There are two different Clients, Domestic or Commercial. A commercial client is any individual or
organisation that carries out a construction project as part of a business. A domestic client is any
individual who has construction work carried out on their home. Commercial clients have
construction work carried out as part of their business. Domestic clients have construction work
carried out for them but not in connection with any business. Commercial clients have a crucial
influence over how projects are run, including the management of health and safety risks. Whatever

Analysis Of The Article Helping Victims Of Female Genital...
You meet a very young lady from a faraway land and its love at first sight. However, as you get to
know her more closely which she avoids the subject and this is a concern. The relationship
progresses and you find out that she was an unwilling participant in female circumcision. The article
Helping Victims of FemaleGenital Cutting written by Rebecca a. Clay is about women and young
girls being exposed to this practice of removing parts of their genitals. The author makes a powerful
statement using many strong points using various examples of studies performed on the
psychological after effects of these procedures and possible treatments.
The article Helping Victims of Female Genital Cutting is about how women and young girls who
have experienced female circumcision are coping with it psychologically. The author goes into how
this barbaric practice in the eyes of other countries is a violation of their rights. The article goes on
to talk about study s being conducted on the long term psychological effects on the women.
Furthermore, the article talks about possible treatments and how to help these women treat the
lasting effects of this practice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The practice of female circumcision is happening in areas across the globe such as Africa, Asia
and the Middle East. The United states and Serval others counties look at this as a vicious act of
genital mutilation and an outright human rights violation (Clay, 2017, p.g.22). The practice of
female circumcision has gone on for years as a cultural rite of passage in some countries. Other
countries see it as a religious belief and others see it as a way to make their daughter more
desirable for a husband The author reports that even through in the United States that many women
more than half a million are still at risk of having their genital cut from the CDC reports in 2012

Courage Vs Moral Courage
We find it easier, in these confused times, to admire physical bravery than moral courage the
courage of the life of the mind, or of public figures. ( Salmon Rushdie, 2013 ) The question we
all need to answer or ask is, do we or do we not? I strongly believe this is true, because we as
people of these times don t want to hear about politicians, we like to hear and learn about people
being brave, and saving others from harmful events that happens in everyday life. There are no
Gandhis, no Lincolns anymore. One man s hero( Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro) is another s villain.
We no longer easily agree on what it means to be good, or principled, or brave. ( Salmon Rushdie,
2013 ) My three main reasons for believing this is true is Some Profiles of Courageby Shane Lopez ,
a video called Physical Courage v.s. Moral Courage 755 x 5 Squat , and my current event on
Hurricane Harvey. From ancient to present times, this disposition to act appropriately in
situations involving fear and confidence in the face of physical danger seems to be universally
valued. ( Shane Lopez, P. 5 ) This is saying that when people show physical bravery they are
valued worldwide by everyone who knows what they done. Shane Lopez tells us all the
categories of courage, but physical courage/bravery is seen as more courageous than moral
courage. People these days don t care about a politician standing up for his beliefs, but what we do
want to hear about is a man in a cowboy hat that vaults

Progessives and The Pure Food and Drug Act Essay
At the turn of the century America entered a new age that many historians call the Progressive Era.
During this time period, the American Political system changed its view on how America should be
brought about. It provided a purification of the American government through direct democracy.
This era included many social and political reforms, which were brought about due to monopolies,
and trust corporations. One the key pieces of legislation that was a prime example of the
progressive era, was the Pure Foodand Drug Act of 1906. This law came about due to muckraking,
and also because of public and political interests. Muckraking, such as Upton Sinclair s piece, The
Jungle , helped in the timing of the adoption of this legislature.... Show more content on

These articles shifted the popular opinion in favor of a law being made to protect the regulation of
food and prescription drug production.
There were other measures that formed this bill, but it was the muckraking that pushed for the
timing of the bill. One measure was public interests. During this time period many people began
to question the quality of their food and how it was being processed. Also locals would write
about such instances, such as when Adams wrote about the quality of the machines that came in
contact with the meat. This outraged many citizens causing many groups to bombard Congress
with their concerns. Also during this time, there were certain advances that labeled the food
market during this time one of which is the development of cheaper food products. These cheaper
products allowed for more competition between these cheaper brands and the more dominant
more expensive brands. However, these cheaper brands did provide stiff competition for the
dominant brands, but in this case was not necessarily a good thing. While the cheaper products did
save those companies money, it hurt them in the public interest in the long run. This was because
there were no regulations and the companies could alter the food and deceive the consumer,
because of this. There was also the fear of the unknown, such as what the company has to done the
food product and how their food was being handled. This could also lead to consumer being

Theme Of The Tell Tale Heart And The Monkey Paw
The night waned, and I worked hastily, but in silence. First of all I dismembered the corpse. I cut
off the head and the arms and the legs. The common theme of death is obvious in the stories, The
Tell Tale Heart, and The Monkeys Paw, but this explains just a bit of the stories. The people
involved are dealing with death for very different reasons, which capture the reader s attention. The
Tell Tale Heart and Monkey Paw stories build suspense for the audience because the stories are
based around murder and death, which the feelings of fear, reasoning, insanity, sadness, guilt and
coping are the effects.
A child s parents have made a dire mistake with wishes given to them that cause a tragedy and loss.
When two parents are given three wishes from a monkey paw, their first wish was to ask for money,
which they got what they wanted, but it cost them their only son. The mistake tore the mother
apart, So she wished her son back to life with a second wish, but when the son was at the front
door the father wished him to his grave. The death of the son is sad, but the truly suspenseful
part is when the son comes back to life with the horrific injuries all because of the wishes made
with the monkey paw. If he could only find it before the thing outside got in. A perfect fusillade
of knocks reverberated through the house, and he heard the scraping of a chair as his wife put it
down in the passage against the door. He heard the creaking of the bolt as it came slowly back,

The Important Aspects Of Effective Nursing
Communication is one of the most important aspects in effective nursing. For a nurse to be
successful, communicating with patients, families, physicians, peers and ancillary departments is
necessary. Communication is not only verbal with language, words and sound, but also non verbal.
Non verbal behaviors such as touch, facial expressions, eye contactand movement, posture and
silence make up more than half of the art of communication(Giger, 2013). The population in the
United States is comprised of various cultures with different views of the meaning of non verbal
communication. Understanding the views of various cultures can create a positive and healing
environment for the patient, as well as increase patient and employee satisfaction (Starr Wallace,
2011).
Many patients feel comforted by touch; a hand on the shoulder can help to alleviate fear in the
hospital setting. Many cultures from Latin America, Spain and France are extremely affectionate
and communicate through touch (Giger, 2013). These cultures often share kisses on the cheek,
hugs and handshakes when greeting one another. As a nurse, I have experienced the embrace of a
family from Mexico showing appreciation for taking care of their loved one. It is important to
understand that other patients with different cultural backgrounds such as those from Germany and
England, might find this type of physical contact invasive and inappropriate (Giger, 2013).
Therefore, it is important for the nurse to understand the

highly improbable. So even though Mr. Davis rationally opposed all the evidences along with
his fellow jurors assumptions and prejudices, their arguments were valid. The boy was regularly
abused by his father; he belongs in a neighbourhood where crime is occupation. And he did have a
hostile argument with his father the night he was killed. It is 90% possible that he committed the

Rise Of Carthage Research Paper
After so many battles, such as against the Latins, Etruscans, and the Samnites, Rome was at her
strongest than ever before. The Romans had such great power, that they wanted more than just the
conquering of Italy (Morey, 1901). In the ambition for more, the Romans encountered the city of
Carthage which was a growing city building upon their strength that Rome wished acquire (Morey,
1901). In the following we will take a look at how the city of Carthagebegan, the power that each
city contained, and how such ambitions led to Rome becoming a great naval power.

