Equiano s Narrative Of The Captivity And Restoration Of...
What would you do if you were taken by people you did know, and were held captive for ransom
for 11 weeks or were sold into the slave trade at the age of 10? These events happened to two
people from different countries, and at completely different points in time. Both narratives show
journeys of hardship A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson and
The Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equianoor Gustavus Vassa, the African . Mary Rowlandson
s story is about her journey through an 11 week period in which she was held captive by Native
Americans during the King Philip s war, she was taken in exchange for ransom, as they needed

this part of her story why she was worse off than Equiano. Rowlandson during the start of her
captivity, is shown to be treated horribly. Equiano on the other hand, was treated like an equal at
the start of his captivity. The next day I was washed and perfumed, and when mealtime came I
was led into the presence of my mistress, and ate and drank before her and her son. This filled me
with astonishment; and I could scare help expressing my surprise that the young gentlemen
should suffer me, who was bound, to eat with him who was free... (Equiano 60). While staying
at the house, Equiano was treated respectfully by his mistress and her family. He ate with them
at mealtime, also eating and drinking before the son, because of a custom they believed. It gave
Equiano hope, he finally began thinking that he was going to be apart of the family. As he was
treated like an equal there. It gave him motivation to overcome all of the obstacles in his life. So
he could finally have the life he deserves. I believe that due to the facts present, Equiano was
treated much better than Rowlandson. He was treated as an equal and it seemed that he was soon
going to became part of the family. Rowlandson on the other hand, had to accept the death of her
youngest daughter, and wasn t even present at her burial.

The choices of Equiano and Rowlandson were acutely different. Equiano s choices were to help

The Interest Of The Germans Essay
The Interest of the Germans World War II was a difficult time in human history. A country rise up
to power and took radical actions to achieve their goal and create a world that they find ideal.
Some Germans were force to leave Germany for being Jewish, and others for multiple reasons. As a
result, these Germans made Latin Americaas their safe haven away from what used to be their
home. The United Stateseventually had got in the involvement of the war and a main concerned
they had were these Germans who live in Latin America. The chief interest for the lives of these
Jewish, non Jewish Germans, was only important to their own benefit, or to secure their safety in
the war. The United States government created a Black List . A lost that had Germans in Latin
America, that were possibly to pose a threat. They would receive this information by Informers
that provide privilege information to the U.s government. The United States believed that some of
these Germans moved to Latin America could have been working under the Nazi party. In

Actions to get what they needed from the Latin American countries. United States, Hoover

Le An Objective For Prohibition
Abstract: Lean is a conspicuous theory and application which expects the use of a wide range of
assets for any reason, other than the production of significant worth for the end client to be
inefficient, and subsequently an objective for prohibition. The theory and mindset communicated
by an arrangement of standards, supplemented by various devices and systems helps for waste
abolition, equipped execution change, stock diminishment, and ideal quality level to the end
clients. It is one of the principal and far reaching ideas that add to organizations everywhere
throughout the globe to increase upper hand and thrive on the global market. (ДЊiarnienД—
VienaЕѕindienД—, 2015) Introduction: These day s organizations everywhere throughout the world
are confronting with expanding demands from clients and competitors. Clients have higher desires,
and makers can meet these desires by expanding item s quality, diminishing conveyance time, and
reducing costs or a mix of these three categories. These push business organizations to actualize
new generation methodologies to upgrade their intensity in the worldwide commercial center. Lean
is a coordinated arrangement of standards, practices, apparatuses, and procedures which expect the
consumption of a wide range of assets for any reason other than the making of significant worth
for the end client to be inefficient, and in this manner an objective for avoidance. The end of non

Examples Of Growing Distrust Between People And Government
Growing Distrust Between People and Government
Politicians throughout history have a deplorable reputation. When people hear the word politician,
they think of the words corrupt, dishonest, selfish. These thoughts are only exacerbated by recent
political scandals that occurred in modern history. Two examples of these scandals are seen in Ben
Paynter s article, Ripple Effect , featured in the June 2016 edition of Wired. In this article, Ben
Paynter showed the political failures during the Washington D.C. water crisis and the 2015 Flint
Water Crisis, and how they affected the public s opinion on politicians and the government.
An example of political incompetence and dishonesty appeared in Flint, Michigan during the early
months of 2015. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Edward s contract was not renewed after this complaint. (Paynter 94) Soon after, the
Washington Post exposed this cover up to the public. (Paynter 94) As a result of this exposed
story, the EPA advised people to flush their water lines. (Paynter 94) However, the EPA s health
advice actually increased [lead] exposure (Paynter 94) to the whole water line. Soon after,
congressional investigations found that hundreds, maybe thousands, of children had been affected
[because] municipal authority in DC had disregarded test results for years (Paynter 94). This
catastrophe is almost similar to the situation that occurred in Flint. It was a result of government
back tracking and ignoring common warning signs. However, this occurred during 2003, before the
massive explosion of mobile devices and the Internet. There was little public response unlike the
incident in Flint that occurred a decade later.
A result of the DC water crisis and the Flint Water Crisis was a growing distrust between Americans
and its own government. As further news came out of Michigan about the government s response,
this disconnect between the people and its government intensified. For example, as Ben Paynter
interviewed native Flint residents, he found there to be distrust people from any level of
government (92). Marc Edwards, the leading environmental engineer that spearheaded both
investigations said, These agencies over every objection I made, went ahead and poisoned

Essay on Biography of Michael Phelps
Credibility is an important characteristic to have. How credible you are means how trustworthy
and reliable you are. I think my athletic trainer is credible. He is good at what he does and always
knows how to help anyone who is injured so I trust he knows what he is doing. If he never knew
what to do and could not help you he would not be a very credible athletic trainer. This shows that
your actions can affect your credibility. I think Michael Phelpsis a credible person when it comes to
swimming. He was very successful though his credibility took a hit when he was pictured holding a
marijuana pipe (Crouse).

because he was an amazing swimmer. Kids looked up to Phelps wanting to be like him someday.
Three months after his history making swims in Beijing, Michael Phelps was caught with a
glass pipe, or bong, that is used for smoking marijuana (Papa). A picture of Phelps holding the
pipe and looking like he was smoking was published in a British newspaper in 2009 (Crouse).
The picture was taken while he was at a party (Papa). Phelps did not ever admit to smoking
marijuana but did apologize (Mail Foreign Service). He said I engaged in behavior which was
regrettable and demonstrated bad judgement ... For this, I am sorry (Papa). Phelps still got
punished. He was banned from competing in any swimming competitions for three months by

Awakenings
The movie Awakenings starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro portrays the true story of a
doctor named Dr. Malcolm Sayer, and the events of the summer of 1969 at a psychiatric hospital
in New York. Dr. Malcolm Sayer, who is a research physician, is confronted with a number of
patients who had each been afflicted with a devastating disease called Encephalitis Lethargica. The
illness killed most of the people who contracted it, but some were left living statues; speechless,
motionless, and helpless.
Dr. Malcolm Sayer, when introduced to these patients and their prospective cases, took on what was

Recently I watched a fascinating movie which related psychology and experimental drug usage.
The movie was quite long, and had a variety of high points and low points. A few main aspects
were touched on and could be related directly to my class and the information we have covered
over the past few weeks. It would crucial to summarize the movie first and then compare and
contrast it to the information I have been presented with in my psychology class.

