Impressionism And Impressionism In Art
Impressionism is an art movement which was developed in Paris in the 1860s which continued to the
early twentieth century. In impressionism, artists have captures beautiful moments just like while
taking a photo. Impressionist paintings were almost to the nature showing the environment. Paintings
were colourful, mixture of colours, showing different tones of colour were applied to artworks. Here
are some of the famous Impressionist artist : Edouard Manet, Camille Pissaro, Edgar Degas, Alfred
Sisley, Claude monet, Berthe Morisot and Pierre Auguste Renoir.
Similarly to Realism, Impressionism has rarely replied to the political events. The destructive effect of
France s defeat in the Franco Prussian war in the 1871 had almost no impact on the impressionist.
However, Impressionist painters were in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Maintaining Agricultural Farmlands for the World s Growing...
As the world population continues to rise, there are growing concerns for maintaining agricultural
farmlands, especially in developing countries with drought and famine. This has also led to many
shortages of food, due to high demand because of the increasing population. Demographists worry
that if this growing issue continues to hurt food consumption of povertized countries, than there will
be more deaths because the population is increasing, but the food levels are staying the same, or even
decreasing. Some of these demographists believe that this is occurring, because the developed
countries are intaking too much food. Others believe that this is because of the overpopulated
countries, and the fact that they are in higher need for food because of their population. Another
problem that arises within this is deforestation. Deforestation is a part of this growing problem
because when massive woodlands are cut down, the lands become dry and bodies of water in or
around the land dry up, making crops unsuitable for crop growth and crop rotation, leading to the
lands to turn into non arable lands. This is also known as desertification. This correlates with
population growth because if lands become non arable, then crops won t grow there, leading to
starvation in developing countries with higher population needs and demands. Although some people
are taking action for the problems that this issue has given us, we re still nowhere near solving the
problem. This issue is very

The Deployment Of Nfc Payment
A large number of Increased NFC handset availability advanced the deployment of NFC payment as it
clearly improves the value offered for merchants that will not only consider NFC as another payment
system but also a new communication channel to the consumers. Thus NFC based payment becomes
very popular in most of the developed countries including Poland, Japan, France, UK, USA, South
Korea, Singapore, Turkey and the Netherlands, due to availability of NFC based mobile device, easy
access and services .But Consumers trust in the NFC based payment can be eroded by misleading the
consumer with corrupted tag data, malware attack leading to serious economic impacts to both
consumers and merchants. Thus a secure NFC based payment against relay attack, eavesdropping,
spoofing, data modification or corruption is a must.
1.Introduction:
NFC (Near Field Communication) and mobile payments are two areas that has become very popular
and doubled their quantity index research measured by Google Trends [1]. NFC is a communication
technology which is Wireless already available in some mobile phones, and more are announced for
short, and mobile payments is a service whose use is expected to grow at a very fast speed in the
coming years. It is supposed to be the NFC technology will bring mobile payments to the stack due to
security attacks. NFC can be useful in a protocol to perform mobile payments in days today. For this, a

Socio-American Critical Thinking
To start off this article, we are going to look over a group of different writings and writers in different
positions and fields of study. When talking about academic freedom people have trouble finding the
boundaries, which is not to say those boundaries are always pressed or necessarily stretched. It can be
a rocky path to decide how to express your ideas and thoughts, these days there are so many guides,
methods, styles and types of writing that it can even be confusing at times.
What does the liberty to express free thinking ideas, a person s rights of writing and speech, and the
pursuit of truth really mean? We can t all be in each other s heads, hearing the thoughts as the gears
grind them out, and everyone thinks differently so this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Covering some common subjects is becoming harder and harder in tenure because of the social and
economic nature of the topic. In many of these writings there has been examples of ways to properly
agree and disagree with something and avoid being confrontational and continue to be professional.
How to fit design elements into a paper in the proper way is extremely important and is directly linked
to the best practices for writing a constructive paper, this ties in well with freedom of speech. If an
argument is not compiled and constructed properly, it will most likely be combated with another
greater argument and could possibly offend someone. At the university level problem solving and
thinking of ways to enhance solutions need to be derived out of useful ideas, the more time people
spend fighting about things.
Behavior due to policy change involving academic freedom causes conflict, also differing regulations
and policies cause question and creates thinking and expression that in most cases is not ideal. The
issue of academic freedom is multifaceted and is a very broad subject with many sub topics, many
writers, students or professors are unjustly treated because of an expression or belief they have

Essay Thucydides Historical Method
Thucydides indicates that people are indiscriminate about the stories or accounts they are told. They
do not put them to the test. This is the case even with accounts that deal with their own country.
Thucydides uses the example of the murder of Hipparchus. The Athenians believe that Hipparchus
was a tyrant and was the ruler when he was killed by Harmodius and Aristogeiton. The fact of the
matter is, Thucydides says, that it was Hipparchus older brother Hippias who was in power, not
Hipparchus. Hippias was the eldest son of Pisistratus, so he was the ruler of Athens, not Hippias, who
was younger, and not Thessalus, the third son of Pisistratus, who was also younger than Hippias. As
for Harmodius and Aristogeiton, they originally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses two examples to illustrate this, both of which deal with the Lacedaemonian kings. When
Thucydides uses the phrase Other Greeks , it is possible that he is referring to Greeks in general and to
the popular beliefs of the time, or he could be referring to Herodotus, who provided erroneous
information about Lacedaemonian kings. The misconceptions that Thucydides refers to concerning the
Lacedaemonian kings are, first, that the Lacedaemonian kings have two votes each, and that they have
a military unit called `Pitante never existed. Herodotus, in his account, said that the Spartan kings had
two votes each and he also referred to the Pitante unit. So Herodotus spread false information, and
could very well be the Other Greeks who have wrong opinions that Thucydides refers to. The fact that
these false beliefs are accepted as truth shows, according to Thucydides, how ready people are to
believe the first things that come to hand. Thucydides next attacks the poets for spreading these false
beliefs in their songs, and the prose writers, who have also spread these false beliefs in their works. In
their songs, the poets have embellished much, Thucydides says, and what the prose writers have
hammered together aims more to delight the ear than to be true (Thucydides, 12). Thucydides notes
that it is not possible to test the accounts of the poets

