Architecture Aspects And Architecture Of The Bauhaus In...
The Bauhaus was set up in 1919 in Weimar by Walter Gropius. In 1925, the Bauhaus moved from
Weimar to Dessau, where a new building is designed by Gropius. In this essay, I am going to discuss
about the opinions made by many on the approach used and intention in rebuilding the Bauhaus in
Dessau. The architectural aspects and interior space planning of the Bauhaus have become the
identifications of the modernist architecture as well as legend in the history of design and design
education.
What unique about the Bauhaus is the fact that its ideologies epitomize changing concepts concerning
the nature and purpose of design in the early twentieth century. The art inherited, reinterpreted and
then rejected the craft ideals of the nineteenth century ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is mentioned that (BAUHAUS, eds. Jeannine Fiedler, Peter Feierabend, pg.88), given the numerous
extant illustrations of modern architecture, by the fact that, contrary to their captions and picture tiles,
which continually refer to man and the conditions of his life, people are very rarely seen in the
photographs. This absence of people in the buildings and individual rooms illustrated, accords
precisely with the program of architectural modernism, in which laws are more often to be found
showing themselves than living beings and in which the name of the creators tend to be more
important than the men and women who occupied the building and had to live in them day in and day
out. Bauhaus architecture is supposed to convey authoritative experiences, but were impervious to any
rational argument or other objections. Hence, these rooms and houses existed not for actual people but
rather for ideal beings, which was the reason why the designers had to be regarded somewhat as
geniuses of social awareness. Incidentally this also marks the limits of what was at the time, and in
part still is today, the customary scope of functionalist or even ergonomic

First Sergeant Navarra Research Paper
A teacher is a person who inspires and encourages us to strive for greatness, live to our fullest
potential and see the best in ourselves. They are strong willed individuals who we admire and aspire to
become. We learn from them. We learn through their commitment, integrity, and perseverance. A
teacher can influence many important aspects of a student s life. They help shape a student s
personality, morality and provide them with the tools necessary to take on their future endeavors. A
good teacher can teach you something that you will remember for a day, but a great teacher will teach
you something that you will remember for the rest of your life. I was fortunate enough to find all of
these qualities in my Army JROTC instructor, First Sergeant Navarra. ... Show more content on

One of the most important is respect. Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or
something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. First Sergeant shows respect by
appreciating the best in other people. It is much more than just talking kindly and listening to
someone. It is the process of taking into consideration someone s emotions, feelings and needs.
focuses on their ideas, thoughts, and preferences. First Sergeant takes his time to get to know each
student as an individual by valuing their time and caring about what they have to say. First Sergeant is
also trustworthy. I can always go to him to seek advice, or just to have a friend to talk to. Knowing
that there is someone there who will listen to you, makes all the difference in the world. Whether it s a
relationship problem, teenage drama, a bad grade, or something that you feel that your family just

The Role Of Dea Is A Linear Programming Methodology...
The related research uses a variety of variables. Based on the nature of DEA, the number of variables
in the model affects the results. Given imperfect data, researchers often must make tradeoffs in
selecting input and output variables. In this research, in order to verify the stability of the DEA model,
a stability test is conducted by changing the number of inputs and outputs. To get a fuller picture, four
models are developed for this test. Spearman correlation coefficients are calculated to assess the
impact of the variation.
DEA is a linear programming methodology measuring the relative performance and efficiency of
multiple DMUs when the production process is composed of a difficult structure of multiple inputs
and outputs [38]. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Details of the linear form of a CRS model may be found in Chapter 2 of Cooper [39]. The dual of the
linear model reduces the number of constraints and makes the linear problem easier to solve. It is
given below [39, 40]: where is the measure of the efficiency of DMUo, the DMU in the set of DMUs
rated relative to the others; and is the dual weight assigned to DMUs. Constant returns to scale are
assumed in the above model. When the constraint is added, we have a variable return to scale model
[6].
The DEA estimates of is an indicator of efficiency. It measures the distance between the observed
input/output combination and the efficiency frontier. The Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) is
based on ideas similar to the DEA, but MPI allows comparisons between two periods. Assume the
technology at is implied in a set , where all feasible are included, i.e., .The output distance function,

technology at time . Following Färe et al. [41] and Boisso et al. [42], MPI is defined as:
Rearranging the terms in formula (4), following Färe et al. [41], we obtain the subsequent formula:
The MPI is thus decomposed into two elements, efficiency change , and technological change . The
distance functions in the MPI can be calculated by linear programming methods similar to those used
in the DEA. DEA constructs a production

Evolution Vs. Fossil Records
Evolution has been a widely known discussion that many people have had over the past century, the
theory of evolution has been welcomed by many scientists yet by some religious people it has been a
taboo topic. The thought or the motion to entertain that humans evolved from primates is what some
people would shudder and state that it goes against all their religious beliefs. However, scientist have
pushed on the fact that evolution is not just a hypothetical or an outlandish theory but a theory that has
multiple hard evidence to back it and that to ignore is ignorance and just plain stupidity. Four types of
evidence of evolution are fossil records, genetic changes, the geographic distribution of species, and
the similarities in embryos of species. One of the evidences of evolution is fossil records, with fossil
records being the remains of plants and animals that scientist have found in sedimentary rocks. Fossil
records have given us irrefutable evidence of evolution in the past, over a course of a long period of
time, proving there is significant variation amongst living things. Evolution is a continuum; all the
minor changes over a period of time add up to a major change. On the continuum, fossils are the
points that displaying what the organism had become after evolving at that stage in time.
Although fossil records are substantial evidence for evolution there are gaps in the fossil records due
to the fact of incompletion of the collecting data. As evolution is

