Project #1 Report
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States
or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude, stated as the 15th
amendment in the United States Constitution from the Primary Documents in American History. Most
Americans vote for the candidate who represents their party, which is completely reasonable.
However, it s important to research each of the other applicants to get a better understanding of their
views and intentions, before casting in your ballot. For example, one of the lesser known candidates,
Jill Stein, shares some great ideas and perspectives on many key issues erupting through ... Show

There are many exemplary applicants this year and it would be beneficial to research each and every
one of them. Jill Stein is a very strong leader and an even more worthy candidate to fill the role of the
president of the United States. Some of her key issues are ways to improve the environment,
healthcare, education, violence, discrimination, and more. Stein is a strong, smart, and determined
candidate who can put these issues and policies into effect if she s voted into the oval office. Those
who have done their research on the candidates will have a chance to vote for Jill Stein in the 2016
United States Presidential election. Works Cited

The Case With The Lakeview Regional Hospital Simulation...
Sometimes failure can really be the best teacher. This was the case with the Lakeview Regional
Hospital Simulation Exercise. During the simulation, I learned a lot about working with a team,
knowing when to stand firm and when to compromise. I have been a part of plenty of projects, but
sometimes I can be a little lost when it comes to the healthcare aspects of things. It was during these
times that I looked to my teammates to assist with filling in some valuable blanks about the healthcare
environment. I do have a lot of experience with introducing technology, training and media relations.
It was during these parts of the simulation that I could really lend a helping hand. The simulation
illustrated the importance of buy in amongst the implementation team as well as other members of the
entire organizations. It showed that there will always be some inherent resistance, but that doesn t
mean that change is impossible as long as there is some flexibility. I also learned that interviewing can
be a powerful tool. It is imperative to include as many perspectives as possible in order to successfully
change an organization. These interviews provide individual insight as to the current state of the
establishment, as well as provides many possible solutions to common problems. Through
interviewing we were able to note common trends in information to provide a more complete solution
to the overall problem. After interviews, the force field analysis allowed us to evaluate problems, as

Trade In Mesopotamia
Trade is more important than conquest because when an area is thriving in trade people will want to
control that land and try to conquer it. Mesopotamia is successful in trade because of the location. The
land is fertile and flat. This means the land is easy to access, which is great for trading. The Sumerians
traveled and traded bringing new ideas back and improving on older ideas. They also learned from
experience. The land was prone to unpredictable flooding and they adapted and made irrigation and
drainage systems. People who want power want the best location they can get with the most potential
for trading. In Mesopotamia, Sargon ruled for a while and then the Hittites, the Assyrians, and
eventually the Persians ruled the Mesopotamia area.

John Williams s Soundtrack for Harry Potter
Adventure, mystery, and magic all go hand in hand when it comes to the Harry Potter series written by
J.K. Rowling. The books were adapted into films starting in 2001. The first film, Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer s Stone, was directed by Chris Columbus. The story of Harry Potter is magical as is however;
the movie needed a little extra magic. This extra magic needed to be added through music. Director
Chris Columbus chose John Williams to compose the music for a promotional reel (John Williams).
After Columbus heard the song for the promotional reel he knew they had to have Williams compose
the entire movie (John Williams). Williams created an entire score for the movie and called it The
Harry Potter Suite. The Harry Potter Suite has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to portray this cornucopia Williams created what he called a small wizard orchestra (The
Harry Potter Suite). This wizard orchestra contained instruments such as: flutes, recorders, violins,
tambourines, triangles, xylophone, bells, harps, and cellos (). All of these instruments created a
brilliant tune. In Diagon Alley, the music is light, whimsical, and quick which mimics the atmosphere
of Diagon Alley. The music turns back to a curious, mysterious, majestic song when Harry and Hagrid
enter Gringotts bank because there are mysterious creatures in Gringotts called Goblins. When Harry
sees all of the money that his parents left him in Gringotts the music sounds like it sparkles just like
the gold coins sparkle in the film. The song changes again when Hagrid retrieves a peculiar item from
vault 713 in the bank. The music turns mysterious and secretive. The music in the scene about Diagon
Alley perfectly mimics the events and the atmosphere of the scene and helps tells the story. There is a
sport in the magical world of Harry Potter called Quidditch. Harry ends up playing of the Quidditch
team as a seeker, which is a player who finds a tiny, gold ball that flies through the air and the seeker
must catch it in order to win the match. The Quidditch match in the film is an exhilarating part of the
film. The entire school is at the match to watch the games. The crowd is excited which excites the
audience watching.

Legalizing Steroids Is Dangerous
Legalizing steroids is dangerous because they are not controllable. Steroids are becoming popular, but
no one is stopping to take a look at all the facts about the use of them. Remy an avid steroid user who
regrets using steroids suggests, There is no controlled way to use steroids (Campbell 3). Everyone s
bodies react different to what steroids can do. Some more dangerous than others. Controlling steroid
use is impossible because everyone uses different amounts and even a little can be dangerous.
Harrison Pope a professor of psychiatry at Harvard s McLean Hospital says, The preliminary data on
steroids suggest that long term use damages the muscle of the heart, significantly increasing the risk of
an attack (Butterworth 2). A continued use of steroids would do damage not only on the heart but the
whole body as well. Heart damage is very likely while using steroids. Views of the opposition suggest
that they are not worried about the un controlling factors. Tim Cowlishaw a sports writer for the
Pittsburgh Post Gazette states, I think if we made everything legal, we would learn eventually which
drugs and creams, and heaven forbid, antler sprays actually have benefits and what their risks are
(Cowlishaw 1). If society made steroids legal, controlling amounts would not be imaginable. Anyone
could get their hands on it, which could lead to over use and endangerment of human health.
Legalizing steroids represents cheating in all sports across the nation. There will always

The Growth Model And Economic Growth
Talking about the Endogenous growth model, it clarifies long run economic growth as radiating from
economic activities that make new technological knowledge. Endogenous growth can be explained as
long run economic growth at a rate dictated by factors that are internal to the economic framework,
especially those factors administering the opportunities and motivators to create technological knowl
edge. Over the long run, the pace of economic growth, as determined by the output per individual
growth rate, relies upon the growth rate of (TFP), which is concluded thus by the rate of technological
advancement. The neoclassical growth by Swan (1956) Solow (1956) expects the rate of innovative
advancement to be decided by a scientific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, in light of the fact that numerous innovations are becasue of R D expenditures carried ot
by profit driven companies, economic policies in regards to trade, rivalry, taxes, education and
intellectual property can impact the level of growth by influencing the private expenses and benefits of
doing R D. AK theory The principal type of endogenous growth theory was based on AK theory
,which did not make an express fidtinction technological progress and carpital accumilation. In
actuality it combined together the human capital and also the physical whose accumilation is
considered by neoclassical theory with the intelectual capital that is aggregated when innovations
happen. An early form of AK hypothesis was created by Frankel (1962), who contended that the total
production capacity can show a steady or even expanding marginal product of capital. This is on the
grounds that, when firms aggregate more capital, some of that expanded capital will talk the role of
intellectual capital thatsupports technological progress, and this advancement will counterbalance the
inclination for the marginal product of money to diminish. AK theory was trailed by a second influx of
endogenous growth model for the most part known as Innovationbased growth theory. It recognized
the fact that