Gaap And Ifrs Convergence
GAAP and IFRS convergence
Abstract
Background
Two types of accounting systems exist. The US GAAP is more rule based, where IFRS is more
principle based. US GAAP gives very detailed methods of accounting and specific guidance.
However, there are exceptions along with rules, which add complexity. In the contrast, IFRS allows
potential for different interpretations of similar transactions. Auditors and financial statement
reporters can use professional judgment to provide estimates in the financial statements because
they cannot rely on specific rules that articulate what is supposed to be done.
Convergence
The IASB and the US FASB have set a long term strategic priority to achieve convergence of IFRS
and US GAAP into a common set of high

In the south it was almost impossible to find any aspect of life that was not segregated. The schools
were segregated and the restaurants were segregated. There was Colored Only bathrooms, and

The boycott needed something to really publicize it, something that would make it a point of

something did happen it could have a positive effect on the outcome of the Bus Boycott.
On February 21, 1956 M.L.K and 88 other priests and leaders of the boycott were indicted under an
old state law prohibiting boycotts. The arrests of these men caused a story of national interest,
pointing all eyes of the country on the boycott going on in Montgomery. Since, M.L.K was the

Alice In Wonderland Essay
Throughout AliceВґs Adventures in Wonderland, Alice encounters numerous creatures. These
creatures challenge, guide or offend Alice, which in the end helps her grow and rediscover herself.
All characters are important to AliceВґs growth, yet some are more important than others. The first
character Alice encounters is the White Rabbit. During their meeting, the Rabbit mistakes Alice for
his maid Mary Ann, and requests she get his gloves and fan, which he forgot at home. His attitude
towards Alice, and others he considered inferior, is rather pompous, but he acts humble and shows

Truman set on his journey to Europe for the Grand Alliance meeting between the three leading

Dr Strangelove is the more comical version of the issues at hand, involving the Cold War. The
filmmakers of Dr. Strangelove took the idea of this horrible bomb and projected it to be comical
and something that we should just accept. The subtitle of the movie How I learned to stop
worrying and love The Bomb was implying we shouldn t worry about nuclear bombs for the
reason that there is nothing an ordinary person, can do to stop it. The subtitle is a way of saying
that no one is really in control over the deployment of nuclear weapons. In Dr. Strangelove they
recognized that the Soviet Union had been working on a Doomsday device. An obsessive right
wing commander found a way to declare red alert, that lead to a domino effect of events that were
unstoppable resulting in mass destruction. At the beginning of the movie they placed a disclaimer
stating that the Air Force would prevent [this type of incident from happening, and that] none of
the characters portrayed in this film are meant to represent any real persons living or dead (Dr.

seemed to influence many of the jokes that were portrayed throughout the movie. Characters were

Mattel and Ttoy Recalls
The Mattel and the Toy Recalls integrative case poses six questions (four from the case and two
from the professor) which will be addressed in this analysis.
1.What went wrong with Mattel s recall strategy?
The strategy used by Mattel in the toy recall was focused on passing the blame to China s work
practices and materials used. Mattel prematurely placed disproportionate blame on Chinese
manufacturers and appeared defensive and somewhat fearful. In addition, the toy manufacture
delayed reporting to the CPSC by a month and a half after they found out that the toys contained
lead paint, even though the CPSC guidelines state that a re call should be issued in 24 hours.
2.Who are Mattel s stakeholders, who did Mattel cater to in the ... Show more content on

Given the circumstances Mattel did what it had to do from the standpoint of communication to
reduce the reputational damage and keep the stock price afloat.
Regaining consumer confidence and controlling the dissemination of product safety information
requires strong corporate communicators who can deliberately balance supplier, customer,
governmental, media, and investor relationships.
4.What should Mattel do know and in the future?
First and foremost Mattel should improve two way, interpersonal communication with two key
customers: parents and the retailers. Corporate communication campaigns should increase
interaction with consumers online via message boards and social media. Retailers have the most
face to face contact with consumers. Mattel should equip them to answer consumer questions
comprehensively and accurately.
In the future Mattel should aim to anticipate future crises by scanning domestic and international
consumer watch groups, industry websites and work even closer with CPSC. The understanding of
domestic and international markets is crucial in being ready to prevent any safety related issues that
are on the horizon. Mattel should strive to ensure that each country receives products held to the
same safety standards as the US. Sub standard products should not be dumped on developing
markets. The one miss for a lot of international companies is the lack of understanding cultural
nuances and

An Article On The Iphone 6s And 6s Plus
With the recent release of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, I have been looking at my iPhone 5s like it
s time to upgrade to the newest model. I found this assignment to be super helpful, because I
would be researching the new iPhone and I was going to do that anyway. I searched on the
National Newspaper Core website and read an article from the Wall Street Journal. This article was
a summary that discussed the main issues with the previous iPhone, and the improvements to solve
those problems. The second article I read, was an article from TechRadar and it was the complete
opposite of the Wall Street Journal Article. This article was 10 pages long and discussed all
specifications of the new phones in great detail and length. It was interesting because the first
article had a very friendly tone even though it was discussing some unresolved issues with the
phone. But, it still made me think purchasing the phone was a good decision. Whereas, the
TechRadar article had a much different tone, which made it seem like the phone did not live up to
the elevated price and may not be a good investment.
The Wall Street Journal article was titled iPhone 6s Review: A Slightly BetteriPhone 6; the iPhone
6s addresses most of our smartphone complaints, but not the biggest better battery . The title alone

