Examples Of Narrative Essay About Military Life
It s incredible how throughout the course of nine weeks you can take an individual from a civilian to a
squared away soldier. From the pushups on the scorching rocks, having parties at the beach also
known as the marvelous sand pit to making friendships that would last a lifetime the military has truly
been a life altering experience. It s taught me how to triumph over adversity, to forget fear and that
anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Those nine weeks of vigorous work, pain, and an
immense amount of stress was completely worth it. Get off my bus, lets go. Get moving you pathetic

other events such as maneuvering your way through ropes at high altitudes, climbing over walls or
swinging onto a platform. I particularly remember the obstacle in which you had to hang upside down
and make your way down an inclined rope. I was terrified because of the way the rope was slanted
downward so I just closed my eyes. I was halfway through when Drill Sergeant Sanchez began
shouting and shaking the rope. Open your eyes Private! What if you re out in the war zone. You re just
going to be walking around with your eyes closed because you re scared? At that point I realized he
was right. Was I just expecting to make it through training with my eyes closed? I had to forget about
how scared I was and carry on with what I had to do. Once I got to the platform I thought that there
would for sure be some push ups waiting for me, but I was wrong. Private, do you really think that
you re cut out to be a soldier if you face your fears with your eyes closed? No Private! You have to

Mitigation Of The Land Environment

Health Information Technology For Economic And Clinical...
In the past, our healthcare distribution system predicated its payments solely on the number of
accommodations provided and not on the quality of care distributed to patients. As a result, patients
might receive redundant tests, medication errors, or accommodations that might not ameliorate their
health and may cost them more in copayments or coinsurance. As required by the Affordable Care Act,
Health and Human Services (HHS) launched several initiatives to link payments more proximately
with quality outcomes and promote value predicated care. These reforms promote value over volume
and ascertain that care is better coordinated across the healthcare distribution system (Health IT,
2013). As a result the government is looking to influence innovation and best practices to enhance
administration, quality and patient engagement, while securing protection and minimizing expenses
(Nir Menachemi and Taleah H. Collum, 2011). This influential innovation is in direct response to the
Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009. Therefore
in this paper one will evaluate the current state of the infrastructure in workflow and processes;
identify the existing gaps and issues within the environment, provide solutions for improvement in
association with the present gaps zero cost and limitless budget, and recognize current technology that
can change the current health care infrastructure. This evaluation will display the current state of the

Analysis Of The Reconstruction Of Europe After World War...
Sometime during June 1947, George C. Marshall wrote a proposal for the United States to help in the
reconstruction of Europe after World War II. This document is intended for the Europeans whose
country was affected by the war and needs help rebuilding. The purpose of this document is so that the
Europeans could collectively agree as to what type of aid they need.
The document begins with an introduction as to how difficult the problems are in Europe and how it
may be hard for the citizens to adjust since they aren t used to living the lives of people in
unprosperous countries. Because of the war, many businesses, cities, factories, mines, and railroads
were destroyed causing Europe s economy to suffer. This is a severe problem that s now plaguing
Europe which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The war also affected the division of labor, causing citizens to produce less food and goods. Although
they cannot pay for it, Europe will undoubtedly need food and other essentialities from America. The
confidence of the European people must be restored to secure the economic future of their countries
and continent. The United States economy influences the world s economy and vice versa, which is
why America is compelled to offer its aid in order to fix the world s economic health; this assistance
cannot be a temporary fix, it should be long lasting or permanent. The U.S. will offer its help to any
European country that needs it, so long as the country doesn t block the recovery of other
governments. There will be conflict with the U.S. if groups or governments begin to spread human
misery for profit. Before the American government starts helping in the recovery of Europe, the

