Confidentiality: Confidentiality is the capability to hide information from those people illegal to view
it. It is maybe the most noticeable feature of the CIA triad when it comes to security; but in the same
way, it is also the one which is attacked most frequently. Cryptography and Encryption techniques are
an example of an attempt to make sure confidentiality of data transferred from one computer to second
computer.
Integrity: The integrity defines to make sure that data is correct and unchanged demonstration of the
unique secure information. One kind of security attack is to intercept a few important data and make
alterations to it before sending it on to the proposed receiver.
Availability: It is significant to make sure that the information concerned is readily available to the
certified viewer at all times. Some kinds of security attack challenge to reject access to the suitable
user, either for the sake of troubling them, or because there is various secondary effect (Perrin, 2008).
For example, by breaking the web site for a specific search engine, a rival may turn into more popular.

Crypto Wars Case
Case Synopsis
The Crypto Wars is the name for the U.S. government s attempts to limit the public s and foreign
nations access to cryptography strong enough to resist decryption by national intelligence agencies.1
U. S. Government law enforcement officials want tech companies to give them a backdoor into
encrypted cellphones and other devices. Tech companies object to it. There have been bills drafted in
Congress on this issue. Apparently, I will object to a bill to require tech companies to provide a
backdoor because it infringes the privacy rights of smartphone users. This is the ethical challenge
about privacy behind the Crypto Wars. However, this is a Right vs. Right issue since under specific
circumstances, such as kidnapping and terrorism, it is necessary to have the access of a backdoor into
encrypted mobile devices. This issue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Government Law Enforcement Officials Claim
In October 2014, FBI Director James Comey is asking Congress to force cellphone developers into
building backdoors into all devices for law enforcement surveillance as the response to new customer
data encryption standards adopted by Apple and Google.3 U.S. government law enforcement officials
argued that the new encryption standards of Apple and Google would make it easier for bad guys to
evade arrest since it is hard for the police to track data under unused encryption. Comey asked
Congress to update the 1994 Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, which mandates
telephone companies wiretapping digital and Internet communications.
This year on June 1st, two lawmakers are urging Comey to drop his pursuit of decrypting smartphone
communications since it is impossible without weakening device security.4 At present, the bureau has
not drafted legislation to address this issue yet. These sources for the facts of this case are very reliable

Scott Michael Sander Under The Influence
Under the influence: Paying the price of my father s booze is an essay that was written by the author
Scott Russell Sanders. He expressed his grievous feeling towards his father s drinking habit and used
both comparison and allegories to explain how serious his father s alcoholism was and the negative
effects he had during his childhood. Sander described his father as a demon after he had a drink which
shows the horror that can be caused if a family has an alcoholic father. For instance, in the passage,
Sander says I use the past tense not because he ever quit drinking but because he quit living that
implies how his father s alcoholism behavior ruined his life while he was in his childhood.
Furthermore, there were a lot of disappointments going on in his family due to his father s serious
alcoholism. This is well evident when Sander articulates that He became a stranger, as fearful to us as
any graveyard lunatic, not quite frothing at the mouth but fierce enough, quick tempered, explosive;
who would ease his pain? Not mother, who fussed and pleaded but could not budge him; not my
brother and sister, who were only kids . This clearly reveals the disappointments they had towards
their father s addiction in drinking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sander himself becomes a workaholic for he can no more save himself through work than he could
save his father. He uses the contradiction between him and his father to show the two totally different
worlds that he lived in. For now, I could not feel how hard he tried to forget the pain of not saving his
father from drinking addiction, but I could feel how he tried his utmost best to be a role model for his

An Enquiry Concerning The Principles Of Morals Essay
What is a moral? This is a question that has plagued philosophers for many years. Is it possible to
have a set of universal morals? There are many questions that surround the mystery of morals. They
seem to drive our every action. We base our decisions on what is right and what is wrong. But what is
it that actually determines what is right and what is wrong? Is it our sense of reason? Is it our sense of
sentiment? This is a question that David Hume spent much of his life pondering. What exactly is it
that drives our actions? Yes, morals drive them, but what determines what our morals are? What is it
that ultimately drives our actions; our feelings or our minds?

a truth. To make an analogy to mathematics, truth is a function of reason, whereas taste is a function of
sentiment. Sentiment is a function of the individual whereas reason is a function of the universe.
The universe as a whole must follow reason, but the catch is that each individual s universe is slightly
different in that each individual perceives his or her universe differently. quot; What each man feels
within himself is the standard of sentiment. quot; (p.14) That is to say each person s individual
universe has truths. These truths are based on reason. These truths/reasons are what help to determine
the person s sentiment. However, it should be noted that because the reasons are NOT necessarily the
person s sentiments, they do not motivate actions. One other reason why reason does not impel action
is because reason is based on truths. Truths are never changing whereas sentiments are dynamic and
are in a constant change of flux. At one moment, the criminal could feel sympathy for his victims and
decide to spare a life, and the very next, the same criminal could become enraged at the pimple on a
hostage s forehead and shoot him.
Of course these are extreme cases, but the point is clear. Reason would dictate that only the first action
would be moral. If reason drove actions, then moral behavior would prevail and there would be no
immoral actions and hence there would be no crimes.

