Time Management Reflection
There are three things in running my unit that affects my team s success: my managerial effectiveness,
inspiring others, and developing leadership in employees. 1. Developing Managerial Effectiveness is
the challenge of developing the relevant skills such as time management, prioritization, strategic
thinking, decision making, and getting up to speed with the job to be more effective at work. 2.
Inspiring others is the challenge of inspiring or motivating others to ensure they are satisfied with their
jobs and working smarter. 3. Developing Employees is the challenge of developing others, including
mentoring and coaching. I may not have the same challenges of other company leaders but these three
in my service at Villanova seem to be the most effect on my workday. I have the unique opportunity to
have the job on campus that incorporates the tasks that require three different individuals to do the
things I am responsible for accomplishing. This is why my managerial effectiveness is important to
establishing a time management that drives my day. If I get caught up making sure all of the
management stuff gets done, I will lose sight of motivating others and developing my employees.
Admiral McRaven talked about changing the lives of 800 million people over the range of a

Direct Current (DC) Motors
1.0 Overview of DC Motors
A Direct Current (DC) motor is a broad classification of electric motors that operate from a direct
current (DC). Nearly all mechanical devices used in electric applications are powered by electric
motors. Motors transform electrical energy to mechanical energy. Thus, they are essential for energy
conversion in electrical machines. All types of electrical motors comprise a stationary field commonly
referred to as stator, and a rotating field (or rotor). According to Krishnan, (2010), the mechanism of
operation of DC motors is based on the interaction between electric current and the ... Show more

Rizzoni (2004) asserts that when electrical energy is supplied to the windings perpendicular to the
direction of the magnetic field, the flowing current and the magnetic field will interact. As a result,
mechanical energy will be produced by the magnetic field, leading to motion. Fleming s Left Hand
Rule can be used to determine the direction of the motion
Figure 1: Fleming s Left Hand Rule (Rizzoni, 2004) The direction of both the magnetic field and the
current are pointed by the first and second fingers respectively. The thumb indicates the direction in
which the conductor is pushed by effects of the magnetic field (Rizzoni, 2004).
1.3 Operation Principles of a DC Motor
In order to demonstrate the operating principles of a DC motor, this paper will focus on a coil
subjected to a magnetic field with a flux density of B (Hambley et al., 2008). When a D.C voltage is
supplied to the coil, it induces current to flow through the coil. The electric current and the magnetic
field will therefore interact and create a force that pushes the coil to move in the direction shown in
Figure 2 below.
Figure 2: Torque production in a DC motor (Hambley et al., 2008)
A practical DC motor comprises several coils wound on the rotor as shown in Figure 1. The coils are
aligned in the direction of the force that induces them to rotate. The current flowing in the coil is
directly proportional to the magnetic field produced as well as the rate

The Fundamental Issues Within The Romanian And Indian Culture
In this essay I will analyse the fundamental issues within the Romanian and Indian culture,
progressing then to understand the leadership that each culture creates and attracts. I will also present
a set of potential solutions for each of them individually, and for working together, as well as make
comparisons between my findings and Hofstede s.
Leadership in Romania is built upon the belief in a higher ordeal, therefore either on religion, or a
feeling of servitude towards God, or for the benefit of culture. The leadership that appeals to people
and motivates them to do more and be proactive, is the one that appeals to their inner sense of duty. If
that is lacking, the only second best option within the national Romanian culture is the military
leadership style. The later we have seen enforced for the past decades, and is defined by an
enforcement of power; this is at the other end of the spectrum to the desired assuming of power and
responsibility that duty is defined by, and Romanians so desire (Hurduzeu, 2015).
Regarding the above mentioned as true, there are two major solutions for bringing positive change in
Romania. People either learn how to draw their sense of purpose from their ongoing daily activities,
becoming leaders in their daily endeavours , and therefore live and act in a way that reflects their
sense and need of duty or they wait for a national leader to instill this sense into them. This polarity of
choice is described by our intermediate

The Importance Of Holidays In Francophone Cultures
The holidays in francophone cultures are Saint Jean Baptiste, Bastille day and Mardi Gras. These
holidays represent a special event where different people celebrate their own culture. Francophone
cultures in holiday should have more in Canada. People around the world celebrate their culture to
embrace who they are and what are they doing it for. Francophone cultures in holidays means different

celebrate there special day like Saint Jean Baptiste, la fete du prince and Jour des Aieux.
Saint Jean Baptiste is a French event where everyone in Quebec celebrates on a special day. On the
special day everyone in Quebec and Montreal would celebrate on June 24. On June 24 when everyone
celebrates they get together with there friends, relative, family etc. Many types of events would be
held in Saint Jean Baptiste that would like bonfire, children s entertainment, concerts, parades and
picnics. Saint Jean Batiste is known as many types that is la Saint Jean , St John the Baptist day, Fête
nationale du Québec and Quebec s National Holiday. These are many ways that Saint Jean Baptiste is
known as. All of Canada should be happy and proud to be celebrating its francophone roots,

