Lyme Disease Analysis
Lyme disease or Lyme Borreliosis is a vector borne disease that is caused by spirochaete Borrelia
burgdorferi bacteria (WHO, 2016). These bacteria are transmitted through the bites of infected deer
ticks (WHO, 2016). Symptoms of the disease include fever, chills, headache, fatigue, muscle and joint
pain (WHO, 2016). Often a rash appears at the site of the tick bite and may gradually expand to a ring
around the bite. Lyme disease was first observed in the State of Connecticut in 1975. Currently, the
disease may be found in forested areas of Asia, Europe and the United States. In these areas deer ticks
feed on mice and rodents, which serve as a reservoir for this bacteria (MayoClinic.org, 2015). Then in
adult hood deer ticks feed on white tailed and other targets of opportunity. Individuals who ... Show

Unfortunately, for individuals in the developing world resources are lacking. It is individuals in these
situations that are extremely vulnerable to potential exposure. Climate change is also impacting
disease transmission. Large environmental areas are shrinking due to urban sprawl which is leading to
increased populations density s, increased pathogen load, decreased distributions, and a greater
prevalence of disease (Mills, Gage, Khan, 2010). Thus, larger numbers of individuals are living in
close proximity of disease vectors. In this paper I have discussed the vector borne disease of Lyme
disease, and the zoonotic disease of Rabies. Both of these diseases are preventable and treatable but
they do present public health hazards. Climate change is adversely impacting environments and
humans are now living closer than ever to the boundaries of these diseases. In fact, in greater densely
populated areas more and more individuals are coming into contact with such diseases. Prevention
requires resources which many developing countries are lacking which leads to inadequate treatment

Is Adam The Most To Blame For The Fall Of Humanity Analysis
Why is Adam the most to blame for the fall of humanity? Adam is depicted as the main reason for the
fall of humanity, because Adam had many opportunities and qualities that Eve never possessed. First,
readers see Adams faults when the author writes, What weakness offered, strength might have
refused,/ Being lord of all, the greater was his shame, (Lanyer 35 36). Here Adam is presented as a
failure, due to his inability to remain strong like God created him to be. Weakness is not a quality that
should found in God s perfect creation. Next, we also see Adam go against Gods spoken word, And
from God s mouth received that strait command,/ The breach whereof he knew was present death;/
Yea, having power to rule both sea and land,/ Yet with one apple won to lose that breath, (Lanyer 43
46). Adam was the only one to hear God s one specific rule. He was aware of the repercussions, While
Eve never heard the warning from God s mouth. Adam s weakness and lack of leadership proves why
he is to blame for the destruction instead of Eve. 2. Why does the author chose the title Eve s Apology
in Defense of Women ? The author chose the title to illustrate Eve s Apology for her actions, while
implying her power towards equality for women. In the beginning, the author provides an image of
female power, writing, But hear the words of thy most worthy wife,/ Who sends to thee, to beg her
Savior s life, (Lanyer 7 8). Here Pilate s wife states her strong opinion on the crucifixion of

Labour Day In The Late 1800s
Labor Day occurs every first Monday in September. It is dedicated to the social and economic
achievements of American workers. Labor Day was created by the 19th century labor movement
(Labor Day, 2010). It became a federal holiday in 1894. To some Americans, Labor Day symbolizes
the end of the summer. It is celebrated with parties, parades, and athletic events. Labor Day originated
during the height of the Industrial Revolution in the United States which was in the late 1800s (Labor
Day, 2010). Around this time, the average American worked 12 hours days and seven days a week.
Even though there were regulations in some of the states, children who were as young as 5 or 6
worked in mills, factories and mines. They only earned a fraction of what the adults were earning.
Everyone, who worked, endured extremely unsafe working conditions, such as insufficient amounts of
fresh air, sanitary facilities and breaks. When manufacturing increasingly supplanted agriculture as the

There were even a few states that passed legislation recognizing it. However, Congress would not
legalize the holiday until 12 years later when a moment in American labor history brought the worker
s rights into public view. On May 11, 1892, Pullman Palace Car Company s employees in Chicago
went on strike to protest the wage cuts and the firing of the union representatives. On June 26, led by
Eugene V. Debs, the American Railroad Union called for a boycott of the Pullman railway cars (Labor
Day, 2010). This was going to hurt the railroad traffic nationwide. The federal government dispatched
troops to Chicago to break the strike. This caused deaths in more than 12 workers. After several days
of unrest and trying to repair ties with the American workers, Congress passed an act that made Labor
Day a legal holiday in the District of Columbia and the surrounding

Hunting Controversy
Whether we like it or not animals really make the world go around. Like cows who just by breathing
create oxygen, to other animals who with their migrations that leave paths throughout are foothills.
And yes even fertilizing the land with their discharge. Although these creatures who have been
roaming the lands long before any of us , have been altered with our interference of hunger and need
which has now made hunting a billion dollar company. Like most companies you would expect
viewpoints to clash causing controversy. A podcast by the name of the Rhino Hunter brings this up
showing how the auctioning off of rare animals is beneficial. They in fact action a older Black Rhino,

The people main fear is that the enjoyment of hunting is borderline for murderous un valid deaths of
hundreds of animals. With no animals throughout the lands it then creates our near extension. A major
event that puts hunting on the line of inhumane are glorified killing of innocent animals in rural places
such as in China. Here dogs and others are skinned then burned all with a smile on their face, and
what if the fates of these creatures was different . It very well could be, with the help of educating, the
citizens along with those protesting the animal lives all be erased. Why not show the respect for these
animals. The article Give Thanks for Meat shares Wislawa Szymborska s poem in which he recites
There is nothing more animal like than a clear conscience on the third planet of the sun (Bost). For the
non poem majors this is simply saying it is unrealistic to think you will never kill anything. What a

The Economic Order And Manufacture Quantity
The economic order/manufacture quantity (EOQ/EMQ) model developed by Harris (1913) is the
earliest reported scientific treatment of inventory systems, where the sum of inventory costs,
ordering/setup and holding costs, is minimized. Its simple mathematics and ease of calculation is
perhaps what contributed to its popularity with practitioners and academicians (e.g., Fulbright, 1979;
Osteryoung et al., 1986). The EOQ/EMQ model continues to be celebrated by many researchers
(Andriolo et al., 2014; Drake and Marley, 2014; Glock et al., 2014; Bushuev et al. 2015). The model s
popularity overshadows few critical voices (e.g., Selen and Woods, 1987; Woolsey, 1990; Weiss,
1990).
Many derivatives of the EOQ/EMQ appeared over the years, of which just in time (JIT) is one of them
(e.g., Andriolo et al., 2014). In contrast to the classical EOQ/EMQ model, just in time (JIT) produces a
product when needed and delivers it when wanted by customers. JIT considers inventory as a waste to
be reduced by producing in smaller lots more frequently, so fewer items are in the pipeline (Bonney
and Jaber, 2011). It also improves quality, productivity, responsiveness, machines availability,
workforce flexibility, space and equipment utilization, flow, and relationship with suppliers (Cavinato,
1990; Jones, 1990; Mehra and Inman, 1992). JIT is based on continuous improvement of which
reducing setup time (cost) is its primary driver (Zangwill, 1987; Jones, 1990;Cavinato, 1991). Readers