Considerations of Food Safety
Food safety is one of the primary concerns in our industry, especially to those who process food
in large amounts. Therefore, proper sanitation must be provided in order to destroy
microorganisms that could possibly spoil and contaminate food products. Sanitizers are
substances used to reduce and inhibit most microorganisms present in surfaces of equipment and
utensils. They are usually in the form of liquid mixture applied directly on the surface of
equipment or any material that may come in contact with the food (Parker, 2007). In 2007,
Harrison and Davidson revealed that the most common sanitizers used in foods are hypochlorites,
chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics. However, in 2009, Schmidt discovered that use of
these chemicals could cause corrosion, discoloration of products, and distortion of flavor and odor
(see Appendix). Also, carelessly handling of these chemicals could also risk the personnel
performing sanitation. Because of the hazardous effects of these chemicals (hypochlorites,
chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics) in food industry, there is a necessity to find
alternative methods to further reduce microorganisms. At the same time, it should also have less
effect to the quality of the food being tested. Bacteriocin, a substance produced by microorganisms,
plays a defensive role in prohibiting invasion of strains or species. Thus, it could serve the purpose
of a being a sanitizer since it has high anti microbial activity. This substance,

education, or architectural preservation. However, history can be complex and ugly, stained by war,
genocide, and destruction. Therein lies a philosophical controversy: should these historical stains be
acknowledged or buried? What role do these ugly histories have in the development of a society?
Within the last century, no nation has been forced to confront these questions on the same scale
that Germanyhas (Levinger 118). With a twentieth century historymarked by hatred and the abuse
of power, National Socialism and Soviet communism, Germany s dark history lies only decades in
the past. For this reason, these histories remain freshly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In essence, historic preservation roots collective memory in a physical, tangible space. To many
scholars, memory in this context is not simply information that is recalled and retold (qtd. in Till
11). Instead, it is the act of continuously finding and contextualizing history by means of physical
space. Preservation of historical architecture is therefore unique, as it juxtaposes this history and
memory with the surrounding modern world. This highlights the importance of preserving history
through architecture, rather than museums, textbooks, and archives alone. By preserving the
physical remnants of a city s dark history, residents and passersby are forced to confront this
history nondeliberately. Moreover, according to Rudy J. Koshar, a preserved site must maintain
some present value or purpose. This is particularly relevant when considering the preservation of
buildings or sites which represent a history that is controversial or shameful, as it is important to
balance the shame evoked by this space with the benefits of its preservation.
The task of historic preservation is especially challenging in nations such as Germany which have
pasts that many are reluctant to remember. Germany is a particularly interesting case, as it is now
recognized as one of the most progressive, economically powerful, and politically liberal countries
in the world. Yet, no comparably modern country is

Analysis Of The Second Sex
I n today s society, the human body is placed on a pedestal for the world to critique. Both women
and men are seen as individuals that are supposed to act, dress, and look a certain way. If they
falter, they are seen as strange and sometimes called names; this is especially true for women.
According to society, man is womans better half, and many philosophers have shown interest in
this correlation. Beauvoir, in her book The Second Sex, she talks about how women are the
other and are seen as being less than men are. Also, Young explains in her paper, Throwing Like
a Girl, how men and women approach certain obstacles differently. Along with Young s, paper a
company called Always made a promo #LikeAGirl and put into practice what Young states in her
paper. Though these philosophers and company have tried to push for woman equality, other
companies, such as Hardies, have stopped their efforts. So why do we see women as the lesser
half? It is because, how we see the humanbody, particularly women, is in direct correlation to
where and how we are raised. Before you can describe what the difference between men and
women is, you must first understand what it means to be a woman. As Beauvoir explains in her
book The Second Sex,
Everyone agrees there are females in the human species; today, as in the past, they make up about
half of humanity; and yet we are told that femininity is in jeopardy ; we are urged, be woman, stay
woman, become woman. So not every female human being

Moving to Rowad Alkhaleej

Moving to Rowad Alkhaleej was my father?s brilliant idea. One of his friends advised him to
transfer me along with my brothers. How did it changed me, why did it change me, all I?m going
to cover and explain in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the first period of the first school day, an American teacher came talked to us, welcomed us,
and introduced us to the school. But it was so difficult to understand what he says, he spoke so
rapidly and in an accent that I listened only while watching movie. From this moment I knew I?m

And I still admire it. But the thing Rowad Alkhaleej added was the fact that we in some specific
years in the school, had days called sports days. That allowed all people in the school?s campus to
participate in, either playing football or other sport or only watching. In those days we had the
opportunity to challenge our teachers in football. It felt so joyful, and we had so much excitement
in those days. Those days could easily break the invisible walls between the teachers and their
student. And show the students how nice teachers sometimes are. Even the principle whom we
thought was a mighty person, played respectfully with us.
Finally, I really thank my father do for securing my future with this great school. And I would to
thank the friend of him who gave the advice. This school allowed me to build a character that I
never thought I would. And thank myself too. For desire to change and be better in life, and

Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs
Throughout human history people have sought to better themselves and ascend to higher levels
beyond what others thought possible. As many might say, life is more than just surviving, it is
about doing the things one dreams of, learning new things, mastering new skills, and being with the
people that one enjoys being with. On the contrary, not all people get to do any of those things. It
seems that the ultimate goal is self actualization and life fulfillment, yet why do people never seem
to reach that point?
Humanistic psychology is a value orientation that holds a hopeful, constructive view of human
beings and of their substantial capacity to be self determining (AHP). It focuses on the self,
experiences, and motivation systems unrelated to rewards or unconscious desires (McLeod,
Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs). Abraham Maslow, one of the leading psychologists in humanistic
psychology, conceived the idea of the hierarchy of needs that revealed what motivates people to do
the things that they do. Similarly, Carl Rodgers later added that for a person to grow , they need an
environment that provides them with genuineness, acceptance, and empathy (McLeod, Carl
Rogers). In Maslow s hierarchy of needs one cannot get to the top without first starting from the
bottom and working upwards through each level. As can be seen in the diagram on page 2, from
the bottom up Maslow states that physiological needs must be met, then safety, love, esteem, and
self actualization. The key is

The Eighties
The nineteen eighties were the most important and remembered decades; Ronald Reagan, MTV,
cliques, fashion icons and Blockbuster. High school was different than today. The Breakfast Club
(1985) by John Hughes was the most iconic movie to sum up the eighties; a movie delving into
the different stereotypes and stigma of mental illness and bullying, in high school. Adolescence
was the time of transition between childhood and adulthood; it is a time for sense of identity.
(Chronological Description) For example, there were many labels used on the students by others.
(Exemplification) There was the jock, rich girl, geek, outcast, and the rebel. (Objective
Description) In the end it had also showed that perspective stereotypes do not matter. The clothing
was represented on what was worn in the eighties, in which the trend is slowly coming back into
style. The Breakfast Club best describes this era because of how the students labeled each other,
disrespected one another, and by the way they dressed. During and after the 1980 presidential
election, the Reagan Democrats provided millions of crucial votes for the Republican candidate,
Ronald Reagan.( Morning in America,16) He won 51 percent of the vote; once a Hollywood actor,
his outwardly reassuring disposition and optimistic style appealed to many Americans. (Ethos) His

Revisionist Tactics in Animal Farm The revisionist history casts a false light on actual events and
misrepresents reality. The book Animal Farm is a vicious assessment of the history and rhetoric of
the Russian Revolution. Retelling the story of the emergence and development of Soviet
communism in the form of an animal fable, Animal Farm allegorizes the rise to power of the
dictator Joseph Stalin. In the novella, the overthrow of the human oppressor Mr. Jones by a
democratic coalition of animals quickly gives way to the consolidation of power among the pigs.