Fantasy vs. Reality
Fantasy vs. Reality
Silently, my senses begin to abandon their rationale...who is to say then what is real? The world that
we live in, the reality, which we are a part of, is small and thus limited. That is why, in his infinite
capacity for potential improvement, man created fantasy. Fantasy is BIG! To a certain extent it is more
imaginative, more exciting, and more fun. Fantasy is like a lake where man throws all his ideas and
dreams, and then he dives on in from the springboard of imagination. So, jump in to the lake. Why
not? Just make sure that when you jump in to the lake you know how to get back from where you
came from. Because, no matter how big a fantasy is, to the point that it somehow changes our
perception of what is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is fantasy mixing itself with reality, that in the process, it is now becoming hard to determine
whether that particular fantasy is still just a fantasy apart from reality or it is already mistaken to be
reality itself. Soft trick of sun and shadow conjures the fruits and foliates into tall towers and halls,
risen from the windy old streets. This would mean the sun playing tricks by producing shadows.
Shadows are kind of a pointer to something, pointing to what is real and yet in itself is not real, just
like the imagination. Just as the sun produces the shadow, the mind produces the imagination, wherein
both the shadow and the imagination point to something that is real but again, in themselves alone are
not real. And so, the sun playing tricks would mean conjuring or summoning the fruits and foliates,
which refer to little bits of reality and transforming them into tall towers and halls, which in turn are
pinpointing to grand and fantastical images. In other words, simple pieces of reality are then altered
into majestic landscapes thus creating a fantasy. And to enhance the image more, the tall towers and
halls are risen from the windy old streets. What do we usually find in windy old streets? We find
dilapidated and out of date houses and structures and yet the image of tall towers and halls are found
on those very streets. The very presence of tall towers and halls

A Peaceful Evacuation Essay
Running head: LEADERSHIP STYLES IN A PEACEFUL EVACUATION 2
According to Vance Packard, leadership appears to be the art of getting others to want to do something
that you are convinced should be done (Lewis, 2003). Leadership is a pertinent part of project
management. James Lewis (2003) says leadership is not a position; it s the ability to gain commitment
from people. According to Professor Warren G. Bennis, Leaders are people who do the right thing;
managers are people who do things right . The importance of leadership in a project is demonstrated in
the case study, A Peaceful Evacuation: Building a Multi Project Team Battalion by Leading Upward .
This case study involves two leaders, who had similar, but mostly, different ... Show more content on

An example of this leadership style is when Daniel gathered other Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)
psychologists for a day of thinking together, with the objective of expressing and listening to their
different opinions about potential problems that may arise in the evacuation project (Laufer, 2012).
Daniel s strategy was to brainstorm to identify key issues and mitigate risks. He felt that preparation
was the key to completing the mission. Daniel also used the term we , instead of I . His group of
psychologists worked as team to identify how to execute the mission according to the government s
guidelines while ensuring that the damage incurred during the evacuation itself would be minimal.
Lieutenant Colonel Yaron displayed two types of leadership styles: directive and participative.
Directive style is telling people what to do and expecting them to jump right to it. It is one of the
oldest styles and frequently called autocratic. Yaron was accustomed to being lead with this style so, in
turn; he used the same leadership style to lead. Yaron was very hands on and encouraged the battalion
s company commanders to initiate ongoing meetings with their soldiers. Yaron met, called and
emailed with some of the top officers in the air force. He made immediate inquiries with the top

The Day One Fight Test Poem
Day One: Fight Test Everyone was watching. The camera lurched forward, sweeping over land
blanketed in dense forests. It paused to range over the scenery: over there, a river, weaving a sinuous
trail through the undergrowth; down here, a lake, bustling with life; up there, a temple, dwarfing its
surroundings. View tilting precariously, another swathe of the arena was exposed. Tufts of cloud clung
to mountains circled by trees. A cave yawned open like a gaping maw. In the distance, soaked in the
rays of the setting sun, the geometric forms of distant factories loomed. The camera careened, showing
a panoramic view of the whole area, dotted with the figures of tributes. Or at least, this would show on
the monitors anchored to the trees, the projector ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One, two, three... five... eight... Nine. Nine deaths. It was to be expected on the first day, when
violence erupted in the main arena. That meant 15 remained, including him. A sequence of dead
bodies materialised on the screen: some mauled beyond recognition, some familiar. The corpse of
Devin sprawled across the ground in an almost comic fashion, his expression reflecting his sudden
death. A gaping vacancy where his chest should ve been. Whimsical, bloody flourishes about him, like
the killer relished the murder. A man with a spear buried in his stomach bubbled up next, his eyes
filmed over, bleak and lifeless. Deus , said the text above him. Blyss hadn t met him before, (nor
would he get a chance) but he knew the name would forever be seared in his memory. As would
Cherry, the ruddy cheeked girl whose fragments were now strewn across the arena. Bryce too, who s
charred corpse gurned up at the camera. He d remember them all. He flopped backwards and sighed,
yet his parched throat only issued a harsh sliver of sound. I gotta sleep, or dehydration will get the
better of me. Blyss realised, and, his senses melting away, the gentle rush of the river beckoned him
into much needed albeit fitful sleep. * * *

Advantages Of Gravel And Stone Mulch
Gravel and stone mulches can be very effective, especially in gardens where organic mulches would
be too expensive or impractical. They are generally better at retaining heat in cold climates, along with
keeping valuable moisture in the garden soil. The disadvantages of using stone based mulch is that it
is heavy and difficult to remove, can be quite costly, and usually requires professional assistance to
install the mulch in your garden. Here are a few tips on working with gravel or stone garden mulch.