The Book Of Duchess Essay
Metaphorically using the game of chess to describe the loss of a loved one in The Book of Duchess,
Chaucer argues that love is nothing but a game and it all depends on how well you play it. We only see
the mention of a chess twice in this poem, in the beginning For me thoughte it better pley, Than pleyen

therefore, we get a sense that maybe our dreamer isn t someone who either understands the game or

Chaucer mentions the man in black. The man in black has lost his lady love to fortune, in a game of

The Legacy Of George Smith Patton
George Smith Patton was born on November 11, 1885 in San Gabriel, California, the relative of a
Confederate Common War veteran. Dyslexic as a kid, he was guided at home until the age of 12
instead of go to government funded school. In any case, Patton needed to be a warrior more than
whatever else, and he endeavored to conquer his dyslexia. His endeavors were remunerated in 1903
when he picked up acknowledgement into the Virginia Military Foundation. After a year of study,
Patton was admitted to the U.S. Military Foundation at West Point, however insufficiencies in science
postponed his graduation until 1909. He was then dispatched a second lieutenant of rangers and in
1912, turned into the first American to take an interest in the Olympic pentathlon in Stockholm.
General Patton, driven a campaign over a mainland to free the universe of the Nazi controls that
undermined it. Patton went to the U.S. Military and graduated in 1909. After his graduation, General
Patton joined the cavalry where he served in World War I. Patton put in stock in diligent work and an
intense mental perspective from his men. Patton got his first tastes of activity in quest for Mexico s
unbelievable Poncho Villa in 1916 with the U.S. Mounted force. He was later exchanged to the new
defensively covered branch as the first U.S. Officer of Armor. In the middle of World War I, General
Patton was struck by automatic weapon shoot and was genuinely injured, barely getting away from a
conceivable demise.

The Life Of A Woman, By Jamaica Kincaid
Lucy, the eponymous character of Jamaica Kincaid s second novel, moves from Antigua to New York
not in an arbitrary move, but in a calculated effort to explore her latent queer sexuality and gradually
escape the gendered labor of her homeland. By working as an au pair for an upper class white woman
named Mariah, Lucy trades birthing labor for domestic labor in a move that initially seems lateral, but
serves as a potential gateway to freedom from caretaking that would have been inaccessible in
Antigua. Unbridled from her mother, the American Lucy has opportunities to explore her sexuality
without being deemed promiscuous, and has the ability to live with a woman she can have intimate
relations with. Lucy has continuously disobeyed the performative prescriptions of heteronormativity
in her life, but, as explained by the work of Rosamund King, her transgressions in Antigua are
rendered invisible by a culture that believes women are incapable of sexual agency. America
acknowledges Lucy s transgressions against heteronormativity, which lets her explore sexuality and
gradually escape the obligations of gendered work. Lucy is escaping the obligations delineated by
female performance. Lucy does not begin to experiment or play with queerness and gender in
America, but remains unassimilated to beauty standards with the same intensity she had in Antigua.
During her upbringing, her gender nonconforming behaviors and ideology went ignored in Antigua
because of the common misconception that females are incapable of having sexual agency,
intelligence, or usefulness beyond sustenence work and caretaking within the household (King). Lucy
is allowed to kiss girls, like her best friend from school, and her does not fret over failing to enjoy acts
of intimacy with males. Heteronormativity is not enforced by expectations of female and male
pairings, but instead by the gendered division of labor. According to Nancy Hartsock s Feminist
Standpoint, this tradition of forcing females into sustenance work should create a collective caregiver
essence to women, and Lucy proves the antithesis. Akash Nichols, in his essay Straight Growth and
the Imperial Alternative: Queer Reading Jamaica Kincaid, delves into how 20th century and, as

Abstract:
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is major public health problem. SCD continues to be one of the leading
causes of mortality worldwide, with an annual incidence estimated at 250000 to 300000 in the United
States and with the vast majority occurring in the setting of coronary disease and other cardiac events.
I performed the systematic review of journal article ranging from 2006 to 2016 with appropriate
information related to sudden cardiac death and related consequences, the context of problem and
related solution. SCD is so immediate that detailed study should be performed to understand and to
review in better depth with screening evaluation and permanent treatment.
Objective is to summarize published sudden cardiac death information literature and article with valid
information and to understand extend of issue with available options for solution.
Conclusion: The sudden cardiac death is tragic event to happen. Many research had been published
and new content comes nearly every year, but existing research related to it is weak. Future research
efforts should be directed for developing new policy changes and social aspect of this situation. The

The Pros And Cons Of Buddhism Being Vegetarian
Along with the pros and cons of a Buddhist being vegetarian, there are a lot of differences among
philosophy and region. To begin with, it s been alleged that the Buddha ate meat. This is a fairly well
attested fact. The issue of vegetarianism is addressed a few times in the Suttas, notably the Jivaka
Sutta of the Majjhima Nikaya. The Buddha consistently affirmed that monastics (monks) were
permitted to eat meat, as long as it was not killed intentionally for them. This goes back to the point of
kamma and intentionality. There are numerous passages in the Vinaya (regulatory framework monastic
community) that refer to the Buddha or the monastics eating meat. Meat is also regularly mentioned as
one of the standard foods. For these reasons, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This position sits squarely within a straightforward application of the law of kamma. Kamma simply
understood as intention. Eating meat involves no intention to do harm, because the harm has already
been done. As there is no intention, there is no kamma. As there is no kamma, there is no ethical
problem. However, not all see it this way. The situation in Mahayana is more complicated.
Mahayanists, especially in East Asia, embrace vegetarianism, often as a temporary measure for
religious events (Silk, 2016). Although the monastics are typically vegetarian all the time, special
occasions are cause for celebration. The motivation is, at least in part, an expression of the greater
emphasis on compassion in Mahayana. In practice, however, Mahayanists often adopt vegetarianism
(as do Hindus) as a rite of purification. This is done because of the toxins and purity of mind and body
talked about earlier in the essay. This is despite such texts as the Amagandha Sutta of the Sutta Nipata,
where the Buddha insists that eating meat is not a source of spiritual impurity (Silk, 2016). However
Tibetan monastics usually eat meat. Vegetarianism and Buddhism seems to vary depending on both
how one interprets an ancient text, as well as where one is located and the type of Buddhist they