Acute Real Failure
The diagnosis of acute renal failure (ARF), also referred to as acute kidney injury (AKI), encompasses
a wide ranging continuum of acute renal pathologies that are characterized by sudden deterioration of
kidney function. This results in abrupt aberrations in fluid, electrolyte, and acid base balance,
nitrogenous waste removal, creatinine clearance, and glomerular filtration rate. ARF or AKI is
subdivided into three general categories based on the etiology. Again, aging alone, without the
presence of any comorbidities, is associated with an increased susceptibility to ARF. This is due to
deterioration of renal blood flow with age and consequent decrease in glomerular filtration rate (GFR).
This is probably because, with these changes, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
intracellular potassium ion gradient is fundamental to the establishment of the resting membrane
potential in excitable cells (neurons and muscle cells) is necessary in order to appreciate how
hyperkalemia (excess extracellular K) disrupts this delicate balance. Because of the loss of this
potassium gradient, excitable cells become hypopolarized, and are therefore less responsive to stimuli
(action potentials). This results in muscle weakness and flaccid paralysis that progresses in an
ascending pattern. The main concern with hyperkalemia is its implication on the cardiac system
(Copstead Banasik, 2013). Hyperkalemia that exceeds 6.0 mEq/L can be fatal because of its
depressant effects on myocardial activity. This is demonstrated on an ECG tracing with the
disappearance of the P wave, extended T wave and QRS segment, and depressed ST segment. Should
this happen, the client is an emergent situation and immediate measures must be taken to reduce serum
potassium to prevent cardiac arrest (Osborn, et al. 2014). This patient s serum potassium was 6.1
mEq/L on arrival, which placed at an extremely high risk for cardiac dysfunction. He was immediately
given a combination of immediate and longer acting medications to lower his serum potassium

Pericles Foreign Policy Essay
You may not know who he is, but Pericles was by far one of the greatest leaders in history. Pericles s
methods of handling foreign policy were unusual, but very effective and he was able to save many
lives and help his citizens survive. Pericles was firm and unwavering in his method of tackling crime
and punishment so that crime was unknown during his rule. Pericles handled social issues very well
making drastic changes to the corrupt system of government and replacing it with better ways to lead.
Pericles was one of the greatest leaders of his time.
First off, Pericles s methods of handling foreign policy were unusual, but effective. If Pericles had the
choice between war, or peace, he would generally pick war. This is shown to be true because at a
certain point during his rule their was two wars at once. This shows that he would rather conquer cities
than be at peace with them. He was a very smart and strategic man which allowed him to save many
lives on the battlefield. At one point, he saved an entire city using his unique strategy. This shows that

quickly came back to power. He was overthrown but quickly was reinstated. This shows that while he
was disliked by some, they still needed his rule to keep the empire alive. Pericles s mother s father,
Cleisthenes, was a very harsh tyrant whom Pericles may have looked up to or admired. He may have

Slight injury: Is an injury of a minor character such as sprain (tug) (, bruise (discoloration), a cut or

II. Background
More than 1.2 million people are killed in road accidents, worldwide, and every year. Out of these 1.2
million, 90% occurred in low and middle income countries (Peden et al., 2004). Africa has the highest
fatality rate in relation to her population (28.3 per 100,000 populations. This Africa s rate is
substantially higher than motorized countries in the world, such as those in North America (12.1 to
16.2 per 100,000 populations) (Peden et al., 2004). For its 4 per cent of the world s motor vehicles, the
African road fatality share exceeds 10% of the total fatalities (GRSP, 2009; Jacobs, 2000). The road
traffic safety is becoming one of the tenth killers in developing countries, unlike the developed world,
where the proportion of vehicle population is almost 90% of the world.
In addition to death and injury, road accidents in low income and middle income countries have a
pronounced economic effect, with several countries spending between $65billion and $100billion
annually. These costs include loss of income and the burden placed on families to care for their injured
relative. A large factor in the high number of road accidents in these less developed countries is the
poor quality of the roads themselves, with cyclists,

Analysis Of Neil Fraser s The Golden Age
Theatre History Explained Neil Fraser outlines the history of theatre from Greek and Roman times, all
the way through the twentieth century. Fraser makes a claim that theatre truly began in Greek culture
with even the Roma s looking upon that time as the golden age . The Romans looked back on Greek
theatre of circa 600BC as a golden age, and we can still make a case for the great plays of that period
as having never been bettered. (Fraser, 2004, pg.5). Some of the more important highlights of this
book include the transformation of theatre as we view it today from what it originally looked like. It s
roots in Greek religious ceremonies progressing from a chorus of priests speaking all together in
unison to a solo voice being used as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These pageants gave birth to a new type of play called mystery or miracle cycles (Fraser, 2004). From
there Fraser concludes that the medieval theatrical genres eventually became outmoded or rather, grew
and developed into new ones. (Fraser, 2004, pg.45). From Medieval we turn to the Elizabethan stage
which is what most everyone thinks of in regards to theatre and performance art. In this stage we
begin to see a form of censorship and theatre becoming less and less involved with the church
(Fraser,2004). We also begin to see a change from outdoor theaters to the indoor theaters with
audience seated in front of a large rectangular stage and balconies to hold more affluent patrons
(Fraser, 2004).
The Shakespearean Stage 1574 1642 In the Elizabethan era, also known as the Shakespearean era, we
see less and less of plays drawing from the church and more of the strolling entertainers that roamed
from place to place performing. From strolling minstrels we move to professional entertainers in
repertory companies with significant financial backing (Gurr, 1970). The statute of 1572 required each
company to be authorized by one noble or two judicial dignitaries of the realm: (Gurr, 1970, pg.19).

