Australian Culture Research Paper
Researching National Cultures: an evaluation of Filipino and Australian Cultures
Introduction
The age of technology is at reach almost everywhere in the world. The world is considered as a Global
Village wherein the flawless movement of toil, people and data has become a commonplace. It has
been internationalized that communication between countries had become a prerequisite. By this,
being able to understand its traditions and culture plays a vital role due to its diverse worldviews and
often dissimilarity of values. The ability to prevent potential conflicts and foster productive,
cooperative relations will depend largely on effective intercultural relations . (Communication
between cultures, eight edition p. 4 2013)
The main core of this report is to compare and distinguish the divergence of Filipinos and Australian
national cultures. The focal point will be primarily about the incessant population growth of Filipino
migration in the northern Territory of Australia that ensued more than one hundred years ago.
According to the 2011 poll, there were 171, 233 Filipino people in Australia with an estimation of

norms, values, and laws within an individualistic society protect the rights and status of the individual.
In a collectivistic culture, the focal point of a person s identity is group association. (Leveraging

Budgeting Is The Most Important Parts Of The Project...
Budgeting is one of the most important parts of the project planning process. Projects that come in at
or under budget when completed depends on it. Poor planning will lead to budget crisis where the
project could end up costing double or triple times the budget and delay the opening of a facility or
business by that same token; time is money. As Dr. Pace mentions, had the planners of the Irwin Army
Community Hospital paid attention to the budget planning, the sponsor might have realized the short
comings of that project (G. Pace, personal communication, December 3, 2015). Therefore, budgeting
is the most important out of planning projects. Bottom line, the customers already know what they

The scope of the project gets defined in the work breakdown structure (WBS), where the schedules are
planned, and resources are assigned; at which the project manager are more familiar and can estimate
more precisely to an agreeable point with the customers. Project scope has a great influence on the
accuracy of cost estimates (Ciraci Polat, 2009).
The delay and disruption caused by bad estimation may lead to project failure (Lee et al. 2009) or at
best to project management failure, that is, not delivering the project on time, within budget, and per
specifications (Khamooshi Cioffi, 2013). Projects that come in at or under budget when completed
depends on budgeting. Poor planning will lead to budget crisis where the project could end up costing
double or triple times the budget and delay the opening of a facility or business by that same token;

it done before they call a project manager. As in the movie, Jerry McGuire (1996),

The 1870 Education Act
1.0 Introduction
Education Act speaks about schooling which mainly emphasizes on students. Education Act plays the
role as a guideline or referral point for all aspects relating to education. At current, there are several
existing acts on education. One of the earliest ones and recognized Education Act would be the 1870
Education Act which will be summarized, contextualized and evaluated in the following subtopics.
2.0 1870 Education Act Summarized
The 1870 Education Act, universally recognized as Foster s Education Act, set the structure of
schooling for all children aged between 5 and 13 years old (Politics, 2014). Gillard (2011) mentioned
that the 1870 Education Act which established school boards to oversee and complete the network of
schools and bring them all under some form of provision was drafted by Liberal MP, William Forster,
and it was introduced on 9 August 1870. 1870 Education Act is the start of obligatory state education
(Shaw, 2011). The Act was introduced with the purpose to handle education aspect in Britain
(Parliament, No Date). The Parliament (No Date) further added on by stating the act permitted
voluntary schools to carry on unchanged, but established a system of school boards to build and
manage schools in areas where they were needed . The Act contains three parts and five schedules that
deal with organizational issues.

Christopher Columbus Essay examples
Touted as the founder of America, Christopher Columbus has been heralded in the US and Spain for
over five hundred years. As children, we were taught that Columbus was a dreamer. He had far
fetched ideas about the world being round, instead of flat as it was once thought to be. And when
someone finally gave him the opportunity to prove his theory, he discovered America and named its
inhabitants Indians . Just as shocking as finding out that the Tooth Fairy is one of your parents, this
version of Columbus couldn t be further from the truth. The real truth about Columbus is far different
and less magical than what we have come to accept as the truth. Christopher Columbus (Cristobal

Columbus ship was burned and he survived only be swimming six miles to shore. After regaining his
strength, without money or position, Columbus made his way to Lisbon where he arrived in 1477.
Soon after he arrived, he began sailing for Italian merchants to Northern Atlantic ports. His travels
kept him busy with trips as far away as Iceland. However, Columbus did find the time to meet and
marry Felipa Perestrello of Portugal. In their brief marriage, Columbus fathered a son before his wife
died, only two years after they first met. Later, he would have another son out of wedlock. The next
four years up until 1484, Columbus spent his time devising a way to sail to the Indies. He studied
maps and text provided to him by the king of Portugal. While Felipa s family had not had much
money, they were still nobility, which gave Columbus access to the Portuguese court and the King. It
was during this time that Columbus came up with his plan to find a westward route to Asia. Contrary
to modern day textbooks, by the end of the 15th century, most everyone knew that the Earth was a
sphere. The question that remaining was the size of the Earth. Columbus wanted the opportunity to
explore and hopefully discover a new route to Asia and to the mythical land that Marco Polo had
referred to Cipango (Japan). In 1484, the King of Portugal denied his request saying that it was too