TEmmi Hodess GSWS 200 Midterm Bodies as Sources of Knowledge While bodies have been
scrutinized throughout history at a biological level, feminist and queer theorists look at the body as a
site for sociopolitical thought. Bodies operate as devices through which people can experience the
world. Each body is uniquely located in a specific space and time. Feminist and queer writers view the
embodied self rooted within a specific location and environment. Feminist and queer studies informed
by critical race and postcolonial theory and cultural analysis explore the limits of subjectivity in a
global climate that excludes certain bodies, particularly those that do not and/or cannot fit within a
white, middle class, cisgender, heteronormative, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Rich started her essay by focusing on lines of exclusion in history, Haraway turns to science.
Right away, Haraway points to problems with the current and popular definition of objectivity,
specifically that objectivity only privileges the rich, white, male, Western demographics. In tying
objectivity to bodies, Haraway notes that objectivity is a privilege to unmarked bodies dominant
members in society. Knowledge from the point of view of the unmarked is truly fantastic, distorted,
and irrational (Haraway 587). As Haraway argues, no one person/group can be truly objective. No
body can not have an all knowing and all seeing view of the world. That would be a power or trick
only available to gods. An individual does not have the ability or capacity to see every side of an issue.
Echoing Rich, Haraway writes, Feminist objectivity is about limited location and situated knowledge,
not about transcendence and splitting of subject and object. It allows us to become answerable for
what we learn how to see (583). Haraway recognizes that marked bodies like womxn, or other racial,
ethnic, or religious groups, have viewpoints that are not considered absolute and are consequently
subjective and flawed. Haraway s solution for situated knowledges/partial perspectives recaptures
objectivity in a methodological approach that re inscripts marked bodies into dialogue and focuses on
situatedness and

Dante s Inferno Comparative Essay
The geographical influences also bring various differences between them. In Europe, the christianity

##2 2 4 Medium Form (Language Based Literature(poem), Visual Based Image)
Inferno is a poem (literature) that suggests the descriptions via language. However, propaganda by
North Korea is a visual artwork that depicts via images. This difference brings a huge difference in
perceiving information from the artwork. However, considering that the Inferno had an extensive use
of all senses in descriptions, Inferno can be considered as the part of showing instead of telling.
According to the Introduction to the Inferno, due to his meticulous depictions of the senses and
emotions, Archibald T. MacAllister described that the Inferno is really a three dimensional art .

The fear brought from Inferno inherits itself within the individual and religion. The fear of hell is
solely dependent upon oneself or religion. For instance, throughout the Inferno, Dante is trying to
understand what he had done in his life. He tries to reach the salvation as he takes a look at the hell.
The fear of death and beyond death is solely dependent to the person who committed the sins. The
religion clearly explains the procedure by describing the eternal suffering in the blazes. Therefore, if
the person tries hard enough to overcome the fear of death, it is possible to overcome the fear of the
margin, Unlike the fear of hell which was originally within the individual and religion, the fear
brought from the propaganda is based on the other individual and politics. The system does not allow
people to overcome the fear from the propaganda. Instead, people reinforce the fear in order to utilize
the negative emotion to make people obedient. Therefore, the fear is mostly dependent on the other

George Orwell Politics And The English Language Analysis
In Politics and the English language, George Orwell portrays various tricks by which the work of
prose construction is habitually dodged. (Orwell 583). Orwell s argument is the English language is
being deformed by modern writers thus mocking the use of the language. Orwell relates this topic to
political and economic issues to show how the use of English is critical with these aspects. He refers
to this topic as a reversible process (Orwell 581) if writers follow his six rules; without them the
writing contains staleness of imagery and lack of precision. (Orwell 582). Orwell names these tricks:
dying metaphors, operators or verbal false limbs, pretentious diction, and meaningless words. In
Shooting an Elephant, Orwell uses these tricks to provide rhetorical motives. Orwell mentions He
wears a mask, and his face grows to fit it (Orwell 853) to refer to himself when he was a police man in

Orwell states dying metaphors are in effect reverted to being an ordinary word and can generally be
used without loss of vividness. (Orwell 583). The comparison between a man wearing a mask and the

negation kills the visual image for the reader by making it unclear if the mask actually fits Orwell s
face. If the reader cannot picture the comparison of a metaphor, it fails to have meaning which is

