a battle. In the poem Dream of the Rood, the author explains the sacrifice through the
point of view of the cross while also including diction related closely to battle or war. One of these
instances is, I beheld Glory s trunk / garnished with grandeur (14 15). However, further on the
author then discusses how signs of ancient strife:/ beneath that gold (18 19), had begun to show.
During battles/war, soldiers fight relentlessly in order to return to their home triumphantly. Similar
to the strife and turmoil one may face during battle, Christ willingly and knowingly faced
difficulties/death to save humanity from sin. One must be willing

Brittle Rupture of Glass Plates
Guirguis Rezk SID 199991603 Objectives:
п‚· п‚· To understand mechanisms of the fracture of brittle materials (in this case, glass) To
recognize the variations in deformation and failure mechanisms which occur with a difference in
flaw size, (i.e. between scratched and unscratched samples) Defining flaw sizes in glass plates by
employing linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) Utilizing the Weibull statistics approach in
predicting probable failure in brittle materials.

Testing Procedure:
1. The thickness (t) and width (w) of the rectangular glass sample is measured. The first glass slide

This tension is produced by the bending moment of the load. For this reason the plates were
placed with scratches facing downwards so that the procedure could test the effect of flaw size
on fracture stress. Otherwise the experiment would have probably shown little difference
between scratched and unscratched samples. The scratched samples also showed consistent
directions in that they were nearly always perpendicular, this was due to linkage of cracks.
Whereas for unscratched glass, the crack will propagate according to the local shape and
direction of the defect. The three point bending test is used for brittle materials only for two
reasons. The first is because brittle materials cannot be tested with conventional uniaxial tension
tests because of early failure at the grips. The second reason is that LEFM can only be applied in
bending tests to brittle materials because yielding occurs around the same point as failure, so
failure stresses can be used to calculate normal tensions in the beam using Пѓ = Mc/I. That is the
stress versus strain diagrams remain nearly linear up until failure. Fracture toughness is the ability of
a material to withstand brittle fracture in the presence of a crack or flaw. The equation as
mentioned earlier is derived from linear elastic fracture mechanics and stipulates that crack length is
inversely proportional to fracture stress. The

Essay about Innocent Man by John Grisham
The innocent man is the story of Ron Williamson who was unjustly convicted of murder and spent
twelve years on death row before being exonerated by DNA evidence.
Ron Williamson was born in Ada, a small town in Oklahoma. His future looked bright when he
was young and he was an exceptional athlete who was drafted by the Oakland
Athletics. After an unsuccessful career in the minors Ron Williamson became a drug addict and
an alcoholic whose life steadily got worse. He could not keep any job and he began spending
most of his time in bars, and living with various friends. He soon accumulated a criminal record
that included DUI?s, check fraud, and two rape charges that did not result in conviction. He

The book starts of with a very brief biography of the victim, Debbie Carter and
takes us to the scene of her murder describing the manner of her brutal rape and death. Following
this first chapter the book follows the attempts of the Ada police department as they try to solve
the murder of Debbie Carter, and also the abduction of Denice Haraway a few years later.
From Grisham?s perspective it seems that the prosecution team was only
concerned about pinning the murder on someone and they really didn?t care who it was.
Interrogators literally forced Williamson to make his dream confession and this was the basis for
the entire prosecution even though the defendant was obviously mentally incompetent The
prosecution team used other unreliable sources of evidence, mainly hair samples, and ?jailhouse
snitches? who received reduced sentences as a reward of testifying against the defendant.
Eventually they manipulated an inexperienced jury into believing their insignificant evidence and
Ron Williamson was sentenced to death. His friend Dennis Fritz was sentenced to life in prison,
mainly for being the only friend Ron had when the murder occurred.
Tommy Ward and Karl Fontenot went through a similar process. Even though there is little
evidence to say they did not murder Denice Haraway they have never received

2. Recommendation of the book A Wrinkle in Time is a thought provoking novel that keeps
readers alert until the very end. L Engle starts the story off with a friendly and welcoming mood
by slowly informing the reader about the characters, the setting, and the problem. Then, she
progresses through the plot at a thrilling pace, presenting multiple challenges to the characters. L
Engle tells the story in a clear and concise way so that readers can understand exactly what is
going on in the story. Also, I feel that A Wrinkle in Time was an allegory that had a strong and
recurring theme true love can conquer evil. Students in high school can read this novel to search
for its figurative meaning while younger students can treat this novel as an exciting fantasy.
Overall, this novel is approachable to a wide variety of audiences, and I would highly recommend
A Wrinkle in Time.

Analyzing Sherlock Holmes Article Deduction
This passage comes from Sherlock Holmes s article on deduction, the unique process to which he
ascribes his success as a detective. He argues that through the power of deduction, or otherwise the
process of using clues and details to explain a hypothesis or argument. This passage shows a flaw
in Holmes s reasoning since the method being described is not that of deduction, but induction; the
process of making an argument to explain small clues or details. Nevertheless, Holme s reasoning
shows an important ideal in detective fictionof this era, where mundane objects are clues used to
aid the detective in solving the mystery. The detective is able to observe the ordinary object and

Holmes explains his idea of the human memory as a room with limited storage capacity. This
relates to Holmes crafting of his skill and ability to be specialised in knowledge relevant to his
work while being unknowledgeable about unrelated topics. Holmes presents an image of the
human mind as an open canvas that does not simply absorb information, but you must actively
choose what information to remember. Since the amount of information is limited, a person
should according to Holmes only select the information which pertains to their profession. The
passage identifies a person s ability to craft his own mind and develop skills which will enable
him to succeed in any field, something that would have attracted to readers of the middle class and