The Importance Of The Patriot Act
After the attack on September 11, 2001, the United States implemented the Patriot Act. This new act
was signed by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001, and brought about many changes to
make the United States strong by making changes that would help guard against terrorism.
The Patriot Act was implemented right after the September 11 occurrence. This act revised the
electronic surveillance which allows the administration to eavesdrop on anyone. Although Patriot Act
was rejected before the September 11 incidence, the legislative body overturned their decision by the
Bush Administration. Although some members of the committee did not have a chance to review the
Patriot Act, but it was voted in successfully and signed by President Bush. Before the Patriot Act went
into effect, surveillance was limited by the authorities (Surveillance Under the USA/Patriot Act,
2017). As stated by Hall (2015), The USA Patriot Act amended existing surveillance statutes. When
the Fourth Amendment and these statutes are viewed as a whole, electronic and wire surveillance can
be divided into four categories, each with a different level of privacy protection (p. 487). Previously,
authorization was limited to only designate offences to listen to discussions on the telephone;
furthermore, there never a distinctive understanding if a warrant or summons was mandatory in listen
to voice messages. Even when any warrant was granted, it had state the name of the transporter of the

Cleopatra and Her Relationship with Roman Caesars
Stacy Schiff is a remarkable writer and a historian. She has a Pulitzer Prize to prove it, and she is also
a guest writer for the New York Times and various newspapers. Her latest work is Cleopatra: A Life.
Schiff tells how Cleopatra was a very remarkable woman. Even after Octavian, Cleopatra was known
as the wicked women in the world.
Schiff tells much about Cleopatra s life involving Mark Antony and Julius Caesar. Schiff ensures us
that Cleopatra had one of the top educations from Alexandria. Caesar did not only stay in Egypt for
Cleopatra s seductress ways, however Caesar wanted to get rein over his enemies. When Caesar was
murdered, by a group of schemers, in the Roman Senate, his adopted great nephew Gaius Octavius
was his only heir. Mark Antony thought he was heir to the Roman Empire but however, Caesar had
different plans.
Janet Suzman tells the story of how Shakespeare wrote the play about Cleopatra and Mark Antony.
Suzman says Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is a horrific story of a formally mighty conqueror
who is infatuated with the Queen of Egypt. Antony was so obsessed with Cleopatra and how she led
him to his death. (Draycott, 38 44) Suzman said that Cleopatra and Antony had a horrible love story.
Schiff tells the story of Cleopatra and Antony very similar to Suzman. However, Cleopatra and Antony
s relationship had its problems. Schiff believed that Antony and Cleopatra had much in common. They
were both left out of Caesar s will. Schiff also tells how

Analysis Of Pat Barker s Night
When people think of war, there first instinct is to think about the physical pain soldiers have gone
through, the physical demand of training before and during. What people miss is the mental trauma
that affects soldiers during and after the war. In today s society it is much more acceptable to speak
about mental health issues due to the war and we have established a term for it Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder (PTSD). We have established many options for soldiers and families who are affected by
PTSD. The two books that I am analyzing speak about the idea of mental health or war trauma during
World War I and World War II, instead of calling it PTSD the authors call is shell shock, which is
close to the definition of PTSD. The two books that I am analyzing is Pat Barker s Regeneration,
which is focused on a mental institution and how soldiers deal with shell shock and many other
internal struggles. The second is Elie Wiesel s book Night, which speaks about a family that is taken
to a concentration camp and is dealing with the mental trauma that they experience and how they are
forced to change the way they think and feel in order to survive. Both touch upon very similar themes
when it comes to trauma and survival during and after the war.
In Pat Barker s book Regeneration, he writes in a way that makes you feel a connection with either
one or more of the characters in this book. He wants you as the reader to sympathize with each
individual who is suffering from physical and

