Advantages Of The Ola Model
2a) One of FC s ownership advantages is its ownership of the entire supply chain. Dairy farmers from
Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany form the cooperative Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina
U.A. This cooperative, in turn, owns the company Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. which processes the
milk provided by the farmers into dairy products such as yoghurt. Closing the cycle, the company
pays the farmers for the supplied milk (FrieslandCampina n.d.). This structure gives FC control over
the entire dairy chain from the farm to the processed end products. As a result, the organisation does
not have to deal with suppliers that do not comply with codes of conduct, and avoids redundancy costs
associated with running multiple programmes in different companies or business units. Instead, it can
implement programmes throughout the entire organisation, for example, foqus ... Show more content

However, while the OLI paradigm centers around a single expansion decision, the Uppsala model
views internationalisation as a gradual process with an incremental increase of knowledge of the target
region and subsequent commitments in that region. Hence, internationalisation occurs faster in the
OLI paradigm. Another difference between the two models is their respective focuses. The OLI
paradigm focuses more inward, on the attributes of the expanding company, comprising ownership,
location, and internalisation advantages and argues that companies need to combine these to minimise
risk and succeed with FDI. On the other hand, the Uppsala model concentrates on the actual process of
internationalisation, stating that companies should begin with low risk commitments such as exports
to acquire knowledge of the target country and then increase their commitment based on the gathered
knowledge. With higher commitment, more knowledge can be gained to be used for further
commitment (Peng Meyer

Peace Like A River Character Analysis
The novel Peace Like A River takes the readers on a trip back to adolescence through the eyes of 11
year old Reuben Land. Reuben lives in a motherless family with his two siblings Swede, a western
obsessed poet, and Davy, the protective older brother. When Davy commits a crime of passion in
protecting his sister and is hastily announced a fugitive of the law, the remaining siblings set out with
their father Jeremiah to follow Davy s trail. Throughout their journey Reuben witnesses miraculous
events at the hand of Jeremiah and his deep connection with God. All the amazing events that Reuben
witness all involve his father s unrelenting humanity to all those who are in his company, regardless of
the way they act. However the kindness of the Land ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the majority of the novel the Land Family is a shining example that being warm hearted
towards others is its own reward. Even when Mr. Holgren and Andreeson treat Jeremiah and the
family with disrespect, Jeremiah goes out of his way to care for them. Throughout the story Jeremiah
constantly respects others, regardless of their situation and behavior, and always put the best wishes of
others before his own desires. Jeremiah s kindness is further publicized to the reader when he accepts
Reuben s place in death. His gracious acts end with the ultimate reward of a seat at the Lord s Table in
heaven, which is a just reward for the benevolence Jeremiah has shown throughout the narrative.
Through Jeremiah Peace Like A River conveys the importance of caring for all of God s people, even
when those people may not respect you or themselves. This story is a mosaic of heavenly and
miraculous events, pieced together through the eyes of Reuben, which illuminates the importance of a
strong belief in the Lord s principles of kindness and

Explain Factors That May Influence Communication and...
Unit 1
Task 1:4:P3
Explain factors that may influence communication and interpersonal interactions in health and social
care environments.
Communication is very essential in our daily lives. In the situation given, there is a factor or a barrier
that affects in receiving non verbal communication. Samir s also first language is Urdu. As stated
Samir can read non verbal communication unless he is very close to the person, and he might be near
sighted.
There are factors that influence communication in Samir s situation. The basic problem is his vision.
One factor affecting Samir is poor lighting; even we have a perfect vision, we still need to struggle to

interpreter should be with Samir during his school days to facilitate communication. If there is no

or non verbal communication, with the use of pictures and symbols would also give a big help in
conveying communication. Samir is still growing, and he will soon learn English in many ways,
through by learning and experience.
The staff in the nursery will give Samir a special treatment, not really a favouritism but to consider
Samir s situation. The staff will also show that the treatment in all students are the same but there is a
little difference to Samir and the staff will clearly explain to other students.
If ever there is a classmate who understands Samir, the Staff will assign a student to be with Samir, or
a buddy system, this would help Samir that he will be no longer withdrawn. If a buddy will assist with
him then he will be no having hard time making friends. Just go easy, start with one friend, then
another one, until he is confident enough to make friends.
The Staff will also assign for play leaders. The play leaders will encourage Samir to join the group and
to be with the group. This will be a big help boosting Samir s

The Epic Tales Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round...
The legendary tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table often don t explain the true
magnificence of Sir Lancelot. Arguably one of the most famous Knights of the Round Table, Sir
Lancelot is one of the most well rounded knights as he is chivalrous, selfless, and one of the best
fighters in the land thus being an example of what a Knight of the Round Table should be. He is a very
excellent fighter, as he has proven to slay even the best of warriors in all of the depictions about him.
In addition, he is very charming and chivalrous as a Knight should be according to the commandments
they follow. Sir Lancelot looks out for others and he is very determined and selfless in times of need.

favor. How many times in battle have we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat? Outnumbered,
outflanked, but still we triumph? With you at my side, we can do so again. Lancelot, we are knights.
What other purpose do we serve if not for such a cause? King Arthur (King Arthur). Secondly, Sir
Lancelot s charming and outgoing personality made him the perfect knight and ladies man. Often
more than not, Lancelot would say a charming line and be a bit presumptuous. I don t know about

displayed physically as a strong captivating young man who damosels would be flooding with love.
On top of his chivalry, Lancelot liked to keep the promises he made with any woman. I cast me to be
there, for as at this time I must ride with this damosel for to save my promise. (Malroy). Lancelot
portrayed what men should be like in today s society, as people claim chivalry is dead but in the
Medieval era, chivalry was born and spread and lost somewhere along the way. Lancelot s chivalry
went a long way as he put his life on the line to prove his love for Lady Guinevere in one of the
depictions. In First Knight, Sir Lancelot completes a terrifying obstacle course with death written all
over it. From swords being poked from underneath, to huge swinging axe pendulums

Reaction About Osiris
Osiris is the Egyptian great god decreed as the Lord of the Underworld and Judge of the Dead (Pich,
2002, p. 178). He was the first son of the earth god Geb and the sky goddess Nut. He was married to
his sister Isis, whom he ruled Egypt with, until he was murdered by Seth, his jealous and vengeful
brother. After his death, Osiris went into a coma like state.
Most textual evidence accounts as Osiris being born wearing a crown (Pich, 2002, p. 128). The sun
god Ra himself chose Osiris to succeed his father, Geb. A few sources state a struggle for power
between Osiris and Geb. Kom Ombo even claimed in a text that Osiris was born again after his death
when his father Geb and his grandfather Shu merged together.
Pyramid texts often depicted Osiris ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

who trample the barley to thresh the grain. This can be seen as the myth of Osiris being connected to
the annual crop cycle and harvesting, and is one of the earliest example of ritualistic integration of the
Lord of the Underworld. Osiris could hence be also worshipped as an agricultural fertility deity.
During festivals of Osiris, Ithyphallic corn mummies were made and buried (Pich, 2002, p. 179). This
was symbolic for giving new life to the dead, just like seed corn grew into new