Combatting the Issue of Human Trafficking
Many organizations have formed to establish several resolutions for combating the issue of human
trafficking , both locally and nationally. I chose to investigate two existing social awareness
campaigns located in Ohio. The reasons I decided to explore these two organizations is because of
the obvious, that my classmates and I are in the state of Ohiobut overall, it is due to the fact that this
state rank s number five in the nation for human trafficking. There are explanations behind the
ranking of Ohio for this issue. The first explanation is due to the inner city centers and country
counties, which included a big immigrant population. The second explanation is due to five main
highways located throughout Ohio. These highways make it convenient for human traffickers
(Ohio State Bar Association, 2014). The first campaign is called Second Chance, and it is located
in Toledo, Ohio. Second Chance s mission statement is To offer supportive services to women and
youth affected by or at risk for involvement in sex trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation, as
they reclaim lives of choice. To raise community awareness about the issues of sex trafficking and
the commercial sexual exploitation of childrenand to work diligently to end the exploitation and
victimization of women and youth. To advocate with women and youth throughout the country to

division had a task force that provided input into the proposed installation along with potential

decision that was delaying their work. The letter went on: We cannot be held responsible or
liable for delays caused by others. The project was already two months behind, so problems were
becoming very real and serious. Karin finally decided to call a meeting of all parties to the
project and partnering agreement. She began by asking for problems people were encountering
while working on the project. Although participants were reluctant to be first for fear of being
perceived as a complainer, it was not long before accusations and tempers flared out of control. It
was always some group complaining about another group. Several participants complained that
others were sitting on decisions that resulted in their work being held up. One consultant said, It is

To A Mouse And Louse Summary
Silly Little Critter
(Three Messages From Mouse and Louse) When Robert Burns wrote To a Mouse as well as To a
Louse, he had to have been thinking about it pretty hard, because the messages of each text
connect to one another in many ways. In both of these texts, he used little critters that might
gross some people out. He didn t really use a creature that very many people found cute in any
way. It was a very creative way to go about, because he decided he would use a animal/insect that
people don t really pay too much attention to. There was a very genius reason to why he decided
to use pests as the main topic of his texts, and that s because it made all of the messages more
clear to the reader. Robert Burns was a really known author, and many people thought very highly
of him. According to Brooke A. Stopford, His greatest power, that which made him... Show more

This is a very true message in many ways. The main reason why this is most likely the best
message in the texts, is because Burns talked about how they don t have to live their life
struggling because of worrying. Something that humans do a lot of the time is stress over things
that might be big, but might also not be as important as we act like it is. In the text To a Mouse,
Burns said, Still thou art blest, compared wi me! The present only toucheth thee. What was being
said in this sentence is that even though the mouse s house got completely destroyed, instead of
sitting there and worrying about it, he just started building a new one. He doesn t know about the
past, nor the future. All that animals, as well as insects know about is the present, which gives
them a huge advantage over us. Same thing goes for the louse in To a Louse. He didn t know that
he could get hit by something at any minute and die, because unlike humans, they don t know about
death until it

Comparing Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman Architecture Essay
The two ancient civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome were the best of the best during their
time periods. Ancient Greece began around 2000 B.C. by the inhabitants known as the Mycenaean
s, followed by the Minoans. The Minoans built the foundation of Greece. The Roman Empire was
founded around 753 B.C. by the two twins, Romulus and Remus. Romulus ended up killing Remus
and built the city of Romeon one of seven rolling hills. Architecture was very important to both
civilizations and they were always trying to out due the other. The architectural style of the Ancient

most prevalent was around Greeks in Asia Minor and the Greek islands. A monument that includes
the Ionic order columns is the temple of Athena Nike. The Corinthian order columns are the most
extravagant type of column. It was the last column to be developed by the ancient Greeks. The
Greeks did not really use this type of column to its full potential, but the ancient Romans did (

Imaging Of Musculoskeletal Disorders And The Early 1900 s...
Imaging of musculoskeletal disorders began in the early 1900 s with the invention and utilization
of radiography and fluoroscopic equipment (McKinnis, 2014). Evolutions in imaging now allow
for clearer digital recorded images of fluoroscopy, radiographs, computed tomography (CT), and
magnetic resonance imaging (McKinnis, 2014). From the beginning, imaging has not been an
isolated or sole diagnostic tool. The clinician s expertise in the evaluation process, the
comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the patient, documented and reported patient history,
associated signs and symptoms, and the additional medical test results along with red flags must
be taken into account when considering referral for imaging (Dutton, 2012; McKinnis, 2014).
There are several clinical prediction rules and guidelines, which have been created to assist health
care providers in managing the utilization and prevention of inappropriate imaging (Dutton, 2012;
Gan, Harkey, Hemingway, Hughes, Duszak, 2016; Gidwani et al., 2016; McKinnis, 2014). Based
on the aforementioned information, not all spinal patients will require or should receive spinal
imaging. MRIs and other forms of imaging can produce false negatives, false positives, and reader
interpretation and assessment errors, therefore the results of a MRI or any other form of imaging
should not be the sole reason for any diagnosis or intervention (Dutton, 2012; Fu et al., 2016; Gan,

Examples Of Fear In Ww2
Fear of Three Throughout World War II
Taylin Boettcher
Fear: fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is
dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. There will be a point in every person s life when that
person will experience it, but could you even imagine the reality of barely surviving in a setting
where bombs and missiles fly all day and night? Many people underestimate the emotions and
circumstances of the people in the time of the wars. The Diary of Anne Frank, Camp Harmony,
and Unbroken are proof of this universal feeling during World War II. The theme that I will be
focusing on is: Fear is not uncommon and it affects many, whether it is their choice or not.
Anne Frank was an ordinary Jewish girl living in Holland and going to school with her friends.
But one day, Anne and her family are forced to go into hiding from the Nazi s. They lived in fear
that their house would either be bombed or that they would be found and taken to a concentration
camp. Most of the entries that Anne Frank kept in her diary indicated she was either in distress or
fright. In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can t build
up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery and death. (Frank 263) ... Show more