Overview
When Gordon Bethune left his job at Boeing in February 1994 to accept the position of chief
operating officer (COO) of Continental Airlines, the company was struggling to survive. Even though
it was the fifth largest commercial airline in the United States, with revenues of nearly 6 billion
dollars, the company had reported a net loss every year since 1985, and was ranked the last among the
top ten commercial airlines in the United States in terms of operational performance and customer

financial plan to achieve the company reach the black in 1995, a plan to improve product offerings for
customers Continental, and a staffing plan for transform the culture of the company. The four parts
should be implemented simultaneously and together.
The case highlights the details of the Plan for Progress and the series of administrative measures that
were implemented over the next six years to implement and run. Bethune s effort to achieve the
turning of the company became a classic.
In January 2001, Continental Airlines was named Airline of the Year by Air Transport World, a leading
magazine in the trade industry of aviation. The magazine cited the friendly culture for employees of
Continental, and reported that the company had the best working relationship between the major
transportation agencies with connections to several cities. Continental also stated that he had a

Pop Youth Subculture Research Paper
Adolescence is a time of transition and growing independence. However the experiences that young
adults seek today are quite different to those in previous decades.Mods, punks, rockers, flappers,
hippies: there was a time when young people made their loyalties clear by the way they dressed. A
popular film of the 1970s called Grease based on the early Australian subculture reflects this notion.
These subcultures came about at the end of World War II when the west was marked by a rise in

The Common Misconception Of The Scientific Community
The common misconception in the scientific community is that there is only one way to get things into
space a combustion powered rocket. However, recently there have been talks and designs floating
around about other methods to travel to space. Currently the technology and tools existing regarding
space are seen as revolutionary and ahead of our time. However the possibility for even more
advanced and efficient technology is within the grasp of humanity. We first launched a rocket to get to
the moon in 1969, and since then the design for space rockets has varied slightly. The use of space
shuttles was first introduced in 1981, and since then almost no changes have been made for space
travel. In our world if you are not progressing, you are falling behind. We have been using dangerous
and unreliable rockets for 47 years now. The recent explosion that occurred for the company SpaceX
has highlighted our case and point. The current way to get into space is not only unreliable and
dangerous, but it is also highly inefficient and expensive. The main focus in recent years is launching
things into geostationary orbits, or orbits that stay in the same spot relative to the Earth. The cost to
launch a rocket into a geostationary orbit is currently around 20,000 dollars per kilogram, which is an
outrageous amount of money (http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/176625 60000 miles up
geostationary space elevator could be built by 2035 says new study). Furthermore the rockets

Effects of the Industrial Meat Indutry
Introduction
This day in age we have heard so many rumors of how factory slaughter cattle farms are actually ran.
Many people assume all beef cattle are kept outside in fields. But, this is not always the case. This
paper is to serve to somewhat get a clearer picture of what really happens within a cattle slaughter
house. In every phase of development within a factory slaughter farm, animals suffer needless changes
and restricted, narrowed living conditions. Not only are the animals being affected by diseases or
stress, but we too are being affected just as much. When the farms dump fesses on lands it will make
its way into our water and air supply leaving behind pesticides and toxins affecting our immune
systems. Scientists have linked animal stress to problems with food quality and safety (Animal
Welfare). Like any human that suffers from stress and anxiety can be diagnosed with any sorts of
illness, the same circumstances can happen to an animal when it is subjected to stress and pain, the
animal is prone to disease and can produce lower quality meat, and milk. In this case the cattle being
exposed to stress their milk and meat will have a lower quality. I personally have come face to face
with a pig factory, which I do not believe it is any different from a cattle factory. Just being able to see
firsthand what a slaughter house looks like is very sad. The pigs that were in the farm were mostly
females, they lived in a pin that was big enough for the pig to stand up

The Warfare During The World War II Essay
Hybrid Warfare
Since the very first war on record, each belligerent has attempted to find more advanced ways to
defeat the other. Usually wars have been fought traditionally: In terms of conventional, classic war,
definitions are almost identical around the world: type of war where weapons of mass destruction are
not used, only classical combat means, the fight is fought only by regular armed forces (Frunzet),
called conventional warfare. As populations around the globe grew, another type of warfare came
about. This other warfare can be classified as, activities taken to enable a resistance movement or
insurgency to coerce, undermine or overthrow a government or occupying power by operations
conducted through or with illegal auxiliary or guerrilla power, in a restricted area (Frunzet), this is
known as unconventional warfare. Most adversaries that the United States has faced can be classified
as either a conventional or unconventional force. Since moving into the information revolution, there
is another type of battle tactic that has come into existence: cyber warfare. This involves attacking
enemies via the Internet, targeting anything that requires Internet access, such as power plants.
Recently, U.S. forces and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies have noticed a new type
of war and given a name to this different style of war: hybrid warfare. Hybrid warfare is not new; it
has been around for some time, but it was not until recently that it has been studied.