The Characters, Setting, and Symbols of Heart of...
Beyond the shield of civilization and into the depths of a primitive, untamed frontier lies the true face
of the human soul. It is in the midst of this savagery and unrelenting danger that mankind confronts
the brooding nature of his inner self. Joseph Conrad s novel, Heart of Darkness, is the story of one
man s insight into life as he embarks on a voyage to the edges of the world. Here, he meets the bitter,
yet enlightening forces that eventually shape his outlook on life and his own individuality. Conrad s
portrayal of the characters, setting, and symbols, allow the reader to reflect on the true nature of man.
The two main characters in Heart of Darkness, Marlow and Kurtz are used to show the true nature of
man, that is, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is expressed at both the start and the end of the novel. The light of Marlow, and his subsequent
psychological awareness and evolution, is contrasted by Kurtz, who, as many have expressed, may
represent the dark half of Marlow.
Marlow s journey leads him in an urgent search for Kurtz, the one man who can provide him with the
truth about himself. Like Marlow, Kurtz came to the Congo in hopes to bring light and civilization to a
backwards society. He is a highly educated, refined gentlemen; yet, in the end, the brutal nature of the
Congo forces him to resort to the life of a murderer and pilferer. The name Kurtz itself has symbolic
meaning. The physical shortness in Kurtz implies a shortness of character and spirit (Heart of
Darkness: A systematic evaluation). Marlow and Kurtz both symbolize the two conditions of human
nature. Kurtz represents what man could become if left to his own intrinsic devices outside protective
society. Marlow represents a pure untainted civilized soul who has not been drawn to savagery by a
dark, alienated jungle. (Heart of Darkness: A systematic evaluation). When the two come face to face,
each man sees a reflection of what he might have become in the other. In Kurtz, Marlow sees the

In Reagan s first term he grew the military by increasing weapons and troops exponentially (Ronald
Reagan Biography). Reagan had tax cuts across the board to help fuel the economic boom. This plan
now known as Reaganomics created over 16 million new jobs in America. Even though it created
many jobs it is still debated whether or not it is a good plan that we should use in Government today.
Reagan also created the Tax Reform Act of 1986. This act simplified the income tax code by getting
rid of tax shelters, lowering the number of deductions, and tax brackets. When members of the federal
air traffic controllers union (PATCO) went on strike, Reagan called it a peril to national safety (Top 10

The Galactic Federation Essay
In the year 2100, the earth had become incorporated into the galactic federation, the centralized
government of universe seven. Earth C 135, was the cradle of human civilization, and the waterworld
of section A 44 of universe seven. The galactic federation was under the command of the council of
Overseers, the Overseers were created by the alien race of the Galvanics, a species of technologically
advanced aliens capable of creating, and innovation technology by chemical process. The council of
Overseers purpose was to maintain peace, and order across the universe. The Overseers sought to
maintain, and sustain order in the universe by the usage of the Metal morphs, servants of the council
of Overseers who acted as judge, jury, and executioners. The Metal morphs were also artificial

Smoking Persuasive Essay
Although smoking is seen as a right of freedom, it has numerous consequences that not only damage
smokers. According to David M. Ludington, Cigarette smoke is the most dangerous of the toxic
elements in our environment. Smoking is responsible for almost 500 000 deaths each year in the
United States (1). For the reason that many citizens are not well informed with the effects of smoking,
the United States has a high death rate per year. The act of smoking in public should be banned, for it
can influence any uninformed individuals to acquire the habit of smoking, which leads to future health
risks. Smoking imposes hazardous health problems to anyone nearby, and inclusively contributes to
various environmental and social problems.
Smoking can cause imminent health issues to all who choose to smoke. Lung cancer, asthma, heart
attacks, and lung diseases are some of the results from smoking. Many do not take this in account of
when attracted to smoking. For this reason, it is unethical for authorities to not fully illegalize smoking
in public. Individuals have the freedom to smoke, yet the government must oversee the whole impact
to the communities. People of all ages are vulnerable to what their naked eye perceives. If and when
innocents desire to smoke, they would have now exposed themselves to a path of health risks. This
course of action is proven to repeat throughout generations as it has been since American Indians first
introduced tobacco to the European settlers. It is

Violent Video Games And Aggression
Abstract
Past studies have shown a link between violent video games and an increase in aggressive behaviors.
The intent of the present study was to further investigate these findings. It was predicted that players
who engage in violent video games would show higher rates of aggression. Participants (N = 20) were
asked to complete two short surveys, the Buss and Perry (1992) aggression questionnaire and
Anderson and Dill s (2000) video game exposure scale. The results of the study did not support the
prediction, nor did they corroborate the findings from previous research. Identifying the relationship
between violent video games and aggression is rather complex. Earlier studies have shown varying
results; however, much of the research has shown a positive correlation between video game violence
and real world aggression.
Keywords: Violent Video Games, Aggression, Perception
Exposure to Violent Video Games and the Relationship to Aggressive Behavior
For more than two decades, researchers have been studying video game violence and its link to
aggressive behavior (Anderson, 2003). The compilation of research has shown consistent results
indicating that prolonged exposure to violent video games is positively correlated with high levels of
aggressive behavior (American Psychological Association [APA], 2015). The objective of the present
study was to investigate whether playing violent video games is associated with real world aggressive
behavior. Banduras

Supersize Me Mr Morgan Spurlock
During the documentary Supersize Me, Mr. Morgan Spurlock embarks on a month long experiment, to
see how McDonalds would affect somebody s body if that is all they ate over the course of a month.
The rules that he created were reasonable while also potentially harmful. He decides to go on a
McDiet where he will eat only McDonalds, 3 meals a day, over the course of 30 days. Before starting
his experiment, he is seen by three doctors, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, as well as a general
practitioner. He also was seen by a nutritionist and a personal trainer. In order to mimic the everyday
life of a typical U.S. citizen, he decides to only walk a suggested amount of 5,000 steps per day. He
decides to only eat and drink items that are on the McDonald s menu. Which included bottled water.

lost his sex drive. Towards the end of the experiment, he was experiencing heart palpitations and is
told to stop the experiment immediately out of concern for his health. His health is compared to
Nicolas Cage in the movie Leaving Las Vegas who drinks himself to death over a similar time period.
One doctor states that the irreversible damage done to his heart could eventually cause a heart attack
even if he lost all of the weight gained during the experiment. He experienced mood swings, excessive
weight gain, heart palpitations, headaches, depression, irreversible damage to his heart as well as his
liver. He found it more difficult to lose the weight than it was to gain it. It took him 5 months to lose
20 pounds and another 9.5 months to lose the remaining 4.5

Justification by Reflective Equilibrium
Justification by Reflective Equilibrium
Famously, John Rawls is regarded as using reflective equilibrium (RE) to justify his principles of
justice. But the point of justification by RE in Rawls s more recent work is not easily established since
he regards his own work as still contractarian. In order to clarify matters, I distinguish between wide
and narrow RE, as well as show that wide RE consists of several kinds of narrow RE: RE as a plea for
(re)consideration, RE as a constructive procedure of choice, and safe ground RE. The connection of
these REs is shown in order to reach justification. The point of introducing RE for justification is seen
in opening the range of possible revisions to allow for consensus. However, (the lack of) ... Show