The Romans delayed in whether deciding to help out or not, but soon realized that if they didn t,
Carthage would be called and acquire part of the island (Morey, 1901). It was due to their late
arrival, that a Carthaginian garrison had been already admitted in the city and conquered most of
the surrounding cities of the island (Morey, 1901). The Romans, though, achieved the possession of
Messana (Morey, 1901). The king of Syracuse along with the Carthaginians attempted to remove the
Romans out of Sicily (Morey, 1901). But the Romans showed their greater strength at land against
both, the king and the Carthaginians, and which led the king to overturn their alliance in favor of
the Romans (Morey, 1901).
The Romans then knew that in order to win the battle against the Carthaginians, they would need
a stronger navy to fight at sea (Morey, 1901). So the Romans constructed 100 replica vessels of a
Carthaginian vessel that had wrecked in the coast of Italy, within 60 days (Morey, 1901). At the
same time, Roman soldiers were being trained to row the vessels, and train to encounter the
Carthaginians hand to hand while at sea (Morey,

The Importance Of Drunk Driving In The United States
In 2013, 10,076 people died in drunk driving crashes one every 52 minutes and 290,000 were
injured in drunk driving crashes (State Farm). Many people may not think that just a couple
drinks would affect their driving capabilities, but in fact it does. Driving while intoxicated has
been a dangerous issue in the U.S but there are strategies which have helped minimize the
number of drivers driving while drunk. In all 50 states, the legal limit for drunk driving is a
blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level of .08. A 120 pound female can reach this level of
intoxication after only two drinks, and a 180 pound male can be at .08 after only four drinks

and their function as the engine of growth of the economy, this paper examines the extent to which
the banking industry has helped to stimulate economic activities in Nigeria and what the prognosis
looks like in the post consolidation era. The paper notes that the banking industry in Nigeria

Furthermore, banks act as a conduit for the transmission of monetary policy. They provide a
veritable platform when it comes to the implementation of monetary, credit, foreign exchange, and
other financial sector policies of the government. Among other things, monetary policy is designed
to influence the cost and availability of loanable funds with a view to promoting non inflationary
growth. The instruments available to the Central Bank to achieve this include open market
operations (OMO), the cash reserve ratio (CRR), liquidity ratio (LR) and of course, moral suasion.
The capacity of the banking industry to perform these functions effectively is, to a large extent,
determined by the financial health of the individual institutions themselves and soundness and
viability of the industry as a whole. For instance, where the majority of banks are adjudged to be
weak and unhealthy, that will impair the ability of the industry to lubricate economic growth and
vice versa. Against this background, the objective of this presentation is to examine the extent to
which the banking industry has helped to stimulate economic activities in Nigeria and what the
prognosis looks like in the post consolidation era, come January 2006.
To achieve its objective, this paper is organised into five parts. Following this introduction, we

Reproduction
Red Kangaroo breeds all year round, however spring and summer tend to be times when most

Factors that Contributed to Hitler s Rise to Power Essay
Factors that Contributed to Hitler s Rise to Power
Both long term and short term causes contributed to Hitler s rise to power in many ways.
The treaty of Versailles was a long term cause .It caused chaos in Germany many years after the
terms were agreed. The Germans from the beginning hated it. Hitler often spoke how he wanted to
get rid of the treaty, when he addressed his rallies, this also makes it a short term cause as it was
spoken about in Hitler s speeches at that point in time. Hitler made it matter to him, therefore it
would seem sufficient to the current situation in Germany between 1923 and 1933.

With his ideas he had for the future of his country he was sure he could win over the German
people.
The decision by Papen and Hindenburg to appoint Hitler, as chancellor is a short term inter acted
with long term cause. The decision is short term because at that stage Papen and Hindenburg were
not sure on making Hitler chancellor but they secretly met up with industrialists, army leaders and
politicians to discus the situation, and stupidly thinking they could control Hitler offered him the
post of chancellor, making this only relevant to the current situation in the short term future. At the
same time there decision is long term because they now could not go back on what they agreed
about Hitler being chancellor, even if they cant control his actions, the decision was made and the
future would now be Hitler the chancellor of Germany, a dictator. Both these long and short term
causes were necessary and extremely significant to contributing to Hitler s rise to power, by making
Hitler higher as chancellor, with more authority than ever before.
It seemed nothing would stand in the way of Hitler, once he was a dictator, not Hindenburg or
anyone else could stop him. Hitler s plan was working and the thing that got him to become

Who Is Lily s Objectification In The House Of Mirth
Despite their untruthfulness, they still make a large impact on the lives of the aristocracy.
People treat them like truth, which causes them to almost become a truth themselves. The myths
of the aristocracy make a large impact on the lives they define, usually in a negative way. They
make their victims feel confined to these myths even if they are positive. They create an
environment where everyone treats these people like the myths, which they inhabit. The myth
becomes more human than the actual person. The myths arise from one small fact then
speculation and assumption come and transform the fib into reality. One of the most significant
myths in the novel is the idea that Lily is an object. It follows her where ever she goes in her
society and warps people s actions directed towards her. In The House of Mirth by Edith
Wharton the myth of Lily being an object makes people treat her like a decoration or a prize to
be won instead of an actual human being, which causes Lily to have the skills of an object and the
soul of a being.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even before Lily walked amongst the living, the aristocracy treated women more like objects than
people. A women s value came from her beauty and how well she entertained the folk around her,
not personality traits. The more beautiful the woman, the more valuable she became, and worse she
was treated. Instead of being viewed as merely another beautiful painting in an exhibit, they became
the star attraction. Society put more pressure on them to act like decorative beings than other
women, and men treat them like prizes or trophies. These ideas of women traveled from one
generation to the next with parents teaching their children how women should act and how to
determine a woman s value. Then here comes Lily into this world. A natural beauty, she has to be