Examples Of Innocence In Catcher In The Rye
1: Life Can Be Cruel and Unfair (Allie) Holden s view of life is that it can be very cruel and unfair.
The origin of this thinking is from his younger brother Allie. He feels guilty that he is essentially
wasting his life away, while Allie died so very young of Leukemia. This is a huge part of his entire
journey. Holden always describes Allie as a very smart and kind person that he looked up to, which is
why he feels life is so cruel. 2: Innocence Is Bliss (Holden s Dream) Catcher In The Rye , is Holden s
dream. He stands in a field of rye, while catching children who are playing too close to a cliff. This
represents his love of children s innocence. When he sees kids who are innocent and how real it is, it
makes him very happy. Little things upset him, such as bad words on a wall, because of how powerful
pure innocence is to him. 3: Difference Between Authentic and (Phonies) Holden always speaks about
how he hates phony people. He respects those who are authentic and speak their mind. While this
makes sense, his opinion is very controversial, because this doesn t work in the real world. He feels
like his older brother D.B. is phony for writing scripts for Hollywood, and not following his dream of
doing his own work. Ironically, Holden could also be phony. 4: Hold onto the people you care about
(Phoebe) One of the few people Holden actually cares about is his sister Phoebe. Throughout his
journey, he always thinks and talks about her a lot. He cares for her so much

Essay on Three Contributions Of Chinese Immigrants
Three Contributions Of Chinese Immigrants
The Chinese started immigrating to the United States in 1849. They left China in search of a better
life. Life in China in the 1800 s was very hard. There wasn t enough food, money and the cities were
overpopulated. They heard about the United States and believed there was an opportunity to start over
again. They hoped to find jobs on the railroad or to strike gold. When they arrived in the United
States, life was difficult. Laws were made which discriminated against them. However, eventually
they became a respected part of our society. They are responsible for many contributions which are

American life today. This essay will describe three of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This was a very long time ago. It is thought that tea was first cultivated in China. Then the China tea
plant was taken to Japan in about 800A.D. In Japan, tea was used for medical purposes. When green
tea was developed in Chine, tea became a popular beverage. Tea was introduced into England in about
1660. It was a gift from the British East India Tea Company. The Company became a monopoly. It
controlled the trade of tea from China and from India. Soon, tea was introduced to the rest of Europe
and became a very popular beverage.
Tea is made from young leaves and leaf buds of a type of evergreen plant known as Camellia sinensis.
The name really means Chinese camellia. The name is because there are so many different types of
teas. A Chinese writer said there were a thousand and ten teas . Tea is considered black, green or
oolong.
Most of the international trade today is in black tea. Today, tea is drank all over the world, including
the United States. Tea is produced in about 30 countries, but China is still the largest exporter of tea.

Propaganda And Doublespeak And The World Of Doublespeak
The language of propaganda and doublespeak have an extended history, going back to the earliest
civilizations. Propaganda and doublespeak are the use of verbal exchange to have an impact on the
emotions, attitudes, and opinions of human beings. To try to get them to approve on a particular
political, religious, or economic point of view, or even to start a war. It is suspicious manipulation of
the opinions of the societies to a large extent by their government. In the effort to manage the nation s
thought process, the government has used the language of mass propaganda and doublespeak for
selling war.
In the essay, Propaganda: How Not to be Bamboozled, and The World of Doublespeak, both writers
discuss and explains the unusual types of propaganda and the misleading types of doublespeak. First,
Donna Woolfolk Cross labels the structures and the detailed methods propaganda presented in our day
by day life, and how to avoid being tricked. Also Cross thinks that it is important for people in a
democratic society to be well knowledgeable about propaganda due to how people get manipulated
into simply doing something except thinking. Additionally, Cross explains for us as readers the
different sorts of propaganda and how we view the topics in a positive way. She highlights in her
essay that propaganda is not continually negative; however, it also used in significant ways. Cross
presents in her essay that there are thirteen different types of

Globalization And Obesity Epidemic
Introduction
According to Globalization101.org, Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among
the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade
and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on
culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well
being in societies around the world. There are countless numbers of benefits and detriments of
globalization. Greater free trade, Greater movement of labour, Increased capital flows, Growth of

The increase of knowledge, trade and capital driven by new advancements in technology. There is
fierce debate among scholars about when globalization began. Stated by Investopedia.com.
Economists argue globalization started with the earliest human migratory routes, while others view it
far more modern. The term itself, globalization has seen common use since the 80 s. I believe
globalization started in the post war era when the United States was seen as the most powerful country
in the world. Multinational corporations set off a swell of consequences, both very positive and
negative. Investopedia.com states, The unpredicted ease of travel around the globe and the
development of modern communications are used to support this view of globalization. Capital
flowing from country to country around the world has changed the way businesses increase in size and
power. Thefreedictionary defines industrial capital as Capital advanced to produce surplus value and
functioning in the sphere of material production, including industry, agriculture, construction, and
transportation. Advancements in transportation (such as cargo ships, jet engines and cars) have created
a bridge to hundreds of countries and thousands of cities all around the world; thus increasing trade,
money, and knowledge all around the world. An article from the Obesity Prevention Source Defines,

Relational and Object-oriented Database Management...
Relational and Object oriented Database Management Systems
A database is a shared collection of logically related data designed to meet the information needs of
multiple users in an organization (Hoffer 709). Databases contain data records or files, such as sales
transactions, product catalogs and inventories, and customer profiles. Databases allows multiple users
in an organization to easily access, manage, store, and update data when needed.
A database management system is software designed to assist in maintaining and utilization large
collections of data, and the need for such systems and their use. The first general purpose database
management system (DBMS) was designed by Charles Bachman who worked for General Electric ...

Fifth, DBMS can schedule concurrent access to the data, where when more than one user is accessing
the data; users are protected from the possibility of system failures. Sixth, DBMS can reduce
application development time since DBMS supports many important functions common to the many
applications (Ramakrishnan 8 9).
There are some disadvantages to using a DBMS that must be taken into consideration however. For
example, a DBMS is complex software best used with certain kinds of workloads. This relates to its
performance not being adequate for certain specialized applications. Second, another application may
have to manipulate entered data in order to manage. This can create a problem if the second
application does not support the designed query language.
Developers of DBMS software are generally diverse in numbers and chosen fields. IBM and Oracle
are two popular ventures for DBMS developers. Each venture has its own Database Administrator that
manages DBMS for that place of business. The Database Administrator often designs schemas,
provides security, and restores the system if a failure occurs. There is also a Database Systems
Manager who monitors the running of the system, and managing users requests.
There are three common types of databases prevalent in the business arena: Relational, Object
Oriented, and Object Relational.