rule. Nationalism is further formed towards maintaining and developing a Sovereignty based on
shared features such as religion, language, race, culture, or either political goals or a belief in a

Why Is Robert Lowell Confessional Poetry
Robert Lowell is a brilliant writer and poet. He is one of the geniuses of his time. Paul N. Calvert said,
The period in which Robert Lowell wrote has been called The Age of Lowell, a testament to his
genius as a poet, and this poet was truly a genius. Lowell was born on March 1, 1917 and died on
September 12, 1977. Throughout his lifetime, Lowell wrote many poems and even a few books, but he
is mostly famous for his works of poetry and the movement in which he utilized. Lowell is famous for
complying with the form of Confessional Poetry, a literary term which will later be defined. Some
poems demonstrate this movement more than other poems, but most, if not all, of Lowell s poems
contain the ideas of Confessional Poetry. These poems often ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, this poem is one of the most prominent. Temple Cone simply stated that Skunk Hour is an
important example of confessional poetry and this is a true statement. This poem also has aspects of
Lowell s life; more specifically, aspects of Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). The man in the
poem is described as ill and this depicts Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). Another clue that
points out that this is a Confessional Poem, is found in lines one through three: Nautilus Island s
hermit / heiress still through winter in her Spartan Cottage; / her sheep still graze above the sea,
(Lowell). These lines actually depict where Lowell, a man who comes from a very old, upper class
American family, spent several summers: Castine, Maine. The setting of this poem alone tells the
reader that this is confessional poetry. The poem is set up in a place Lowell is very familiar with; this
is partly why this poem is considered Confessional. In the poem, the narrator seems to be struggling in
life and is almost depressed and then this skunk appears. The skunk in the poem provides a
counterforce to the devastating effects of the world at large, and it distracts the speaker from his
depression and therefore turn his focus to survival rather than thriving (Cone). This counterforce or
skunk can be seen in the last two stanzas of the poem. Lowell describes the illness or depression that
the speaker is

Medical And Psychological Treatment Of Mental Health
There is a severe lack of understanding about mental health throughout many communities throughout
the country. Because of this, many people do not accept the fact that mental illness is a genuine
struggle that many people face on a daily basis and, as a result, most do not understand how
widespread it is, particularly for adolescents. According to recent research, 10 15% of teenagers have
experienced some symptoms of depression, roughly 20% percent of teens will experience depression
before they reach adulthood, and adolescents who suffer from depression are twelve times more likely
to attempt suicide. . One health behavior thatis extremely important is receiving medical and
psychological treatment for mental illness. However, because mental health is still a taboo issue within
many communities, there are many risk and protective factors that need to be taken into consideration.
Evaluating these using the five levels of the social ecological model individual, interpersonal,
organizational, community, and public policy explains how individuals are affected by themselves,
their relationships, their community, and their society as a whole. The first level of this model is the
individual. One of the largest risk factors of individuals seeking treatment for mental illness is the
difficulty of self identification. Adolescents are surrounded by a variety of pressures, so oftentimes the
individual is unable to detect that he/she is struggling from mental illness. If the individual

A Feather Dipped in Gold in Movie Miracle
A Feather Dipped In Gold
On February 22, 1980, the United States men s national hockey team beat the Soviet Union National
team at the Winter Olympics taking place at Lake Placid, New York. To this day, that upset is
considered by many to be the greatest moment in sports history. It was such an awe inspiring moment,
that it earned the nickname, The Miracle On Ice . As such, it should be no surprise that a movie
portraying that miracle was made. The movie, aptly called Miracle, chronicles the assembly of the
team as seen fit by Coach Herb Brooks, and the trials and glory of the young team. It really is a one of
the great underdog stories, a story about coming together and reaching for the stars or gold in this
case. The movie is also a great depiction of relationships. From initiating to maintaining them, this
movie covers it. In this essay, I will detail three different types of relationships that were presented in
Miracle.
The friendship between the guys on Team U.S.A. took a while to cultivate. The players were fresh out
of college which meant most of them had either played together or against each other. What should
have been forgotten collegiate rivalries were not. The poster boys for the continued hostilities were
Jack O Callahan of Boston College and Rob McClanahan of the University of Minnesota. Jack O
Callahan was still holding a grudge over a Championship game in college that had been played against
Rob McClanahan s team. That led to a somewhat