The coal ash that is buried underground still has the potential to seep into the neighboring water
supply. Also, the high risk ponds will not be evacuated until 2019 and the low intermediate risk
ponds as late as 2029. Subsequently, there will still be run off from these ponds polluting fresh
water for the time being ( House, Senate Approve ). This settlement is not a win for residents
surrounding these impoundments. Preventing seepage from coal ash ponds and completely
removing the coal ashes away from fresh water is the only way North Carolinians will feel safe
about their drinking water, no matter the proposed risk classification.
For instance, the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) handed out a Clean Water Act
permit to the Duke Energy Riverbend coal ash site on Mountain Island Lake on the Catawba
River which supplies water for Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Mount Holly, and Gastonia. This
pollution discharge permit is supposed to protect Mountain Island Lake from harmful coal ash
pollution coming out of the Duke Energy s Riverbend facility. In 2015, Duke Energy pleaded
guilty to criminal coal ash pollution and was issued to remove the coal ash pond at Riverbend. The

Macbeth Desire For Power Analysis
A power struggle is a common reoccurring event that is seen across literature , whether it s when
a character is trying to escape a higher power, gain power for themselves, or both. Macbeth, from
Shakespeare s play The Tragedy of Macbeth portrays this perfectly. Macbeth s drive for power is
the sole focus of the play and is an important trait that defines him as a character.
The Tragedy of Macbeth is driven by an adoration for power. Shakespeare utilizes the main
character, Macbeth, to speak to humanity s craving for power over one another. The first instance
that Macbeth can be seen to show his drive for power is when the three witches tell him All hail,

Since Macbeth has now been named king, after his sinful act and has obtained all the power that
he strived for, one would believe that he would stop these murder demonstrations. But in fact, now
that he has control and the power of the king , he is so jumpy about losing it, that he proceeds
with the killing s over power , which helps enhance the overall meaning of Shakespeare s The
Tragedy of Macbeth (Quote Insert).
Shakespeare s use of imagery and detail conjure up scenes of oceans and rivers of blood and pitch
black nights without starlight (Quote Credit). As Macbeth grapples with his conscience after he
kills Banquo, because of his suspicion of King Duncan s murder, he starts to see daggers and the
phantom of his closest companion before him. This leads to people starting to question Macbeth
s mental stability. Macbeth additionally orders Banquo s son, Fleance,to be killed because of
the witches proposal that Banquo shalt get kings, though thou be none, this shows that Macbeth
s desire for power causes him to be paranoid and to kill one of his closest companions, as well as his
son, if it were not for the desire of power that he is engulfed in (Quote Credit). The killings of
Banquo and his son help highlight how far someone would go and that people will surrender their
own personal morals to

Determining The Efficiency Of A Protocol
6.2RESULTS
6.2.1 Simulation matrix
There are number of metrics which are helpful for deciding the efficiency of a protocol. In this
work the parameters used to evaluate the efficiency of a protocol are the packet delivery ratio,
packet statistics in the network and the throughput of the network. The protocols AODV and
AODVBC are checked against these parameters for their performance. Packet delivery ratio of the
network is improved as the mobility with respect to the number of nodes changes. Increase in the
PDR (Packet delivery ratio is because of the less number of packet drops when AODVBC is used.
Fig. 4 justifies the better performance of AODVBC routing protocol over AODV protocol in terms
of less number of packets drop.
AODV and AODVBC protocol has been tasted over nine different scenes of 10 nodes, 20 nodes,

Issues of the Legalized Female Prostitution in the...
Receiving money to perform sexual actions has become either a lifestyle choice or a hostile option
for the female prostitutes in the Netherlands, particularly in the city of Amsterdam. The participants
involved in the legalized policy of prostitution are subjected to ambiguous impacts which involve
social, political, health, and economic divisions. Since prostitutionwas legalized as of the year 2000,
Amsterdam has seen a decline in criminal activity, allowing workers an increase in autonomy, and
provides better labor conditions. (Cruz, Iterson, 2013). ). The legalization of prostitution may have

disturbed or traumatic lifestyles, while some do enter prostitution through the forms of sex
trafficking and other related incidents, there are others who independently choose to become a sex
worker or prostitute. According to research, women that have been introduced to trafficking
networks derive either from forcefulness from groups or have deliberately chosen to enter the
workforce of the sex industry. (Barrett, Melrose, 2006). Even though sex trafficking is one way
of entering the sex industry in the Netherlands, it is not always perceived as a highly reviewed

What Is The Theme Of Honesty In Chaucer s Relatable Works
Regardless of the theme or style of a writer s work, a main goal when writing is to make a
memorable impact in the readers life. This is done by making the themes as relatable as possible,
as people respond well with what they can relate to. The relatability of a work arises from the
amount of honesty and sincerity present in the work. An example of an author who creates
relatable works is Geoffrey Chaucer, his writing, exemplified in The Canterbury Tales, is unbiased
and honest, creating an approachable text for any reader. Chaucer is also excellent at making The
Canterbury Tales relatable to everyone by giving his themes faces. Chaucer personifies tales themes
through their respective tellers by describing the tellers in an unbiased way... Show more content on

The wife of Bath s tale poses one question, what is the thing that women most desire? (282). This
question is later answered; A woman wants the self same sovereignty over her husband as over
her lover, and master him; he must not be above her, 286). This corresponds with the wife s
history and beliefs as shown her previously mentioned incident with her fifth husband. The wife
was only pleased when she won the power struggle. Applying this theme of a control seeking
woman to an actual character in the story as opposed to only a tale within a tale gives it more
truth, making the idea more personable and realistic. This allows the reader to fully comprehend
the concept. The wife s tale also states, cut short the lives of those who won t be governed by
their wives, (292). This quotation further supports the connection between the wife and her tale,
as this is a statement the wife would strongly believe in. When the reader is faced with a person
with a belief instead of being exposed only to the belief itself, the reader is more likely to accept
the idea as valid and genuine. It is easier to accept an idea when it is supported than an idea by

