Chemical and Biological Uses of Weapons of Mass Destruction
Chemical and Biological Uses of WMD
The threat by terrorist groups in using Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) has increased
significantly in the recent years. Preventing the creation and the utilization of these deadly weapons as
well as their delivery systems and reducing those already in existence, has become of extreme
importance to the government. Certain weapons of mass destruction, such as chemical and biological,
are easier to acquire but much harder to detect. For that reason, they should be the highest priority.
Predicting when and how an attack will occur, involving chemical or biological weapons, is not 100
percent possible; however, individuals should not ignore the possibility of such an attack happening
here on American soil. In the past, there have been attacks involving Sarin gas, such as the Tokyo
Subway attack, and just recently, the Sarin nerve agent use in Syria. Terrorist have the capability to
use chemical WMD and have shown that they are willing to use this method in warfare. In addition,
military biological WMD programs discovered in Iraq and Russia show that there is a definite
biological threat as well. Preparing America to face this threat head on is a daunting task, but lacking
preparedness could have devastating consequences beyond comprehension. Agencies, such as public
health organizations, must be prepared to prevent illness and injuries resulting from biological and
chemical terrorism, especially with a concealed attack by a terrorist.

Unit 1
Promote Positive Behaviour
1.1 Legislation is a set of laws that have been created by the government to make sure all childcare
settings are run correctly. To promote positive behaviour, legislation s such as the Children Act 1989,
Human Rights Act 1998, Every Child Matters 2004, Equality Act 2010 and the Health and Safety at
Work Act 1974 are followed by the setting. These Act s include rules and regulations that a setting is
required to follow in order to promote positive behaviour.
All settings also follow Frameworks that are set by different companies that work with childcare
settings. For example, the EYFS have a framework that requires any setting that works with children
between 0 5 years, to follow so that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other people that should be informed are people such as social services if the child is in care or there
is previous history with social services. Other professionals the child may be involved with such as
behavioural managers and physiotherapist should be told and information should also be shared with
school governors so that policies can be reviewed and see if things can be changed to prevent the
accident happening again.
1.5 It is important when dealing with challenging behaviour whilst still trying to promote positive
behaviour that an incidents are dealt with accordingly and appropriately. When a challenging situation
requires you to use a restrictive intervention then the least restrictive option should be used. This is
because be using excessive force or reacting over the top could cause a the situation to get worse, for
example if a child is causing disruptions and you don t use the least restrictive intervention it could
cause the child s attitude to get worse and cause more disruptions.
1.6 All settings should have policies and procedures in place so people no how to deal with restrictive
interventions. These should included a risk assessment of the setting and how risk can be reduced and
avoided. The names of people who it may be likely that a restrictive physical intervention could be
needed for should be available, any notes that relate to the children involved and how certain children
should be handled

Essay on Reflections on The Tao Te Ching
Reflections on The Tao Te Ching When the early Christians had to keep their faith against the
persecutions of the Roman Empire, they had obviously a visible enemy. Once their religion was
legalized and established, however, they had new questions to ask concerning who they were, what
could hurt their souls and their way of life. Some of them, at least, concluded that the materialism of
the dominant Roman way of life was a non agressive, but equally corrosive force that would destroy
them not physically, but spiritually. These Fourth Century Christians, men and women, then left their
societies and withdrew into the desert to be able to find true paradise, not in a safe, secure niche in
society, but in their relationship with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This assertion has always involved universally several profoundly felt assumptions. 1. That humans,
unlike all other creatures, are called upon to develop, to become better than they are. 2. That to be
most fully human requires individual choice and development by cooperative action with identifiable
but demanding conditions. 3. That these conditions are truly universal, applicable and available to all
people and in that sense absolute both in practice and in idea. In The Bhagavad Gita, for example, the
poet says that whenever he reads the words of Krishna to Arjuna he enters into the Gita s predicament
and experiences a change of soul. Similarly the Christian Gospels invite the hearers of the Word to
participate in a divine life. 4. That there is something or some others or some One who is outside and
beyond us and divinely interested in us as we succeed or fail at living up to our expectations. 5. That
in stories, poems, myths, or codes, the elements of what it means to be human, as well as the passages
from one level of awareness and life to another higher level, can be captured and shared, thus giving
access to the wisdom of the culture. This wisdom may take two forms collections of specific rules
and/or stories and poems that present the possibility of

Rapid Decline Of Crime In The 1990s
Components of the Rapid Decline in Crime of the 1990s The 1960s were more than just Civil Rights
and Woodstock. Contrary to what the people believed, the 1960s was an important decade in regards
to ending the peaceful period of crime decline that the United States had been enjoying since 1930
(Levitt, Dubner 115 146). The United States was about to see the highest crime rates in its history by
the end of the 1980s, heading for the 1990s. Upon entering the 1990s though, what was being
recorded were record levels of crime, but in the opposite direction as predicted (Levitt, Dubner 115
146). Instead of the highest crime rates, the United States actually observed rates similar to that of the
1960s. Although the 1960s were when crime began to steadily ... Show more content on

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) realized that these numbers are substantial, and that this
was not the only sector of crime falling. Robbery fell 40%, burglary fell 33%, and rape and assault

history, and as a result, many different strategies were being implemented in order to control the
expected increase in the 1990s. In effect, the 1990s saw the largest decrease in crime in US history,
and had the lowest crime levels since 1960

Problems Regarding the Toronto Blessing
Problems Regarding the Toronto Blessing In 1994, a small church was started near the Pearson
International Airport in
Toronto, Canada. This small church would spark a revolution attracting over 300,000 people making a
pilgrimage to visit the church every year. The revolution began on January 20, 1994, when the
congregation became overcome by spiritual laughter . This practice and others such as speaking in
tongues, sounding like animals, shaking uncontrollably, and swooning occur regularly at the Toronto
Vineyard Church. This phenomenon was called, the Toronto blessing (Gilley, 2000). However, the
actions and philosophies associated with the Toronto blessing do not follow the teachings of Jesus and
or the Bible, the fundamentals of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disciples were not found in the Bible doing any of these from the power of the Holy Spirit they
had received after Pentecost (Gilley, 2000). The Toronto believed they have specifically been blessed
with these manifestations. However, they do not exclude other churches from the phenomenon; one
can visit the Toronto Church and take the blessing back to their home church. The founder of the
Vineyard Churches John Wimber has reservations about spiritual laughter and no Biblical evidence for
manifestations. While he admits to this he does not advocating testing the phenomenon with scripture
(Smith, 2006). Wimber wants the people to listen to him as the ultimate authority. However, Christians
should follow what God has specifically given to his children as approvable for reproof, for doctrine,
and for correction (The Holy Bible, 1989). John Arnott, the pastor of the Airport Vineyard Fellowship,
tells his followers that they are not to even entertain the thought that they might become involved in
any kind of counterfeit revival. Yet, the apostle John warned us to Test the spirits to see whether they
are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (Gilley, 2000). Many of the
pastors at such churches as the Vineyard churches have seen small congregations of unenthused
worshipers. The experience of the phenomenon of manifestations is attractive to worshipers (Smith,
2006). A quote from South African charismatic