It turns out that Anna approached Wagner, saying that she was his long lost niece, when he knew for a
fact that he had no living relatives but decided soon decided to let her help him with things around the
house. Neighbors of Wagner claimed to have spent several hours in Wagner s apartment after his
death. Moving onto the next victim, Anna befriended Olive Luella Koehler, an elderly lady who lived
in the same apartment building as Wagner. Investigators learned that Anna became friends with her,
which included her bring her ice cream cone treats. After consuming one of the treats, Mrs. Koehler
had to be admitted to the hospital. It is not surely known if the ice cream had anything to do with her
becoming sick, but oddly while she was in the hospital, some of her valuables had been stolen from
her residence. As the case is coming along, the investigators suspect Anna that she is poisoning her
elderly patients to steal their money and valuables. In the year of 1937, right before Anna was to take a
trip to Colorado, another mysterious death had presented. 67 year old George Gsellman died in his
room, suspiciously right after his last visit with Anna. Investigators jumped to the case quickly, taking
the opportunity to do a full autopsy to find out the reason of death. Metallic poison was found in his
body, croton oil, which was a home remedy back then. It is not

Essay on Philosophy of Christian Education
The education of children has existed since the beginning of time as parents have taught and molded
their children into the young adults they desired them to be. Initial training of children was not in a
formal setting, although history would see numerous settings, purposes, and methodological changes.
Philosophies of education have also changed through the years as various voices have seemed to grasp
the purpose of educating the next generation, thus laying out objectives to reach those goals of
teaching children. The statement philosophy of Christian education contains much information to be
unwrapped. The term philosophy literally means, in the Greek, love of wisdom. In this case, the study
of philosophy involves a critical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes
of your houses and on your gates (Deuteronomy 6:6 9). Christian education is not all about what takes
place in the formal classroom at school. As Christian educators, we are in a partnership with moms
and dads to help shape and disciple their children. It is the discipleship of children that propels
believing teachers to devote their life to this vital ministry of Christian education. When it comes to
the education of children, there are numerous fundamental factors, to mention a few: parents, teachers,
the student himself, curriculum, methodology, culture, and the Holy Spirit. Students must first take
responsibility for their own education and desire to learn. Even though this key educational factor is
not a prerequisite for learning, all students must eventually hunger for learning or it will never take
root in their lives. Responsible teachers must use responsible materials and methodology in order for
purposeful education to have a lasting impact. Teachers must use their divine calling and materials that
are not sugar coated, censored, vacuous and dry, nor merely politically correct (Holtrop) to challenge
this current generation of students. While secular humanism views children as inherently good, we
know that scripture teaches that all mankind to be innately evil, a

How Did Walt Disney Change The World
Walt Disney, a pioneer of the American animation industry, was not insulted by the phrase your
imagination is childlike and immature . He turned these images, ideas, and childhood dreams in his
head into reality, creating a multi million dollar empire. Disney faced many struggles along his whole
life journey, but did not give up. His heart and determination for animation led to an out of this world
theme parks along with highly successful films. Disney s innovations have entertained many
generations worldwide since the 1920s.
Walt was born as Walter Elias Disney on December 5th, 1901 in the Hermosa section of Chicago,
Illinois. He was the youngest of 5 children: four boys and one girl. The world best knows him by the
famous name Walt Disney, but his full name is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It took sometime before Disney hit success again. However, Walt Disney Productions did shelve two
iconic movies: Cinderella and Peter Pan. He later opened a theme park, Disneyland, in 1955 in
California. Walt wished the theme park to be like nothing ever created on earth . He especially wanted
it to be surrounded by a train, going back to his youth and his early interest of trains. It was instantly a
huge success and gave him the inspiritan to open a second park in Orlando, Florida. He was beginning
planning the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, otherwise known as EPCOT, but
sadly he died on December 15th, 1966 before construction was completed. Disney was scheduled to
have lung neck surgery from an old polo injury, but the pre surgery X rays discovered a large tumor on
his lung. At the age of 65, Disney was diagnosed with lung cancer. However, it is known that he was a
chronic smoker most of his adult life. Disney is currently buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los
Angeles, California. Thankfully, his older brother Roy Disney carried on the plans to finish EPCOT
and the rest of the theme park. Walt Disney World then opened in

Theories Of Determinism
Intro
To my knowledge freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. Determinism states that every event
has a set of causes that determine their effects. However the things people do can be labeled cause
with a equal effect as well. Everyone has a set of choices that leads us to act. However these choices
may depend on a different set of circumstances. Deciding how we should act and if thus action is by
our free will. I like Aristotle believe that these actions be they voluntary or involuntary are a reflection
of our morals based on our feelings and actions.
Case One After a night of drinking Caleb refuses to be driven home. Because he is driving under the
influence. Hence causing for the car to run off of the bridge resulting in the death ... Show more