Disease resistance of newer varieties is also often better than that found in their older counterparts.
There are good standard varieties that can not be ignored, however. A comparison of a favorite variety
with a new introduction is a worthwhile gardening experience. There is no test quite as meaningful as
a comparison in your own garden. As you plant a garden this season, most likely you have a supply of
seeds left from last year or even previous years. Whether to plant these seeds depends on both the type
of seeds and the way they have been stored. Seeds stored properly from last year may germinate well
in the garden this year. Most garden seeds may be kept for one to two years and still germinate well.
The ability to germinate drops off faster in some others. Among those with the shortest life are sweet
corn, okra, onion, parsley, parsnip and salsify. Although these seeds may germinate reasonably well
after one year, the germination rate and vigor is seldom adequate after two years. Among seeds with a
slightly longer life and good germination up to three years are bean, carrot, English pea and southern
pea. Most other vegetable seeds will germinate well up to their fourth or fifth year when kept in cool,
dry storage conditions. In a germination test, we may find that when testing a group of old seeds, a
large number of seed will germinate. Still, when seeds from this same group are planted into the
garden, germination is poor. As seeds age, they may still be viable, but lose vigor. When exposed to
the less favorable germination conditions outdoors, the weaker seedlings may not survive long enough
to emerge from the soil. When using old seeds, plant more thickly than recommended. This not only
helps to get rid of the old seed faster, but improves the chances for having an adequate stand of plants.
It is better to thin plants when germination is good rather than attempting

The Chemical Compounds Of Synthetic Fertilizer
Once soil is intoxicated, the chemical compounds in synthetic fertilizer create a harmful environment
for microbial life and are later dispersed to surrounding areas through the process of hydrology. In
naturally fertile soil, microbial life is diverse and abundant. In fact, as soil microbiologist David Zuber
has stated in his Soil Microbiology FAQ article, there can be hundreds of millions to billions of
microbes in a single gram (about the size of a navy bean in volume) of soil. These microbes range
from bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, cyanobacteria, protozoa, and microarthropods, all of which play
very specialized roles in maintaining the integrity of soil. Innately, microbes ward off pathogens,
provide root protection, and maintain oxygen and moisture levels. (Hermary). For example, microbes
consume a naturally abundant and potent form of nitrogen (NH4+), along with other compounds, and
excrete preferred forms of nitrogen (NO2 N and NO3 N). This process, fixation, allow microbes to
maintain a fixed levels of essential chemicals. Likewise, through the process of denitrification,
anaerobic bacteria provides oxygen to soil by removing excess nitrate (NO3 N), while other microbes
aerate and disperse the supplied oxygen. While microbes execute an assortment of other tasks, it is
apparent that these organisms create a balance. However, with the introduction of synthetic fertilizer,
this natural balance is ravaged. As a result of repetitive application of synthetic

Ralph Nader’s Life Lesson in The Seventeen Traditions
Ralph Nader s book, The Seventeen Traditions, discusses several traditions, seventeen in total, which
the author learned from his parents, siblings, and other individuals in the community and draws certain
inspiring life lessons for the current society. The book is genially human and full of sensory
chronicles. Through the key traditions outlined in the book, Nader looks back at his Lebanese
background and childhood experiences that directly shaped his worldview. This review analyses some
of the most significant traditions in the book such as family table, independent thinking, health, and
business. These key traditions will also be vital in discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the
book.
Nader s book has really achieved its principal purpose, which is to educate the society on some of the
values and traditions that are vital in shaping a person s life. Through his key seventeen traditions, the
author has succeeded in creating a modern day fable on how one can grow from a child to a
responsible and successful adult. Nader s tradition of the family table proves to be the most significant
base in a child s education. The author reveals that the family table provided an ideal place in which
his parents taught him and his siblings respect and manners. To the author, most of the historical and
cultural topics together with various proverbs were discussed at the family table. This tradition has
some connections with my childhood experiences. Just like in the author s case, my

Stereotypes In The Last Of The Mohicans
Despite the historical significance that the Indigenous people had on the foundation of the United
States of America, the willful cultural ignorance concerning Native Americans is continuous in film
and pop culture across all modern broadcast media. Beginning in the early stages of colonization in
North America, the depiction of Natives was perpetually negative; encounters with early white
immigrants dating back to the Colonial era eventually coined them the nickname savages , which is an
epithet that has lingered for centuries ( European Americans and Native Americans View Each Other,
1700 1775. ). The generalization of Native American tribes stemmed from the accustomed dislike of
the race as a whole ( Native American Treatment ), and continues ... Show more content on

This predominantly accepted stereotype appears in a variety of films and is supported when the
Natives in Hollywood are dressed as warriors, preserving the savage image (Boyd 106). In The Last of
the Mohicans, a 1936 film based on the historical novel The Last of the Mohicans: A Narrative of
1757 by James Fenimore Cooper, the intense bloody battles between Natives, English, and French
were the highlight of the film (Cotton 11). In addition to being characterized as violent, Natives are
often two dimensional and lack character development, which furthers the stereotypes that were put in
place centuries prior. Natives repeatedly portray the sidekick role to white men as well, and this is
especially prevalent in the 2013 action film The Lone Ranger, where a Native boy, Tonto, plays the
companion of John Reid ( The Lone Ranger (2013) ). These inaccurate clichés remain incessant when
closely observed, as Native American tribes are almost always spotted on reservations or in the
wilderness yet another misconception. As of 2010, 71% of all Natives live in urban areas of the
country (U.S. Census Bureau). Stereotypes encourage inaccurate portrayals in film, and standard
depictions often influence those being

The Pros And Cons Of Standardized Testing For Students
Clammy hands, extreme anxiety, and increased heart rate are all symptoms that occur along side
standardized tests. Standardized tests have found their way into the center of American education.
These achievement tests are used to determine a student s performance in particular content areas for a
certain school year. The student s scores are then cross referenced to the scores of all other students
that took the same test (Haladyna). Many students work hard during their educational careers, only to
do poorly on a standardized test and lose their chances at being accepted into any decent college.
Standardized tests are not beneficial to the student nor to the teacher and are sometimes even harmful.
Students should be given standardized tests less frequently and educators should place less emphasis
on scores students receive on these tests. Standardized exams favor upper class majority students,
decrease the quality of public education, and ineffectively measure a student s achievement. By using
standardized tests to measure a student s academic ability and achievement, the education system is
giving the upper hand to higher class, racial majority students. Standard exams are racially biased and
include questions that favor white students. One study showed that average reading SAT score for
white students was 99 points higher than the average reading score of black students on the same test
(Jaschik). An explanation for such a drastic difference in scores lies within the

Elizabeth Barrett Browning s Love
Elizabeth s Love
What is Love? Love can be described as an intense emotional feeling with the ability to change the
life of the giver and the recipient of this profound emotion. Love can be described as a verb or action.
Love can be experienced in varying levels of intensity. Elizabeth Barrett Browning credits her love for
her husband as the power that headed her emotionally, physically, and spiritually. EEB began writing
at the age of twelve, but two years later, she was confined to her home due to a chronic illness and

no limits. Depth, breadth, and height, are 3D terms of measurements used to measure love with
completeness. These words were used to describe feelings of great magnitude; reaching deep within,
far above, and beyond the soul. The boundless limits of her love are not contained in earthly realms,
but go beyond to the outer universe. Depth, breadth, and height, are also biblical terms used to convey
the unconditional love of God. EBB makes reference to her religion by comparing her love to the
greatest love of all, the love of God. The implication of both a physical attraction and a spiritual love,
while professing as long as there is life, this perfect love will exist.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul

Augustine Of Hippo And Wolfgang Iser
Meaning is not created in one single time frame, it develops and evolves over time. Representation
refers to the essential part of the process by which meaning is produced and exchanged between
members in a culture (Hall 15). Theorists such as Augustine of Hippo, Jaques Lacan, Northrop Frye,
Roland Barthes, and Wolfgang Iser all have diverging opinions on the topic of representation due to
the evidently contrasting themes that they presented in each of their works. From the time of the third
century up until the more recent twentieth century, each of the listed theorists came to differrnt
conclusions about the representation due to the culture by which they were surrounded, and the
meaning that they were attempting to present. Despite differing ... Show more content on