Labeling Deviant Behavior Essay
Introduction: Have you ever experienced a time when your parents called you a genius and you truly
felt like one? How about when a professor pointed fingers at you because he thought you were
cheating on a test? Most certainly you felt some type of shame or guilt; or probably got so tired of
your colleagues negative thoughts that you decided to embrace it and just go along with it. These are
just a few examples of the impact that people s opinions or thoughts can have on your reputation.
Think for a second about the Stanford Prison Experiment, which demonstrates the influential role that
a situation can play in human behavior. The individuals chosen to perform as guards were placed in a
position of power and thus they began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labeling theorists suggest that labeling individuals as deviant has the potential of becoming a self
fulfilling prophecy (Globokar, 2008). Howard Becker has described deviance as a consequence of the
application by others of rules and sanctions to an offender ; the deviant is one to whom the label has
successfully been applied; deviant behavior is behavior people so label (Clinard Meier, 2011:89).
Culture, sex, age and other elements of identity all shape self conception, but the meanings that an
individual places on various circumstances and interactions certainly play a very important role as
well. It becomes difficult to normally interact with others once there is a negative impact of an
individual s reputation and the conception and expectations of others reinforces that reputation. I am
very familiar with the effect that labeling can have on a person. My uncle in Cuba is a great example
of what labeling can do to your persona. I grew up very close to him and remember always going on
trips and he would play around with all the time; to me he was the greatest uncle in the world. One
day I heard a comment that slipped out of the mouth of some friends and they referred to my uncle as
a thief or ratero . It appeared that my uncle due to the need of food decided to borrow a chicken from a
neighbor s backyard; got caught and from there he obtained a new reputation. I

A Brief Note On The World Of A Mnc
Most MNCs in the world want to move to the developing world because of their cost/benefit analysis
and because they tend to be more powerful than many of the national governments of the countries
they wish to enter. As a representative of a MNC, you are met with fierce resistance from human
rights groups, national and international, and women s groups who argue that your company will lead
to the displacement of thousands, disrupt the local economy and encourage labor rights abuses based
on your record of dealing with other countries in the developing world. How would you respond and
how would you negotiate?
If I was representing the MNC, I would stress the potential long term benefits. First, the government
would be able to tax my MNC and generate tax revenue. Additionally, the MNC will help that nation
state s economy grow which would help the nation state gain more power in the international
monetary system. Lastly, I would stress that my MNC would create new jobs and help create
infrastructure in the nation state. In regards to human rights groups, I would promises to adhere to the
labor laws of the nation state. We would create safe business environments in order to attract the best
workers. Furthermore, the local economy will grow too, because the MNC would establish
infrastructure that would help aid commerce. Additionally, by creating more jobs, incomes will
increase, allowing for more consumption of local goods and services. Moreover, I would argue that by

Amritsar Massacre Research Paper
The sound of artillery filled the air, drowning the cries of the innocent people. I struggled to watch as
hundreds of unknown men, women, and children died in this tragic event, known as the Amritsar
Massacre. In Amritsar, India s holy city of the Sikh religion, British and Gurkha troops massacre at
least 379 unarmed demonstrators meeting at the Jallianwala Bagh, a city park (History.com). The man
responsible for this monstrous event is Reginald Dyer, a British general. The actions of General Dyer
were unjust because the crowd he shot upon was nothing more than peaceful, he gave us no warning
to disperse; and after the incident, Dyer gave no medical attention or help to the wounded. In the end,

I was lying on the ground relaxing with half an ear to what the protestors were saying when General
Dyer approached the entrance of the garden. He was followed by what was said to be 50 armed British
soldiers all holding rifles tightly in their hands. The commotion of the crowd slowly vanished as
everyone stood up in surprise and peered at the soldiers. Without warning, Dyer ordered his troops to
block the garden s only exit and fired into the defenseless crowd, which included many women and
children (Grolier Online). I scrambled throughout the screaming crowd, desperately trying to find
safety. People hid behind bodies on the ground, some jumped to their death down a well in the middle
of the garden, and others were killed in the circling stampede. The soldiers fired for 10 to 15 minutes
till their ammunition was exhausted. As the terrified crowd tried to escape, they fell to the 1,650
bullets that were fired (Saha). I rushed to find safety behind a tree where I stayed, waiting and praying
that the firing would cease. My ears ached at the screams and cries and my eyes cringed at the
gruesome sights. Yet Dyer was interested more in the technique of his soldiers than in the human
tragedy unfolding less than 50 ft. in front of him (Source 5). Ultimately, his decision to shoot was
unjust because the crowd was peaceful and he gave no warning for the crowd to