They also work to convince the animals of Napoleon s superior bravery during that battle. So

his nine huge dogs ringed about him and growling, he stages an inquisition and a purge: he
forces certain animals to confess to their participation in a conspiracy with Snowball and then
has the dogs tear out these supposed traitors throats. Here the revisionist or the pigs alter the facts
to receive legitimacy from the other animals. They created the story of Snowball selling himself

Both human and economic cost of global hazards are increasing over time due to one reason,
this reason is that global hazards are more frequent in the present day. Global hazards can be

constant frequency throughout the ages as they are formed by tectonic or geological processes,
which can t be affected by human factors, an example of this type of event is an Earthquake or

Analysis of Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the
conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.
Adam Smith
The reasons for writing a book such as Adam Smith s The Wealth of Nations are many, and Smith
seems to have had several in mind. His study traces the stages in the development of the modern
economic system in an attempt to explain it, maps out the origins of money, and finally tackles the
issues facing the mercantile system which controlled the society he lived in. In the process, he
provides an exposition for his vision of a laissez faire economy, that is, capitalism as we now know
it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking at his own society s economic system, Smith explores the division of labour, the role it has
to play in industrialization, and its general impact upon the wealth of the state.
Smith regards the division of labour and the resultant specialization as the key to increasing the
productivity of labour, rather than the increase in mechanization since the
Industrial Revolution began, as many would argue. Naturally, a highly specialized economic unit
would be dependent upon interaction with other, similarly specialized units, and Smith illustrates
that a system of fair and accessible trade is necessary for an efficient use of labour.
The much quoted example of the pin maker is used to demonstrate Smith s point about the
division of labour. Despite its questionable accuracy, this example does much to illustrate the
plight of labour under a system of increasing specialization. That is to say, it shows the boredom
and melancholia which can be associated with repetitious and laborious work. For Smith, however,
any such problem is amply compensated for by the relative prosperity of a society based upon
specialized markets and trades. For instance,

It is important for students to come out of grade school equipped with skills relevant to today s

technology. It is a tool used everywhere and it is impotent to understand how it works in our daily

This would allow schools to implement curriculums that teach computer programming and other
programs (like Microsoft Office, etc.) in parallel as students get into higher grades. A counter
argument to this would be that computers and computer programming is too complicated for
students of such a young age to learn. While it is true that programming in a professional setting
involves learning complicated programming languages and syntax, this doesn t mean it s not
possible for students in grades as early as kindergarten to learn basic programming skills. For
example, various Educational programming languages (EPLs), such as Scratch and E toys, have
been developed for K 12 students . . . These EPLs use a tile scripting based on a graphic user
interface as a coding method, instead of typing text commands. This makes the instructions easy to
learn and helps students reduce syntax errors (Shim 1). Therefore, integrating computer
programming into even the earliest grades in school would be possible. Another counter argument
to integrating computer programming in school is that kids, especially young ones, tend to spend
too much time on computers and other electronic devices, and frequently spending time on
computers to learn computer programming will only encourage this. It is true that if computer
programming was taught in schools, this would make it so kids are introduced to computers at a

Examples Of Cheating
Cheating, people do it, but what about the penalties that are given to the people who are caught?
People cheat on many things: school, sports, and, but not limited to, relationships. But there are
many ways to cheat in those multiple examples, like in sports cheating can happen with: drugs,
academic eligibility, or even through recruiting. With all the sports the focus could be on, college
basketball seems to have the easiest examples of cheating. What makes college basketball coaches
break the rules, is it worth the penalty?
Roy Williams has had an unproven history of not obeying the academic rules, but he was

Negative Effects Of Television Violence On Society
Television Violence
Television violence has a negative effect on society. Violence is everywhere on television. A
question people ask often does violence on television has negative influence on society. Majority of
people believe that violence on television does have negative influences on society. Television
violence has a negative effect on society because it can influence to become violent and take
drugs in the future. Scientist has also tested and proven that television violence has negative
influence on society. Television has many shows with violence with it like Power ranger,
Criminal Mind, and The Walking Dead. In the show The Walking Dead is a show where a group
of people try to survive in a zombie apocalypse and have to use guns to shoot down the zombies.
A child mind is easily molded easily, so when a child sees violence on a television show they can
learn to do violent actions in the future. An example of this is when a child watches a show with
a lot of fighting in it. Shows with a lot of fighting in it are Power rangers and The kids next store.
Most children mimic what happens on television and start learning violent actions. This can lead
to the child to think that violence is tolerable and start to do more violence actions in the future.
Later when they become adult they are more likely to use violence to solve their problems. An
example of this happening is when an adult is teased and start a fight with someone. Not all
shows have violence in them, Dora the explora and Curious George are shows that are
educational. In Dora the explora a girl with her monkey friend go on adventure and have to use
problem solving to get to their destination. Scientists like Leonard Eron have tested that
television does have a negative effect on society. The study of human behavior is Anthropologist
and archeologist. The scientist tested if television had a negative effect on society. They tested
this by having parent volunteer their child to watch several type of shows. The children were
separated into two group, group A and group B. Group A were shown violent shows and group B
was shown educational shows. Eight years after the test children from group A were more likely to

Causes Of Violence In The French Revolution Essay
How much violence is justified to achieve goals of a nation?
Throughout history, brave people have stood up for their country against oppressive regimes. These
revolutions are often unique in not only how they are led, but also the amount of bloodshed and
damage to the country left behind. The French Revolution is often discussed by scholars because it
is not only one of the most important events of modern history, but it is also one of the most
absurd. It is a perfect display of how power can damage the values of individuals, no matter their
intelligence or so called moral superiority . What started as an uprising of the commoners against
the monarchy who had dictated their lives of squalor ended up becoming a tense war. Former allies
were pitted against each other, resulting in over sixteen thousand deaths via guillotine. Even today,
people still debate whether the end result, France gaining universal human rights and other benefits,
justified the violent means. The French Revolution was a result of the system of Estates instated by
the monarchy leaving the common people, or Third Estate, in terrible living conditions. The system
was designed so that aristocrats, the clergy, and the monarch were guaranteed two thirds of all votes
in their favour, meaning that commoners were left without a way to achieve change. The nobility
lived in blissful ignorance, enjoying sumptuous feasts and privileges such as the rights to hunt,
wear swords, and own fiefs. Meanwhile,

Greenhouse Gas Pollution
In the United States, the two largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions are transportation and
electricity. Although limiting the emissions from electricity will be important in the future,
transportation would be much easier to fix now. Greenhouse gases such as methane, carbon
dioxide, water vapor and nitrous oxide not only pollute the air we breathe, but they also store
energy that could be causing climate change. These molecules trap heat from leaving our
atmosphere which is believed to cause the earths increase in heat. Most Americans see climate
change to be an issue that should be acted on, and since greenhouse gases could be causing climate
change the emissions of these gases need to be limited. Recent studies show that transportation
produces nearly 27% of greenhouse gases in the United States(Sources of Greenhouse Gas
Emissions, 2017). In addition, the leading producer within the transportation category is light duty
vehicles. Many people say that airplanes and ships are to blame for the majority of greenhouse gas
production in transportation, but the majority of the pollution actually comes from the cars
Americans drive every day (Fast Facts on Transportation Greenhouse Gas Emissions, 2015). The
United States government needs to take charge and make changes that will help limit the
production of greenhouse gases. To fix these issues, the government could limit the cars that
citizens are allowed to own or change existing tax laws to benefit drivers of fuel