Images of Women in Sports Essay
Images of Women in Sports
There is, of course, a huge difference between the ways women are typically supposed to act and what
is expected from a typical athlete. Whereas women are expected to comply to their gender role
prescribing passivity and compliance, athletes are connoted with an aggressive, competitive nature.
Furthermore, society trains women to be ashamed of their bodies and supplies an unrealistic ideal
body type and encourages restricting feminine clothing, whereas athletes must have a keen
understanding and appreciation of their bodies. In this way, athletes are implicitly coded as male.
Though women and men can both be great athletes, of course, gender roles limit the social image and
expectations for individuals based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a woman can still be subject to and controlled by the male gaze (that Laura Mulvey and so many
other art historians have written about), she is not a threat to the status quo and male power. According
to this theory of the gaze, the male protagonist in a film is generally used as for the presumably male
viewer to project his own desire of control over the female image. Through the onscreen male s gaze,
the woman s image may be appropriated and the viewer may have the illusion of control over the
woman. In these films, then, the woman, though she is seemingly in control of her own body and
image through her character in the film, is still ideologically subjected to male control.
Interestingly, none of the films touched on the issue of homosexuality significantly. This is a
conspicuous absence and one that needs to be considered. In fact, according to movie trivia,
homosexual interest between the two main characters was specifically written out of Bend It Like

and featured what many in our class would agree was gratuitous sex scenes. All of this is to emphasize
the women s adherence to traditional values.

The Role Of Government In George Orwell s 1984
Oceania s government is known as the Party. The Party controls every aspect of the citizens lives.
They do not have privacy in their own homes, because the telescreens are constantly being monitored
by the Thought Police. Citizens live in fear of committing a thoughtcrime or a facecrime, and being
taken during the night. Once the citizens are taken, they are erased from records as if they never
existed. The novel 1984 by George Orwell is about government and reveals the Party controls natural
tendencies and the past of Oceania s citizens. In 1984, a citizen can be charged for a thoughtcrime. A
thoughtcrime is considered having a thought that goes against the Party s policies. For instance
Winston thinks, Whether he wrote DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER, or whether he refrained from
writing it, made no difference ( Orwell 19). Winston knows the Thought Police will abduct him for
committing a thought crime eventually. He knows it is impossible to hide his thoughts forever, for his
face will one day betray him. Winston states, You might dodge successfully for a while, even for

One way the Party controls sex drive is only accepting marriages between two people who feel no
attraction to each other. The only purpose of their marriage would be to beget children for the service
of the Party. For example Winston speaks of his wife and how rigid she was toward him. He says, To
embrace her was like embracing a jointed wooden image (Orwell 66). The pleasure of the sexual act is
completely removed from their relationship, and they could not produce children. Although, the Party
did not allow divorce, they encouraged separation if the two could not have children. The two
eventually parted, and Winston believes she is in a labor camp

Similarities Between To Kill A Mockingbird And The Help
Compare how the theme of courage is explored in To Kill a Mockingbird and The Help?
Mental and moral courage are different types of courage that are demonstrated in To Kill a
Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee and The Help, directed by Tate Taylor. These can be compared
and contrasted by sharing similarities and differences through dialogue, characterisation, plot
techniques and the opinions through the eyes of different characters. These techniques are also used to
help an audience understand the different meanings of courage that are demonstrated in these two
texts.
Courage is expressed by characterisation, dialogue and plot. Showing or explaining the different
personality traits of each character highlights the acts of courage through characterisation.
Characterisation is the main technique that can be compared and contrasted between To Kill a
Mockingbird and The Help. Although every character is different, some of their beliefs, opinions and
actions are similar, which assists in creating a greater understanding of courageous, or cowardly
approaches shown in each character.
Two very courageous characters in The Help and To Kill a Mockingbird are Atticus Finch and
Eugenia Skeeter. Both characters are similar in the way that they both believe they should stand up to
what they believe in by going against the social norms. Atticus Finch defended a black man I m

A dead spy hangs on the gallows. In a failed attempt to cross enemy lines, twenty one year old Nathan

How do six ordinary untrained citizens change the course of the American Revolution? The story of

Analysis of Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony
Introduction Felix Mendelssohn was one of the most famous composers during the 19th century.
Although in his music he did show some features of romanticism, he was strongly influenced by
traditional genres such as counterpoint etc. In this essay, the biography of the composer, background
of the genre and analysis of the piece will be investigated
Biographical Sketch of Mendelssohn
Mendelssohn was born in Hamburg in 1809. His father Abraham Mendelssohn was a banker, while his
mum Lea Mendelssohn was a highly educated artist and musician. Mendelssohn first had his piano
lesson from his mum, but soon he was sent to study with the best teachers at that time such as Marie