Edgar Allan Poe s Use of Descriptive Language in The Pit...
Edgar Allan Poe s Use of Descriptive Language in The Pit and the Pendulum
Edgar Allan Poe has been known for writing stories of mystery and horror. He has composed poems
dealing with the occult. He favors those themes and ideas that people shy away from, death, pain,
suffering, torture, terror, and fear. His gothic stories burn fright into the hearts of the reader or leave
them with a sense of remorse for Poe s poor and unfortunate characters. Not many people have ever
thought about how Poe goes about conveying these feelings to his readers and why it is so effective.
Poe uses an abundance of descriptive language in order to convey the feelings of his choice onto his
reader. This can be seen quite blatantly in The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wall of the dungeon then become red hot and begin to flatten in order to drive the narrator into the
pit. Just as the walls were about to push him into the pit, he is rescued by the French General LaSalle.
Throughout the story, Poe creates feelings of confusion, fear, terror, and suspense through his use of
descriptive language. Author Paul Patterson says, Descending into the story of The Pit and the
Pendulum , we are faced with emotions of claustrophobia, victimization, restriction, paranoia, and a
overall sense of hopelessness ending in surprising liberation.
(http://www.watershed.winnipeg.mb.ca/popitnpendulum.html, 1 2) All of these things occur
throughout the story but can seen at the end of the story as the walls of the prison are closing in on the
narrator.
Death, I said, any death but that of the pit! ...At length for my seared and writhing body there was no
longer an inch of foothold on the firm floor of the prison. I struggled no more, but the agony of my
soul found vent in one loud, long, and final scream of despair. I felt that I tottered upon the brink I
averted my eyes ...An outstretched arm caught my own as I fell, fainting, into the abyss. (Great Tales
and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe, 312)
As you can see, Poe has the narrator terrified of death in the pit. At the same time he has made the
reader assure himself that this man will be cast into the pit. The narrator s rescue at the end comes as

Analysis Of I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
Analysis of; I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud by William Wordsworth
The poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud was written by William Wordsworth. It has a strong rhyming
scheme and rhymes with every second line (1 and 3, 2 and 4) apart from the last two lines of each
stanza, which rhyme together. The poem appears to be about a man who had found himself in a bad
mood. The man uses old, happy memories to cheer him up whilst he is in these moods.
The first stanza starts off with a lonely man, wandering around without much direction or emotion,
quite quickly this progresses to hope and fondness, almost like a memory has been replayed in the
mind of the man, lifting his spirits. This gives a potential background story to the man without directly
mentioning anything, therefore adding meaning. The line that seems to capture this sudden change of
heart are, when all at once I saw a crowd . Throughout this first stanza the writer simultaneously uses
both imagery and personification. The effect that this has on the reader is that they can visualise easier
when they are able to compare inanimate objects to emotions and actions they have done themselves.
This creates a connection with the reader to the poem.
The second stanza moves straight into the next topic, which is the stars and the sky that holds them.
However the transition is not awkward thanks to the use of the word continuous which implies that he
is only adding to the picture and not making anew. The words chosen express

Sonnet 130 Figurative Language
Inner beauty is a concept that is thought to have been identified in modern times because of
racial, ethnic, and religious segregation in the past centuries. However, very few in the undeveloped
world came to realization that inner beauty is just as valuable as external attraction/beauty. In sonnet
130, William Shakespeare displays the true meaning of attraction for ones lover through imagery and
figurative language. Shakespeare begins the sonnet with a simile My mistress eyes are nothing like the
sun; (130.1). However he seems to insinuate a harsh way of comparing his lovers eyes to the Sun.
Shakespeare implies that there is no blazing fire in his mistress and how they are rather dull. One can
interpret this as a comparison between an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can infer that the preferable color in a woman s cheeks are red and white. This is because of the
use of the word Dmask d (130.5) Shakespeare s use of dmask d means a pattern of red and white on a
rose meaning an exemplary flower for him. Also, it represents a beautiful color of cheeks. But no such
roses see I in her cheeks; (130.6) is a metaphorical statement because roses in cheeks is physically
impossible but very effortless to visualize because it means the color of one s cheeks(Metaphorically).
Subsequent to this, Shakespeare seems to impose self conflict in himself which is exhibited by I love
to hear her speak, yet well I know, That music hath a far more pleasing sound; (130.9 10) He
expresses his attraction for the first time in the sonnet by saying that he loves to hear her speak.
Admittedly, he is talking about his mistress. However, another side of him (The Conflict) implies That
music hath a far more pleasing sound; This completely contradicts the statement of him loving his
mistress s voice. He fails to include an Onomatopoeia in his sonnet because of the formal tone of

Critical Analysis Of Hester Prynne
In the critical essay On The Scarlet Letter by D.H. Lawrence, Lawrence criticizes the portrayal of
Hester Prynne in the novel, The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Lawrence displays his views
of the novel by using juvenalian satire to express his thoughts in a humorous, insightful way. He
narrows down on his scrutiny of the novel s main character, Hester Prynne. In his analysis, he focuses
on Hester Prynne s devilish acts in seducing Dimmesdale which is a hidden sin. D.H. Lawrence
effectively utilizes a mocking tone, a staccato like syntax, and a biblical allusion. Lawrence uses a
mocking tone to convey his thoughts about how Hester Prynne is the devil. One example of how
Lawrence demonstrates a mocking tone is when he states, Oh, Hester, you are a demon. A man must
be pure, just that you can seduce him to a fall (Lawrence 1). Lawrence criticizes Hester by saying that
she has the capability to destroy someone who is perfectly pure. Even the best person in the world
would instantly fail just because of Hester according to Lawrence. He also states that The greatest
triumph a woman can have, especially an American woman. Is the triumph of seducing a man:
especially is he is pure. (Lawrence 1). Lawrence especially berates Hester for committing adultery, as
he believes that adultery is one of the biggest sins that one can commit. His mocking tone in this
remark, conveys how he thinks that Hester is the worst character in the novel due to all of her actions.
Lawrence s mocking tone shows how he thinks that Hawthorne accepts adultery too easily. In order to
express Lawrence s dismay for Hester Prynne, he uses a staccato like syntax. He uses short sentences
to express the importance of what he is saying. For example, he states Flop. , Flop goes spiritual love.
in two different lines (Lawrence 1). By stating these quotes, it also represents how Hester would never
find true love because of how much of an awful person she is He states his thoughts in two short
sentences to express his ideas quickly and effectively. This is because he thinks Hawthorne is too
accepting about the idea and act of adultery. His use of these short phrases allows Lawrence to express
his thought efficiently and effectively.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise

The use of computers in the classroom has been a major component in the development training for
students to get ready for a more technologically advanced workplace. Sheldon defines the problem of
untrained administrators, teachers, and other public school officials that did not know how to use the
computers provided for educating the students. IN one example at the Rancho Bizarro school, Sheldon
defines the inability of educators to be trained in computer technology: Teachers endured countless
mind numbing sermons on the power of technology, but failed to develop the necessary computer
skills (Rossett 210). In this manner, the problem of performance analysis for public school officials
was a major barrier to properly educating the students. Turtle Middle School is another example of a

aspect of Sheldon s evaluation of a public school system that did not have a performance analysis