Romeo And Juliet Foolishness Quotes
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most tragic and depressing stories ever told. If you take the story from
a different perspective and really think through some of the choices that were made leading up to their
death you would see that Romeo and Juliet made some foolish decisions that caused their deaths.
Foolishness is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he went to the Capulet party and
kissed Juliet, after the party he went to Juliet s balcony and talked to her until the morning, and he also
took Juliet s virginity. Kissing Juliet was one of the most foolish decision Romeo had made. R: Then
move not while my prayer s effect I take. Thus from my lips, by thine my sin is purged. J: Then have
my lips the sin that they have took. R: Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged! Give me my sin

thou art, if any of my kingsmen find thee here (2.2.58 65). In these lines Juliet finds out Romeo
trespassed onto the Capulet land beneath her balcony. This is being foolish because he could have
been caught trespassing but he didn t care because he wanted to see Juliet since he was madly in love
with her. Taking Juliet s virginity was another foolish decision Romeo made. Go before, nurse.
Commend me to thy lady, and bid her hasten all the house to bed, which heavy sorrow makes them apt
unto (3.3.155 157). In these lines Friar basically tells Romeo to take juliet s virginity to seal the
marriage and make the marriage confirmed. Romeo was foolish in this because he agreed to take her

Differences Between The Tempest Play And Movie
The Tempest Play v. Movie
The play The Tempest is a rather difficult play to follow in its written format. You have to carefully
keep track of who is talking to have a good understanding of what is occurring in the play itself. Just
like with movies it is easier to understand a play that is being portrayed by actors on stage because you
have the ability to view who is speaking with visual cues. Comparing the written second scene in Act
One of The Tempest written by William Shakespeare and the movie from 2010 which was directed by
Julie Taymor there are some differences like lines being removed, lines being shifted, and overall
easiness to follow.
During Act One, Scene Two of the play we start out by noticing that one of the main characters,
Prospero, has had a gender swap, which changes the name to Propsera throughout the play. Starting
out that is the only major difference that you can see, however the first line difference that has been
skipped occurs when Miranda says, Wherefore did they not that hour destroy us , which was
completely skipped in the movie adaptation (Shakespeare, 12). In some instances, the director might
have opted to make the movie a little bit more children friendly by removing lines from Ferdinand
(page 24 line 448) talking about Miranda s virginity (00:26:48 00:26:59). Some interpretations of the
play by the actors and or directors that make the movie easier to follow is when Ferdinand draws his
sword, which he does after Prospera raises her

Compare And Contrast Essay Good Vs Evil
Good vs. Evil There are numerous things that citizens of this world are afraid of. A huge example is
public speaking. Getting up in front of many peers, friends, advisors, and role models can intimidate,
frighten, or discourage us in many different ways. The fear that others will judge or think less of us is
scary and can be a gigantic blow to our pride. Often times, feelings of anxiety join the scene, making
the situation as terrible as it can possibly be. Many of these feelings that have been mentioned
contribute to the reason why humans like to stay in their comfort zones and do the things that they
have always done, for fear that people may judge them, or they might fail. Another common fear that
people have is dying. For many religiously active people, this topic is the least of their worries, but for
others, they can t help but worry about what will become of them once they leave this earth. Will they
be remembered for how amazing and confident they were? Will people feel a rush of relief and

During funerals, relatives and close friends of the person who has perished usually speak about or
discuss the things that they accomplished in their lives. They focus on the highs in their life and the
great moments that took place during their peaks. For example, if a teenager died in an unexpected car
accident, their mom would undoubtedly talk about how awesome a child they were, how blessed they
were as a parent, and how much they re going to miss them in the future. The sins that we have
committed in our lives are forgotten and people tend to focus on the bright sides of our lives. Part of
the reason for this is empathy, and the fact that, as humans, we have all sinned at some point in our
lives or another. Nonetheless, it cannot be denied that the deaths of modern people are remembered in

New Greatest Generation
The New Greatest Generation 1. They are the most threatening and exciting generation since the Baby
Boomers brought about social revolution, not because they re to take over the Establishment but they
re growing up without one. (p.28, 2nd column) I do not agree with this quote at all. There has always
been an establishment but us millennials do not use it. We are far more less social then any previous
generation in existance. We tend to avoid people in public unless we really have too. We hide behide
technology and for that we are not really able communicate in the real world. Without our technology
we would not be able to function socially. 2. They have less civic engagement and lower political
participation than any previous group. (p.28, 2nd column) Without a doubt in my mind I one hunderd
percent agree that this quotation is correct. Millennials could care less about whats going on in our
government. From my experience, millenials only care for themselves, they don t care whats going on
around them. They don t care at a point where they are considering voting for Trump for laughs and

In his novel The Go Between L.P Hartley s writes that the past is a foreign country ; they do things
differently . Even though I agree to a point with Hartley I cannot fully agree because in order for us to
move forward we must use the past as an important learning experience for us. Due to this I
recommend that more emphasis be placed on history in schools and more reforms be made in the
curriculum . The following suggestions are important for the realization of these reforms for example,
more importance should be placed on lessons in school through early learning i.e. at the early stages of
school, teaching should involve more documentary evidence and finally educational excursions should
be organized more frequently .

Research Paper On Software Modeling
This research paper will be focus on different software modeling techniques. Software modeling is
concerned with development process of software. Software modeling is central part of almost all
activities that took place in software development. These models help us to envision a system
according to our requirement by describing the structure and behavior of the system. There are three
basic techniques of software modeling; object oriented modeling, dynamic modeling and functional
modeling. Object oriented modeling concept start in 1990s, its basic building block is object that is the
instant of any class, and here class is a template containing attributes and methods of objects. Classes
and their relationships are present in class diagram. As a class have many type of relations with other

