Nuclear Families Research Paper
In society, there are many nuclear families that have different ways of raising their children due to social classes that
remain present. Nuclear families consist of a pair of adults and their children. Due to the different social classes parents
take into account different childrearing methods, cultural logic, and religion affiliation. When raising their children
families in a higher Asantie Yeboah 5 class, take care of their children through concerted cultivation. They put their
children in numerous activities such as club teams which control a family s life, particularly for the mothers. The reason
behind this is because parents believe these activities are important skills to learn for their children. Families also in a
higher class talk to their children to discipline them. Parents in the working class and poor class apply natural growth.
Many parents of the working class provide love, food, and safety anticipating their children will advance and succeed.
They do not focus on developing their children s special talents. For this reason, working class children have more free
time and better relationships with their extended families. Working class and poor also use ... Show more content on

Religion occupies a central role in nuclear families in a lower class as they use it as a way of life that assists families to
survive life within a social inequality. Religious beliefs continue to influence families child rearing practices. Many
children from nuclear families have parents that are very spiritual in child rearing; their families rely on the principles
underlying their spiritual beliefs. Families that are religiously affiliated use advice from the teachings of religious books
when discouraging behavior such as drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, consuming illegal drugs and having sexual
relationships (Ochieng 2013) and said that spiritual meditation is a form of relaxation that promotes good mental

Beach Dinner Research Paper
Daytona Beach Dinner Time! On the very hot and humid day of June 20th, I was at my condo on Daytona Beach. The
waves were crashing onto the shore, leaving thousands of seashells behind. When a cool breeze from the south blew, it
shook the palm trees, in which my hammock was hung. I was planning a summer party and getting the decorations ready
in my condo, and I heard a huge thud outside. I ran to my door and opened it, and there was Albert Einstein on the
ground. Around him in a circle, stood George Washington, Ben Franklin, and Justin Bieber. They looked worried, so I
ran over to see what happened. Albert was lying unresponsive in the sand. I asked, What in the world happened here? Do

I put a fold up table with a table cloth in the sand near the water. I brought water, pop, and orange juice to the table. Ben

sat beside George, because I wanted to learn more about him and being the first president. I asked George Washington,
So, what battles have you fought in? He answered very slowly, Well I have fought in many, but The Battle of Trenton,

The Failure Of A Psychodynamic Relationship
The problem with cross sex friendships is the failure to meet and keep up a platonic relationship. These relationships
start out in the levels of friendships from acquaintances to personal or intellectual, ultimately evolving into intimate and,
or emotional. The triangular theory of love is then tested by a matter of combinations of the three following components
intimacy, passion and commitment. After there is a set combination, evolved feelings show through attraction, one sided
feelings, personality similarities, attachments and the risks. Cross sex friendships can not have a relationship without the
components of the triangular theory of love without resisting the inevitable feelings evolving between the two.
There are a variety of relationships in which people misinterpret or have a hard time defining. Alongside with the

The Last Judgement Tympanum At St-Lazare Analysis
The Last Judgment tympanum at Saint Lazare is also incredibly significant due to the fact that no other tympanum from
the Romanesque is so boldly and recognizably claimed by the artist. In the middle of the composition is the phrase
Gislebertus hoc fecit , which roughly translates to Gislebertus made this and serves as the alleged artist s signature. As
mentioned previously, few of the large stoneworks from this era can be directly linked to a specific person. The signature
left behind at Saint Lazare can be easily interpreted as a big display of artistic confidence, a quality more frequently seen
from master artists of the Renaissance and onward. During this period, Romanesque sculptures attached to architecture
were relegated in status to secondary importance to stonemasons, and the tympanums were seen as very separate objects.
By placing his signature here, Gislebertus claims the piece as his own work and firmly establishes himself as an artist
rather than simply a sculptor. There are historians who question whether the signature left behind is actually indicative
of patronage rather than the artist responsible for it; a patron placing themselves within a piece ... Show more content on

In contrast, the figures on the right side have received condemnation and face the wrath of several devilish figures. This
exact orientation of the saved and damned figures is showcased in nearly every depiction of the Last Judgment, no
matter the period or year of its creation. Within the ranks of the saved are varying degrees of ecstasy and rapture on the
faces of the figures, all looking towards their savior Christ. Conversely, the damned are depicted in various states of
intense agony; the figures are all bent into several extreme, angular and anguished poses amplifying the severity of their

Persuasive Essay On Fast Food
As time has passed, Americans have become downright lazy and inconsiderate when it comes to preparing their meals.
They substitute fresh, nutritional, balanced meals for a big mac on their way to work. Since Americans have become so
lazy, the emphasis is on quick service rather than the quality of the food. Open 24/7! It takes two hands to hold a
whopper! There s fast food, then there s KFC! Your way, right away! As Americans continue to fill their bodies with
fatty, processed, fake food, people around the world starve, and their access to clean drinking water is limited. So how is
America to help? Now, when I state this, know it is not for my own gain. I am not starving, malnourished, nor am I
grossly obese. This is simply a gain for the world, so that we may help those in need. In order for fast food chains to shut
down, we would need to get rid of the obese people. How do we do this in a civil manner? Feed them to the
malnourished. Now I know what you re thinking what is considered obese? Some people work out excessively, and a
healthy 400 pound male that can lift that weight has a higher BMI because of the muscle. I mean to say the large ones,
made entirely out of excess fat, the meat ready to slide off their bones the way it slides off of Colonel Sander s chicken.
By feeding these overweight people to the malnourished, we not only will solve world hunger, but this will solve
overpopulation. People over the BMI of 30 + will be put to death, and for a reasonable, redeeming cause. Those who are
18 will receive the meat of the generous donors. Those in the healthy range will continue to eat the way they do, while
being monitored by a doctor, of course, so we can watch their eligibility for being overweight. Those who are
overweight put on a watch list. The lower the BMI on the overweight side, the less you are to be harassed by the
government. If you re teeter tottering on the obese line, you are put in a hospital, so that as soon as you can be put to
slaughter, it s done. Not only will this solve world hunger and overpopulation, but America won t need volunteers to go
over to these underdeveloped, third world countries, which will spare our time and supplies. Why would we waste our