The Greek Storage Jar ( Amphora ) Depicting Man And Boy
The Greek Storage Jar (Amphora) depicting man and boy was created around 550 540 BCE. It
was found in Ancient Greece. The amphora storage jar is made out of terracotta and it is eleven
inches in height. Then it was painted on with black and brown paint. This jars colors are used to
create contrast, the lines are used to unify it, the shapes on the object are the most important part
of the image and patterns are used on the jar to help fill the space on the jar. Therefore colors are
used to create contrast. There are three different colors on the jar: the natural colorof the terracotta,
the brown paintand the black paint. Since terracotta is a neutral color it provides an excellent
background for the painting. Black is a very dark color and it makes the people and the designs
stick out. People use black paint when they want their design to be important. Brown is a neutral
color and it is used to show the not so prominent part of the image. The little bit of brown paint
shows the ground the people are standing on. It also unifies the other places where it appears.
Looking at the top there is a pattern painted with both the black and brown paint to show contrast.
After contrast is seen unity is also seen with lines. Lines are used to unify the artistic image on the
Greek storage jar. The thicker the line the more important it is, the thinner the line the less
important it is. The lines create objects which then create the entire image. Many different patterns

Risk Management Plan For A Company
Risk Management
The process that helps project managers follow when they need to calculate, identify, and
manage risk in a company is defined as Risk Management. When a company faces risk, risk
management would be the ideal solution to use that to solve the known and unknown risks. Risk
management plans should be ready to help reduce and prevent those risks because most risks in a
company are uncertain. When a company is facing risks that are uncertain, these risks come up
very fast and they could be potentially harmful. They should be treated right away. Of course the
work must be performed first as long as they are not of sever threat. Perform the work as planned
keeping in mind those uncertain risks.

This can ensure that employees are focused on their jobs and not getting distracted. Another
prevention method could be moving dangerous equipment s to a different side of the factory
where special safety precautions are implemented. Performing necessary maintenance on factory
equipment can also reduce the likelihood of an accident. (Larcker and Miller, 2014). Having
regular safety meeting with employees can reduce factory accidents. Managers have to be
involved to make sure employees are safe at the workplace. These are some of the precautions we
can take to prevent the likelihood of a risk.
There are prevention methods available for companies to use, these are: risk management
techniques which include risk avoidance, loss control, risk retention, and risk transfer, risk
mitigation plan, risk analysis, mitigation plan implementation, risk assessment table, and risk matrix.
Areas of Risk Management
There are many areas to focus on when it comes to risk management, depending on your company s
infrastructure; risk management is going to be different. The areas of risk management will include
compliance risks, financial risks, operational risks, and strategic risks.
Compliance risks will involve industry standards and regulatory and statuary standards. Financial
risks will include loss of revenues, exchange rate losses, purchasing practices, performance and
schedule, and lawsuits for facility injuries.

Essay On Back To A Cat
Once again. Ordinary, it was. She was way behind schedule today.
I m going to be late anyways. There s only 10 minutes left until my first class. Why don t I just
take a moment to first munch my toast, Katharyn said resignedly. But not too long after, she
remembered that her parents would be very disappointed if they knew she arrived late to school.
With a big sigh, she decided that it was better to just hurriedly get prepared and nibble at her toast
while she goes to school. She dumped all her stationaries in a pencil case, stuffed her notebooks in
her bag, and dashed out of her house. However, after a few steps onto the driveway, she went
whoosh, and fell straight down. Katharyn collapsed to the floor and felt the pain. Groaning ... Show

She only had cuddly, soft paws to lick. This excited her for a while, because she was stressed out
with all the complains their parents and teachers had about her anyways. Is this the end of my
school life? Will I never have to be bothered by my mom nagging me?
After a jiff, she came to a conclusion that it was better to just stray around the streets and stay as a
stray cat roaming around for food all day and all night, instead of somehow managing to peak in
the window of her house and hide there. Until her paws were worn out and showed a dim grey
color, she felt hopeless, afraid of how she will be able to survive those upcoming days.
Katharyn wandered around her apartment compound; starting from her house. Then, sudden
feeling of hunger came across. She walked down to the grocery to pick up any traces of food.
Katharyn eventually managed to find a leftover fish bone that she dug out in the trashcan near the
store. To appease her hungry stomach, she licked it carnivorously, and as she was afraid that
someone else would come and steal it, she chewed it in a rapid speed. Katharyn s stomach was not
even close to being full, but she knew she couldn t do anything about it. She was satisfied by the
fact that she at least stopped herself from growling horrendously.
Katharyn glanced at the sky the moon was way up there, and there were a few stars shimmering. It
was now dim with the shadows of evening. The

prisoner. This occurs when another man, Champmathieu, who is believed to be Jean Valjean, is
about to be sentenced to life imprisonment. Valjean, instead of choosing a life of comfort and
luxury, decides to rescue an innocent man and suffer in his stead.
Valjean suffers and chooses the path of virtue because it is imbibed in his principles and reflects
the beliefs he lives by. Valjean also upholds his pledge to fetch Cosette which was given to Fantine
on her deathbed. Valjean is seen venerating motherhood when he hands Cosette her mother s

Abstract
The current environment, for Riordan s departments, is requiring increased labor in order to
process information. The slow consolidation of the operational processes of two divisions with
different operation software has become a financial threat to Riordan Manufacturing. Each of the
divisions lacks modern technology that is needed to run a highly efficient corporation. Therefore,
there is not enough information being shared between customers, sales, finance, manufacturing, and

This is because of their global manufacturing facilities and the duplicity of the manual data entry
processes. When the raw material is received, at the loading dock, the material is manually
compared to shipping documents that a supervisor has against a schedule of incoming orders. Once
comparisons have been finished, the receiving team will unload the trucks and move the raw
material into the material holding area located on the factory floor. At the end of each day, the
supervisor gives the receiving logs raw materials unloaded and the associated truckers shipping
documents to an inventory clerk. The inventory clerk takes all of the related information from the
raw materials receipts and enters them into the inventory system. The data includes the type of
material received, the vendor the material was purchased from, and the quantity of material. The
raw material located on the factory floor is used during the various manufacturing operations. The
amount of raw material that gets used during the day is manually written on the raw material usage
form given to the inventory clerk. The inventory clerk receives the form and enters the raw material
usage into the inventory system. At the end of the each day, the manufacturing team will submit a
form to the inventory clerk listing the number of sub assembles, and ending products finished for
that day. The sales department finalizes the requested orders. The sales