What Role Does The Satan Play In The Book Of Job
By classic definition, the character or being of the Satan is Job is not a main character, but the
story is unable to happen without his involvement. The Satan is essential for the story of Job,
because without the Satan, the trials and testing of Job would never have occurred in the first
place. The role of the Satanis equally as important to proper understandingof the book of Job. Most
scholars argue that the Satan here is a separate entity from the Devil or Satan in Jewish and
Christian theological understandings. If not the devil himself, who is this Satan? The interpretation
of the role of this being spans from divine prosecutor, servant of God, and even executioner. The

Stokes states that the Executioner is the proper understanding of [the Satan] in Zechariah and Job.
Stokes bases his argument in the idea that he believes there has been improper translation of the
words the Satan from the original Hebrew by saying that the characters can also be understood as
attacker or in a legalistic approach, executioner. The acts of the Satan of Job to the Satan in the
book of Zechariah is comparable to a superhuman executioner (Stokes). The Satan of Job is the
primary attacker of Job, which is cohesive with Stokes understanding; he emphasizes the fact that
the Satan viciously afflicts the undeserving Job (Stokes). In addition, the notion of the executioner
is brought in by the idea that God verbally limits the amount pain the Satan can use to avoid the
death of Job (Stokes). These instructions limiting the Satan s freedom would have been necessary,
given that the use of such physical and lethal force would have normally been within the purview of
the Executioner s authority (Stokes). The Satan receives permission from God and the maximum
punishment allowed as an executioner would. Stokes concludes, Despite the complexity of the
book of Job, it is not difficult to see how the notion of the Executioner lies in the

What Caused The Great Depression In America
In 2008, an enormous global financial crash had occurred impacting millions of people around
the world. It was, according to many people, the worst financial crash after the Great Depression
in 1930. One of the main causes of both depressions was people s lack of knowledge and
understanding of finance. Becoming financially literate can allow people to be more prosperous in
the future by saving more money and help reduce the chances of falling into a downward spiral
financially. Furthermore, many people do not know the difference between wants and needs, which
was a lesson I learned in third grade. Today, Americans are $900 billion dollars into debt, which
they have to pay throughout their lifetime. This troubles millions of people because

Termite Reaction Lab Report
Termites
Methods:
As an entomology class, consisting of 6 students and a professor, we walked around a rural campus
for approximately 45 minutes in Laurinburg, North Carolina; collecting termites (unsure of exact
scientific name) from underneath decomposing logs from multiple sites within an acre area. With
these samples, and the efforts of Jared Kay (student), who continued the search after class, we had a
combined total of 30 termites including worker and soldier castes to study.
After samples were collected and consolidated to a tuple ware container, we set up the experiment
in the science lab, located at St. Andrews University, Laurinburg. The experiment consisted of a
white sheet of paper, and three writing utensils : rollerball, ball point, and a sharpie. In essence, we
release one termite at a time onto the white paper and draw lines with each of the pens listed above;
to determine which line or lines the termite prefers. Each termite was tested and documented. ...

This test was chosen because we were comparing collected data with what we expected
(Kowalczyk, D.). This allowed us to support our hypothesis: termites will follow the line drawn by
the ball point pen because it is similar to the smell used by termites to mark designated paths, or
prove our null hypothesis which stated that the termites will not follow the ball point pen. By
comparing the categories, how many termites followed a certain pen or how many did not, the
most favorable writing utensil among the collected termites was determined. The significance level
alpha chosen was .05 degrees of

Analysis Of Bad Day By Daniel Poster
Bad Day by Daniel Poster has been a song that has influenced my life since I can remember. It is
really the first song that i remember hearing from my child hood. Every time it came on the
radio me and my mom blasted it. The song goes through the motion in a third person narrative of
someone having a bad day. I remembered during my childhood when I was having a bad day I
would blast this song and it would make me in a better mood. It really begin the foundation of
music for me. This song spoke volumes to me and it would instantly change my mood when I
heard it. Now when I hear it I instantly am drawn to memories of me and my mother blasting it.
It takes me back to my child hood in a way. I remember my favorite lines from the song was, You
re taking one down. You sing a sad song just to turn it around. Its ironic, but sometimes listening
to sad music will brighten my mood. I related a lot with that verse and the rest of the song. This
is why Bad Day by Daniel Poster is part of my attention collection project. Scooby Doo is another
piece of my attention project. Growing up I didn t really like watching a lot of television, but I
do remember loving the show Scooby Doo. I was interested in always trying to figure out the
mystery of who was the person behind all the mischief. I remember when I was sick I would
watch Scooby Doo. It was a big part of my child hood and I also still like to watch it today. It has
taught me that the real monsters are not the made up monsters

Colonialism And Post Colonialism By Ania Loomba
This reflection will discuss the concept of colonialism and post colonialism, with a particular focus
on the impact in planning. Although both concepts are not new, Ania Loomba in her book
Colonialism and Post Colonialism provides a more exhaustive research on the regards. She argues
that colonialism is the physical occupation of territory whereas post colonialismdeals with effect of
colonization on culture and societies. She also expanded the concepts including two new terms
imperialism and Neo colonialism. This is not only a semantic discussion but also a way to raise
awareness of the (over)simplification that many authors have applied to studies in this field.
Despite that there is some recognition that colonialism and post colonialism is important, Loomba
raises some warnings in this regards. Although that most of the countries that were in one point of
their history colonized by a western nation are freed now, they are facing a new type of domination:
the domination through the economic system. In most of the cases some form of capitalism. Most
of the development of the western nation are due to cheap (or free) labor and production factors
that were obtained through violence from the colonized nations. Could it possible for US to
develop the cotton industry without slavery? Could Spain finance every single war without the
Inca s gold? Could Great Britain that industrialized nation without their colonies? So when These

Reasons For The Missouri Compromise
In 1820 the Missouri compromise was formed and the reason it was formed was to satisfy both
Missouri and Maine by admitting both to be states, one Free State and one slave state. The
reasoning behind this was to maintain balance in senate. Missouri wanted to be admitted as a
slave state and it would have disrupted the balance in the senate, so that is why they admitted
Maine as a Free State making the senate balanced again. That was not the only part of the
Compromise, the other part is called the 36В° 30В°N line. Referring to the longitude latitude
coordinates for this boundary line. Basically the purpose of this line was to determine whether new
states, in the Louisiana territory bought from the Louisiana Purchase, would be free states or...