Rules In Ayn Rand s Anthem
Rules have been around since the beginning of time for the purpose of safety and control in a
population. But, what happens when there are more rules in place for the sake of control as opposed to
safety? The novel Anthem shows that when there are more rules for control of individuals minds, they
will be broken because the individuals realize there is more to be discovered than what they are being
told. This can be seen through the plot and climax, as well as in the characterization of the protagonist
and antagonist, and through Equality 7 2521 s first person point of view.
Throughout the plot of the story, we see Equality 7 2521 slowly begin to break small rules, then move
on to break bigger ones because of the discoveries he has made from ... Show more content on

This is important because as a reader I was able to see that when he broke rules he didn t guilty about
it.( Rand 20) When Equality 7 2521 was alone in the tunnel he began to like the feeling of solidarity
despite being told he would become evil if he was alone. ( Rand 65)By knowing what he is thinking I
was able to see how he felt about his relationship with others, such as how he sees International 4
8818 as his friend (Rand 13) and how he ends up falling in love with Liberty 5 3000 despite it being
forbidden to favor others. (Rand 77) It s especially important that the story was told in first person
because we can see Equality 7 2521 s reaction to what he reads in the library at the house he and
Liberty 5 3000 find after fleeing town. ( Rand 73) Equality 7 2521 beings to refer to himself as I

1 a. According to ASC 605 25 25 5 , a delivered item in an arrangement with multiple deliverables

* The delivered item or items have value to the customer on a standalone basis, which is satisfied in
this case. * When vendor specific objective evidence or third party evidence of selling price for
deliverables is absent, the vendor is allowed to give an objective estimation of the price of deliverable

Planning And Implementing Curriculum Accommodation
Planning and implementing curriculum accommodation in content areas Many students with LD
experience trouble with reading abilities that are significantly below grade level. Consequently, the
high school text book in history and other social studies classes will represent a problem. If students
have problems with interpreting what is seen, they may have difficulties with timelines, graphs, maps,
charts and other visual display that frequently used to explain information in social studies. Steele
(2007) demonstrated that modification can be implemented to help students with learning difficulties
succeed in social studies. Textbooks are usually hard for students with learning difficulties, it is better
to utilize supplementary reading material, for example, historical fiction, easier textbook and resources
from the internet. For instance, websites that have many timelines and clear description of historical
events, newspapers can contain information that related to social studies topics to students lives and
communities, establish reading abilities, boost critical thinking skills and integrate concepts across
social studies topics.
These resources might explain topics, themes, and abstract ideas that are too hard to understand in the
textbooks (Steele, 2007). To make students with learning problems more successful, the teacher can
provide lesson about a particular book, discuss part of the textbook like glossary sections, appendixes,
chapters heading, maps questions,

Application Of Magnetic Polymer Nanocomposites
Abstract Magnetic polymer nanocomposites have attracted broad interest for hyperthermic cancer
treatment because they are non toxic, biocompatible, and can be remotely heated by alternating
magnetic fields. The magnetic induction heating behavior provides a great benefit in biomedical
applications, such as targeted drug delivery, and magnetic separation. In situ formation of an organic
or polymer layer on their surface is one of the efficient methods for decreasing the aggregation
between the nanoparticles, as well as providing functionality on the surface and allowing further
functionalization with drugs and therapeutic agents. The most challenging task in hyperthermia is to
maximize the specific absorption rate (SAR) with a lower ferrofluids dose. Magnetic nanoparticles
coated with polymer layer combine the unique magnetic properties of multi functional nanoparticles
with self heating property. In addition, it is easier in preparation by a one pot process. The formation
of the nanoparticles with a higher SAR makes it a promising in hyperthermia cancer treatment. 1.
Introduction The outstanding potential of magnetic polymer nanocomposites stems from the ability to
obtain structures with the combinations of properties that neither individual material possesses. It is
possible to synthesize these nanocomposites in desired shape and size with controlled properties of
stability, surface area, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties. The easy separation and controlled

Example Of Courage In To Kill A Mockingbird
You were walking through the supermarket when you over hear two women talking about a story, that
was all over the news. It was about a man that shot another man because his wife was cheating on
him. The two women were saying that the man s actions were courageous, but you believe otherwise.
You feel that courage is not a man with a gun in his hand, but a man that seeks a resolution. Courage
can be defined in many ways. Or people can express their courageous actions differently than others.
One of the best literary examples of courage is the novel To Kill A Mockingbird , written by Harper
Lee. The book itself conveys many forms of courage that jump out at you. There are many debates
stating who the most courageous character is, or what Harper Lee is trying to state by expressing the
courage into her characters. Those topics will be spoke about today. Courage has a lot of definitions
that everyone can follow. Most people consider courage being whenever someone faces their fears
head on, or standing up for what you believe in. In To Kill A Mockingbird courage is expressed in
many ways including standing up for your beliefs. Atticus Finch, an honorable lawyer states, It s when
you know you re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter
what. You rarely win, but sometimes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each of those characters show courage in their own way. They do not allow anyone in the town
influence their actions nor views. They each follow up with their actions over top of the dilemmas that
are encountered. Boo Radley saves Jem and Scout from almost getting killed from Bob Ewell. Maudie
and Link express their opinions no matter the circumstance on debatable topics in town. Maudie
speaks up about the racism happened in the town, and Link saves Helen from Bob after Helen is not
allowed to take the road in front of Bobs house. Those were the most courageous characters from the

Many tourists prefer to eat in the buffet restaurant. There is a huge selection of different dishes: first,

people find solutions to achieve what they want while others feels hopeless and give up. In volcano by
Nancy Lord, the atmosphere of the story changes from doubtful to disillusioned as Julia loses hope.

fear of uncertainty surges in her, she starts to doubt her ability as she thinks that [she] can t do
anything about a volcano (12). This pessimistic thought surfaces because of the years of exhaustion