Comparing Kent State And The Living Room War
The Shooting of Kent State and The Living Room War The shooting of Kent State University on May
4, 1970 marked a point in the war that divided the nation and brought attention to the war on a scale
never seen before. Fighting on the battleground was brought to America s soil through the power of
television and as the battle continued, emotions on the homefront intensified. The executive decision
of President Richard Nixon initiated the protests and swung the opinion of the use of military force in
Vietnam by his April 30 announcement that he had sent American forces into Cambodia (Reichard).
President Nixon s decision of sending forces into Cambodia sparked the protests on many campuses,
one of them being Kent State, leading to the shooting and killing of four students, however only two
of the students shot and killed were involved in the protests. The killing... was another important

How Does It Works And How It Is Used
Elastography: How it works and how it is used.
Abstract
A very useful and common practice often used in routine physical exams is palpation. This technique,
among its several uses, allows to estimate changes in the mechanical properties of tissue when the
presence of a diseases is suspected. A typical use of this technique is in the breast cancer examination:
the cancer is often revealed as a stiffening of glandular tissue, which would be normally soft. Even
though palpation remains an important tool for clinicians, its limited use only to accessible tissue, its
limited disease detectability and spatial discrimination, and the subjectiveness of its interpretation,
motivates the need to improve the mechanical properties detection of ... Show more content on

Artificial tissues and organs have been developed both to replicate the function of the original organ
and to reproduce its mechanical properties under physiologic conditions, in order to improve the
chance for the patient to return to normal activities.
Several mechanical tests have to be applied for measuring static and dynamic properties of materials
and most of them involve applying a force to the material and measuring its displacement. Through
these tests, measuring the stress applied and the resulting strain, it is possible to calculate material
properties such as the Young modulus, the physical parameter corresponding to the material stiffness.
The results of these experiments will depend on many mechanical properties of the material and it is
often very common, in order to simplify the mathematical relationships between stresses and strains
and improve the interpretation of the responses, to make several assumptions about the material
characteristics: The material is assumed to be infinite: this means that boundary conditions and effects
can be ignored; The material is assumed to be homogeneous: within the area where the test is
performed we can consider only a smaller set of parameters ignoring changes of mechanical properties
in space; The material is linearly viscoelastic: the relationship between the applied

Henry Fleming Characteristics
Split by different cultures that stemmed from the Union and Confederacy, the United States was
forced to resolve such issues with a Civil War. The nineteenth century US Civil War was a battle for
power and slave rights. Favoring a stronger federal government, the Union disagreed with the
Confederacy s view on slave rights and economical style. Seeing as their economy and infrastructure
was heavily based on agriculture, the Confederacy would take the most impact from an abolishment of
slavery and stronger federal government. These two issues alone led to the most deadliest US war to
date. Often identified as the young soldier , Henry Fleming enlists into the army with a very
romanticized view of the battlefield. Within the first three days of battle, Henry s characterization of a
courageous and brave soldier changes dramatically. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When faced with adversities early into his first battle, he quickly reconsidered his views on war and

for mistakenly thinking the battle was over and abandoning his fellow soldiers. While away from the

Explain Three Affirmative Origins Of The American Revolution
There are three affirmative origins of the American Revolution between 1760 and 1776 that affected

the stamp act of 1765 by King George III. Finally, in 1770 the horrendous murder of colonist was
known as the Boston massacre. Parliament issued the proclamation of 1763 also known as the
proclamation line. This infuriated the colonist by restricting land movement from going west of the
Appalachian Mountains. It also created conflict with the colonist that had to give up their hoes and
farmland to move east. This restriction only allowed licensed traders to travel west and make deals
with the Indians. In 1765 King George III issued the stamp act.

Christian Meditation On God And Spending Time Essay
Every now I then I receive a letter from a subscriber on the best way to incorporate Christian
meditation into their daily devotion time with God. Including Christian meditation, into your daily
schedule can make your life so much more rewarding and fulfilling. There are numerous benefits to
meditating on God and spending time in His presence. These include developing a more intimate
relationship with Christ, eliminating worry and stress, creating a space for God to speak to our hearts,
and becoming more sensitive to the Holy Spirit to name a few.
I have tried many, many different schedules for my Morning Devotion over the years, but the one I am
about to share with you has been the best one for me. By Morning Devotion I mean the time I take
each morning before I leave for the job or work on my business. The days that I skip these activities
are usually marked with anxiety and frustration. I have reasoned that if I m too busy for God and
myself, then I m just too busy and that busyness and chaos usually ends up being a theme throughout
my entire day.
God created us spirit, soul, and body and He doesn t want us to neglect any of these areas. We neglect
our bodies when we eat poorly and don t exercise. We neglect our mind or soul when we feed it with
mental junk food instead of uplifting literature or spiritual delights, and we neglect our spirit when we
don t spend time with God being restored, renewed, and renovated. So instead of thinking just,

Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are taking over our era, with new innovations using
the technology being released everyday. Both have had a sizable play in companies performances, and
have shaped and developed society from the beginning of their release. AR and VR technology take
aspects of the real world and apply it to technology in a three dimensional form, just in different ways.
Despite common misconceptions, these two ideas are not the same. VR is all screen generated work,
only including technological elements in its world that may resemble real life items. AR, on the other
hand, applies these elements to real life items, portraying an image onto an object you physically have
in front of you.
AR has had a specific impact on our society in general. From the Google Glass to the Hololens, it s no
surprise that companies like Google (GOOGL) and Microsoft (MSFT) are doing so well. But what if
we can use this technology for more? What if this technology could teach? What if it could save lives?
This is exactly what Volkswagen (VOW.DE on XETRA) has decided to explore.
Volkswagen is an car manufacturer that sells mainly in Europe, North America, South America, and
the Asia Pacific. It is composed of four sectors: Passenger Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Power
Engineering, and Financial Services, of which help them manufacture, develop, and sell their
products. The company s productions are sold on many platforms including Volkswagen Passenger
Cars, Audi, ŠKODA,

The Joy Luck Club Socratic Seminar Questions
The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan, exposes the paradoxical relationships between Chinese immigrant
mothers and their American raised daughters. Although both sides experience their own strife in life,
the mothers are probably most notable for their struggle in assimilating to society. Given that they are
the first generations to have contact with the unfamiliar culture, they must set foot onto the foreign
land and sustain a stable life in order to provide for her children and give them a prosperous life. The
mothers are required to adapt to the language, environment, social roles, and etc. Flexibility and
adaptability varies from person to person. Before the novel begins, Tan introduces the story with a
brief prologue about a Shanghai women and her swan. Her prior expectations before coming to
America was crushed entirely by the reality she later encounters. The woman sworn to give her
American raised daughter the swan feather and tell her [the story] in perfect American English (pg. 3)
one day. This is an example of culture shock which is common for many people who move to another
country. Culture shock , as the Oxford Dictionary defines it, is a disorientation experienced when [one
is] suddenly subjected to an unfamiliar culture. My experience as an American raised Chinese is
somewhat similar to the novel. I lacked an English background, but I did not experience much

The Santa Monica Human Services Division
Though economic inequality and homelessness are major challenges for the city, it does not wholly
define Santa Monica s culture. Overall, Santa Monica s politics are largely progressive and they
translate to the types of people and businesses who call the city home. One resident says Santa Monica
is what happens when hippies get rich (M. Rich, personal communication, May 10, 2017). Hence,
there are many benefits to living and working in this community. Primarily, the various government
departments and social agencies, which make up some of the fabric and networks of this community,
readily offer their services.
The Santa Monica Human Services Division (n.d.) provides support to key populations in the
community, namely children and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This population relies on the clinic for what the clinic calls integrative medical care (M. Lind,
personal communication, May 10, 2017). In addition, the Santa Monica non profit organization OPCC
(n.d.), offers a comprehensive system of care for the vulnerable and needy members of (the)
community homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, at risk youth, indigent Veterans, and
people dealing with severe physical or mental illness or substance abuse . The organization (which
also partners with the Venice Family Clinic) has multiple locations and offers assessments for all.
OPCC (n.d.) touts the success of its programs, reporting that the organization has placed 966 people
into permanent housing, 95% of whom remain housed. As far as the homeless population, Elizabeth
Anderson of the Human Services Division believes that Santa Monica does more than its fair share in
making shelter beds available year round , especially as compared to greater Los Angeles (personal
communication, April 27, 2017). Santa Monica s Police Department (n.d.) also has a homeless liaison
unit which partners on this issue.
Although Santa Monica works diligently to confront the issue of homelessness, it still remains a
challenge. Interestingly, a study discussing adults over the age of 50 and their entrance into
homelessness finds, ...nearly half of

Richard A Muller Nuclear Waste Summary
While reading Richard A. Muller Nuclear Waste a professor of physics from the University of
California. I really enjoyed the reading and learning how nuclear waste is one of the biggest technical
issues that any president is likely to face . In this chapter he also spoke of Plutonium which is a
transuranic radioactive chemical element with symbol Pu and atomic number 94. Richard also went on
to say that there is a safe nuclear waste disposal located in Yucca Mountain, Nevada. In order to keep
the waste disposal safe, it is buried in a storage room in which is 1000 feet below the surface. He
choose to write a section within this chapter entitled My Confessions and he did this because he finds
it hard to stand aside and present the physics

Analytical Essay s Influence On James Buchanan
When James Buchanan ran for president in 1856, his popular vote was 1,838,169 and his electoral
vote was 174. He was running against John C. Breckinridge and the votes were very close. President
Buchanan was the 15th President, and at the age of 65, some people even thought that he was too old
to run their country. Some people called him Old Buck, because of his age. President Buchanan was
not married, but his niece was his housekeeper and was his only close relative, so they named his
niece the First Lady. Her name was Harriet Buchanan.
James Buchanan was part of the democratic party and his salary was $25,000 yearly. He was the first
president to make an effort to abolish slavery. His immediate family never owned a slave but his uncle
did and James Buchanan always thought that it was wrong. He tried to destroy slavery but, the
congress wasn t willing to approve of his idea. James Buchanan s votes were affected because he
wanted to eliminate slavery and that is why the votes were so close. In the 12 states where slavery was
legal, not one person voted for the other candidate, and Buchanan took the majority of votes in those
states. (Burgan 52) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He wanted someone from New England, and he also wanted someone from the south, to let the
southerners know about new attacks on slavery. In February of 1857 the justices of the U.S. Supreme
Court were about to make a big decision involving slavery. Dred Scott and his wife brought their
owner to court seeking their freedom. They took their owner to a state that had banned slavery, to be
released from their owner. Scott and his wife ended up being the first couple to be sued for their
freedom in a Missouri court. When President Buchanan heard about the Dred Scott case he was very
mad and wrote to one of the southern justices demanding that slavery be terminated but the congress
still didn t agree with him (Burgan