Creating An Information Management System
Management Summary Summary of requirements Club IT recognizes the pitfalls of their antiquated
system. Creating an information management system will advance their business protocols and
provide a cohesiveness between inventory control, wait staff monitoring, and data security. Adding an
additional focus on WiFi availability is an advantage to Club IT and their customers. Inventory control
is a primary concern to prevent overstock and out of stock dilemmas. Overstocking products effects
the budget negatively. Out of stock products essentially effects revenue negatively and hinders
customer satisfactions. A business intelligence model that encompasses database functionality and a
point of sale (POS) system features would remedy many of the inventory control downfalls. The
automation provided by an information management system would allow ?critical? products to be
automatically ordered when a designated remaining stock percentage is reached. For non critical
products, a notification would be sent to the owners to determine if the product should be ordered now
or at a later date. Sale figure reports from the POS system would provide valuable information on sale
quotas for all products. Critical product ordering will be fully automated with confirmation supplied to
owners after product is ordered from vendor. Non critical products simply need the owner?s approval
for the automation process to complete the order. A POS system, combined with an accounting and

Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of Shakespeare
It is the very error of the moon;
She comes more nearer earth than she was wont,
And makes men mad. (Othello 5.2.112 14)
The moon is often seen in literature as an allegory for love, virtue, and chastity. In Shakespeare s
comedies, especially, the moon is personified as Diana, the Roman goddess of chastity. In these
comedies, the foolish antics of lovers (literally, lunatics ) usually occur under the auspices of the
chaste goddess, the lovers behaving like hounds about her feet that snap at each other in competition
for her bounty. The moon as allegory for the lunacy of romance helps us understand Shakespeare s
view of romance. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The finest example can be found in Othello. Iago convinces Othello that Othello is being cuckolded by
his wife, after which Othello questions him, referring to his wife as the moon:
Why, why is this?
Think st thou I ld make a lie of jealousy,
To follow still the changes of the moon
With fresh suspicions? No; to be once in doubt
Is once to be resolved . . . (3.3.190)
The moon/Desdemona is seen as at once chaste and inclined to change. Later, Othello accuses
Desdemona of infidelity despite her protesting innocence. Again, he compares her infidelity with the
moon: What committed!/ Heaven stops the nose at it and the moon winks . . . (4.2.74). The moon,
once chaste, is now flirting. Similarly, Othello believes that Desdemona, once chaste, is cuckolding
him. These two examples show the multiple allegories of the moon that, similarly, exist in women.
The moon also symbolizes the changeability of Fortune. What does the Fortune have to do with the
moon? Shakespeare considered both of them to be much the same. Both have a cyclical nature (hence
the term, Wheel of Fortune ): the moon waxes and wanes just like Fortune waxes and wanes. John
Hankins noted that the traditional Latin scholarship that Shakespeare may have studied (such as
Macrobius who studied the relationship of the celestial bodies to mortals on earth) would have lead to
his understanding

Christmas Island Gender Roles
As a remote island country of only 2,205 inhabitants, it makes sense that most people have never

Ocean off the southern coast of Indonesia. To get an idea on the size of this minuscule island in
comparison to Washington DC, the 138.9 km long coastline is roughly three quarters the size of the
U.S. capital city. There are two seasons that this tropical island experiences throughout the year: a wet
season with monsoons all throughout the months of December to April, and a dry season the
remainder of the year with trade winds that cool down the island. Most of Christmas Island s coastline

The people of Christmas Island live what I would call a modernized Victorian lifestyle in that woman
are allotted the right to work, but gender roles are still very much prominent. There is no law against
discrimination in the workplace and that causes difficulty for women when they are looking for work.
In this country, men complete all the work while women stay home, tending to the family and their
home.
Marriage is still arranged in Christmas Island, although in the more urban areas of the island, love
matches are becoming more accepted. Virginity tests are still performed on brides, although the church
frowns down upon them. The people of Christmas Island hold high importance in family, so divorce is
not a very common practice in this country.
It is uncommon on the island to make direct eye contact with another person, as well as it is for one to
look at a person of high status or cut between the gaze of talking individuals. Making direct eye
contact in this country, oddly enough, is a sign of disrespect. Parents also do not allow their children to

U.s. Military Defense And Education
Security is most highest priority in every country but To nurture a secure nation, federal spending
must be balanced among military defense and programs that provide economic security, such as
education and health care . A worthy portion of any country s budget is spent on defence . To some
extent it is not a good idea for us to spend money on defending ourselves from imaginary enemies. We
spend significant sums of money preparing for wars that we later create and ignore the needs of our
own country. There are also other important sectors which needs to develop to bring economic growth.
It should be much better to spent in areas such as social welfare, health, and education. We do not
need such a massive, sprawling military ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But it turns out that military spending is actually a singularly good proxy for measuring just how big
the multiplier for government spending is. Countries that have a military or army enjoy an array of
benefits, ranging from job employment to the military, as well as a form of protection in the event of
military conflict. Some countries need a strong military more than others, depending on their strength
amongst other countries. The army also provides different job opportunities to locals who leave near
military bases. Thousands of folks work in different departments in the military building planes,
ammunition, guns, tanks, and other supplies need during combat. In simple terms, some people rely on
the military for work so that they can provide for their families. A military that is trained and funded
by the government can provide defense for a nation in the event of military or political conflict. In
other words, just having an army can make other countries reconsider invading your country as they
can assess whether they stand a chance to win or lose their platoons and expend a lot of resources and
reputation. Additionally, having a strong military can allow some nations to mobilize their personnel
to help others during military conflict. For instance The U.S. continues to give Israel military aid to
the tune of $3 billion every year, with plans to expand aid to $4 billion annually.

Death Penalty Is Wrong
Furthermore, the death penalty should be dismantled because research has shown that criminals have
been wrongly convicted and sentenced to the death penalty when later evidence comes up that proves
their innocence. To illustrate,
Since 1973, at least 121 people have been released from death row after evidence of their innocence
emerged. During the same period of time, over 982 people have been executed. Thus, for every eight
people executed, we have found one person on death row who never should have been convicted.
These statistics represent an intolerable risk of executing the innocent ( Innocence ).
To have even one person sentenced to death, let alone convicted of a crime and locked away for life is

For instance, Examining the death penalty from a human rights perspective not only highlights the
impact of denying the most basic right on all other rights but also demonstrates why the only solution
to the death penalty is to permanently end its use. If the injustices and practicalities associated with
capital punishment could somehow be erased the costs cut, the racial and class biases removed, and all
possibilities for error eliminated the government still cannot do it because it violates fundamental
human rights. A human rights based approach does not take issue with the accuracy, technique, or
timeliness of an execution. It provides a strict standard with which to say simply and unequivocally
the death penalty is wrong ( The Death Penalty Is a Human Rights Violation ). Even with eliminating
the major sticking points that most opponents use, as stated above, to justify why the death penalty
should be abolished, there still leaves the moral and ethical stance that the death penalty is plain and
simply against the basic human right to life. Equally important, The judge found, however, that

stopped breathing before technicians gave the paralytic agent, raising a serious possibility that
prisoners experienced suffocation from the paralytic, a feeling much like being

