Essays On Critical Thinking
Composing an essay on the subject of critical thinking presents a unique set of challenges that
requires a considerable amount of intellectual engagement. Critical thinking, by its very nature,
demands a deep and analytical approach to the topic at hand, and writing an essay that
effectively conveys these complex ideas can be a daunting task.
One of the difficulties lies in the need to balance between providing a clear and coherent
argument while also incorporating a level of complexity that reflects the intricacies of critical
thinking. Developing a thesis that not only captures the essence of critical thinking but also
guides the reader through a logical progression of ideas requires careful consideration and
precision in language.
Furthermore, critical thinking is not a monolithic concept; it encompasses various aspects such as
analysis, evaluation, inference, and interpretation. Navigating through these components and
illustrating their interconnectedness in a cohesive manner can be challenging. Ensuring that the
essay does justice to the multifaceted nature of critical thinking while maintaining clarity can be
a delicate balancing act.
Research plays a pivotal role in crafting an essay on critical thinking. Sifting through scholarly
articles, academic papers, and philosophical treatises to support and strengthen arguments
demands both time and dedication. It requires a keen ability to discern reliable sources from
biased ones and to synthesize diverse perspectives into a coherent narrative.
Moreover, writing an essay on critical thinking necessitates the cultivation of a personal voice
that reflects an understanding of the topic. It involves not only presenting the thoughts of
experts but also engaging with them critically and integrating one's own insights. This requires a
certain level of intellectual maturity and confidence in one's analytical abilities.
In conclusion, writing an essay on critical thinking is no simple feat. It requires a blend of
analytical skills, research acumen, and the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and
compelling manner. However, mastering this challenge can lead to a deeper understanding of the
subject and an enhanced ability to think critically. For those who find themselves grappling with
the intricacies of this task, it's worth considering that assistance in crafting similar essays and

My Internship At The Richland County Public Defender s...
Introduction
My internship is at the Richland County Public Defender s Office and I work
directly with two juvenile defense attorneys. My office is at the Richland County
Judicial Center. This position is very new and I am the second person to have this
internship at USC, so defining my position is very complex. I do not have an on site
social work supervisor to turn to when I have questions, so, I have to figure out a
lot of things on my own. Being that I work directly with the attorneys, a lot of
things I see on the daily are on the legal side and not the social worker side per se.
However, the attorneys involve me in the entire process when working with each
client to provide a social work perspective to better help the clients and increase the
quality of their services. Some of my duties involves researching client information,
searching for services and resources for the clients and families, examining IEPs for
the attorney and clients, visiting clients while they are in secure locations, attending
interagency staffing for clients, advocating for clients and the services they need, and
many more tasks. Every day is different and provides multiple opportunities to meet
with other professionals and clients.
Clients Case Summary
Since I started in August 2015, 100% of my clients have been Africa America
teenage or youth adult males in Richland County of Columbia. All of them had or
have some criminal charges against them: some are awaiting trial or hearings while in
The Pros And Cons Of Journalism
Journalism is the type of writing that investigates and includes lots of research of
good and bad stories and some events. Journalists tend to write news stories that
people should know about and haven t already heard. Journalism comes in different
categories; some are reporters, writers, editors, and photographers. People who tend to
like journalismare those who love language and enjoy writing and reading, are
called journalist; they work as reporters at newspapers, magazines, websites, TV
stations, and radio stations. Good journalists love to read and want to find out
what is going on around them and the world. They write short and long stories as
they must write true stories. Journalists write stories that are from real people and
they make the stories real too. People are not interested in reading newspapers now
as much as they used to long time ago. These days people carry news on their
iPods, cell phones, laptops, and more. They can even watch them on TV. A long
time ago people knew the news through newspapers or the rich would have a radio
which was the only way to know what is going in the world, but now news is
everywhere.
There are lots requirements needed to get into the program called journalism, how
long it takes to be a journalist, and beneficial to public and themselves.
Unfortunately, high school course needed to get prepared and ready for the career.
When a person knows what career she going into when she still in law school, she
can get ready. So by the
Research Paper On The Cotton Club
The Cotton Club A speakeasy with the best music and performers. The Cotton
Club was best known for its wonderful music and great alcohol. It gave black
musicians a place to perform and a gateway to fame. The club was also a place
where white folks could go to enjoy themselves. Although it was very successful it
would be shut down several times but then it would be reopened just as quickly.
The Cotton Club was notably one of the best nightclubs of its time. The Cotton

Essay on Hydrogen Fusion is the Future Source of Energy
Hydrogen Fusion, the Future Source of Energy Abstract The world is currently in
an energy crisis with no end in sight. Many technologies can help reduce our
dependence on fossil fuels and have the possibility of ending the energy crisis.
Hydrogen fusion holds great promise with its no pollution energy output. If more
energy can be created than is used to start the fusion process, the energy crisis
might become a thing of the past. Over half of the energy used now comes from
fossil fuels, which is around 2.77*10^14 KJ in 2003. ITER, which is under
construction right now in France, will have the possibility of releasing 500 MW of
energy as an output. By developing methods that reduce the energy needed to start the

JET is a Tokamak developed by the UK in the 1970 s. JET stands for Joint
European Torus. The fuel used in JET is a mixture of deuterium and tritium. It was
first fired up in 1983 after five years of construction and in 1997 it hit its peak
output of 16 MW. JET is currently shutdown because it is being upgraded to
increase its power output to 40 MV. The upgrades are occurring to help out in the
development of the largest hydrogen fusion generator, ITER. ITER is the newest
fusion generator that is currently under construction in eastern France. It is being
funded by the European Union, Russia, the US, Japan, South Korea, and China.
The project is expected to run for at least thirty years, ten for its construction and
twenty for its usage. The project is expected to cost at leas 10 billion euros, with
the European Union paying a hefty part of the sum. The Torus at ITER is designed
to create at least 500 MW for about 500 seconds. The problem with hydrogen fusion
is that it still is in an experimental phase. Humans are still trying to develop a method
to gain more energy than is put in. Molecules of deuterium and tritium are the main
components in hydrogen fusion. Both deuterium and tritium are stable isotopes of
hydrogen. Fusion shows a lot of promise because it when tritium and deuterium fuse,
they release 17.6 MW of energy, the only problem is creating a way to do this
efficiently. We believe
The Importance Of Title IX
Under Title IX, a school is permitted to provide certain sex segregated areas, such as
restrooms and housing, as well as certain single sex classes and sports teams.
Transgender students must be allowed to participate in activities and access facilities
consistent with their gender identity. Restrooms: While a school may make
individual user restrooms an option, they are not permitted to require transgender
students to use these facilities, or restrooms inconsistent with their genderidentity
when other students are not required to do so. Athletics: Title IX regulations allow a
school to sponsor sex segregated sports based on competitive skill, level of contact,
and/or relevant research based medical knowledge regarding the impact on the

What Is My Favorite Burger Essay
Being the son of a baker, I am constantly trying new foods and recipes. I have had
anything from turkey burgers stuffed with blue cheese, bacon, and onions to a
healthy shrimp stir fry. Some things that I eat, I dislike very much. Other things I
try, I have second and even third helpings.Trying my mom s new recipes always
makes me respect good food to a higher extent. This is why my favorite sandwich is
a twist on the true American favorite, the burger. I want you to know why this burger
is the very best there is. The first thingyou need for the perfect burger is a nicely
done bun. What you need for this is a bun without sesame seeds. You also need a
little bit of butterand a flat top grill. First, you need take the butter and melt it down...

This burger is no exception. The burger must also be topped with a scrumptious
smoked ham and delicious bacon. Both of these should be hot when put on the
burger. The ham, since it is smoked, does not need extensive heating which may
ruin the beautiful pink color of ham. The bacon itself should be cooked in a very
specific and delicate way. It must be cooked to the point where it is no longer
flimsy, so which would render it chewy, but not overly crunchy which would render
it nearly unedible. For extra flavor, cook both of them in the same place you cooked
the burger without removing the burger grease. The next part of the burger is one of
the most essential and the easiest part. What you need is a little bit of a smooth,
white swiss cheese. However, unlike what many people like to do you should try to
refrain from buying the cheapest cheese you can. When it comes to cheese, the
higher priced cheese is more expensive for a reason, and it s the way to go. When
the cheese is set between the slice of ham and the burger, you want it to melt so it
holds the two together, which is something you are not likely to get with a cheaper

Shawn Fanning and the Lasting Impact of Napster
Back when I was a teenager, we would have to buy an entire album just to have one
song, Brittni s father explained, to her utter disbelief. Brittni shook her head,
thinking of the thousands of songs in her iTunes library, and she wondered how
people could afford to buy dozens of albums just for a handful of favorite singles.
Buying music over the internet may seem commonplace today, but in the 1990 s,
audio on the internet was merely experimental. In 2000, computer programmer
Shawn Fanning introduced an internet site called Napster that irrevocably changed
the internet, the music industry, and the complex relationship between the two. Many

Record companies decided to embrace the profitable possibilities of using the
internet and began working on legal pay services. These sites attracted customers
by offering legal downloads of individual tracks for very low prices. As a result,
millions of music lovers today enjoy downloading 99 cent tracks off of online
merchants such as iTunes and Amazon. The music industry is also pleased with
these legal pay services, because revenue is increasing again due to the ease, cost
effectiveness, and widespread popularity of buying and selling music digitally.
While Fanning s invention caused a lot of financial damage to the music industry, it
also forced them to look towards the future and contemplate how it could adapt to
the emerging internet age. Unfortunately, while the recording industry does make
plenty of money from legal music downloads, Fanning and his legendary website
have become the model for the dozens of illegal music file sharing sites that have
emerged over the past 16 years since Napster s launch. The educational eMagazine,
SchoolVideoNews, states that, Software such as Gnutella, Limewire, Kazaa...and
other free, open source software used to trade any type of file...have been popular
networks for pirating music since Napster (Britt). These types of companies, and their
users, are constantly discovered and sued by
Essay on Access, Quality, and Cost Containment
Improving health is in the best interest of everyone, including non health
professionals. Health mangers need to be constantly looking for ways to improve
access to health, the quality of the care, and cost containment. Often the biggest
barriers to accessing healthcare are cost and location. Lower income individuals just
do not have the resources to have optimal healthcare, or cannot take the time away
from employment to deal with health issues. One potential solution to help with these
problems could be telehealth. Telehealth allows a lower level healthcare practitioner
to communicate with a physician or specialists when necessary. Remote rural areas
use a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner on location in remote areas.... Show