The Dual Meaning Of The Closet
Henry Urbach uncovers the dual meaning of the closet as an architectural container and metaphoric
location to mask sexual identity. As an architectural container, the closet is a place where things are
stored. Putting away things that are not needed or wanted for display. The closet allows a room to look
cleaner and less clutter. Centuries ago closets were mainly wardrobes, how do closets from today s
society compare to closet wardrobes that were used years ago? Typically we say your clothes are in
the closet or the towels are in the closet but when people say, Jake has come out of the closet we don t
literally mean he walked out of a closet unit, but he or she has revealed their sexual identity. This
phrase is used because being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term coming out of the closet is from the 20th century. It is hard for the person to come out with
who they really are. Although the decision to come out is a personal one, disclosure has been
facilitated by a variety of institutions and social movements: The re appropriation of stigmatizing
labels, (finding words that are less pejorative to describe a stigmatized group) advocacy and support
groups (a second social phenomenon that facilitates disclosure is the advocacy and support groups
made up of people who are out) and outing (a third phenomenon related to disclosure is outing).
(Corrigan, P .2003) According to Rosario, Schrimshaw, Hunter, Braun (2006), the development of a
lesbian, gay, or bisexual (LGB) sexual identity is a complex and often difficult process. Unlike
members of other minority groups (e.g., ethnic and racial minorities), most LGB individuals are not
raised in a community of similar others from whom they learn about their identity and who reinforce
and support that identity. Rather, LGB individuals are often raised in communities that are either
ignorant of or openly hostile toward

Example Of Flexible Work Schedules
Flexible Work Schedule The beginning of work life started at the break of dawn. Most workers were
bound to their work for as long as daylight was available (Chung). During the Industrial Revolution
employees worked in factories on an assembly line(Chung). Workers clocked in at the same time, took
lunch at the same time, and clocked out at the same time (Chung). They worked as if they were part of
the machine (Chung). In modern times employee s work within office buildings similar to assembly
line workers they have a fixed schedule and work towards the ultimate goal of the organization
(Chung). In modern days corporations are considering the benefits of a flexible work schedule because
it can contribute to a successful work life balance by enriching families, improving an employee s
health and improving production. Modern technology such as cell phones, tablets, and computers
permits a more flexible work schedule because it allows employees to stay connected to the office
even if they are miles away (Chung).
Alternative work schedule are schedules does not fit the 8 hr day, 40 hr week definition (Baltes et al.
496). Some examples of common alternative work schedules include flexible working hours,
compressed work weeks, part time, and telecommuting (Baltes et al. 496). Alternative work schedules,
such as flextime and compressed work weeks, have been adopted by many organizations over the past
several decades (Baltes et al. 496). A recent report that surveyed 1,035

Analysis Of Corporate Governance Disclosure Practices Of...
Research Problem Ever since India opened up its economy to privatization, liberalization and
globalization there has been rapid institutionalization of the corporate sector and private enterprise.
This has quickened the pace of economic growth since 1992. In this changed scenario, the quality of
Corporate Disclosures has been an important factor not only for survival of the companies but also for
influencing the company s ability to raise money from capital market. In recent times, corporate
governance has attracted much attention both in academic literature and press media. Corporate
Governance is related to effective, transparent and accountable administration of affairs of an
institution by its management, while protecting the interest of its stakeholders comprising of the
shareholders, creditors, regulators and the public at large. But the implementation of Corporate
Governance principles is not an easy task. It is a very wide subject and needs a lot of discussion. The
purpose of this study is to analysis corporate governance disclosures practices of listed Companies. As
a medium for communicating information, annual reports generally include two types of disclosures
mandatory and voluntary disclosures. In India, mandatory disclosures are required as per the
provisions of Companies Act 2013(previously according to CA, 1956), and its various sister laws.
Voluntary disclosures are those which are voluntarily disclosed by companies without any compulsion
from any law.