Contribution Of Indian Nationalism
The Indian independence movement was simply a response to British colonialism and oppression of
the Indian subcontinent inhabitants. Indian nationalism was the most crucial factor of Indian
independence, because it resulted in the swadeshi movement and national heros that joined the
different people of India. Shivaji preceded Mohandas Gandhi, but both were among the first national
heros. Indian national heroes are closely connected to Indian nationalism, but it is critically important
to first understand Indian Nationalism.
Indian nationalism was illustrated by people of Indian independence movement only in an effort to
connect the various races of India. Nationalism can be described as the loyalty and devotion to one
nation. Nationalists tend to exalt a nation, which is a group of people that care commonalities such as
language, religion, traditions, customs, and habits. Nationalism, as exhibited by Indians, could lead to
the desire for national furtherance of a nation or the striving for political independence. Indian
Nationalism was propagated by philosophical anarchists, especially Mohandas Gandhi and Bhagat
Singh. Indian Nationalists were fiercely occupied with creating their own idiosyncratic form of
nationalism. Many Indian nationalists argued for nationalism on the verge of anarchism like Tagore.
Tagore believed that european nationalism was a by product of capitalism , and gave rise to such evils
as colonialism (Tagore 6). Furthermore, Tagore believed that

Mary s Fall From Innocence Does war really change a person? A common underlying assumption,
known throughout the world, is that war transforms a person; often it is both mentally and physically.
Soldiers often transform from every day men to people who have to kill to survive. Killing someone
would most likely change anyone. Now let s take a young, bright eyed women straight out of

life or possibly even imagined. In Tim O Brien s short story Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong the

In the beginning she is just this young innocent girl who is almost angelesk. It s implied that she s a
virgin which gives her a sort of naive sexual appeal, a women who s definitely unsure of who she is.
She quickly comes to a realisation that she feels more alive here in Vietnam than she did in Cleveland
Heights and refuses to go home. You can tell through her character explanation that O brien gives that
she has ultimately changed as a character. Her appearance has changed yet she doesn t lose all of her
sexual appeal. In fact she becomes more desirable through this revelation. The idea of the loss of
innocence is huge in this short story. It s shows that these men go to war as boys and return from war
as killers. Rat at one point compares girls like Mary Anne as clean (25), in the beginning of this story
she was like most girls you d imagine, yet by the end she has transformed into something dirty and
unworldly. She is no longer clean or innocent she has seen and experienced things most people never
will. Rat explains that he loved her infact they all did (25), they loved the idea of this independent,
free spirited, wild women that she had become. They were drawn to her lack of innocence and
mystery. This lack of innocence is the most substantial change in Mary Anne s

Enduring the burden of responsibility can lead people to positive outcomes. This theme is
demonstrated by Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh in The Lord Of The Rings: The
Fellowship Of The Ring through the responsibility of companionship that is carried by Samwise
Gamgee. He is caught eavesdropping on Frodo and Gandalf, when he is caught Gandalf tells him to
accompany Frodo on his journey. This Responsibility that is placed upon him is initially seen by him,
as a chance to go on an adventure but he must take care of Frodo, this burden leads to many positive
outcomes for Sam as he uses the responsibility placed upon him as an opportunity to grow. Due to this

The Benefits Of Kundalini Yoga
Introduction
Kundalini Yoga is an indispensable aspect of the Aquarian Teacher program in the sense that it is a
science as well as a technology that assists candidates to develop comprehensively in their endeavors
to become Kundalini Yoga instructors. Taught principally by Yogi Bhajan, the science focuses
exhaustively on yoga traditions that harness the nervous and psychological as well as the physical
energy of the entire human anatomy. This is because Kundalini Yoga combines breathing practices,
chant, and meditation, together with physical exercises. The results of a research conducted by
Arambula, Peper, Kawakami, and Gibney (2001) affirm this as they reveal that a considerable
correlation exists between yogic meditation practices and human physiology. In other words,
Kundalini Yoga is a communicational science that incorporates all yoga limbs into a remarkable
practice of delight and excellence at the highest level of self consciousness. The accounts above only

Stop The Self Sabotage Of Parental Guilt: You re Probably Doing Better Than You Think!
A little guilt can sometimes be a good thing, driving people to stay honest, do better and keep on the
right path; however, a parent s guilt is oft exaggerated by their fierce drive to want nothing but the best
for and from their children. Here are five ways in which you might be feeling guilty as a parent and
why you are probably wrong about most of them:
1. You Can t Buy Your Child Everything They Want

Being a one person operation means you carry an extra heavy load as a parent, often feeling like you
re only capable of getting half the job done. Most especially, though, if the other parent is out of the
picture because they have serious problems that could negatively impact your household, you re doing
the right thing. It s also very difficult for a single parent to successfully navigate the dating scene, due
to lack of time, fear of meeting a psycho or introducing your kids to a new person, then having to say
goodby because it didn t work out.
Rather than feel guilty about your solo position, give yourself a well earned pat on the back for the job
you re doing and know that your kids will grow up as outstanding people, just the same.