This simply corresponds to Robert Schumann s saying: Mendelssohn is the one who most clearly sees
through the contradictions (between the classical and romantic style) of the age and for the first time
reconciles them.
Musical Form of the Work The symphony consists of four movements. The first movement, Allegro
vivace, is in sonata form. In the first theme (Ex.1), many sequences were used to construct the melody.
And being inspired by Italian opera, Mendelssohn here tired to delay the closure of the theme as much
as possible. While the second theme, it shares the similar materials as the first theme. In the
development section, although a new theme appears, it consists of some materials of the first theme.
Then, all these three themes appear again in the recapitulation, creating a sense of unity.
Ex. 1 Opening theme of the first movement The second movement, Andante con moto, however has
two main different interpretations that it could be analyzed as song form or sonata form. The third
movement, Con moto moderato, was composed in form of minuet and trio. Finally, for the finale,
which consists of the Roman saltarello and the Neapolitan tarantella dance rhythm, contains
characteristics of both sonata and rondo form.
How does the piece fit into the orchestral literature of the 19th century? First and foremost, the piece
reflects the development of the clarinet that its role in the orchestra became more and

Race Based On Physical Appearance
The concept of race as it is known today began innocently, as a useful point of comparison between
peoples based on physical appearance. Over time, the idea of color was corrupted by various ruling
classes, who discovered that this brand of disenfranchisement was useful to create and maintain an
exploitable lower class. What was once a descriptor was twisted into a tool of oppression, insidiously
folded into society through language, mythology, and the normalization of race based enslavement.
As society moved from interactions between local groups to travel and trade between countries and
continents, meaningful distinctions between peoples became less specific. While it was once useful to
refer to one s neighbors by their language or ethnic group, a broader world meant far too many
languages and ethnic groups for that categorization to be used. Categories grew, grouping people by
their religion, culture, broad geographical location and physical characteristics. One such
categorization was color. In some cases, color was entirely comparative, used not to define a group on
their own but rather with reference to another. Arabs in antiquity would describe themselves as black
when differentiating themselves from the brown Bedouins and the red Persians and Europeans, but
also describe themselves as being white or red in comparison to black Africans (lecture September
27). However, the concept of black as an intrinsic qualification emerged and gained traction in

Naming In Tea Cake By Zora Neale
Naming is an important way in which readers can see hope affirmed or ill fated from the start, because
it adds layers of meaning to characterisation. Joe Starks superciliously narrow minded attitude towards
life renders his marriage with Janie a stark, bleak and miserable relationship where love slowly bleeds
away, (King, 1990) with each thing he denies her, leading to the first real death of her hope: something
fell off the shelf inside her... her image of Jody tumbled down and shattered in her mind s eye. Her
drifting afterwards and loss of joy in the nature she used to adore emphasises the emptiness of a life

Canine s Thyroid Disease
There are diseases in which an animal s body does not function properly. Companion animals whose
body produce excess amounts of thyroxin (T3 T4), a thyroid hormone from the thyroid gland, is
diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, also called thyrotoxicosis. This disease is not recognized in
livestock like in companion pets. Felines who are adult age are the companion animal designated to
contract this disease. Canine s thyroid composition can handle and dispose of any excessive hormone
surplus, so hyperthyroidism symptoms only occur when a tumor is present. Each species of animal has
its own anatomical thyroid gland. In general, non cancerous adenomas are known to enlarge thyroid
glands, whereas thyroid adenocarcinomas also enlarge the gland, but ... Show more content on

Heart and kidney function, as well as the brain and eyes can be damaged when hypertension is
secondary to hyperthyroidism. Signs of the disease are hyperexcitability, vomiting, diarrhea, increased
thirst, increased urination, and weight loss even with increased appetite. The hyperthyroidism is
diagnosed by clinical signs, symptoms, and blood tests to check hormone levels and chemistry panels.
Surgery to remove the thyroid is a cure to eliminate hyperthyroidism, but a thyroidectomy will require
hormone medication for the rest of the animal s life. As with any surgery with anesthesia, there is a
risk, and since the parathyroid gland is in close proximity to the thyroid gland, care must be taken to
not damage the parathyroid gland. Medication to control the production of excess T3 and T4 hormone
is a treatment, not a cure for the disease. However, if the animal has side effects which have to be dealt
with, daily dosing of anti thyroid medication, and veterinarian visits for blood tests fall to the
responsibility of the owner. Radioactive iodine therapy is a safe, effective way to kill the thyroid
abnormal tissue, providing another cure for hyperthyroidism. An injection of the radioactive iodine is
performed by the veterinarian and the iodine is engrossed by the bloodstream, with no adverse side
effects or the risk of anesthesia. Since this treatment is radioactive, hospitalization after injection must
be adhered until the