The Resurrection Of Jesus The Christ
INTRODUCTION The Resurrection of Jesus the Christ validates who Jesus was and is. Jesus has,
or had not been resurrected everything about Him is annulled. Furthermore, it invalidates who we
are as followers of Christ; the passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in John
s writing of his account of the Gospel with the foretold and predictions of the righteous,
unrighteous, and of Jesusown resurrection; John 5:24 29 . If one was to look in the Holman
Christian Apologetic Study Bible (Holman 2003), they may see a note that is in reference and
a prediction (or prophecy) of this passage of scripture that deals with Jesus (a person whom has
already died an earthly death is in reference to Job) own resurrection, in which it is found in Job
(19:23 27); the Scripture says, I wish that my words were written down, that they were recorded
on a scroll or were inscribed in stone forever by an iron stylus and lead! But I know my living
Redeemer, and He will stand on the dust at last. Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I will
see God in my flesh. I will see Him myself; my eyes will look at [Him], and not as a stranger. My
heart longs within me. This critique and analyze the following passage of Scripture that will
outline the One whom is it that John is talking about (in the Gospel of St. John; chapter 5 verses
24 thru 29); who is it that Jesus is talking, who shall be judged (is the righteous or the unrighteous);
who is being addressed, and

The Industrial Revolution In America
Industrial Revolution in America
The industrial revolution in America took place in the nineteenth and twentieth century. During this
period there was mass production, modern technologies were made, people were getting rich and
this made America to be the global superpower in the world. The united states economy grew fast.
America became so rich that mark twain called it the Gilded Age
Although there Britain was the first to have access to the industrial revolution in the 17th and 18th
century, my focus will be on the American industrial revolution. Industrial revolution came into
existence after the end of the civil war. During the revolution transportation, electricity, and
industrial building came into existence and became very popular and made very significant changes
in the nation.
Transportations like the railroad which was linked to different communities and states was built,
steamboats, the Eerie canal, and road were also built. Although railroad was in existence during
the start of the civil war it became more popular after the end of the civil war.
During the 1860s, the Central Pacific Railroad started building rail track from Sacramento,
California. While the Union Pacific started laying tracks from Nebraska. In 1869, this made both
tracks to meet at a place in Utah, this enabled the united states to travel by train from the Atlantic
Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. The development of Railroad continued all through the 1800s with rail
tracks spreading in different

The Military Of The Army Essay
Mission Command Army officer who in charge of leading military missions must bear in mind
that his success or failure is dependent on his commanding style. There are typical ways through
which an officer is more successful than the other is. Just think about why a great Greek s
military leader, Thucydides, failed to save the city of Amphipolis. He was distant from the army
to protect the important military strategic city. Thucydides failure was his absence that made his
army psychologically impotent and the enemy courageous. () Command presence was vital in
classical periods because of the limitation of means of communication. Leaders usually led their
army through direct involvement in detailed tasks. Command presence, more than influencing
the army through close relationship with subordinate, has also a great impact on the enemy
army. As a classical custom required leaders to take part in leading the army, many great leaders
was successful by taking direct command of the army on the front battle. The coalition army in
Napoleonic War purposefully avoid fighting where Napoleon had a direct command on the army.
It is so evident that Napoleon presence had psychological influence on his own army and had
taken as a center of gravity by the coalition army of Europe. Alexander the Great defeat the vast
area of Asia Minor with small number of the army due to Alexander himself directly led the Army.
Since command presence have a remarkable importance of moral and psychological

The Grapes of Wrath
Fear, Hostility, and Exploitation in Chapter 21 of The Grapes of Wrath
Steinbeck s intercalary chapters in The Grapes of Wrath have nothing to do with the Joads or other
characters of the novel, but help describe the story in different terms. They are similar to poems,
offering different viewpoints of the migration, and clarifying parts of the story that the reader might
not understand. An excellent example of this use can be seen in chapter 21, where an examination
of the attitudes of migrant Okies and the residents of California reveals the changing nature of land
ownership among the changing population of California and gives greater meaning to the fierce
hostility that the Joads meet in California.
The first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They suffer the anguish of losing their farms and their homes, of being forced to move endlessly
and painfully in search of work on someone else s land. The anguish caused by sudden change in
land ownership is a major aspect of the novel.
The next section of chapter 21 offers an explanation of the hostility that the migrants meet upon
arrival in California. Steinbeck describes:
Men of property were terrified for their property. Men who had never been hungry saw the eyes of
the hungry. Men who had never wanted anything very much saw the flare of want in the eyes of the
migrants. And the men of the towns and of the soft suburban country gathered to defend
themselves; and they reassured themselves that they were good and the invaders bad, as a man
must do before he fights.
The mild people of California find in the Okies what they have yet to experience fear and
desperation. Sensing the extent to which the migrants are willing to work, the locals begin to fear
for their own jobs, and most importantly, for their own property. In fearful defense, they attack the
Okies as marauders who mean to destroy both populations through their desperation. This fear
transforms into hostility, which reveals itself in the story through the deputies and managers who
abuse and assault the Joads, as well as other migrant families in the workers