Examples Of Money In The Great Gatsby
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, money often costs too much (Berger). The world seems to revolve
around money, and it often distracts people from the joys of life that bring them fulfillment. This is
shown in almost every main character of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although on the
surface the characters of The Great Gatsby seem to live glamourous and joyous lives due to the riches
they have, when they are examined more closely, it is evident that their money actually does not
provide them prosperity and contentment; therefore, the theme of The Great Gatsby is that money
cannot buy happiness. Multiple examples prove that the theme of The Great Gatsby is that money
cannot buy happiness and these examples are displayed throughout the entire novel. This theme is
shown in Gatsby s chase after Daisy, Daisy and Tom s failure of a marriage, and it is shown when
Nick is attempting to get Gatsby s friends to attend his funeral.
Jay Gatsby seems to have anything and everything he could ever want; money, a beautiful house, and
a good friend, Nick. All of the random people that go to Gatsby s parties, although they do not know
exactly who he is, envy the so called glamorous life that he lives. But, F. Scott ... Show more content

that Gatsby s fortune bought him nothing other than the materialistic items that he did not seem to

more than one good friend who was willing to attend his funeral, which is depressing and it is quite
unusual for most people to have a funeral like Gatsby s. Unfortunately, even though Gatsby threw
elaborate parties constantly, he was seemingly forgotten by everyone as soon as he passed

Social Construction
For a lot of people, when the word technology is said they picture something related to or of a
computer or cell phone. Not many people think of the technology found in the field of science or the
creation of a modern day car or even what powers the technology they imagine. Even less think of the
individual parts of the artifact that makes up the piece of tech they thought of or just how long this
science of craft has existed and grown. With such an ever expanding and omnipresent force at work to
make humankind more advanced and life simpler, it s not surprising that other fields have sprouted to
examine how technology is shaped. One such examination led to the concept of the social construction
of technology (or SCOT). Advocates of this concept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It began as a system where you could send a text to one number and it would be broadcasted out to all
of your friends... Then five months after Twitter s launch, an earthquake in San Francisco happened
except this earthquake had people who were experiencing it using Twitter to share their stories, which
led to another group of people who heard about the earthquake using Twitter to get information from a
place they were not in. These were not the only groups of people using Twitter during the earthquake,
but they are the best example of interpretative flexibility. Two groups of people both using the same
app, but for one group it s a means of sharing information and for another it was about collecting that
information and that right there was the basis of Twitter. Closure took hold for a while because even
though the app was still used to communicate with friends, it became more of an information sharing
platform than it used to be. Then, more groups joined and the use of Twitter changed again. The rise of
social media created a new way to interact and soon led groups of investors, celebrities, politicians,
scientists, and even soccer moms to use the site to network, advertise products, educate themselves,
and start important conversations. Twitter was no longer just a place to trade information, it became a
business. And as newer generations of people begin to download Twitter, it will change again.
Currently, the majority of Twitter users are shaping this application by using it as a political platform
to share, stop, and acknowledge injustice. Yet, just a year ago, it was more often than not a place
where people got their first reports of natural disasters, sport scores, celebrity deaths, and spoilers of
popular television shows. It was not a place where you would see people from all types of different
groups fired up over politics and state of the world in the extent as it seen today. And yes, Twitter

King Arthur Alternate Ending
Oh, no, Alfred was hot.
Arthur scowled at the boy, hoping, praying that he wasn t coming to sit by him. He was. Alfred sat
down, lunch tray piled with everything and anything unhealthy. And he grinned, and his mouth was
still full of metal.
Arthur latched on to that.
Snaggletooth, Arthur greeted.
I see you re still a douche, Alfred smiled, opening a pudding cup. Miss me over the summer? I missed
you. I had this punching bag, right, and every time I smacked it in the face, I thought about you!
Alfred licked the lid of the pudding cup.

I see you ve been taking steroids, Arthur snapped later during gym. He had tried to get fit over the
summer, but the appeal of just not was so much greater. Inject in the arm or the arse?
Alfred guffawed, finishing his ten push ups. Arthur, are you jealous? I ve been working on these
babies all fucking summer, it s okay. Revel.
Arthur laughed, snorting through his nose. He kicked Alfred s arm, the younger boy still lying down
on the floor. Alfred rolled over onto his back, cursing happily at Arthur. Arthur continued to kick him
until the teacher called them away into teams.
Arthur skipped the showers; he didn t think he could quite handle Alfred in the nude, yet. He changed,
pulling off his t shirt and then regretting it when he felt a looming presence behind him. Antonio
slapped him on the back, smile easy and detached.