Theatre Application Essay
Oh God, I m bleeding! There I stood, being crucified while hanging from a light rack at the end of the
play. When I was on stage that night, singing and making the audience believe all the pain felt real, I
demonstrated the greatest talent I am known to have: acting. My skill peaked at the time I took part in
my high school s musical, Godspell, and I played the main role: Jesus. I started acting officially my
freshman year. I felt like an outcast in school, and since I thought the theatre program was meant for
weird people, I decided to audition for a play. The basis of my talent started with The Merchant of
Venice by William Shakespeare, where I learned that there is more to acting than memorizing lines.
Going into my sophomore year, I took part in The Seagull by Anton Chekov. My theatre director took
me through a long acting exercise called The Meisner technique that challenged me to connect
emotionally with other actors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This significantly affected my skill level because I had to put together everything I had learned the
past year about acting into one week.
Theatre challenged me the most junior year. The first play that year was The Curious Savage by John
Patrick. The role I played helped me develop the skill to act as an antagonist different from the
comedic characters I had portrayed in the past.
Last but not least: Godspell by Stephen Schwartz. The first musical that my school produced in a long
time helped me demonstrate everything I learned and more! I had to memorize the most lines,
emotionally connect with everyone in the cast, and show that I had a harsh side even though I was the
protagonist.
For the past three years, I have developed an acting skill through dedication and perseverance.
Although I am not a theatre major, acting and theatre is where I found my best friends and who I

Argumentative Essay On Global Citizenship
While the very definition of the term global citizenship may vary, The Global Citizens Initiative has
simplified such profound term into a person who identifies with being part of an emerging world
community and whose actions contribute to building this community s values and practices (Israel,
2012). When looking at citizenship from a worldview, cosmopolitanism and globalization are the two
main factors that are inevitably crucial, as they expand one s perspective to the extent where one
individual form a global link and form a relationship based on shared beliefs and inclusive mutual
respect, which also resulted in interconnectedness and intercultural communication.
Cosmopolitanism is the belief system that every single individual has a place with a solitary group, in
view of a mutual ethical quality. In political phrases, it consists of an ideological function of
awareness and criticism. In sociological phrases, it is far a reconfigured device for members of the
family in a worldwide global (Gonçalves, 2015). To quote Appiah, cosmopolitanisms is an ideology
that can be define as citizen of the world (cited in Brookes, 2006). Moreover, cosmopolitans
additionally agree with that each one human beings come under the same ethical requirements. In the
face of cosmopolitanisms, the limits between nations, states, cultures or societies are therefore morally
inappropriate, as cosmopolitanism indicates a commitment to universal values (Pitty, Stokes Smith,
2008).

Concerns for the Safety of Human and Animal Food During...
Introduction
The issues concerning the safety of human and animal food during transportation to and within the
United States are concerns, which are raising the attention of both the American public and the United
States Food and Drug Administration. A few of the main worries include, the improper handling of
food products, the lack of proper control of the temperature in which the foods are kept, the concerns
of cross contamination, the lack of proper equipment for the loading of food products before they are
transported to other area on the country and the lack of security.

and animal foods, there issues needs to be dealt with, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, majority of all food transportation services tend to outsource or go over their initial
budget intended for transportation.
Many of these findings are important when it comes to the safe transportation of foods. The shortage
of drivers may be as a result of the lack of proper education in the procedures needed to be taken to
ensure the food safety during transportation. Also, hauling of food commodities in empty trucks on
return trips increases the chances of cross contamination if there has been a previous exposure of
hazardous foods during the loading process. Furthermore, establishing good communication strategies
between shippers, drivers, and receivers is an important element in the safe transportation of food in
the distribution chain.
The limited data on failures of food safety are a direction result of the inadequate storage and
transportation practices whereas some industries disagree by saying that such circumstances are
generally not reported. Studies conducted by experts state that the underlining practice of the food
transportation sector, which involves the road, rail and sea transportation by means of trucks, trains
and ships respectively should investigate and specify where foods are at a high risk of cross
contamination.
The main purpose of this study was to pinpoint the problems such as chemical and microbiological
hazards in the transportation of food and to figure out ways through which these problems