These narrow REa are of different kinds in that respect Daniels s account is insufficient:
We are in the (permanent) procedure of establishing a RE between the intuitions we have concerning a
certain case and proposed rules or principles. RE here describes a constructive procedure of choice,
where both principles/rules and descriptions for our intuitions are to be chosen in a mutually
constructive way. (12) Let s call this RE as constructive procedure of choice.
It is uncertain whether or not in Rawls s view there already exists a RE between these principles/rules
and the background cluster of principles or whether we are to create that RE in due process. In any
case, the RE involved in this process is of an already familiar kind: it is the plea for (re)consideration
of some rather firmly held or some newly proposed principles.
Finally, there is a RE between parts of the background cluster and some other intuitions. In this sense
we already have proven background principles, that is principles we have proved to fit our intuitions
about some cases (though perhaps not others). As a result there is a RE between those background
principles and some relevant intuitions. Here, clearly, is another kind of RE involved; let us call this
third kind of RE the safe ground RE.
These different kinds of narrow equilibria are prone to different problems. (13) Here, one of

Bernice Bobs Her Hair Essay
amp;#8220;Bernice Bobs Her Hair ;
Have you ever at one time or another felt like an outsider? Many people do, trying desperately to fit in

It seemed Bernice had amp;#8220;stolen private property ; which allegedly belonged to Marjorie (1).
Sometime being popular will make one more territorial and suspicious of others which might hurt
them in the long run.
Without Marjorie amp;#8217;s guidance, however, Bernice would have stayed the naïve and shy, thus
keeping her from being accepted by the popular crowd. It was evident in the very beginning of the
story that she was uncomfortable in social situations. When Warren asked her if she would like to
dance at the party, she immediately told him that is was too crowded to dance and when asked to go
out to the veranda, she muttered that it was too hot and proceeded to stand there. It seems that Bernice,
being a poor conversationalist, feels too uncomfortable being with others. In a group Bernice is more
likely to be stay inconspicuous and just listen rather that beginning or entering a conversation.
Another example of her shy persona was when Warren and Bernice sat down on the veranda. It was
apparent she was very nervous about the situation; her knees were pressed together so tightly one
could have cracked a nut between them. Bernice is also very naïve and Marjorie took full advantage of
that. Her innocence led her to believe that Marjorie could make all her dreams come true, question
nothing, and following all orders from her. This is apparent at the dinner table when she announced
that she was going to bob her hair in the near

Disadvantages Of Bottled Water
If a person conducting a social experiment were to pass out two label less water bottles, one filled with
tap water and one filled with bottled water, the number of people that cannot tell which bottle contains
tap water might be surprising. The difference between tap and bottled water can vary depending on
brand, location, and other factors, but there will always be those that stand out. Tap water has many
advantages over bottled water in frequent use. While bottled water might have its own convenience,
tap water costs less, is tested more frequently and publicly, and there is safety in tap water despite the
stigma stating otherwise. Tap water cost less due to not having to spend money on the plastic needed
to create the bottles of bottled water. The cheapest bottled water found in the local area could be a
pack of twelve for $3.00, meaning the price per bottle would be around 0.25 ¢; this amount is much
greater than the average cost of tap water. Cost per bottle is not the only cost of bottled water, there are
also costs of transportation and production of the bottles necessary to consider. According to Standage,
This year, Americans will spend around $9.8 billion on bottled water (1). The amount spent in
America alone on bottled water, if reallocated elsewhere could provide large changes in places of
need. Finance is not the only cost that bottled water could impact however. The plastic in the bottles is
made from petrol made from an oil base. With

My Favorite City Essay
Imagine waking up early in the morning, getting in the car, and driving for a couple of hours to your
favorite city to visit. It is an immensely great feeling that occurs once you reach it. We all have our
favorite places to visit. What makes your favorite city so great? All of the best cities in Michigan
should have certain characteristics to be considered the best.
Most favorable cities in Michigan all have the quality of a dedicated lighthouse and pier. For example,
in the city of Port Austin, Michigan there is a towering lighthouse at the end of a long pier that
stretches out into Lake Huron. It is a tremendous feeling walking for a couple of minutes and reaching
the end of the pier. The feeling is quite breathtaking to look at the clear blue water with a snappy
breeze blowing. The whole experience of walking for a couple of minutes to make it to the lighthouse
is why Port Austin is such a fantastic destination. Another example of an outstanding city with a
lighthouse is Charlevoix, Michigan. Charlevoix is up north near the top of the mitten. There is a small
lighthouse on a small pier that opens the sizable Lake Charlevoix into Lake Michigan. One of the best
things to do in the summer is jumping off of the Charlevoix lighthouse pier into the crisp water of lake
Michigan. The water is so clear and blue and feels so refreshing on a hot summer day. Seeing the
boats go through the channel and sitting by the water is why I continue to go back to Charlevoix. A

Gould And Lewis Twenty Lessons In Environmental Sociology
The authors of the book Twenty Lessons in Environmental Sociology , Kenneth Gould and Tammy
Lewis, provide a critique on the interactions of various social systems and ecosystems by many
different scholars and institutions. A combination of neo Marxist ideas are used as a base of the world
system theory to create the system for the neoliberal theories (Gould and Lewis p. 39). The world
system theory is looking into economic relationships based off of social changes that are occurring
around the world and determining whether the country is benefitting or not (Gould Lewis p.39). This
theory is built upon the perspective of the modernization theory; these societies are being directly
affected by the lack of modernization within their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These theories are closely related when looking at their end goals of wanting to change social
institutions that will develop a positive change in the environment. However, when examining the
reflexive modernization theory in relation to environmental issues, societies need to think more about
what they don t want rather than want they do want. For example, when evaluating a solution for
polluted rivers, rather than looking at what is wanted to better the problem, society should look into
what they do not want and evaluate the issue from there. This is where a difference in theories is
noted. Both theories show that the idea is not to abandon capitalism, but rather renegotiate and
reorganize the problem entirely (Gould and Lewis p.43). The system is then broken down at the
individual level and changes are made throughout the system into the institutional level. However, the
ecological theory looks to modernize the system as a whole, rather than radically changing it. The
Cradle to Cradle Design by McDonough and Braungart is an example of the ecological modernization
theory of reintegrating products and wastes back into society. Promoting this design of reintegration is
represented at the individual level as products are being reused rather than destroyed causing
unnecessary wastes and pollution.