Plato s Allegory Of The Cave Analysis
The Matrix is a film that delves into many philosophical ideas, one of which is Plato s Allegory of the
Cave. In the allegory, prisoners are chained to the cave wall. They cannot move and are only allowed
to see the wall in front of them. Behind them is a burning fire, and puppeteers control the puppets that
cast shadows on the wall of the cave. The prisoners can only perceive what they see on the cave wall,
and their conception of reality is based on this incomplete view, which is an imperfect copy of the real
world.
However one of the prisoners breaks free from the chains and escapes from the cave. His eyes, used to
darkness, are blinded by the sun to the point that he wants to return to the cave. Slowly, his eyes adjust
and after much suffering and self realisation the man can finally perceive reality as it actually is. The

him to accept. Neo is blinded by the Sun s light in the film, he asks Morpheus Why do my eyes hurt?
Morpheus replies, Because you ve never used them before. Just like Plato s prisoner, Neo is at first in
denial, but eventually realises that the shadows he sees are not the truth, just shadows cast on the wall
by the puppets. His eyes get adjusted to the Sun s brilliant light and he sees reality.
Another interesting link between Plato s Allegory and The Matrix is that both the prisoner and Neo
grow more intelligent and develop new skills. They are in full control of their own abilities. The
prisoner in the Cave learns infinite wisdom once he breaks free from the cave. In The Matrix , Neo is
able to stop bullets, defy gravity, and possesses superhuman abilities once he accepts the truth and

Faith and Politics Essay
Faith and Politics
Nowadays, more so than ever before, religion plays a significant role in American presidential
elections. As citizens, our job is to examine that role and decide how it will affect our vote. The
Bush/Gore campaign has been very much influenced by religion. Joseph Lieberman, Gore s running
mate and the first Orthodox Jew to run for vice president on a major party ticket, has been extremely
vocal about his faith. Both George W. Bush and Al Gore, a Methodist and Baptist, respectively, have
also referred to their religious beliefs during this presidential campaign ( Anti Defamation League

And now we think Senator Lieberman crossed it (Pellegrini). The ADL is concerned partly because of
the possibility that Lieberman s comments will rouse anti Semitism in the American public. The Pew
Research Poll found that of those bothered by the merging of religion and politics, 49 percent
supported Lieberman and 30 percent did not. The statistics were virtually the same among those who
reported they were not concerned with politicians discussing religion. These results show that, so far,
there doesn t appear to be any hostility against Lieberman. Examining the bigger picture, the poll
found that about three quarters of the American public have a positive view of Jews (Lester). This
means that while the public isn t annoyed because he s Jewish and referring to his faith; but perhaps
his references to his faith may be negatively pinned to his being Jewish changing our perception of
Jews. The Anti Defamation League is also concerned with the (not so popular) principle of separation
of church and state. We do not think that religion belongs in the political campaign and political arena,

Allaphor To God And The Bible In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, there are several references to God and the bible, specifically the
book of Genesis. Shelley uses allusion to point to the idea of the parallels between Victor and the
Monster and the story of Adam and Eve. These allusions are not only comparisons of Victor to God
and the Monster to Adam but also Victor to Adam.
Driven by his mother s own death, Victor looked to science for a way to combat death and illness for
his own personal benefit and glory. By giving his creation life, he manages to attain the knowledge
and status similar to that of God. The creation of this monster, like Prometheus stealing of fire, leads
to Victor s punishment. His life becomes one of loneliness and isolation, brought upon him by the
creation of his creature and his attempt to be God. His carelessness and inability to fully understand
the complications with his experiment contributed to his downfall and ultimately leads to a diversion
in this comparison.
Bodies
Victor and the creation of his monster to God and the creation of Adam, I feel as though another
implication could be made. Victor Frankenstein could be seen as Adam. In Genesis God says to Adam,
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou
eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2). The creation of the monster sets off a series of events
ultimately ending in the death of Victor s family, leaving him to die alone in isolation. The

A Procedure For Ear Exception
Ear Irrigation WHAT IS EAR IRRIGATION? Ear irrigation is a procedure to wash dirt and wax out of
your ear canal. It is also called lavage. You may need ear irrigation if you are having trouble hearing
because of a buildup of earwax. You may also have ear irrigation as part of treatment for an ear
infection. Getting wax and dirt out of your ear canal can help some medicines given as ear drops work
better. HOW IS EAR IRRIGATION PERFORMED? The procedure may vary among health care
providers and hospitals. You may be given ear drops to put in your ear 15 20 minutes before irrigation.
This helps loosen the wax. Then, a syringe containing water and a sterile salt solution (saline) can be
gently inserted into the ear canal. The saline is used to

Impact Of The Atomic Bombs On Nagasaki And Hiroshima
The impact of the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima were the most destructive singular air
strikes against Japan. However, fire raids conducted by Major General Curtis E. Lemay were a
significant factor in the air campaign against Japan. They also inflicted more casualties to the Japanese
populous and damage to Japanese infrastructure than the atomic bombs (Hanson 60). The decision and
execution of these attacks by General Lemay contributed to the overall success of the pacific
campaign. The changes that General Lemay made to the XXI Bomber Command created more
victories for the Americans with a lower casualty rate. These victories can also be attributed to the
success of air power at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of war. Prior to General Lemay s
control of the XXI Bomber Command, Brigadier General Haywood S. Hansell Jr. was conducting
high altitude bombing campaigns on Japanese infrastructure. The bombing command had a solid
foundation with its safe base infrastructure, tactics, and organization of command. B 29s stationed at
bases in Guam, Tinian, Saipan and Iwo Jima were being more well constructed leading to less
problems during air raids. With better aircraft, missions could have fewer issues occurring leading to
higher success rates. The major setback that aircrafts were having was the weather. Because the
bombers were at such high altitudes during their attacks it led to overheating of engines and other
mission essential issues. Thunderstorms

Irony Of Empathy In Raymond Carver s Cathedral
Kiano Tran
Professor Gray
English 102
27 September, 2016
Looking beyond Empathy is the ability to understand and vicariously share the feelings and thoughts
of other people. Empathic feelings are fundamental for humans in social and interpersonal life because
they enable human beings to tune their mental states to their social environment as well as to
understand others intentions, actions, and behaviors. In particular, empathy for pain is a source of deep
emotional feelings and a strong trigger of prosocial behavior. In the fictional short Cathedral , written
by Raymond Carver, the author cast significant irony: a narrator who ignorantly disdains blindness

Barnes Noble vs. Amazon
To attain a competitive advantage over Amazon.com, Barnes Noble needs to develop a proper strategy
and implement a successful marketing plan.
SITUATION ANALYSIS
Barnes Noble first must consider the issues and problems facing their company, and then perform an
opportunity analysis to determine their strengths and weaknesses in relation to their customers,
competitors, and company capabilities. In regards to the main concerns of Barnes Noble, the company
needs to worry about the uncertainties associated with the expected rapid growth of the Internet, the

With their traditional stores, Barnes Noble established a 2.5 million title database designed to help
consumers find books, but despite this advancement, the company s distribution structure is far
inferior to Amazon.com s. Both the tax exempt online purchased books and the traditionally purchased
ones are routed through the same distribution center in New Jersey and have to be separated from each
other to avoid confusion. Contrarily, their main competitor is much more efficient and cost reducing.
Amazon.com s West Coast operation permits non Washington state residents from paying sales taxes,
and instead of working with publishers, the company depends on wholesalers to provide fast
turnaround in shipment, allowing them to have few books on hand at their distribution center. In the
marketing channel, this just in time production reduces inventory levels, thereby lowering costs in
production and storeroom fees. Because of increased competition, Barnes Noble needs to develop a
plan to enhance their own market position and to challenge Amazon.com s channel advantage.
ALTERNATIVES
In order to deal with the issues posed above, Barnes Noble has to focus on a possible alternative
strategy. At this time,