Inspiration for his analysis came from his formative years by phenomenological and psychoanalytic
reformulations of psychiatric practice that began to criticize the constitutional model of the causation
of mental disorders dominant during that period (Groden 573). Michael Groden also states that
inspiration for Lacan s works came from the hysteria and paranoia of society on the issue of delirious
subjects (573). While Lacan was heavily inspired by the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud,
Lacan also greatly contributed to the field of literary theory and criticism specifically in his
speculations on language, the subject, sexual difference, ethics, and the unconscious (Groden 573). In
his text, Lacan s focus is on the connection between the structure of language of the unconscious with
the formula that defines the sign (Baggett lecture). Ferdinand Saussure, the originator of
Structuralism, theorizes that the signifier is just the sound image or a mental image that comes to

College Is The Waste Of Time And Money
In College is the Waste of Time and Money , author Caroline Bird argues that college is not better
suited for those who are looking to be financially successful. This is based on the facts of a low
turnover ratio of students in colleges and universities and calculation that money spent on college
would have yield higher returns from other businesses such as new venture and start up companies.
Bird urges us not to spend time and money on colleges and universities. It is true that colleges and
universities have become highly profitable businesses and exorbitant fees have made parents of a low
income search for other opportunities for their children. However, the positive sides of higher
education cannot be overlooked. The College produces highly skilled personnel in engineering,
chemistry, and other disciplines. In addition to the skills, social status, and reputation, which are
considered to be an intangible worth, are associated with college education. The higher the education,
the higher the prestige. Because knowledge and skills acquired through college education removes the
darkness of ignorance, college administrators need to exploit this potential by making college an
affordable place to get a practical education rather than making it a place to earn financial revenues.
With the slogan, education for all , the United States aspired many parents and students to attend
colleges and universities in the 1950s. By 1970s, the number of college goers increased sharply and

Before the arrival of the French Revolution, more than 40,000 people were killed during a period

dimension can be defined as an emotional bond that people have with their religious community. In
addition, it can also be described as spiritual cleansing people feel when preforming any rituals or
worshipping their religion. The Dalai Lama was known for his peace movement of preaching no
violence to the world. He was one of the most important religious figures in the world and people feel
an emotional attachment to him which can also be called experiential dimension.
Likewise, social dimension is related to experiential dimension due to the fact that social dimension is
all about the sense of community. Buddhism has a great sense of community, as it is depicted in the
Tibetan Book of the Dead. In the second segment, there is a scene in which an elderly priest and his

The Never Ending Cycle
The Never Ending Cycle
Everyone has heard someone comment on poverty in the United States. Some people say, the poor
have only themselves to blame for their situation. Or, why don t they get a job? This is the problem
with society today; the different levels of the class structure have grown so far apart from one another
they cannot even relate to one another. People look down on the poor as unmotivated and lazy when,
in fact, it is not their fault, but the fault of a society that does not value people of wage labor. In our
society today poverty is a never ending cycle that feeds off itself, making the rich richer and the poor
poorer. There are three main factors that can be brought up when talking about the cycle of poverty; ...

The problem with poverty is more deeply rooted than just the decision to attend school. Poverty also is
a factor of something the poor have absolutely no control over, the redistribution or dispersion of
money. This is the deciding factor in how the classes are formed. If the government does not
redistribute the wealth evenly throughout the class system, gaps appear. This is exactly what is
happening in today s society. Under the new policies of our president the richest one percent have
taken a 25 percent income tax cut while the poorest 20 percent have taken a 1.2 percent tax cut (Bush
Tax Cut Plan). It is said that the rich will spend their money on goods and services throughout the
economy, essentially trickling down or giving the money to the poor through businesses, but it has not
worked to date. From this theory we find that the cycle continues; the rich get richer and the poor get
poorer. So where does all this tax money go; shouldn t it be given back to the poor? In the poor s eyes,
yes it should, but in the rich people s eyes, no it shouldn t and so it does not. Sure, the government
puts some taxes towards welfare, but, in fact, roughly 38 percent of the federal income goes right to
the military cause (War Resisters League). Only about 30 percent of the federal income is spent on
human resources such as welfare and medicare. The money that can

Companionship Quotes In Frankenstein
According to the Oxford University Press, companionship is defined as, friendship, fellowship,
closeness, togetherness, amity, intimacy, rapport, camaraderie, brotherhood, sisterhood; company,
society, social contact. All these words form the idea of two people spending their time and life
together. The idea of companionship is a necessity in life, because all different types of people and
creations rely on the company of others. Without the company of others, people no longer act as they
should in society. They no longer learn new things and they become outcasts. In the book,
Frankenstein, the creature lives his life without a companion and the outcome is tragic.

He lived through many traumatic events all alone because he didn t have a companion with him. This
mental illness of PTSD, could have been avoided if he would have had a companion that looked like

The creature having PTSD leads him into becoming violent. This violence comes from the isolation of
a person or in this case the creature not having a companion and thus living life in isolation. There are
not many people who live their life in ...isolation (as a cause of violence), which produces such a

He does this because he is living his life in isolation, not relating on a personal level to anyone. The

My legs are spinning me around In a pattern I don t recognize anymore. To a song I no longer

Minimum Wage Is The Minimum Amount Of Compensation An...
According to investopedia.com, minimum wage is the minimum amount of compensation an
employee must receive for performing labor. Minimum wages are typically established by contract or
legislation by the government. As such, it is illegal to pay an employee. The minimum wage is
something that many people start off when commencing their own dependent life. Many lower classes
depend on the minimum wage so that they can feed their families and try to live a prosperous life. The
minimum wage in the United States can be underestimated, and many do not view it as an important
role in the economy. The minimum wage in the U.S should be raised due to the positive effects it may
have on the labor workers, the increase in productivity, and the benefits it may bring to minimum
wage workers. Minimum wages are a very important aspect when it comes to evaluating the economic
health of a country. The minimum wage is the one detail in a country s economy in which many low
class families take into consideration. There are many families that struggle with having to buy
groceries and being able to purchase items that the children require for schooling. As mentioned
earlier on, the minimum wage is a substance in which many people of America live off of and hope for
an increase in pay. Humans are constructed from proteins, carbon, and other scientific elements, but
not require money as to make one human. The need for money in one s life has increased over the
course on this nation s existence.