With all the bad science in the media the general public is often confused as to
which are the correct choices. Educating the public to be better consumers of
science would improve general health and lower the need for access to healthcare
(Pincus, Esther, DeWalt, Callahan 1998). There are weaknesses in the proposed
plans to improve access. In the case of telehealth nothing can replace the hands on
analysis of a trained physician. Any type of trauma care will still require an airlift to
a trauma center for care. Complications such as reactions to medications, or
complications of child delivery, would leave the patient in the hands of under trained
staff. Such a program would require an infrastructure of physicians willing to
teleconference. Second it would require an internet or satellite link that could not be
disrupted. School health clinics run into the barrier of costs to set up. Districts
already have trouble meeting expenses, additional physicians, nurses and staff would
cause districts to go over budget. A federal program could help fund, but would
require federal control over local control. Second school clinics run into the problem
of permission and privacy. Parents for cultural reasons may not grant permission to
treat some students. The issue of attempting to improve health promotion is that of
receptive audience. Without drama and entertainment the general public is rarely
interested. The lower income people targeted by program
Examples Of Jim s Relationship In Rebel Without A Cause
In the movie Rebel Without a Cause there are many relationships throughout the
movie. Some the main characters relationship arcs with the characters Jim, Judy,
Plato and also their parents go through relationship with their parents and each
other. There main relationships are stray with the parents and then it branches of
from that point. One of first characters you met in movie is Jim and when he was
playing with the toy in street at night. One the first relationship you see with Jim
character is him and his parents and his grandmother in a police station. The main
thing between there relationship is that Jim want his father to be more a man and
stand to his mother, and his mother is that she always wants to run away from
trouble and move away. With the him and his mother wants him to run from his
problems while Jim want to face it himself and she goes against his father and what
he say. With his father there is some symbolism in the beginning of the movie to
show he wants from him he wants him to be more of man and to stand up to his
mother. Jim also has short relationship towards Buzz of that they both respect each
other and the only reason the do stuff like this is just because they have to do
something. Jim has a relationship towards Plato of him trying to be his friend shown
as him trying give him his jacket but first rejected it and then later on except the

Jefferies claims that Lisa is just not the right girl for [him] because she is too
committed to high society and materialistic for him. Jefferies barely acknowledges
her and focuses most of his attention on watching the neighbors apartments
specifically the Thorwalds. She is unable to divert his attention from the window even
with the most forward flirtations. It is not until she puts herself on the other side and
into the movie that he becomes interested in her. Lisa finally becomes the subject of
his gaze and only then does Jeffries show any sexual attraction towards her. Near
the end of the movie when Lisa breaks into Thorwald s apartment, Jeffries does not
see the same Lisa he saw when she stood by him and sat in his lap. This dangerous
act of bravery and courage proves to Jefferies that she is capable of more than he
previously thought. By exposing her willingness to take risks he sees that there is
more to her than high society and fashion. He now looks upon a guilty intruder
exposed by a dangerous man threatening her with punishment Mulvey 207 . He is

Integrated Marketing Communications (
Introduction
Discussion of the concept Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) is highly
debatable with many varied views. This paper aims to discuss then main definitions,
issues, dimensions benefits and barriers surrounding the concept/process.
Definition of IMC
The definition of integrated marketing communications continues to evolve and
there is no shared agreement or meaning. Duncan and Everett (1993) claimed that it
is hard to reach a definition of IMC because it is a process and concept. Scholars,
agencies and clients all seem to have their own views because they all perceive it and
use the concept/process differently. Agencies and clients use it as management
practice to increase efficiency and boost the overall effectiveness ... Show more

Databases containing customer information is very easy to obtain through incentive
programmes. E.g. Tesco clubcard is essentially a sales promotion technique that
measures the consumption patterns of consumers. There is a strong need to share
information through two way communication or a relationship which can only be
built through IMC. (Schultz et al 1994). Duncan and Caywood (1996) explain that
building relationships helps create and nourish profitable relationships. The better
organisations understand consumer habits and behaviour the better they can target
their messages to their audience and through the right media channels. Through this
there is an increase in profits, productivity and improved efficiency which is an
organisation driver for IMC
Benefits of IMC
Many multinational companies such as Nestle, GM Motors and IBM are employing
IMC indicating that it is a concept/process that has positive results. Tom Reilly, head
of marketing communications at IBM said to help ensure that the brand is properly
maintained in the course of introducing each year, more than 1000 new products
ranging from floppy disks to mainframe computers. (Reilly 1991) (Duncan, Everett
1993).
Results from the survey (Duncan, Everett 1993) showed that 40 percent of
respondents either strongly agreed or disagreed that they would be more inclined to
hire communications
Thor as Portrayed in the Kenneth Branagh Movie
In this paper, I will talk about Thor as portrayed in the movie directed by Kenneth
Branagh as he may be depicted differently in other sources. Thor is the god of
thunder and son of Odin, ruler of Asgard in Norse mythology. A powerful God that
was next in line for the throne of Asgard. Thor had the power of thunder and was
able to control its power with his hammer, which also allows him to fly. Comparing
Thorto Jesus, both are powerful beings. Asgard and Heaven are very similar as it is
where the Gods/God live. With great power both Thor and Jesus conquered things
in their own way. Jesus conquered sin, not by using his fists to fight Satan, but
instead he was crucified to stop Satan controls over the people. Where in
Soteriology 1 payment for sin. Jesus conquered sin by offering his body, the body
of god, to repent for the people of the world s sin. Unlike Jesus, Thor s course of
action is not non violence. He comes from Asgard, a world where war was heavily
prevalent, which was the reason Thor was banished to earth. He conquered his
enemies through his hands. Though both are godly and had similar intentions Thor s
course of action for his mission was different from Jesus according to course text.
Thor is a savior figure because he saves humanity from God s themselves
specifically his brother Loki, who betrayed his family while he was banished by their
father Odin. In this film Thor is your typical hero who is powerful and strong. In the

Causes Of The Treaty Of Versaille
On July 28 1919, the Treaty of Versaille was signed (Treaty of Versaille). Before the
signing the Kaiser fled the country in November 1918 (Llewellyn, J. Weimar
Republic Timeline ) and the SDP (Social Democratic Party) leader Philipp
Scheidemann made Germany into the Weimar Republic ( Llewellyn, J. Weimar
Republic Timeline ). Germany at the time had thought that the Treaty would be
based on the Woodrow Wilson s original 14 points that were made in january 8
1918( fourteen points ). Later on these points would be re evaluated at the Paris
Peace Conference and altered( Todd, Allan ). Germany felt cheated as they already
had requested peace negotiations with Woodrow Wilson on October 3 to 4 1918 (
fourteen points ). The Treaty of Versaille had

The Treaty got rid of 13% of their land 10% of their population with most of their
land being economically beneficial (Todd, Allan). The reason why some
historians believe that the Treaty of Versaille was the root cause of economic
failure is because of the war guilt clause, Article 231. ARTICLE 231 The Allied and
Associated Governments affirm and Germany accepts the responsibility of
Germany and her allies for causing all the loss and damage to which the Allied and
Associated Governments and their nationals have been subjected as a
consequence of the war imposed upon them by the aggression of Germany and her
allies. (Treaty of Peace). With their land loss and population decrease Germany
was only able to pay 2.5% of their annual GDP for reparations(HANTKE, MAX).
They were expected to pay 230 million gold marks which they could only offer 30
million gold marks (20th century international relations). With most of their
population missing and with less land they can produce less than they could before
the war while they have to make more than before because of the war guilt clause of
Article 231. That s why the the treaty is significant to the economic collapse of
Germany and why some historians would believe that this was the root cause
Dengue Fever Personal Statement
I grew up in a family of doctors and engineers so my interests were naturally shaped
around the sciences. However, my dad was the black sheep of the family who
decided to pursue business. I remember listening to his phone calls about product

idea what he was talking about, he gradually pulled my interests into the world of
business. In a way, I could say I had the best of both worlds.
Although I was often told that studying science and business was unfocused and
unnecessarily challenging, I disagreed completely. I was engrossed in dissections, the

Dengue fever is a horrifying yet rather common disease that most Sri Lankans

better healthcare that isn t being met? I thought. As I lay in my bed surrounded by
the four white walls of my room, I realized that this was only in Colombo, where
most people had access to healthcare. Imagine the dengue patients in other areas of
Sri Lanka, poverty stricken areas. They did not have access to healthcare in their
regions. Although I felt lucky enough to have a bed to sleep on and doctors at my

The Importance Of Public Transportation
1.Tuesday, September 26, 2017 Today I took the SEPTA regional rail to work this
morning. While walking down the row of seats I found myself searching for the
seat without trash, or holes in the seat. While on my train ride I noticed by
surroundings. The vast amount of different people on the train amazed me. There
was an elderly gentleman on my right, and in the seat in front of me was a man who
did not have the most pleasant scent. Noticing people eating, coughing, or sleeping
and drooling on the window I quickly came to the realization of how many germs are
on this train. Things such as public transportplay a role in public healthsignificantly.
With all of the germs on public transportation people can pick up things easily. For
example, the measles outbreak that was in Disney World, could be picked up
through public transportation. People touching poles, seats, could pose the risk of
spreading many communicable diseases. I personally do not believe that public
transportation does a great job in the sanitation department. However, on the flip side
public transportation is also beneficial to public health. According to the APHA
people located near major highways and road ways have an increase in respiratory
illness due to the amount of pollution. Therefore, by taking public transportation such
as the train, or subway this reduces the amount of pollution causes by cars, trucks,
and other vehicles on the road.