This is designed to provide an incentive for people to work extra hours and keep more of what they
earn.
Changes to the tax and benefit system also seek to reduce the risk of the poverty trap where
households on low incomes see little net financial benefit from supplying extra hours of their labor. If
tax and benefit reforms can improve incentives and lead to an increase in the labor supply, this will
help to reduce the equilibrium rate of unemployment (the NAIRU) and thereby increase the economy
s non inflationary growth rate.
Changes to indirect taxes in particular can have an effect on the pattern of demand for goods and
services. For example, the rising value of duty on cigarettes and alcohol is designed to cause a
substitution effect among consumers and thereby reduce the demand for what are perceived as de
merit goods . In contrast, a government financial subsidy to producers has the effect of reducing their
costs of production, lowering the market price and encouraging an expansion of demand.
The use of indirect taxation and subsidies is often justified on the grounds of instances of market
failure. But there might also be a justification based on achieving a more equitable allocation of
resources e.g. providing basic state health care free at the point of use.
Lower rates of corporation tax and other business taxes can stimulate an increase in business fixed

What Is The Theme Of Courage By Anne Sexton
Karely Colon
Period 5
April 25, 2015
Poem Analysis Courage is a feeling, perhaps everyone has felt before, even if it wasn t acknowledged.
People refer to courage as an act of stepping out ones comfort zone, putting any fear a person may
have to the side and overcoming something that needs everything inside to do. Anne Sexton, a
confessional poet depicts courage in all forms in her poem Courage. Sexton was very open and shared
painful details in her poems. Some are against it and others would appreciate her work. Life
necessitates courage to overcome the challenges of everyday living. This poem gradually leads to an
acceptance of death after a life of courageous moments. Sexton helps one visualize something as small

This stanza is a transition into the life of someone who is at first suffering from great despair. Sexton
describes it as, Getting a transfusion from the fire / picking the scabs off your heart / then wringing it

suffering. Lines 32 37 then transition to someone trying to relieve their sorrow and mend their scars. It
takes courage from one to move on from a heart wrecking event. Sexton then writes, It woke to the
wings of the roses / and was transformed (37 38). A person shows courage when they can take their
sorrow and pain and turn it into something greater, possibly a motivation or a way to help

Global Economic Conditions and Market Analysis
Global economic conditions The global economic conditions have a direct bearing on the local
economic condition within the nation. This means that the product (SOC) has also be greatly affected
in terms of demand and distribution. The global economic growth has been noted to have slowed
down over 2012 and this trend is expected to be sustained over the next two years. This means there
will be a downgrade to the earlier projected growth rate, though there still will be a growth rate, albeit
at a lower pace than was hitherto foreseen. The UN Department of Economic and Social affairs (2013)
forecasts a 2.4% global growth in 2013 and a further 3.2% global growth in 2014. This means that the
recovery from the job loss that was triggered in 2008 recession takes longer. What this means for the
local microeconomic situation in the country is that more people prioritize the essential and basic
goods first and considering the daily consumption supply as a priority. This negatively impacts on my
business since the cards that are exchanged globally, particularly during the special seasons and
occasions are often considered secondary needs hence one would get into buying on either online or
physically, if and when they shall have fulfilled their primary needs.

Essay Comparing The Awakening and Story of an Hour
Comparing The Awakening and Story of an Hour
The heroine, Mrs. P, has some carries some characteristics parallel to Louise Mallard in Hour. The
women of her time are limited by cultural convention. Yet, Mrs. P, (like Louise) begins to experience a
new freedom of imagination, a zest for life , in the immediate absence of her husband. She realizes,
through interior monologues, that she has been held back, that her station in life cannot and will not
afford her the kind of freedom to explore freely and openly the emotions that are as much a part of her
as they are not a part of Leonce. Here is a primary irony.
Also, the rhetoric Chopin uses is full of contradictions from the beginning. not only that, but there are

The relatively open and honest (less suppressed)culture of the Creoles is one which catalyzes her
human sensibilities. Who could blame her? Especially Madame Ratignolle, and the way Chopin
describes her sensuousness and warmth, would be compelling features it seems for anyone to be
attracted to and to want, almost unconsciously, to emulate. Second, the attentive nature of Robert
LeBrun is so marked and attractive when compared with Leonce s domineering, controlling, even
neglectful ways in which he treats (and does not treat) his family, (but with a measure of trying to
placate them as the result of his own selfishness at Klein s). When he wins, he forgets all about the
candy and peanuts he promised his children. With Edna, he is talkative, but not attentive. Still, though,
Edna is culturally in over her head when it comes to the sensual honesty and astonishingly implicit
trust of these men to let their wives do what they do at this time in history. Thus far, I see an ostensibly
lethal combination of Mme R and Robert working, however innocently in Edna s life.
A more obvious trigger for her sensual nature is Mlle Reisz, who upon playing for her at the
beginning, affords that pictures be conjured up in Edna s mind as she plays. After the reinforcement of
Robert s affections upon her, continuing to impart obsession into her mind, Mlle R s playing hits the
very core of her being, and we see that indeed her body and soul

Advocating For Meriwether Lewis As The Face Of The $ 10 Bill
Advocating for Meriwether Lewis as the Face of the $10 Bill Introduction I believe that the
Meriwether Lewis is one of the most qualified candidates for being on the $10 bill. Meriwether Lewis
is most widely known for his part in leading the Corps of Discovery on their expedition across the
land of the recently acquisitioned Louisiana Purchase. The expedition took place between May of
1804 to September of 1806 and spanned from St. Louis, Missouri to Fort Clatsop in present day
Oregon. During this period Lewis, the Corps, and his former commanding officer and friend William
Clark set out to observe and map the Western lands. Along the way, Lewis and his companions
discovered many new species of wildlife and plants. Many of these species are represented by
sketches in the logs both Lewis and Clark kept. After returning from their expedition, Lewis became
the governor of the Louisiana territory and was given a generous slice of land in the new region. In
1809, he attempted suicide while on the road to Washington D.C. While Lewis was unsuccessful in his
attempts to kill himself, he later succeeded in shooting himself at an Inn. He eventually succumbed
and was buried just outside the Inn. A memorial now lies where his body was laid to rest. Throughout
the next sections, I will provide a more detailed description of Lewis s life and exploits, along with his
lasting significance both at the time and at present day. Early Life Meriwether Lewis was born in Ivy,

Non Effective Followers And The Groups Of Followers,...
The four groups of followers operated as alienated followers, sheep, yes people, and survivors, all
lacking the key factor of being able to succeed without strong leadership. Sheep lack initiative and
sense of responsibility, while yes people refuse to be against the leader (Wren 195). Alienated
followers tend to think more independently but are prone to group think. They are normally
dissatisfied and/or resentful. Any of these three groups can at any time merge into the survivor group
because this group of followers operate under the slogan better safe than sorry (Wren 195). If a leader

Transformational leadership is used by a leader to appeal to the moral values of followers in an
attempt to raise their consciousness about ethical issues and to mobilize their energy and resources to
reform institutions (Yukl Charismatic 261). Pseudotransformational leadership refers to
transformational leadership, but when the leader is self consumed, exploitive, power oriented, [and]