The following is an evaluation and critical analysis of a 25 minute counselling session, titled Travel

used as this involves congruence or genuineness, empathy and unconditional positive regard (Geldard
Geldard, 2012) an analysis of the interview in respect to these aspects is discussed .This structure of
the interview was influenced by a review of different counselling microskills and was loosely based
on the Counselling Interview Rating Form (CIRF) developed by (Russel Chapine Shermin, 2000)
which breaks a counselling session into the 5 phases of: opening, exploration, the action phase,
problem solving and Closing. A partnership model was used in the interview and is evaluated using
the characteristics of partnership defined by Davis, (2002). As Barnes and Rowe (2013) define
partnership as a strengthening and enabling process the interview is also analysed for these
characteristics The interview took place at my home at a mutually convenient time, so we were more
comfortable we sat facing slightly offset to each other with just the corner of the table between us as
we each had a cup of tea. I would consider offering a client something to drink in the future it seemed

Questions On Options And Options
③ Options
Options are traded both on exchanges and in the over the counter market. There are two types of
option which are call option, giving the holder the right to buy the underlying asset by a certain date
for a certain price, and put option, giving the holder the right to sell the underlying asset by a certain
date for a certain price, while both the counter parties only have obligations (usually the speculators).
Apart from that, depending on the expiration date, American options can be exercised at any time up

④ Swaps
Swaps now occupy a position of central importance in over the counter derivatives market. The
statistics produced by the Bank for International Settlements show that about 58.5% of all over the
counter derivatives are interest rate swaps and a further 4% are currency swaps. A swap is an over the
counter agreement between two parties to exchange cash flows in the future. The agreement defines
the dates when the cash flows are to be paid and the way in which they are to be calculated. Usually
the calculation of the cash flows involves the future value of an interest rate, an exchange rate, or
other market variable. The most popular (plain vanilla) interest rate swap is one where LIBOR is
exchanged for a floating rate of interest. In this swap, one party agrees to pay the other party interest at
a fixed rate on a notional principal for a number of years. In return, it receives interest at a floating
rate on the same notional principal for the same period of time. Principal amounts are not usually
exchanged in the interest rate swap.
Take another popular swap as an interpretation for hedging and speculation, which is currency swap.
In its simplest form, this involves paying interest on a principal amount in one currency and receiving
interest on a principal in another currency.

How Did David Hume Exist
David Hume was a Scottish philosopher, and a historian , born on April 26th, 1711 at Edinburgh,
Scotland . Hume was born in a family of lawyers and Politicians. Hume s father who passed away
when David was an infant worked as a lawyer, and his grandfather was the president of the college of
justice. David was raised with his sister and elder brother by his mother who was a Christian Calvinist
devoted to her religion and beliefs . David excelled in the standard course of education an attended
University at the age of 12 which was exceptional at his time. David s family planed for him to take

towards philosophy, and general learning. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David being a skeptic doubted a lot of concepts, one of these concepts was the concept of personal
identity. Hume believed that there is no such thing as a personal identity that resembles the core of
people s true selves that is unchangeable throughout life. Hume believed that people s identities are
bundles of different properties and perceptions, and it is impossible to picture someone without these
properties, same way it is impossible to picture the sun without light. Hume argues that the reason
why most people believe that personal identity is unchangeable is the misinterpretation of self
awareness, Hume believes that humans could never be truly aware of themselves, but through
experience using their senses and imagination they might think that they are truly aware of
themselves, but they are only aware of their surroundings. Therefore, it would be sound to conclude
that Hume s theory of the self is a critical aspect of David Hume s philosophy as it helps shape his

Mangroves Essay
Methods and Predicted Outcomes for mangroves
Temporary plots are established for the purpose of above ground pool and soil carbon measurements.
The objects are for a single measurement of forest composition, structure and carbon pools. In this
study, a sampling design was adopted from Kauffman and Donato(2012)/Murdiyarso et al(2009) to
describe composition, biomass and ecosystem carbon pools. To assess the carbon stocks, mangrove
ecosystems were divided into two parts; above ground and below ground components. In each
sampled forest ecosystem, a transect arranged perpendicular from the river or coast shoreline was
established with no a priori knowledge of forest composition or structure. Six plots were established
along the transects at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the present study, six samples per site, with multiple depths collected at each point will be
conducted. It is recommended that when mangrove soils are deeper than 1m, at least the top 100cm
will be sampled(Kauffman and Donato 2012). At the sampling locations, organic matter will be
removed from the soil surface. And then PVC pipe will be steadily inserted vertically into the soil
until the top of the sampler was levelled with the soil surface. Then, the soil will be sampled at depths
of 0 15cm, 15 30cm, 30 50cm and 50 100cm in the present study. During sampling, to archive the
core, take a GPS recording of coring site and assign the site a unique label then photograph the entire
core from top to bottom and record changes that occur with depth. Photos can be taken in the field
once the core will be recovered and one of the splits will be cleaned. Extend a tape measure along the
core starting at the top end and document the split from top to bottom (surface to depth) using detailed
photographs of core image. Be sure to include the tap measure in these images of the core. Place a
label with the core ID so that is appears in all photographs and identifies which direction is the top and
bottom of the core and use a polarizing filter to limit the light reflected off the wet surface of the core.

The most accurate, and sometimes most practical, technique for subsampling is to determine the bulk

Narrative Essay On Middle School Basketball
It all began on November 3, 2015 during my first middle school basketball tournament. The grey brick

How Aristarchus Made A Large Jump From Terrestrial...
How Aristarchus made a large jump from terrestrial measurements of scale to the celestial is truly
impressive. Without any measures of the sizes of and distances to any celestial objects, Aristarchus
was able to measure both for the Moon. He was able to use something he knew about the Earth and a
bit of smart geometry to deduce the size of the Earth s shadow at the distance of the Moon. By
watching the Moon go through the Earth s shadow which is formally known as a lunar eclipse,
Aristarchus could determine the ratio between the size of the shadow at the distance to the Moon and
the size of the Moon.
Aristarchus knew that on average two times a year, the surface of the full Moon becomes dark for a
period ranging up to around two hours. It was reasoned that during these times, the Moon was passing
through the shadow cast by the Earth, known as a lunar eclipse. The eclipse would only occur during
the full Moon because that s the time when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the
Sun. Aristarchus realized that the longest lunar eclipses must occur when the Moon passes right
through the center of the Earth s shadow, and so that the angular size of the Earth s shadow could be
measured by noting the difference in the position of the Moon before and after the eclipse. He could
then compare this angular size to the angular size of the Moon to get the ratio between them. He used
the formula Now by using the formula.
The moon could fit into earth roughly