The Role Of Modernism In Conrad Vs. Richardson
Conrad vs. Richardson: The Fight for the New Woman
Modernism emerged onto the literature scene with many purposes, one of which
being the experimentation with normative ideals in literature. The emergence of
modernism in the western world arrives at a pivotal time during the women s rights
movement (Ross 25). Dorothy Richardson s The Tunnel, the fourth book in a
thirteen book series titled Pilgrimage, is an influential and early feminist novel for
its date of publication of 1918. Miriam Henderson, the protagonist of this novel
leads a life completely independent from the financial and social stability that a man
may bring to a marriage. Though Miriam experiences a certain level of tumult
towards her role in society as a new woman, Richardson provides the entirety of the
novel for Miriam s growth and agency of her own life. Joseph Conrad, a prominent
author during the modernist period, claims in his Author s Note that his novel The
Secret Agent is telling Winnie Verloc s story (Conrad 36), despite Mr. Verloc s self
proclaimed nature as a secret agent . Conrad s attempts at creating a feminist and
modernist image of Winnie are shadowed by the constant presence of a man behind
her actions. Conrad s use of repetition of the words free woman in the text falsifies
this claim even further. If the purpose of modernist literature is to break conventions
of the past such as gender ideals of women in marriage, why do The Tunnel and The
Secret Agent differ so wildly in their

If the Jaguars contend for the playoffs this year, it will be because of their defense.
The AFC West won t be as competitive as the South, but it will feature one of the

no surprise that the Chargers will be the bottom feeders in the AFC West. If
Ezekiel Elliott s suspension affects the Cowboys, this divisional race will be one
of the tightest in football. However, I don t think Elliott s suspension will. Dallas
has the best offensive line in football and any running back can run behind it
(Darren McFadden rushed for over 1,000 yards two years ago). The New York
Giants are a trendy playoff pick with an improvement in the receiving core and the
assumed development of their defense. New York also has a favorable schedule,
which could allow them to rack up wins.
Analysis Of The Canterbury Tales

Here s Where the Story Ends Fables and myths constitute the foundation of nearly
every culture, and are passed down through generations, never losing their meaning
and allure. Many factors make a story special, including its plot, essence, and
characters, but only the storyteller holds within themselves the potential to deliver a
narration that will inspire their audience and leave a lasting mark. In a quaint
example of metafiction, many novels have been published with a central theme of
storytelling. Two such examples following this concept is The Canterbury Tales,
written by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1478, and Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley
1818. Three characters in The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Have I not suffered enough, that you seek to increase my misery... Everywhere I
see bliss, from which I alone am irrevocably excluded (Shelley 68 69). The Wife of
Bath and The Monster quickly intrigue their respective audiences by flooding them
with emotion. The Wife of Bath shares her negative views on marriage, while The
Monster prepares to tell his heartbreaking story. By expressing their emotions, both
narrators are able to share their beliefs and views, impacting their listeners. This is
just one power of storytelling, where an outpour of emotions can be so powerful
moving, having a profound effect on the audience. In addition, by articulating their
emotions, the storytellers give the crowd an opportunity to enter their own minds,
further allowing the audience to experience the story from the eyes of the narrator.
Another critical facet in storytelling lies in parables, which carry moral lessons. In
his fable, the Pardoner imparts a crucial message of the destructiveness of greed. In
his prologue, the Pardoner makes his explanation very clear: But let me briefly
make my purpose plain / I preach for nothing but for the greed of gain / And use the
same old text, as bold as brass / Radix malorum est cupiditas (Chaucer 243).
Providing another meaningful anecdote is The Monster, who explains how love is a
powerful emotion that can get one through loneliness and isolation. The Monster
makes clear his message of requiring a companion: If I cannot inspire
The Secret to Being a Graphic Designer
Graphic designers are the people who make logos and pictures for companies. For
example, some graphic designers might make the picture for a restaurant logo. If a
picture is made badly, and doesn t attract you to it, that company is probably not
going to get a lot of negative effects on their company. Graphic designers should be
good with computers and art. Many graphic designers develop things for advertising
related things, and they need to create things that really stand out. Most graphic
designers get employed in special designing services. A graphic designer should
show their creativity and how original they are. Graphic designers create or design

Unknown Vs Evil In Frankenstein
One of the many themes in James Whale s 1931 film Frankenstein is that of the
known vs the unknown or good vs evil. Whale uses the motif of fire as a powerful
extension of what the good can do to the darkness. Fire is used as a way to keep
the Monster or the evil representation of the film in isolation and outside of the
known world and also as a way to show that the known or good will always win
against the unknown or evil.
Known vs unknown or good vs evil falls into the category of a knowledge narrative
according to Andrew Tudor. Tudor says that the narrative itself functions by
proposing the existence of a body of knowledge capable of mediating between these
domains of known and unknown (83). The first distinct moment where there is
realization of the darkness/unknown trying to seep into the world of the light/known
is when Henry Frankenstein says that his monster has only been kept in complete
darkness and to wait until [he] brings him into the light (30:30 30:35). After his
speech the Monster walks into the room and Frankenstein closes the light as if to
wait for the right moment to bring him into light or the world of the known. When
the Monster finally sits down on a chair, Frankenstein opens the window on the roof
to reveal the sunlight (32:07). Once the sunlight is revealed to the Monster, it
slowly turns his head upwards and walks very slowly and carefully into the light.
The Monster with its head and arms raised as if it wants to grab the light and become

Family Values In American Family
In 1840s, Asian American community began to be formed when a large number of
Chinese immigrants arrived in the United States as contract laborers. Immigration
from Asian countries has increased since 1970s. The two types of Asian immigrants
coming to America at this time were voluntarily immigrants and refugees. While
Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese are immigrants who came to the United Statesfor
business purposes, Vietnamese, Laos, and Cambodian are refugees who tried to
escape their countries in the World War II.
The majority of Asian Americanfirst generation come from a strong tradition of
extended and kinship ties. Although these ties are disconnected during migration,
they have been quickly reconstructed to shape family patterns in the historical periods
(Zhou 29). Contemporary Asian immigrants from different countries of origin mostly
come with their families. They also bring their cultures and values in their home
country to the United States. There are some common family values in the Asian
American family that are distinguishable, such as emphasis on the centrality of the
family, filial piety, respect for the elders, and reverence for tradition and education.
While these traditional values offer a strong moral basis sustaining the Asian
American family, they have often clashed with dominant American cultural values
and have caused emotional pain and detrimental consequences in the family and
community (Zhou 30). Other than that, when the first wave of Asian immigrants
What Is Socrates Argument For The Soul s Immortality
On the day of Socrates execution, conducted by the state of Athens, he has a number
of friends and philosophers join him in his cell to discuss his perceptions on death
and his soul in the afterlife. During his final conversation preceding his passing,
Socrates presents four arguments for the soul s immortality and suggests that each
genuine philosopher should not be fearful of death, but should instead look forward
to it. While I agree with Socrateson the premise that the soulis immortal, I do not feel
that any of his arguments are sufficient enough to prove this belief to be true. Platos
Phaedo allegedly recounts these events and departing conversations with Socrates.
Socrates first argument regarding the soul s immortality focuses... Show more content

The soul is and always will be indestructible (106e). He believes that every single
new life created came from the death of another life. Socrates does not go into
many specifics with this point, as he poses his belief as a closing testimony to his
life. In addition, none of the bystanders argue against his final argument, as they
realize that this is the last of Socrates. If one is intended to believe that Socrates
means any form of life and any form of death, then I fully support his four
arguments in totality and would take back all of my previous claims. However, he
doesn t openly say that the transmigration of the soul reaches beyond humans and
into animals or other living organisms. For this reason, his fourth argument is
rather unnecessary and is repetitive. Socrates fails to bring any new knowledge to
the table, and is simply reiterating points that he made in his previous three
arguments. It seems that he has ran out of justifications for his beliefs, so he
finalizes with his main point all along instead of presenting a new argument. I
applaud Socrates for this, as he wants his peers to realize that he believes his soul
will live on and that is all that should matter for him on the day of his death. For this
reason, I do not have any negative things to say, other than it not being obligatory,
about Socrates final

The Violence Of Gay Teenagers
Jody Dobrowski aged 24, was brutally murdered in South London in 2005 by two
men who believed him to be homosexual. After such a severe, barbaric, inhumane
act of homophobic violence, his own mother could not identify him, and his
fingerprints had to be used. The judge described this as homophobic thuggery . Ian
Baynham aged 62.Viciously assaulted by a young girl and boy; he punched him,
whilst she repeatedly stamped and kicked him screaming faggot . His injuries were
later fatal and he tragically died in hospital 18 days later. Christopher Schliach,
Henry Bright, Jaap Bornkamp, Geoffrey Windsor, Daniel Jenkinson and a shocking
many more, are all clear examples of hate crimes being metered out on gaymen.
Homophobiadoes kill, and isn t reducing in frequency.
Society kills homosexuals in ways other than murder. Due to the societal pressures,
suicide rates amongst LGB individuals are skyrocketed compared to heterosexuals.
Gay youths are 4 times more likely to attempt suicide. Gay teens are 3 times more
likely. Gay men are 6 times more likely. 30% of the total suicides globally are made
up by LGB individuals. Treating homosexuals as abhorrent and inferior, and societal
persecution is exactly what causes these shocking statistics.
My first experience of homophobia was at the age of 10, when I was labeled gay

my innocence, I did not understand why this was a bad thing, as I only knew
Symbolism In Edwin Arlington Robinson s Richard Cory
Richard Cory is a short, sensational sonnet about a man whose outward appearance
gives a false representation of his inward turmoil. The disaster in the sonnet is
reflected in its soul the tragedies in Edwin Arlington Robinson s own particular life:
Both of his siblings passed on youthful, his family endured monetary disappointments,
and Robinson himself continued hardship before his verse picked up
acknowledgment. Robinson distributed the poem himself in 1897 as a component of
a verse gathering called Children of the Night. The poem is a most loved of
understudies and instructors in view of the inquiries it postures about the title
character.
The poem is rich in tongue use. The writer does not use various untainted devices, no
comparability, no resemblance, no symbolism, yet the words have resonation, in spite
of the way that the poem is extremely strict. For example, in the principle line, At
whatever point Richard Cory went downtown, sets up the extremity that holds all
through the piece. In case Richard Cory went downtown, he ought to have just been
up town, showing a well off private neighborhood; however downtown proposes the
business locale where level inhabitants and the regular workers live. The focal
motivation behind this piece suggests the differences between the prosperous and
the less well off. The speaker of the piece has a place with the last class, and the
song unmistakably draws capabilities among us and him (Richard Cory). In the
second line,
Mental Illness Of Mental Health
Mental health is defined as a state of well being in which every individual realises
his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work
productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his
community (WHO, 2014).
Mental health disorder can be defined as a health problem that significantly affects
how a person feels, thinks, behaves, and interacts with other people. Mental health
problems include the mental ill health that can be experienced temporarily as a
reaction to the stresses of life. Mental disorder cause a great deal of suffering to
those experiencing them, as well as their families and friends (NHS, 2014). Mental
health illnesses can affect people of all ages, and it can be triggered by physical,
social, environmental and genetic factors. Everyone is different, and because of this
some people are more at risk of experiencing mental illness than others. Mental
disorder are classified into two different types and degrees of severity, these are,
psychosis and neurosis.
Psychosis is a generic term for any mental state where the individual has lost their
sense of reality, allowing normal social functioning to deteriorate. The three primary
causes of psychosis are: Functional e.g. schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, Organic
e.g. stemming from medical rather than psychological conditions, for example, a
brain tumour, and psychoactive drugs (Sure life, 2011). People experiencing an acute
episode of psychosis lose touch