When first studying Jim Jones, one would think that he led through transformational leadership;
however, he actually leds through pseudotransformational leadership. Since Jones preached about
equality and accepting all men, his messages seemed consistent with ethical morals. He also formed a
lively church setting, where people would dance, jump, run around, yell, and scream. This stirred
emotions in most members and even visitors, and is often talked about in movies (McCloud). One
would think that people would be tired after all the commotion, but, on the contrary, people felt
revived and energized after services. Jones finally showed his true style when he moved part of his
congregation to Guyana. At this location, Jones

My Passion For Cheerleading

Becoming a cheerleader at such a young age, being on the cheer mat became a happy place for me. I
spent thirteen out of my eighteen years of my life cheerleading and it is definitely something that
means a lot to me. Being on the cheer mat whether at practice or at competition has taught me many
life lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Having such caring and dedicated coaches made
my experience so special and unique. My passion for cheerleading shows tremendously as soon as I
step on the mat, and learning many life lessons from cheer has shaped me into the person I am today.
In competitive cheerleading stunting is one of the most important things in a cheer routine. Stunting is
something every team wants to be the best at, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be the
best. Throughout a majority of my cheerleading career I was a base. A base is the girl at the bottom of
the partner stunt/pyramid who lifts up the flyer. I loved to base. I had lots of experience as a base and
it became very easy to me. Coming on to the high school competition cheer team as a freshman, I
knew there was a lot of new things I would have to learn as a base. I was very motivated and
dedicated to be the best base I could be and that took lots of practice. The next year, coming onto the
team as a sophomore my coaches had the idea for me to become a flyer. Flying is something I have

Does Smoking Cause Lung Cancer Essay
INTRODUCTION
It s a proven fact. Each year more Americans die from lung cancer and other smoking related diseases

danger to our life and health. It is the leading known cause of lung cancer. Each year more than 30,000
people will die of lung cancer and 4 out of 5 of them will get it because of cigarette smoke. Studies
have proven that there is no safe way to smoke. Tobacco contains many dangerous cancer causing

cancer falls each year as abnormal cells are replaced by normal cells. In ten years, the risks decreases

Internal Analysis Of Equipment Division At Nike Essay
Assignment #2: Internal Analysis
I have completed an internal analysis of the equipment division at Nike through focusing on product
differentiation as their generic business strategy. In an effort to fully view the current state, pertaining
to competitive advantage, a VIRIO analysis was examined based on a handful of resources and
capabilities.
After reviewing the 12 bases of differentiation, Nike s equipment division focuses primarily on
product features, consumer marketing, reputation, linkages among functions in the firm, and links with
other firms.
Product Features: Product features is an obvious way in which Nike differentiates their products by
altering the features of the products they have on the market. Product features encompass the
characteristics of their equipment products provided by Nike. Nike is able to produce high quality
products through focusing on design and innovation. The current President and CEO, Mark Parker
stated, At Nike, we believe it is not enough to adapt to what the future may bring we re creating the
future we want to see through sustainable innovation. The company has built their legacy upon
continued improvement and innovation as they focus on their product features. However, Nike does
offer a variety of equipment products, which will be assessed more with the VRIO breakdown. It may
be difficult to have the resources available to gain a competitive advantage among all the different
product lines in which they are involved.