My Personal Reasoning For Choosing Nursing
Becoming a nurse offers a great opportunity to improve the way an individual s thoughts process, by converting from a
creative thinker to a critical thinker. This facilitates the general care levels of people and gives a positive atmosphere in
the environment. In this essay I will explain and describe my personal reasoning s for choosing nursing as a career; the
skills, qualities and inspirations that I have obtained throughout my life which have influenced me. Also describing the
importance and benefits of reflective practice for nurses, discussing how I will use it in my career as a nurse. Nursing,

The Beauty Of The Bluesd Eyes In Toni Morrison s The...
The beauty of blue eyes
The Bluest Eyes is a story of a black girl named Pecola who dreams of having the ideal family portrayed in the story of
Dick and Jane the white American family: She comes to realize that this life she dreams of is unattainable since she is
black in a white society. She is enamored with Shirley Temple, a beautiful blue eyed white girl. Pecola feels that if she
has blue eyes she would be beautiful and endeared to others. Morrison s novel describes how Pecola and her family
strive to live up to the white standards that are imposed on them by a white society but find this goal to be unattainable.
Pecola is made to feel that her blackness is ugly and not valued, only to have her feeling validated by others. Despite
what she experiences, Pecola never gives up on her dream of beautiful blue eyes, only leading her into despair. The story
begins with the description of Pecola s family : they live in a storefront because they were poor and black and they
stayed there because they believed they were ugly (Morrison 38). Unfortunately, Pecola s feelings of ugliness are
reinforced by her own parents; her father Cholly s ugliness came from his despair, dissipation, and violence directed
toward pretty things and weak people (Morrison 38). Pecola states the following regarding her Mother Pauline: But I
knowed she was ugly. Head full of pretty hair, but Lord she was ugly (Morrison 126). Pecola was doomed to a life of

What is a government without public recreation and park services, libraries, museums, therapeutic recreation and other
similar services? How will a community be able to survive or even grow individuals? When you want to downsize a
government it will apprehend individuals in more criminal activities than usual. If the government decides to downsize

Crowd Protests
Crowd action was a common form of protest because the British could not do much when the colonists banded together
in large groups because it was hard to control them. The violence they showed kept the leader powerless and it made
them be forced to agree with what the mobs wanted. Crowd protesting was a common thing to do back in colonial times.
The British liked the idea of the stamp act but did not like the protests. He said that he was out doing normal things
when his house was brutaly attacked. I wish colonial leaders could be convinced what terrible consequences there are
from such demons when they are let loose in a government where there is not constant authority at hand to suppress
them. This means he thought that the colonists

In the prior Literacy Action Plan, the material, resources, and information used and found were done for specific
reasons. These reasons were found by using data from state assessments and district assessments from Okeechobee
School District. Janice Greenberg stated Tony Wagner goes on to say that children will need seven basic survival skills
to succeed in the world that awaits them which are as follows: 1) Critical thinking and Problem Solving, 2)Collaboration
across Networks and Leading by Influence, 3) Agility and Adaptability, 4) Initiative and Entrepreneurialism, 5) Effective
Oral and Written Communication, 6) Accessing and Analyzing Information, and 7) Curiosity and Imagination

Should a superhero show have a perfect example of psychological theory to be successful? Some television viewer
would not care, since it is a fictional story, but I believe so. For a superhero show to connect with people, not only does
it need to have a great action and fight scene, but the show need to be realistic, at least in a psychological level way. One
show in mind that does a great job in executing this is, the DC comic book hero character The Flash . The Flash

Holding On, A Story Excerpt
One week had gone by, and that was all it took for Serena to lose her bright eyes, her charming personality, and her
strong demeanour. In place stood a woman with dark, tired eyes, unclean and unmotivated, she had hardly left her bed,
the world felt scary. She always knew, Ric s death would be hard on her, but she did not think it would be this hard and
she was avoiding people at all costs.
She had briefly spoken to Jess, who called to see how she was; it was an emotional call, in which Jess, offered to take
control of the funeral plans. Serena, sounded so broken, and so adamant that she could not arrange it herself, she did not
know where to begin, and although, Jess had lost her father, and the emotional baring was tough on her. Jess, felt that the
pressure of a arranging a funeral could see Serena fall into darker depths.
Other than Jess, Serena had not spoken to anyone; she had not even told her own daughter of Ric s death, she did not
want to disrupt her university work. Serena did not want Eleanor, to feel responsible for her; it was not her job to look
after her.
With a sore head, and a strong crave for something sugary, Serena left her bed, and headed downstairs, and through to
the kitchen. She had hardly eaten over the past week, and when she did eat, it was takeaway food; she just really did not
care about herself. She felt that life was unfair, cruel, Ric did not deserve to die, and he did not deserve to suffer.

Situational Leadership Theory And Organizational Leadership
Situational Leadership Theory and Organizational Leadership
Why are some employees happier and more satisfied with their work environment than others? Why are some teams
within the same organization more productive than others? How can you get subordinates to trust your decisions, readily
cooperate with others and follow your lead? The answer to these questions boils down to one thing; effective leadership.
For our purpose, effective leadership can be defined as the art of influencing individuals and groups to accomplish the
goals and objectives of the organization (Plunkett, Allan, and Attner, 2013). Effective leadership has a direct impact on
the motivation, or lack thereof, of employees and how they interact with others within the organization. Followers will
also act in ways that reflect their leaders example, whether it is positive or negative. It is obvious that the leadership
culture within our organization is ineffective and employee productivity and morale has slipped to unacceptable levels.
Because of our current situation, the following information is presented to you, as managers and supervisors, as a guide
to help you become a more effective leader. There are many theories on how best to lead and motivate employees,
however, for our purposes, we will concentrate our study and efforts on the situational leadership theories.