California now wanted to be admitted as a free state. Henery Clay also took part in the making
of the compromise to solve this problem. California was admitted as a free state and the other
southwestern territories would decide whether to be free or not through popular sovereignty.
This influenced stronger fugitive slave laws in the south which eventually graduated to any
southerner accusing any black man or woman being a runaway slave. Many Southerners did not
like the idea of the Missouri compromise because it made laws regarding slavery. The south did
not want slavery to be completely abolished because a large part of the South s economy
depended on slaves working on plantations to produce crops and goods. On the other hand, the
north condemned the compromise acquiescing the expansion of slavery. Eventually, the Missouri
Compromise was deemed unconstitutional in the Supreme Court during the Dredd Scott case.
Henery Clay s talent for composing compromises for the north and south helped keep a balance
between slave and Free states. He very well may have postponed the start of the civil war by many
years. Clay s nationalism in many people s eyes was seen as the savior of the union, keeping it

A Modern Waste Water Containment Facility
As the chief operating officer of Brantford Manufacturing Co, I have enclosed an appropriate case
analysis to effectively resolve the issue with the pollutants disrupting business activity. Two distinct
solutions are provided along with a final recommendation to the board of directors in hopes of
satisfying both parties beyond expectations.
To begin, a corporation is run for the interest of shareholders alone. That is why solution Alpha
proposes that both corporations should operate for the interest of long term share performance. Past
results reveal that BMC is highly successful through its doubling of share value in the past 5 years
through its main revenue source, the Brantford operation. Thus, in order to remain at its current
state, it is crucial that the Brantford factory remains through the construction of a modern waste
water containment facility. The benefits associated with this solution are that it allows the business
to operate in the foreseeable future, potentially generated 5% dividends for shareholders as it once
did in the past. By providing consistent quality products produced by the Canadian workforce,
keeping our promise with the Ontario government. It also resolves a flooding problem within
Brantford, preventing future law suits directed towards BMC from the Brantford community.

Original Writing Of A Long Time Dr. Pepper
For a long time Dr. Pepper has been one of my favorite soft drinks, so when a friend told me
about the new Limited Edition Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper I knew I had to try it.
However, finding it in a store was more complicated than I had originally assumed it would be.
Finally my husband was able to find it in a 2 liter bottle and brought it home for me to try. As
soon as the lid was unscrewed the smell of chocolate was apparent. In fact the only thing I could
smell was chocolate. The smell was so strong that I found it overwhelming. Upon pouring the
Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper into a glass I found the drink to be a very dark hue of red
indicating the use of cherry flavoring. The bubbles were a nice shade of red which gave the
drink and interesting two tone effect as it was being poured. The first drink of Cherry Chocolate
Diet Dr. Pepper was nothing like I expected. I expected to taste more cherry than chocolate but in
fact it was the opposite. The chocolate taste was so prevalent that it was difficult to notice any
other flavors. The chocolate taste was reminiscent of chocolate syrup and had a very bitter
aftertaste. To be honest I didn t really detect any cherry in the taste though there were hints of Dr.
Pepper s spicy taste in the background of the drink. This attempt at a new flavor from Dr. Pepper
was not as good as I had hoped it would be. I would have thought combining three of my favorite
things; chocolate, cherries, and Dr. Pepper would have made

Compare and Contrast Communism, Socialism, and Capitalism
What is communism? Communism is a term used broadly to designate a theory or system of
social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being
ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. It refers to the doctrine which underlines the
revolutionary movement which aims to abolish capitalism and ultimately to establish a society in
which all goods will be socially owned, all economic activates socially planned and controlled, and
in which all distributions will be in accordance with the maxim. German author Emil Ludwig
described the maxim as for each according to his capacity, to each according to his need. (1) It is to

As mentions before socialism is the doctrine that espouses public ownership or control of a major
means of production. It aims to achieve an equitable and efficient distribution of social goods and
greater economic planning then exist under capitalism. Although the central concerns of socialism
appears to be economic its ramifications extend to the moral, social and political realms, in fact
together with nationalism, it is the leading ideological and political movement of the 20th century.
It is considered to be the transitional phase between the capitalism and communism. Thus, you
would find all communists advocating for socialism because it lays the foundations for
communism. It advocates an egalitarian society where everyone shares equal wealth and power.
There is a considerable disagreement over how the distribution should take place. Hence, socialism
can be said to be between extreme capitalism and extreme communism with it being nearer to
communism. Socialism is liberal. More people have say in how the economy works. (5) The basic
principles of contempary socialism have their origin in the economic, social and cultural
transformations of Europe which occurred during the 18th and 19th centuries. Contributing factors
were the Industrial Revolution and the rise of the bourgeois and proletarian classes, the
enlightenment s secular and rationalistic view of men and society, and the democratic demands of
the French Revolution. Social ownership and

Examples Of Foreshadowing In Popular Mechanics
Raymond Carver, author of Popular Mechanics , is a minimalist writer. Using the least amount of
setting and character dynamics Carver makes the audience analyze the small details and actions
that the people in the story do that would be seemingly nothing. The word little at the beginning
of the story is something that a lot of readers do not catch the first time reading this story, but it is
a very important word that plays into the rest of the story. Carver uses small actions to grab the
reader s attention later in the story. Small actions, such as the woman picking up the baby s picture
and the knocked down flower pot, take on larger significances, such as what the state of the
relationship is, in Popular Mechanics .

The readers first impression of the couple is dialogue. Dialogue is a very important element that
contributes to the tone in Popular Mechanics . The dialogue in this story is almost exclusively
short. The first time the reader gets dialogue is after the author sets the scene and initial mood. I
m glad you re leaving! I m glad you re leaving! She said. Do you hear? (277). This automatically
sets an aggressive and tense tone to the story. The reader is never told what the couple is breaking
up over, the only thing the reader gets is that the couple is fighting over keeping the baby. The
couple only really says that they want the baby, that is the majority of the dialogue in the story.
Unspoken dialogue in Popular Mechanics is immensely important to the story. He was in the
bedroom pushing clothes into a suitcase when she came to the door (277). This example shows the
distance between the couple. The woman is constantly backing away and seemingly running away
from the man, especially with the baby. There is finality in the story even though the reader never
knows what the issues are in the relationship, why the man is leaving, or why they are separating.
In this manner, the issue was decided (278). This short sentence sets the final tone of the story.
There is something sinister and aggressive about this sentence. The audience does not know exactly
what the issue is, but with the small

Education at a Year-Round School Essay
Education at a Year Round School
Consider the following situation: A car is driving past the local elementary school on a hot and
sunny July afternoon. As the car approached the school the driver notices some unusual things.
Students are outside with the teachers for recess, and it looks as if school is in session. The school
is on a year round schedule. The driver is intrigued and decides to do some research. From the

Each track of students is staggered throughout the year so that each group is attending the school
at different times. For example, a school that has 1000 students could rotate them into five groups
of 200 students each. Using a multi track schedule also decreases the need for construction of
new schools. According to Rivera, of the Washington Post (2003): when employing a multi track
schedule, 25 percent more students can attend year round schools, without added construction
(para. 8). (9)Additionally, Barber (1996) adds that The Soccoro Independent School District, in
Texas, saved 30 million dollars of tax payer money by using a multi track schedule (para. 4). One
result of overcrowding is a lack of personal assistance.
Remediation
Students are struggling in school and need extra remediation. All too often in schools who run on a
traditional school calendar, students do not receive the help they need until summer school. By that
point it is too late and the student is failing academically. Robert Smotherman, superintendent of
Bardstown City School District in Kentucky (as quoted by Wildavsky (1999)) says, Instead of
waiting until summer school, you catch him [student] in October, and you ve got a shot at getting
him back on track (para. 8). Students who attend year round schools have the benefit of receiving