Analysis Of Harlem Renaissance Poetry

The great philosopher Plato once orated: Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart

Harlem was a cultural center, drawing black writers, artists, musicians, photographers, poets, and

Hayao Miyazaki and Animated Film Essay
Getting inspired is something that can happen unexpectedly. A single thing can just set the stage for an
amazing creation to come about. Much of what people are exposed to due to the media and also
literature can really affect someone s life. Hayao Miyazaki is a film director, animator, screenwriter
and also producer. He is someone who s work really changed my perspective on animation and also
the conventional idea of a hero. Miyazaki was born on January 5, 1941 in Japan. His parents were
Dola and Katsuji Miyazaki. His father Katsuji Miyazaki and worked for Miyazaki Airplanes which
was Miyazaki s uncles business. The company manufactured parts for warplanes that were used
during World War II. Miyazaki had three brothers which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The following year Miyazaki also met Akemi Ota, an animator that then became his wife in 1968.
Overall Miyazaki worked in a total of six different animation studios, his positions varied from
director to animator but his work also influenced many other directors or screenwriters within those
companies. Having grown independent from the companies he set off to start his own company known
today as Studio Ghibli. Studio Ghibli was founded in 1985. The studio was created due to a
collaboration by Hayao Miyazaki, his friend Isao Takahata, and also producer Toshio Suzuki. There
furst film collaboration was done in 1984, with the film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Many
people believe that this film is what set the stage for Studio Ghibli to be created. Much of the studio s
success has not solely been due to Miyazaki, but also because of his associates. One of the most
prominent films from the studio was directed by Isao Takahata, the film is Grave of the Fireflies,
which depicts the story of orphans living in Japan during World War II. The company is also well
known for their no edits policy which basically states that the film cannot be altered when being
dubbed. However, this policy has caused many issues with American companies because some films
have been Americanized or altered, which then tends to change the message of the story and the plot.
With the great success that Studio Ghibli has had Miyazaki

The Effects Of Mental Skills On Sports Psychology
Introduction The use of mental skills in sports psychology can both benefit an athlete to motivate
themselves and provide them with the self confidence to achieve although the use of these skills can
also have a negative impact on the athlete. This review of literature includes two different types of
mental skills that can be used to help an athlete in the rehabilitation process, one study to support the
concept that athletes benefit from a range of mental skills use is Arvinen Barrow et al. This study took
place in 2015, found out that 71.6% of 1283 athletes indicated that they believed mental skills helped
them to rehabilitate faster when using 3 types of mental skills (imagery, goal setting and positive self
talk). On the other hand there are studies which argue against the positives of mental skills more
specifically relaxation and imagery and one example is a study conducted by Francis, Andersen and
Maley (2000). The results from this study backed up the idea that positive self talk and positive
reinforcement from an external individual can help the rehabilitation process. However the athletes
used in this study did not believe that other mental skills such as relaxation or imagery were
particularly useful in the rehabilitation phase. Furthermore when athletes return to physical activity
there are theories that they are often feared of the injury occurring again and may not give themselves
the best chance to perform at their previous standards. The following examples of

Mindy Kaling Thesis
Annotation Essay Mindy Kaling is an esteemed Hollywood actress known for her roles as Jane on
Jane the Virgin and Kelly on The Office. Many people know her on screen but few know that in
addition to her acting she is also a scriptwriter. So, when Kaling was given the chance to pitch ideas
for the next Hollywood hit, she jumped at the opportunity. She went before a panel of executives to
share her thoughts for the next box office romcom, and was left both confused and surprised by their
lack of interest, with a counter that they were looking into movies that were about boardgames. This
experience prompted Kaling to write an opinion piece for The New Yorker and called Flick Chicks, a
satirical sequential essay that categorizes the inadequate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

squid decaying on a beach somewhere for two hours. She then goes on to describe another kind of
female movie character, known as the Ethereal Weirdo. This is who Kaling describes as the Manic
Pixie Dream Girl. She uses description techniques to create the ideal version of a character that puts
an image in the mind of the reader. She wears gauzy blouses and braids. She likes to dance in the rain
and she weeps uncontrollably if she sees a sign for a missing dog or cat. She might spin a globe, place
her finger on a random spot, and decide to move there. Following this anecdote, she refocuses the
piece, stating that such an individual shows up often in movies but never in real life. Kaling also plays
to the common prejudice that females are meant to fit to male ideals. Roles like that of the Ethereal
Weirdo actually perpetuate sexism and degrade the role of women in acting. She conveys this point
through dry satirical elements, saying, She is essential to the male fantasy that even if a guy is boring

Acupuncture For The Treatment Of Low Back Pain
Acupuncture for the treatment of low back pain
Background
Low back pain has been a major activity limitation for many people below the age of 45 years in the
United States (Andersson, 1999). According to a study conducted in the U.S. in 1997, there are 54
percent patients that report back pain and using complementary therapy (Wolsko et al., 2003). Another
survey conducted in 2002 indicated that while back pain led to most frequent patient visits to
acupuncturists across U.S (Cherkin et al., 2002). Western countries still experience many case of
chronic low back pain which can be attributable to high medical expenses, decline in productivity, as
well as disability. There still exists a variety of standard treatments although some have not been
cleared as affective. Acupuncture is a contemporary as well as alternative treatment strategy for
patients wilt low back pains although there are questions from previous systematic reviews that were
inconclusive on the results of acupuncture treatment strategy for low back pain. These statistics
indicate a high level of public concern hence strengthening the relevance for asking whether
acupuncture gives positive results in the treatment of back pain. Therefore this research seeks to gain
evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the positive results of acupuncture in treatment
of low back pain.
Before this study, there were other publications that had systematically reviewed research on this
question in 1996 (Ernst,

Mnr Influence On America
Since its birth in the late 18th century, the United States has arguably had one of the greatest global
presences in human history. It has left its impact on most, if not all, nations currently in existence. In
the past century, the United States has helped develop and manage many different countries around the
world. In recent years the goal of this nation building and managing came in response to the spreading
of communistic ideals. The United States, being a democratic and capitalistic nation, helped many
nations avoid being led by communistic regimes. United States intervention has helped to prevent
dictatorships, oppression, and genocide around the globe. Many of these interventions came during a
key period of time of communistic ideology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The spreading of communistic ideals was a, if not the, primary focus of U.S. foreign policy. Even
though both of these countries are thousands of miles and multiple continents away, the manner in
which the U.S. intervened in both of these countries is strikingly similar. While communism was the
root of both of these countries interventions, the MNR was not nearly as dangerous of a communist
threat as the North Korean government. The communistic goals of the oppressive North Korean
government were a much greater threat to democracy than the primarily economic goals that the MNR
had. This is why war was imminent in Korea but in Bolivia it remained relatively peaceful. While both
countries received financial and provisional aid from the United States, the reasoning behind this aid
was different. In Bolivia the United States gave this aid in an attempt to stabilize their government and
keep making economic profit from the tin industry in Bolivia. While aid in Korea was less for United
States gain and more for the retention of democracy. Economically speaking, the case of Bolivia and
South Korea turned out to have an extremely different impact. The aid that was given to Bolivia, in
turn ruined their economy and drove them into deeper and deeper reliance upon the United States. In
South Korea however, the South Korean people were able to capitalize on the aid they were given and
turn it into a highly functional and profiting society. This is possibly because the Bolivians were never
able to diversify their countries source of revenue as South Korea was able to, with it coming
primarily from tin and oil. To this day the Bolivian people still have a dependence on the American
government where the Korean and American government can almost be seen as equals. It would be a
safe assumption to say that both the Korean and