Nontraditional Concepts Of Homosexuality
Today, different sexual orientations and gender identities are widely talked about and
accepted more frequently. To begin, sexual orientation refers to one s attraction
towards another individual romantically, sexually, and emotionally. Contrary to
traditional belief, there are multiple ways people can identify their sexual orientation.
Some cultures even embrace the idea of a third sex to describe those who identify as
transgender. Some of the different sexual orientations include Sexual, Monosexual,
heterosexual, Homosexual, Polysexual, Omnisexual, Pansexual, Bisexual,
Demisexual, Graysexual, Asexual, and Queer (Nagoshi). Although this may seem
excessive, people feel the need to define these nontraditional concepts. However,

He didn t believe that homosexuality is a fixed psychological identity, but thought of
it as being fluid. He argued, there were only sexual behaviors, and behaviors alone
did not make a person gay, lesbian, bisexual, or heterosexual. Kinsey and other
researchers such as Havelock Ellis, William Masters, Virginia Johnson, viewed
sexuality positively.
Conversely, phycologists Richard von Krafft Ebing and Sigmund Freud viewed
sexuality as inherently dangerous and needing repression (Yarber 2016). In 1973, the
American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its list of recognized
mental disorders (Savage, 2004). Changing the way homosexuality was viewed from
an illness, to a legitimate sexual identity was a huge step in normalizing sexual
variances. Previously, individuals who experienced non heterosexual attractions were
deemed sick and underwent interventions to find a cure. A paper written by
psychologist Lee Beckstead shared how individuals tried various methods to change
their sexual orientation including surgery, hormonal treatments, and even shock
therapy (Beckstead 2012). A research article written by Christian Cyphers shared that
conversion therapy was just recently banned in 2013.
As of January 1, 2013, California was slated to become the first state to prohibit
mental health providers from treating patients younger than 18 years of age with
therapies geared toward changing their sexual orientation. This
Nationalism And National Identity
Nationalism is a source of modernization and political legitimacy, especially in Latin
American countries such as Nicaragua, Argentina, and Mexico. An inclusive national
identity can serve as a means for the development of belonging, and this globally
acclaimed notion of diversity is attractive for nations struggling to find their footing
in the international community. Looking towards the future, the key to achieving this
inclusion is the use of culture, specifically employing music as a tool of integration.
However, the decisive variable here is adolescents. Though these popular music forms
may be the music of the people, they are ultimately dictated by the youth. In modern
times, music is integral for youth as they delve into discourses of identity and
equality, so focusing in on marginalized youth gives the government an opportunity
to explore attitudes and national inclusion among individuals who are in a critical
period of development. Even though teens are influenced by their parents beliefs
during childhood before advancing their own views, youth are ultimately the starting
point for incorporating ostracized groups into nationalist discourses because they are
the developers and executors of music movements. Furthermore, the attitudes of
young people regarding inclusion and exclusion provide an indication for the
sustainability of such diverse national identities in the future.
In Nicaragua, discourses of identity became prominent following the success of the
Medicine Is Not Just Been My Career Choice
Half awake, I could still hear the loud agonizing cries. I grabbed my mini
stethoscope and hurried downstairs to observe an impressive array of tasks to
save lives. Though, I was a child, it was not the first time I had seen a critical
patient with a busy medical crew around. I grew up in a hospital where both my
parents worked full time. Gradually I started imbibing the quintessential values of a
medical career to the point when helping others was no longer an act, but a way of
living life. This is why I believe, medicinehas not just been my career choice but a
personal journey of self discovery and human revelation.
In 2004, I donated all my savings to the Tsunami relief fund, which sowed the seeds
for the growth of the person I had chosen to become. Since then, years of experience
as a president and a member of various Non governmental organizations (NGO)
including the American Red Cross Society has inculcated in me the compassion and
leadership qualities.

The Human Rights Act 1998
The Human Rights Act 1998
The Human Rights Act 1998 was fully enforced in 2000 and describes further effect
to freedoms and rights that are entitled under the ECHR (the European Convention on
Human Rights) (Ward, Wragg Walker 2011, p. 146). The constitutional framework of
the United Kingdom implies that the Human Rights Act 1998 is not embedded in the
same way as the human rights papers that are adopted by many nations in the world.
Nonetheless, it is argued that any attempt to amend or repeal the provisions of the
Human Right Act 1998 s would necessitate the clearest probable words. It is
significant to note that the scheme of the Human Rights Act is complicated, as it
requires public authorities to undertake their functions in compatible with the ECHR,
and it provides the Convention and related jurisprudence with an important influence
over the domestic law interpretation (Ward, Wragg Walker 2011, p. 147).
Conversely, it impedes the courts from invalidating incompatible Parliament s Act
and in this respect; it does not provide the Convention with a primacy over domestic
law. This paper seeks to evaluate the degree to which the Human Rights Act 1998 has
fully incorporated the ECHR into the United Kingdom s legal system.

The creation of ECHR can be traced back to 1950 after the formation of the United
Nations. As a war shattered continent, Europe was determined to create a free Europe

Disadvantages Of Personalised Medicine
All are created equal but when it comes to matters of pharmacodynamics and

different diseases. Since we all have the basic knowledge that people characteristics
are expressed by genes, it was not surprising that not only our diseases but also the
effectiveness of treatment have a big link to individual genetics. trail and error

with the same drug for every patient and changing regime if find not effective. So
one drug for all has its own drawbacks. Human reaction to drug depends on
individual metabolic and other factors.so dose of drug or even a particular drug
for a particular patient may not be always suitable. When it comes to Drug dose, it
is determined by metabolising enzyme activity of patients towards a particular drug.

The Components Of Linux And Windows Systems
Today, many people rely on computers and other devices to simplify and
convenience their lives. Most users do not even consider the complexity that allows
the device to operate. And staggeringly, every electronic item we use today has
some sort of functioning operating system to allow it to carry out its objective task.
A computer operating system is one such program that has rapidly evolved to simply
the use and capabilities of computers. Two widely known and used operating systems,
Windows and Linux, are contending for the user market and have transformed over
the years and do their best to offer what the user is demanding. Initially the
differences between Windows and Linux were like night and day. Now, as time goes
on, the things that set them apart have become blurry. What really separates these
two is what lies deep in the coding to make the operating system more efficient,
secure and user friendly.
Assessing the differences and similarities between the components of Linux and
Windows systems, a user can decide which system would best meet their needs. The
architecture of the kernel and how it operates can play a factor for security and
efficiency. The visual aspect and workability with the Graphical User Interface(GUI)
or command interface can employ ease of use or offer streamlined productivity. Then
lastly, looking at the statistical data regarding Total Cost of Ownership and general

The Emotional Journey
Harriet Beecher Stowe was born in Litchfield, Connecticut to a family of thirteen
children. Stowe became aware of the controversy over slavery in 1834, however the
passage of the Fugitive Slave act in 1850 made Harriet Beecher Stowe furious and
was the motive behind her novel Uncle Tom s Cabin. Uncle Tom s Cabin is an
emotional anti slavery novel that explains the hardships slaves went through and the
life of Tom, a strong religious man, from his beginning on the Shelby plantation, to
the end when he finally escapes slavery with his dear friend Eliza, but is encountered
with harsh death from Simon Legree for refusing to deny his faith. Emotion plays a

How many miles could you make in those few brief hours, with the darling at your
bosom, the little sleepy head on your shoulder, the small, soft arms trustingly holding

The role of emotion was so important in this novel because, as a reader, in order to
try to understand their pain and hardships, we have to feel their emotion and read
the awful details that Harriet incorporates in her work. Stowe wanted readers to
understand what these slaves went through, and through creating a devastating
picture, forces readers to view slavery from a different perspective and sympathize
slave characters. Stowe wrote a very emotional and detailed novel that ended up
being an award winning novel for its success. While some may believe Harriet s,
Uncle Tom s Cabin, was too emotional, I believe the emotion was utterly important
to get her purpose across. At the end of Uncle Tom s Cabin, Legree says in a
terrible voice, I ll count every drop of blood there is in you, and take em, one by
one, till ye give up! (Stowe 903) Harriet includes these details to demonstrate the
harsh behavior Legree exhibited towards Tom. Without the emotion, readers wouldn t

Such a resolution required only a majority vote in both houses of Congress, which
avoided the necessity for the two thirds Senate majority vote required for treaty
ratification (Bender214). The strategy worked, on March 1, 1845 Lame duck
President John Tyler signed the joint Resolution inviting Texasto join the Union.
This was the first of this procedure to acquire a territory. The issue of whether to
admit Texas remained divisive, with opponents of slavery condemning the
admissions of Texas as a territorial grab intended to create a new slave state.
Following the ratification of the treaty, some politicians felt the manifest destiny of
the United States was to annex all of Mexico. The territory gains between 1845 and
1848 were enough to satisfy all but the most zealous advocates of manifest destiny.
John O Sullivan criticized the opponents of Texas annexation. He went beyond the
immediate issue of Texas to argue that it is the fate of America to grow to encompass
much, if not all of the North American continent. O Sullivan is credited with
inventing the term quot;manifest destiny quot; to describe his expansionist views for
America. This phrase was coined in a New York Morning News editorial.
(Wexler,153).
The added territories gained from the war with Mexico caused the controversy over
the question of slavery between the North and the South. Following the Mexican War
there were bitter debates in Congress, in state legislatures
Examples Of Workplace Harassment In The Workplace