DTCA Sales Promotion
Synapsis
Direct to consumer advertising of prescription medicines (DTCA) can be defined as an effort (usually
via popular media) made by a pharmaceutical company to promote its prescription products directly to
patients.[1] DTCA is prohibited in Canada, under two provisions in Food and Drugs Act, which is
enforced by Health Canada. Despite this prohibition, Health Canada currently allows two forms of
advertising that mention either the product (reminder ads) or the indication (help seeking ads), but not
both.[1,2] The United States and New Zealand are the only countries where direct to consumer
advertising, including full product claim ads, is legal.[1,2] The $395 billion US pharmaceutical
industry spent $5.2 billion on DTCA in 2015.[3]

According to an Apr. 2013 survey, 68% of doctors agree that prescription drugs are marketed before
safety profiles can be known.[3] In response to the Vioxx recall from the market in 2004, it was
proposed to institute a mandatory waiting period for new drugs before DTCA is being permitted. The
Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommended a two year advertising moratorium to conduct adequate
post marketing safety surveillance.[1] The same approach could be adopted as a policy in Canada, to
ensure patient safety, while promoting consumer empowerment by enabling them to participate in
informed decisions about their health care with their doctors.
Option 3: Mandatory Pre clearance of Drug Advertising by Health Canada
Drug advertisements should be reviewed and pre cleared by Health Canada in accordance with their
mandates. They have to contain a fair balance of information be provided to consumers,[4] and require
the disclosure of risks that are common and significant, as well as those that are rare but serious (for
example, paralysis or death). Health Canada could impose a fee for this service to be paid by the
pharmaceutical companies.

Why The US Should Cut Immigration
Although President Trump s comments offer an anti immigrant view based on fear of a Cold War
anomaly and lack of better quality immigrant selection, history, and economic statistics support the
idea that legal immigration has, and continues to be, vital to the development and prosperity of the
United States.
Immigration was the foundation of the United States. The founding fathers left the British Empire to
escape religious persecution in search of a new start in life. Today this American dream is what
immigrants long for. Without immigration, the United States would most likely have seen minimal
growth throughout history. Statistics prove that the economy and diversity of the United States
significantly increased in relation to the amount of immigration. Despite the apparent importance of
immigration to the United States, some argue that immigrants steal jobs and increase crime. In reality,
immigrants increase jobs and further increase the stability of the United States.
Supporters of cutting legal immigration fear the influx of undesirable immigrants as well as the
possibility of terrorists entering the United States through immigration programs. President Trump and
his administration emphasize the idea that Americans and their jobs need to be protected from all
newcomers (Capó Web) due to their belief that this position is true. One resource supporting
restrictions on immigration is Capó Jr. s The White House Used This Moment as Proof the U.S.

Drug Use And Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (...
Ritalin is a prescription drug used primarily in the treatment of behavioural problems in children such
as Attention deficit disorder (ADD) and Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) (National
Drug Intelligence Centre 2006). It is estimated that 11 percent of Australians between the ages of 6 to
17 are affected by ADD or ADHD and the amount of Ritalin being prescribed has doubled in the last
10 years ( Schriever 2012). The brand name for Ritalin is methylphenidate, a drug that stimulates the
central nervous system. Its primary use is to stimulate the brain and improve concentration, therefore
helping the child control impulsive behaviour and overactivity (Royal Children s Hospital Melbourne
2010). When a child is taken to see a doctor for behavioural problems the General Practitioner will
refer these children to a child phycologist or paediatrician. They are then examined and asked a series
of questions which inevitably leads to being diagnosed with ADD or ADHD and leaving with a
prescription for Ritalin (G Bell 2014). This medication has been known to cause adverse side effects
in many children. There is also the problem of misdiagnosing the child s condition and with the view
that alternative treatments are available, Ritalin should not be used as a first solution in the treatment
of behavioural problems in children. Ritalin should not be used as a first option due to the ongoing
side effects that some children suffer from taking this medication. There are

flashback is shown to demonstrate where he had picked the gun up before. Afterward, a flash forward
shot speeds through back to the original frozen frame the film then resumes to Perello firing off his
firearm. In addition to the aforementioned camera cinematography, Running Scared also uses a variety
of subjective and cross cut shots. In one of the film s scenes, Gazelle s family is shown sitting at their
dinner table eating a meal. Gazelle says softly, Hey Nick, throw me some bread. just when a bullet
flies through the window from their neighbor s home interrupting their meal. When Gazelle goes to
investigate and discovers what had occurred, a flashback is shown alongside a cross cut shot that
shows the viewpoint of the bullet entering the window and whizzing past him and his family. This
allows viewers to see more than one viewpoint of the bullet s trail to piece together the entire scene.
Furthermore, just after the starting scene, a subjective shot is used to show Gazelle s viewpoint as he
looks forward while riding the back seat of a moving car. The camera constantly cuts out from his
viewpoint showing his face looking off in another direction. Just after Gazelle is calming down, we

Tennyson s Themes In The Story Of The Lady Of Shalott
How does Tennyson use the story of the Lady of Shalott to reflect on the situation of the artist in
modern times? Lord Tennyson perfectly describes the situation of the artist, in the sense that an artist
should find himself in solitude, perfect silence and isolation. This seems to be the perfect environment
for a poet, as if the whole world disappears and he is alone with his thoughts. But we can also admit
that it is not the poet s volition to be isolated in order to create and to be imaginative. The poet tries to
gather all of his thoughts, sentiments and passions and the result is a piece of art. It is widely known
that artists prefer to live all by themselves and their imagination is augmented because they prefer to

of their fail. The Lady of Shalott is imprisoned in a passive state, and her desire to change her future is

easy to be achieved. In the final stanza, Lancelot admires her only for her beauty, without knowing
that she dedicated years of her life closed in a tower, weaving a web with colorful images from the
exterior, as if she was a painter. This lack of gratitude was probably the major issue for the artists,

Should Music Be Taught In Schools
Music is pretty known all over the world. You can listen or hear music everywhere like your school or
even at home. Some families may want their children to learn about music while others do not. Music
helps you relax when stressed or sad. Music should be taught in school because it helps the brain,
helps comprehension skills, and helps coordination and organization. One important reason for kids to
play an instrument is that its good for the brain. While in music, you have to think and act in the same
time. Also, playing music helps kids use and improve memory skills. In source 2 it says one study of
preschoolers shows that kids who took keyboard lessons had more memory skills than kids who did

problems regarding the procurement of resources to meet the customer demand. Capacity planning is

My Memoir
My Memoir
Broken. My world is crashing before my eyes. How will any of this ever be okay again? Oh, that s

inspiration, my grandpa was ill. Over the next few months he got weaker. He wasn t able to do
anything on his own. He couldn t walk, eat, drink, shower, you name it, he couldn t do it. It was
honestly and truly, the hardest thing i ve ever had to watch. You go from seeing your hero funny,
energetic, strong, and happy to weak, lifeless, and sad. Skip forward a little bit more and he was put
into the hospital in May. I wasn t able to visit him because every time I d start to go, I d have a panic
attack. I was finally able to visit him June 1st. At this time, he had been in and out of the hospital at
least 4 times. When I visited, as soon as I walked in, I smelled antiseptic and latex gloves. Just like a
hospital would smell. It was a wonderful hospital though, there was a pianist that was playing jazz in
the lobby. My grandpa loved it. When we visited, we cherished every bonding moment, laughing
moment, and sad moment knowing we wouldn t have much more time with him. All the memories
that night were worth keeping ahold of. I remember so clearly that as I walked into his hospital room,
he saw me, and I got the biggest smile I ve ever seen from anyone. It brought tears to my eyes. With
that smile I saw the dehydration on him. His lips were cracking, dry,