Arranged Marriages In Sixteenth Century England
In sixteenth century England, marriages were usually arranged. This seemed like a great idea at
the time because both families would benefit from the marriages, often with increasing wealth or
property. Even though most people already knew their spouse before they were married, it must
have been tough for them not to have any choice in who would become their husband or wife.
Divorces were a foreign concept to these ancient people, though occasionally marriages would be
annulled, or declared they had never been valid. We are no less careful in our marriages than people
in the sixteenth centre, yet annulling a marriagewas way less common back then. That says a lot
about us. In spite of the fact that a wide range of people had no say in their spouse, kings were an
exception. Since kings could marry whoever they wanted whenever they wanted, a lot of them
probably had a large amount of wives. Arranged marriages were about as normal in the sixteenth
century as iPhones are in the twenty first.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

why some of his wives had such horrible fates. That, and the fact that he WAS the king, so he

Bad weather forced a postponement for 24 hours resulting in the date of June 6th, 1944 the Day

external conflicts, when a character must deal with problems originating from an external source,

Access Mineral Reserves On Private Land For The Purpose Of...
A person cannot enter private land for the purpose of mining, including prospecting or marking
out without a permit to enter . Normally, an operator has the right to access private land for
purpose of preliminary activities, such as marking out land. Notice must be given to the
occupiers or owners of privately held land , but usually consent is not necessary. These rights of
access are generally mitigated by restrictions on private land, such as those near residence or

defined situations, the Crown can grant the right to access mineral reserves on freehold or
leasehold land to third parties. This excludes land already subject to a mining tenement or in
relation to a special prospecting licence . There are also circumstances where the applicant for a
mining tenement must obtain written consent from the private land owner and the private land
owner can veto the application . These circumstances include land that is: In bona fide and

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime Analysis
Every day, we are faced with decisions that challenge our moral values. Having a straight needle
on an individual s moral compass is always one of the best things that they can have. It teaches
them right from wrong, and tells them when they have to interfere and do the right thing. This
summer, the theme of this project was to do the right thing , and I was required to read two
books. I chose to read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon, as well
as Going Bovine by Libba Bray. Both books immediately grabbed me by the hand and took me into
their worlds, along with learning the important lessons behind both Christopher and Cameron s
stories. The emotions of each individual character play an important part in the development of the
characters, as well as the storyline. In Going Bovine, one emotion I noticed... Show more content on

Cameron s fear begins to really take effect when he realizes that he is rendered immobile and is
helpless to the images that are currently in front of him. Another emotion I noticed in Going
Bovine from Jenna was anger when she found out that Cameron punched Chet. You punched
Chet! Jenna s so pissed she actually takes out a non fat free pudding cup. (Bray, 60) Jenna, as a
sister, is embarrassed to have Cameron as a brother. The fact that her brother punched the guy who
she could have a potential relationship with most likely scared her, so she took her out her anger

The Illusion Of Universal Morality
The Illusion of Universal Morality

Throughout the chapter Moral Disagreement in his work Cosmopolitanism, Kwame
Anthony Appiah analyzes the issues of morality. Appiah essentially presents his argument in a
manner which questions the concept of what is ethically right and wrong. Furthermore, he believes
that societies and individuals will inevitably experience moral disagreements. From the author s
perspective, If we are to encourage...moral conversations between people across societies, we must
expect such disagreements. 1 As demonstrated in the reading, Appiah suggests that on a global
scale, unique societies fail to share the same evaluative language when discussing moral issues.
However, even when different communities share similar terms, the subjective nature of vocabulary
allows for contrasting interpretations. Finally, Appiah illustrates that various cultural groups place
different weights on the same values.
The vocabulary used in numerous parts of the world is quite diverse and multifaceted.
Kwame Anthony Appiaheffectively distinguishes the terms thin and thick as words applied to
describe moral disagreement within the text. The author admits that individuals from differing
societies share thin words, yet the lack of depth from this vocabulary results in an insignificant
description of morality. Appiah elaborates on this concept, explaining that [s]ome terms

Supporting Activity Essay
Provide real world examples of activities where each dependency type is used: finish to start, start
to start, finish to finish, and start to finish.
Finish to Start: the most common causal relationship hence no explanation is necessary for its usage.
Start to Finish: Rarely used but is useful when developing a schedule backwards from a fixed end
date.
Start to Start: this represents a true relationship between two activities and has nothing to do with
their predecessors. If I happen to have two tasks that start at the same time because of a predecessor,
that is better represented as two finish to start relationships (e.g. systems testing developing
documentation can both begin once development is complete, but there is no ... Show more content

Once negotiated with management, this estimate becomes your budget. As the project evolves,
additional information is discovered and further estimates are produced. This is an extremely
important process and we cannot emphasize enough the need for this re‐estimation or
re‐budgeting process at each phase of the project. In any case, for the purpose of this article, we
will call the revised budget the actual budget. Another standard activity is to provide management
with an expected cash flow. From a financial perspective this is an important activity, but it also can
be used as your cost expectation.
As the project progresses, you monitor the actual spending which becomes your actual cost. This
cost divided by your actual budget is the % spent, which can be compared to the expectation to
provide an excellent guide to where you stand cost‐wise. However, with respect to progress, cost
comparison alone is limited. A trend of the cost spending is a useful tool. Actual cost monitoring
has several constraints. The major limitation is the availability of the data in real time. Indeed, most
project accounting systems have major delays, usually due to the billing/payment system. It might
take more than a month before an invoice gets into the accounting system. The best way to resolve
this problem is to use a parallel real‐time approximated accounting system.
Invoices are accounted for as spent as soon as the work has been performed. Another inadequacy

Tennessee Nurses Association
In the United States, there are numerous organizations in which are geared toward advocating
for nurses and the health of a population. As a future nurse, it is enlightening and motivating to
see programs created for the purpose of nurse advocacy. According to Sills (2014), advocacy can
be described as any action that speaks in favor of, recommends, argues for a cause, supports or
defends, or pleads on behalf of others (Para. 2). By supporting and making recommendations, these
groups can work together to better the nursing career field as well as the health of a population. The