A Review of Shakespeare s School Room
Shakespeare s Schoolroom, by Lynn Enterline, explores, ana lyzes, and discusses the methods used in
schools during Shake speare s time; these schools created the learning environment that shaped The
Bard s character and therefore his work. The major focus on Latin studies and translation resulted in
the ap pearance of the ancient Roman culture and mythology themes in many of Shakespeare s poems
and plays. This review explains the origins of specific works by describing particular teaching tac tics
present in Shakespeare s time. We learn how these teaching methods, combined with the social
expectations of young English boys, influenced both their behavior and their moral beliefs . This ...

Venus relentless pursuit of the beautiful youth (Adonis), represents some of the most disturbing
aspects of the relationship between adolescent boys and their schoolmasters . When Adonis resists
Venus s advances, claiming that he is too young to be physically involved with a woman, she responds
by insisting that it is her duty to in struct him in this part of life. Publicly spanking boys who
misbehaved or did not complete their lessons properly was commonplace in Shakespeare s era; of ten
teachers found it necessary to beat the lesson into the boys. Unfortunately, years later, psychologists
concluded that it was actually a sexual fetish for many of the teachers. This influ ence carried with the
future teachers who, unaware of their sub conscious drive, often inflicted the same punishments on
their students. Venus and Adonis story ends with Adonis accidental death when Venus sends a boar to
snuggle up to Adonis and one of the boar s tusks impales his groin. This manslaugh ter through an act
of passion symbolizes how adult desires can destroy innocence. In chapters four and five, we examine
how teachers ex posed school boys to literature , mainly ancient Roman. We see how teachers taugh t

Theodore Roosevelt s Role Model
Rumaysa Sharif
11/03/17
President Theodore Roosevelt is one of the most widely respected and popular figures in history. From
his childhood to adulthood, he is an example of great courage, strength, perseverance and success. He
once said, The only man who never makes mistakes is a man who never does anything. Despite
having a very weak body as a child, he never gave up on himself nor his dreams. He was quite the role
model for civilians during his time and even today. As the only president from New York City, his
childhood home is in downtown Manhattan. It is obvious that he lead a very wealthy life with a loving
family. His parents were very supportive and raised their children in an intellectually stimulating

would become weak very easily. His father said You have the mind, but not the body. Without the
health of the body, the mind cannot go as far as it should. You must make your body. Theodore replied
I will make my body! without any hesitation. Thus his father installed a gym on the second floor of
their home. He also took up boxing and became very strong and physically active. He served in the
Civil War, became an author, historian, explorer, statesman and conservationist. Theodore Roosevelt s
father, Franklin Roosevelt, was part of the Union and his mother, Martha Bulloch, was a Confederate.
However, his father did not want to serve in the war because it meant he would have to shoot his wife
s two brothers who were Confederate generals. Therefore, he did what many wealthy men did during
that time, and paid two men to take his place. Even though Theodore Roosevelt looked up to his
father, this impacted him in a very negative way. Some historians even analyzed that his father buying
men to take his place is what influenced him to becoming a soldier and gave him the determination to
prove that he was a good one. As a young child, Theodore and his family went on a lot of trips to
foreign countries. Exploring these countries had a huge

What Are Emerson s Views On Individualism
Emerson begins his major work on individualism by declaring the importance of thinking for oneself
instead of humbly acquiring someone else s belief. Emerson says, To believe that what is true in your
private heart is true for all men that is genius . The one who scorns personal intuition and, instead,
chooses to admit others opinions lacks the inventive power necessary for strong, fearless
individualism. Emerson says, Trust thyself, a saying that ties along this initial section of the essay.
This simply resembles to believe others judgments is poor spirited, with no inspiration or hope. An
individual with dignity, exhibits originality and is childish unspoiled by egoistic desires but mature.

Religion s main drawback is its worry of individual creativeness. Emerson s criticism of society, and
particularly its misguided notion of progress, differs from his earlier comments on the topic. He
debates that society does not essentially improve from material changes, as an example, advances in
technology lead to the loss of some sorts of wisdom: The one that incorporates a watch loses the
flexibility to inform time by the sun s position in the sky. Thesis: Are self reliance and being
independent two sides of the same coin? This question is more like a debatable topic where different
individual have their own perspectives and views. The first objective mentioned above deals with self
reliance and the second mentioned below matches the contradictions of independence together with
self reliance. There is a clear space of overlapping however independence is regarding decision
making within the condition you are in, whereas self reliance concerns management of the resources
necessary to support significant independence. Over the past few years self reliance has decreased
remarkably throughout the world with the increase in dependencies of individuals on others and
entities. Individuals are getting more and more cross dependant and reliable on support either in
materialistic or moralistic means. Finally to be self reliant one need to do things metaphorically and

I believe that my students should feel comfortable to have their say and be in charge, to an extent of
their learning. Students should be flourishing and growing in their classrooms, not being hounded and
manipulated to conforming to the teachers beliefs. How this applies to my classroom management
approach: For students to become ethical people, as opposed to people who do merely what they are
told, we cannot just tell them what to do. We have to guide and support these students to figure this
out for themselves so they can learn from each other. Whenever possible, simply ignore the covert
hostility of a student. By ignoring the behaviour, you will diffuse the situation. Remember, what you
really want is for the student to comply with your request. Whether or not the student does it in an
angry manner is not the issue. (Assertive discipline approach, 2008) I believe that this strategy of
classroom behaviour management does not suit, or compliment my beliefs as a teacher. I believe the
students should feel comfortable and supported in their learning environment and I feel as though
assertive discipline does not allow for this. I can see the positives that could arise from a management
plan such as this, but to punish children for making natural childhood mistakes is to punish them for
being children. 2. Applied Behaviour Analysis Characteristics