What would you do if you were taken by people you did know, and were held captive for ransom for 11 weeks or were sold into the slave trade at the age of 10? These events happened to two people from different countries, and at completely different points in time. Both narratives show journeys of hardship A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson and The Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equianoor Gustavus Vassa, the African . Mary Rowlandson s story is about her journey through an 11 week period in which she was held captive by Native Americans during the King Philip s war, she was taken in exchange for ransom, as they needed money. Rowlandson during the start of her captivity, is shown to be treated horribly. Equiano on the other hand, was treated like an equal at the start of his captivity. The next day I was washed and perfumed, and when mealtime came I was led into the presence of my mistress, and ate and drank before her and her son. This filled me with astonishment; and I could scare help expressing my surprise that the young gentlemen should suffer me, who was bound, to eat with him who was free... (Equiano 60). While staying at the house, Equiano was treated respectfully by his mistress and her family. He ate with them at mealtime, also eating and drinking before the son, because of a custom they believed. • 5. Examples Of Growing Distrust Between People And Government Growing Distrust Between People and Government Politicians throughout history have a deplorable reputation. When people hear the word politician, they think of the words corrupt, dishonest, selfish. These thoughts are only exacerbated by recent political scandals that occurred in modern history. Two examples of these scandals are seen in Ben Paynter s article, Ripple Effect , featured in the June 2016 edition of Wired. In this article, Ben Paynter showed the political failures during the Washington D.C. water crisis and the 2015 Flint Water Crisis, and how they affected the public s opinion on politicians and the government. An example of political incompetence and dishonesty appeared in Flint, Michigan during the early months of 2015. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Edward s contract was not renewed after this complaint. (Paynter 94) Soon after, the Washington Post exposed this cover up to the public. (Paynter 94) As a result of this exposed story, the EPA advised people to flush their water lines. (Paynter 94) However, the EPA s health advice actually increased [lead] exposure (Paynter 94) to the whole water line. Soon after, congressional investigations found that hundreds, maybe thousands, of children had been affected [because] municipal authority in DC had disregarded test results for years (Paynter 94). This catastrophe is almost similar to the situation that occurred in Flint. It was a result of government back tracking and ignoring common warning signs. However, this occurred during 2003, before the massive explosion of mobile devices and the Internet. There was little public response unlike the incident in Flint that occurred a decade later. A result of the DC water crisis and the Flint Water Crisis was a growing distrust between Americans and its own government. As further news came out of Michigan about the government s response, this disconnect between the people and its government intensified. For example, as Ben Paynter interviewed native Flint residents, he found there to be distrust people from any level of government (92). I think my athletic trainer is credible. He is good at what he does and always knows how to help anyone who is injured so I trust he knows what he is doing. If he never knew what to do and could not help you he would not be a very credible athletic trainer. This shows that your actions can affect your credibility. I think Michael Phelpsis a credible person when it comes to swimming. He was very successful though his credibility took a hit when he was pictured holding a marijuana pipe (Crouse). The strategy used by Mattel in the toy recall was focused on passing the blame to China s work practices and materials used. Mattel prematurely placed disproportionate blame on Chinese manufacturers and appeared defensive and somewhat fearful. In addition, the toy manufacture delayed reporting to the CPSC by a month and a half after they found out that the toys contained lead paint, even though the CPSC guidelines state that a re call should be issued in 24 hours. 2.Who are Mattel s stakeholders, who did Mattel cater to in the ... First and foremost Mattel should improve two way, interpersonal communication with two key customers: parents and the retailers. Corporate communication campaigns should increase interaction with consumers online via message boards and social media. Retailers have the most face to face contact with consumers. Mattel should equip them to answer consumer questions comprehensively and accurately. • 20. Considerations of Food Safety Food safety is one of the primary concerns in our industry, especially to those who process food in large amounts. Therefore, proper sanitation must be provided in order to destroy microorganisms that could possibly spoil and contaminate food products. Sanitizers are substances used to reduce and inhibit most microorganisms present in surfaces of equipment and utensils. They are usually in the form of liquid mixture applied directly on the surface of equipment or any material that may come in contact with the food (Parker, 2007). In 2007, Harrison and Davidson revealed that the most common sanitizers used in foods are hypochlorites, chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics. However, in 2009, Schmidt discovered that use of these chemicals could cause corrosion, discoloration of products, and distortion of flavor and odor (see Appendix). Also, carelessly handling of these chemicals could also risk the personnel performing sanitation. Because of the hazardous effects of these chemicals (hypochlorites, chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics) in food industry, there is a necessity to find alternative methods to further reduce microorganisms. At the same time, it should also have less effect to the quality of the food being tested. Bacteriocin, a substance produced by microorganisms, plays a defensive role in prohibiting invasion of strains or species. Thus, it could serve the purpose of a being a sanitizer since it has high anti microbial activity. This substance, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To many scholars, memory in this context is not simply information that is recalled and retold (qtd. in Till 11). Instead, it is the act of continuously finding and contextualizing history by means of physical space. Preservation of historical architecture is therefore unique, as it juxtaposes this history and memory with the surrounding modern world. This highlights the importance of preserving history through architecture, rather than museums, textbooks, and archives alone. By preserving the physical remnants of a city s dark history, residents and passersby are forced to confront this history nondeliberately. Moreover, according to Rudy J. Koshar, a preserved site must maintain some present value or purpose. This is particularly relevant when considering the preservation of buildings or sites which represent a history that is controversial or shameful, as it is important to balance the shame evoked by this space with the benefits of its preservation. The task of historic preservation is especially challenging in nations such as Germany which have pasts that many are reluctant to remember. If they falter, they are seen as strange and sometimes called names; this is especially true for women. According to society, man is womans better half, and many philosophers have shown interest in this correlation. Before you can describe what the difference between men and women is, you must first understand what it means to be a woman. • 27. Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs Throughout human history people have sought to better themselves and ascend to higher levels beyond what others thought possible. As many might say, life is more than just surviving, it is about doing the things one dreams of, learning new things, mastering new skills, and being with the people that one enjoys being with. On the contrary, not all people get to do any of those things. It seems that the ultimate goal is self actualization and life fulfillment, yet why do people never seem to reach that point? Humanistic psychology is a value orientation that holds a hopeful, constructive view of human beings and of their substantial capacity to be self determining (AHP). It focuses on the self, experiences, and motivation systems unrelated to rewards or unconscious desires (McLeod, Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs). Abraham Maslow, one of the leading psychologists in humanistic psychology, conceived the idea of the hierarchy of needs that revealed what motivates people to do the things that they do. Similarly, Carl Rodgers later added that for a person to grow , they need an environment that provides them with genuineness, acceptance, and empathy (McLeod, Carl Rogers). In Maslow s hierarchy of needs one cannot get to the top without first starting from the bottom and working upwards through each level. As can be seen in the diagram on page 2, from the bottom up Maslow states that physiological needs must be met, then safety, love, esteem, and self actualization. The key is ... Essay on Analysis of Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith Analysis of Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. Adam Smith The reasons for writing a book such as Adam Smith s The Wealth of Nations are many, and Smith seems to have had several in mind. His study traces the stages in the development of the modern economic system in an attempt to explain it, maps out the origins of money, and finally tackles the issues facing the mercantile system which controlled the society he lived in. In the process, he provides an exposition for his vision of a laissez faire economy, that is, capitalism as we now know it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at his own society s economic system, Smith explores the division of labour, the role it has to play in industrialization, and its general impact upon the wealth of the state. Smith regards the division of labour and the resultant specialization as the key to increasing the productivity of labour, rather than the increase in mechanization since the Industrial Revolution began, as many would argue. Naturally, a highly specialized economic unit would be dependent upon interaction with other, similarly specialized units, and Smith illustrates that a system