The Pros And Cons Of Psychoanalysis
In psychology, a psychodynamic theory is a view that explains personality in terms of conscious
and unconscious forces, such as unconscious desires and beliefs. In the early 20th century, Sigmund
Freud proposed a psychodynamic theory according to which personality consists of the id, the
superego, and the ego. The id is responsible for a person s instincts and pleasure seeking, the
superego attempts to obey the rules of authority and society, and the ego mediates between the two
to meet the demands of reality and what a person needs. Psychodynamic theories commonly hold
that childhood experiences shape personality. Such theories are associated with psychoanalysis, a
type of therapy that attempts to reveal unconscious thoughts and desires. The aim of psychoanalysis
therapy is to release represses emotions and experiences and to help the patient develop insight into
his or her unconscious. Patients may suppress their vulnerabilities, motives, tensions, impulses,
guilt, fantasies, and urges. Freud believed that individuals must unravel, experience, and understand
their true, unconscious feelings to understand them. Classical psychoanalysis has become the least
commonly practices form of psychodynamic therapy because of its intense demands on the patients
time and emotions. It is, however, the oldest form of psychodynamic therapy. Psychoanalysis is not
usually considered useful for patients suffering from severe depression or psychotic disorders such
as schizophrenia, people

To the Snake by Denise Leverto
In the poem #8220;To the Snake #8221; the author Denise Levertov use several writing techniques
to portray money and gambling. She uses syntax, sound imagery, color imagery, figurative
language, and symbolism to represent money and gambling. Symbolism is used cleverly throughout
the poem to depict a number of things that would take numerous readings to see. Throughout the
poem the sentences are structured so that every other sentence is indented, with exception to the
first two and the last four. In those sentences not indented the author chose to make every other
sentence shorter so that the ends were uneven. This syntax structure gives the reader the feeling of

The last bit of symbolism comes in the last part of the poem where it says, #8220; #8230;as the
leaves moved and you faded into the pattern of grass and shadows, and I returned smiling and
haunted, to a dark morning. #8221; The leaves moving are symbolic of time passing. As the
seasons change the leaves always go through some kind of change which is why the leader is led
to believe that the leaves represent some portion of time, which could be great or small. The word
fading says to the reader that the money the speaker has gained in gambling is now all gone. The
idea that it faded into the pattern of grass and shadows makes the reader think that the speaker is
going to gamble again and start the cycle over. First lets look at the grass. Grass when cut grows
back every time, under normal conditions. This applied to the gambler means that each time the
money gets short the speaker is going to gamble again to get more money or make their cash
supply grow just like grass. The same principle applies with shadows. The sun comes up and the
shadows began to form. As the sun goes down the shadows leave. This constant growing and
decreasing cycle can once again be applied to the speaker either losing or all their money and then
regaining it by gambling. The part, which discusses how the speaker returns smiling and haunted,
refers to the speaker facing his/her friends. The speaker

Bladder Research Paper
Bladder is one of the organ which is part of the urinary system of body. The major function of the
bladder is to store urine produced in the kidney prior to urination. The urinary system of the body
ensures the removal of wastes and excess fluid from the body in the form of urine. To ensure
normal urination to ensue, all the parts in the urinary system have to work in the right order. The

When Paul goes into the coma like state his mother sits at his bedside and cries when he dies. After
Paul dies Hester wants nothing to do with the money, she even tells Bassett to burn it. The heartless
Hester in the written story never shed a tear when Paul died.
Another major difference between the written story and the movie is the character of the father. In
the short story the author only mentions him briefly. The father went to town to some office. But
though he had good prospects, these prospects never materialized (76). Hester talks about her
husband being unlucky frequently, but the husband is never present. Yet in the movie the father
plays a moderately significant character. Throughout the movie he is included in the dialogue. He
even stands up to Hester a couple of times. Everyday the father goes to work while trying to find a
better job. Everyday when he gets home she asks if he had any luck finding a better job. When he
reply s that he didn t have any luck, she belittles the job he does have. When the father loses the
job he does have Hester and Uncle Oscar both scold him.
The most important difference between the movie and the written story is when the written story
ends the movie continues with ideas, which may not come from the author. The movie continues to
show the viewer Hester s reaction to Paul s death. When Paul dies she orders Bassett to take the
rocking horse out of the house and burn it. When Bassett asks her what

Cuban Economic Crisis
In Latin America, only 8 countries have unemployment insurance, the most economically and
socially developed. The purpose of this insurance is to keep part of the wages of workers during a
recession or economic cycle. But in Cuba, predominant unemployment is not cyclical, but structural
or chronic (or underemployment), so these programs would benefit only an exiguous minority of
the workforce. Cuba unemployment rate is 3.8% Ranked 98th while the United States
unemployment rate is 8.1% Ranked 47th. 2 times more than Cuba ( The United States

should be changed notably, from an economic system based on the exploitation of natural assets to
at least one based on the in depth use of understanding. Cuba s sturdy potential in understanding
extensive development does no longer via itself assure positive outcomes. The strategic mission is
to grow, as different advantages derive from growth. however, new springboards should be found to
grow production. Overall performance is declining in sectors and activities such as tourism that
have been used to growth manufacturing inside the past. Cuba needs to address a number of

terminating the monetary and institutional dualism, developing the precise environment for self

The aim of this assignment is to critically discuss the nursing assessment individualised care and
nursing interventions of the acutely ill patient. The patient discussed developed severe sepsis due
to a urinary tract infection and her condition deteriorated during the recovery process in the nurse s
care. Lovick (2009) defines sepsisas a known or suspected infection accompanied by evidence of

The nurse found Mrs Smith to be tachypnoeic, her respirations were recorded as 24 breaths per
minute it was observed as being fast and it appeared that her accessory muscles were being used.
Mrs Smith s pallor also appeared flushed and her saturations were documented as 93%. The nurse
used the stethoscope to check for wheeze the patient s lungs were clear and chest rise was
symmetrical. Mrs Smith was commenced on 100% oxygen through a non rebreathe mask, oxygen
as an intervention is necessary as Creed Spiers (2010) highlight metabolic demand for oxygen
throughout the body is hugely increased by sepsis and is essential to ensure the supply of oxygen is
maximized .The nurse monitored the patient closely because in her confused state the patient may
try to remove the oxygen mask.
An evaluation of Mrs Smith circulation was the next step carried out by the nurse, as in the
breathing assessment Mrs Smith pallor was noted as being flushed and the patient appeared
confused this could be associated with poor cardiac output. The nurse recorded the patient s
blood pressure using a dinamap it was measured at 88/50, it was then rechecked manually to
ensure accuracy. The pulse was checked manually for rate and rhythm it was recorded as 98 beats
per minute. Capillary refill was checked, was found to be normal.
The next step of the framework is disability. Mrs Smith s conscious level was measured