For mobility, private cars can, most probably, help to reach where public transportation is not
available. What s more, it s more comfortable in a private car than in a bus, because you don t have to
tolerate the irritation caused by the bad smell or the confined space, especially at peak hours. Superior
as the above mentioned points are, nevertheless, public transportation also has attractions of its own.
Public transportation is much more environmental friendly compared to private cars, it doesn t
produce that much exhaust gas. Also, undoubtedly, you won t be frustratingly confronted with the
petroleum price hovering at a high level, the heavy tax and the auto insurance. Moreover, public
transportation makes great contribution to a lower rate of accidents than private cars, so why not
choose it? Here is the website http://www.rtcsnv.com/transit/fare information/ where provide
information about the public transportation RTC Las Vegas. Students can use app to schedule their

My Home Congregation Of Beautiful Savior
I chose to evaluate my home congregation of Beautiful Savior in Omaha, which was an interesting
challenge. Having grown up in the church as the son of a DCE (now a pastor) there, I was already
pretty familiar with the educational opportunities provided, but it was interesting to take a much
deeper look at it and evaluate the shortcomings as well. The Dirt on Learning offered a strong basis
for the critique of educational ministry from the perspective of the parable of the sower, making
parallels with how it relates directly to education. Beautiful Savior is a unique church in the LCMS. It
is a large, contemporary, and progressive church that is pushing the boundaries of ministry in some
areas (as well as pushing the buttons of some people in the synod). The overall sense that I got from
the time I spent observing, interviewing, and teaching is that a lot of the different ministries blur
together and there is a bit of a Beautiful Savior bubble. Being a large church, it is easy for people to
blend in to the crowd and not go deeper than attending a service on Sundays. Having spoken with the
three DCE s on staff, the all had very similar things to say regarding this.
A few quotes from the DCEs attribute educational struggles to people who just don t want to get
involved. People have a natural resistance to anything that threatens their comfort zone. People are too
busy [to get involved in educational programs], said Jim Haack, DCE.

The East India Company
The East India Company was a British joint stock company establish on the 31st of December, 1600
under the original name The Company of Merchants of London trading into the East Indies. Over the
next hundreds of years the Company set a sail attempting to find riches in trade on their journeys to
these new lands. They found value in crops such as indigo, salt, cotton, silk, opium and other cash
crops that the barren land of Europe lacked. This would be the company that would set sail to the land
of India and dominate its soil from the middle of 1700 s to the middle of the 1800 s. In a little over
fifty years the East India Company was transformed from a body of traders controlling a scattered
group of commercial settlements round the coasts of India into the rulers of provinces with a
population popularly supposed in Britain to contain fifty or sixty million inhabitants. The Company
was able to find its growth and power from wealthy merchants and aristocrats that would invest their
money into the Company after seeing how successful they were becoming. A healthy amount of these
wealthy investors were part of the British Parliament. This intertwined government views and beliefs
with the business side of views and beliefs. With more and more backing though, the Company slowly
grew a ship or two every now and then until they were a full fleet of trade ships moving massive
amounts of crops. Colonies were eventually set up and the land was taken for the new Englishmen,

What Caused The Great Recession Of 2007 And 2009
Many factors directly lead and indirectly caused the great recession of 2007 and 2009. The financial
crisis happened because banks were able to create too much money to fast and used it to increase
house prices faster than wages. They increased the amount of money and debt in the economy.
Eventually, the debts became unpayable and the banks saw themselves in danger of bankruptcy where
people could not repay them and limited their spending. A downward spiral begins and the economy
heads into recession. Using the aggregate demand and aggregate supply model you can see a decrease
in aggregated demand, which causes a recession involving a decline in price level. This caused less
investment and consumer spending which then causes less demand and

Donald Trump s View On Immigration
President elect Donald Trump launched his presidential bid discussing immigration reform. Strict
immigration policies quickly became the forefront of his campaign and he says it will also be the

simply a feeble attempt to appear more presidential and diplomatic rather than an actual evolution of
thought or even an attempt to be realistic.
When Mexico sends its people, they re not sending their best. ... They re sending people that have lots

Greenblatt And Dykstr Concert Analysis
It s been 15 years since classically trained pianist and actor Richard Greenblatt blew Toronto
audiences away with Soft Pedalling, his one man show that toured Canada for two years; and it s been
nine years since Ted Dykstra caused a sensation at the keyboards in Paul Ledoux and David Young s
evangelical rock musical, Fire (though less than one since Dykstra s exquisite rendering of oily Cousin
Kevin in the Toronto production of Tommy ).
For those who recall these performances, as well as Greenblatt s writing and directing expertise, there
was never any doubt that 2 Pianos 4 Hands would be worthy. But the extent to which this
collaborative project succeeds in engaging audiences is a surprised even to the fans of the talented
duo.
For one thing, it s the first time Greenblatt and Dykstra have unleashed the full force of their classical
music training on Canada s theatre community (the show tours the country until May 1997); they end

Deck Railing
Choosing the Right Style in Deck Railing
Whether you are building a new deck or just remodeling your old one, it is important to chose the
right style for your design. When choosing your new wrought iron deck railings it is important to keep
size, style, function, and safety all in mind. As these four things are the most important aspects to
consider. Below you will find more information that might help you better decide which railing to go
with.
Choosing A Style
Railings come in several different styles. Therefore, you need to consider the style home you have
before you choose your iron railing. You don t want to have a modern railing if you house is an old
Victorian. The same goes for the opposite as well. You won t want to go with a classic design if you
have a newer modern home. You want to have a seamless look. That is why wrought iron railing ...