Rubella Research Paper
First characterized as a mild sickness characterized by adenopathy, a rash, and hardly a fever, George Maton did not
think much of the disease in 1814. However, later on, a scientist by the name of Veale gave it the name of rubella in
1866. Rubella (German Measles) attracted hardly any attention before 1942, when it was discovered by Norman Gregg
that birth defects were being linked with maternal rubella in the first trimester. It was until 1962 that the full gravity of
rubella embryopathy remained a mystery. In that year, two different groups by the names of Neva and Weller; and
Parkman, Buescher, and Artenstein; isolated and clarified rubella in a single tissue culture. (1) Utilizing the newly

There are no symptoms in about 50% of the people infected with the disease. Symptoms that may show up would
include: a mild fever, swollen glands, a rash spreading from the face to the body, and aching joints (typically in younger
women). (2) (4) The disease is primarily dangerous for a fetus. Rubella can cause birth defects and, in some cases,
miscarriage. Coughing or sneezing helps to spread the rubella virus, and even asymptomatic individuals can spread it. It
is suggested to get a lot of rest and drink plenty of fluids when you have the disease. It might also be helpful to take pain
relievers, including acetaminophen and aspirin, to help with the fevers and inflammation. There are about seven days,
starting from the onset of the rash, that people are contagious. They need to be isolated from people who are not
immunized, as well as coworkers and students from school. (3) Each defect caused by CRS (congenital rubella
syndrome) requires a different treatment, and each treatment is specific for a certain defect. (3) The rubella vaccine is the
most common prevention used for rubella. The vaccine has seen widespread use, and it has been preventing outbreaks
and birth defects due to CRS for years. Children between the ages of twelve and fifteen usually receive the vaccine as
part of their MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine. Once they reach four to six, they receive the

The Ugly Renaissance Discussion Of Italy
The Ugly Renaissance Discussion
1. Why did the Renaissance originate in Florence and prosper for so many years?
In many ways, Italy had benefits over northern Europe in detaching from the feudal system and accumulating enormous
amounts of wealth. I think that above all else, geography was Italy s anchor in this respect. Being a projecting land mass
sticking out into the Mediterranean Sea, and beneficially located between the main part of Europe and the Byzantine
Empire, cities within Italy had little choice but to weave endeavors of commerce into every day life while engaging in
the market and foreign trade. Therefore, Italy became prone to the extensive continuity of goods and novelties earlier
than other European areas. Accordingly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Florence was exposed to the principles and ideologies of foreign regions and immersed them into the art and literature
produced thereafter. That then percolated to the rest of the other European nations and the rest of Italy itself. The Medici
maintained these connections rooted and stable by way of finance and politics and guaranteed that Florence, throughout
the Renaissance, was an advocate of the arts. Furthermore, had it not been for the establishment of a connection between
the Medici and the Papacy, Florence and Rome, it seems, may have actually been rivals grown under the essence of
partnership and collaboration during the Renaissance. Rome supplied many Florentine artists with a harbor, and, in turn,
Florence took advantage of the administration of the papal funds.
2. What were the differences from the Middle Ages promoted by the Renaissance? Often, the Renaissance is
acknowledged as an era of artistic refinement. However, couldn t it also be said that the Renaissance, for the most part,
clung to the spiritual and religious motifs of the Middle Ages? If so, what were the differences, during that period, from
the Middle Ages as promoted by the Renaissance?
Regardless of the likenesses to medieval art encircling subject matter and theme, Renaissance artists undoubtedly
interrupted the stagnant standards of medieval art. As previously stated, the themes of the Middle Ages were rather
consistent, but the Renaissance style was unprecedented in its

Women In The Tang Dynasty
Throughout the long history of mankind, women s status has been through a huge historical evolution. Ancient Chinese
feminism is obviously more noticeable than other cultures due to its feudal and conservative society. Yuan Zhen, who is
a famous Chinese writer and politician in Tang Dynasty, has written one of the greatest masterpieces in that time period
called The Story of Yingying. In the story, he reflects the awakening of feminism in the Tang Dynasty by describing the
love tragedy about Zhang and Cui Yingying as well. However, there are a lot of different distinctions on people s
opinions on this story, and many people believe that Cui Yingying is just simply a woman who does not know how to

This event makes the status of women improved a lot, and it also leads a lot of litterateurs to start changing their view on
the famous female character Cui Yingying. Many female roles can be able to pursue their own love which represents one
aspect of feminism (DeBlasi 39 40). From many literary works, Women in the Tang Dynasty can now fully displayed
their confidence and beauty. Feminism is the belief that woman have equal political, social, sexual, love, intellectual and
economic rights to men (Holdsworth8). Though Yingying is not completely fitted to the whole standards, but she has
chased her love and what she does has become a progress of awakening feminism. Also her bold act to pursue their love
becomes a symbol of the awakening of feminism. The author Yuan Zhen describes Yingying as expressions of either joy

Why Volkswagen Will Race Ahead Of Auto Peers
Volkswagen (VLKAY), world s third largest automaker behind Toyota (TM) and General Motors (GM), has been an
exceptional performer in the automotive industry, gaining 158% over the last five years. Although the U.S. is one of the
Volkswagens smaller markets, it is a top seller in the Europe and China. As the company aspires to become the global
industry leader by 2018, here are a few reasons to back up its ambitious claim.
European auto industry poised for a rebound
Europe s beleaguered auto industry endured a six year slump, with auto sales falling to the lowest level in nearly two
decades, as a sluggish economic recovery put a brake of spending. However, going by the recent data trend, the industry
is headed for a revival this year. European auto sale increased 7.6% in February, marking the sixth straight month of
sales increase, as steady economic recovery in Italy, Portugal and Spain spurred demand for new cars, according to the
Association of European Carmakers (ACEA). The improving consumer confidence, amid a recovering economy, is
likely to drive a 2% to 3% upside in 2014.
Volkswagen, Europe s biggest automaker, is best positioned to benefit from the auto industry rebound. As a matter of
fact, it has significantly helped the region s improved sales in recent months, posting rises of 8.9% and 7.2%,
respectively, in January and February this year. If demand holds up, Volkswagen can considerably outperform the
regional market this year. Furthermore, global auto sales

we had a long weekend ahead of us. We dropped all of our suitcases off in the cabins and proceeded on to the main

everyone prayed that the next activity would be at least slightly better. We started to walk out, but before we could leave