Essay on Stefan Sagmeister, an Influential Designer
Libby Castellani Holly Vaughn GRA 1109C 17 October 2012 Stefan Sagmeister: An Influential
Designer In today s art world there seems to be a large gap that separates fine art from commercial art.
Often there is a disconnected coldness associated with those who work in communications art and
produce art for clients. As if all emotion and feeling is stripped from commercial artwork merely
because it was created with the intention of pleasing a client. Stefan Sagmeister bridges the gap in the
art industry by redefining commercial design as a personal, emotional, and deep art. While Sagmeister

posters it is his philosophy on design that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poster displays the midsection of Sagmeister s nude body, stretching from the top of his lip all the
way down to where his pubic hair begins. The audacity of his brazen body is accompanied by harsh
lettering that has literally been carved into his skin by his intern with a razorblade (Heller amp;
Vienne, 10). While the broad reception to this poster can be attributed to its shock value, Sagmeister s
self mutilation was a commentary on the absurdity of inking the body with tattoos (Heller amp;
Vienne, 10). The scratches in his body display the details of the lecture as well as Sagmeister s words
pertaining to his philosophy on design, Style=Fart. This philosophy, which he has now put to rest,
translates as his conscious effort to not get wrapped up in fashion statements or trends; design that is
defined by a temporary style is meaningless (Designboom). Sagmeister explains why he relinquished
the philosophy in an interview with Designboom: I discovered that this is simply not true. Through
experience I found that if you have content that is worthwhile the proper expression of that content, in
terms of form and style is actually very important. It can be a very useful tool to communicate that
content (Designboom). Stefan Sagmeister also has two published books under his design belt
(Sagmeister). Made You Look, Sagmeister s first book was published in 2001

The Perceptions Of Black Males
The Perceptions of Black Males in College
Kwesi N. Luke
Liberty University
Abstract
African American males in higher education have captured the attention of researchers; sadly,
exhausted amount of research has focused primarily on the failing black male, while little has been
done to address the problem. This paper focuses on factors that influence the perceptions and self
esteem of African American males in higher education, and explore why their educational
achievements are overwhelmingly lower than any other racial/ethnic group. Specifically, this review
focuses on how research in education or the lack thereof has contributed to this particular issue. The
review of literature in this paper leads to two research questions: (1) What efforts if any have been
directed to address the negative outcomes of black males in higher education? (2) What other external
factors have prevented black males from achieving their objectives at a lower rate than any other
racial or ethnic group? The following 10 reviews attempt to answer the above questions.
Keywords: Black males in higher education, failing black males, Education attainment among black
men, Scholarly journals on black men in education, why black men fail, external factors affecting
black males in education.

The Trail of Tears was a trail often used by Native Americans on their way of escaping the white
settlers during the Indian Removal Act. The group of tribes were called the Five Civilized Tribes. It
consisted of the Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole Nations. The tribes lived on
land in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida. The land of the tribes were rich in

Andrew Jackson (from Tennessee) was apart of the Indian Removal. In 1814, he commanded the U.S,
Military that defeated a fraction of the Creek Nation. The Creeks refused to migrate, but the
Chickasaws saw the removal as inevitable and did not resist. Then in 1823, Supreme Court handed
down a decision which stated that Indians could occupy lands with the U.S. but couldn t hold the title
to those lands, which was called the Right of Occupancy . Later in March 1832, a treaty was signed
and opened a portion of Alabama land. The Natives were guaranteed protected ownership of
remaining portion. By 1837, Jackson had removed forty six thousand Natives Americans land east of
Mississippi, which had then opened twenty five million acres of land to white settlement and slavery.
Cherokees used legal means in attempt to safeguard their rights and the Chickasaws were forced to
pay the Choctaws for their right to live on part of western allotment. President Martin Van Buren sent
General Winfield Scott and seven thousand soldiers to expedite the process because some Natives
wanted to stay and fight, they then forced the Cherokees into stockades at bayonet point. In 1907,
Oklahoma became a state and Indian Territory was gone for good. Going back, there were many

An Ironic Reversal of Professional Perspective in Medical Ethics
The movie The Doctor captures the shortcomings of a mechanized health care industry. Dr. Jack
McKee is a gifted, however, arrogant, and self centered surgeon who cares little about the emotional

It also goes against the requirement of a medical committee member to promote education regarding
medical ethical matters and also to assess and provide patient care by demonstrating a respect for

follow the principle of beneficence, a supporting theory about the value of avoiding harm and helping
others. Although he treated his patients in a lackadaisical manner, he demonstrated his gifted surgical
abilities with the ultimate goal to heal them. Even when he is diagnosed with cancer and scheduled to
receive radiation therapy, he s concerned about missing his scheduled surgeries and continues to go to
work despite his sickness. In the beginning of the movie, Dr McKee was an egoist. Even though he
performed the kind actions of operating on people and saving their lives, he was only acting in his
own interest. He didn t actually care about the patients. On his way walking into a scheduled
operation, he stated A surgeon s job is to cut. Caring is all about time. I d rather cut straight, and care
less. He believed he had a right to his own interest, which was to do his job, and care only about his
interests, which is exactly how egoists think. Towards the end of the film, he turns into

Today is September 17, 2016, almost a year since my accident and I ve come a long way since then.
My ankles healed and I m back to cheerleading with no complications, I ve even been going to
tumbling and working on my back handspring, which brings us here. At tumbling, a back handspring
is easy because the floor is springy but the track at a football game is a whole different story and I
have to do it today. My heart is racing as we walk over to the other side of the track to do our hello
cheer to the other team. I think back to the few times I warmed it up with my coach and try to keep in
mind doing it just like that. We re getting closer. I can t do this, guys. Oh my God! I groan. I m gonna
dieee. At this point I m almost panicking and we re getting even closer. I hear multiple
encouragements from my team but they don t do much to calm my nerves. My palms are getting
sweaty and my brain is going crazy with thoughts of how badly this could end. We finally get to the
other team and we greet them with the usual Hey ladies! I scan the faces of the other girls with their
smiles probably just as fake as

Poetry
A Soldier
By Robert Frost
He is that fallen lance that lies as hurled,
That lies unlifted now, come dew, come rust,
But still lies pointed as it plowed the dust.
If we who sight along it round the world,
See nothing worthy to have been its mark,
It is because like men we look too near,
Forgetting that as fitted to the sphere,
Our missiles always make too short an arc.
They fall, they rip the grass, they intersect
The curve of earth, and striking, break their own;
They make us cringe for metal point on stone.
But this we know, the obstacle that checked
And tripped the body, shot the spirit on
Further than target ever showed or shone
How does poetry help you see yourself/your world differently?

Young as she is, the stuff
Of her life is a great cargo, and some of it heavy:
I wish her a lucky passage.
But now it is she who pauses,
As if to reject my thought and its easy figure.
A stillness greatens, in which
The whole house seems to be thinking,
And then she is at it again with a bunched clamor
Of strokes, and again is silent.
I remember the dazed starling
Which was trapped in that very room, two years ago;
How we stole in, lifted a sash
And retreated, not to affright it;
And how for a helpless hour, through the crack of the door,
We watched the sleek, wild, dark
And iridescent creature
Batter against the brilliance, drop like a glove
To the hard floor, or the desk top,
And wait then, humped and bloody,
For the wits to try it again; and how our spirits
Rose when, suddenly sure,
It lifted off from a chair back,
Beating a smooth course for the right window
And clearing the sill of the world.
It is always a matter, my darling,
Of life or death, as I had forgotten. I wish
What I wished you before, but harder.
What are frail? Spring blossoms and youth;
What are deep? The ocean and truth.
How can sorrow be heavy as said in the poem? Today and Tomorrow be brief? Youth be frail? And
truth be deep?