Architecture In Roman Architecture
The influence of the Roman Concrete and Arch
INTRODUCTION
Ancient Rome achieved several nice accomplishments that have influenced varied cultures. Varied
governments, together with the U. S., have adopted parts of jus civile. Roman literature, like the
Aeneid, remains browse nowadays. This paper can examine the cultural Aeneid, remains browse
nowadays and examine the cultural influence of the Roman development of the arch, Concrete a
structure in building construction that might carry lots of weight. An arch may be a curvilinear
structure that is typically manufactured from stone, brick, concrete, or, a lot of recently, steel. Its
purpose is to support or strengthen a building. Most arches incorporate wedge shaped blocks. The
highest center stone, called the keystone, is the last block to be inserted. During construction, a
wooden frame often supports arches. When the frame removed, both sides of the arch press against the
keystone and thereby support the arch.
Body of the historic: From historical reading, understand The Romans did not invent the arch. Indeed,
arches been used since prehistoric times. The ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, and Greeks all used it.
The purpose of the arch in these cultures, however, was limited to supporting small structures, such as
storerooms, and people often used columns to support the roof. This design limited the size and scope
of a building. As a result, builders could not construct extremely large palaces or government

Big Bang Vs Nebular Hypothesis
Space, how was it formed, how old is it, how big is it and what does it contain? Those are a couple of
questions people think of themselves and their answers may vary. The Big Bang and Nebular
Hypothesis is a way that people would look at it, and others would think God created it in seven days.
The Big Bang created The Universe and the Nebular Hypothesis, created The Solar System. Even
though The Big Bang and The Nebular Hypothesis, created different things there are some things that
are similar. The Big Bang is an explanation of how The Universe was formed and the effort to explain

First, they both started a long time ago and it took a long time to get to where we are today. We know
this because it takes billions of years to create or form a universe and a Solar System. Another
similarity is that they both had a lot happening at the beginning, but it calmed down after a while. We
know this because they both had at least a 150 million year gap after sculpting the Solar System or the
Universe.
Even though there are some similarities to The Big Bang Theory and Nebular Hypothesis. There also
are a couple of differences that The Big Bang Theory and Nebular Hypothesis have. First The Nebular
Hypothesis, created our Solar System. As for The Big Bang Theory that created the Universe.

The Hidden Meanings Within Michelangelo s The Creation Of...
What are the hidden meanings within Michelangelo s The Creation of Adam? Is there significance in
God and Adam s stretched hands? Several art historians analyzed this particular aspect of the fresco,
and believe it to have deeper meaning; while many found significance in the nude figures next to and
around God. Each interpretation came about using a different methodology, explained in detail below.
While all of these interpretations are valid and offer special insight into the fresco, they are not based
in objective reason. In this essay, I will explain the significance of their stretched fingers using
simplified mathematics.
The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo is one of the most recognizable pieces of artwork in the
history of art and still today in modern times. This fresco is the fourth scene along the middle strip on
the Sistine ceiling illustrating stories from the book of Genesis. This scene portrays the Biblical
episode when God creates the first man, Adam. Many people recognize the image of God wrapped in
cloth extending his arm and pointing towards a naked figure, Adam, who is equally extending his
finger to meet God s. However, their fingers do not touch. They instead remain electrifyingly close in
a way that seems as if their fingers could collide at any moment.
While many people recognize the this fresco, many cannot fully understand the meaning behind
Michelangelo s brushstrokes. Even those who understand the fresco s aesthetic value, very few are
able to