The Romantic Period was a very imaginative and creative period of thinking. The literature produced during this period
reflected this wild and free spirited imagination. The works dismissed the Enlightenment thinkers in their claims of
Reason, progress, and universal truths (Damrosch, 1317). Instead, these writers explored superstitions and had a
renewed sense of passion for the wild, the unfamiliar, the irregular, and the irrational (Damrosch, 1317). Other common
elements of the writing during this period were the returned interest of gothic romance elements, a fascination of
exploring the inner world of the mind and the unconscious into its dark side, an interest in emotional ... Show more

This is not even the complete list of Romantic elements found within the books borders. To sum up the elements, one
needs to include all of the conflicts found in the novel, both the internal and external conflicts. These include things like
Nature vs. Civilization, the Wild vs. the Tame, the Deep and Elemental vs. the Superficial and Impermanent, and Natural
Impulses vs. Artificial Restraint (Agatucci, 4).
All of these different elements are combined into this one novel, showing the avant garde genius of Emily Bronte. She
was a very creative innovator full of an incredibly gifted imagination and otherworldy sense for the supernatural ghosts
of the past and the hidden personal demons found deep in the unconscious mind, which she displays in the character of
Heathcliff especially.
Heathcliff starts out in the story as the most outcast of the outcast. He is picked up and adopted from the streets of
Liverpool by the head of the household on one of his journeys to town he takes every once in a while. He starts out as
this ugly and hideous creature who is ridiculed and beaten by the other kids in the house. He finds one true playmate and
friend in the rambunctious Cathy, who is a free spirit that falls in love with his mysterious character. This relationship
becomes forbidden however when the father dies and the oldest son takes over the household. Heathcliff is banished
from the house eventually,

Is the Self Reference Effect More Effective On Children s Memory Rather Than Adults?

Abstract
The study will investigate the self reference effect with two different age groups. The two age groups will be young and
older adults, trying to obtain material. The first group is told to relate that information to themselves or past experiences
and, the second group is only told to review the material given. The purpose of this experiment is to see if the self
reference effect is more beneficial to children rather than adults. To conduct this study, the observer has to use the
naturalistic research stragesty and also see the within experimental designs. In order to have a positive income on the
self reference effect. Throughout, my research I have found, like young adults, older adults exhibited superior
recognition for self referenced items relative to the items encoded with the alternate orienting tasks, but self referencing
did not restore their memory to the level of young adults (Gutchess, A. H., Kensinger, E. A., Yoon, C., Schacter, D. L. 1).
Thus, from past research experiments the self reference effect has seen to be more limited in adults than children.
Does the self reference effect more beneficial to children than adults? My study is based on how the self reference effect
will help children s memory rather than adults because children s brains are still developing. Children develop a

The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act
Health care cost has been constantly rising and a problem in this country for years. Millions go without much needed
medical care every year due to the lack of health care. For many the emergency room is their first contact with medical
care. The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) intends to significantly decrease the number of uninsured in
American. The PPACA, is said to be most comprehensive insurance reform since 1965, (the year in which Medicare and
Medicaid were implemented) was signed into law on March 23, 2010 by President Obama. PPACA will renovate the
entire United States insurance market. PPACA requires most citizens to either purchase health care coverage privately or
through their employer, or face a penalty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There has been much, debate between supporters and opponents of the law, over the pros and cons of the PPACA. It is
undoubtedly an immense piece of legislation, which affects several portions of the U.S. health care system. There are
those who believe that PPACA will not decrease the various cost associated with the U.S. health system, but will cause a
cost increase. According to these individual, any purported decreases to the deficit is a result of imaginative accounting
on behalf of the CBO and the Obama administration. The goal of this paper is to examine the effects the PPACA on the
health care system. The focus will be to give a brief overview of insurance premiums and Medicaid expansion.
Background
The PPACA is composed of the following ten Titles. They will be listed and broadly discussed below.
Title I. Quality, Affordable Health Care for all Americans will allow for the following: 1. Mandate that all Americans
must be insured, unless they meet a certain income level, this helps to reduce overall cost. 2. Individuals cannot be
denied coverage due to pre existing illness and 3. Individuals who cannot affordable coverage will get assistance from
the government; either through subsidy or Medicaid expansion in those states that chose to accepts.

The Great Migration Essay
As the world moved throughout the time of 1890 1945, the United states experienced a myriad of events that moved it
closer to the founding ideals. However, the main ideal, which was supported by plenty of actions, became evident to be
opportunity . Some of the events that brought the United States closer to the American ideals was the great migration,
women in WWII, and African Americans in WWII. Each of these happenings/positions opened doors to other people
allowing them to explore new possibilities, hence why they support the forward movement to the ideal of opportunity .