Igor Stravinsky Essay
Igor Stravinsky
In the passage by Igor Stravinsky, he uses not only comparison and contrast, but also language to
convey his point of view about the conductors of the time and their extreme egotism. Stravinsky
believes that conductors exploit the music for their own personal gain, so rather, he looks on them in a
negative light.
To show his aggravation and irritation, Stravinsky uses the rhetorical device of comparison and
contrast to convey his opinion of conductors. He compares the great conductors to great actors in that
[they] are unable to play anything but themselves . Moreover, being unable to adapt, they have to
adapt the work to themselves, not themselves to the work, which is obviously offending to a notable
composer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This contrasts the motives of the composer and the conductor, which should be to keep the integrity of
the piece of music, but as mentioned above, Stravinsky believes that the conductor s are usually for
personal gain.
The negative point of view that Stravinsky has for the conductors is also revealed through the use of
language, literal and figurative language. Stravinsky uses both literal and figurative language because
they have the power to portray reality. In this piece, the word great is used sarcastically to show the
contrast between what the conductors think of themselves and what he thinks of them. They both are
reality, but reality to two different people, so using great in a sarcastic manner allows for both
Stravinsky s and the conductors interpretations of reality. In this case, the denotation and the
connotation are different, making them important. Here the denotation of the word great is wonderful,
majestic, and important, while the connotation is the exact opposite, ignoble, insignificant, and
inferior. Literal language tells the apparent truth, while figurative language tells the apparent truth it
also tells the indirect truth, making language important in this piece.
In conclusion, Stravinsky airs his annoyance and irritation of

Opium In China In The Late 19th Century
Around the early 19th century, China began to have many issues with a drug called opium. British
merchants longed for Chinese goods, but the Chinese did not want many of the goods that they had.
This situation caused a trade imbalance to occur between China and Britain (3). In order to pay for the
Chinese luxuries that they wanted, the British increased the production of opium in India and began to
trade Bengal opium in China (2). The Chinese empire objected to the opium trade many times, but the
demand for opium kept increasing (2). The drug caused many problems in China because much of the
population became addicted and many economic issues occurred (2). In 1839, Commissioner Lin

Queen Victoria to command her merchants to obey the Chinese laws and pleaded for her to stop the

Evidence has been found of a shift among a wider group of mainline Protestants away from the
Republicans towards the Democratic Party. As far as the reason for this mobility is considered, the
Civil Rights Movement is sure to have contributed to it with its calls for social reforms. Consequently,
the more liberal Protestants became more attracted to the Democrats, while the more conservative
ones remained in or joined the Republicans. Regarding the Catholics, a considerable percentage of
them is of Latin American origin. The Catholic citizens, many of them deeply religious, belong to the
lower social classes, although some of them have become more affluent recently. Those who has
moved up on the social ladder, are more likely to make inroads into the Republican Party, since they
no longer strive for social reforms.
Relating this religious and ethnical affiliation to civic participation, it is remarkable to note that the
extent to which someone is involved in civic life may be dependent on whether they have acquired the
civic skills through their assiciational memberships and, in particular, from their experience in church.
It is even held that it is only religious institutions that play a major role in providing opportunities to
be educated for politically active citizenship for those who would otherwise be resource poor (such as
the Spanish speaking immigrants from Latin America). Accepting this assumption means it is

Erectile Dysfunction In Young Men
Erectile dysfunction in young men has become a serious issue of concern as many young males are
suffering from this disease and the numbers are increasing on a daily basis. Primarily, erectile
dysfunction was associated with adult men who are above 60 years of age; however, research shows
that this disorder can occur in males at any age. But before taking a deeper look into the subject, let s
focus on what erectile dysfunction actually is.
Erectile dysfunction is simply the inability to sustain an erection of the male sexual organ at the time
of sexual intercourse. As a man, it is very crucial for every young male to experience healthy sex life,

Erectile dysfunction is a serious problem that needs to be addressed with optimum care, or else it can
lead to several other health problems as well. This is why proper diagnosis and treatment of this
disease is truly important.
How to diagnose erectile dysfunction in young men?
Proper diagnosis of erectile dysfunction or ED is made by performing certain tests. There are mainly
three significant methods of diagnosis and they are as follows:
Getting to know of patient history: Doctors interview the men prior to the treatment to find certain
answers like
* Is it the lack of libido that s causing the dysfunction or its simply premature ejaculation?
* Whether the patient is suffering from any psychological disorder or any relationship issues or not?

One major issue with social problems is that since they are called problems, people tend to think there

the city conducted surveys provide the grounds for the claims about the seriousness of claims of
homelessness as a social issue in Philadelphia. The stigma associated with the homeless illustrates that
the public sees homeless people differently from others. The media coverage of the homeless frames
the news stories so that people tend to see the homeless people in a negative light. Policymakers have
attempted to resolve the social conditions revolving homelessness, but are still yet to find that perfect
solution. The outcomes of these policies show that there is yet to be a sufficient policy for the

Government Regulating Food
One may agree with the government regulating our food. Personally speaking, it is a good idea. It is a
surprise how unhealthy people are when they eat out, they do not count calories and eat whatever they

many Americans are obese today and it is time to make a change and clean up our eating habits.
Although many Americans are active and keep track of eating healthy, too many are obese and junk
food oriented. Counting calories is hard, but it can lead to people eating much better. At least two
thirds of Americans are now considered obese (Park). In New York City forty percent of the city s
obese population is elementary and middle school students (Park). Now obesity does have many
causes, but it comes from unhealthy junk that you put inside your body when you eat fast food. If an

The list of potential pro inflammatory cytokines important in the pathogenesis of RA and other
autoimmune and inflammatory diseases has been extended by another cytokine interleukin IL 23. This
cytokine plays a potential role in immune modulation of different subpopulations of T helper (Th)
cells in concert with IL 12 (Lupardus and Garcia, 2008).
IL 23 is a pro inflammatory cytokine belonging to the IL 12 cytokine family. IL 23 is essential for the
differentiation of Th17 lymphocytes, a subtype of T lymphocyte implicated in chronic
inflammatory/autoimmune mediated diseases (Guo et al., 2013).
IL 23 is produced by several types of antigen presenting cells such as macrophages and denderitic
cells. IL 23 is found in the skin of patients with psoriasis, in the bowel of patients with chronic
inflammatory bowel disease and in synovial membrane of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. IL 23 is
involved in osteoclastogenesis, independently from IL 17, via induction of RANKL expression.
Debate continues to surround the role of IL 23 in the pathophysiology of inflammatory joint diseases
(rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis) (Duvallet et al., 2011).
Reports have indicated that in humans increased levels of IL 23 are associated with the several
autoimmune diseases including RA, Lyme arthritis, inflammatory bowel