In The Present Time, The Media Industry Is Considered One
In the present time, the media industry is considered one of the most powerful industrial structures
in the world. The source of its strength lies not only in that huge funds in which they invest, but
also in its extreme influence on individuals, groups, and governments. Media and communication
activities occupy an important place in the economy of most countries. In the media industry, there
are many institutions and companies that compete in the media market. There are different in terms
of the quality of their products, the nature and means, and their size in the market. There are
newspapers and print magazines, radio and TV stations, publishing houses, film production
companies, and Internet sites. All of these institutions are part of... Show more content on

For example, the expenses of radio that broadcast music on the clock is much less than the expenses
of any radio station that rely on innovation and creativity, which prolongs the duration of their
programs. The same for the TV, for example, the cost of a TV program for entertainment is different
from a political program. Also, the duration of programs determines the costs of this program and it
plays a huge role in increasing the expenditure per day. All in all, we cannot ignore the fact that the
high cost of production in the visual and auditory media, especially the production of the original
model or version, leads the production companies to search for advance funding for the production
from advertisers and distributors. On the other hand, the costs of digital media that use the Internet
technology in news dissemination, exchange information, and communication through electronic
devices connected to the Internet are different from traditional media. Its cost is not too high
because of its dependence on modern technology. These means are numerous and advanced, and for
example, but not limited to, the electronic or online news sites and social networking sites. The
majority of revenues in the digital media organizations are advertisements. Today, the media have
become economic institutions. Media production in its final form must make a benefit in the
economic sense. Media institutions have two main objectives. The first relates to the content of the

The Conflict Between North And South Korea During The...
On August 4th, 2015, two South Korean soldiers were injured by a North Korean landmine,
prompting the South for the first time in eleven years to resume anti North propaganda broadcast
via loudspeakers across the border. These conflicts provoked cross border fire and heated rhetoric,
however China and the United Statesare usually at the ready to ease friction between the North and
South. For the past 60 years the flames of the North and South Korean conflict have kept burning
ever since the spark of the Korean War. Although a majority of the fire has been extinguished with
the 1953 armistice ending the Korean War, the flames of the Korean conflict still live, causing
occasional burns and damage between nations. The political influences of the United States
significantly affected the conflict between North and South Koreaduring the Korean War and have
continued to affect this conflict for the past 60 years by means of military involvement, oppression
of communism, and conflicting interests with other nations. The United States military
involvement significantly affected the conflict between North and South Korea during the Korean
War and is still affecting this conflict today by means of overall war efforts and nuclear weapons.
During the events leading towards the Korean War, the United States had one of the strongest
armed forces. The most positive and significant result of the United States military involvement was
the signing of the 1953 armistice that ended the

The Consequences Of Abusive Relationships
I have seen an abusive relationship firsthand, because of my sister and her boyfriend. After my
sister learned he cheated, she still attended the University of Utah to be near him. I could not
comprehend why she took him back. According to her, he promised to never cheat again, but of
course, he did. He was an overpaid, over cocky 16 year old Olympic snowboarder. You could not
blame her, but I did. He controlled her. He made her feel guilty for going to football games and
flying home on the holidays to be with her family. My sister was in an emotionally abusive
relationship but still wanted to be with her abuser. My sister s ignorance disappointed me. I
reassured myself I would never be the girl who let a boy she loved treat her so poorly,... Show more

I began to realize the signs of an abusive relationship, which were blatantly obvious with my
sister. I had to consider why I wanted to stay with Will. Maybe the appeal of a high school
sweetheart turned life partner was too great to not strive for. Maybe I wanted to treat him as
poorly as he treated me and reach some equilibrium. Maybe my low self esteem was because of
the toxic and diminishing things he said to me. After looking at my relationship from the outside I
was embarrassed that I turned into the girl who let a boy dictate her life. I let my emotions and
Will s sweet words coax me into forgiving him, multiple

Diabetes And Its Effects On Diabetes
Diabetes is caused when a person s blood sugar level becomes too high. This is often described
as a lifelong condition. There are two types of Diabetes within the UK; Type 1 Diabetes, where
the body s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that the body uses to produce insulin.
This can develop over weeks or even days. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body doesn t produce
enough insulinor the body s cells do not react to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is far more common than
type 1. Many people can suffer from type 2 Diabetes for many years without realising due to
symptoms being so broad. Many people have blood sugarlevels above the normal rate. This
suggests that there is a risk of developing full diabetes in the future. However, sometimes it is not
high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes. This is known as pre diabetes. It is extremely
important to diagnosis diabetes as soon as possible as it progressively gets worse over time if it s
not treated (NHS.UK, 2016). There are many risk factors that can have the likelihood impact on
developing diabetes, such as in males or females, food preferences, pregnancy, obesity, genetics,
damaging effects and race and ethnicity. These risk factors and their trends will be discussed in
depth later in this essay.
It is very important to the detect diabetes from early stage as high glucose levels can damage the
blood vessels, nerves and organs within the body. Mildly raised glucose levels which don t cause
any symptoms can have

Colonization of America
When the Europeans had discovered America, the possibilities for them were endless. Although
mistakenly discovered, it greatly aroused the curiosity of many European explorers. There were
new opportunities for them to expand, and in more than just one way. Chances to spread religion,
boost their economy, and help themselves politically. As soon as Columbus returned, the pope
issued a decree saying the world itself was an inheritance of Christianity. Spainand Portugal, the
two main Christian powers at the time, set out to spread Christianity all across the world following
the Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494. What better place to start then with the new found land of the
Americas. As soon as the Europeans figured out a reason, they began... Show more content on

This created a large amount of wealth, and more and more markets and ports began to appear across
America. A supply had been created and demand followed, creating economic success. Merchants
and their ships increased and carried materials such as cloth and wool between European and
American ports, and an economic boom with a steady population increase to show for it. This
pushed exploration further in all directions, and they now had plenty of reasons to continue
expansion. From the initial dominance of Christianity to the Protestant Reformation, religious cause
for navigating toward America suited both sides. The political causes were justified in the
monarchies interest in the new land, creating a way to expand their control, but eventually leading
to war among one another. Economically, the Europeans benefited extremely well, and for that
reason alone gave them a strong incentive for colonization in America. The three causes all relate
with one another, and one cause relies heavily on another. The Europeans exploration had not
expected to encounter such an opportunity, but with it came the success that eventually laid out the
plans of America to be something beyond what they thought