Sullivan s article, the TNA members express their gratitude towards the legislative powers for their
consideration and attempt to modify a recently passed bill. This bill was aimed towards increasing
disciplinary action towards a person assaulting a health care provider. The Tennessee Nurses
Association wished for this increase in discipline to apply to every individual, not just a health
care provider. Sullivan said, TNA would like to thank Representative Bob Bibb and Senator Diane
Black for their attempt to better protect health care workers (para. 4). This statement displays the
desire and attempt of the TNA to advocate for not only the nurses, but also the entire population.
The Tennessee Nurses Association has a goal to enhance nurse advocacy. For a nurse to practice
advocacy for patients, one must understand the importance. Research had to be done to determine
what the nurses were expected to advocate for their patients. Choi, Pin Pin, and Mei che Pang
(2014) conducted a study to discover how the nurses integrate the advocacy. Choi, Pin pin, Cheung,
and Mei che Pang s discovered that nurses are a huge part of recognizing safety concerns and health
changes for patients throughout their hospital stay (Para. 5). TNA Meeting
In a recent TNA meeting, held on September 11, 2014 at Lincoln Memorial University, members
discussed many factors that enhance the workplace environment as well as many ways to help

Body Systems Worksheet
This year seventh grade science was a significant fascinating year. I was delighted learning
numerous subjects, for example, minerals, rock types, the human body system and how it
functions, the heart, invertebrates, chemicals and chemistry, and so on. I took in a great deal
from science labs, books, review sheets, and powerpoints (that Ms.Castonguay made). The
subjects that were in the course book helped me understand more about the lesson we were
learning. I adapted more vocabulary words, however some perplexing words in the course reading
dazed me. The powerpoints, or slideshow was considerably more accommodating. We needed to fill
in the blanks on the worksheet given to us, and that would help us study for the test. The

everything interacts with the environment. I had a great time with my group, and had a great

has placed Nina under a firm control. This pressure of her mother and her director Tomas do not

to make him stop. When Nina bit Tomas lip it showed a sign of the Black Swan in Nina. Nina
wants to be perfect in every way she can so she practices everyday and takes some of Beth s

young girl taking her mother s make up to put on because she wants to be just like her mother
because her mother is her role model. Nina looks up to Beth as a prefect dancer a role model.
Nina is the perfect White Swan, and has to figure out how to become, the Black Swam the

In hopes to cut down on the speeding, speeding enforcement programs are put into place. With
these programs they help cut down on the speeding a little in some of the areas, but not all areas
can be monitored by police due to the limited space in most areas. Even with these programs
there are the drivers who just don t want to slow down when in the construction zones. When
drivers are speeding through these zones, they also switch lanes quickly which is very
dangerous in the tighter areas of the construction zones and can lead to accidents. The residents
that drive cars aren t the only ones speeding in these zones, but semi trucks speed through them
as well. When these big trucks are barreling through the already tight two lanes it can make for a
nerve wrecking drive. One way to try to avoid these crazy drivers is to always pay attention. Make

Le Verrier Controversy
This was only the start of this international debate, Le Verrier had contacted the London
Guardian, a local news group, about the accusations and stated that, When he scrupled not to put
into print that my calculations were not sufficient to command his confidence, did he not
perceive that he was bringing discredit on his own scientific penetration, when he attacked a
calculation ... Among men of science of different countries, there ought to remain only that
friendly rivalry, which, as leading to the benefit of science, so far from hindering, does but
cement, the frank and brotherly friendship of those who cultivate it. (Le Verrier, 1846a). To this,
Herschel had responded saying that, The prize (the discovery of Neptune) was by all rules
accredited to Le Verrier since his research was documented and brought to light before Adams
discovery . Almost seeming to assure the people of France that Le Verrier was sure to be given
credit to the discovery, however Herschel meant nothing of the sort. He himself wrote directly to
the editor of The Guardian stating, These Frenchmen fly at one like wildcats. (Herschel, 1846a).
Adams was often harassed by editors of newspapers about how he shouldn t be accredited, in any
amount, with the discovery of this new planet. Adams had tried to explain that he had
communicated all of his research to James Challis, the director of the Cambridge Observatory,
sometimes during mid September but the method of delivery wasn t able to be verified. He

Competitive Advantage Through Value Chain And Vertical...
We are living in a world, where technology keeps changing on day to day basis. In this ever
changing world of technology, the question is how are some companies doing better than the
others and what are they doing to maintain competitive advantage? Rise of technology has given
birth to competition by giving companies new ways to perform at higher levels and this has also
led to the ways companies are producing their products and services. Technology has affected
several sections of an organization by having an impact on business communications, company s
HR practices, and organizational changes. Therefore, in order to gain and maintain competitive
advantage, a company must do one of the two; either produce goods/services at a lower cost or
produce innovative products in a way that leads to differentiation and a premium price.
Section 1: Competitive Advantage through Value Chain and Vertical Integration
Companies are using value chain approach to better understand which key areas will give them the
greatest edge over its competitors. They are focusing on each division, distribution centers, pricing,
product innovation, selling techniques, and value chain formations.
Value chain is an important notion that highlights the role of information technology in the
operations of a company. A Value Chain is the whole series of activities that create and build value
at every step. The total value delivered by the company is the sum total of the value built up all

How Soccer Explains the World
Franklin Foer the author of How Soccer Explains the World: An Unlikely Theory of
Globalization is an important contributor of the small topic of the how soccer is related to the
world. Foer from the New Republic who writes from time to time in the well known newspaper of
the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal had traveled around the world especially the
continent of Europe, Asia, North and South America. Going from the topic of why the Islam
religion, Islamic law, and religious paramilitary militia prohibits the passionate, die hard Islamic
women fans; from attending and/or watching soccer games and then partying hard like the men
after the game if their country or favorite club wins. To the topic of how America relates to soccer...