Analysis and Application: Police Encounters with Suspects and Evidence David Green CJ227: Criminal Procedure Prof:
Kurt Austin Zimmer May 29, 2012 As long as there are people who engage in suspected criminal activity, there will
always be the police with whom they will have an encounter. Good, bad or indifferent there will always be these
questions that will need to be answered; were the police legally justified in the way they approached and carried out
their encounter with the suspect? And, were there any exigent circumstances involved during the encounter? The
following answers these questions. 1. Did Officer Smith have reasonable suspicion to make the initial stop of this

The gun was in plain view because once the suspect took off in her car, and crashed into a pole, two things happened.
She was rendered unconscious and the impact from the accident caused the glove compartment to pop open , thus
revealing the weapon. Once that happened the weapon was in plain sight and legally obtained. 5. Will the marijuana
baggie be admissible evidence? The baggie of marijuana will be admissible in evidence in court because this was an
emergency police situation and it fell into plain view of the officer. Plus, because the suspect was unconscious due to her
own folly, there was no expectation of privacy and a search warrant was not needed. If the police s search is in an
emergency situation, then they may not need a search warrant. For example, if the police are pursuing an armed suspect
that has disappeared into a small neighborhood, they may not need a search warrant to search any of the homes there
because the suspect is putting the residents at risk. (Illegal Search amp; Seizure, 2012) Also, the officer needed to check
the suspect s handbag for a license to determine the identity of the suspect. Upon opening the handbag, there was the
baggie of marijuana in plain view. So, once again, the plain view doctrine comes into play. REFERENCES Pearson

Why Is Anne Frank Important
In the story of Anne Frank, Anne and her family go into hiding to get away from the Nazis and stay safe. After Anne and
her family gets caught they had a hard journey. The historical events in Anne Frank impact the story in plenty of
different ways, for instance, they impact the mood and actions of the people in hiding. The first thing that will be talked
about is the mood of the story. The mood changes a lot throughout the story. A historical event that proves this is It s the
silence in the nights that frightens me the most. Everytime I hear a creak in the house, or a step on the street outside, I m
sure they re coming for us. This event impacts the drama by making the people scared for their lives not to get caught.
The direct quote For the first time Anne realizes what going into hiding means. This supports the thesis because now

Argumentative Essay On Bhagavad Gita
In the Hinduism Hit The Bhagavad Gita , Buddha Weighs Questions of The Truth
Could killing but not being emotionally attached solve a conflict? In The Bhagavad Gita, Krishna encourages Arjuna to
kill and not be attached. He says, If you are killed, you win heaven; if you triumph, you enjoy the earth; therefore,
Arjuna, stand up and resolved to fight the battle. The path of my own teachings has three important instructions: moral
precepts, no killing; mental concentration, breath control meditation; and wisdom, the knowledge of knowing there is no
self. Instead of killing, we need to be merciful and kind to others. No man who does not love himself could love others.
Every creature has a life so we need to appreciate and respect them instead of killing them.
For more than 100 pages, Krishna mainly talks about three types of yoga in The Bhagavad Gita: jnana (knowledge)
yoga, karma (action) yoga, and devotion yoga.
The soul can never be destroyed or changed. Krishna mentions that the soul and body mind are different. The body dies
and is reborn. The soul remains. I also believe in the universal soul (purusha). My values, however, are slightly different.
I realize that there are three types of suffering: dukkha dukkha, viparinama dukkha, and samkhara dukkha. Dukkha
dukkhua means obvious physical or mental pain. Viparinama dukkha means losing something that is valuable to you.
Suffering can also be translated to satisfactoriness, instability, and uncertainty.

The Supreme Being or God is brought about by Hindus as having different angles. Hindus view Brahman in three titles:

Effects Of Overpopulation On The Environment
Overpopulation s Effect on the Environment
Elijah Rodriguez
University of Texas at El Paso Introduction Every single decade, the population grows at an exponential rate. As of
today there are approximately seven billion people on this earth. Every time four babies are born at least two people die.
(SciShow, 2012). At this rate, there will be approximately 9 billion people populating the earth by the year 2050
(Hoffman, 2012). However, Earth can only be home to so many people before it reaches its limit. With the population
growing at such a fast pace, the environment will not be able to keep up with the population. The rapid population
growth will cause natural resources to become extremely scarce. In other words, the more people there are, the less
resources there is and there will also be fewer animal species. This issue is being addressed by two genres that talk about
how the environment will pay the price in the future due to human overpopulation. In Piper Hoffman s article, Human
Overpopulation Threatens Our Survival, says how the rising numbers have caused climate change, rising sea levels,
expanding deserts, and even wildlife extinction. In the YouTube video, The Science of Overpopulation, the issue of
overpopulation is also explained, as well as how the population has increased in the past decades. Both of these genres
will be analyzed by their structure and delivery, audience and purpose, and rhetorical Issues.

Animal Testing Should Not Be Banned Essay
An animal is taken, injected with all kinds substances, then killed from the tests ran by researchers. Meanwhile, an old
woman is laying on her death bed waiting for the same researchers to find a cure but dies before researchers can
succeed. Which scenario do you think is worse? This is a difficult question and may not have an answer. Animal testing
has been around for centuries starting with early Greek physicians around 384 BC. These Greek physicians included
Aristotle, Erasistratus, and Galen, who all created huge contributions to medical history. Throughout history animal
testing has helped to cure many diseases including polio, diabetes, smallpox, and many more. These cures have helped
save thousands of lives and would not have been possible without the help of animals. However, these contributions did
not occur without the cost of hurting animals in the process. There have been some laws, like the federal food, drug, and
cosmetic act, that requires safety testing of drugs on animals before they can be sold. Both animal lives and human lives
are affected by animal testing in many ways, making this topic very important. 100 million animals die each year due to
animal testing but there are also many diseases that haven t been cured, making animal testing necessary. Animal testing
has both saved lives and taken them away. Us humans have to decide how many animal lives are worth the knowledge
gained. In this paper I will address and analyze two alternate perspectives,