  • 2. Chemical and Biological Uses of Weapons of Mass Destruction Chemical and Biological Uses of WMD The threat by terrorist groups in using Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) has increased significantly in the recent years. Preventing the creation and the utilization of these deadly weapons as well as their delivery systems and reducing those already in existence, has become of extreme importance to the government. Certain weapons of mass destruction, such as chemical and biological, are easier to acquire but much harder to detect. For that reason, they should be the highest priority. Predicting when and how an attack will occur, involving chemical or biological weapons, is not 100 percent possible; however, individuals should not ignore the possibility of such an attack happening here on American soil. In the past, there have been attacks involving Sarin gas, such as the Tokyo Subway attack, and just recently, the Sarin nerve agent use in Syria. Terrorist have the capability to use chemical WMD and have shown that they are willing to use this method in warfare. In addition, military biological WMD programs discovered in Iraq and Russia show that there is a definite biological threat as well. Preparing America to face this threat head on is a daunting task, but lacking preparedness could have devastating consequences beyond comprehension. Agencies, such as public health organizations, must be prepared to prevent illness and injuries resulting from biological and chemical terrorism, especially with a concealed attack by a terrorist. ... • 3. UNIT 53 Unit 1 Promote Positive Behaviour 1.1 Legislation is a set of laws that have been created by the government to make sure all childcare settings are run correctly. To promote positive behaviour, legislation s such as the Children Act 1989, Human Rights Act 1998, Every Child Matters 2004, Equality Act 2010 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are followed by the setting. These Act s include rules and regulations that a setting is required to follow in order to promote positive behaviour. All settings also follow Frameworks that are set by different companies that work with childcare settings. Other people that should be informed are people such as social services if the child is in care or there is previous history with social services. Other professionals the child may be involved with such as behavioural managers and physiotherapist should be told and information should also be shared with school governors so that policies can be reviewed and see if things can be changed to prevent the accident happening again. 1.5 It is important when dealing with challenging behaviour whilst still trying to promote positive behaviour that an incidents are dealt with accordingly and appropriately. When a challenging situation requires you to use a restrictive intervention then the least restrictive option should be used. This is because be using excessive force or reacting over the top could cause a the situation to get worse, for example if a child is causing disruptions and you don t use the least restrictive intervention it could cause the child s attitude to get worse and cause more disruptions. 1.6 All settings should have policies and procedures in place so people no how to deal with restrictive interventions. These should included a risk assessment of the setting and how risk can be reduced and avoided. The names of people who it may be likely that a restrictive physical intervention could be needed for should be available, any notes that relate to the children involved and how certain children should be handled ... • 4. Essay on Reflections on The Tao Te Ching Reflections on The Tao Te Ching When the early Christians had to keep their faith against the persecutions of the Roman Empire, they had obviously a visible enemy. Once their religion was legalized and established, however, they had new questions to ask concerning who they were, what could hurt their souls and their way of life. Some of them, at least, concluded that the materialism of the dominant Roman way of life was a non agressive, but equally corrosive force that would destroy them not physically, but spiritually. These Fourth Century Christians, men and women, then left their societies and withdrew into the desert to be able to find true paradise, not in a safe, secure niche in society, but in their relationship with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This assertion has always involved universally several profoundly felt assumptions. 1. That humans, unlike all other creatures, are called upon to develop, to become better than they are. 2. That to be most fully human requires individual choice and development by cooperative action with identifiable but demanding conditions. 3. That these conditions are truly universal, applicable and available to all people and in that sense absolute both in practice and in idea. In The Bhagavad Gita, for example, the poet says that whenever he reads the words of Krishna to Arjuna he enters into the Gita s predicament and experiences a change of soul. Similarly the Christian Gospels invite the hearers of the Word to participate in a divine life. 4. That there is something or some others or some One who is outside and beyond us and divinely interested in us as we succeed or fail at living up to our expectations. 5. That in stories, poems, myths, or codes, the elements of what it means to be human, as well as the passages from one level of awareness and life to another higher level, can be captured and shared, thus giving access to the wisdom of the culture. This wisdom may take two forms collections of specific rules and/or stories and poems that present the possibility of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Rapid Decline Of Crime In The 1990s Components of the Rapid Decline in Crime of the 1990s The 1960s were more than just Civil Rights and Woodstock. Contrary to what the people believed, the 1960s was an important decade in regards to ending the peaceful period of crime decline that the United States had been enjoying since 1930 (Levitt, Dubner 115 146). The United States was about to see the highest crime rates in its history by the end of the 1980s, heading for the 1990s. Upon entering the 1990s though, what was being recorded were record levels of crime, but in the opposite direction as predicted (Levitt, Dubner 115 146). Instead of the highest crime rates, the United States actually observed rates similar to that of the 1960s. Although the 1960s were when crime began to steadily ... • 6. Problems Regarding the Toronto Blessing Problems Regarding the Toronto Blessing In 1994, a small church was started near the Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Canada. This small church would spark a revolution attracting over 300,000 people making a pilgrimage to visit the church every year. The revolution began on January 20, 1994, when the congregation became overcome by spiritual laughter . This practice and others such as speaking in tongues, sounding like animals, shaking uncontrollably, and swooning occur regularly at the Toronto Vineyard Church. This phenomenon was called, the Toronto blessing (Gilley, 2000). However, the actions and philosophies associated with the Toronto blessing do not follow the teachings of Jesus and or the Bible, the fundamentals of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The disciples were not found in the Bible doing any of these from the power of the Holy Spirit they had received after Pentecost (Gilley, 2000). The Toronto believed they have specifically been blessed with these manifestations. However, they do not exclude other churches from the phenomenon; one can visit the Toronto Church and take the blessing back to their home church. The founder of the Vineyard Churches John Wimber has reservations about spiritual laughter and no Biblical evidence for manifestations. While he admits to this he does not advocating testing the phenomenon with scripture (Smith, 2006). Wimber wants the people to listen to him as the ultimate authority. However, Christians should follow what God has specifically given to his children as approvable for reproof, for doctrine, and for correction (The Holy Bible, 1989). John Arnott, the pastor of the Airport Vineyard Fellowship, tells his followers that they are not to even entertain the thought that they might become involved in any kind of counterfeit revival. Yet, the apostle John warned us to Test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (Gilley, 2000). Many of the pastors at such churches as the Vineyard churches have seen small congregations of unenthused worshipers. The experience of the phenomenon of manifestations is attractive to worshipers (Smith, 2006). A quote from South African charismatic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Labeling Deviant Behavior Essay Introduction: Have you ever experienced a time when your parents called you a genius and you truly felt like one? How about when a professor pointed fingers at you because he thought you were cheating on a test? Most certainly you felt some type of shame or guilt; or probably got so tired of your colleagues negative thoughts that you decided to embrace it and just go along with it. These are just a few examples of the impact that people s opinions or thoughts can have on your reputation. Think for a second about the Stanford Prison Experiment, which demonstrates the influential role that a situation can play in human behavior. The individuals chosen to perform as guards were placed in a position of power