Investigating Correlation Between Angles Of Incidence And...
Introduction
In the first part of this experiment we used a flat, concave, and convex mirror to determine the
relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection for a light rays reflection on
these mirrors, seen in Procedure A. In the second part of this experiment we used a light source, a
three way mirror, a rhombus prism, and a protractor to measure angles of a light ray. All of these
instruments and devices were used to examine the relationship of the angle of incidence and the angle
of refraction for a light ray passing through a rhombus prism, seen in Procedure B. Lastly, in the third
part of this experiment we used an acrylic rhomboid to observe the dispersion through the lens, seen in
Procedure C and then proceed with calculating the different indices or refraction for different colors of
light, seen in Procedure D.
Theory
Part A: Reflection
We observe the Law of Reflection, which states that the angle of incidence will equal the angle of
reflection coming from a beam of light. As Procedure A will show, when a beam of light is directed on
a mirror being either flat, concave, or convex the beam of light will change directions according to the
mirrors. The angle between the normal line and the first beam is known as the angle of incidence,
(ϴi). The angle between the normal and reflected beam is known as the angle of the reflection, (ϴr).
With these symbols we obtain the equation: ϴi= ϴr
Part B: Refraction
When a beam of light is directed

  • 3. Maintaining Agricultural Farmlands for the World s Growing... As the world population continues to rise, there are growing concerns for maintaining agricultural farmlands, especially in developing countries with drought and famine. This has also led to many shortages of food, due to high demand because of the increasing population. Demographists worry that if this growing issue continues to hurt food consumption of povertized countries, than there will be more deaths because the population is increasing, but the food levels are staying the same, or even decreasing. Some of these demographists believe that this is occurring, because the developed countries are intaking too much food. Others believe that this is because of the overpopulated countries, and the fact that they are in higher need for food because of their population. Another problem that arises within this is deforestation. Deforestation is a part of this growing problem because when massive woodlands are cut down, the lands become dry and bodies of water in or around the land dry up, making crops unsuitable for crop growth and crop rotation, leading to the lands to turn into non arable lands. This is also known as desertification. This correlates with population growth because if lands become non arable, then crops won t grow there, leading to starvation in developing countries with higher population needs and demands. Although some people are taking action for the problems that this issue has given us, we re still nowhere near solving the problem. This issue is very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Essay Thucydides Historical Method Thucydides indicates that people are indiscriminate about the stories or accounts they are told. They do not put them to the test. This is the case even with accounts that deal with their own country. Thucydides uses the example of the murder of Hipparchus. The Athenians believe that Hipparchus was a tyrant and was the ruler when he was killed by Harmodius and Aristogeiton. The fact of the matter is, Thucydides says, that it was Hipparchus older brother Hippias who was in power, not Hipparchus. Hippias was the eldest son of Pisistratus, so he was the ruler of Athens, not Hippias, who was younger, and not Thessalus, the third son of Pisistratus, who was also younger than Hippias. As for Harmodius and Aristogeiton, they originally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He uses two examples to illustrate this, both of which deal with the Lacedaemonian kings. When Thucydides uses the phrase Other Greeks , it is possible that he is referring to Greeks in general and to the popular beliefs of the time, or he could be referring to Herodotus, who provided erroneous information about Lacedaemonian kings. The misconceptions that Thucydides refers to concerning the Lacedaemonian kings are, first, that the Lacedaemonian kings have two votes each, and that they have a military unit called `Pitante never existed. Herodotus, in his account, said that the Spartan kings had two votes each and he also referred to the Pitante unit. So Herodotus spread false information, and could very well be the Other Greeks who have wrong opinions that Thucydides refers to. The fact that these false beliefs are accepted as truth shows, according to Thucydides, how ready people are to believe the first things that come to hand. Thucydides next attacks the poets for spreading these false beliefs in their songs, and the prose writers, who have also spread these false beliefs in their works. In their songs, the poets have embellished much, Thucydides says, and what the prose writers have hammered together aims more to delight the ear than to be true (Thucydides, 12). • 12. The Life Of A Woman, By Jamaica Kincaid Lucy, the eponymous character of Jamaica Kincaid s second novel, moves from Antigua to New York not in an arbitrary move, but in a calculated effort to explore her latent queer sexuality and gradually escape the gendered labor of her homeland. By working as an au pair for an upper class white woman named Mariah, Lucy trades birthing labor for domestic labor in a move that initially seems lateral, but serves as a potential gateway to freedom from caretaking that would have been inaccessible in Antigua. Unbridled from her mother, the American Lucy has opportunities to explore her sexuality without being deemed promiscuous, and has the ability to live with a woman she can have intimate relations with. Lucy has continuously disobeyed the performative prescriptions of heteronormativity in her life, but, as explained by the work of Rosamund King, her transgressions in Antigua are rendered invisible by a culture that believes women are incapable of sexual agency. America acknowledges Lucy s transgressions against heteronormativity, which lets her explore sexuality and gradually escape the obligations of gendered work. Lucy is escaping the obligations delineated by female performance. Lucy does not begin to experiment or play with queerness and gender in America, but remains unassimilated to beauty standards with the same intensity she had in Antigua. During her upbringing, her gender nonconforming behaviors and ideology went ignored in Antigua because of the common misconception that females are incapable of having sexual agency, intelligence, or usefulness beyond sustenence work and caretaking within the household (King). Lucy is allowed to kiss girls, like her best friend from school, and her does not fret over failing to enjoy acts of intimacy with males. Heteronormativity is not enforced by expectations of female and male pairings, but instead by the gendered division of labor. According to Nancy Hartsock s Feminist Standpoint, this tradition of forcing females into sustenance work should create a collective caregiver essence to women, and Lucy proves the antithesis. • 14. The Pros And Cons Of Buddhism Being Vegetarian Along with the pros and cons of a Buddhist being vegetarian, there are a lot of differences among philosophy and region. To begin with, it s been alleged that the Buddha ate meat. This is a fairly well attested fact. The issue of vegetarianism is addressed a few times in the Suttas, notably the Jivaka Sutta of the Majjhima Nikaya. The Buddha consistently affirmed that monastics (monks) were permitted to eat meat, as long as it was not killed intentionally for them. This goes back to the point of kamma and intentionality. There are numerous passages in the Vinaya (regulatory framework monastic community) that refer to the Buddha or the