The United States The Home Appliance Industry
In the United States the home appliance industry is a mature market with high penetration, therefore, replacement
product is significantly important to the industry. The United States has three major manufacturers for domestic
production: Whirlpool, General Electric, and Electrolux. The appliance industry is changing rapidly and becoming more
competitive with the influence of Asian competitors, specifically, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics, who are
major appliance importers. Subsequently, in January 2016, a Chinese manufacturer, Haier, bid for the purchase of
General Electric Appliances, finalizing the contract on June 6, 2016 (Thompson, 2016).
Whirlpool Corporation is the largest global manufacturer of home appliances (Innovation at the Pace of Life, 2016).
Although, Whirlpool is globally the largest manufacturer, they do not dominate all markets as they do in North America.
In North America, Whirlpool s strength lies in a strong and vast brand portfolio, consisting of seven brands (Fettig,

All Members Of Congress And Fellow Americans
To all my members of Congress and fellow Americans:
Today I will be addressing some of the issues that are happening in today s society and set a plan as to how we as
Americans have to come together for the better and make a change. This country has grown tremendously in many areas
since we ve experienced our last financial crisis. During our time of crisis there were many doubters who said that we
could not make America great again and stating that we Americans were misguided. I believe that we have proved them
wrong with the growth of the economy and deficits being cut by two thirds. This economy has touched so many lives
through the rise of wages and growing job opportunities. The goal here now is to aim at working on common concerns
such as the criminal justice reform, finding a cure and having more studies for those battling incurable illnesses, and
protecting our rights as American citizens. As your president of the United States of America, I believe in giving
everyone a fair chance as well as a second chance. With that being said, I believe there s a need to reduce the mandatory
minimum for non violent offenders that are in the prison system. There should be no reason that a convicted sex offender
should be released to society within a minimum of 5 years and the drug offenders must serve a minimum of 10 years or
more depending on the level of the offense. These adjustments should not only be applied to the state mandatory

Hofstede s Cultural Traits And Its Impacts On Leadership
Another study from Oke (2013) revealed some similar verdicts on the Nigerian managers. This study was for the
construction professionals, and it indicated that most of the Nigerian managers use the autocratic leadership style. At the
same time, there is a strong sense of result oriented approach among these managers as they concern primarily with the
task at hand; and do not tend to cater for the long term development of those under their command (Oke, 2013). The
author further commented that democratic and participative leaderships had not been observed amongst the Nigerian
managers.
Regarding Chinese managers also tend to be autocratic when they fulfill their leadership responsibilities (Sharkey and
Murray, 2015). Chinese people are known for their respect for the authority, and it is often in the Chinese culture that a
follower should not directly express their thoughts but to follow instructions (Ma and Tsui, 2015). Another trait of the
Chinese leaders is the tendency to think carefully before making a decision as they would like to make sure such would
lead to long term benefits whilst the decision is to be deemed appropriate by others (Ma and Tsui, 2015).
In order to better understand the underlying factors contributing to cultural specific leadership styles and to therefore
discuss the cross cultural management/leadership issues this essay will now refer to Hofstede s cultural dimension
model.

By looking at the pictures in each of these books it is easy to see that the authors adapt the colors to help convey the
storyline. In The Runaway Bunny the colors are very lively and rich in their tones. These types of colors help with the
adventurous and exciting storyline. There are not many dark colors in this story which I also think is saying that this is
not supposed to be a scary adventure story. In The Dream Book, the colors are very dark and bold. There are many dark
night skies and I think that this helps to convey a story of dreams and bedtime. Children hear this story and feel relaxed
and ready to close their eyes after a long day of fun.

Leading Change by John P. Kotter
Leading Change by John P. Kotter Book review by Pat Naughtin Harvard Professor John P. Kotter has been observing
the process of change for 30 years. He believes that there are critical differences between change efforts that have been
successful, and change efforts that have failed. What interests him is why some people are able to get their organizations
to change dramatically while most do not. John P. Kotter writes: Over the past decade, I have watched more than a
hundred companies try to remake themselves into significantly better competitors. They have included large
organizations (Ford) and small ones (Landmark Communications), companies based in United States (General Motors)
and elsewhere (British Airways), corporations that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plan for visible performance improvements. Create those improvements. Recognise and reward employees involved in
the improvements. Under communicating the vision. Transformation is impossible unless hundreds or thousands of
people are willing to help, often to the point of making short term sacrifices. Not removing obstacles to the new vision.
Obstacles can be: the organizational structure, narrowly defined job categories, compensation or performance appraisal
systems, and, worst of all, bosses who refuse to change and make demands that are inconsistent with the overall change
vision. Not systematically planning and creating short term wins. Planning and creating short term wins is different from
hoping for short term wins. The former is active, the latter passive. Actively look for ways to obtain clear performance
improvements, establish goals in the yearly planning system, achieve the objectives, and reward the people involved
with recognition, promotions, or money. Declaring victory too soon. Instead of declaring victory, leaders of successful
change efforts use the credibility afforded by the short term wins to tackle even bigger problems. 2 7 Consolidate
improvements and producing still more change. Use increased credibility to change systems, structures, and policies that
don t fit the vision. Hire, promote, and develop employees who can implement the vision. Reinvigorate the process with
new projects, themes, and

Tone Of The Prelude
The Prelude: William Wordsworth s The Prelude, written in blank verse is an autobiographical poem written from 1798
to 1799. Throughout the excerpt the speaker has changing responses to his experience and conveys his responses with
varying diction, imagery, and tone style. There are three changes in the speaker s response to his surroundings, which
portray his changing emotion throughout the piece. The transitions occur on lines 11, 24, and 34. Tones of adventure,
decisiveness, obstruction, and darkness are used throughout the work. The speaker changes his tone during the transition
from the first to second section. He starts in the first with an awe filled and adventurous tone. He then transitions to a
tone of pride and decisiveness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker s tone goes from nervous and scared to dim and dark. The man has had to turn around and go back because
of his fear for the humongous mountain that seemed to be encroaching upon his every move. The word choice of and
through the meadows homeward went, in grave and serious mood; shows how he left his boat with a feeling of sadness,
but had not yet been robbed of his joy. But, in the next section his starting word choice of but after I had seen that
spectacle, for many days, my brain worked with a dim and undetermined sense of unknown modes of being shows that
he doesn t even know how to feel anymore in light of recent events. This marks the change in him from sadness to dim
apathy. His imagery of there hung a darkness and no familiar shapes remained parallels the complete emptiness he feels
in his soul. The speaker once again refers back to the environment when he uses no pleasant images of trees , of sea and
sky , and no colours of green fields . He uses this environmental imagery to show that his life is now devoid of all color.
He closes this excerpt with like living men, moved slowly through the mind by day, and were a trouble to my