The Susan G. Komen Foundation Of Greater Atlanta
Literature Review The Susan G. Komen Foundation of Greater Atlanta s goal is to reduce mortality of
African American breast cancer by 25% in the next 5 years (Susan G. Komen Atlanta, 2017). In order
to reach this goal, Komen has created many local outreach programs to educate the community about
breast health and breast cancer screening (Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, 2017). Educational
programs like these can have significant impacts on breast cancer mortality rates (Asuquo and Olajide,
2015). However, they may need to focus on certain racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic groups (Herndon,
et al., 2013). Worship in Pink is one of Komen s educational outreach programs that provides breast
health and screening information to participating religious organizations (Susan G. Komen, 2017).
Breast Health Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in American women (Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, 2017). However, regular screening and mammograms can help
reduce the mortality rates of breast cancer patients (LaPorta, et al., 2017). Signs and symptoms of
breast cancer may include lumps, abnormal changes to the nipple, abnormal discharge from the nipple,
or change in color of the breast or part of the breast (Asuquo and Olajide, 2015). There are many
factors that can put women at risk of developing breast cancer, the two most common being growing
older and being female (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017). Other risk factors can
include things such as a

Most Americans vote for the candidate who represents their party, which is completely reasonable. • 3. The Case With The Lakeview Regional Hospital Simulation... Sometimes failure can really be the best teacher. This was the case with the Lakeview Regional Hospital Simulation Exercise. During the simulation, I learned a lot about working with a team, knowing when to stand firm and when to compromise. I have been a part of plenty of projects, but sometimes I can be a little lost when it comes to the healthcare aspects of things. It was during these times that I looked to my teammates to assist with filling in some valuable blanks about the healthcare environment. I do have a lot of experience with introducing technology, training and media relations. It was during these parts of the simulation that I could really lend a helping hand. The simulation illustrated the importance of buy in amongst the implementation team as well as other members of the entire organizations. It showed that there will always be some inherent resistance, but that doesn t mean that change is impossible as long as there is some flexibility. I also learned that interviewing can be a powerful tool. It is imperative to include as many perspectives as possible in order to successfully change an organization. These interviews provide individual insight as to the current state of the establishment, as well as provides many possible solutions to common problems. Through interviewing we were able to note common trends in information to provide a more complete solution to the overall problem. After interviews, the force field analysis allowed us to evaluate problems, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mesopotamia is successful in trade because of the location. The land is fertile and flat. This means the land is easy to access, which is great for trading. The Sumerians traveled and traded bringing new ideas back and improving on older ideas. They also learned from experience. The land was prone to unpredictable flooding and they adapted and made irrigation and drainage systems. People who want power want the best location they can get with the most potential for trading. • 5. John Williams s Soundtrack for Harry Potter Adventure, mystery, and magic all go hand in hand when it comes to the Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling. The books were adapted into films starting in 2001. The first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone, was directed by Chris Columbus. The story of Harry Potter is magical as is however; the movie needed a little extra magic. This extra magic needed to be added through music. Director Chris Columbus chose John Williams to compose the music for a promotional reel (John Williams). After Columbus heard the song for the promotional reel he knew they had to have Williams compose the entire movie (John Williams). Williams created an entire score for the movie and called it The Harry Potter Suite. The Harry Potter Suite has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to portray this cornucopia Williams created what he called a small wizard orchestra (The Harry Potter Suite). This wizard orchestra contained instruments such as: flutes, recorders, violins, tambourines, triangles, xylophone, bells, harps, and cellos (). All of these instruments created a brilliant tune. In Diagon Alley, the music is light, whimsical, and quick which mimics the atmosphere of Diagon Alley. The music turns back to a curious, mysterious, majestic song when Harry and Hagrid enter Gringotts bank because there are mysterious creatures in Gringotts called Goblins. When Harry sees all of the money that his parents left him in Gringotts the music sounds like it sparkles just like the gold coins sparkle in the film. The song changes again when Hagrid retrieves a peculiar item from vault 713 in the bank. The music turns mysterious and secretive. The music in the scene about Diagon Alley perfectly mimics the events and the atmosphere of the scene and helps tells the story. There is a sport in the magical world of Harry Potter called Quidditch. Harry ends up playing of the Quidditch team as a seeker, which is a player who finds a tiny, gold ball that flies through the air and the seeker must catch it in order to win the match. The Quidditch match in the film is an exhilarating part of the film. The entire school is at the match to watch the games. The crowd is excited which excites the audience watching. ... • 6. Legalizing Steroids Is Dangerous Legalizing steroids is dangerous because they are not controllable. Steroids are becoming popular, but no one is stopping to take a look at all the facts about the use of them. Remy an avid steroid user who regrets using steroids suggests, There is no controlled way to use steroids (Campbell 3). Everyone s bodies react different to what steroids can do. Some more dangerous than others. Controlling steroid use is impossible because everyone uses different amounts and even a little can be dangerous. Harrison Pope a professor of psychiatry at Harvard s McLean Hospital says, The preliminary data on steroids suggest that long term use damages the muscle of the heart, significantly increasing the risk of an attack (Butterworth 2). A continued use of steroids would do damage not only on the heart but the whole body as well. Heart damage is very likely while using steroids. Views of the opposition suggest that they are not worried about the un controlling factors. Tim Cowlishaw a sports writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette states, I think if we made everything legal, we would learn eventually which drugs and creams, and heaven forbid, antler sprays actually have benefits and what their risks are (Cowlishaw 1). If society made steroids legal, controlling amounts would not be imaginable. Anyone could get their hands on it, which could lead to over use and endangerment of human health. Legalizing steroids represents cheating in all sports across the nation. There will always ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Growth Model And Economic Growth Talking about the Endogenous growth model, it clarifies long run economic growth as radiating from economic activities that make new technological knowledge. Endogenous growth can be explained as long run economic growth at a rate dictated by factors that are internal to the economic framework, especially those factors administering the opportunities and motivators to create technological knowl edge. Over the long run, the pace of economic growth, as determined by the output per individual growth rate, relies upon the growth rate of (TFP), which is concluded thus by the rate of technological advancement. Additionally, in light of the fact that numerous innovations are becasue of R D expenditures carried ot by profit driven companies, economic policies in regards to trade, rivalry, taxes, education and intellectual property can impact the level of growth by influencing the private expenses and benefits of doing R D. AK theory The principal type of endogenous growth theory was based on AK theory ,which did not make an express fidtinction technological progress and carpital accumilation. In actuality it combined together the human capital and also the physical whose accumilation is considered by neoclassical theory with the intelectual capital that is aggregated when innovations happen. An early form of AK hypothesis was created by Frankel (1962), who contended that the total production capacity can show a steady or even expanding marginal