The railings is what keeps people in and people out. If you are trying to prevent entrance on and off of
your deck you might look into getting a high railing instead of a short one which is mainly used as a
side rail. However, side rails are great for those who are just wanting some type of basic railing around
their deck. Railing height is solely a personal opinion. Think about what you want out of your railing
in order to figure out which height you will need.
Think About Safety
One of the great things about wrought iron railing is it comes in a varieties of sizes and options.
Therefore it can be pretty custom to your wishes. If you have a family, or little ones around at all, you
need to take their safety into consideration. As with all railing wrought iron has gaps between each
rail, you will want to make sure that this railing is close enough together that little heads can t get
stuck in the sections. Wrought iron can also contain a locking mechanism so that kids can t get to the
stairs. These are a few things to remember when taking safety into consideration.

Bohemian Rhapsody Research Papers
Freddie Mercury, lead singer of the rock band Queen, was a man who desired to live life to its fullest,
as he once proclaimed, The most important thing, darling, is to live a fabulous life. As long as it s
fabulous, I don t care how long it is (Freddie). However, while Mercury reveled in showmanship,
often surrounded by rumors of extravagance, he was also a fiercely private person. The singer and
songwriter, whose real name was Farrokh Bulsara, struggled with a secret that tortured his soul.
Having grown up in a devout Zoroastrian home, Mercury knew what admitting he was a homosexual

then said his goodbyes to the loved ones he left behind because he knew he had to move on regardless

(Queen). Within the last two verses of the song, the listener hears a distinct change in the attitude of
Freddie Mercury. Queen no longer uses soft, low tones to convey sadness and regret. Mercury now
sounds powerful and angry and the corresponding lyrics match this new attitude. In a powerful and
almost explosive tone, Mercury declares, So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye (Queen).
Within this passage, Mercury speaks directly to those who would judge and condemn him for his

A Research Study On Bone Regeneration
Decades ago, numerous studies toke place on bone growth and healing with the use of guided bone
regeneration concepts. Bone has been considered as the one tissue with the greatest potential for
regeneration among the many tissue in the body. A long time ago in 1889 senn reported that the
present of decalcified bone could encourage healing of the bone defects (170). Guided bone
regeneration is frequently used the same concept for hard tissue reconstruction (128, 171, 172). The
treatment concept includes the application of occlusive membranes for the regeneration of osseous
defects. The membrane induce osteogenic cell population coming from the parent bone tissue by
excluding the non osteogenic cell population from the surrounding soft tissues, thereby inhibit the
osseous wound (173 176). Actually, the placement of mechanical membranes over the jaw bone
defects resulted in effective results in rabbits (177) and over cranial defects in rats (178). Therefore,
guided bone regeneration (GBR) was introduced as a therapeutic modality aiming to achieve bone
regeneration, via the use of barrier membranes (87).
The introduction of biodegradable membranes limits the drawback of non resorbable one but also the
use of traditional biodegradable plates and screws have some disadvantages including poor
mechanical stability, difficulty handling properties, and time consuming fixation. So the introduction
of PDLLA (poly L, D lactic acid) copolymers had been developed to resolve these

Media and The Agenda Setting Theory
According to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, section 11d, the accused is to be
presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law in a fair and public hearing by an independent
and impartial tribunal (Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, 1982). Despite the right to one s
innocence preceding a fair and public trial, the indicted typically receives mass media coverage,
making the individual susceptible to the opinion s of the public. This is especially true in the case of a
renowned individual, such as a celebrity or politician. The media s coverage of the news, prior to a fair
hearing, results in public scrutiny of subjects. Media involvement generates public uproar, frequently
resulting in the condemning of the accused preceding their right to a fair trial as stated in the Canadian
Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Not only is an individual s right, according to the charter, to be
presumed innocent jeopardized by the media but also their assumed right to a private life is put into
question.
Agenda Setting Theory
Agenda Setting Theory refers to the media s ability to influence the significance of topics to the
public. Agenda setting allows for the establishment of public awareness to issues made relevant by
media. There are two assumptions underlying the agenda setting theory (McCombs Shaw, 1972).
Firstly, the media s portrayal of an event does not necessarily reflect reality; rather the media filters
and shapes the news. Secondly, the infiltration of

(Remington, 2014).
Competitive Rivalry In the industry, competition is high in most areas of the United States. There are
usually two to three Supermarkets in a given location depending on the population. Whole Foods has
an advantage with the organic and natural food buying trends, but many other businesses in the
industry such as Kroger, Costco, etc. have taken notice to the trend.
Threat of Substitution Whole Foods Market has a great selection of natural and organic foods trending
previously mentioned. The threat of substitution is high though. One reason this is true is due to the
superstores such as Wal Mart and Target. Consumers can go to those stores to have a one store
shopping experience for everything from food to clothing. Also, though the revenue in the industry,
mostly goes to the top 50 stores, there still exists local markets and farmers that communities would