  • 2. Nuclear Families Research Paper In society, there are many nuclear families that have different ways of raising their children due to social classes that remain present. Nuclear families consist of a pair of adults and their children. Due to the different social classes parents take into account different childrearing methods, cultural logic, and religion affiliation. When raising their children families in a higher Asantie Yeboah 5 class, take care of their children through concerted cultivation. They put their children in numerous activities such as club teams which control a family s life, particularly for the mothers. The reason behind this is because parents believe these activities are important skills to learn for their children. Families also in a higher class talk to their children to discipline them. Parents in the working class and poor class apply natural growth. Many parents of the working class provide love, food, and safety anticipating their children will advance and succeed. They do not focus on developing their children s special talents. For this reason, working class children have more free time and better relationships with their extended families. Working class and poor also use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Beach Dinner Research Paper Daytona Beach Dinner Time! On the very hot and humid day of June 20th, I was at my condo on Daytona Beach. The waves were crashing onto the shore, leaving thousands of seashells behind. When a cool breeze from the south blew, it shook the palm trees, in which my hammock was hung. I was planning a summer party and getting the decorations ready in my condo, and I heard a huge thud outside. I ran to my door and opened it, and there was Albert Einstein on the ground. Around him in a circle, stood George Washington, Ben Franklin, and Justin Bieber. They looked worried, so I ran over to see what happened. Albert was lying unresponsive in the sand. I asked, What in the world happened here? Do you guys want to come in and let Einstein rest? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I put a fold up table with a table cloth in the sand near the water. I brought water, pop, and orange juice to the table. Ben Franklin helped me make the steak and potatoes and George helped with the pizza. Once the food was done, we went out to the table. I got to seat them, so I put George and Ben beside each other, with Justin on the other side of the table. I sat beside George, because I wanted to learn more about him and being the first president. I asked George Washington, So, what battles have you fought in? He answered very slowly, Well I have fought in many, but The Battle of Trenton, was very bad. It was the morning of December 26th, 1776 in Trenton, New Jersey. The night before, we marched across the Delaware River and the next day we started fighting. Long story short, it was an American ... • 4. The Failure Of A Psychodynamic Relationship The problem with cross sex friendships is the failure to meet and keep up a platonic relationship. These relationships start out in the levels of friendships from acquaintances to personal or intellectual, ultimately evolving into intimate and, or emotional. The triangular theory of love is then tested by a matter of combinations of the three following components intimacy, passion and commitment. • 5. The Last Judgement Tympanum At St-Lazare Analysis The Last Judgment tympanum at Saint Lazare is also incredibly significant due to the fact that no other tympanum from the Romanesque is so boldly and recognizably claimed by the artist. In the middle of the composition is the phrase Gislebertus hoc fecit , which roughly translates to Gislebertus made this and serves as the alleged artist s signature. As mentioned previously, few of the large stoneworks from this era can be directly linked to a specific person. The signature left behind at Saint Lazare can be easily interpreted as a big display of artistic confidence, a quality more frequently seen from master artists of the Renaissance and onward. During this period, Romanesque sculptures attached to architecture were relegated in status to secondary importance to stonemasons, and the tympanums were seen as very separate objects. By placing his signature here, Gislebertus claims the piece as his own work and firmly establishes himself as an artist rather than simply a sculptor. There are historians who question whether the signature left behind is actually indicative of patronage rather than the artist responsible for it; a patron placing themselves within a piece ... • 6. Persuasive Essay On Fast Food As time has passed, Americans have become downright lazy and inconsiderate when it comes to preparing their meals. They substitute fresh, nutritional, balanced meals for a big mac on their way to work. Since Americans have become so lazy, the emphasis is on quick service rather than the quality of the food. Open 24/7! It takes two hands to hold a whopper! There s fast food, then there s KFC! Your way, right away! As Americans continue to fill their bodies with fatty, processed, fake food, people around the world starve, and their access to clean drinking water is limited. So how is America to help? Now, when I state this, know it is not for my own gain. I am not starving, malnourished, nor am I grossly obese. This is simply a gain for the world, so that we may help those in need. In order for fast food chains to shut down, we would need to get rid of the obese people. How do we do this in a civil manner? Feed them to the malnourished. Now I know what you re thinking what is considered obese? Some people work out excessively, and a healthy 400 pound male that can lift that weight has a higher BMI because of the muscle. I mean to say the large ones, made entirely out of excess fat, the meat ready to slide off their bones the way it slides off of Colonel Sander s chicken. By feeding these overweight people to the malnourished, we not only will solve world hunger, but this will solve overpopulation. People over the BMI of 30 + will be put to death, and for a reasonable, redeeming cause. Those who are 18 will receive the meat of the generous donors. Those in the healthy range will continue to eat the way they do, while being monitored by a doctor, of course, so we can watch their eligibility for being overweight. Those who are overweight put on a watch list. The lower the BMI on the overweight side, the less you are to be harassed by the government. If you re teeter tottering on the obese line, you are put in a hospital, so that as soon as you can be put to slaughter, it s done. Not only will this solve world hunger and overpopulation, but America won t need volunteers to go over to these underdeveloped, third world countries, which will spare our time and supplies. In many ways, Italy had benefits over northern Europe in detaching from the feudal system and accumulating enormous amounts of wealth. I think that above all else, geography was Italy s anchor in this respect. Being a projecting land mass sticking out into the Mediterranean Sea, and beneficially located between the main part of Europe and the Byzantine Empire, cities within Italy had little choice but to weave endeavors of commerce into every day life while engaging in the market and foreign trade. Furthermore, had it not been for the establishment of a connection between the Medici and the Papacy, Florence and Rome, it seems, may have actually been rivals grown under the essence of partnership and collaboration during the Renaissance. Rome supplied many Florentine artists with a harbor, and, in turn, Florence took advantage of the administration of the papal funds. 