product of capital. This is on the grounds that, when firms aggregate more capital, some of that expanded capital will talk the role of intellectual capital thatsupports technological progress, and this advancement will counterbalance the inclination for the marginal product of money to diminish. AK theory was trailed by a second influx of endogenous growth model for the most part known as Innovationbased growth theory. It recognized the fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Fantasy vs. Reality Fantasy vs. Reality Silently, my senses begin to abandon their rationale...who is to say then what is real? The world that we live in, the reality, which we are a part of, is small and thus limited. That is why, in his infinite capacity for potential improvement, man created fantasy. Fantasy is BIG! To a certain extent it is more imaginative, more exciting, and more fun. Fantasy is like a lake where man throws all his ideas and dreams, and then he dives on in from the springboard of imagination. So, jump in to the lake. Why not? Just make sure that when you jump in to the lake you know how to get back from where you came from. Because, no matter how big a fantasy is, to the point that it somehow changes our perception of what is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is fantasy mixing itself with reality, that in the process, it is now becoming hard to determine whether that particular fantasy is still just a fantasy apart from reality or it is already mistaken to be reality itself. Soft trick of sun and shadow conjures the fruits and foliates into tall towers and halls, risen from the windy old streets. This would mean the sun playing tricks by producing shadows. Shadows are kind of a pointer to something, pointing to what is real and yet in itself is not real, just like the imagination. Just as the sun produces the shadow, the mind produces the imagination, wherein both the shadow and the imagination point to something that is real but again, in themselves alone are not real. And so, the sun playing tricks would mean conjuring or summoning the fruits and foliates, which refer to little bits of reality and transforming them into tall towers and halls, which in turn are pinpointing to grand and fantastical images. In other words, simple pieces of reality are then altered into majestic landscapes thus creating a fantasy. And to enhance the image more, the tall towers and halls are risen from the windy old streets. What do we usually find in windy old streets? We find dilapidated and out of date houses and structures and yet the image of tall towers and halls are found on those very streets. The very presence of tall towers and halls ... A Peaceful Evacuation Essay Running head: LEADERSHIP STYLES IN A PEACEFUL EVACUATION 2 According to Vance Packard, leadership appears to be the art of getting others to want to do something that you are convinced should be done (Lewis, 2003). Leadership is a pertinent part of project management. James Lewis (2003) says leadership is not a position; it s the ability to gain commitment from people. According to Professor Warren G. Bennis, Leaders are people who do the right thing; managers are people who do things right . The importance of leadership in a project is demonstrated in the case study, A Peaceful Evacuation: Building a Multi Project Team Battalion by Leading Upward . This case study involves two leaders, who had similar, but mostly, different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this leadership style is when Daniel gathered other Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) psychologists for a day of thinking together, with the objective of expressing and listening to their different opinions about potential problems that may arise in the evacuation project (Laufer, 2012). Daniel s strategy was to brainstorm to identify key issues and mitigate risks. He felt that preparation was the key to completing the mission. Daniel also used the term we , instead of I . His group of psychologists worked as team to identify how to execute the mission according to the government s guidelines while ensuring that the damage incurred during the evacuation itself would be minimal. Lieutenant Colonel Yaron displayed two types of leadership styles: directive and participative. Directive style is telling people what to do and expecting them to jump right to it. It is one of the oldest styles and frequently called autocratic. Yaron was accustomed to being lead with this style so, in turn; he used the same leadership style to lead. Yaron was very hands on and encouraged the battalion s company commanders to initiate ongoing meetings with their soldiers. It paused to range over the scenery: over there, a river, weaving a sinuous trail through the undergrowth; down here, a lake, bustling with life; up there, a temple, dwarfing its surroundings. View tilting precariously, another swathe of the arena was exposed. Tufts of cloud clung to mountains circled by trees. A cave yawned open like a gaping maw. In the distance, soaked in the rays of the setting sun, the geometric forms of distant factories loomed. The camera careened, showing a panoramic view of the whole area, dotted with the figures of tributes. Or at least, this would show on the monitors anchored to the trees, the projector ... That meant 15 remained, including him. A sequence of dead bodies materialised on the screen: some mauled beyond recognition, some familiar. The corpse of Devin sprawled across the ground in an almost comic fashion, his expression reflecting his sudden death. A gaping vacancy where his chest should ve been. They are generally better at retaining heat in cold climates, along with keeping valuable moisture in the garden soil. The disadvantages of using stone based mulch is that it is heavy and difficult to remove, can be quite costly, and usually requires professional assistance to install the mulch in your garden. Disease resistance of newer varieties is also often better than that found in their older counterparts. There are good standard varieties that can not be ignored, however. A comparison of a favorite variety with a new introduction is a worthwhile gardening experience. There is no test quite as meaningful as a comparison in your own garden. As you plant a garden this season, most likely you have a supply of seeds left from last year or even previous years. Whether to plant these seeds depends on both the type of seeds and the way they have been stored. Seeds stored properly from last year may germinate well in the garden this year. Most garden seeds may be kept for one to two years and still germinate well. The ability to germinate drops off faster in some others. Among those with the shortest life are sweet corn, okra, onion, parsley, parsnip and salsify. Although these seeds may germinate reasonably well after one year, the germination rate and vigor is seldom adequate after two years. Among seeds with a slightly longer life and good germination up to three years are bean, carrot, English pea and southern pea. Most other vegetable seeds will germinate well up to their fourth or fifth year when kept in cool, dry storage conditions. In a germination test, we may find that when testing a group of old seeds, a large number of seed will germinate. Still, when seeds from this same group are planted into the garden, germination is poor. As seeds age, they may still be viable, but lose vigor. When exposed to the less favorable germination conditions outdoors, the weaker seedlings may not survive long enough to emerge from the soil. When using old seeds, plant more thickly than recommended. This not only helps to get rid of the old seed faster, but improves the chances for having an adequate stand of plants. It is better to thin plants when germination is good rather than attempting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Chemical Compounds Of Synthetic Fertilizer Once soil is intoxicated, the chemical compounds in synthetic fertilizer create a harmful environment for microbial life and are later dispersed to surrounding areas through the process of hydrology. In naturally fertile soil, microbial life is diverse and abundant. In fact, as soil microbiologist David Zuber has stated in his Soil Microbiology FAQ article, there can be hundreds of millions to billions of microbes in a single gram (about the size of a navy bean in volume) of soil. These microbes range from bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, cyanobacteria, protozoa, and microarthropods, all of which play very specialized roles in maintaining the integrity of soil. Innately, microbes ward off pathogens, provide root protection, and maintain oxygen and moisture levels. (Hermary). For example, microbes consume a naturally abundant and potent form of nitrogen (NH4+), along with other compounds, and excrete preferred forms of nitrogen (NO2 N and NO3 N). This process, fixation, allow microbes to maintain a fixed levels of essential chemicals. Likewise, through the process of denitrification, anaerobic bacteria provides oxygen to soil by removing excess nitrate (NO3 N), while other microbes aerate and disperse the