Poetic Analysis Of The Song Graceland By Paul Simon
Poetic Analysis of Paul Simon s Graceland In the realm of music, words and melodies work together
in order to form a complete idea of an artist s work. However, by abandoning the melodies and
reading closely into the lyrics of a song, readers are able to draw meaning and make observations from
the text that could be overshadowed by its melodies. A fine example of a song where this method is
applicable is Paul Simon s Graceland. Examining the lyrics reveals the story of a man making a
pilgrimage to Elvis Presley s Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee in the same way a religious
person would journey to a holy site. Through usage of imagery, tone, and metaphorical devices

Graceland! Memphis, Tennessee! Graceland is described as a place welcoming of people from
different walks of life, indicated by, Poorboys and Pilgrims with families / And we are going to
Graceland, (10 11). Here, the comically surreal notion of Graceland as a holy site is introduced with
tourists making pilgrimages to the estate with their families, with the hopes that they will take
something morally significant away from their journey. The narrator then reveals that, as a pilgrim to
Graceland, he too has a family he brings with him, My travelling companion is nine years old / He is

relationship with the child s mother, leaning towards the possibility that the narrator hopes to rekindle
a relationship with the child through their pilgrimage to Graceland, or that he is raising the child on his
own and sharing a road trip with him. He then says, But I ve reason to believe / We both will be
received / In Graceland, creating a hopeful tone sonically through the rhymes of believe and receive ,
which is contradicted by the ambiguous diction which alludes to the possibility that they could not be

Lab Report On Gram Negative Bacteria
In this experiment individuals were given a plate with two unknown specimens. Each group
completed a gram stain followed by a series of other test in order to identify the unknown bacteria.
Each student conducted separate testing s on one unknown in order to specifically identify the strain.
Materials and Methods
First and foremost the gram stain is conducted to differentiate gram positive bacteria from gram
negative bacteria due to their cell structure. The thick layer of peptidoglycan in gram positive bacteria
allows the crystal violet dye to retain a purple color, whereas, the thin peptidoglycan in gram negative
bacteria is decolorized and counter stained with safranin red in order to be viewed in the microscope.
(1) The gram stain procedure begins with a clean slide and a sterile loop. A drop of water is applied to
the slide followed by a pinhead size of unknown bacteria. The slide air dries and then is heat fixed
with a Bunsen burner. Subsequently, the crystal violet is applied to the smear, followed by the
mordant, Gram s iodine. Next, the decolorizer is applied then washed. Finally safranin is applied to
the smear and also washed. The slide is blot dried with bibulous paper and ready for the microscope.
However, to ensure a good visual, oil immersion is applied to increase the resolution. Following the
gram stain is the catalase test, which is utilized to determine if a specimen is streptococcus or
staphylococcus. A sample of bacteria is placed on a slide and combined with a few drops of peroxide.
For further testing, a blood agar plate is inoculated for rapid identification methods for Streptococcus.
Each strain of Strep. is sensitive to only one test on the rapid I.D method, therefore enabling a process
of elimination. The procedure is as follows, forty percent of the unknown is applied to the top portion
of the agar. Subsequently, three antibiotic discs, Bacitracin A disc, Optochin P disc, and SXT disc are
situated along the unknown bacteria. Afterwards, a horizontal line of Staph. Aureus is drawn along the
bottom of the agar. Next, a vertical line is drawn from the unknown bacteria to top of the Staph.

shortly after, they were married. In his later years, the man just couldn t have a lick of good luck,
every time he tried to work out, to stay in an athlete s physical condition, life just kept beating the man
down. Becoming blind in one eye, having to walk with a cane, pulling muscle after muscle, nothing
could go right. In his run for his third term, he sadly met his unfortunate fate in his sleep, on January

One easily identified feature in the Sikh temple was the way alter was set up with special lights and
decoration. I have seen this sort of set up in many Indian movies, and also in Hindu temples. The
Hindu temples have pretty much the same style for the temple alter but the only difference is instead
of Sikh holy book we have statues of Gods instead. The second identifiable feature was the Kara
Parshad given at the end of the service. This is very important part to visitors visiting the Sikh temple
as very one waited patiently for their turn to get the kara parshad and in Hindu temple the parshad is
also offered at the end of prayers as well. The other identifiable feature was the pictures of ... Show

Why do they do Chaur on the holy book? Why do they put the holy book on a bed? I was really
confused why someone would stand behind the holy book for an hour doing the chaur (fan), to my just
didn t make any since at all. So this was my second question to the volunteer. He said this is done to
express their regards and respect for the Holy Scripture, the one True King. The king commanded the
greatest power, there for was given the maximum respect and honor in the olden days. Guru Nanak
(the first guru) said that the true kings are those who love God and help others to do that as well. They
are the rulers of people s heart. These political kings are temporary kings and their authority ends
when they meet their death. But the Gurus are the true kings and they teach Truth and rule our hearts.
The Guru Granth Sahib (the holy book) is the embodiment of the spirit of all the Sikh Gurus and many
other holy men whose hymns are included in it. The holy book is concerted as the last Guru. We
respect them as the true kings. The king sat on throne under a canopy and he used to have a fan like
structure to be waved over his head as a symbol of his royalty and his power. The Guru Granth Sahib,
being the true emperor is provided all these magnificence personal belongings in the Gurdwara. They
install the scripture on a throne (called Manji Sahib) with pillows around for supporting it. A Chanani