There are main ways of diagnosing this disease physically; early onset and later onset. In early onset,
doctors look for hypotonia poor fetal movement, respiratory insufficiency; delayed motor milestones,
scoliosis, congenital hip dislocation, high arched palate, foot deformities and joint contractures, such
as spondylocostal dysostosis. For later onset, which is more rare, they look for mild symmetric
myopathy, mildly affected facial muscles and occasional involvement of the extraocular muscles,
(Quinlivan 3). With the early onset diagnosis, physical therapy would benefit from the patients
experiencing hypotonia, scoliosis and joint contractures. Respiratory support, breathing exercises and
chest physiotherapy would be used for those with breathing problems caused from Malignant
Hyperthermia. Iannaccone also recommends consultations with a nutritionist to make sure patients are

How Did The Abbasid Contribute To The Rise Of Islamic Economy
From the third to the tenth century, the Muslim world had an unchallenged economic supremacy over
the Occident and Orient. To this empire, no enemy posed a serious threat and, therefore, this economy
became the most prosperous of its time. Combined with the spread of Islam across the world,
previously sleeping agricultural and rural sectors suddenly flourished due to the establishment of law
and order among Islamic territories. When this is paired with a geographically vast market that
operated with no fear of caravans being assaulted en route, this motivated all of the Islamic faith to do
their best for their own advancement and the benefit of their society. (Source)
In addition, paper had a major impact on the Islamic economy. The discovery of the Chinese
papermaking process was faster and easier than preparing parchment or papyrus. As a result, the use
of paper spread like wildfire throughout the empire; eventually, shops began selling paper and books.
In addition, business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Abbasid Caliphate ruled during the Golden Age of Islam (750 1258CE), this made the Abbasid
one of the most influential and longest reigning Islamic dynasties. During the Abbasid ruled Islam s
early history, it was the largest empire in the world and had contact with distant neighbors such as the
Chinese and Indians to the east and the Byzantine Empire in the west allowing ideas to be
amalgamated from each culture.
In short, the origins of the Abbasid Dynasty sate back to their overthrowing of the Umayyad Dynasty
(based in Damascus, Syria). The Umayyads had grown gradually more disliked by those it ruled
because they favored Syrian Arabs over other Muslims and treated mawali, or those who had recently
converted, as lower class

Willy Loman Flashbacks
According to Miller just because Willy is a common man doesn t mean his falls are any less than a
king. Willy Loman, a formally successful salesmen, first shows signs of a tragic hero when he fears he
is being torn away from the image he wants to see himself in this world, which is a being successful.
He realizes this when he tries to show his son Biff early on the success is about popularity, but
ultimately he finds he cannot change his son. He no longer has popularity and Biff refuses to let his
father use him, so that he can have his popularity back. He has flashbacks of when he was living a
much greater life making money, and fears since he no longer can and now his son can t, that he has
no dignity left. The use of flashbacks showing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is constantly lying to himself, his family, and his boss about his work because he fears that if
admits he hasn t made as much money as he said, then he will be a failure and have no place in life.
He is afraid that if he admits his unsuccessfulness, then all his dreams and desires will be diminished.
In the face of all this Willy tries to fight for his dignity by trying to make his son Biff follow in his
footsteps. Without his son becoming successful, Willy lost everything he had know and he felt lost in
society. He is unable to achieve the self knowledge of the tragic hero. He fails to realize that he failed
as a father and a husband. He can t grasp his true reality because he is too caught up in the illusion of
his life that his mind made up. His unwillingness to understand the depths of his failures and that his
American Dream is no longer alive leads to his torturous day. His real tragedy is where he completely
evaluates himself and justifies his suicide because it gave him sense of personal dignity by leaving an
inheritance that will allow Biff to fulfill the American Dream. Although Willy still never grasped that
his view of the American Dream, which is to be good looking and having a good personality will get
people far in life, changed as he got older, he still wishes his sons success and happy lives, even
though he doesn t understand that it

THE MARKETING OF FOODS AND NON ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES TO CHILDREN

Introduction
Even though marketing has the ability to influence people of all ages, children seem to be the most
vulnerable ones. The 2003 Hastings report concluded, on the evidence up to that date, that children in
the UK are exposed to extensive food advertising, and that the diet advertised is considerably less
healthy than the diet healthcare experts would recommend (Halford and Boyland, 2013, p, 182). The
case is not much different in other countries also. Reports from North America (Gantz, et al. 2007;
Institute of Medicine, 2005) clearly indicated the increased vulnerability of children towards
advertising and marketing activities of foods and non alcoholic beverage manufacturers. The majority
of the children do not have the maturity to segregate between the good and evil. They are unaware of
the traps made by the product manufacturers and service providers. Influenced by the attractive
advertisements and the sales promotion activities by the foods and non alcoholic beverage
manufacturers, children often compel their parents to purchase these things for them. Parents, on the
other hand, are ready to satisfy the needs of their children since many of the parents think that
fulfilling the demands of their children might help them to strengthen their relationships with their
children. It should be noted that the parent child relationship in the

CIMA is having 218000 members and students in 177 countries (CIMA, 2014).
In percentage data, ACCA is nearly double CIMA about worldwide members as ACCA is holding
40% worldwide members while CIMA has only 23% (ACCA Brochure, 2014). However, if the degree
of growth of total students and members recently is taken in to consideration, CIMA has the largest
growth in POB members including ACCA (CIMA, 2014).
Firstly, candidates of both ACCA and CIMA have to get through strict examination systems before
being recognized by these two institutes qualifications.
ACCA has 400 exam centres around the world and their exams are taken place twice annually in June
and December (ACCA Global, 2014). There are two levels in ACCA assessing scheme and they are
fundamental level and professional level (ACCA brochure, 2014). Applicants have to complete all
three exams of knowledge and six exams of skills in fundamental level in order to move into
professional level which includes three exams of essential and two in four optional exams (ACCA,
2014a).
CIMA examination system is completely different from ACCA. CIMA Global (2014a) has showed
that their new syllabus for 2015 would have covered several new topics such as sustainability,
integrated reporting and so on for three levels of the process which are operational level, management
level and strategic level.