and thus they began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Labeling theorists suggest that labeling individuals as deviant has the potential of becoming a self fulfilling prophecy (Globokar, 2008). Howard Becker has described deviance as a consequence of the application by others of rules and sanctions to an offender ; the deviant is one to whom the label has successfully been applied; deviant behavior is behavior people so label (Clinard Meier, 2011:89). Culture, sex, age and other elements of identity all shape self conception, but the meanings that an individual places on various circumstances and interactions certainly play a very important role as well. It becomes difficult to normally interact with others once there is a negative impact of an individual s reputation and the conception and expectations of others reinforces that reputation. I am very familiar with the effect that labeling can have on a person. My uncle in Cuba is a great example of what labeling can do to your persona. I grew up very close to him and remember always going on trips and he would play around with all the time; to me he was the greatest uncle in the world. One day I heard a comment that slipped out of the mouth of some friends and they referred to my uncle as a thief or ratero . It appeared that my uncle due to the need of food decided to borrow a chicken from a neighbor s backyard; got caught and from there he obtained a new reputation. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Brief Note On The World Of A Mnc Most MNCs in the world want to move to the developing world because of their cost/benefit analysis and because they tend to be more powerful than many of the national governments of the countries they wish to enter. As a representative of a MNC, you are met with fierce resistance from human rights groups, national and international, and women s groups who argue that your company will lead to the displacement of thousands, disrupt the local economy and encourage labor rights abuses based on your record of dealing with other countries in the developing world. How would you respond and how would you negotiate? If I was representing the MNC, I would stress the potential long term benefits. First, the government would be able to tax my MNC and generate tax revenue. Additionally, the MNC will help that nation state s economy grow which would help the nation state gain more power in the international monetary system. Lastly, I would stress that my MNC would create new jobs and help create infrastructure in the nation state. In regards to human rights groups, I would promises to adhere to the labor laws of the nation state. We would create safe business environments in order to attract the best workers. Furthermore, the local economy will grow too, because the MNC would establish infrastructure that would help aid commerce. Additionally, by creating more jobs, incomes will increase, allowing for more consumption of local goods and services. Moreover, I would argue that by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Amritsar, India s holy city of the Sikh religion, British and Gurkha troops massacre at least 379 unarmed demonstrators meeting at the Jallianwala Bagh, a city park (History.com). The man responsible for this monstrous event is Reginald Dyer, a British general. The actions of General Dyer were unjust because the crowd he shot upon was nothing more than peaceful, he gave us no warning to disperse; and after the incident, Dyer gave no medical attention or help to the wounded. I was lying on the ground relaxing with half an ear to what the protestors were saying when General Dyer approached the entrance of the garden. He was followed by what was said to be 50 armed British soldiers all holding rifles tightly in their hands. The commotion of the crowd slowly vanished as everyone stood up in surprise and peered at the soldiers. Without warning, Dyer ordered his troops to block the garden s only exit and fired into the defenseless crowd, which included many women and children (Grolier Online). I scrambled throughout the screaming crowd, desperately trying to find safety. People hid behind bodies on the ground, some jumped to their death down a well in the middle of the garden, and others were killed in the circling stampede. The soldiers fired for 10 to 15 minutes till their ammunition was exhausted. As the terrified crowd tried to escape, they fell to the 1,650 bullets that were fired (Saha). I rushed to find safety behind a tree where I stayed, waiting and praying that the firing would cease. My ears ached at the screams and cries and my eyes cringed at the gruesome sights. Yet Dyer was interested more in the technique of his soldiers than in the human tragedy unfolding less than 50 ft. in front of him (Source 5). • 10. Edgar Allan Poe s Use of Descriptive Language in The Pit... Edgar Allan Poe s Use of Descriptive Language in The Pit and the Pendulum Edgar Allan Poe has been known for writing stories of mystery and horror. He has composed poems dealing with the occult. He favors those themes and ideas that people shy away from, death, pain, suffering, torture, terror, and fear. His gothic stories burn fright into the hearts of the reader or leave them with a sense of remorse for Poe s poor and unfortunate characters. Not many people have ever thought about how Poe goes about conveying these feelings to his readers and why it is so effective. Poe uses an abundance of descriptive language in order to convey the feelings of his choice onto his reader. This can be seen quite blatantly in The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wall of the dungeon then become red hot and begin to flatten in order to drive the narrator into the pit. Just as the walls were about to push him into the pit, he is rescued by the French General LaSalle. Throughout the story, Poe creates feelings of confusion, fear, terror, and suspense through his use of descriptive language. Author Paul Patterson says, Descending into the story of The Pit and the Pendulum , we are faced with emotions of claustrophobia, victimization, restriction, paranoia, and a overall sense of hopelessness ending in surprising liberation. (http://www.watershed.winnipeg.mb.ca/popitnpendulum.html, 1 2) All of these things occur throughout the story but can seen at the end of the story as the walls of the prison are closing in on the narrator. Death, I said, any death but that of the pit! ...At length for my seared and writhing body there was no longer an inch of foothold on the firm floor of the prison. I struggled no more, but the agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long, and final scream of despair. • 11. Analysis Of I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud Analysis of; I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud by William Wordsworth The poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud was written by William Wordsworth. It has a strong rhyming scheme and rhymes with every second line (1 and 3, 2 and 4) apart from the last two lines of each stanza, which rhyme together. The poem appears to be about a man who had found himself in a bad mood. The man uses old, happy memories to cheer him up whilst he is in these moods. The first stanza starts off with a lonely man, wandering around without much direction or emotion, quite quickly this progresses to hope and fondness, almost like a memory has been replayed in the mind of the man, lifting his spirits. This gives a potential background story to the man without directly mentioning anything, therefore adding meaning. The line that seems to capture this sudden change of heart are, when all at once I saw a crowd . Throughout this first stanza the writer simultaneously uses both imagery and personification. The effect that this has on the reader is that they can visualise easier when they are able to compare inanimate objects to emotions and actions they have done themselves. This creates a connection with the reader to the poem. The second stanza moves straight into the next topic, which is the stars and the sky that holds them. However the transition is not awkward thanks to the use of the word continuous which implies that he is only adding to the picture and not making anew. The words chosen express ... However, very few in the undeveloped world came to realization that inner beauty is just as valuable as external attraction/beauty. In sonnet 130, William Shakespeare displays the true meaning of attraction for ones lover through imagery and figurative language. Shakespeare begins the sonnet with a simile My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun; (130.1). However he seems to insinuate a harsh way of comparing his lovers eyes to the Sun. One can infer that the preferable color in a woman s cheeks are red and white. This is because of the use of the word Dmask d (130.5) Shakespeare s use of dmask d means a pattern of red and white on a rose meaning an exemplary flower for him. Also, it represents a beautiful color of cheeks. But no such roses see I in her cheeks; (130.6) is a metaphorical statement because roses in cheeks is physically impossible but very effortless to visualize because it means the color of one s cheeks(Metaphorically). Subsequent to this, Shakespeare seems to impose self conflict in himself which is exhibited by I love to hear her speak, yet well I know, That music hath a far more pleasing sound; (130.9 10) He expresses his attraction for the first time in the sonnet by saying that he loves to hear her speak. Admittedly, he is talking about his mistress. • 16. Critical