  • 4. Courage Vs Moral Courage We find it easier, in these confused times, to admire physical bravery than moral courage the courage of the life of the mind, or of public figures. ( Salmon Rushdie, 2013 ) The question we all need to answer or ask is, do we or do we not? I strongly believe this is true, because we as people of these times don t want to hear about politicians, we like to hear and learn about people being brave, and saving others from harmful events that happens in everyday life. There are no Gandhis, no Lincolns anymore. One man s hero( Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro) is another s villain. We no longer easily agree on what it means to be good, or principled, or brave. ( Salmon Rushdie, 2013 ) My three main reasons for believing this is true is Some Profiles of Courageby Shane Lopez , a video called Physical Courage v.s. Moral Courage 755 x 5 Squat , and my current event on Hurricane Harvey. From ancient to present times, this disposition to act appropriately in situations involving fear and confidence in the face of physical danger seems to be universally valued. • 5. Progessives and The Pure Food and Drug Act Essay At the turn of the century America entered a new age that many historians call the Progressive Era. During this time period, the American Political system changed its view on how America should be brought about. It provided a purification of the American government through direct democracy. This era included many social and political reforms, which were brought about due to monopolies, and trust corporations. One the key pieces of legislation that was a prime example of the progressive era, was the Pure Foodand Drug Act of 1906. This law came about due to muckraking, and also because of public and political interests. Muckraking, such as Upton Sinclair s piece, The Jungle , helped in the timing of the adoption of this legislature.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These articles shifted the popular opinion in favor of a law being made to protect the regulation of food and prescription drug production. There were other measures that formed this bill, but it was the muckraking that pushed for the timing of the bill. One measure was public interests. During this time period many people began to question the quality of their food and how it was being processed. Also locals would write about such instances, such as when Adams wrote about the quality of the machines that came in contact with the meat. This outraged many citizens causing many groups to bombard Congress with their concerns. Also during this time, there were certain advances that labeled the food market during this time one of which is the development of cheaper food products. These cheaper products allowed for more competition between these cheaper brands and the more dominant more expensive brands. However, these cheaper brands did provide stiff competition for the dominant brands, but in this case was not necessarily a good thing. While the cheaper products did save those companies money, it hurt them in the public interest in the long run. This was because there were no regulations and the companies could alter the food and deceive the consumer, because of this. There was also the fear of the unknown, such as what the company has to done the food product and how their food was being handled. This could also lead to consumer being ... The common theme of death is obvious in the stories, The Tell Tale Heart, and The Monkeys Paw, but this explains just a bit of the stories. The people involved are dealing with death for very different reasons, which capture the reader s attention. The Tell Tale Heart and Monkey Paw stories build suspense for the audience because the stories are based around murder and death, which the feelings of fear, reasoning, insanity, sadness, guilt and coping are the effects. A child s parents have made a dire mistake with wishes given to them that cause a tragedy and loss. When two parents are given three wishes from a monkey paw, their first wish was to ask for money, which they got what they wanted, but it cost them their only son. The mistake tore the mother apart, So she wished her son back to life with a second wish, but when the son was at the front door the father wished him to his grave. The death of the son is sad, but the truly suspenseful part is when the son comes back to life with the horrific injuries all because of the wishes made with the monkey paw. If he could only find it before the thing outside got in. • 7. The Important Aspects Of Effective Nursing Communication is one of the most important aspects in effective nursing. For a nurse to be successful, communicating with patients, families, physicians, peers and ancillary departments is necessary. Communication is not only verbal with language, words and sound, but also non verbal. Non verbal behaviors such as touch, facial expressions, eye contactand movement, posture and silence make up more than half of the art of communication(Giger, 2013). The population in the United States is comprised of various cultures with different views of the meaning of non verbal communication. Understanding the views of various cultures can create a positive and healing environment for the patient, as well as increase patient and employee satisfaction (Starr Wallace, 2011). Many patients feel comforted by touch; a hand on the shoulder can help to alleviate fear in the hospital setting. Many cultures from Latin America, Spain and France are extremely affectionate and communicate through touch (Giger, 2013). These cultures often share kisses on the cheek, hugs and handshakes when greeting one another. As a nurse, I have experienced the embrace of a family from Mexico showing appreciation for taking care of their loved one. It is important to understand that other patients with different cultural backgrounds such as those from Germany and England, might find this type of physical contact invasive and inappropriate (Giger, 2013). The acts of the Satan of Job to the Satan in the book of Zechariah is comparable to a superhuman executioner (Stokes). The Satan of Job is the primary attacker of Job, which is cohesive with Stokes understanding; he emphasizes the fact that the Satan viciously afflicts the undeserving Job (Stokes). In addition, the notion of the executioner is brought in by the idea that God verbally limits the amount pain the Satan can use to avoid the death of Job (Stokes). These instructions limiting the Satan s freedom would have been necessary, given that the use of such physical and lethal force would have normally been within the purview of the Executioner s authority (Stokes). She argues that colonialism is the physical occupation of territory whereas post colonialismdeals with effect of colonization on culture and societies. California was admitted as a free state and the other southwestern territories would decide whether to be free or not through popular sovereignty. This influenced stronger fugitive slave laws in the south which eventually graduated to any southerner accusing any black man or woman being a runaway slave. Many Southerners did not like the idea of the Missouri compromise because it made laws regarding slavery. The south did not want slavery to be completely abolished because a large part of the South s economy depended on slaves working on plantations to produce crops and goods. On the other hand, the north condemned the compromise acquiescing the expansion of slavery. Eventually, the Missouri Compromise was deemed unconstitutional in the Supreme Court during the Dredd Scott case. Henery Clay s talent for composing compromises for the north and south helped keep a balance between slave and Free states. He very well may have postponed the start of the civil war by many years. A Modern Waste Water Containment Facility As the chief operating officer of Brantford Manufacturing Co, I have enclosed an appropriate case analysis to effectively resolve the issue with the pollutants disrupting business activity. Two distinct solutions are provided along with a final recommendation to the board of directors in hopes of satisfying both parties beyond expectations. To begin, a corporation is run for the interest of shareholders alone. That is why solution Alpha proposes that both corporations should operate for the interest of long term share performance. Past results reveal that BMC is highly successful through its doubling of share value in the past 5 years through its main revenue source, the Brantford operation. Thus, in order to remain at its current state, it is crucial that the Brantford factory remains through the construction of a modern waste water containment facility. The benefits associated with this solution are that it allows the business to operate in the foreseeable future, potentially generated 5% dividends for shareholders as it once did in the past. By providing consistent quality products produced by the Canadian workforce, keeping our promise with the Ontario government. It also resolves a flooding problem within Brantford, preventing future law suits directed towards BMC from the Brantford community. Original Writing Of A Long Time Dr. Pepper For a long time Dr. Pepper has been one of my favorite soft drinks, so when a friend told me about the new Limited Edition Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper I knew I had to try it. However, finding it in a store was more complicated than I had originally assumed it would be. Finally my husband was able to find it in a 2 liter bottle and brought it home for me to try. As soon as the lid was unscrewed the smell of chocolate was apparent. In fact the only thing I could