All over the world, soccer is the main reason how some social classes, religion, and ethnicity are
today. Foer believes soccer is everything and it can decide how a country does in politics and
economics for years to come. To explain the first part of the back on how the rivals between clubs
and human beings is explained in the chapter How Soccer Explains the World The Pornography of
Sect. One of the biggest rivals in European soccer history is the Glasgow Ranger versus Glasgow
Celtics. For example when the Glasgow Rangers wear their orange jerseys which were showing
the color of Protestantism walking into their stadium during game day, they sing vulgar and
racist chants and getting into brawls outnumbering the Glasgow Celtic supports by 37, 000. A
chant you might hear is If you hate the f***in Fenians clap your hands (Foer 35) shows the great
hatred between the Protestants (Rangers) versus Catholics (Celtics) still going on today. This
was no who had more championships rivalry but the ancient history of the Glasgow Club. The
hatred of the Protestant to the Catholics is horrible and vice versa. For all capitalist goals,
however, Rangers don t try too hard to discourage religious bigotry. They continue to hawk orange
jerseys. They play songs on the loudspeakers that they know will provoke anti Catholic lyrics:
Tina Turner s Simply the Best culminates 40,000 screams of F*** the pope! (Foer 39) Of course,

How Did The British American Relations Lead To The...
On July 4, 1776, the Founding Fathers along with members from the Thirteen Colonies signed the
Declaration of Independence, stating that all men are created equal and that they had the right to
have life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. This document would become the United States
birthright and the ability to change its own government. By then, it would take another seven years
before the United Statescould win and become a republic. One agreement from the Treaty of Paris
included the fact that the country would have full access to the Midwest territories east of the
Mississippi River that was once under British control. However, the British American relations
remained hostile, which would lead to another war in 1812. Moreover, the government would not
become a true democracy that was represented by the people instead of the upper class for at least
the next decade. The American Revolutionfostered change in colonial North America s... Show

Within the next few years, the war turned into the favor of the United States. For example, the
Battle of Saratoga proved to be a massive victory that affirmed French support to the Continental
army. Nevertheless, the war would end in 1783 with the British signing the Treaty of Paris in 1789.
The British even promised to give the land east of the Mississippi River to the Americans and leave
the forts in the Northwest Territory. Therefore, the birth of the United States fostered a moderate
change in the relationship between the nation itself and Great Britain. The first form of a
republican government was born under the guidance of the Constitution, which allowed people
who have property to vote and create a massive fever of land expansion that would affect the entire