Love In The Outsiders
Love is one of the strangest things to come across in life and everybody masks it differently, some are
open while others would rather not show what they feel. In The Outsiders we witness a group of
friends who had created their own gang, every one of them loves at least one thing about their gang
whether it is voiced or not. We meet Darry as he is coming out of jail for yet another crime and
ponyboy describes him, cold with a hatred of the whole world. (Hinton 10). Darry is viewed as a very
dangerous person who is almost unable to show a single good emotion let alone love. We meet Johnny
the same night as we meet Darry, and he is the complete opposite as Darry, with a clean record he
could be a regular civilian. Ponyboy calls Johnny a

What Is A Distributed Operating System Security
Distributed Operating System Security
Anthony Fuciarelli
3030 Operating Systems
Dr. Michael Johnson
22 November 2016
Distributed operating system security is that of which security is implemented on a system of
connected computers that share and run information. This type of security system is different than
your average security features that a person may have on just a laptop or home computer system. The
biggest challenge is keeping the information that flows in a distributed operating system safe, as well
as protect against the multiple threats that security in a distributed operating system face. Its important
to understand how a distributed operating system security works, as well as the many different types
of threats that the distributed operating system security will face. Before the actually security in a
distributed operating system is discussed its important to understand what a distributed operating
system is and how its different from what most users are used too. A distributed operating system can
be described as an operating system or OS that runs on multiple central processing units or CPUs but
to a user it seems like as if its all one machine. An example would be multiple computers linked
together on one network that includes other devices such as printers or scanners. Every user that
accesses these computers on this network has access to the resources and files that are on the network,
as well as the devices that are connected.

The Marketing Strategy Of The Inc. Essay
The focus group of potential customers of Venturing is educators because educators will buy every
year for students. They are loyal customers if Venturing adds more features and modifications to the
game. Every new school year, more educators buy Venturing for their classes.
Competition
The model for Entrepreneur. Inc is direct sales because it could reach large educators than any other
kinds of model. The competitors for this computer game are Sim City of Maxis company., Civilization
50.00 of Microprose simulation company., Caesar of Sierra On Line Entrepreneurship, Inc. and
Scholastic from Future Endeavors Treetop Books (New Co. 1yr.old).
The four possible competitors above do not combine a game with the materials for education. The
competitor closes to Venturing game is Maxis because the aim of Maxis to education the young adults
and adults about transportation. It is more attractive to educators than many other games in the market
beside Venturing. The special of Venturing game is to train the future entrepreneurs that make this
game different than the competitors.
The market segments for Venturing are demographics, customer types and prices. For demographics.
Entrepreneurship, Inc will sell to three groups such as young adults, adults and educators. Young

Police Enforcement And Community Policing
According to COPS and the U.S. Department of Justice, community policing begins with a
commitment to building trust and respect between police and communities. Many police department
and citizens within the communities collaborate and they more effectively address underlying issues,
change negative behavioral patterns, and allocate resources.
Bureau of Justice Statistics defines community policing as, A philosophy that promotes organizational
strategies, which support the systematic use of partnerships and problem solving techniques between
the police and the community. These situations address the immediate conditions that give rise to
public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and fear of crime.
Some states also get grants to hire community policing professionals that develop nineteenth century
in the United States and England; the police have struggled with balancing the need to be efficient and
effective, while also being lawful (Walker 1994).
Police practice is indeed rooted in Western political philosophy, which emphasizes equity, fairness,
and justice (Critchley, 1967).
In 1974 the Kansas City Patrol Experiment demonstrated that increasing routine preventive patrol and
police response time had a very limited impact on reducing crime levels, allaying citizens fear of
crime, and increasing community satisfaction with police service community (Chaiken, Greenwood,
and Petersilia).
The elements of community policing, such as improvements in

Paul Levy Essay
Paul Levy s strong transformational leadership style facilitated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
(BIDMC) from ailing to thriving. The organization faced many dire issues including financial crisis,
poor quality of patient care, and low staff morale. This grim outlook required a strong
transformational leader. Levy displayed all the characteristics of a powerful and effective leader by
embracing intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, and charisma which enabled him to lead
them through the crisis. Levy was able to inspire the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center staff by
clearly presenting the hospitals challenges and seeking out different viewpoints to solve them. He was
able to intellectually stimulate the employees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This helps support and develops followers to improve self confidence and a desire to improve
performance. When you have a team that believes in themselves, you can achieve so much more than
your average organization. Levy believes in the CEO as a teacher, he motivates his management team
in improving decision making and accountability, an example is the discharging of patients which
were being seen as a bottleneck (getting people who are well to leave the hospital). The Department of
Medicine was responsible for coming up with a plan to resolve the issue, and had yet to take action in
implementing their new plan. Levy addressed this in a staff meeting, direct at the head of the
Department, in front of everyone. He said that in order to get anything done, you need a champion,
periodic reporting, and corrective actions. This put peer pressure on the Department of Medicine to
produce results, singling them out as aware of an issue although they had not yet taken action. This is
a lesson on how to organize things to get things done. He was also motivating other to follow suit and
start implementing improvements in their departments. Charismatic leaders are able to inspire emotion
and passion in their followers by being optimistic and enthusiastic. Without passionate and emotional
employees, an organization will be crippled and unable to face

Celtic Civilization Research Paper
There are many misconceptions regarding the origins of Celtic civilization. One is the Celts were
undisciplined raiders throughout all Europe until finally crashing into the Erie Isle. Another is the
Celts were an irrational people easily manipulated by witchcraft and the belief in magic. Nothing
could be more further from the truth. From Herodotus, to Plato, to Aristotle, to the Caesars of Rome ─
written histories of ancient times evidence that the original Celtic civilization was one of the greatest
original societies of all time. Written histories of the Celts first appear in fragments of texts dating to
fifth century B.C.E. Herodotus wrote of the Celts as a large civilization dwelling beyond the Pillars of
Hercules and into the fertile ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
 Love virtue ─ for it bringeth peace.
 Abhor vice ─ for it bringeth evil upon all.
 Obey those in authority in all just things ─ so that virtue may be exalted.
 Cultivate the social virtues ─ so shalt thou be beloved by all men.
Most of the ancient European continental laws have a common origin traceable to the early Celtic
laws (de Jubainville). The ancient Celts lived in extreme geographical isolation throughout much of
their early history. As such, their laws can be studied for their uninfluenced qualities ─ free from
changes by Roman law, which later spread throughout all Europe during the rule of the Roman Empire
(Id.).
In Celtic society a judge was called a Brehon. The brehons had absolute power in the interpretation of
the laws, as well as the specific application of law to individual cases (Ginnell). The brehons were
therefore a very influential class. Those attached to clan chiefs, had free lands for their maintenance ―
which, like the profession itself, remained in the same family for generations. Those not so attached,
lived simply on the fees of their profession, with many eminent brehons becoming somewhat wealthy