monastics eating meat. Meat is also regularly mentioned as one of the standard foods. For these reasons, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This position sits squarely within a straightforward application of the law of kamma. Kamma simply understood as intention. Eating meat involves no intention to do harm, because the harm has already been done. As there is no intention, there is no kamma. As there is no kamma, there is no ethical problem. However, not all see it this way. The situation in Mahayana is more complicated. Mahayanists, especially in East Asia, embrace vegetarianism, often as a temporary measure for religious events (Silk, 2016). Although the monastics are typically vegetarian all the time, special occasions are cause for celebration. The motivation is, at least in part, an expression of the greater emphasis on compassion in Mahayana. In practice, however, Mahayanists often adopt vegetarianism (as do Hindus) as a rite of purification. This is done because of the toxins and purity of mind and body talked about earlier in the essay. This is despite such texts as the Amagandha Sutta of the Sutta Nipata, where the Buddha insists that eating meat is not a source of spiritual impurity (Silk, 2016). However Tibetan monastics usually eat meat. Vegetarianism and Buddhism seems to vary depending on both how one interprets an ancient text, as well as where one is located and the type of Buddhist they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If you take the story from a different perspective and really think through some of the choices that were made leading up to their death you would see that Romeo and Juliet made some foolish decisions that caused their deaths. Foolishness is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he went to the Capulet party and kissed Juliet, after the party he went to Juliet s balcony and talked to her until the morning, and he also took Juliet s virginity. Kissing Juliet was one of the most foolish decision Romeo had made. R: Then move not while my prayer s effect I take. Thus from my lips, by thine my sin is purged. • 16. Differences Between The Tempest Play And Movie The Tempest Play v. Movie The play The Tempest is a rather difficult play to follow in its written format. You have to carefully keep track of who is talking to have a good understanding of what is occurring in the play itself. Just like with movies it is easier to understand a play that is being portrayed by actors on stage because you have the ability to view who is speaking with visual cues. Comparing the written second scene in Act One of The Tempest written by William Shakespeare and the movie from 2010 which was directed by Julie Taymor there are some differences like lines being removed, lines being shifted, and overall easiness to follow. During Act One, Scene Two of the play we start out by noticing that one of the main characters, Prospero, has had a gender swap, which changes the name to Propsera throughout the play. Starting out that is the only major difference that you can see, however the first line difference that has been skipped occurs when Miranda says, Wherefore did they not that hour destroy us , which was completely skipped in the movie adaptation (Shakespeare, 12). In some instances, the director might have opted to make the movie a little bit more children friendly by removing lines from Ferdinand (page 24 line 448) talking about Miranda s virginity (00:26:48 00:26:59). A swap is an over the counter agreement between two parties to exchange cash flows in the future. The agreement defines the dates when the cash flows are to be paid and the way in which they are to be calculated. Usually the calculation of the cash flows involves the future value of an interest rate, an exchange rate, or other market variable. The most popular (plain vanilla) interest rate swap is one where LIBOR is exchanged for a floating rate of interest. In this swap, one party agrees to pay the other party interest at a fixed rate on a notional principal for a number of years. In return, it receives interest at a floating rate on the same notional principal for the same period of time. Principal amounts are not usually exchanged in the interest rate swap. • 26. How Aristarchus Made A Large Jump From Terrestrial... How Aristarchus made a large jump from terrestrial measurements of scale to the celestial is truly impressive. Without any measures of the sizes of and distances to any celestial objects, Aristarchus was able to measure both for the Moon. He was able to use something he knew about the Earth and a bit of smart geometry to deduce the size of the Earth s shadow at the distance of the Moon. By watching the Moon go through the Earth s shadow which is formally known as a lunar eclipse, Aristarchus could determine the ratio between the size of the shadow at the distance to the Moon and the size of the Moon. Aristarchus knew that on average two times a year, the surface of the full Moon becomes dark for a period ranging up to around two hours. It was reasoned that during these times, the Moon was passing through the shadow cast by the Earth, known as a lunar eclipse. The eclipse would only occur during the full Moon because that s the time when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun. Aristarchus realized that the longest lunar eclipses must occur when the Moon passes right through the center of the Earth s shadow, and so that the angular size of the Earth s shadow could be measured by noting the difference in the position of the Moon before and after the eclipse. He could then compare this angular size to the angular size of the Moon to get the ratio between them. He used the formula Now by using the formula. The moon could fit into earth roughly ... To show his aggravation and irritation, Stravinsky uses the rhetorical device of comparison and contrast to convey his opinion of conductors. He compares the great conductors to great actors in that [they] are unable to play anything but themselves . Moreover, being unable to adapt, they have to adapt the work to themselves, not themselves to the work, which is obviously offending to a notable composer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This contrasts the motives of the composer and the conductor, which should be to keep the integrity of the piece of music, but as mentioned above, Stravinsky believes that the conductor s are usually for personal gain. The negative point of view that Stravinsky has for the conductors is also revealed through the use of language, literal and figurative language. Stravinsky uses both literal and figurative language because they have the power to portray reality. In this piece, the word great is used sarcastically to show the contrast between what the conductors think of themselves and what he thinks of them. They both are reality, but reality to two different people, so using great in a sarcastic manner allows for both Stravinsky s and the conductors interpretations of reality. In this case, the denotation and the connotation are different, making them important. Here the denotation of the word great is wonderful, majestic, and important, while the connotation is the exact opposite, ignoble, insignificant, and inferior. Literal language tells the apparent truth, while figurative language tells the apparent truth it also tells the indirect truth, making language important in this piece. In conclusion, Stravinsky airs his annoyance and irritation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Opium In China In The Late 19th Century Around the early 19th century, China began to have many issues with a drug called opium. British merchants longed for Chinese goods, but the Chinese did not want many of the goods that they had. This situation caused a trade imbalance to occur between China and Britain (3). In order to pay for the Chinese luxuries that they wanted, the British increased the production of opium in India and began to trade Bengal opium in China (2). The Chinese empire objected to the opium trade many times, but the