Chaucer s Treatment Of Women In The Canterbury Tales
In the 14th century, women were not given much respect, nor nearly as valued as men were. The
women were the keepers of the house, because the men portrayed women to be weak and cannot do
anything except clean and cook. The men most likely had more than one wife, so the men would treat
the women different depending on what she gave him. Most likely at the age of 15, women got
married and had children. The women were sent to tend needs for their children and do house work,
while their husbands would do the labor and pay taxes for the family. The women had been looked
down upon and seen to be not worth anything to their husbands. The husbands took advantage of their
wives and showed no love or appreciation to them. Women are viewed as objects ... Show more

Differences Between Feminist Theology And Christian Theology
If one were to ask ten modern day theologians to define the word theology, it is likely that they would
hear ten different answers. Even within the various types of theology, for example, Christian theology,
there are a wide spectrum of attitudes and beliefs. Even more so, if one were to compare evangelical
theology with feminist theology, the differences would add up quickly. Two modern day theologians,
Stanley Grenz and Catherine Keller, well known in their respective fields, have approached their
theology from different backgrounds. The most obvious is the difference in gender. However, their
theological methodologies, the definition, and nature of their theological goals and their approach to
being biblically faithful are vastly different. By careful examination, these two theologians and their
specific ideologies in relating to evangelical theology and feminist theology will influence how a
person approaches their own theology.
Considered a prolific theologian, Stanley Grenz was a leader among evangelical theologians (Warner,
2005, p. 42). Author of a multitude of books on diverse subject matters including eschatology, ethics,
Trinity, and homosexuality, Grenz initially defended his Baptist customs (Warner, 2005). However,
considered as his greatest contribution, was his ability to bridge the evangelicals from their own world
of thought to engage the larger scholarly world (Warner, 2005, p. 43). He was the first to consider
postmodern thought, recognizing

Why Did Japan Attack Australia
Intro Not long before 10:00am, on February 19, 1942 the Japanese forces commenced air raids on
Darwin. Over 260 enemy planes attacked Australian and US shipping, the harbour of the town,
military and civil aerodromes and the local hospital. There were two waves of attacks which were part
of Japan s efforts to harm Australia s confidence, hold back the use of Darwin s military base, and at
last secure neighbouring Timor. At least 243 people were killed in the attack and up to 400 people
were injured. Eight ships in the harbour were sunk and twenty military aircraft were destroyed. Over a
space of almost two years the air attacks continued and about half of Darwin s population ended up
moving south. Why did Japan bomb Australia? Japan invaded ... Show more content on

During World War Two, the Japanese flew 64 raids on Darwin and 33 raids on further targets in
Northern Australia. On 19 February 1942, with a harbour full of Allied ships, Darwin was shot against
by 188 Japanese planes. Since Pearl Harbour on 7 December 1941 this was the largest Japanese attack.
In Darwin there were 27 Allied ships in the harbour and around 30 aircraft at the Darwin Civil and
RAAF airfields. The first Japanese attack on Darwin occurred on the 19th of February 1942. This first
attack (and the one that occurs the next day) was planned and controlled by Mitsuo Fuchida, who is
the Japanese commander also responsible the Pearl Harbour attack. The Japanese attacked with around
188 planes that were launched from Japanese land bases and aircraft carriers in the Timor Sea. The
Japanese fighters attacked land targets and shipping, dive bombers attacked the ships in the harbour,
the military and civilian aerodromes and the hospital. Fighter planes accompanied the dive bombers
for extra protection from Australian and allied planes. Eight Australian ships were sunk and nearly all
others were ruined by bombs or machine gunfire. Australia s only air defences were ten fighter planes
that encountered the Japanese planes. Only one Australia fighter survived the first attack, while the
Japanese only suffered one or two losses. An hour after the first attack ended, the second attack began.
For about 25 minutes heavy bombers attacked the Royal Australian Air Force Base at Parap. A
minimum of 243 Australians and allies were killed in the two raids and around 400 were wounded.
Twenty military aircraft were destroyed, most civil and military facilities in Darwin were destroyed
and eight ships at anchor in the harbour were sunk. (Australian Government ,

Marginal Analysis
In order for any business to be successful they would need to know how to make the most profit for
the goods they are producing and selling. In this paper I am going to explain some of the key terms
that companies need to keep in mind when operating their business. First, we will start with marginal
revenue, which is defined simply as the extra revenue that is made for each additional unit of a
product that is sold. This is directly related to marginal cost, which is what it costs the company to
make that additional unit of product. Next there is total cost and total revenue. Total cost is what the
company spends to produce a certain quantity of its product. This includes the cost of all the materials,
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As you can see by the chart if the company were to produce an additional unit after 8 it would mean
the marginal cost would be more than the marginal revenue causing the company to be losing money.
Looking at it from total revenue to total cost point of the view; the profit from 8 widgets is $540 but if
you produce one more is drops to $520, so again this shows where the company has hit their profit
maximization mark.
So, to summarize with all the information given, Company A should always strive to have their
marginal cost be equal to their marginal cost in order to maximize profit. If they see that their marginal
revenue is higher than the marginal cost then more output needs to be produced to get their max profit.
In contract, if the marginal cost if higher than the marginal revenue then output needs to