What defines workplace harassment? Truth is, it is harder to define than one may

workplace discrimination and include racial and color, religion, sexual, age and
disability. Any individual made to feel uncomfortable in a work environment or are

victim of workplace harassment and discrimination. An additional factor in
workplace harassment is that it is based on the employee s interpretation of the
situation and how they feel. As seen in the past, as the world and our society
continue to change there will be more ways to interpret each type of harassment, this
will open employers for more instances of harassment.
Racial and color harassment and discrimination has been an ongoing issue in the
United States for decades. Racial and color discrimination is when an applicant or
employee is hired, fired, paid, assigned jobs or promoted based on their race or
color. This also includes the terms of employment based on the race and color of the
spouse of an applicant or employee (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, n.d.). An example of racial discrimination would be if two individuals,
one African American and one white with the same work and educational background
were being paid
Korematsu Versus the United States
In the landmark case of Korematsu v. United States the Supreme Court was correct in
the ruling because the executive order that was issued became a law to protect the
country from persons that had close ethnic ties to the enemy and made all people that
the government deemed a threat to national security into prisoners. Although this was
against moral standards, it was a necessity at the time to protect the country. While it
may seem that it was just the Japanese that were prosecuted, it was also Americans of
German and Italian heritage that were also persecuted. This executive order infringed
on the rights of American citizens based on their ethnic background. This isn t right
because as said in the constitution everyone has the right to life, liberty and the
pursuit of happiness.
The majority opinion in the ruling of Korematsu v. United States. The majority
opinion in this case was in favor of the United States. The court in this case argued
that the executive order 9066 (....WHEREAS the successful prosecution of the war
requires every possible protection against espionage and against sabotage to national
defense material, national defense premises, and national defense
utilities....(illinois.edu) was legal because after the bombing of pearl harbor, the
general population of the United States was in a state of chaos. This ruling was made
because, as stated in the previous paragraph, the population of the United States
requires every possible protection against espionage to
The Fed And Monetary Policy
1. The Fed and Monetary Policy
Monetary policy is the action taken by the Federal Reserve to expand or contract the
money supply and influence interest rates.
After checking the current news on monetary policy, describe the Fed s current policy
is it expanding or contracting the money supply, and why? Do you think that this
policy could increase or reduce inflation?
The Fed is expanding the money supply. The Fed have data that shows a positive
increase in the labor market, house hold spending, housing sector. The Fed is trying
to increase price stability, strengthen the labor market, and expand economic activity
within the nation. Their policy in place is to reduce inflation.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse have been together a long time, almost 90 years, in fact,
as they were first introduced by the famous Walt Disney in 1928. These loveable
mice characters have appeared in comics, movies, cartoons and on millions of items
of merchandise since and their popularity has never waned. That s not something you

His distinguishing feature is, of course, his round head with two round ears on top
(which stay the same no matter what profile he appears in). The silhouette of the ears
and head are just as recognizable as Mickey himself and are used as the Official
Disney Mascot. Mickey is even able to boast a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
His best friends include Goofy and Donald Duck and he has a dog named Pluto. He
usually wears short white gloves and red clothing; most commonly a pair of red
shorts.
Minnie Mouse
Mickey s girlfriend Minnie Mouse is a star in her own right. Her basic appearance is
similar to Mickey s and her dress style is very pretty and feminine. She s usually
depicted in either a pink or red flapper dress (on occasion orange as well) with a
matching bow between her ears. Her shoes are visually oversized high heel pumps
that clatter as she walks.
Tattoo Designs
Outlines and Silhouettes The outline of their profile (circle with two circles on
either side) is a popular design for Mickey and Minnie Mouse tattoos. Some clients
will only want the simple outline but others may add a bow to the outline to
represent Minnie or chose to have the outlines filled in to form
Stress In University Essay
Stress is known for occurring during the overwhelming times throughout students
university experience. There are three major elements that students face in university
that reinforce each other and lead to stress. These three connected experiences can
lead to them developing a mental illness if the stress becomes long term. Firstly,
when the academic pressure and work load for students rises when they come to
university, they will feel stressed. Secondly, since university is expensive, it may be
very stressful for students to pay for tuition and living costs. Lastly, students who are
starting university will face a lack of family support systems, difficulty finding
friends, and difficulty leaving home which will lead to them feeling stressed. Stress
based on these three factors may have a significant impact on their mental health and
academic success.
Firstly, when the academic pressure and work load on students rises when they come
to university, they will feel stressed as they adjust to the change of scholarly
expectations. Students in university face the challenges of having more assignments
and tougher examinations than in high school, which students may not be prepared
for beforehand. The other academic factors that contribute to higher stress levels are
familial induced pressure to succeed, scholarship requirements, and higher education
requirements (Bedewy and Gabriel). Other factors that also have the highest rate of
academic stress are, course loads, lack of
An Investigation Based On The Arrhenius Law
INTRODUCTION
This investigation is based on the Arrhenius law, A formula created by Professor
Svante Arrhenius that combines the Boltzmann distribution law with the concept of
activation energy (Stephen Lower 2011a) to depict one of the most important
relationships between temperature and rate of reaction in chemistry to date. In the
formula,
K = e ≈ 2.71828
A = Arrhenius constant = Activation Energy
RT = Average kinetic energy (Universal gas constant Г
— Temperature in Kelvins) In
this experiment, the main focus is placed on the Arrhenius plot, which is derived
through the manipulation of the Arrhenius equation to remove its exponential form
by taking the natural log of both sides of the equation which forms lnk=lnA E_A/RT A

This topic appealed to me, as it seemed like a sound concept in theory, but could not
find any discussion based on using the Arrhenius plot for physical processes.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
2.1 Sublimation; an endothermic process
Sublimation is the term describing the transition of a substance from the solid phase
to the gas phase without passing through an intermediary liquid phase. (Anne Marie
Helmenstine 2014a) It is a physical change of state, which occurs at temperatures
and pressures below the triple point of the substance, the point where the temperature
and pressure causes the 3 phases: solid, liquid and vapour, of a single component
system to be in equilibrium. (Blackwell Scientific Publications Oxford 1997) This
definition shows that sublimation is a purely physical process; so a substance does
not undergo a chemical reaction during sublimation.
This diagram represents a typical endothermic reaction: Fig. 2: Endothermic reaction
enthalpy change (hferrier n.d.)
As displayed in figure 2, a substance requires kinetic energy greater or equal to its
activation energy in order for it to change from its initial form to its product. The
activation energy shown is one of the pathways that a reaction takes with respect to
the pressure that it is subjected to. Consider that for a substance to change from its
solid phase to its gas phase the bonds are all fixed in a position and when the
particles have enough energy, they are able to
Azazel Short Story
Ch.1
In a small village, far far way from here. There was a little girl named Azazel, who
was going through the worst hair day you could ever imagine. As she brushes and
brushes her hair more and more gets caught and tangled in her brush. So she flings it
out her window in anger.
Azazel, your mother grows weaker by the day, come say goodbye for I fear this is the
end.
Her father says as he walks into the room and stands behind her
Yikes. That s some head of hair you have there, you had better fix that before you go
outside.
He continued as Azazel continued to fiddle with the tangle of hair on her cowlicked
head. She goes to visit her mother down the hall for what is supposedly the final
time. Ch.2
Azazel s mother lays in her sick bed, dying from makeup poisoning. Azazel rushed to
her mother side. When her mother spotted the mess of her child her eyes widened in
surprise,
My child, my dear precious Azazel. You re such a mess. I have something that will
help you, oh dear... but it will be quite a quest.
The mother states wearily,
Oh please mommy I ll do anything to look better on your last look of me.
Azazel exclaims excitedly at the prospect of taming her hair for her mother s final
breath.
Very well, you need to find the diamond hair tie, the silver hair spray, and the golden
bobby pins. Find the wise woman in the forest of fears to get the bobby pins, she will
tell you where to go next.
As the mother spoke she became more and more tired,
Now go, go before I fall
Some More Facts About Pediatric Speech Therapy
Some more facts about pediatric speech therapy The parents need to be very
observant when it comes to noticing the all over development of the child. Many
times the parents get too upset about the child s development regarding his
responding to the various sounds and noises. Child specialists say that it is crucial for
the childto respond to any conversation or soundin children speech therapy. In many
cases, the parents are not able to detect defects in the speech of the child. By the time
they realize it may be too late. In the case of such problems and defects, the first point
is that the parents should not panic. They have to handle the whole situation with a
lot of patience. They should immediately consult a child expert who works on
pediatric speech therapy. Any speech oriented problem can be cured. But that shall
take time. One cannot lose patience.
The critical developmental stages of children can be categorized into too many
stages. They mark major junctures of the child s development regarding the baby s
maturity. The children developmental stages range according to age. At this juncture,
they have to acquire consultation from some physician or child specialist who can
give them the solution accordingly. They do not want to falter or create risk for the
child regarding health. These tender stages need guidance and proper tutoring when it
comes to cognitive development. One needs to provide them the best solutions to the
problems of the child which is a part of
The Persian Invasion Of Greece
Introduction Through the manuscripts of Herodotus, an ancient historian who
hailed from the mountainous lands of Greece, modern day historians have been
granted the ability to piece together the multitude of events that supposedly
transpired during the years 480 and 479 BC between the Persian empire and the
city states of the classical Greece (Herodotus). The second Persian invasion of
Greece, which took place in the previously mentioned years, was a part of the
many series of battles and encounters that made up the Greco Persian Wars. This
invasion in particular, however, probably saw one of the most distinguished
battles in ancient European warfare befall. As a whole, the second Persian invasion
of Greece consisted of several battles that transpired within a close proximity of
one another chronologically. The war itself was fairly short lived, even for its
time, lasting only the course of approximately one year. The battles themselves
took place in Thermopylae, Artemisium, Salamis, Platae, and Mycale (Setzer). The
Persian invasion forces were led by King Xerxes I of Persia, the son of Darius I of
Persia. Prior to the reign of Xerxes I, King Darius I had wanted to take control of
ancient Greece. As such, he ordered two campaigns which made up the first Persian
invasion of Greece. Much to his hindrance, however, Darius I breathed his last
breath before he was presented with the opportunity to carry out a second invasion.
King Xerxes I, who was the successor of Darius I,
Effective Communication Analysis
One powerful component of constructive communication is the capability to be an
effective listener. Our conversations will continue to reach dead ends if we do not
realize where we may lack in our listening skills, decide to make improvements,
and follow through. Therefore, we are left with two options when we learn we do
not listen well, continue to listen the way we have been or make the conscious
effort to improve and become sharpened listeners. This is one area of my life that I
was made aware of over a year ago. I do not listen! I used to listen to respond,
which was an unhealthy way to communicate. In listening to respond we are putting
a higher value to our thoughts then that of the speaker. As discussed in our text
some of warnings that one may not be a good listener is having the speaker repeat
information already given, criticizing the speakers form of giving information,
breaking the conversation to give your input, either orally or mentally, and giving the
speaker the false gratification that you are listening (Hamilton. C. pp. 119, 120). I
used to be the breaker in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first conversation took place between myself, our counselor, Dr. Bird, and my
husband Giovanni. Myself and Dr. Bird got a 10, while I gave Giovanni an 8. At
one point of the conversation he became fidgety, Dr. Bird had to pause for a
minute and asked him if he was upset. One practice that I began over a year ago
when having important discussions with my husband is keeping a note pad and
writing down key words. I started this because Giovanni can sometimes speak for
an hour or more, by the time he is finished it became difficult to address the first
topic he may have discussed. The other two conversations held I also gave myself
and the other person a 10. I left both conversations with further knowledge and
believe they also gained from my
Black Nationalism Essay
Throughout history, African Americans have encountered an overwhelming
amount of obstacles for justice and equality. You can see instances of these
obstacles especially during the 1800 s where there were various forms of
segregation and racism such as the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan terrorism, Jim
Crow laws, voting restrictions. These negative forces asserted by societal racism
were present both pre and post slavery. Although blacks were often seen as being a
core foundation for the creation of society and what it is today, they never were
given credit for their work although forced. This was due to the various laws and
social morals that were sustained for over 100 years throughout the United States.
However, what the world didn t... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Great Migration was from 1910 1930 and almost 750,000 African Americans
moved into Northern cities; 175,000 moved to Harlem, which made it the largest
black community in the country. This era was known for racial consciousness,
racial integration, dramatic arts and painting. In addition, it was known for the
explosion of music especially jazz and the blues. This outburst of confidence,
expression, creativity and talent sparked the African American drive and created a
rebirth of African American culture. A few of the famous influences were Langston
Hughes, Claude McKay, Duke Ellington Johnson and Louis Armstrong. The
Harlem Renaissance acted as the crossroads for black to interact with others and
expand their contacts, even internationally. Also, African Americans began to
change their image from rural to urban. In other words, they were transforming
themselves from peasants to sophisticates. The Harlem Renaissance allowed for
African Americans to be a force in America even if they couldn t be employed and
seen as equals to whites. It was so influential that African Americans began to gain
power in northern cities such as Chicago and Philadelphia. The Harlem
Renaissance phenomenon sparked the idea of New Negro and led to the drive for
change, giving a sense of Black Nationalism and the ability to express their ideas and
concerns in ways they were
Celebrities Should Be Role Models
No matter what celebrities are looked up upon by somebody, making them a role
model. Celebrities should be considered role models. Celebrities can come in any
shape or form or can be famous for multiple reasons. The reasons behind celebrities
being considered role models are as following, they have a huge following of
supporters, they can help with causes, and they are very inspirational. Overall,
celebrities should be role models. Out of the many reasons backing up celebrities
being role models one of the reasons would be that they have a huge following of
people that either support them or know of them. With this comes a lot of power
that they can use for good. Celebrities could use this following to help kids who
look up to them. If the superstar stayed in school and did not do drugs then the
kids and teens that look up to them will do the same thing. They would think that
they do not have to ditch school and do drugs to be cool. Celebrities could also use
their spotlight to show people different experiences. For example, if a moviestar
post on their social media platform that they are going to go take a hike up to the
hollywood sign, then the followers might want to do the same thing that maybe they
would have never done before. Which, by doing so may show the person that they
love hiking or being outside, giving them a new healthy hobby. Celebrities show their
followers different things all the time that they may not have known before making
them a role model.
Notes On The Instrumental Variable Regression
Instrumental Variable Regression We acknowledge that endogeneity of trading
frequency might be a problem since the price informativeness could have a systematic
influence on the trading activity. A strategy to address the endogeneity problem is to
employ an instrumental variable approach. We choose the official adjustment of
stamp tax on security trading as one instrumental variable. On the one hand, stamp
tax, as an exogenous policy instrument, is not related to the price informativeness. On
the other hand, the change of stamp tax impacts the trading activity endogenously
through the channel of trading cost, e.g. a rise of stamp tax is likely to motivate less
frequent trading due to the rise of trading cost. There are four adjustments... Show