  • 2. Lyme Disease Analysis Lyme disease or Lyme Borreliosis is a vector borne disease that is caused by spirochaete Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria (WHO, 2016). These bacteria are transmitted through the bites of infected deer ticks (WHO, 2016). Symptoms of the disease include fever, chills, headache, fatigue, muscle and joint pain (WHO, 2016). Often a rash appears at the site of the tick bite and may gradually expand to a ring around the bite. Lyme disease was first observed in the State of Connecticut in 1975. Currently, the disease may be found in forested areas of Asia, Europe and the United States. In these areas deer ticks feed on mice and rodents, which serve as a reservoir for this bacteria (MayoClinic.org, 2015). Then in adult hood deer ticks feed on white tailed and other targets of opportunity. Individuals who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, for individuals in the developing world resources are lacking. It is individuals in these situations that are extremely vulnerable to potential exposure. Climate change is also impacting disease transmission. Large environmental areas are shrinking due to urban sprawl which is leading to increased populations density s, increased pathogen load, decreased distributions, and a greater prevalence of disease (Mills, Gage, Khan, 2010). Thus, larger numbers of individuals are living in close proximity of disease vectors. In this paper I have discussed the vector borne disease of Lyme disease, and the zoonotic disease of Rabies. Both of these diseases are preventable and treatable but they do present public health hazards. Climate change is adversely impacting environments and humans are now living closer than ever to the boundaries of these diseases. In fact, in greater densely populated areas more and more individuals are coming into contact with such diseases. Prevention requires resources which many developing countries are lacking which leads to inadequate treatment for those whom are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Is Adam The Most To Blame For The Fall Of Humanity Analysis Why is Adam the most to blame for the fall of humanity? Adam is depicted as the main reason for the fall of humanity, because Adam had many opportunities and qualities that Eve never possessed. First, readers see Adams faults when the author writes, What weakness offered, strength might have refused,/ Being lord of all, the greater was his shame, (Lanyer 35 36). Here Adam is presented as a failure, due to his inability to remain strong like God created him to be. Weakness is not a quality that should found in God s perfect creation. Next, we also see Adam go against Gods spoken word, And from God s mouth received that strait command,/ The breach whereof he knew was present death;/ Yea, having power to rule both sea and land,/ Yet with one apple won to lose that breath, (Lanyer 43 46). Adam was the only one to hear God s one specific rule. He was aware of the repercussions, While Eve never heard the warning from God s mouth. Adam s weakness and lack of leadership proves why he is to blame for the destruction instead of Eve. 2. Why does the author chose the title Eve s Apology in Defense of Women ? The author chose the title to illustrate Eve s Apology for her actions, while implying her power towards equality for women. In the beginning, the author provides an image of female power, writing, But hear the words of thy most worthy wife,/ Who sends to thee, to beg her Savior s life, (Lanyer 7 8). Here Pilate s wife states her strong opinion on the crucifixion of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Labour Day In The Late 1800s Labor Day occurs every first Monday in September. It is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. Labor Day was created by the 19th century labor movement (Labor Day, 2010). It became a federal holiday in 1894. To some Americans, Labor Day symbolizes the end of the summer. It is celebrated with parties, parades, and athletic events. Labor Day originated during the height of the Industrial Revolution in the United States which was in the late 1800s (Labor Day, 2010). Around this time, the average American worked 12 hours days and seven days a week. Even though there were regulations in some of the states, children who were as young as 5 or 6 worked in mills, factories and mines. They only earned a fraction of what the adults were earning. Everyone, who worked, endured extremely unsafe working conditions, such as insufficient amounts of fresh air, sanitary facilities and breaks. When manufacturing increasingly supplanted agriculture as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were even a few states that passed legislation recognizing it. However, Congress would not legalize the holiday until 12 years later when a moment in American labor history brought the worker s rights into public view. On May 11, 1892, Pullman Palace Car Company s employees in Chicago went on strike to protest the wage cuts and the firing of the union representatives. On June 26, led by Eugene V. Debs, the American Railroad Union called for a boycott of the Pullman railway cars (Labor Day, 2010). This was going to hurt the railroad traffic nationwide. The federal government dispatched troops to Chicago to break the strike. This caused deaths in more than 12 workers. After several days of unrest and trying to repair ties with the American workers, Congress passed an act that made Labor Day a legal holiday in the District of Columbia and the surrounding ... Although these creatures who have been roaming the lands long before any of us , have been altered with our interference of hunger and need which has now made hunting a billion dollar company. Here dogs and others are skinned then burned all with a smile on their face, and what if the fates of these creatures was different . It very well could be, with the help of educating, the citizens along with those protesting the animal lives all be erased. Why not show the respect for these animals. The article Give Thanks for Meat shares Wislawa Szymborska s poem in which he recites There is nothing more animal like than a clear conscience on the third planet of the sun (Bost). • 6. The Economic Order And Manufacture Quantity The economic order/manufacture quantity (EOQ/EMQ) model developed by Harris (1913) is the earliest reported scientific treatment of inventory systems, where the sum of inventory costs, ordering/setup and holding costs, is minimized. Its simple mathematics and ease of calculation is perhaps what contributed to its popularity with practitioners and academicians (e.g., Fulbright, 1979; Osteryoung et al., 1986). The EOQ/EMQ model continues to be celebrated by many researchers (Andriolo et al., 2014; Drake and Marley, 2014; Glock et al., 2014; Bushuev et al. 2015). The model s popularity overshadows few critical voices (e.g., Selen and Woods, 1987; Woolsey, 1990; Weiss, 1990). Many derivatives of the EOQ/EMQ appeared over the years, of which just in time (JIT) is one of them (e.g., Andriolo et al., 2014). In contrast to the classical EOQ/EMQ model, just in time (JIT) produces a product when needed and delivers it when wanted by customers. JIT considers inventory as a waste to be reduced by producing in smaller lots more frequently, so fewer items are in the pipeline (Bonney and Jaber, 2011). It also improves quality, productivity, responsiveness, machines availability, workforce flexibility, space and equipment utilization, flow, and relationship with suppliers (Cavinato, 1990; Jones, 1990; Mehra and Inman, 1992). JIT is based on continuous improvement of which reducing setup time (cost) is its primary driver (Zangwill, 1987; Jones, 1990;Cavinato, 1991). Readers are referred to ... • 7. Examples Of Innocence In Catcher In The Rye 1: Life Can Be Cruel and Unfair (Allie) Holden s view of life is that it can be very cruel and unfair. The origin of this thinking is from his younger brother Allie. He feels guilty that he is essentially wasting his life away, while Allie died so very young of Leukemia. This is a huge part of his entire journey. Holden always describes Allie as a very smart and kind person that he looked up to, which is why he feels life is so cruel. 2: Innocence Is Bliss (Holden s Dream) Catcher In The Rye , is Holden s dream. He stands in a field of rye, while catching children who are playing too close to a cliff. This represents his love of children s innocence. When he sees kids who are innocent and how real it is, it makes him very happy. Little things upset him, such as bad words on a wall, because of how powerful pure innocence is to him. 3: Difference Between Authentic and (Phonies) Holden always speaks about how he hates phony people. He respects those who are authentic and speak their mind. While this makes sense, his opinion is very controversial, because this doesn t work in the real world. He feels like his older brother D.B. is phony for writing scripts for Hollywood, and not following his dream of doing his own work. Ironically, Holden could also be phony. 4: Hold onto the people you care about (Phoebe) One of the few people Holden actually cares about is his sister Phoebe. Throughout his journey, he always thinks and talks about her a lot. He cares for her so much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They left China in search of a better life. Life in China in the 1800 s was very hard. There wasn t enough food, money and the cities were overpopulated. They heard about the United States and believed there was an opportunity to start over again. They hoped to find jobs on the railroad or to strike gold. It is thought that tea was first cultivated in China. Then the China tea plant was taken to Japan in about 800A.D. In Japan, tea was used for medical purposes. The Company became a monopoly. It controlled the trade of tea from China and from India. Soon, tea was introduced to the rest of Europe and became a very popular beverage. Tea is made from young leaves and leaf buds of a type of evergreen plant known as Camellia sinensis. The name really means Chinese camellia. • 9. Propaganda And Doublespeak And The World Of Doublespeak The language of propaganda and doublespeak have an extended history, going back to the earliest civilizations. Propaganda and doublespeak are the use of verbal exchange to have an impact on the emotions, attitudes, and opinions of human beings. To try to get them to approve on a particular political, religious, or economic point of view, or even to start a war. It is suspicious manipulation of the opinions of the societies to a large extent by their government. In the effort to manage the nation s thought process, the government has used the language of mass propaganda and doublespeak for selling war. In the essay, Propaganda: How Not to be Bamboozled, and The World of Doublespeak, both writers discuss and explains the unusual types of propaganda and the misleading types of doublespeak. First, Donna Woolfolk Cross labels the structures and the detailed methods propaganda presented in our day by day life, and how to avoid being tricked. Also Cross thinks that it is important for people in a democratic society to be well knowledgeable about propaganda due to how people get manipulated into simply doing something except thinking. Additionally, Cross explains for us as readers the different sorts of propaganda and how we view the topics in a positive way. She highlights in her essay that propaganda is not continually negative; however, it also used in significant ways. Cross presents in her essay that there are thirteen different types of ... Stated by Investopedia.com. Economists argue globalization started with the earliest human migratory routes, while others view it far more modern. The term itself, globalization has seen common use since the 80 s. I believe globalization started in the post war era when the United States was seen as the most powerful country in the world. Multinational corporations set off a swell of consequences, both very positive and negative. Investopedia.com states, The unpredicted ease of travel around the globe and the development of modern communications are used to support this view of globalization. Capital flowing from country to country around the world has changed the way businesses increase in size and power. Thefreedictionary defines industrial capital as Capital advanced to produce surplus value and functioning in the sphere of material production, including industry, agriculture, construction, and transportation. Relational and Object oriented Database Management Systems A database is a shared collection of logically related data designed to meet the information needs of multiple users in an organization (Hoffer 709). Databases contain data records or files, such as sales transactions, product catalogs and inventories, and customer profiles. Databases allows multiple users in an organization to easily access, manage, store, and update data when needed. Fifth, DBMS can schedule concurrent access to the data, where when more than one user is accessing the data; users are protected from the possibility of system failures. Sixth, DBMS can reduce application development time since DBMS supports many important functions common to the many applications (Ramakrishnan 8 9). There are some disadvantages to using a DBMS that must be taken into consideration however. For example, a DBMS is complex software best used with certain kinds of workloads. This relates to its performance not being adequate for certain specialized applications. Second, another application may have to manipulate entered data in order to manage. This can create a problem if the second application does not support the designed query language. Developers of DBMS software are generally diverse in numbers and chosen fields. IBM and Oracle are two popular ventures for DBMS developers. Each venture has its own Database Administrator that manages DBMS for that place of business. The Database Administrator often designs schemas, provides security, and restores the system if a failure occurs. There is also a Database Systems Manager who monitors the running of the system, and managing users requests. There are three common types of databases prevalent in the business arena: Relational, Object Oriented, and Object Relational. Relational Database Management System Edgar F. • 13. Creating An Information Management System Management Summary Summary of requirements Club IT recognizes the pitfalls of their antiquated system. Creating an information management system will advance their business protocols and provide a cohesiveness between inventory control, wait staff monitoring, and data security. Adding an additional focus on WiFi availability is an advantage to Club IT and their customers. Inventory control is a primary concern to prevent overstock and out of stock dilemmas. Overstocking products effects the budget negatively. Out of stock products essentially effects revenue negatively and hinders customer satisfactions. A business intelligence model that encompasses database functionality and a point of sale (POS) system features would remedy many of the inventory control downfalls. The automation provided by an information management system would allow ?critical? products to be automatically ordered when a designated remaining stock percentage is reached. For non critical products, a notification would be sent to the owners to determine if the product should be ordered now or at a later date. Sale figure reports from the POS system would provide valuable information on sale quotas for all products. Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of Shakespeare It is the very error of the moon; She comes more nearer earth than she was wont, And makes men mad. (Othello 5.2.112 14) The moon is often seen in literature as an allegory for love, virtue, and chastity. In Shakespeare s comedies, especially, the moon is personified as Diana, the Roman goddess of chastity. In these comedies, the foolish antics of lovers (literally, lunatics ) usually occur under the auspices of the chaste goddess, the lovers behaving like hounds about her feet that snap at each other in competition for her bounty. The moon as allegory for the lunacy of romance helps us understand Shakespeare s view of romance. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The finest example can be found in Othello. Iago convinces Othello that Othello is being cuckolded by his wife, after which Othello questions him, referring to his wife as the moon: Why, why is this? Think st thou I ld make a lie of jealousy, To follow still the changes of the moon With fresh suspicions? No; to be once in doubt Is once to be resolved . . . (3.3.190) The moon/Desdemona is seen as at once chaste and inclined to change. Later, Othello accuses Desdemona of infidelity despite her protesting innocence. Again, he compares her infidelity with the moon: What committed!/ Heaven stops the nose at it and the moon winks . . . (4.2.74). The moon, once chaste, is now flirting. Similarly, Othello believes that Desdemona, once chaste, is cuckolding him. These two examples show the multiple allegories of the moon that, similarly, exist in women. The moon also symbolizes the changeability of Fortune. What does the Fortune have to do with the moon? Shakespeare considered both of them to be much the same. Both have a cyclical nature (hence the term, Wheel of Fortune ): the moon waxes and wanes just like Fortune waxes and wanes. John Hankins noted that the traditional Latin scholarship that Shakespeare may have studied (such as Macrobius who studied the relationship of the celestial bodies to mortals on earth) would have lead to his understanding