  • 2. Political Criticism Of Dracula The interpretation of Stoker s vampire novel can be made from a political perspective. Stoker novel is in respond to the political threat represented by the monster dracula. Stoker paints the character of dracula to bring out the features of a colonizer who is yearning to spread his power and authority beyond his home territory (England) with the objective of controlling other domains. Certainly, it could be said that his his control of his own castle is waning fast. It is for this reason It should be understood that colonization and the associated threats were the order of the day even in to the close of the 19th centuary. To prove his power and control, the count controls all the places he inhabits or owns. In the novel, reference can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though not shown in a straightforward way, the interconnectedness of these themes can be traced to illustrate how the theme of rebellion is developed. This novel was published during an era when women were suppressed and the community was struggling with other social problems like homosexuality. Interestingly, Britain was at a phase when vigorous social changes were at their peak. In the light of these vigorous changes, homosexuals could not help but express their sexual frustration. In his novel, Stoker s presentation of the new woman , who is sexually active, powerful and dominating, mocks the female suppression in that era. This indicates rebellion. Conclusively, the homosexual symbolism presented in the novel could be considered as a way for Stoker to relieve the guilt of his inability to help a dear friend, Oscar Wilde. Many hidden incidents of rebellion were presented in this novel. It is with the help of a critical mindset that one may discern many instances of rebellion in characters in the novel and in the author as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on Narrative Therapy Abstract This paper will look at the logic of narrative therapy by focusing on 5 major points. This paper will begin by discussing how the narrative approach defines and perceives problems. It will address how narrative therapy views the nature of the relationship between the client and the professional. This paper will look at how problems are solved using the narrative approach. It will also focus on three main techniques used in narrative therapy, which will include externalization, deconstruction and re authoring. This paper will also include a short narrative critique of the medical model. The Logic of Narrative Therapy Narrative therapy is considered postmodern due to the fact that it uses a story telling approach to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows the client to begin to see where the discourse emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to the story and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the therapist begins to ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the problem (Kelley, 1996). In deconstruction the therapist searches for answers as to who all is involved with the problem, what past events lead up to the problem development, how the problem changed over time, how the client has been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is affecting the client s life (Kelley, 1996). Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The therapist and the client begin working together to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having on the client s life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important because it lays the foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade, Crocket Epston, 1997). According to Monk, Winslade, Crocket Epston (1997) typically when the effect of the problem is discussed with the client they begin to feel as if their story has been heard. They ... Identity In Good Country People Identity in Good Country People Characterization is the biggest component that helps build on the themes of identity in the short story Good Country People written by Flannery O connor. The theme itself is dependent where as the characters are independent of each other. The characters behaviors build within each other. Firstly, the main character in this short story is thirty two year old Joy who is now known as Hulga. She is just like Hulga in the sense that she believes she is superior to everyone else and thinks she can distinguish between these two classes which are the hard working people or the untrustworthy people. Mrs. Hopewell has never really let Hulga grow up and still treats her as if she was still a ten year old because she does think philosophy would open many doors for her daughter and has never accepted her the way she is. Hulga has all the education and degrees to start her own life but her mother is the cause of this pause in her life. In comparison to, Mrs. Freeman who is the complete opposite of Mrs. Hopewell whom she has worked for, for four years. • 5. The Pros And Cons Of Knoxville Pedestrian Accidents Knoxville Pedestrian Accidents Attorney When most people think about traffic accidents, they think about collisions between motor vehicles. However, it is estimated that a pedestrian dies every two hours in the United States in a crash related accident. During 2013, 150,000 pedestrians were treated for injuries resulting from traffic crashes and 4,735 pedestrians lost their lives in traffic accidents. In fact, pedestrians are about one and half times more likely to be killed in a traffic accident compared to the occupants of passenger vehicles. Why Are Pedestrians More Susceptible To Traumatic Injuries In A Crash? Pedestrians are at a higher risk of death and serious injury in a traffic accident for the same reason motorcyclists and bicyclists are at an increased risk lack of protection. Occupants of a passenger vehicle are protected by the vehicle in a collision. The vehicle takes the majority of the impact; however, a pedestrian receives the full impact of a collision. There is nothing to protect the pedestrian from the force of the impact; therefore, the injuries in a pedestrian accident tend to be deadly or catastrophic. Common injuries in pedestrian accidents include brain injuries, spinal injuries, paralysis, internal bleeding, broken bones, and fractures. • 6. Dream Of The Rood Sacrifice Many times, when an individual discusses Christ s sacrifice, they word it as defeating sin, as in winning a battle. In the poem Dream of the Rood, the author explains the sacrifice through the point of view of the cross while also including diction related closely to battle or war. One of these instances is, I beheld Glory s trunk / garnished with grandeur (14 15). However, further on the author then discusses how signs of ancient strife:/ beneath that gold (18 19), had begun to show. During battles/war, soldiers fight relentlessly in order to return to their home triumphantly. The thickness (t) and width (w) of the rectangular glass sample is measured. The first glass slide is placed in the Instron 3 point bending apparatus with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This tension is produced by the bending moment of the load. For this reason the plates were placed with scratches facing downwards so that the procedure could test the effect of flaw size on fracture stress. Otherwise the experiment would have probably shown little difference between scratched and unscratched samples. The scratched samples also showed consistent directions in that they were nearly always perpendicular, this was due to linkage of cracks. Whereas for unscratched glass, the crack will propagate according to the local shape and direction of the defect. The three point bending test is used for brittle materials only for two reasons. The first is because brittle materials cannot be tested with conventional uniaxial tension tests because of early failure at the grips. The second reason is that LEFM can only be applied in bending tests to brittle materials because yielding occurs around the same point as failure, so failure stresses can be used to calculate normal tensions in the beam using Пѓ = Mc/I. That is the stress versus strain diagrams remain nearly linear up until failure. Fracture toughness is the ability of a material to withstand brittle fracture in the presence of a crack or flaw. The equation as mentioned earlier is derived from linear elastic fracture mechanics and stipulates that crack length is inversely proportional to fracture stress. The ... Essay about Innocent Man by John Grisham The innocent man is the story of Ron Williamson who was unjustly convicted of murder and spent twelve years on death row before being exonerated by DNA evidence. Ron Williamson was born in Ada, a small town in Oklahoma. His future looked bright when he was young and he was an exceptional athlete who was drafted by the Oakland Athletics. After an unsuccessful career in the minors Ron Williamson became a drug addict and an alcoholic whose life steadily got worse. He could not keep any job and he began spending most of his time in bars, and living with various friends. The book starts of with a very brief biography of the victim, Debbie Carter and takes us to the scene of her murder describing the manner of her brutal rape and death. Following this first chapter the book follows the attempts of the Ada police department as they try to solve the murder of Debbie Carter, and also the abduction of Denice Haraway a few years later. From Grisham?s perspective it seems that the prosecution team was only concerned about pinning the murder on someone and they really didn?t care who it was. Interrogators literally forced Williamson to make his dream confession and this was the basis for the entire prosecution even though the defendant was obviously mentally incompetent The prosecution team used other unreliable sources of evidence, mainly hair samples, and ?jailhouse snitches? who received reduced sentences as a reward of testifying against the defendant. Eventually they manipulated an inexperienced jury into believing their insignificant evidence and Ron Williamson was sentenced to death. His friend Dennis Fritz was sentenced to life in prison, mainly for being the only friend Ron had when the murder occurred. Tommy Ward and Karl Fontenot went through a similar process. Even though there is little evidence to say they did not murder Denice Haraway they have never received ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recommendation of the book A Wrinkle in Time is a thought provoking novel that keeps readers alert until the very end. L Engle starts the story off with a friendly and welcoming mood by slowly informing the reader about the characters, the setting, and the problem. Then, she progresses through the plot at a thrilling pace, presenting multiple challenges to the characters. L Engle tells the story in a clear and concise way so that readers can understand exactly what is going on in the story. Also, I feel that A Wrinkle in Time was an allegory that had a strong and recurring theme true love can conquer evil. Students in