2. Good, bad or indifferent there will always be these questions that will need to be answered; were the police legally justified in the way they approached and carried out their encounter with the suspect? She was rendered unconscious and the impact from the accident caused the glove compartment to pop open , thus revealing the weapon. Once that happened the weapon was in plain sight and legally obtained. 5. Will the marijuana baggie be admissible evidence? The baggie of marijuana will be admissible in evidence in court because this was an emergency police situation and it fell into plain view of the officer. Plus, because the suspect was unconscious due to her own folly, there was no expectation of privacy and a search warrant was not needed. If the police s search is in an emergency situation, then they may not need a search warrant. For example, if the police are pursuing an armed suspect that has disappeared into a small neighborhood, they may not need a search warrant to search any of the homes there because the suspect is putting the residents at risk. (Illegal Search amp; Seizure, 2012) Also, the officer needed to check the suspect s handbag for a license to determine the identity of the suspect. Upon opening the handbag, there was the baggie of marijuana in plain view. So, once again, the plain view doctrine comes into play. In The Bhagavad Gita, Krishna encourages Arjuna to kill and not be attached. He says, If you are killed, you win heaven; if you triumph, you enjoy the earth; therefore, Arjuna, stand up and resolved to fight the battle. The path of my own teachings has three important instructions: moral precepts, no killing; mental concentration, breath control meditation; and wisdom, the knowledge of knowing there is no self. Instead of killing, we need to be merciful and kind to others. No man who does not love himself could love others. Every creature has a life so we need to appreciate and respect them instead of killing them. For more than 100 pages, Krishna mainly talks about three types of yoga in The Bhagavad Gita: jnana (knowledge) yoga, karma (action) yoga, and devotion yoga. The soul can never be destroyed or changed. Krishna mentions that the soul and body mind are different. The body dies and is reborn. The soul remains. I also believe in the universal soul (purusha). My values, however, are slightly different. I realize that there are three types of suffering: dukkha dukkha, viparinama dukkha, and samkhara dukkha. Effects Of Overpopulation On The Environment Overpopulation s Effect on the Environment Elijah Rodriguez University of Texas at El Paso Introduction Every single decade, the population grows at an exponential rate. As of today there are approximately seven billion people on this earth. Every time four babies are born at least two people die. (SciShow, 2012). At this rate, there will be approximately 9 billion people populating the earth by the year 2050 (Hoffman, 2012). However, Earth can only be home to so many people before it reaches its limit. With the population growing at such a fast pace, the environment will not be able to keep up with the population. The rapid population growth will cause natural resources to become extremely scarce. In other words, the more people there are, the less resources there is and there will also be fewer animal species. This issue is being addressed by two genres that talk about how the environment will pay the price in the future due to human overpopulation. In Piper Hoffman s article, Human Overpopulation Threatens Our Survival, says how the rising numbers have caused climate change, rising sea levels, expanding deserts, and even wildlife extinction. In the YouTube video, The Science of Overpopulation, the issue of overpopulation is also explained, as well as how the population has increased in the past decades. Meanwhile, an old woman is laying on her death bed waiting for the same researchers to find a cure but dies before researchers can succeed. Which scenario do you think is worse? This is a difficult question and may not have an answer. Animal testing has been around for centuries starting with early Greek physicians around 384 BC. These Greek physicians included Aristotle, Erasistratus, and Galen, who all created huge contributions to medical history. Throughout history animal testing has helped to cure many diseases including polio, diabetes, smallpox, and many more. These cures have helped save thousands of lives and would not have been possible without the help of animals. However, these contributions did not occur without the cost of hurting animals in the process. There have been some laws, like the federal food, drug, and cosmetic act, that requires safety testing of drugs on animals before they can be sold. Both animal lives and human lives are affected by animal testing in many ways, making this topic very important. 100 million animals die each year due to animal testing but there are also many diseases that haven t been cured, making animal testing necessary. This country has grown tremendously in many areas since we ve experienced our last financial crisis. During our time of crisis there were many doubters who said that we could not make America great again and stating that we Americans were misguided. I believe that we have proved them wrong with the growth of the economy and deficits being cut by two thirds. This economy has touched so many lives through the rise of wages and growing job opportunities. The goal here now is to aim at working on common concerns such as the criminal justice reform, finding a cure and having more studies for those battling incurable illnesses, and protecting our rights as American citizens. As your president of the United States of America, I believe in giving everyone a fair chance as well as a second chance. With that being said, I believe there s a need to reduce the mandatory minimum for non violent offenders that are in the prison system. There should be no reason that a convicted sex offender should be released to society within a minimum of 5 years and the drug offenders must serve a minimum of 10 years or more depending on the level of the offense. This study was for the construction professionals, and it indicated that most of the Nigerian managers use the autocratic leadership style. At the same time, there is a strong sense of result oriented approach among these managers as they concern primarily with the task at hand; and do not tend to cater for the long term development of those under their command (Oke, 2013). The author further commented that democratic and participative leaderships had not been observed amongst the Nigerian managers. Regarding Chinese managers also tend to be autocratic when they fulfill their leadership responsibilities (Sharkey and Murray, 2015). Chinese people are known for their respect for the authority, and it is often in the Chinese culture that a follower should not directly express their thoughts but to follow instructions (Ma and Tsui, 2015). Another trait of the Chinese leaders is the tendency to think carefully before making a decision as they would like to make sure such would lead to long term benefits whilst the decision is to be deemed appropriate by others (Ma and Tsui, 2015).