Makes Item 345 Price Leader Small Competitors Wait for LT to announce price Losing market share
from 1995 on Item 345
1. It is a fact that item 345 has lost market share and as the product manager I would be concerned
about it. By retaining FF20 price I can gain market share only if competition increases their price to

Only 2 alternatives)
6. There is rich cost data given in the case. This must be used to understand how much profits / market
share LT can achieve at various production levels ( we must assume that they product what they sell)
7. Though numbers given in the cost data can not be contested, I would definitely contest the way total
cost has been computed. The item 345 department operates within a large manufacturing facility that
churns out number of other products too. Hence judging the profitability of item 345 on the basis of
total cost is not practical.
8. I would like to remove allocated costs and fixed overheads and see what would be the variable cost.
If this is done, you can see that the variable cost hovers around 7 FF. ( Not many of you have done
this)
9. As the product manager, I would argue that my primary task is to ensure a healthy contribution
(Selling Price Variable Cost). This is logical because my salesmen sell other products too and the
selling overhead is an allocated cost. Moreover, the general plant overheads are also allocated costs.
10. My total variable costs look something like this. The one highlighted in green color.

  • 2. Advantages Of The Ola Model 2a) One of FC s ownership advantages is its ownership of the entire supply chain. Dairy farmers from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany form the cooperative Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. This cooperative, in turn, owns the company Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. which processes the milk provided by the farmers into dairy products such as yoghurt. Closing the cycle, the company pays the farmers for the supplied milk (FrieslandCampina n.d.). This structure gives FC control over the entire dairy chain from the farm to the processed end products. As a result, the organisation does not have to deal with suppliers that do not comply with codes of conduct, and avoids redundancy costs associated with running multiple programmes in different companies or business units. Instead, it can implement programmes throughout the entire organisation, for example, foqus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, while the OLI paradigm centers around a single expansion decision, the Uppsala model views internationalisation as a gradual process with an incremental increase of knowledge of the target region and subsequent commitments in that region. Hence, internationalisation occurs faster in the OLI paradigm. Another difference between the two models is their respective focuses. The OLI paradigm focuses more inward, on the attributes of the expanding company, comprising ownership, location, and internalisation advantages and argues that companies need to combine these to minimise risk and succeed with FDI. On the other hand, the Uppsala model concentrates on the actual process of internationalisation, stating that companies should begin with low risk commitments such as exports to acquire knowledge of the target country and then increase their commitment based on the gathered knowledge. Ludington, Cigarette smoke is the most dangerous of the toxic elements in our environment. Smoking is responsible for almost 500 000 deaths each year in the United States (1). For the reason that many citizens are not well informed with the effects of smoking, the United States has a high death rate per year. The act of smoking in public should be banned, for it can influence any uninformed individuals to acquire the habit of smoking, which leads to future health risks. Smoking imposes hazardous health problems to anyone nearby, and inclusively contributes to various environmental and social problems. Smoking can cause imminent health issues to all who choose to smoke. Lung cancer, asthma, heart attacks, and lung diseases are some of the results from smoking. Many do not take this in account of when attracted to smoking. For this reason, it is unethical for authorities to not fully illegalize smoking in public. Individuals have the freedom to smoke, yet the government must oversee the whole impact to the communities. People of all ages are vulnerable to what their naked eye perceives. • 11. Violent Video Games And Aggression Abstract Past studies have shown a link between violent video games and an increase in aggressive behaviors. The intent of the present study was to further investigate these findings. It was predicted that players who engage in violent video games would show higher rates of aggression. Participants (N = 20) were asked to complete two short surveys, the Buss and Perry (1992) aggression questionnaire and Anderson and Dill s (2000) video game exposure scale. The results of the study did not support the prediction, nor did they corroborate the findings from previous research. Identifying the relationship between violent video games and aggression is rather complex. Earlier studies have shown varying results; however, much of the research has shown a positive correlation between video game violence and real world aggression. Keywords: Violent Video Games, Aggression, Perception Exposure to Violent Video Games and the Relationship to Aggressive Behavior For more than two decades, researchers have been studying video game violence and its link to aggressive behavior (Anderson, 2003). The compilation of research has shown consistent results indicating that prolonged exposure to violent video games is positively correlated with high levels of aggressive behavior (American Psychological Association [APA], 2015). The objective of the present study was to investigate whether playing violent video games is associated with real world aggressive behavior. Banduras ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But the point of justification by RE in Rawls s more recent work is not easily established since he regards his own work as still contractarian. In order to clarify matters, I distinguish between wide and narrow RE, as well as show that wide RE consists of several kinds of narrow RE: RE as a plea for (re)consideration, RE as a constructive procedure of choice, and safe ground RE. The connection of these REs is shown in order to reach justification. The point of introducing RE for justification is seen in opening the range of possible revisions to allow for consensus. (12) Let s call this RE as constructive procedure of choice. It is uncertain whether or not in Rawls s view there already exists a RE between these principles/rules and the background cluster of principles or whether we are to create that RE in due process. In any case, the RE involved in this process is of an already familiar kind: it is the plea for (re)consideration of some rather firmly held or some newly proposed principles. Finally, there is a RE between parts of the background cluster and some other intuitions. In this sense we already have proven background principles, that is principles we have proved to fit our intuitions about some cases (though perhaps not others). As a result there is a RE between those background principles and some relevant intuitions. Here, clearly, is another kind of RE involved; let us call this third kind of RE the safe ground RE. Disadvantages Of Bottled Water If a person conducting a social experiment were to pass out two label less water bottles, one filled with tap water and one filled with bottled water, the number of people that cannot tell which bottle contains tap water might be surprising. The difference between tap and bottled water can vary depending on brand, location, and other factors, but there will always be those that stand out. Tap water has many advantages over bottled water in frequent use. While bottled water might have its own convenience, tap water costs less, is tested more frequently and publicly, and there is safety in tap water despite the stigma stating otherwise. Tap water cost less due to not having to spend money on the plastic needed to create the bottles of bottled water. The cheapest bottled water found in the local area could be a pack of twelve for $3.00, meaning the price per bottle would be around 0.25 ¢; this amount is much greater than the average cost of tap water. Cost per bottle is not the only cost of bottled water, there are also costs of transportation and production of the bottles necessary to consider. According to Standage, This year, Americans will spend around $9.8 billion on bottled water (1). The world system theory is looking into economic relationships based off of social changes that are occurring around the world and determining whether the country is benefitting or not (Gould Lewis p.39). However, when examining the reflexive modernization theory in relation to environmental issues, societies need to think more about what they don t want rather than want they do want. For example, when evaluating a solution for polluted rivers, rather than looking at what is wanted to better the problem, society should look into what they do not want and evaluate the issue from there. This is where a difference in theories is noted. Both theories show that the idea is not to abandon capitalism, but rather renegotiate and reorganize the problem entirely (Gould and Lewis