  • 2. Time Management Reflection There are three things in running my unit that affects my team s success: my managerial effectiveness, inspiring others, and developing leadership in employees. 1. Developing Managerial Effectiveness is the challenge of developing the relevant skills such as time management, prioritization, strategic thinking, decision making, and getting up to speed with the job to be more effective at work. 2. Inspiring others is the challenge of inspiring or motivating others to ensure they are satisfied with their jobs and working smarter. 3. Developing Employees is the challenge of developing others, including mentoring and coaching. I may not have the same challenges of other company leaders but these three in my service at Villanova seem to be the most effect on my workday. I have the unique opportunity to have the job on campus that incorporates the tasks that require three different individuals to do the things I am responsible for accomplishing. This is why my managerial effectiveness is important to establishing a time management that drives my day. If I get caught up making sure all of the management stuff gets done, I will lose sight of motivating others and developing my employees. Admiral McRaven talked about changing the lives of 800 million people over the range of a generation. Tom Peters talked about not allowing organization to strangle you. Jeff Immelt talked about productivity and cost which affects my business and is key to our success. Leaders have to promote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Direct Current (DC) Motors Student s Name University Course Code Date of Submission Direct Current (DC) Motors 1.0 Overview of DC Motors A Direct Current (DC) motor is a broad classification of electric motors that operate from a direct current (DC). Nearly all mechanical devices used in electric applications are powered by electric motors. Motors transform electrical energy to mechanical energy. Thus, they are essential for energy conversion in electrical machines. All types of electrical motors comprise a stationary field commonly referred to as stator, and a rotating field (or rotor). According to Krishnan, (2010), the mechanism of operation of DC motors is based on the interaction between electric current and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rizzoni (2004) asserts that when electrical energy is supplied to the windings perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field, the flowing current and the magnetic field will interact. As a result, mechanical energy will be produced by the magnetic field, leading to motion. Fleming s Left Hand Rule can be used to determine the direction of the motion Figure 1: Fleming s Left Hand Rule (Rizzoni, 2004) The direction of both the magnetic field and the current are pointed by the first and second fingers respectively. The thumb indicates the direction in which the conductor is pushed by effects of the magnetic field (Rizzoni, 2004). 1.3 Operation Principles of a DC Motor In order to demonstrate the operating principles of a DC motor, this paper will focus on a coil subjected to a magnetic field with a flux density of B (Hambley et al., 2008). When a D.C voltage is supplied to the coil, it induces current to flow through the coil. The electric current and the magnetic field will therefore interact and create a force that pushes the coil to move in the direction shown in Figure 2 below. Figure 2: Torque production in a DC motor (Hambley et al., 2008) A practical DC motor comprises several coils wound on the rotor as shown in Figure 1. The coils are aligned in the direction of the force that induces them to rotate. The current flowing in the coil is directly proportional to the magnetic field produced as well as the rate ... The Fundamental Issues Within The Romanian And Indian Culture In this essay I will analyse the fundamental issues within the Romanian and Indian culture, progressing then to understand the leadership that each culture creates and attracts. I will also present a set of potential solutions for each of them individually, and for working together, as well as make comparisons between my findings and Hofstede s. Leadership in Romania is built upon the belief in a higher ordeal, therefore either on religion, or a feeling of servitude towards God, or for the benefit of culture. The leadership that appeals to people and motivates them to do more and be proactive, is the one that appeals to their inner sense of duty. If that is lacking, the only second best option within the national Romanian culture is the military leadership style. The later we have seen enforced for the past decades, and is defined by an enforcement of power; this is at the other end of the spectrum to the desired assuming of power and responsibility that duty is defined by, and Romanians so desire (Hurduzeu, 2015). Regarding the above mentioned as true, there are two major solutions for bringing positive change in Romania. People either learn how to draw their sense of purpose from their ongoing daily activities, becoming leaders in their daily endeavours , and therefore live and act in a way that reflects their sense and need of duty or they wait for a national leader to instill this sense into them. This polarity of choice is described by our intermediate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This results in abrupt aberrations in fluid, electrolyte, and acid base balance, nitrogenous waste removal, creatinine clearance, and glomerular filtration rate. ARF or AKI is subdivided into three general categories based on the etiology. Again, aging alone, without the presence of any comorbidities, is associated with an increased susceptibility to ARF. This results in muscle weakness and flaccid paralysis that progresses in an ascending pattern. The main concern with hyperkalemia is its implication on the cardiac system (Copstead Banasik, 2013). This Africa s rate is substantially higher than motorized countries in the world, such as those in North America (12.1 to 16.2 per 100,000 populations) (Peden et al., 2004). The road traffic safety is becoming one of the tenth killers in developing countries, unlike the developed world, where the proportion of vehicle population is almost 90% of the world. In addition to death and injury, road accidents in low income and middle income countries have a pronounced economic effect, with several countries spending between $65billion and $100billion annually. Fraser makes a claim that theatre truly began in Greek culture with even the Roma s looking upon that time as the golden age . The Romans looked back on Greek theatre of circa 600BC as a golden age, and we can still make a case for the great plays of that period as having never been bettered. (Fraser, 2004, pg.5). From Medieval we turn to the Elizabethan stage which is what most everyone thinks of in regards to theatre and performance art. In this stage we begin to see a form of censorship and theatre