supplied oxygen. While microbes execute an assortment of other tasks, it is apparent that these organisms create a balance. However, with the introduction of synthetic fertilizer, this natural balance is ravaged. As a result of repetitive application of synthetic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Stereotypes In The Last Of The Mohicans Despite the historical significance that the Indigenous people had on the foundation of the United States of America, the willful cultural ignorance concerning Native Americans is continuous in film and pop culture across all modern broadcast media. Beginning in the early stages of colonization in North America, the depiction of Natives was perpetually negative; encounters with early white immigrants dating back to the Colonial era eventually coined them the nickname savages , which is an epithet that has lingered for centuries ( European Americans and Native Americans View Each Other, 1700 1775. ). This predominantly accepted stereotype appears in a variety of films and is supported when the Natives in Hollywood are dressed as warriors, preserving the savage image (Boyd 106). In The Last of the Mohicans, a 1936 film based on the historical novel The Last of the Mohicans: A Narrative of 1757 by James Fenimore Cooper, the intense bloody battles between Natives, English, and French were the highlight of the film (Cotton 11). In addition to being characterized as violent, Natives are often two dimensional and lack character development, which furthers the stereotypes that were put in place centuries prior. Natives repeatedly portray the sidekick role to white men as well, and this is especially prevalent in the 2013 action film The Lone Ranger, where a Native boy, Tonto, plays the companion of John Reid ( The Lone Ranger (2013) ). These inaccurate clichés remain incessant when closely observed, as Native American tribes are almost always spotted on reservations or in the wilderness yet another misconception. • 15. The Pros And Cons Of Standardized Testing For Students Clammy hands, extreme anxiety, and increased heart rate are all symptoms that occur along side standardized tests. Standardized tests have found their way into the center of American education. These achievement tests are used to determine a student s performance in particular content areas for a certain school year. The student s scores are then cross referenced to the scores of all other students that took the same test (Haladyna). Many students work hard during their educational careers, only to do poorly on a standardized test and lose their chances at being accepted into any decent college. Standardized tests are not beneficial to the student nor to the teacher and are sometimes even harmful. Students should be given standardized tests less frequently and educators should place less emphasis on scores students receive on these tests. Standardized exams favor upper class majority students, decrease the quality of public education, and ineffectively measure a student s achievement. By using standardized tests to measure a student s academic ability and achievement, the education system is giving the upper hand to higher class, racial majority students. Standard exams are racially biased and include questions that favor white students. One study showed that average reading SAT score for white students was 99 points higher than the average reading score of black students on the same test (Jaschik). College Is The Waste Of Time And Money In College is the Waste of Time and Money , author Caroline Bird argues that college is not better suited for those who are looking to be financially successful. This is based on the facts of a low turnover ratio of students in colleges and universities and calculation that money spent on college would have yield higher returns from other businesses such as new venture and start up companies. Bird urges us not to spend time and money on colleges and universities. It is true that colleges and universities have become highly profitable businesses and exorbitant fees have made parents of a low income search for other opportunities for their children. Gazelle says softly, Hey Nick, throw me some bread. just when a bullet flies through the window from their neighbor s home interrupting their meal. When Gazelle goes to investigate and discovers what had occurred, a flashback is shown alongside a cross cut shot that shows the viewpoint of the bullet entering the window and whizzing past him and his family. This allows viewers to see more than one viewpoint of the bullet s trail to piece together the entire scene. Furthermore, just after the starting scene, a subjective shot is used to show Gazelle s viewpoint as he looks forward while riding the back seat of a moving car. The camera constantly cuts out from his viewpoint showing his face looking off in another direction. Just after Gazelle is calming down, we are returned back to Gazelle s view as ... • 32. Tennyson s Themes In The Story Of The Lady Of Shalott How does Tennyson use the story of the Lady of Shalott to reflect on the situation of the artist in modern times? Lord Tennyson perfectly describes the situation of the artist, in the sense that an artist should find himself in solitude, perfect silence and isolation. This seems to be the perfect environment for a poet, as if the whole world disappears and he is alone with his thoughts. But we can also admit that it is not the poet s volition to be isolated in order to create and to be imaginative. The poet tries to gather all of his thoughts, sentiments and passions and the result is a piece of art. It is widely known that artists prefer to live all by themselves and their imagination is augmented because they prefer to find their inner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the final stanza, Lancelot admires her only for her beauty, without knowing that she dedicated years of her life closed in a tower, weaving a web with colorful images from the exterior, as if she was a painter. This lack of gratitude was probably the major issue for the artists, especially female ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. My Memoir My Memoir Broken. My world is crashing before my eyes. How will any of this ever be okay again? Oh, that s right. It won t. Let me explain. It all started going downhill in February 2017. My best friend, my inspiration, my grandpa was ill. Over the next few months he got weaker. He wasn t able to do anything on his own. He couldn t walk, eat, drink, shower, you name it, he couldn t do it. It was honestly and truly, the hardest thing i ve ever had to watch. You go from seeing your hero funny, energetic, strong, and happy to weak, lifeless, and sad. Skip forward a little bit more and he was put into the hospital in May. I wasn t able to visit him because every time I d start to go, I d have a panic attack. I was finally able to visit him June 1st. At this time, he had been in and out of the hospital at least 4 times. When I visited, as soon as I walked in, I smelled antiseptic and latex gloves. Just like a hospital would smell. It was a wonderful hospital though, there was a pianist that was playing jazz in the lobby. My grandpa loved it. When we visited, we cherished every bonding moment, laughing moment, and sad moment knowing we wouldn t have much more time with him. All the memories that night were worth keeping ahold of. I remember so clearly that as I walked into his hospital room, he saw me, and I got the biggest smile I ve ever seen from anyone. It brought tears to my eyes. With that smile I saw the dehydration on him. His lips were cracking, dry, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Komen Foundation of Greater Atlanta s goal is to reduce mortality of African American breast cancer by 25% in the next 5 years (Susan G. Komen Atlanta, 2017). In order to reach this goal, Komen has created many local outreach programs to educate the community about breast health and breast cancer screening (Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, 2017). Educational programs like these can have significant impacts on breast cancer mortality rates (Asuquo and Olajide, 2015). However, they may need to focus on certain racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic groups (Herndon, et al., 2013). Worship in Pink is one of Komen s educational outreach programs that provides breast health and screening information to participating religious organizations (Susan G. Komen, 2017). Breast Health Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in American women (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017). However, regular screening and mammograms can help reduce the mortality rates of breast cancer patients (LaPorta, et al., 2017). Signs and symptoms of breast cancer may include lumps, abnormal changes to the nipple, abnormal discharge from the nipple, or change in color of the breast or part of the breast (Asuquo and Olajide, 2015). There are many factors that can put women at risk of developing breast cancer, the two most common being growing older and being female (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017).