of fair and accessible trade is necessary for an efficient use of labour. The much quoted example of the pin maker is used to demonstrate Smith s point about the division of labour. Despite its questionable accuracy, this example does much to illustrate the plight of labour under a system of increasing specialization. That is to say, it shows the boredom and melancholia which can be associated with repetitious and laborious work. For Smith, however, any such problem is amply compensated for by the relative prosperity of a society based upon specialized markets and trades. For instance, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This would allow schools to implement curriculums that teach computer programming and other programs (like Microsoft Office, etc.) in parallel as students get into higher grades. A counter argument to this would be that computers and computer programming is too complicated for students of such a young age to learn. While it is true that programming in a professional setting involves learning complicated programming languages and syntax, this doesn t mean it s not possible for students in grades as early as kindergarten to learn basic programming skills. For example, various Educational programming languages (EPLs), such as Scratch and E toys, have been developed for K 12 students . . . These EPLs use a tile scripting based on a graphic user interface as a coding method, instead of typing text commands. This makes the instructions easy to learn and helps students reduce syntax errors (Shim 1). Therefore, integrating computer programming into even the earliest grades in school would be possible. Another counter argument to integrating computer programming in school is that kids, especially young ones, tend to spend too much time on computers and other electronic devices, and frequently spending time on computers to learn computer programming will only encourage this. • 39. Causes Of Violence In The French Revolution Essay How much violence is justified to achieve goals of a nation? Throughout history, brave people have stood up for their country against oppressive regimes. These revolutions are often unique in not only how they are led, but also the amount of bloodshed and damage to the country left behind. The French Revolution is often discussed by scholars because it is not only one of the most important events of modern history, but it is also one of the most absurd. It is a perfect display of how power can damage the values of individuals, no matter their intelligence or so called moral superiority . What started as an uprising of the commoners against the monarchy who had dictated their lives of squalor ended up becoming a tense war. Former allies were pitted against each other, resulting in over sixteen thousand deaths via guillotine. Even today, people still debate whether the end result, France gaining universal human rights and other benefits, justified the violent means. The French Revolution was a result of the system of Estates instated by the monarchy leaving the common people, or Third Estate, in terrible living conditions. The system was designed so that aristocrats, the clergy, and the monarch were guaranteed two thirds of all votes in their favour, meaning that commoners were left without a way to achieve change. The nobility lived in blissful ignorance, enjoying sumptuous feasts and privileges such as the rights to hunt, wear swords, and own fiefs. Meanwhile, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although limiting the emissions from electricity will be important in the future, transportation would be much easier to fix now. Greenhouse gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, water vapor and nitrous oxide not only pollute the air we breathe, but they also store energy that could be causing climate change. These molecules trap heat from leaving our atmosphere which is believed to cause the earths increase in heat. Most Americans see climate change to be an issue that should be acted on, and since greenhouse gases could be causing climate change the emissions of these gases need to be limited. Recent studies show that transportation produces nearly 27% of greenhouse gases in the United States(Sources of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, 2017). In addition, the leading producer within the transportation category is light duty vehicles. Many people say that airplanes and ships are to blame for the majority of greenhouse gas production in transportation, but the majority of the pollution actually comes from the cars Americans drive every day (Fast Facts on Transportation Greenhouse Gas Emissions, 2015). • 52. The Resurrection Of Jesus The Christ INTRODUCTION The Resurrection of Jesus the Christ validates who Jesus was and is. Jesus has, or had not been resurrected everything about Him is annulled. Furthermore, it invalidates who we are as followers of Christ; the passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in John s writing of his account of the Gospel with the foretold and predictions of the righteous, unrighteous, and of Jesusown resurrection; John 5:24 29 . If one was to look in the Holman Christian Apologetic Study Bible (Holman 2003), they may see a note that is in reference and a prediction (or prophecy) of this passage of scripture that deals with Jesus (a person whom has already died an earthly death is in reference to Job) own resurrection, in which it is found in Job (19:23 27); the Scripture says, I wish that my words were written down, that they were recorded on a scroll or were inscribed in stone forever by an iron stylus and lead! But I know my living Redeemer, and He will stand on the dust at last. Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh. I will see Him myself; my eyes will look at [Him], and not as a stranger. My heart longs within me. This critique and analyze the following passage of Scripture that will outline the One whom is it that John is talking about (in the Gospel of St. John; chapter 5 verses 24 thru 29); who is it that Jesus is talking, who shall be judged (is the righteous or the unrighteous); who is being addressed, and ... During this period there was mass production, modern technologies were made, people were getting rich and this made America to be the global superpower in the world. The united states economy grew fast. America became so rich that mark twain called it the Gilded Age Although there Britain was the first to have access to the industrial revolution in the 17th and 18th century, my focus will be on the American industrial revolution. Industrial revolution came into existence after the end of the civil war. During the revolution transportation, electricity, and industrial building came into existence and became very popular and made very significant changes in the nation. Transportations like the railroad which was linked to different communities and states was built, steamboats, the Eerie canal, and road were also built. Although railroad was in existence during the start of the civil war it became more popular after the end of the civil war. • 54. The Military Of The Army Essay Mission Command Army officer who in charge of leading military missions must bear in mind that his success or failure is dependent on his commanding style. There are typical ways through which an officer is more successful than the other is. Just think about why a great Greek s military leader, Thucydides, failed to save the city of Amphipolis. He was distant from the army to protect the important military strategic city. Thucydides failure was his absence that made his army psychologically impotent and the enemy courageous. () Command presence was vital in classical periods because of the limitation of means of communication. Leaders usually led their army through direct involvement in detailed tasks. Command presence, more than influencing the army through close relationship with subordinate, has also a great impact on the enemy army. As a classical custom required leaders to take part in leading the army, many great leaders was successful by taking direct command of the army on the front battle. The coalition army in Napoleonic War purposefully avoid fighting where Napoleon had a direct command on the army. It is so evident that Napoleon presence had psychological influence on his own army and had taken as a center of gravity by the coalition army of Europe. Alexander the Great defeat the vast area of Asia Minor with small number of the army due to Alexander himself directly led the Army. Since command presence have a remarkable importance of moral and psychological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. The Grapes of Wrath Fear, Hostility, and Exploitation in Chapter 21 of The Grapes of Wrath Steinbeck s intercalary chapters in The Grapes of Wrath have nothing to do with the Joads or other characters of the novel, but help describe the story in different terms. They are similar to poems, offering different viewpoints of the migration, and clarifying parts of the story that the reader might not understand. An excellent example of this use can be seen in chapter 21, where an examination of the attitudes of migrant Okies and the residents of California reveals the changing nature of land ownership among the changing population of California and gives greater meaning to the fierce hostility that the Joads meet in California. The first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They suffer the anguish of losing their farms and their homes, of being forced to move endlessly and painfully in search of work on someone else s land. The anguish caused by sudden change in land ownership is a major aspect of the novel. The next section of chapter 21 offers an explanation of the hostility that the migrants meet upon arrival in California. Steinbeck describes: Men of property were terrified for their property. Men who had never been hungry saw the eyes of the hungry. Men who had never wanted anything very much saw the flare of want in the eyes of the migrants. And the men of the towns and of the soft suburban country gathered to defend themselves; and they reassured themselves that they were good and the invaders bad, as a man must do before he fights. The mild people of California find in the Okies what they have yet to experience fear and desperation. Sensing the extent to which the migrants are willing to work, the locals begin to fear for their own jobs, and most importantly, for their own property. In fearful defense, they attack the Okies as marauders who mean to destroy both populations through their desperation. This fear transforms into hostility, which reveals itself in the story through the deputies and managers who abuse and assault the Joads, as well as other migrant families in the workers