While under gun point he is told to commit unlawful acts or his brother will be shot for his
noncompliance. During one of these unlawful acts, with his brother s life in mind Jesse was forced to
run down a police officer, in result killing him. The act is Jesse running down the police officer. Jean
Paul Sartre expressed that as an individual we have both the freedom and responsibility to choose to
act or not to act. thus there are no accidents in life.. could always get out of it by suicide or desertion;
these ultimate possible are those which must always be present for us when there is a question of
envisaging a situation. (Sartre 660 661). What he does cover is what if there is someone else life in
danger. For example, a loved one. Aristotle believes that sometimes our actions may also be
involuntary. But if it is to save the life of himself and his mates, any sensible person would do it.
(Aristotle 647). Its these complications that allowed Jesse to selflessly go against his nature and
voluntarily and involuntarily commit these acts. It s a fine line to say he freely committed the acts.
When there were extenuating circumstances such as being held at gunpoint that inhibited his freedom
and the freedom of others. In my opinion from a moral stand point, because Jesse made choices based
on external complications morally he s responsible for the death of the cop. but on a higher standpoint
the robber is more morally responsible than

The Causes And Consequences Of Maximilien Robespierre
To a larger extent the arrest and execution of Maximilien Robespierre was due to his narcissistic
tendencies and over obsession with killing as he showed narcissism to such an extent that he created a
new religion in France to which he was the head (Source C), was the ultimate judge of wrong and
right in his time of power (Source B), assumed autocratic control of the government (Source C) and
was interested solely in personal power and glory (source D). Maximilien Robespierre was the
architect of the French Revolution s reign of terror and executed more than 17,000 enemies of the
revolution (Source E), fell into complete tyranny over the simplest differences in opinion and fear was
a key component in his terror (Source D), became intoxicated with the power he had over life and
death hence called for further executions through his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robespierre displayed his fall into true tyranny and narcissism when he gave himself the power to
decided solely what is wrong and right and would persecute anyone who disagrees with him (Source
D). Robespierre carried this power to such an extent that he would arrest anyone who went against
him, his ideas, or the revolutions aims, or merely a difference of opinion. This further shows his great
characteristic of narcissism, which led to his downfall as citizens, and fellow members would
constantly feel unsafe and live in the constant fear of Robespierre s persecution. This fear was also
complimented by his ban of trials, which increased execution rates and flow (Source C). This would
lead not only to the fear of being unfairly arrested without trial but furthermore, the fear of execution,

The Pros And Cons Of Cultural Appropriation
Cultural appropriation is a crime in 2017. The Kardashian family is constantly under criticism for
cultural appropriation, as Khloé Kardashian has been accused of appropriating Native American
headdresses, while Kylie Jenner has come under fire more than once for wearing cornrows. Kendall
Jenner s Pepsi commercial, where she quelled a protest by offering a soda to a police officer, was
lambasted as offensive and tone deaf. These are the scenarios that the word appropriation brings to
mind: privileged young women and cultural insensitivity. In I Can t Stop Thinking through What
Other People are Thinking , David Shields describes a wholly different cast of appropriators: artists,
writers, and composers.
In his essay, Shields unleashes his frustrations regarding the country s negative attitude towards
appropriation and borrowing. He asserts that there s no such thing as originality , that all life on
earth...is built upon appropriation and reuse of the pre existing (Shields 736). Shields utilizes a
multitude of examples to illustrate and support his points. Musicians from Mozart to Bob Dylan have
utilized content or taken inspiration from other artists. Shields shows that borrowing has been with us
from the beginning , citing the New Testament and Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra as composites
of numerous sources (740). His essay demonstrates that borrowing is prevalent in music and writing,
as artists take inspiration from preceding artists and from their

Susan Sontag s The Allegory Of The Cave
When was the last time you looked at a photograph and actually thought to yourself Wow! I actually
fully understand the image I am currently viewing. ? If you haven t ever done that before then you are
with 99.99% of the population. However, if one views a well crafted and carefully planned photograph
they will actually honestly understand it. I qualify Susan Sontag s claim that All possibility of
understanding is rooted in the ability to say no. Strictly speaking, it is doubtful that a photograph can
help us to understand anything due to conflicting reasons. On one level, Sontag is correct because
when people view an image they look at it in an extremely basic and simple way without looking at it
from a different perspective. Most viewers wouldn t be able to see the real reason the photographer
has shot the photo. It would be the literary equivalent of someone reading The Allegory of the Cave
literally like a story about prisoners in cave staring at shadows instead of looking at the true meaning
of the analogy. Despite this, Sontag can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On paper it just looks like a fairly ordinary photograph of a young girl living in a developing country
but it goes much deeper. The contrasting colors and hues of her face, tattered clothes and eyes
displayed the hardships she went through without any words. Those hardships were from living in a
refugee camp and the death of her parents. Without any context besides that she was from Afghanistan
people were moved by the image and understood it so well that some people even volunteered at
refugee camps like the ones she lived in. The photograph proved that people can truly understand a
photograph if given an image of excellence. Photographer Margaret Bourke White further clarifies my
point by stating that documentary photography brings a viewer closer to the realities of