Maths Tutoring Math Research Paper
I write my personal philosophy from the perspective of a maths tutor, as I am yet to engage as a maths
teacher. Ideally, I would love to impart on my students the same love of mathematics as I have.
However, the world is rarely an ideal place.
My ethos in tutoring maths is to remove any fear the student may have in regard to mathematics and
then encourage the student to develop confidence in his or her own mathematical abilities. This initial
object without question is often extremely challenging. However, watching as a student grows in
confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a maths tutor. Furthermore, the development
of mathematical confidence is catalyst for both better understanding and achievements in the subject.
My focus with senior mathematics is giving the students strong foundations on which they can build,
in everyday life or further studies. Undoubtedly, relaxed and confident students are more receptive to
the, often challenging, content of senior mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to be curious
and ask as many questions as they need to gain understanding. In addition, they need to develop a
good work ethics and positive approach to their studies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dance Obstacles
The beginning of class was a bit challenging because it has been so long since I have actually
practiced dance and stretched. The workout and warm up for the first two weeks kept my body in
great shape capable of feeling relaxed and muscles moving. The warm up made the dances a bit easier
to actually keep up, but still was a challenge. The way the stretches are handled are great because it is
a new routine my body has not gone through. It is quiet the challenge because my left leg is stronger
than my right, but I push through to have the equal exposure. I am a dancer who learns by seeing the
movement being taught step by step then I expose myself to the new step procedure. I have difficulty
with copying and mirroring because my mind cannot process different directions. It gets easily as I
continue the step and actually slowly do it myself, but I build up the pace as I actually get the steps
myself. I also notice my body is stiff and that has always been one of the challenges I noticed being a
dancer. When I learn something new I create this tension that stiffens my spine and it only becomes
relaxed once I clearly know the passages myself. The carving through space is a new exposure to ...