Analysis Of Hester Prynne In the critical essay On The Scarlet Letter by D.H. Lawrence, Lawrence criticizes the portrayal of Hester Prynne in the novel, The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Lawrence displays his views of the novel by using juvenalian satire to express his thoughts in a humorous, insightful way. He narrows down on his scrutiny of the novel s main character, Hester Prynne. In his analysis, he focuses on Hester Prynne s devilish acts in seducing Dimmesdale which is a hidden sin. D.H. Lawrence effectively utilizes a mocking tone, a staccato like syntax, and a biblical allusion. Lawrence uses a mocking tone to convey his thoughts about how Hester Prynne is the devil. One example of how Lawrence demonstrates a mocking tone is when he states, Oh, Hester, you are a demon. A man must be pure, just that you can seduce him to a fall (Lawrence 1). Lawrence criticizes Hester by saying that she has the capability to destroy someone who is perfectly pure. Even the best person in the world would instantly fail just because of Hester according to Lawrence. He also states that The greatest triumph a woman can have, especially an American woman. Is the triumph of seducing a man: especially is he is pure. (Lawrence 1). Lawrence especially berates Hester for committing adultery, as he believes that adultery is one of the biggest sins that one can commit. His mocking tone in this remark, conveys how he thinks that Hester is the worst character in the novel due to all of her actions. Lawrence s mocking tone shows how he thinks that Hawthorne accepts adultery too easily. In order to express Lawrence s dismay for Hester Prynne, he uses a staccato like syntax. He uses short sentences to express the importance of what he is saying. For example, he states Flop. , Flop goes spiritual love. in two different lines (Lawrence 1). By stating these quotes, it also represents how Hester would never find true love because of how much of an awful person she is He states his thoughts in two short sentences to express his ideas quickly and effectively. This is because he thinks Hawthorne is too accepting about the idea and act of adultery. His use of these short phrases allows Lawrence to express his thought efficiently and effectively. ... • 25. Application Of Magnetic Polymer Nanocomposites Abstract Magnetic polymer nanocomposites have attracted broad interest for hyperthermic cancer treatment because they are non toxic, biocompatible, and can be remotely heated by alternating magnetic fields. The magnetic induction heating behavior provides a great benefit in biomedical applications, such as targeted drug delivery, and magnetic separation. In situ formation of an organic or polymer layer on their surface is one of the efficient methods for decreasing the aggregation between the nanoparticles, as well as providing functionality on the surface and allowing further functionalization with drugs and therapeutic agents. The most challenging task in hyperthermia is to maximize the specific absorption rate (SAR) with a lower ferrofluids dose. Magnetic nanoparticles coated with polymer layer combine the unique magnetic properties of multi functional nanoparticles with self heating property. In addition, it is easier in preparation by a one pot process. The formation of the nanoparticles with a higher SAR makes it a promising in hyperthermia cancer treatment. 1. Introduction The outstanding potential of magnetic polymer nanocomposites stems from the ability to obtain structures with the combinations of properties that neither individual material possesses. When the frame removed, both sides of the arch press against the keystone and thereby support the arch. Body of the historic: From historical reading, understand The Romans did not invent the arch. Indeed, arches been used since prehistoric times. The ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, and Greeks all used it. The purpose of the arch in these cultures, however, was limited to supporting small structures, such as storerooms, and people often used columns to support the roof. This design limited the size and scope of a building. As a result, builders could not construct extremely large palaces or government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. F631 Incident Analysis Unit Assessments and Corrective Actions: Overall, all four unit belts, gears, and wirings are in great working conditions. With the exception of a single F631 incident, coin inside note recycler at BA 00408, all 4 devices worked flawlessly during Friday night event. Meanwhile, below are a few opportunities for user training, certified technician training, hardware and software upgrades. User Training: While having a meeting with Dawn and Peter, I was asked to resolve a F631 at BA 00408; which was the very same unit that I did spent great deal of time to inspect and removed all torn notes prior to this meeting. It appeared that an associate inserted a penny inside this right note recycler separator. For the rest of the night, John and I observed much of the operators fan their notes; however, Dawn and Marybelle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I removed the service panel and we extracted all coins behind it to prevent any electrical arc All the screws for Separator PCB cover were missing for all 4 devices and these covers were held in place by a shutter wires. Luckily, Brennan gave me several of these crew before my departure and I able to replace as much as I can. Tech also need to adjust the till draw springs and the note recycler L bracket otherwise it will damage the Cherry switches. Hardware upgrades: It appeared that none of these units were part of last UMP. I strongly recommend the completion of these following upgrades: Elimination of the USB extensions since all of these recyclers experience D1501 daily or loss of communication with GBRU; especially, BA 00398 experienced multiple D1501 during my visit. Hopper manifolds L 2 motor assembly upgrades due to the high coin handling volumes BA 00398 needs a new printer since it still has the Fujitsu module All units should be bolted down ASAP to mitigating any challenge with door opening/closing and damaging to ... • 33. Big Bang Vs Nebular Hypothesis Space, how was it formed, how old is it, how big is it and what does it contain? Those are a couple of questions people think of themselves and their answers may vary. The Big Bang and Nebular Hypothesis is a way that people would look at it, and others would think God created it in seven days. The Big Bang created The Universe and the Nebular Hypothesis, created The Solar System. Even though The Big Bang and The Nebular Hypothesis, created different things there are some things that are similar. The Big Bang is an explanation of how The Universe was formed and the effort to explain what happened during and after that moment. The first piece of evidence is the Redshift of the Galaxies. A redshift is waved get longer and more spread apart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, they both started a long time ago and it took a long time to get to where we are today. We know this because it takes billions of years to create or form a universe and a Solar System. Another similarity is that they both had a lot happening at the beginning, but it calmed down after a while. We know this because they both had at least a 150 million year gap after sculpting the Solar System or the Universe. Even though there are some similarities to The Big Bang Theory and Nebular Hypothesis. There also are a couple of differences that The Big Bang Theory and Nebular Hypothesis have. First The Nebular Hypothesis, created our Solar System. As for The Big Bang Theory that created the Universe. Secondly, The Big Bang occurred around 13.7 billion years ago and the Nebular Hypothesis happened around 4.6 billion years ago. Which shows us that The Big Bang Theory is 9.1 billion years older than the Nebular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Hidden Meanings Within Michelangelo s The Creation Of... What are the hidden meanings within Michelangelo s The Creation of Adam? Is there significance in God and Adam s stretched hands? Several art historians analyzed this particular aspect of the fresco, and believe it to have deeper meaning; while many found significance in the nude figures next to and around God. Each interpretation came about using a different methodology, explained in detail below. While all of these interpretations are valid and offer special insight into the fresco, they are not based in objective reason. In this essay, I will explain the significance of their stretched fingers using simplified mathematics. The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo is one of the most recognizable pieces of artwork in the history of art and still today in modern times. This fresco is the fourth scene along the middle strip on the Sistine ceiling illustrating stories from the book of Genesis. This scene portrays the Biblical episode when God creates the first man, Adam. Many people recognize the image of God wrapped in cloth extending his arm and pointing towards a naked figure, Adam, who is equally extending his finger to meet God s. However, their fingers do not touch. They instead remain electrifyingly close in a way that seems as if their fingers could collide at any moment. While many people recognize the this fresco, many cannot fully understand the meaning behind Michelangelo s brushstrokes. Even those who understand the fresco s aesthetic value, very few are able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