Military Defense And Education Security is most highest priority in every country but To nurture a secure nation, federal spending must be balanced among military defense and programs that provide economic security, such as education and health care . A worthy portion of any country s budget is spent on defence . To some extent it is not a good idea for us to spend money on defending ourselves from imaginary enemies. We spend significant sums of money preparing for wars that we later create and ignore the needs of our own country. But it turns out that military spending is actually a singularly good proxy for measuring just how big the multiplier for government spending is. Countries that have a military or army enjoy an array of benefits, ranging from job employment to the military, as well as a form of protection in the event of military conflict. Some countries need a strong military more than others, depending on their strength amongst other countries. The army also provides different job opportunities to locals who leave near military bases. Thousands of folks work in different departments in the military building planes, ammunition, guns, tanks, and other supplies need during combat. In simple terms, some people rely on the military for work so that they can provide for their families. A military that is trained and funded by the government can provide defense for a nation in the event of military or political conflict. In other words, just having an army can make other countries reconsider invading your country as they can assess whether they stand a chance to win or lose their platoons and expend a lot of resources and reputation. Additionally, having a strong military can allow some nations to mobilize their personnel to help others during military conflict. To illustrate, Since 1973, at least 121 people have been released from death row after evidence of their innocence emerged. During the same period of time, over 982 people have been executed. Thus, for every eight people executed, we have found one person on death row who never should have been convicted. A human rights based approach does not take issue with the accuracy, technique, or timeliness of an execution. It provides a strict standard with which to say simply and unequivocally the death penalty is wrong ( The Death Penalty Is a Human Rights Violation ). Even with eliminating the major sticking points that most opponents use, as stated above, to justify why the death penalty should be abolished, there still leaves the moral and ethical stance that the death penalty is plain and simply against the basic human right to life. In the allegory, prisoners are chained to the cave wall. They cannot move and are only allowed to see the wall in front of them. Behind them is a burning fire, and puppeteers control the puppets that cast shadows on the wall of the cave. The prisoners can only perceive what they see on the cave wall, and their conception of reality is based on this incomplete view, which is an imperfect copy of the real world. However one of the prisoners breaks free from the chains and escapes from the cave. His eyes, used to darkness, are blinded by the sun to the point that he wants to return to the cave. Shelley uses allusion to point to the idea of the parallels between Victor and the Monster and the story of Adam and Eve. These allusions are not only comparisons of Victor to God and the Monster to Adam but also Victor to Adam. Driven by his mother s own death, Victor looked to science for a way to combat death and illness for his own personal benefit and glory. By giving his creation life, he manages to attain the knowledge and status similar to that of God. The creation of this monster, like Prometheus stealing of fire, leads to Victor s punishment. His carelessness and inability to fully understand the complications with his experiment contributed to his downfall and ultimately leads to a diversion in this comparison. However, fire raids conducted by Major General Curtis E. Lemay were a significant factor in the air campaign against Japan. They also inflicted more casualties to the Japanese populous and damage to Japanese infrastructure than the atomic bombs (Hanson 60). The decision and execution of these attacks by General Lemay contributed to the overall success of the pacific campaign. The changes that General Lemay made to the XXI Bomber Command created more victories for the Americans with a lower casualty rate. These victories can also be attributed to the success of air power at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of war. Prior to General Lemay s control of the XXI Bomber Command, Brigadier General Haywood S. Hansell Jr. was conducting high altitude bombing campaigns on Japanese infrastructure. Changes to the tax and benefit system also seek to reduce the risk of the poverty trap where households on low incomes see little net financial benefit from supplying extra hours of their labor. If tax and benefit reforms can improve incentives and lead to an increase in the labor supply, this will help to reduce the equilibrium rate of unemployment (the NAIRU) and thereby increase the economy s non inflationary growth rate. Changes to indirect taxes in particular can have an effect on the pattern of demand for goods and services. Meriwether Lewis is most widely known for his part in leading the Corps of Discovery on their expedition across the land of the recently acquisitioned Louisiana Purchase. The expedition took place between May of 1804 to September of 1806 and spanned from St. Louis, Missouri to Fort Clatsop in present day Oregon. During this period Lewis, the Corps, and his former commanding officer and friend William Clark set out to observe and map the Western lands. Along the way, Lewis and his companions discovered many new species of wildlife and plants. Many of these species are represented by sketches in the logs both Lewis and Clark kept. After returning from their expedition, Lewis became the governor of the Louisiana territory and was given a generous slice of land in the new region. In 1809, he attempted suicide while on the road to Washington D.C. While Lewis was unsuccessful in his attempts to kill himself, he later succeeded in shooting himself at an Inn. He eventually succumbed and was buried just outside the Inn. A memorial now lies where his body was laid to rest.