high school can read this novel to search for its figurative meaning while younger students can treat this novel as an exciting fantasy. Overall, this novel is approachable to a wide variety of audiences, and I would highly recommend A Wrinkle in Time. 3. There are explanations behind the ranking of Ohio for this issue. The first explanation is due to the inner city centers and country counties, which included a big immigrant population. The second explanation is due to five main highways located throughout Ohio. These highways make it convenient for human traffickers (Ohio State Bar Association, 2014). The first campaign is called Second Chance, and it is located in Toledo, Ohio. Second Chance s mission statement is To offer supportive services to women and youth affected by or at risk for involvement in sex trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation, as they reclaim lives of choice. To raise community awareness about the issues of sex trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of childrenand to work diligently to end the exploitation and victimization of women and youth. To advocate with women and youth throughout the country to secure and provide resources for treatment and services for victims of sex trafficking and exploitation (Second ... Essay about Accounting Software Installation Project The Accounting Software Installation Project (from Larson, E.E., and Gray, C.F., 2011 Project Management the managerial process, fifth edition p441) Sitting in her office, Karin Chung is reviewing the past four months of the large corporate accounting software installation project she has been managing. Everything seemed so well planned before the project started. Each company division had a task force that provided input into the proposed installation along with potential problems. All the different divisions had been trained and briefed on exactly how their division would interface and use the forthcoming accounting software. All six contractors, which included one of the Big Five consulting companies, assisted in developing the work... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What happened to the positive attitude fostered at the team building workshop? One contractor wrote a formal letter complaining that another contractor was sitting on a coding decision that was delaying their work. The letter went on: We cannot be held responsible or liable for delays caused by others. The project was already two months behind, so problems were becoming very real and serious. Karin finally decided to call a meeting of all parties to the project and partnering agreement. She began by asking for problems people were encountering while working on the project. Although participants were reluctant to be first for fear of being perceived as a complainer, it was not long before accusations and tempers flared out of control. It was always some group complaining about another group. Several participants complained that others were sitting on decisions that resulted in their work being held up. To A Mouse And Louse Summary Silly Little Critter (Three Messages From Mouse and Louse) When Robert Burns wrote To a Mouse as well as To a Louse, he had to have been thinking about it pretty hard, because the messages of each text connect to one another in many ways. In both of these texts, he used little critters that might gross some people out. He didn t really use a creature that very many people found cute in any way. It was a very creative way to go about, because he decided he would use a animal/insect that people don t really pay too much attention to. There was a very genius reason to why he decided to use pests as the main topic of his texts, and that s because it made all of the messages more clear to the reader. Robert Burns was a really known author, and many people thought very highly of him. According to Brooke A. Stopford, His greatest power, that which made him... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a very true message in many ways. The main reason why this is most likely the best message in the texts, is because Burns talked about how they don t have to live their life struggling because of worrying. Something that humans do a lot of the time is stress over things that might be big, but might also not be as important as we act like it is. In the text To a Mouse, Burns said, Still thou art blest, compared wi me! The present only toucheth thee. What was being said in this sentence is that even though the mouse s house got completely destroyed, instead of sitting there and worrying about it, he just started building a new one. He doesn t know about the past, nor the future. All that animals, as well as insects know about is the present, which gives them a huge advantage over us. Same thing goes for the louse in To a Louse. • 18. Imaging Of Musculoskeletal Disorders And The Early 1900 s... Imaging of musculoskeletal disorders began in the early 1900 s with the invention and utilization of radiography and fluoroscopic equipment (McKinnis, 2014). Evolutions in imaging now allow for clearer digital recorded images of fluoroscopy, radiographs, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (McKinnis, 2014). From the beginning, imaging has not been an isolated or sole diagnostic tool. The clinician s expertise in the evaluation process, the comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the patient, documented and reported patient history, associated signs and symptoms, and the additional medical test results along with red flags must be taken into account when considering referral for imaging (Dutton, 2012; McKinnis, 2014). There are several clinical prediction rules and guidelines, which have been created to assist health care providers in managing the utilization and prevention of inappropriate imaging (Dutton, 2012; Gan, Harkey, Hemingway, Hughes, Duszak, 2016; Gidwani et al., 2016; McKinnis, 2014). Based on the aforementioned information, not all spinal patients will require or should receive spinal imaging. MRIs and other forms of imaging can produce false negatives, false positives, and reader interpretation and assessment errors, therefore the results of a MRI or any other form of imaging should not be the sole reason for any diagnosis or intervention (Dutton, 2012; Fu et al., 2016; Gan, Harkey, Hemingway, Hughes, Duszak, 2016; Gidwani et ... Examples Of Fear In Ww2 Fear of Three Throughout World War II Taylin Boettcher Fear: fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. There will be a point in every person s life when that person will experience it, but could you even imagine the reality of barely surviving in a setting where bombs and missiles fly all day and night? Many people underestimate the emotions and circumstances of the people in the time of the wars. The Diary of Anne Frank, Camp Harmony, and Unbroken are proof of this universal feeling during World War II. The theme that I will be focusing on is: Fear is not uncommon and it affects many, whether it is their choice or not. Anne Frank was an ordinary Jewish girl living in Holland and going to school with her friends. But one day, Anne and her family are forced to go into hiding from the Nazi s. They lived in fear that their house would either be bombed or that they would be found and taken to a concentration camp. Most of the entries that Anne Frank kept in her diary indicated she was either in distress or fright. In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. Having a straight needle on an individual s moral compass is always one of the best things that they can have. It teaches them right from wrong, and tells them when they have to interfere and do the right thing. This summer, the theme of this project was to do the right thing , and I was required to read two books. I chose to read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon, as well as Going Bovine by Libba Bray. Both books immediately grabbed me by the hand and took me into their worlds, along with learning the important lessons behind both Christopher and Cameron s stories. The Illusion Of Universal Morality The Illusion of Universal Morality Darian Scherbluk OOOOOOO SCS 1150 Professor Stuart Chambers November 17th, 2015. 1 Throughout the chapter Moral Disagreement in his work Cosmopolitanism, Kwame Anthony Appiah analyzes the issues of morality. Appiah essentially presents his argument in a manner which questions the concept of what is ethically right and wrong. Furthermore, he believes that societies and individuals will inevitably experience moral disagreements. From the author s perspective, If we are to encourage...moral conversations between people across societies, we must expect such disagreements. 1 As demonstrated in the reading, Appiah suggests that on a global scale, unique societies fail to share the same evaluative language when discussing moral issues. However, even when different communities share similar terms, the subjective nature of vocabulary allows for contrasting interpretations. Finally, Appiah illustrates that various cultural groups place different weights on the same values. The vocabulary used in numerous parts of the world is quite diverse and multifaceted. Kwame Anthony Appiaheffectively distinguishes the terms thin and thick as words applied to describe moral disagreement within the text. The author admits that individuals from differing societies share thin words, yet the lack of depth from this vocabulary results in an insignificant description of morality. Appiah elaborates on this concept, explaining that [s]ome terms good, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the project evolves, additional information is discovered and further estimates are produced. This is an extremely important process and we cannot emphasize enough the need for this re‐estimation or re‐budgeting process at each phase of the project. In any case, for the purpose of this article, we will call the revised budget the actual budget. Another standard activity is to provide management with an expected cash flow. From a financial perspective this is an important activity, but it also can be used as your cost expectation. As the project progresses, you monitor the actual spending which becomes your actual cost. This cost divided by your actual budget is the % spent, which can be compared to the expectation to provide an excellent guide to where you stand cost‐wise. However, with respect to progress, cost comparison alone is limited. A trend of the cost spending is a useful tool. Actual cost monitoring has several constraints. The major limitation is the availability of the data in real time. Indeed, most project accounting systems have major delays, usually due to the billing/payment system. It might take more than a month before an invoice gets into the accounting system. The best way to resolve this problem is to use a parallel real‐time approximated accounting system. Invoices are accounted for as spent as soon as the work has been performed. Another inadequacy with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