demand for opium kept increasing (2). The drug caused many problems in China because much of the population became addicted and many economic issues occurred (2). Chinese goods have benefitted Britain greatly, yet Britain repaid them with the product of opium. Suppose the subject of another country were to come to England to trade, he would certainly be required to comply with the laws of England, then how much more does this apply to us of the celestial empire! Lin stressed to Queen Victoria that the foreign traders must comply with the Chinese laws because of the universality of them and out of respect and honor to the country. Many of the natives that sold and used opium were subject to death and Lin stated that the foreign merchants deserved this same fate. Lin wanted Queen Victoria to command her merchants to obey the Chinese laws and pleaded for her to stop the opium trade in China. At the end of his letter, Lin asked the queen to punish the subjects that had violated the laws and to unite the trade market in peace once more (). The purpose of Commissioner Lin s letter was to peacefully convince Queen Victoria to stop the trade of opium in China. Carroll uses many scenes within his story to provide roles for each and every character, so they could personify characters in the real world. In many instances Alice attempts to understand these individuals living within the world they call Wonderland. But like any other, Alice finds the differences between them to be too great and rejects them just like how people in the real world reject the ideas of others based on how they were raised. Alice even though she is a fresh young mind, she still already has nurtured ideals within her and it prevents her from learning from these character s flaws. The Role of Religion in American Politics The Role of Religion om American Politics As the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution stipulates, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . This regulation represents one of the most important principles upon which the American democracy is built: the separation of church and state. Rhys H. Williams and N. J. Demerath III, the authors of the article Religion and Political Process in an American City , however, raise the question that if our national political history is bulit on a religious based morality if we are a nation with the soul of a church then why should government be excluded from religious affairs and churches have their political activities ... As far as the reason for this mobility is considered, the Civil Rights Movement is sure to have contributed to it with its calls for social reforms. Consequently, the more liberal Protestants became more attracted to the Democrats, while the more conservative ones remained in or joined the Republicans. Regarding the Catholics, a considerable percentage of them is of Latin American origin. The Catholic citizens, many of them deeply religious, belong to the lower social classes, although some of them have become more affluent recently. Those who has moved up on the social ladder, are more likely to make inroads into the Republican Party, since they no longer strive for social reforms. Relating this religious and ethnical affiliation to civic participation, it is remarkable to note that the extent to which someone is involved in civic life may be dependent on whether they have acquired the civic skills through their assiciational memberships and, in particular, from their experience in church. The statistics found in the city conducted surveys provide the grounds for the claims about the seriousness of claims of homelessness as a social issue in Philadelphia. The stigma associated with the homeless illustrates that the public sees homeless people differently from others. The media coverage of the homeless frames the news stories so that people tend to see the homeless people in a negative light. Policymakers have attempted to resolve the social conditions revolving homelessness, but are still yet to find that perfect solution. The outcomes of these policies show that there is yet to be a sufficient policy for the homeless and treatment of them. It is a surprise how unhealthy people are when they eat out, they do not count calories and eat whatever they want. Some challenging the government would say calorie labeling has no effect on what we eat. Too many Americans are obese today and it is time to make a change and clean up our eating habits. Although many Americans are active and keep track of eating healthy, too many are obese and junk food oriented. Counting calories is hard, but it can lead to people eating much better. At least two thirds of Americans are now considered obese (Park). In New York City forty percent of the city s obese population is elementary and middle school students (Park). When this event got public the local townspeople got out that the entire thing was from another planet entirely. After the government stated that the material was from a weather balloon, some people thought it was a cover up for what it actually was. First off, I d like to say how people originally thought of the UFOs as Extra Terrestrial beings. Although I guess people looked over the fact that the material that the UFO contained a human made material. The list of potential pro inflammatory cytokines important in the pathogenesis of RA and other autoimmune and inflammatory diseases has been extended by another cytokine interleukin IL 23. This cytokine plays a potential role in immune modulation of different subpopulations of T helper (Th) cells in concert with IL 12 (Lupardus and Garcia, 2008). IL 23 is a pro inflammatory cytokine belonging to the IL 12 cytokine family. IL 23 is essential for the differentiation of Th17 lymphocytes, a subtype of T lymphocyte implicated in chronic inflammatory/autoimmune mediated diseases (Guo et al., 2013). IL 23 is produced by several types of antigen presenting cells such as macrophages and denderitic cells. IL 23 is found in the skin of patients with psoriasis, in the bowel of patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease and in synovial membrane of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. IL 23 is involved in osteoclastogenesis, independently from IL 17, via induction of RANKL expression. Debate continues to surround the role of IL 23 in the pathophysiology of inflammatory joint diseases (rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis) (Duvallet et al., 2011). • 40. Investigating Correlation Between Angles Of Incidence And... Introduction In the first part of this experiment we used a flat, concave, and convex mirror to determine the relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection for a light rays reflection on these mirrors, seen in Procedure A. In the second part of this experiment we used a light source, a three way mirror, a rhombus prism, and a protractor to measure angles of a light ray. All of these instruments and devices were used to examine the relationship of the angle of incidence and the angle of refraction for a light ray passing through a rhombus prism, seen in Procedure B. Lastly, in the third part of this experiment we used an acrylic rhomboid to observe the dispersion through the lens, seen in Procedure C and then proceed with calculating the different indices or refraction for different colors of light, seen in Procedure D. Theory Part A: Reflection We observe the Law of Reflection, which states that the angle of incidence will equal the angle of reflection coming from a beam of light. As Procedure A will show, when a beam of light is directed on a mirror being either flat, concave, or convex the beam of light will change directions according to the mirrors. The angle between the normal line and the first beam is known as the angle of incidence, (ϴi). The angle between the normal and reflected beam is known as the angle of the reflection, (ϴr). With these symbols we obtain the equation: ϴi= ϴr Part B: Refraction When a beam of light is directed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