becoming less and less involved with the church (Fraser,2004). Having grown up in the church as the son of a DCE (now a pastor) there, I was already pretty familiar with the educational opportunities provided, but it was interesting to take a much deeper look at it and evaluate the shortcomings as well. The Dirt on Learning offered a strong basis for the critique of educational ministry from the perspective of the parable of the sower, making parallels with how it relates directly to education. Beautiful Savior is a unique church in the LCMS. It is a large, contemporary, and progressive church that is pushing the boundaries of ministry in some areas (as well as pushing the buttons of some people in the synod). The overall sense that I got from the time I spent observing, interviewing, and teaching is that a lot of the different ministries blur together and there is a bit of a Beautiful Savior bubble. • 33. A Research Study On Bone Regeneration Decades ago, numerous studies toke place on bone growth and healing with the use of guided bone regeneration concepts. Bone has been considered as the one tissue with the greatest potential for regeneration among the many tissue in the body. A long time ago in 1889 senn reported that the present of decalcified bone could encourage healing of the bone defects (170). Guided bone regeneration is frequently used the same concept for hard tissue reconstruction (128, 171, 172). The treatment concept includes the application of occlusive membranes for the regeneration of osseous defects. The membrane induce osteogenic cell population coming from the parent bone tissue by excluding the non osteogenic cell population from the surrounding soft tissues, thereby inhibit the osseous wound (173 176). Actually, the placement of mechanical membranes over the jaw bone defects resulted in effective results in rabbits (177) and over cranial defects in rats (178). Therefore, guided bone regeneration (GBR) was introduced as a therapeutic modality aiming to achieve bone regeneration, via the use of barrier membranes (87). The introduction of biodegradable membranes limits the drawback of non resorbable one but also the use of traditional biodegradable plates and screws have some disadvantages including poor mechanical stability, difficulty handling properties, and time consuming fixation. Media and The Agenda Setting Theory According to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, section 11d, the accused is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law in a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal (Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, 1982). Despite the right to one s innocence preceding a fair and public trial, the indicted typically receives mass media coverage, making the individual susceptible to the opinion s of the public. This is especially true in the case of a renowned individual, such as a celebrity or politician. The media s coverage of the news, prior to a fair hearing, results in public scrutiny of subjects. Media involvement generates public uproar, frequently resulting in the condemning of the accused preceding their right to a fair trial as stated in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Not only is an individual s right, according to the charter, to be presumed innocent jeopardized by the media but also their assumed right to a private life is put into question. Agenda Setting Theory Agenda Setting Theory refers to the media s ability to influence the significance of topics to the public. Agenda setting allows for the establishment of public awareness to issues made relevant by media. There are two assumptions underlying the agenda setting theory (McCombs Shaw, 1972). Poetic Analysis Of The Song Graceland By Paul Simon Poetic Analysis of Paul Simon s Graceland In the realm of music, words and melodies work together in order to form a complete idea of an artist s work. However, by abandoning the melodies and reading closely into the lyrics of a song, readers are able to draw meaning and make observations from the text that could be overshadowed by its melodies. A fine example of a song where this method is applicable is Paul Simon s Graceland. Here, the comically surreal notion of Graceland as a holy site is introduced with tourists making pilgrimages to the estate with their families, with the hopes that they will take something morally significant away from their journey. The narrator then reveals that, as a pilgrim to Graceland, he too has a family he brings with him, My travelling companion is nine years old / He is the child of my first marriage, (12 13). The diction here is indicative that the narrator is no longer in a relationship with the child s mother, leaning towards the possibility that the narrator hopes to rekindle a relationship with the child through their pilgrimage to Graceland, or that he is raising the child on his own and sharing a road trip with him. He then says, But I ve reason to believe / We both will be received / In Graceland, creating a hopeful tone sonically through the rhymes of believe and receive , which is contradicted by the ambiguous diction which alludes to the possibility that they could not be received in Graceland ... Each group completed a gram stain followed by a series of other test in order to identify the unknown bacteria. Each student conducted separate testing s on one unknown in order to specifically identify the strain. Materials and Methods First and foremost the gram stain is conducted to differentiate gram positive bacteria from gram negative bacteria due to their cell structure. The thick layer of peptidoglycan in gram positive bacteria allows the crystal violet dye to retain a purple color, whereas, the thin peptidoglycan in gram negative bacteria is decolorized and counter stained with safranin red in order to be viewed in the microscope. (1) The gram stain procedure begins with a clean slide and a sterile loop. A drop of water is applied to the slide followed by a pinhead size of unknown bacteria. The slide air dries and then is heat fixed with a Bunsen burner. Subsequently, the crystal violet is applied to the smear, followed by the mordant, Gram s iodine. Next, the decolorizer is applied then washed. Finally safranin is applied to the smear and also washed. The slide is blot dried with bibulous paper and ready for the microscope. However, to ensure a good visual, oil immersion is applied to increase the resolution. Following the gram stain is the catalase test, which is utilized to determine if a specimen is streptococcus or staphylococcus. A sample of bacteria is placed on a slide and combined with a few drops of peroxide. For further testing, a blood agar plate is inoculated for rapid identification methods for Streptococcus. Each strain of Strep. is sensitive to only one test on the rapid I.D method, therefore enabling a process of elimination. The procedure is as follows, forty percent of the unknown is applied to the top portion of the agar.