Women in Islam
Modesty is the best jewel of a woman speaks islamic culture to their female religious followers. In the
Kite Runner, by Khaled Hussein, we are provided with a window to peer into the traditional lives of
islam women. One such example is Soraya and her mother, and the family heirarchy led by the male
head of household, General Taheri. This core belief and value directs the pious life of a muslim
woman. It influences every aspect of her existence, from her apparel, to the way she holds herself in
social circumstances. These myriad of guidelines hailing from the Quran have played a vital role in
islamic history, and the cultural and political conflicts of today. ... Show more content on

Through false interpretations of the Quran, and the hunger for control among a select group of male
individuals, these women have now reached the climax of this battle for gender equality since the days
of Mohammed. Here we are, 14 centuries later to observe the strides time has taken. Islamic women
and girls today are still perceived as inferior to men. This belief is prevalent in the everyday routines
of a female living under religious standards. While there is a great diversity among the extremity of
islamic laws, depending where you are located geographically, it is safe to say that an unfortunately
high number of women experience discrimination daily. Many of these social injustices are results of a
secularized legal code. Women are permitted only one spouse, while for men they can wed up to four.
A young girl, according to law, can be wed at the age of nine, while boys at fourteen. Once a woman is
married, they are virtually bound to that man, however horrendous he or his actions might be. While it
s not technically illegal for a women to sue for divorce, it s a difficult process with harsh
ramifications. Men, in nearly every instance, win custody of the children, and women are left with
zero financial security afterwards. But this is not the worst of female suffering. Annually hundreds of
women perish in traditional Honor Killings , murders by male spouses or relatives of women
suspected of crime, especially