Military Tattoos
In an attempt to rectify this, some employers will hire people who do have tattoos and certain
piercings, usually ones that do not live big gaping holes exposed on your face when you take them
out, but will then ask them to cover up. A reasonable compromise, but it still feels like a censorship is
in the works at that point, but this is suitable for now in the movement. However in certain jobs
wearing a long sleeve shirt to cover up a tattoo sleeve can be harmful to the worker. Such situations
would be those who have to work in an outdoor environment during the sweltering summers, such as
my job with the city, but luckily I only have tattoos that are covered up by a short sleeved shirt.
And some of these businesses include areas of the police force and the military. Captain Mark
Strobridge of the Orange County Sheriff s stated, What we re seeing is a trend, with younger people
coming out of the military and they re getting more tattoos. We find highly qualified individuals, but
their appearance is not in keeping with grooming standards for law enforcement (Reed). And a dress
code brought in by the military and police force may very well be endangering the health of these
forces. Corporal John Park mark remarked that, We fought long and hard to get a ... Show more

Though it is understandable to want to implement a dress code, despite the censorship being implied
by this very notion, there is a certain way that all employers want their job to look like; furthermore,
certain jobs require attire for safety reasons and for identification purposes. For instance a police
officer must wear his uniform with badge and gear so he is easily identifiable to the public in the case
of an emergency. A fire fighter is the same way, but their uniform is also built for going into fires to
save individuals. The discrimination needs to stop

The Burkitt s lymphoma disease is the most common childhood cancer where malaria is
predominantly an epidemic. About10% of all malignant diseases in children under 15 years of age.
Disease is very common in those whose immune system is not functionally efficient. With the help of

(1) The observation and description of the lymphoma named after Dennis Burkitt in 1964 was a major
breakthrough in virology and in cancer research. It led to the discovery that all humans carry a DNA
virus that can transform B lymphocytes, named after its discoverers Epstein Barr Virus, (EBV) , this is
virus which causes glandular fever; however, the virus carrying state is mostly harmless. This is due to
two main aspects of the complex host virus and host cell and virus interactions. According to Epstein
The gene expressions strategy of the virus adjusts it to various cellular environments that together with
our immune response establish a finely poised balance of the virus carrying state, limiting the
proliferation of the virally infected cells. Activation of the c myc ontogeny by chromosomal
translocation is the key event in this malignancy. Burkitt lymphoma was called the Rosetta Stone of
EBV biology, and the stalking horse of cancer research. (2) Points discussed in the reviews touch on
the history of the discoveries of the lymphoma and of the virus, the expression types of the EBV
encoded proteins in cells with latent infection, the pivotal role and functional consequences of the
lg/myc translocation the success of immune surveillance, and the crippling of the major apoptotic

Pros And Cons Of Corn
It was in 1826 when French physician and dietitian Anthelme Brillat Savarin wrote, Dis moi ce que tu
manges, je te dirai ce que to es, Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Brillat Savarin
1825) If this idea that we are what we eat is true when what we are as Americans living in the United
States is corn. Corn is the largest commodity crop grown in the U.S., it is turned into the cheapest and
most consumed sweetener, high fructose corn syrup, it finds its way into 75% of the products in the
average grocery store, and unlike its ancestor from southern Mexico the corn we grow today has close
to zero nutritional value. It is estimated by the National Corn Growers Association that the average
American consumes 25 pounds of corn each year. When one thinks about corn consumption, they tend
to think about products such as sweet corn, corn flakes, popcorn, or corn oil. (National Corn Growers
Association) However corn is found in many more products such as, soda, candy, breakfast cereals,
yogurt, sauces, beef, chips and pretty much anything else you can find that is both sweet and cheap.
The hidden corn in our diet leaves the uniformed consumer at risk of serious health issues. The large
scale of corn production in the United States directly correlates with the unhealthy eating habits and
the alarming percentage of obesity in America. Corn is in nearly everything we eat and we don t even
know about it. Why do we grow so much corn in the U.S.? The answer is