smell was chocolate. The smell was so strong that I found it overwhelming. Upon pouring the Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper into a glass I found the drink to be a very dark hue of red indicating the use of cherry flavoring. The bubbles were a nice shade of red which gave the drink and interesting two tone effect as it was being poured. The first drink of Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper was nothing like I expected. I expected to taste more cherry than chocolate but in fact it was the opposite. The chocolate taste was so prevalent that it was difficult to notice any other flavors. The chocolate taste was reminiscent of chocolate syrup and had a very bitter aftertaste. To be honest I didn t really detect any cherry in the taste though there were hints of Dr. Pepper s spicy taste in the background of the drink. This attempt at a new flavor from Dr. Pepper was not as good as I had hoped it would be. Communism is a term used broadly to designate a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. It refers to the doctrine which underlines the revolutionary movement which aims to abolish capitalism and ultimately to establish a society in which all goods will be socially owned, all economic activates socially planned and controlled, and in which all distributions will be in accordance with the maxim. It is considered to be the transitional phase between the capitalism and communism. Thus, you would find all communists advocating for socialism because it lays the foundations for communism. The word little at the beginning of the story is something that a lot of readers do not catch the first time reading this story, but it is a very important word that plays into the rest of the story. Dialogue is a very important element that contributes to the tone in Popular Mechanics . The dialogue in this story is almost exclusively short. The first time the reader gets dialogue is after the author sets the scene and initial mood. I m glad you re leaving! I m glad you re leaving! She said. Do you hear? (277). This automatically sets an aggressive and tense tone to the story. The reader is never told what the couple is breaking up over, the only thing the reader gets is that the couple is fighting over keeping the baby. The couple only really says that they want the baby, that is the majority of the dialogue in the story. Unspoken dialogue in Popular Mechanics is immensely important to the story. He was in the bedroom pushing clothes into a suitcase when she came to the door (277). This example shows the distance between the couple. The woman is constantly backing away and seemingly running away from the man, especially with the baby. There is finality in the story even though the reader never knows what the issues are in the relationship, why the man is leaving, or why they are separating. In this manner, the issue was decided (278). This short sentence sets the final tone of the story. There is something sinister and aggressive about this sentence. The Pros And Cons Of Psychoanalysis In psychology, a psychodynamic theory is a view that explains personality in terms of conscious and unconscious forces, such as unconscious desires and beliefs. In the early 20th century, Sigmund Freud proposed a psychodynamic theory according to which personality consists of the id, the superego, and the ego. Symbolism is used cleverly throughout the poem to depict a number of things that would take numerous readings to see. Throughout the poem the sentences are structured so that every other sentence is indented, with exception to the first two and the last four. As the seasons change the leaves always go through some kind of change which is why the leader is led to believe that the leaves represent some portion of time, which could be great or small. The word fading says to the reader that the money the speaker has gained in gambling is now all gone. The idea that it faded into the pattern of grass and shadows makes the reader think that the speaker is going to gamble again and start the cycle over. First lets look at the grass. Grass when cut grows back every time, under normal conditions. This applied to the gambler means that each time the money gets short the speaker is going to gamble again to get more money or make their cash supply grow just like grass. The same principle applies with shadows. The sun comes up and the shadows began to form. As the sun goes down the shadows leave. This constant growing and decreasing cycle can once again be applied to the speaker either losing or all their money and then regaining it by gambling. • 46. The Consequences Of Abusive Relationships I have seen an abusive relationship firsthand, because of my sister and her boyfriend. After my sister learned he cheated, she still attended the University of Utah to be near him. I could not comprehend why she took him back. According to her, he promised to never cheat again, but of course, he did. He was an overpaid, over cocky 16 year old Olympic snowboarder. You could not blame her, but I did. He controlled her. He made her feel guilty for going to football games and flying home on the holidays to be with her family. My sister was in an emotionally abusive relationship but still wanted to be with her abuser. My sister s ignorance disappointed me. I reassured myself I would never be the girl who let a boy she loved treat her so poorly,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I began to realize the signs of an abusive relationship, which were blatantly obvious with my sister. I had to consider why I wanted to stay with Will. Maybe the appeal of a high school sweetheart turned life partner was too great to not strive for. Maybe I wanted to treat him as poorly as he treated me and reach some equilibrium. Maybe my low self esteem was because of the toxic and diminishing things he said to me. After looking at my relationship from the outside I was embarrassed that I turned into the girl who let a boy dictate her life. I let my emotions and Will s sweet words coax me into forgiving him, multiple ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Diabetes And Its Effects On Diabetes Diabetes is caused when a person s blood sugar level becomes too high. This is often described as a lifelong condition. There are two types of Diabetes within the UK; Type 1 Diabetes, where the body s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that the body uses to produce insulin. This can develop over weeks or even days. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body doesn t produce enough insulinor the body s cells do not react to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is far more common than type 1. Many people can suffer from type 2 Diabetes for many years without realising due to symptoms being so broad. Many people have blood sugarlevels above the normal rate. This suggests that there is a risk of developing full diabetes in the future. However, sometimes it is not high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes. This is known as pre diabetes. It is extremely important to diagnosis diabetes as soon as possible as it progressively gets worse over time if it s not treated (NHS.UK, 2016). There are many risk factors that can have the likelihood impact on developing diabetes, such as in males or females, food preferences, pregnancy, obesity, genetics, damaging effects and race and ethnicity. These risk factors and their trends will be discussed in depth later in this essay. It is very important to the detect diabetes from early stage as high glucose levels can damage the blood vessels, nerves and organs within the body. • 48. Colonization of America When the Europeans had discovered America, the possibilities for them were endless. Although mistakenly discovered, it greatly aroused the curiosity of many European explorers. There were new opportunities for them to expand, and in more than just one way. Chances to spread religion, boost their economy, and help themselves politically. As soon as Columbus returned, the pope issued a decree saying the world itself was an inheritance of Christianity. Spainand Portugal, the two main Christian powers at the time, set out to spread Christianity all across the world following the Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494. What better place to start then with the new found land of the Americas. As soon as the Europeans figured out a reason, they began... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This created a large amount of wealth, and more and more markets and ports began to appear across America. A supply had been created and demand followed, creating economic success. Merchants and their ships increased and carried materials such as cloth and wool between European and American ports, and an economic boom with a steady population increase to show for it. This pushed exploration further in all directions, and they now had plenty of reasons to continue expansion. From the initial dominance of Christianity to the Protestant Reformation, religious cause for navigating toward America suited both sides. The political causes were justified in the monarchies interest in the new land, creating a way to expand their control, but eventually leading to war among one another. Economically, the Europeans benefited extremely well, and for that reason alone gave them a strong incentive for colonization in America. The three causes all relate with one another, and one cause relies heavily on another. The Europeans exploration had not expected to encounter such an opportunity, but with it came the success that eventually laid out the plans of America to be something beyond what they thought ...