The two stage regressions are reported in Table 8. Column 1 in Panel A shows that
institutional trading frequency is decreasing in the stamp tax, which is consistent
with the fact that raised stamp tax produces higher trading cost. Kleibergen Paap rk
Wald F statistic is a standard test for the weak instrument problem, which is ruled
out since the p value is 0.000. Columns 1 and 2 in Panel B suggest that the results
from baseline regressions hold in IV regressions, where more frequent trading
generates lower price informativeness. Difference in Sargan statistics show that the
2SLS and OLS estimates are the same. (p value ranges from 0.35 to 0.55)

faith. With her lessons we grow less serious, stop being so weary from being know

Essays On Critical Thinking. essay examples: Critical Thinking Essay

  • 1. Essays On Critical Thinking Composing an essay on the subject of critical thinking presents a unique set of challenges that requires a considerable amount of intellectual engagement. Critical thinking, by its very nature, demands a deep and analytical approach to the topic at hand, and writing an essay that effectively conveys these complex ideas can be a daunting task. One of the difficulties lies in the need to balance between providing a clear and coherent argument while also incorporating a level of complexity that reflects the intricacies of critical thinking. Developing a thesis that not only captures the essence of critical thinking but also guides the reader through a logical progression of ideas requires careful consideration and precision in language. Furthermore, critical thinking is not a monolithic concept; it encompasses various aspects such as analysis, evaluation, inference, and interpretation. Navigating through these components and illustrating their interconnectedness in a cohesive manner can be challenging. Ensuring that the essay does justice to the multifaceted nature of critical thinking while maintaining clarity can be a delicate balancing act. Research plays a pivotal role in crafting an essay on critical thinking. Sifting through scholarly articles, academic papers, and philosophical treatises to support and strengthen arguments demands both time and dedication. It requires a keen ability to discern reliable sources from biased ones and to synthesize diverse perspectives into a coherent narrative. Moreover, writing an essay on critical thinking necessitates the cultivation of a personal voice that reflects an understanding of the topic. It involves not only presenting the thoughts of experts but also engaging with them critically and integrating one's own insights. This requires a certain level of intellectual maturity and confidence in one's analytical abilities. In conclusion, writing an essay on critical thinking is no simple feat. It requires a blend of analytical skills, research acumen, and the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner. However, mastering this challenge can lead to a deeper understanding of the subject and an enhanced ability to think critically. For those who find themselves grappling with the intricacies of this task, it's worth considering that assistance in crafting similar essays and more is available through platforms like HelpWriting.net. • 2. My Internship At The Richland County Public Defender s... Introduction My internship is at the Richland County Public Defender s Office and I work directly with two juvenile defense attorneys. My office is at the Richland County Judicial Center. This position is very new and I am the second person to have this internship at USC, so defining my position is very complex. I do not have an on site social work supervisor to turn to when I have questions, so, I have to figure out a lot of things on my own. Being that I work directly with the attorneys, a lot of things I see on the daily are on the legal side and not the social worker side per se. However, the attorneys involve me in the entire process when working with each client to provide a social work perspective to better help the clients and increase the quality of their services. Some of my duties involves researching client information, searching for services and resources for the clients and families, examining IEPs for the attorney and clients, visiting clients while they are in secure locations, attending interagency staffing for clients, advocating for clients and the services they need, and many more tasks. Every day is different and provides multiple opportunities to meet with other professionals and clients. Clients Case Summary Since I started in August 2015, 100% of my clients have been Africa America teenage or youth adult males in Richland County of Columbia. All of them had or have some criminal charges against them: some are awaiting trial or hearings while in
  • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Journalism Journalism is the type of writing that investigates and includes lots of research of good and bad stories and some events. Journalists tend to write news stories that people should know about and haven t already heard. Journalism comes in different categories; some are reporters, writers, editors, and photographers. People who tend to like journalismare those who love language and enjoy writing and reading, are called journalist; they work as reporters at newspapers, magazines, websites, TV stations, and radio stations. Good journalists love to read and want to find out what is going on around them and the world. They write short and long stories as they must write true stories. Journalists write stories that are from real people and they make the stories real too. People are not interested in reading newspapers now as much as they used to long time ago. These days people carry news on their iPods, cell phones, laptops, and more. They can even watch them on TV. A long time ago people knew the news through newspapers or the rich would have a radio which was the only way to know what is going in the world, but now news is everywhere. There are lots requirements needed to get into the program called journalism, how long it takes to be a journalist, and beneficial to public and themselves. Unfortunately, high school course needed to get prepared and ready for the career. When a person knows what career she going into when she still in law school, she can get ready. So by the
  • 4. Research Paper On The Cotton Club The Cotton Club A speakeasy with the best music and performers. The Cotton Club was best known for its wonderful music and great alcohol. It gave black musicians a place to perform and a gateway to fame. The club was also a place where white folks could go to enjoy themselves. Although it was very successful it would be shut down several times but then it would be reopened just as quickly. The Cotton Club was notably one of the best nightclubs of its time. The Cotton Club was not always the same. Before it was known as the Cotton Club it was originally owned by Jack Johnson from 1920 to 1922 . At the time it was known as Club Deluxe. At first it was a four hundred seater theater and dance hall. It was located in the streets of Harlem, New
  • 5. Essay on Hydrogen Fusion is the Future Source of Energy Hydrogen Fusion, the Future Source of Energy Abstract The world is currently in an energy crisis with no end in sight. Many technologies can help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and have the possibility of ending the energy crisis. Hydrogen fusion holds great promise with its no pollution energy output. If more energy can be created than is used to start the fusion process, the energy crisis might become a thing of the past. Over half of the energy used now comes from fossil fuels, which is around 2.77*10^14 KJ in 2003. ITER, which is under construction right now in France, will have the possibility of releasing 500 MW of energy as an output. By developing methods that reduce the energy needed to start the fusion... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... JET is a Tokamak developed by the UK in the 1970 s. JET stands for Joint European Torus. The fuel used in JET is a mixture of deuterium and tritium. It was first fired up in 1983 after five years of construction and in 1997 it hit its peak output of 16 MW. JET is currently shutdown because it is being upgraded to increase its power output to 40 MV. The upgrades are occurring to help out in the development of the largest hydrogen fusion generator, ITER. ITER is the newest fusion generator that is currently under construction in eastern France. It is being funded by the European Union, Russia, the US, Japan, South Korea, and China. The project is expected to run for at least thirty years, ten for its construction and twenty for its usage. The project is expected to cost at leas 10 billion euros, with the European Union paying a hefty part of the sum. The Torus at ITER is designed to create at least 500 MW for about 500 seconds. The problem with hydrogen fusion is that it still is in an experimental phase. Humans are still trying to develop a method to gain more energy than is put in. Molecules of deuterium and tritium are the main components in hydrogen fusion. Both deuterium and tritium are stable isotopes of hydrogen. Fusion shows a lot of promise because it when tritium and deuterium fuse, they release 17.6 MW of energy, the only problem is creating a way to do this efficiently. We believe