3. What is the role of MV in acute respiratory failure (ARF) related to lung infection or sepsis?
Recommendation:
The early placement of an endotracheal tube is justified to limit the work of breathing, protect the

Meiosis Development And Aging Chapter 3 Summary

supportive structures develop that are crucial for proper growth. These structures support and protect
these developmental embryos. Some of these structures are the umbilical cord, amniotic sac, the
placenta, yolk sac, chorionic villi, and the allantois. During the third week of embryonic development
after conception, chorionic villi connect to the uterine wall, which provide maximum contact with
maternal blood. They sprout from chorion, are an essential element in pregnancy and a product of
conception. Branches of the umbilical arteries carry embryonic blood to the villi. Although the mother

Twins can be either monozygotic or dizygotic. Monozygotic or identical twins develop from one
zygote, which splits and forms two embryos. They are natural clones of each other and are genetically
identical. There are three types of monozygotic twins that can form, that depends on early
development in the fertilized ovum or embryo splits. The first type of monozygotic twins have
separate amnions and chorions. About one third of identical twins separate before the trophoblast
forms on the fifth day. The second type of identical twins that share one chorion and one amnion. This
type of split happens about one percent in monozygotic twins, because the tissue splits after these
structures are already developed. The third type of twins that are monozygotic, share a chorion and a
different amnion. This type of split occurs in about two thirds of identical twins. Identical twins occur
in about thirty percent of births in the world, although not all twins survive long enough to be born.
Dizygotic or fraternal twins occur when two sperm fertilize two separate eggs. This usually occurs
when two eggs are released from the ovaries and are fertilized. Dizygotic twins normally run in

Civil Disobedience Negative
Civil disobedience is as American as McDonald s or apple pie. It wasn t that long ago when America
was the only place that a person could peacefully protest the government or its rules without having
any fears of being punished. But at what point does peacefully protesting become both civil
disobedience and a harmful act to society? Civil disobedience negatively impacts society because it
not only breaks laws, but it can also be used as an excuse for violence. Abraham Lincoln once said,
Let every man remember that to violate the law is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the
charter of his own and his children s liberty, (President Abraham Lincoln). When a person breaks the
law, no matter how insignificant it may be, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking closer at the time period and situation of the civil rights movement reveals that civil
disobedience is in fact negative to present day society. The Civil Rights Movements used a
combination of peaceful protests and civil disobedience to attain their goals. There are two reasons
why civil disobedience worked back then: There was no social media and the protesters knew that
they could die even if they protested peacefully. 42 people were killed because of their involvement in
the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 1968. (Southern Poverty Law Center) Nowadays, a protester
knows he or she will not be murdered a few days after the protest because he or she participated in it.
This lack of fear empowers protesters to push further their level of civil disobedience to the point
where it s an unnecessary and violent act that hurts society. Another major difference between then
and now is the use of social media. Before the advent of social media, on any given day an individual
might have had the opportunity to share his or her feelings about an unfolding political event with, at
most, 10 or 15 people. Now with a few strokes of the keyboard or swipes of a mobile phone, people
can make their thoughts known instantly to hundreds or thousands of others. Moreover, the fact that
these thoughts are spread through social networks that individuals have

Nauru and PNG; however, this does not restrict any international human rights obligations of
Australia, which is determined in accordance with international law and treaty interpretation in good
faith, according to their ordinary meaning, and in light of their context and the treaty s object and
purpose .
1.1 Acts Attributable to Australia
A State can act through the conduct of its agents. Conducts by any governmental bodies or anyone
with governmental authority, and entities acting under the direction or control of the State could be
attributed to the State .
Regarding asylum seekers in Nauru and PNG, conducts by the Australian Immigration Minister, the
Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and DIBP officers should be attributed to
Australia, as they make up decisions to remove asylum seekers to Nauru or PNG on behalf of the
Australian government. Moreover, the conduct by Transfield, the contractor designated by the
Australian government to manage the detention centres, may be attributable to Australia because it
exercises elements of governmental control over the centres.
1.2 Breach of International Obligations
Third country processing for asylum seekers is not prohibited under international law, but Australia
could still remain liable for the transfer, and ought to ensure adequate safeguards for the transferred
asylum seekers .