There have been bills drafted in Congress on this issue. Apparently, I will object to a bill to require tech companies to provide a backdoor because it infringes the privacy rights of smartphone users. He expressed his grievous feeling towards his father s drinking habit and used both comparison and allegories to explain how serious his father s alcoholism was and the negative effects he had during his childhood. Sander described his father as a demon after he had a drink which shows the horror that can be caused if a family has an alcoholic father. For instance, in the passage, Sander says I use the past tense not because he ever quit drinking but because he quit living that implies how his father s alcoholism behavior ruined his life while he was in his childhood. Furthermore, there were a lot of disappointments going on in his family due to his father s serious alcoholism. This is well evident when Sander articulates that He became a stranger, as fearful to us as any graveyard lunatic, not quite frothing at the mouth but fierce enough, quick tempered, explosive; who would ease his pain? Not mother, who fussed and pleaded but could not budge him; not my brother and sister, who were only kids . This clearly reveals the disappointments they had towards their father s addiction in drinking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. An Enquiry Concerning The Principles Of Morals Essay What is a moral? This is a question that has plagued philosophers for many years. Is it possible to have a set of universal morals? There are many questions that surround the mystery of morals. They seem to drive our every action. We base our decisions on what is right and what is wrong. But what is it that actually determines what is right and what is wrong? Is it our sense of reason? Is it our sense of sentiment? This is a question that David Hume spent much of his life pondering. What exactly is it that drives our actions? Yes, morals drive them, but what determines what our morals are? What is it that ultimately drives our actions; our feelings or our minds? Hume would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... a truth. To make an analogy to mathematics, truth is a function of reason, whereas taste is a function of sentiment. Sentiment is a function of the individual whereas reason is a function of the universe. The universe as a whole must follow reason, but the catch is that each individual s universe is slightly different in that each individual perceives his or her universe differently. quot; What each man feels within himself is the standard of sentiment. quot; (p.14) That is to say each person s individual universe has truths. These truths are based on reason. These truths/reasons are what help to determine the person s sentiment. However, it should be noted that because the reasons are NOT necessarily the person s sentiments, they do not motivate actions. One other reason why reason does not impel action is because reason is based on truths. Truths are never changing whereas sentiments are dynamic and are in a constant change of flux. At one moment, the criminal could feel sympathy for his victims and decide to spare a life, and the very next, the same criminal could become enraged at the pimple on a hostage s forehead and shoot him. Of course these are extreme cases, but the point is clear. Reason would dictate that only the first action would be moral. If reason drove actions, then moral behavior would prevail and there would be no immoral actions and hence there would be no crimes. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Calvert said, The period in which Robert Lowell wrote has been called The Age of Lowell, a testament to his genius as a poet, and this poet was truly a genius. Lowell was born on March 1, 1917 and died on September 12, 1977. Throughout his lifetime, Lowell wrote many poems and even a few books, but he is mostly famous for his works of poetry and the movement in which he utilized. Temple Cone simply stated that Skunk Hour is an important example of confessional poetry and this is a true statement. This poem also has aspects of Lowell s life; more specifically, aspects of Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). The man in the poem is described as ill and this depicts Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). Another clue that points out that this is a Confessional Poem, is found in lines one through three: Nautilus Island s hermit / heiress still through winter in her Spartan Cottage; / her sheep still graze above the sea, (Lowell). These lines actually depict where Lowell, a man who comes from a very old, upper class American family, spent several summers: Castine, Maine. The setting of this poem alone tells the reader that this is confessional poetry. The poem is set up in a place Lowell is very familiar with; this is partly why this poem is considered Confessional. In the poem, the narrator seems to be struggling in life and is almost depressed and then this skunk appears. The skunk in the poem provides a counterforce to the devastating effects of the world at large, and it distracts the speaker from his depression and therefore turn his focus to survival rather than thriving (Cone). This counterforce or skunk can be seen in the last two stanzas of the poem. Lowell describes the illness or depression that the speaker is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Medical And Psychological Treatment Of Mental Health There is a severe lack of understanding about mental health throughout many communities throughout the country. Because of this, many people do not accept the fact that mental illness is a genuine struggle that many people face on a daily basis and, as a result, most do not understand how widespread it is, particularly for adolescents. According to recent research, 10 15% of teenagers have experienced some symptoms of depression, roughly 20% percent of teens will experience depression before they reach adulthood, and adolescents who suffer from depression are twelve times more likely to attempt suicide. . One health behavior thatis extremely important is receiving medical and psychological treatment for mental illness. However, because mental health is still a taboo issue within many communities, there are many risk and protective factors that need to be taken into consideration. Evaluating these using the five levels of the social ecological model individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and public policy explains how individuals are affected by themselves, their relationships, their community, and their society as a whole. The first level of this model is the individual. One of the largest risk factors of individuals seeking treatment for mental illness is the difficulty of self identification. As such, it should be no surprise that a movie portraying that miracle was made. The movie, aptly called Miracle, chronicles the assembly of the team as seen fit by Coach Herb Brooks, and the trials and glory of the young team. A typical use of this technique is in the breast cancer examination: the cancer is often revealed as a stiffening of glandular tissue, which would be normally soft. Through these tests, measuring the stress applied and the resulting strain, it is possible to calculate material properties such as the Young modulus, the physical parameter corresponding to the material stiffness. The results of these experiments will depend on many mechanical properties of the material and it is often very common, in order to simplify the mathematical relationships between stresses and strains and improve the interpretation of the responses, to make several assumptions about the material characteristics: The material is assumed to be infinite: this means that boundary conditions and effects can be ignored; The material is assumed to be homogeneous: within the area where the test is performed we can consider only a smaller set of parameters ignoring changes of mechanical properties in space; The material is linearly viscoelastic: the relationship between the applied ... Seeing as their economy and infrastructure was heavily based on agriculture, the Confederacy would take the most impact from an abolishment of slavery and stronger federal government. • 19. Explain Three Affirmative Origins Of The American Revolution There are three affirmative origins of the American Revolution between 1760 and 1776 that affected American colonist. The first one was the proclamation of 1763. The second one that stands out was the stamp act of 1765 by King George III. Finally, in 1770 the horrendous murder of colonist was known as the Boston massacre. Parliament issued the proclamation of 1763 also known as the proclamation line. This infuriated the colonist by restricting land movement from going west of the Appalachian Mountains. It also created conflict with the colonist that had to give up their hoes and farmland to move east. This restriction only allowed licensed traders to travel west and make deals with the Indians. • 20. Christian Meditation On God And Spending Time Essay Every now I then I receive a letter from a subscriber on the best way to incorporate Christian meditation into their daily devotion time with God. Including Christian meditation, into your daily schedule can make your life so much more rewarding and fulfilling. There are numerous benefits to meditating on God and spending time in His presence. These include developing a more intimate relationship with Christ, eliminating worry and stress, creating a space for God to speak to our hearts, and becoming more sensitive to the Holy Spirit to name a few. I have tried many, many different schedules for my Morning Devotion over the years, but the one I am about to share with you has been the best one for me. By Morning Devotion I mean the time I take each morning before I leave for the job or work on my business. The days that I skip these activities are usually marked with anxiety and frustration. I have reasoned that if I m too busy for God and myself, then I m just too busy and that busyness and chaos usually ends up being a theme throughout my entire day. God created us spirit, soul, and body and He doesn t want us to neglect any of these areas. We neglect our bodies when we eat poorly and don t exercise. We neglect our mind or soul when we feed it with mental junk food instead of uplifting literature or spiritual delights, and we neglect our spirit when we don t spend time with God being restored, renewed, and renovated. So instead of thinking just, Christian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both have had a sizable play in companies performances, and have shaped and developed society from the beginning of their release. AR and VR technology take aspects of the real world and apply it to technology in a three dimensional form, just in different ways. Despite common misconceptions, these two ideas are not the same. VR is all screen generated work, only including technological elements in its world that may resemble real life items. AR, on the other hand, applies these elements to real life items, portraying an image onto an object you physically have in front of you. AR has had a specific impact on our society in general. From the Google Glass to the Hololens, it s no surprise that companies like Google (GOOGL) and Microsoft (MSFT) are doing so well. But what if we can use this technology for more? Most workers were bound to their work for as long as daylight was available (Chung). During the Industrial Revolution employees worked in factories on an assembly line(Chung). The world seems to revolve around money, and it often distracts people from the joys of life that bring them fulfillment. This is shown in almost every main character of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although on the surface the characters of The Great Gatsby seem to live glamourous and joyous lives due to the riches they have, when they are examined more closely, it is evident that their money actually does not provide them prosperity and contentment; therefore, the theme of The Great Gatsby is that money cannot buy happiness. Multiple examples prove that the theme of The Great Gatsby is that money cannot buy happiness and these examples are displayed throughout the entire novel.