  • 8. What Is My Favorite Burger Essay Being the son of a baker, I am constantly trying new foods and recipes. I have had anything from turkey burgers stuffed with blue cheese, bacon, and onions to a healthy shrimp stir fry. Some things that I eat, I dislike very much. Other things I try, I have second and even third helpings.Trying my mom s new recipes always makes me respect good food to a higher extent. This is why my favorite sandwich is a twist on the true American favorite, the burger. I want you to know why this burger is the very best there is. The first thingyou need for the perfect burger is a nicely done bun. What you need for this is a bun without sesame seeds. You also need a little bit of butterand a flat top grill. First, you need take the butter and melt it down... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This burger is no exception. The burger must also be topped with a scrumptious smoked ham and delicious bacon. Both of these should be hot when put on the burger. The ham, since it is smoked, does not need extensive heating which may ruin the beautiful pink color of ham. The bacon itself should be cooked in a very specific and delicate way. It must be cooked to the point where it is no longer flimsy, so which would render it chewy, but not overly crunchy which would render it nearly unedible. For extra flavor, cook both of them in the same place you cooked the burger without removing the burger grease. The next part of the burger is one of the most essential and the easiest part. What you need is a little bit of a smooth, white swiss cheese. However, unlike what many people like to do you should try to refrain from buying the cheapest cheese you can. When it comes to cheese, the higher priced cheese is more expensive for a reason, and it s the way to go. When the cheese is set between the slice of ham and the burger, you want it to melt so it holds the two together, which is something you are not likely to get with a cheaper
  • 9. Impact Of Napster Tiffany Arvelo Brian Wheeler RTV 100 Shawn Fanning and the Lasting Impact of Napster Back when I was a teenager, we would have to buy an entire album just to have one song, Brittni s father explained, to her utter disbelief. Brittni shook her head, thinking of the thousands of songs in her iTunes library, and she wondered how people could afford to buy dozens of albums just for a handful of favorite singles. Buying music over the internet may seem commonplace today, but in the 1990 s, audio on the internet was merely experimental. In 2000, computer programmer Shawn Fanning introduced an internet site called Napster that irrevocably changed the internet, the music industry, and the complex relationship between the two. Many internet users ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Record companies decided to embrace the profitable possibilities of using the internet and began working on legal pay services. These sites attracted customers by offering legal downloads of individual tracks for very low prices. As a result, millions of music lovers today enjoy downloading 99 cent tracks off of online merchants such as iTunes and Amazon. The music industry is also pleased with these legal pay services, because revenue is increasing again due to the ease, cost effectiveness, and widespread popularity of buying and selling music digitally. While Fanning s invention caused a lot of financial damage to the music industry, it also forced them to look towards the future and contemplate how it could adapt to the emerging internet age. Unfortunately, while the recording industry does make plenty of money from legal music downloads, Fanning and his legendary website have become the model for the dozens of illegal music file sharing sites that have emerged over the past 16 years since Napster s launch. The educational eMagazine, SchoolVideoNews, states that, Software such as Gnutella, Limewire, Kazaa...and other free, open source software used to trade any type of file...have been popular networks for pirating music since Napster (Britt). These types of companies, and their users, are constantly discovered and sued by
  • 10. Essay on Access, Quality, and Cost Containment Improving health is in the best interest of everyone, including non health professionals. Health mangers need to be constantly looking for ways to improve access to health, the quality of the care, and cost containment. Often the biggest barriers to accessing healthcare are cost and location. Lower income individuals just do not have the resources to have optimal healthcare, or cannot take the time away from employment to deal with health issues. One potential solution to help with these problems could be telehealth. Telehealth allows a lower level healthcare practitioner to communicate with a physician or specialists when necessary. Remote rural areas use a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner on location in remote areas.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With all the bad science in the media the general public is often confused as to which are the correct choices. Educating the public to be better consumers of science would improve general health and lower the need for access to healthcare (Pincus, Esther, DeWalt, Callahan 1998). There are weaknesses in the proposed plans to improve access. In the case of telehealth nothing can replace the hands on analysis of a trained physician. Any type of trauma care will still require an airlift to a trauma center for care. Complications such as reactions to medications, or complications of child delivery, would leave the patient in the hands of under trained staff. Such a program would require an infrastructure of physicians willing to teleconference. Second it would require an internet or satellite link that could not be disrupted. School health clinics run into the barrier of costs to set up. Districts already have trouble meeting expenses, additional physicians, nurses and staff would cause districts to go over budget. A federal program could help fund, but would require federal control over local control. Second school clinics run into the problem of permission and privacy. Parents for cultural reasons may not grant permission to treat some students. The issue of attempting to improve health promotion is that of receptive audience. Without drama and entertainment the general public is rarely interested. The lower income people targeted by program
  • 11. Examples Of Jim s Relationship In Rebel Without A Cause In the movie Rebel Without a Cause there are many relationships throughout the movie. Some the main characters relationship arcs with the characters Jim, Judy, Plato and also their parents go through relationship with their parents and each other. There main relationships are stray with the parents and then it branches of from that point. One of first characters you met in movie is Jim and when he was playing with the toy in street at night. One the first relationship you see with Jim character is him and his parents and his grandmother in a police station. The main thing between there relationship is that Jim want his father to be more a man and stand to his mother, and his mother is that she always wants to run away from trouble and move away. With the him and his mother wants him to run from his problems while Jim want to face it himself and she goes against his father and what he say. With his father there is some symbolism in the beginning of the movie to show he wants from him he wants him to be more of man and to stand up to his mother. Jim also has short relationship towards Buzz of that they both respect each other and the only reason the do stuff like this is just because they have to do something. Jim has a relationship towards Plato of him trying to be his friend shown as him trying give him his jacket but first rejected it and then later on except the jacket. Bored with his uneventful life he becomes completely obsessed with the lives of his neighbors spending the majority of his waking hours watching them from his window. Thor is the god of thunder and son of Odin, ruler of Asgard in Norse mythology. A powerful God that was next in line for the throne of Asgard. Thor had the power of thunder and was able to control its power with his hammer, which also allows him to fly. Comparing Thorto Jesus, both are powerful beings. Asgard and Heaven are very similar as it is where the Gods/God live. With great power both Thor and Jesus conquered things in their own way. Jesus conquered sin, not by using his fists to fight Satan, but instead he was crucified to stop Satan controls over the people. Where in Soteriology 1 payment for sin. Jesus conquered sin by offering his body, the body of god, to repent for the people of the world s sin. Unlike Jesus, Thor s course of action is not non violence. He comes from Asgard, a world where war was heavily prevalent, which was the reason Thor was banished to earth. He conquered his enemies through his hands. Though both are godly and had similar intentions Thor s course of action for his mission was different from Jesus according to course text. Thor is a savior figure because he saves humanity from God s themselves specifically his brother Loki, who betrayed his family while he was banished by their father Odin. In this film Thor is your typical hero who is powerful and strong. In the beginning Thor thought he

  • 19. The Role Of Modernism In Conrad Vs. Richardson Conrad vs. Richardson: The Fight for the New Woman Modernism emerged onto the literature scene with many purposes, one of which being the experimentation with normative ideals in literature. The emergence of modernism in the western world arrives at a pivotal time during the women s rights movement (Ross 25). Dorothy Richardson s The Tunnel, the fourth book in a thirteen book series titled Pilgrimage, is an influential and early feminist novel for its date of publication of 1918. Miriam Henderson, the protagonist of this novel leads a life completely independent from the financial and social stability that a man may bring to a marriage. Though Miriam experiences a certain level of tumult towards her role in society as a new woman, Richardson provides the entirety of the novel for Miriam s growth and agency of her own life. Joseph Conrad, a prominent author during the modernist period, claims in his Author s Note that his novel The Secret Agent is telling Winnie Verloc s story (Conrad 36), despite Mr. Verloc s self proclaimed nature as a secret agent . Conrad s attempts at creating a feminist and modernist image of Winnie are shadowed by the constant presence of a man behind her actions. Conrad s use of repetition of the words free woman in the text falsifies this claim even further. If the purpose of modernist literature is to break conventions of the past such as gender ideals of women in marriage, why do The Tunnel and The Secret Agent differ so wildly in their

If the Jaguars contend for the playoffs this year, it will be because of their defense. The AFC West won t be as competitive as the South, but it will feature one of the closest races in the NFL. The Raiders went 12 4 last year and only improved in the offseason, especially at the running back position with the acquisition of Marshawn Lynch. Kansas City suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Divisional round last year, but the AFC West champs last year will once again contend for the division. With mediocre quarterback play, the Broncos will remain a mediocre team. If Trevor Siemian or Brock Osweiler step up their play, the Broncos could be in the running for a playoff spot. The Los Angeles Chargers moved away from San Diego to get a fresh start, which is typically not what a winning team does, so it is no surprise that the Chargers will be the bottom feeders in the AFC West. If Ezekiel Elliott s suspension affects the Cowboys, this divisional race will be one of the tightest in football. However, I don t think Elliott s suspension will. Dallas has the best offensive line in football and any running back can run behind it (Darren McFadden rushed for over 1,000 yards two years ago). The New York Giants are a trendy playoff pick with an improvement in the receiving core and the assumed development of their defense. New York also has a favorable schedule, which could allow them to rack up wins.