teachers are not training well to teach children. Hart argues that the Children requires teachers to be

Explaining Fast Fashion
How fast fashion is affecting the environment is a very serious topic since this type of consumerism in
the United States is heavy on supply and demand, and because of that shoppers want it all and want it
now which is basically fast fashions motto. The way to make these pieces of clothing heavily rely on
cheap materials that can be made quickly, so that is polyester and cotton being made in big factories
that emit out toxins into our earth. Cotton being one of the most used fabrics takes a lot to be made
into a single garment. Uzbekistan which is the 6th biggest producer of cotton had faced many conflicts
during production since cotton uses so much water to be made it has dried up the 4th largest lake the
Aral Sea because of how much we need to produce cotton fashion. (Prospectjournalucsd) Buying
these cheap garments that become unwearable after 5 times (Forbes) of wearing it usually gets thrown
out after and producing more waste that gets put into our waterways since theses garments shed easy
and through washing them can find their way into oceans and on the shores everywhere. (Sweeny) So
with the help of shoppers, being able to cut down on the purchase of fast fashion can help aid in
keeping the ecosystem in order.
Benefits of Not Buying Fast Fashion
A benefit of not buying fast fashion would be becoming more aware of what how shoppers affect the

The Unjust Double Standards In Cosi By Lewis Nowra
Realism is a significant style of theatre as it enables audience to empathise, thus this style can educate,
empower and challenge audiences. Realism is an aesthetic mode which broke with the classical
demands of art to show life as it should be in order to show life as it is (Christopher Keep, 2000). Cosi
is an Australian realism play by Lewis Nowra, the play was written in the 1970s a time of political
movement, therefore the play explores various themes. In this concept, I want to specifically showcase
the unjust double standards that men have regarding women. In order to highlight this unfair double
standard through use of directorial techniques of lighting and staging interconnected with the dramatic
elements of symbol, tension and language. Through the utilisation of these elements and techniques
the theme of the unjust double standards will be effectively conveyed. This is a critical issue for
audiences to understand as this issue is still prevalent in society today. By educating audience on this
issue, this production will challenge how Australian society conduct themselves in everyday life.
Thus, leaving audience members with a sense of empowerment as they reflect on how women were
treated in the past and how this still mirrors modern day society.
Directors intent:
Through this directorial concept I intend to expose the unjust double standards that men have
regarding women. Through clear emphasis on this theme I want to capture the raw human emotion of
women,

Abstract
When we hear the phrase, sex offender, we normally feel repulsed. We think of dirty old creepy men. I
for one used to do this, I won t lie. This is because people like to rush to judgment. But my opinions
changed when I came to the realization that it s not just creepy old men who are sex offenders. I want
to talk about them, but not those who are serial rapists or child molesters; they don t deserve to be
talked about. I m talking about people who are convicted, whether it s falsely, or unjustly, and have to
wear a stamp on their forehead for the rest of their lives saying they are a sex offender.
I have an uncle named Michael and he s 29; he ll be 31 in October. In 2006 in Fredericksburg,
Virginia, he was convicted of rape. A young woman lied and said he raped her, and now he will
forever be scarred. In many rape cases, the defense will say that the victim was fantasizing the rape or
is lying, but sometimes she really is lying (Siegel, 1995, p. 304). Virginia has a two tier system for sex
offenders, violent and non violent. Even though Michaels charge was for the rape of an adult, he is
still considered a violent sexual predator, forever. This means he can t go to McDonalds, he can t go to