  • 2. Architecture Aspects And Architecture Of The Bauhaus In... The Bauhaus was set up in 1919 in Weimar by Walter Gropius. In 1925, the Bauhaus moved from Weimar to Dessau, where a new building is designed by Gropius. In this essay, I am going to discuss about the opinions made by many on the approach used and intention in rebuilding the Bauhaus in Dessau. The architectural aspects and interior space planning of the Bauhaus have become the identifications of the modernist architecture as well as legend in the history of design and design education. What unique about the Bauhaus is the fact that its ideologies epitomize changing concepts concerning the nature and purpose of design in the early twentieth century. The art inherited, reinterpreted and then rejected the craft ideals of the nineteenth century ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is mentioned that (BAUHAUS, eds. Jeannine Fiedler, Peter Feierabend, pg.88), given the numerous extant illustrations of modern architecture, by the fact that, contrary to their captions and picture tiles, which continually refer to man and the conditions of his life, people are very rarely seen in the photographs. This absence of people in the buildings and individual rooms illustrated, accords precisely with the program of architectural modernism, in which laws are more often to be found showing themselves than living beings and in which the name of the creators tend to be more important than the men and women who occupied the building and had to live in them day in and day out. Bauhaus architecture is supposed to convey authoritative experiences, but were impervious to any rational argument or other objections. Hence, these rooms and houses existed not for actual people but rather for ideal beings, which was the reason why the designers had to be regarded somewhat as geniuses of social awareness. Incidentally this also marks the limits of what was at the time, and in part still is today, the customary scope of functionalist or even ergonomic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Role Of Dea Is A Linear Programming Methodology... The related research uses a variety of variables. Based on the nature of DEA, the number of variables in the model affects the results. Given imperfect data, researchers often must make tradeoffs in selecting input and output variables. In this research, in order to verify the stability of the DEA model, a stability test is conducted by changing the number of inputs and outputs. To get a fuller picture, four models are developed for this test. Spearman correlation coefficients are calculated to assess the impact of the variation. DEA is a linear programming methodology measuring the relative performance and efficiency of multiple DMUs when the production process is composed of a difficult structure of multiple inputs and outputs [38]. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Details of the linear form of a CRS model may be found in Chapter 2 of Cooper [39]. The dual of the linear model reduces the number of constraints and makes the linear problem easier to solve. It is given below [39, 40]: where is the measure of the efficiency of DMUo, the DMU in the set of DMUs rated relative to the others; and is the dual weight assigned to DMUs. Constant returns to scale are assumed in the above model. When the constraint is added, we have a variable return to scale model [6]. The DEA estimates of is an indicator of efficiency. It measures the distance between the observed input/output combination and the efficiency frontier. The Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) is based on ideas similar to the DEA, but MPI allows comparisons between two periods. Assume the technology at is implied in a set , where all feasible are included, i.e., .The output distance function, based on , is . The distance function increases output as much as possible for given input and technology at time . Following Färe et al. [41] and Boisso et al. [42], MPI is defined as: Rearranging the terms in formula (4), following Färe et al. [41], we obtain the subsequent formula: The MPI is thus decomposed into two elements, efficiency change , and technological change . The distance functions in the MPI can be calculated by linear programming methods similar to those used in the DEA. DEA constructs a production ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Evolution Vs. Fossil Records Evolution has been a widely known discussion that many people have had over the past century, the theory of evolution has been welcomed by many scientists yet by some religious people it has been a taboo topic. The thought or the motion to entertain that humans evolved from primates is what some people would shudder and state that it goes against all their religious beliefs. However, scientist have pushed on the fact that evolution is not just a hypothetical or an outlandish theory but a theory that has multiple hard evidence to back it and that to ignore is ignorance and just plain stupidity. Four types of evidence of evolution are fossil records, genetic changes, the geographic distribution of species, and the similarities in embryos of species. One of the evidences of evolution is fossil records, with fossil records being the remains of plants and animals that scientist have found in sedimentary rocks. Fossil records have given us irrefutable evidence of evolution in the past, over a course of a long period of time, proving there is significant variation amongst living things. Evolution is a continuum; all the minor changes over a period of time add up to a major change. On the continuum, fossils are the points that displaying what the organism had become after evolving at that stage in time. Although fossil records are substantial evidence for evolution there are gaps in the fossil records due to the fact of incompletion of the collecting data. As evolution is ... • 6. Donna Haraway TEmmi Hodess GSWS 200 Midterm Bodies as Sources of Knowledge While bodies have been scrutinized throughout history at a biological level, feminist and queer theorists look at the body as a site for sociopolitical thought. Bodies operate as devices through which people can experience the world. Each body is uniquely located in a specific space and time. Feminist and queer writers view the embodied self rooted within a specific location and environment. Feminist and queer studies informed by critical race and postcolonial theory and cultural analysis explore the limits of subjectivity in a global climate that excludes certain bodies, particularly those that do not and/or cannot fit within a white, middle class, cisgender, heteronormative, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Rich started her essay by focusing on lines of exclusion in history, Haraway turns to science. Right away, Haraway points to problems with the current and popular definition of objectivity, specifically that objectivity only privileges the rich, white, male, Western demographics. In tying objectivity to bodies, Haraway notes that objectivity is a privilege to unmarked bodies dominant members in society. Knowledge from the point of view of the unmarked is truly fantastic, distorted, and irrational (Haraway 587). As Haraway argues, no one person/group can be truly objective. No body can not have an all knowing and all seeing view of the world. That would be a power or trick only available to gods. An individual does not have the ability or capacity to see every side of an issue. Echoing Rich, Haraway writes, Feminist objectivity is about limited location and situated knowledge, not about transcendence and splitting of subject and object. It allows us to become answerable for what we learn how to see (583). Haraway recognizes that marked bodies like womxn, or other racial, ethnic, or religious groups, have viewpoints that are not considered absolute and are consequently subjective and flawed. Haraway s solution for situated knowledges/partial perspectives recaptures objectivity in a methodological approach that re inscripts marked bodies into dialogue and focuses on situatedness and ... However, propaganda by North Korea is a visual artwork that depicts via images. This difference brings a huge difference in perceiving information from the artwork. However, considering that the Inferno had an extensive use of all senses in descriptions, Inferno can be considered as the part of showing instead of telling. For instance, throughout the Inferno, Dante is trying to understand what he had done in his life. He tries to reach the salvation as he takes a look at the hell. The fear of death and beyond death is solely dependent to the person who committed the sins. The religion clearly explains the procedure by describing the eternal suffering in the blazes. Therefore, if the person tries hard enough to overcome the fear of death, it is possible to overcome the fear of the margin, Unlike the fear of hell which was originally within the individual and religion, the fear brought from the propaganda is based on the other individual and politics. George Orwell