p.43). The system is then broken down at the individual level and changes are made throughout the system into the institutional level. However, the ecological theory looks to modernize the system as a whole, rather than radically changing it. • 23. The Effects Of Mental Skills On Sports Psychology Introduction The use of mental skills in sports psychology can both benefit an athlete to motivate themselves and provide them with the self confidence to achieve although the use of these skills can also have a negative impact on the athlete. This review of literature includes two different types of mental skills that can be used to help an athlete in the rehabilitation process, one study to support the concept that athletes benefit from a range of mental skills use is Arvinen Barrow et al. This study took place in 2015, found out that 71.6% of 1283 athletes indicated that they believed mental skills helped them to rehabilitate faster when using 3 types of mental skills (imagery, goal setting and positive self talk). On the other hand there are studies which argue against the positives of mental skills more specifically relaxation and imagery and one example is a study conducted by Francis, Andersen and Maley (2000). Many people know her on screen but few know that in addition to her acting she is also a scriptwriter. So, when Kaling was given the chance to pitch ideas for the next Hollywood hit, she jumped at the opportunity. She went before a panel of executives to share her thoughts for the next box office romcom, and was left both confused and surprised by their lack of interest, with a counter that they were looking into movies that were about boardgames. This experience prompted Kaling to write an opinion piece for The New Yorker and called Flick Chicks, a satirical sequential essay that categorizes the inadequate ... She uses description techniques to create the ideal version of a character that puts an image in the mind of the reader. She wears gauzy blouses and braids. She likes to dance in the rain and she weeps uncontrollably if she sees a sign for a missing dog or cat. She might spin a globe, place her finger on a random spot, and decide to move there. Following this anecdote, she refocuses the piece, stating that such an individual shows up often in movies but never in real life. Kaling also plays to the common prejudice that females are meant to fit to male ideals. Roles like that of the Ethereal Weirdo actually perpetuate sexism and degrade the role of women in acting. She conveys this point through dry satirical elements, saying, She is essential to the male fantasy that even if a guy is boring he deserves a woman who will find him fascinating and perk up his dreary life by forcing him to go skinny dipping in a stranger s ... It has left its impact on most, if not all, nations currently in existence. In the past century, the United States has helped develop and manage many different countries around the world. In recent years the goal of this nation building and managing came in response to the spreading of communistic ideals. The United States, being a democratic and capitalistic nation, helped many nations avoid being led by communistic regimes. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The spreading of communistic ideals was a, if not the, primary focus of U.S. foreign policy. Even though both of these countries are thousands of miles and multiple continents away, the manner in which the U.S. intervened in both of these countries is strikingly similar. While communism was the root of both of these countries interventions, the MNR was not nearly as dangerous of a communist threat as the North Korean government. The communistic goals of the oppressive North Korean government were a much greater threat to democracy than the primarily economic goals that the MNR had. This is why war was imminent in Korea but in Bolivia it remained relatively peaceful. While both countries received financial and provisional aid from the United States, the reasoning behind this aid was different. In Bolivia the United States gave this aid in an attempt to stabilize their government and keep making economic profit from the tin industry in Bolivia. While aid in Korea was less for United States gain and more for the retention of democracy. Economically speaking, the case of Bolivia and South Korea turned out to have an extremely different impact. The aid that was given to Bolivia, in turn ruined their economy and drove them into deeper and deeper reliance upon the United States. In South Korea however, the South Korean people were able to capitalize on the aid they were given and turn it into a highly functional and profiting society. This is possibly because the Bolivians were never able to diversify their countries source of revenue as South Korea was able to, with it coming primarily from tin and oil. To this day the Bolivian people still have a dependence on the American government where the Korean and American government can almost be seen as equals. Essay on Stefan Sagmeister, an Influential Designer Libby Castellani Holly Vaughn GRA 1109C 17 October 2012 Stefan Sagmeister: An Influential Designer In today s art world there seems to be a large gap that separates fine art from commercial art. Often there is a disconnected coldness associated with those who work in communications art and produce art for clients. As if all emotion and feeling is stripped from commercial artwork merely because it was created with the intention of pleasing a client. Stefan Sagmeister bridges the gap in the art industry by redefining commercial design as a personal, emotional, and deep art. While the broad reception to this poster can be attributed to its shock value, Sagmeister s self mutilation was a commentary on the absurdity of inking the body with tattoos (Heller amp; Vienne, 10). The scratches in his body display the details of the lecture as well as Sagmeister s words pertaining to his philosophy on design, Style=Fart. This philosophy, which he has now put to rest, translates as his conscious effort to not get wrapped up in fashion statements or trends; design that is defined by a temporary style is meaningless (Designboom). Sagmeister explains why he relinquished the philosophy in an interview with Designboom: I discovered that this is simply not true. Through experience I found that if you have content that is worthwhile the proper expression of that content, in terms of form and style is actually very important. It can be a very useful tool to communicate that content (Designboom). Stefan Sagmeister also has two published books under his design belt (Sagmeister). Levy addressed this in a staff meeting, direct at the head of the Department, in front of everyone. He said that in order to get anything done, you need a champion, periodic reporting, and corrective actions. • 48. Celtic Civilization Research Paper There are many misconceptions regarding the origins of Celtic civilization. One is the Celts were undisciplined raiders throughout all Europe until finally crashing into the Erie Isle. Another is the Celts were an irrational people easily manipulated by witchcraft and the belief in magic. Nothing could be more further from the truth. From Herodotus, to Plato, to Aristotle, to the Caesars of Rome ─ written histories of ancient times evidence that the original Celtic civilization was one of the greatest original societies of all time. Most of the ancient European continental laws have a common origin traceable to the early Celtic laws (de Jubainville). The ancient Celts lived in extreme geographical isolation throughout much of their early history. As such, their laws can be studied for their uninfluenced qualities ─ free from changes by Roman law, which later spread throughout all Europe during the rule of the Roman Empire (Id.). In Celtic society a judge was called a Brehon. The brehons had absolute power in the interpretation of the laws, as well as the specific application of law to individual cases (Ginnell). The brehons were therefore a very influential class. Those attached to clan chiefs, had free lands for their maintenance ― which, like the profession itself, remained in the same family for generations. Those not so attached, lived simply on the fees of their profession, with many eminent brehons becoming somewhat wealthy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a fact that item 345 has lost market share and as the product manager I would be concerned about it. This must be used to understand how much profits / market share LT can achieve at various production levels ( we must assume that they product what they sell) 7. Though numbers given in the cost data can not be contested, I would definitely contest the way total cost has been computed. The item 345 department operates within a large manufacturing facility that churns out number of other products too. Hence judging the profitability of item 345 on the basis of total cost is not practical. 8. I would like to remove allocated costs and fixed overheads and see what would be the variable cost. If this is done, you can see that the variable cost hovers around 7 FF. ( Not many of you have done this) 9. As the product manager, I would argue that my primary task is to ensure a healthy contribution (Selling Price Variable Cost). This is logical because my salesmen sell other products too and the selling overhead is an allocated cost. Moreover, the general plant overheads are also allocated costs. 10.