The scope of the project gets defined in the work breakdown structure (WBS), where the schedules are planned, and resources are assigned; at which the project manager are more familiar and can estimate more precisely to an agreeable point with the customers. Schiff tells much about Cleopatra s life involving Mark Antony and Julius Caesar. Schiff ensures us that Cleopatra had one of the top educations from Alexandria. Caesar did not only stay in Egypt for Cleopatra s seductress ways, however Caesar wanted to get rein over his enemies. When Caesar was murdered, by a group of schemers, in the Roman Senate, his adopted great nephew Gaius Octavius was his only heir. Mark Antony thought he was heir to the Roman Empire but however, Caesar had different plans. Janet Suzman tells the story of how Shakespeare wrote the play about Cleopatra and Mark Antony. Suzman says Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is a horrific story of a formally mighty conqueror who is infatuated with the Queen of Egypt. Antony was so obsessed with Cleopatra and how she led him to his death. (Draycott, 38 44) Suzman said that Cleopatra and Antony had a horrible love story. Schiff tells the story of Cleopatra and Antony very similar to Suzman. However, Cleopatra and Antony s relationship had its problems. Schiff believed that Antony and Cleopatra had much in common. They were both left out of Caesar s will. Schiff also tells how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Analysis Of Pat Barker s Night When people think of war, there first instinct is to think about the physical pain soldiers have gone through, the physical demand of training before and during. What people miss is the mental trauma that affects soldiers during and after the war. In today s society it is much more acceptable to speak about mental health issues due to the war and we have established a term for it Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We have established many options for soldiers and families who are affected by PTSD. The two books that I am analyzing speak about the idea of mental health or war trauma during World War I and World War II, instead of calling it PTSD the authors call is shell shock, which is close to the definition of PTSD. The two books that I am analyzing is Pat Barker s Regeneration, which is focused on a mental institution and how soldiers deal with shell shock and many other internal struggles. The second is Elie Wiesel s book Night, which speaks about a family that is taken to a concentration camp and is dealing with the mental trauma that they experience and how they are forced to change the way they think and feel in order to survive. Both touch upon very similar themes when it comes to trauma and survival during and after the war. In Pat Barker s book Regeneration, he writes in a way that makes you feel a connection with either one or more of the characters in this book. He wants you as the reader to sympathize with each individual who is suffering from physical and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However the experiences that young adults seek today are quite different to those in previous decades.Mods, punks, rockers, flappers, hippies: there was a time when young people made their loyalties clear by the way they dressed. However, recently there have been talks and designs floating around about other methods to travel to space. Currently the technology and tools existing regarding space are seen as revolutionary and ahead of our time. However the possibility for even more advanced and efficient technology is within the grasp of humanity. We first launched a rocket to get to the moon in 1969, and since then the design for space rockets has varied slightly. The use of space shuttles was first introduced in 1981, and since then almost no changes have been made for space travel. In our world if you are not progressing, you are falling behind. We have been using dangerous and unreliable rockets for 47 years now. The recent explosion that occurred for the company SpaceX has highlighted our case and point. The current way to get into space is not only unreliable and dangerous, but it is also highly inefficient and expensive. The main focus in recent years is launching things into geostationary orbits, or orbits that stay in the same spot relative to the Earth. The cost to launch a rocket into a geostationary orbit is currently around 20,000 dollars per kilogram, which is an outrageous amount of money (http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/176625 60000 miles up geostationary space elevator could be built by 2035 says new study). Many people assume all beef cattle are kept outside in fields. But, this is not always the case. This paper is to serve to somewhat get a clearer picture of what really happens within a cattle slaughter house. In every phase of development within a factory slaughter farm, animals suffer needless changes and restricted, narrowed living conditions. Not only are the animals being affected by diseases or stress, but we too are being affected just as much. When the farms dump fesses on lands it will make its way into our water and air supply leaving behind pesticides and toxins affecting our immune systems. Scientists have linked animal stress to problems with food quality and safety (Animal Welfare). Like any human that suffers from stress and anxiety can be diagnosed with any sorts of illness, the same circumstances can happen to an animal when it is subjected to stress and pain, the animal is prone to disease and can produce lower quality meat, and milk. In this case the cattle being exposed to stress their milk and meat will have a lower quality. I personally have come face to face with a pig factory, which I do not believe it is any different from a cattle factory. Just being able to see firsthand what a slaughter house looks like is very sad. The pigs that were in the farm were mostly females, they lived in a pin that was big enough for the pig to stand up ... Usually wars have been fought traditionally: In terms of conventional, classic war, definitions are almost identical around the world: type of war where weapons of mass destruction are not used, only classical combat means, the fight is fought only by regular armed forces (Frunzet), called conventional