Politics And The English Language Analysis In Politics and the English language, George Orwell portrays various tricks by which the work of prose construction is habitually dodged. (Orwell 583). Orwell s argument is the English language is being deformed by modern writers thus mocking the use of the language. Orwell relates this topic to political and economic issues to show how the use of English is critical with these aspects. He refers to this topic as a reversible process (Orwell 581) if writers follow his six rules; without them the writing contains staleness of imagery and lack of precision. (Orwell 582). Orwell names these tricks: dying metaphors, operators or verbal false limbs, pretentious diction, and meaningless words. • 10. Contribution Of Indian Nationalism The Indian independence movement was simply a response to British colonialism and oppression of the Indian subcontinent inhabitants. Indian nationalism was the most crucial factor of Indian independence, because it resulted in the swadeshi movement and national heros that joined the different people of India. Shivaji preceded Mohandas Gandhi, but both were among the first national heros. Indian national heroes are closely connected to Indian nationalism, but it is critically important to first understand Indian Nationalism. Indian nationalism was illustrated by people of Indian independence movement only in an effort to connect the various races of India. Nationalism can be described as the loyalty and devotion to one nation. Nationalists tend to exalt a nation, which is a group of people that care commonalities such as language, religion, traditions, customs, and habits. Nationalism, as exhibited by Indians, could lead to the desire for national furtherance of a nation or the striving for political independence. Indian Nationalism was propagated by philosophical anarchists, especially Mohandas Gandhi and Bhagat Singh. Indian Nationalists were fiercely occupied with creating their own idiosyncratic form of nationalism. Many Indian nationalists argued for nationalism on the verge of anarchism like Tagore. Tagore believed that european nationalism was a by product of capitalism , and gave rise to such evils as colonialism (Tagore 6). Furthermore, Tagore believed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A common underlying assumption, known throughout the world, is that war transforms a person; often it is both mentally and physically. Soldiers often transform from every day men to people who have to kill to survive. Killing someone would most likely change anyone. Now let s take a young, bright eyed women straight out of highschool and put her into a situation of warfare, a situation she has never experienced in her entire life or possibly even imagined. It s implied that she s a virgin which gives her a sort of naive sexual appeal, a women who s definitely unsure of who she is. You can tell through her character explanation that O brien gives that she has ultimately changed as a character. Her appearance has changed yet she doesn t lose all of her sexual appeal. In fact she becomes more desirable through this revelation. The idea of the loss of innocence is huge in this short story. It s shows that these men go to war as boys and return from war as killers. Rat at one point compares girls like Mary Anne as clean (25), in the beginning of this story she was like most girls you d imagine, yet by the end she has transformed into something dirty and unworldly. She is no longer clean or innocent she has seen and experienced things most people never will. When this is paired with a geographically vast market that operated with no fear of caravans being assaulted en route, this motivated all of the Islamic faith to do their best for their own advancement and the benefit of their society. THE MARKETING OF FOODS AND NON ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES TO CHILDREN Name Course Professor University City, State Date Introduction Even though marketing has the ability to influence people of all ages, children seem to be the most vulnerable ones. The 2003 Hastings report concluded, on the evidence up to that date, that children in the UK are exposed to extensive food advertising, and that the diet advertised is considerably less healthy than the diet healthcare experts would recommend (Halford and Boyland, 2013, p, 182). The case is not much different in other countries also. Reports from North America (Gantz, et al. 2007; Institute of Medicine, 2005) clearly indicated the increased vulnerability of children towards advertising and marketing activities of foods and non alcoholic beverage manufacturers. The majority of the children do not have the maturity to segregate between the good and evil. They are unaware of the traps made by the product manufacturers and service providers. Influenced by the attractive advertisements and the sales promotion activities by the foods and non alcoholic beverage manufacturers, children often compel their parents to purchase these things for them. Parents, on the other hand, are ready to satisfy the needs of their children since many of the parents think that fulfilling the demands of their children might help them to strengthen their relationships with their children. Differences Between Feminist Theology And Christian Theology If one were to ask ten modern day theologians to define the word theology, it is likely that they would hear ten different answers. Even within the various types of theology, for example, Christian theology, there are a wide spectrum of attitudes and beliefs. Even more so, if one were to compare evangelical theology with feminist theology, the differences would add up quickly. Two modern day theologians, Stanley Grenz and Catherine Keller, well known in their respective fields, have approached their theology from different backgrounds. The most obvious is the difference in gender. However, their theological methodologies, the definition, and nature of their theological goals and their approach to being biblically faithful are vastly different. First, we will start with marginal revenue, which is defined simply as the extra revenue that is made for each additional unit of a product that is sold. Ideally, I would love to impart on my students the same love of mathematics as I have. However, the world is rarely an ideal place. My ethos in tutoring maths is to remove any fear the student may have in regard to mathematics and then encourage the student to develop confidence in his or her own mathematical abilities. This initial object without question is often extremely challenging. However, watching as a student grows in confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a maths tutor. Furthermore, the development of mathematical confidence is catalyst for both better understanding and achievements in the subject. Undoubtedly, relaxed and confident students are more receptive to the, often challenging, content of senior mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to be curious and ask as many questions as they need to gain understanding. In addition, they need to develop a good work ethics and positive approach to their studies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 32. Dance Obstacles The beginning of class was a bit challenging because it has been so long since I have actually practiced dance and stretched. The workout and warm up for the first two weeks kept my body in great shape capable of feeling relaxed and muscles moving. The warm up made the dances a bit easier to actually keep up, but still was a challenge. The way the stretches are handled are great because it is a new routine my body has not gone through. It is quiet the challenge because my left leg is stronger than my right, but I push through to have the equal exposure. I am a dancer who learns by seeing the movement being taught step by step then I expose myself to the new step procedure. I have difficulty with copying and mirroring because my mind cannot process different directions. It gets easily as I continue the step and actually slowly do it myself, but I build up the pace as I actually get the steps myself. I also notice my body is stiff and that has always been one of the challenges I noticed being a dancer. When I learn something new I create this tension that stiffens my spine and it only becomes relaxed once I clearly know the passages myself. The carving through space is a new exposure to ... I was never in the position of dancing as the leader I would follow along or copy, but to take charge was a bit odd because I was not so sure if I was right. I have lack of confidence and if I demonstrated that more I would be able to present these leadership qualities more even outside of the dance setting. I think it is because I have a smaller chest I make myself believe I do not have the representation of being a leader, but I deliver my partners move well. It all is smoothly done and I easily get the movements down when you explain in detail. I learn from observing and moving into it slowly it is what allows me to present a similar ...