Analysis Of The Canterbury Tales Will Kasdan Mrs. Nagel British Literature 11.2 25 May, 2017 Here s Where the Story Ends Fables and myths constitute the foundation of nearly every culture, and are passed down through generations, never losing their meaning and allure. Many factors make a story special, including its plot, essence, and characters, but only the storyteller holds within themselves the potential to deliver a narration that will inspire their audience and leave a lasting mark. In a quaint example of metafiction, many novels have been published with a central theme of storytelling. Two such examples following this concept is The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1478, and Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley 1818. Three characters in The ... The Wife of Bath and The Monster quickly intrigue their respective audiences by flooding them with emotion. The Wife of Bath shares her negative views on marriage, while The Monster prepares to tell his heartbreaking story. By expressing their emotions, both narrators are able to share their beliefs and views, impacting their listeners. This is just one power of storytelling, where an outpour of emotions can be so powerful moving, having a profound effect on the audience. In addition, by articulating their emotions, the storytellers give the crowd an opportunity to enter their own minds, further allowing the audience to experience the story from the eyes of the narrator. Another critical facet in storytelling lies in parables, which carry moral lessons. In his fable, the Pardoner imparts a crucial message of the destructiveness of greed. In his prologue, the Pardoner makes his explanation very clear: But let me briefly make my purpose plain / I preach for nothing but for the greed of gain / And use the same old text, as bold as brass / Radix malorum est cupiditas (Chaucer 243). Providing another meaningful anecdote is The Monster, who explains how love is a powerful emotion that can get one through loneliness and isolation. • 24. Unknown Vs Evil In Frankenstein One of the many themes in James Whale s 1931 film Frankenstein is that of the known vs the unknown or good vs evil. Whale uses the motif of fire as a powerful extension of what the good can do to the darkness. Fire is used as a way to keep the Monster or the evil representation of the film in isolation and outside of the known world and also as a way to show that the known or good will always win against the unknown or evil. Known vs unknown or good vs evil falls into the category of a knowledge narrative according to Andrew Tudor. Tudor says that the narrative itself functions by proposing the existence of a body of knowledge capable of mediating between these domains of known and unknown (83). The first distinct moment where there is realization of the darkness/unknown trying to seep into the world of the light/known is when Henry Frankenstein says that his monster has only been kept in complete darkness and to wait until [he] brings him into the light (30:30 30:35). After his speech the Monster walks into the room and Frankenstein closes the light as if to wait for the right moment to bring him into light or the world of the known. When the Monster finally sits down on a chair, Frankenstein opens the window on the roof to reveal the sunlight (32:07). If one is intended to believe that Socrates means any form of life and any form of death, then I fully support his four arguments in totality and would take back all of my previous claims. However, he doesn t openly say that the transmigration of the soul reaches beyond humans and into animals or other living organisms. For this reason, his fourth argument is rather unnecessary and is repetitive. Socrates fails to bring any new knowledge to the table, and is simply reiterating points that he made in his previous three arguments. It seems that he has ran out of justifications for his beliefs, so he finalizes with his main point all along instead of presenting a new argument. I applaud Socrates for this, as he wants his peers to realize that he believes his soul will live on and that is all that should matter for him on the day of his death. An inclusive national identity can serve as a means for the development of belonging, and this globally acclaimed notion of diversity is attractive for nations struggling to find their footing in the international community. Looking towards the future, the key to achieving this inclusion is the use of culture, specifically employing music as a tool of integration. However, the decisive variable here is adolescents. Though these popular music forms may be the music of the people, they are ultimately dictated by the youth. In modern times, music is integral for youth as they delve into discourses of identity and equality, so focusing in on marginalized youth gives the government an opportunity to explore attitudes and national inclusion among individuals who are in a critical period of development. Even though teens are influenced by their parents beliefs during childhood before advancing their own views, youth are ultimately the starting point for incorporating ostracized groups into nationalist discourses because they are the developers and executors of music movements. Furthermore, the attitudes of young people regarding inclusion and exclusion provide an indication for the sustainability of such diverse national identities in the future. Though, I was a child, it was not the first time I had seen a critical patient with a busy medical crew around. I grew up in a hospital where both my parents worked full time. Gradually I started imbibing the quintessential values of a medical career to the point when helping others was no longer an act, but a way of living life. This is why I believe, medicinehas not just been my career choice but a personal journey of self discovery and human revelation. In 2004, I donated all my savings to the Tsunami relief fund, which sowed the seeds for the growth of the person I had chosen to become. Since then, years of experience as a president and a member of various Non governmental organizations (NGO) including the American Red Cross Society has inculcated in me the compassion and leadership qualities. During my medical school, attending several enlightening workshops on Art of living and meditation, assimilated in me higher moral values and an inner code of conduct. While, the hardships of staying away from home at a boarding school with acute shortage of basic amenities were testing me, I maintained a rank in top few students throughout my medical school. Teaching health issues and nutritional requirements to primary school teachers and in Primary Health Care(PHC) centers of villages, exposed me to a completely

The Human Rights Act 1998 The Human Rights Act 1998 The Human Rights Act 1998 was fully enforced in 2000 and describes further effect to freedoms and rights that are entitled under the ECHR (the European Convention on Human Rights) (Ward, Wragg Walker 2011, p. 146). The constitutional framework of the United Kingdom implies that the Human Rights Act 1998 is not embedded in the same way as the human rights papers that are adopted by many nations in the world. Nonetheless, it is argued that any attempt to amend or repeal the provisions of the Human Right Act 1998 s would necessitate the clearest probable words. It is significant to note that the scheme of the Human Rights Act is complicated, as it requires public authorities to undertake their functions in compatible with the ECHR, and it provides the Convention and related jurisprudence with an important influence over the domestic law interpretation (Ward, Wragg Walker 2011, p. 147). Conversely, it impedes the courts from invalidating incompatible Parliament s Act and in this respect; it does not provide the Convention with a primacy over domestic law. This paper seeks to evaluate the degree to which the Human Rights Act 1998 has fully incorporated the ECHR into the United Kingdom s legal system. ECHR The creation of ECHR can be traced back to 1950 after the formation of the United Nations. As a war shattered continent, Europe was determined to create a free Europe by developing a human rights document enshrining human rights and ardent

Uncle Tom s Cabin is an emotional anti slavery novel that explains the hardships slaves went through and the life of Tom, a strong religious man, from his beginning on the Shelby plantation, to the end when he finally escapes slavery with his dear friend Eliza, but is encountered with harsh death from Simon Legree for refusing to deny his faith. The issue of whether to admit Texas remained divisive, with opponents of slavery condemning the admissions of Texas as a territorial grab intended to create a new slave state. Following the ratification of the treaty, some politicians felt the manifest destiny of the United States was to annex all of Mexico. The territory gains between 1845 and 1848 were enough to satisfy all but the most zealous advocates of manifest destiny. John O Sullivan criticized the opponents of Texas annexation. He went beyond the immediate issue of Texas to argue that it is the fate of America to grow to encompass much, if not all of the North American continent. There are several different types of harassment that can take place within a professional environment. Harassment goes hand in hand with the different types of workplace discrimination and include racial and color, religion, sexual, age and disability. Any individual made to feel uncomfortable in a work environment or are not hired or advanced when qualified solely based on any of these reasons is a victim of workplace harassment and discrimination. An additional factor in workplace harassment is that it is based on the employee s interpretation of the situation and how they feel. As seen in the past, as the world and our society continue to change there will be more ways to interpret each type of harassment, this will open employers for more instances of harassment. Racial and color harassment and discrimination has been an ongoing issue in the United States for decades. Racial and color discrimination is when an applicant or employee is hired, fired, paid, assigned jobs or promoted based on their race or color. This also includes the terms of employment based on the race and color of the spouse of an applicant or employee (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.). These three connected experiences can lead to them developing a mental illness if the stress becomes long term. Firstly, when the academic pressure and work load for students rises when they come to university, they will feel stressed. Secondly, since university is expensive, it may be very stressful for students to pay for tuition and living costs. Lastly, students who are starting university will face a lack of family support systems, difficulty finding friends, and difficulty leaving home which will lead to them feeling stressed. Firstly, when the academic pressure and work load on students rises when they come to university, they will feel stressed as they adjust to the change of scholarly expectations. Students in university face the challenges of having more assignments and tougher examinations than in high school, which students may not be prepared for beforehand. The other academic factors that contribute to higher stress levels are familial induced pressure to succeed, scholarship requirements, and higher education requirements (Bedewy and Gabriel). Other factors that also have the highest rate of academic stress are, course loads, lack of

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This topic appealed to me, as it seemed like a sound concept in theory, but could not find any discussion based on using the Arrhenius plot for physical processes. BACKGROUND INFORMATION 2.1 Sublimation; an endothermic process Sublimation is the term describing the transition of a substance from the solid phase to the gas phase without passing through an intermediary liquid phase. (Anne Marie Helmenstine 2014a) It is a physical change of state, which occurs at temperatures and pressures below the triple point of the substance, the point where the temperature and pressure causes the 3 phases: solid, liquid and vapour, of a single component system to be in equilibrium. (Blackwell Scientific Publications Oxford 1997) This definition shows that sublimation is a purely physical process; so a substance does not undergo a chemical reaction during sublimation. This diagram represents a typical endothermic reaction: Fig. 2: Endothermic reaction enthalpy change (hferrier n.d.) As displayed in figure 2, a substance requires kinetic energy greater or equal to its activation energy in order for it to change from its initial form to its product. The activation energy shown is one of the pathways that a reaction takes with respect to the pressure that it is subjected to. Consider that for a substance to change from its solid phase to its gas phase the bonds are all fixed in a position and when the particles have enough energy, they are able to

The second Persian invasion of Greece, which took place in the previously mentioned years, was a part of the many series of battles and encounters that made up the Greco Persian Wars. This invasion in particular, however, probably saw one of the most distinguished battles in ancient European warfare befall. As a whole, the second Persian invasion of Greece consisted of several battles that transpired within a close proximity of one another chronologically. The war itself was fairly short lived, even for its time, lasting only the course of approximately one year. The battles themselves took place in Thermopylae, Artemisium, Salamis, Platae, and Mycale (Setzer). The Persian invasion forces were led by King Xerxes I of Persia, the son of Darius I of Persia. A strategy to address the endogeneity problem is to employ an instrumental variable approach. We choose the official adjustment of stamp tax on security trading as one instrumental variable. On the one hand, stamp tax, as an exogenous policy instrument, is not related to the price informativeness. On the other hand, the change of stamp tax impacts the trading activity endogenously through the channel of trading cost, e.g. a rise of stamp tax is likely to motivate less frequent trading due to the rise of trading cost.