warfare. It is the discipleship of children that propels believing teachers to devote their life to this vital ministry of Christian education. When it comes to the education of children, there are numerous fundamental factors, to mention a few: parents, teachers, the student himself, curriculum, methodology, culture, and the Holy Spirit. Students must first take responsibility for their own education and desire to learn. Even though this key educational factor is not a prerequisite for learning, all students must eventually hunger for learning or it will never take root in their lives. However the things people do can be labeled cause with a equal effect as well. Everyone has a set of choices that leads us to act. However these choices may depend on a different set of circumstances. Deciding how we should act and if thus action is by our free will. I like Aristotle believe that these actions be they voluntary or involuntary are a reflection of our morals based on our feelings and actions. Jean Paul Sartre expressed that as an individual we have both the freedom and responsibility to choose to act or not to act. thus there are no accidents in life.. could always get out of it by suicide or desertion; these ultimate possible are those which must always be present for us when there is a question of envisaging a situation. (Sartre 660 661). What he does cover is what if there is someone else life in danger. For example, a loved one. Aristotle believes that sometimes our actions may also be involuntary. But if it is to save the life of himself and his mates, any sensible person would do it. (Aristotle 647). Its these complications that allowed Jesse to selflessly go against his nature and voluntarily and involuntarily commit these acts. It s a fine line to say he freely committed the acts. When there were extenuating circumstances such as being held at gunpoint that inhibited his freedom and the freedom of others. • 30. Burkitt Lymphoma Essay Burkitt s lymphoma is a very aggressive form of B cell non Hodgkin lymphoma. The disease is related with Epstein Barr virus and was one of the first tumours shown to have a chromosomal translocation. The Burkitt s lymphoma disease is the most common childhood cancer where malaria is predominantly an epidemic. About10% of all malignant diseases in children under 15 years of age. Disease is very common in those whose immune system is not functionally efficient. With the help of intensive chemotherapy, children are in better health. On the other hand, children in third world countries are not as aggressive in treatment of Burkitt s lymphoma. The right prognosis helps doctors evaluate the initial steps of Burkitt s lymphoma. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (1) The observation and description of the lymphoma named after Dennis Burkitt in 1964 was a major breakthrough in virology and in cancer research. It led to the discovery that all humans carry a DNA virus that can transform B lymphocytes, named after its discoverers Epstein Barr Virus, (EBV) , this is virus which causes glandular fever; however, the virus carrying state is mostly harmless. This is due to two main aspects of the complex host virus and host cell and virus interactions. According to Epstein The gene expressions strategy of the virus adjusts it to various cellular environments that together with our immune response establish a finely poised balance of the virus carrying state, limiting the proliferation of the virally infected cells. Activation of the c myc ontogeny by chromosomal translocation is the key event in this malignancy. Burkitt lymphoma was called the Rosetta Stone of EBV biology, and the stalking horse of cancer research. (2) Points discussed in the reviews touch on the history of the discoveries of the lymphoma and of the virus, the expression types of the EBV encoded proteins in cells with latent infection, the pivotal role and functional consequences of the lg/myc translocation the success of immune surveillance, and the crippling of the major apoptotic pathways. • 32. Pros And Cons Of Corn It was in 1826 when French physician and dietitian Anthelme Brillat Savarin wrote, Dis moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai ce que to es, Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Brillat Savarin 1825) If this idea that we are what we eat is true when what we are as Americans living in the United States is corn. Corn is the largest commodity crop grown in the U.S., it is turned into the cheapest and most consumed sweetener, high fructose corn syrup, it finds its way into 75% of the products in the average grocery store, and unlike its ancestor from southern Mexico the corn we grow today has close to zero nutritional value. It is estimated by the National Corn Growers Association that the average American consumes 25 pounds of corn each year. When one thinks about corn consumption, they tend to think about products such as sweet corn, corn flakes, popcorn, or corn oil. (National Corn Growers Association) However corn is found in many more products such as, soda, candy, breakfast cereals, yogurt, sauces, beef, chips and pretty much anything else you can find that is both sweet and cheap. The hidden corn in our diet leaves the uniformed consumer at risk of serious health issues. The large scale of corn production in the United States directly correlates with the unhealthy eating habits and the alarming percentage of obesity in America. Corn is in nearly everything we eat and we don t even know about it. Why do we grow so much corn in the U.S.? The answer is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Suppose this station suddenly wants to transmit 1,000 bytes of data, and all other stations are idle at this time. As a function of SIFS and DIFS, and ignoring propagation delay and assuming no bit errors, calculate the time required to transmit the frame and receive the acknowledgment. A frame without data is 32 bytes long. Assuming a transmission rate of 11 Mbps, the time to transmit a control frame (such as RTS frame, a CTS frame, or an ACK frame) is (256 bits)/(11 Mbps) = 23 µsec. The time required to transmit the data frame is (8256 bits)/(11 Mbps) = 751 µsec. DIFS + RTS + SIFS + CTS + SIFS + FRAME + SIFS + ACK = DIFS + 3 SIFS + (3 · 23 + 751) µsec = DIFS + 3 SIFS + 820 µsec.