Determination And Determination Is The Most Important In Life
Determination means something different to everyone, to me it means persevering through any and all
the obstacles life throws at me. Without any willpower, I d never get anything done, and for that
reason, I m glad to say that determination and strength are most important in my life. It serves a role in
my current life, as well as it will in my future to enable me to be the best version of myself.
Every day is a new struggle, passing tests, turning in homework, keeping my GPA from tanking, it s
almost impossible for me to get through all of this without tenacity. When I m staying up until 2:00
a.m finishing loads of homework and projects, the one thing that keeps me from cuddling up in a
warm blanket and passing out, is my determination to finish the work I ve been given. I nurture this
human capacity in my day to day life, not only in my schoolwork but in my social life. Like any pair,
me and my best friend fight, we ll have friendship droughts , as my mom would say. In spite of all the
fighting, I stick with her because I know all the bickering won t last and there will come a day when I
ll be glad to have my best friend by my side. However, sometimes we do lose people for good and it s
hard to let go of the past and move on into the future. When my grandfather passed away, I felt like I
didn t know how to live anymore. I couldn t imagine getting through life without the one person I
confided in most, the person that always put a smile on my face. I was grief stricken, and the only
thing that allowed me to keep my composure and not fall apart like a brittle vase was my hope that I d
make it past this chapter of my life and move on to better things. Hope is what drives us, it s what
makes us strong, and enables us to keep on keepin on , as some would say.
This determination I ve referenced is what is needed in large amounts for my future job prospects as
well. For a while now, I ve dreamt of starting up my own restaurant or maybe becoming a lawyer, both
require enormous quantities of mental and emotional strength. For the restaurant, I would have to
endure restless nights studying for culinary school, after which I proceed to acquire a building suitable
for my business, hire a staff, spend numerous hours

The Oral Hygiene Maintenance Of An Disabled Children
Preventive dentistry is still a comparatively new and least understood subject in our country as
maintenance of oral hygiene is often neglected and pushed aside . When it comes to the oral hygiene
maintenance of intellectually disabled children, it takes a backseat due to the more pressing need for
education and medical treatment . According to WHO, Oral health means more than good teeth; it is
integral to general health and essential for well being. We use our face and teeth as a front to face the
world. We speak, smile, taste, chew, express our self using our oro facial structure. Disease of this area
severely restricts our physical, psychological and social activities and thereby decreasing quality of
life. The wider meaning of oral health does not diminish the relevance of two globally leading oral
afflictions dental caries and periodontal diseases. Both can be effectively prevented and controlled
through a combination of community, professional and individual action.1,2
According to DSM 5 ( Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders), Intellectual disability
(ID), also called Intellectual development disorder (IDD) or General learning disability, and formerly
known as mental retardation (MR), is a generalized neuro developmental disorder characterized by
significantly impaired intellectual and adaptive functioning. It is defined by an IQ score below 70 in
addition to deficits in two or more adaptive behaviors that affect everyday, general living. Once

Impact Of Globalisation In Australia
Globalisation is the developing economic interdependence among nations reflected in increasing
actual movements across nations of trade, investment, technology, finance and labour, with the ability
to move and the potential movement across nations with those five elements. Australia s involvement
in trade, investment, financial flows, technology transfers and the migration of labour since its
foundation as a colony, has impacted and changed the structure of Australia s trade, with considerable
growth in manufacturing and service industries, with limited growth in the rural sector. The car
manufacturing industry in Australia had high levels of protection in motor vehicles, with an effective
rate of protection, in excess of 200% and 57.5% ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With high salaries being offered overseas, highly skilled labour has been drawn from the Australia, as
the value of the Australian dollar is low. In recent decades, the Australian Government has been
moving Australia into the International market place, with ongoing structural reform taking place. The
reforms in include tariff, financial market, tax and labour market reforms, with enhancements of the
national competition policy and foreign investment rules. In the early 1980s the Australian tariffs used
to be high, with the import duty close to 60 per cent. However, the Motor Industry Development Plan
in 1984, led to a reduction in the tariff assistance. Therefore, meaning that the tariff rate on passenger
vehicles and parts declined by 2.5 percentage points each year during the year of 1988 until 2000, with
another reduction of 5 per cent in 2005. The treasury stated that the prime focus of reforms has been
subject to the private sector in Australia for more competition from both domestic and international
sources, but to improve the performance of public utilities. Financial traders, such as the car
manufacturing industry, rely on low inflation, low interest rates, low current account deficit, high
growth, budget surpluses and a small public sector, in order to make profits. However, Australia is

Identifying The Devils In Rachel Carson s Silent Spring
Arnold Schweitzer once said man can hardly even recognize the devils in his own creation . This is the
point that Rachel Carson argues throughout her book Silent Spring. Carson believes that though the
scientific revolutions that occurred since the turn of the 19th century may seem to be solely beneficial,
they have disastrous repercussions. In particular, Carson claims that man s newly established ability to
have dominion over nature puts the world in a dangerous position. If humans let the power of
controlling nature get to their head and refuse to attempt to understand the possible consequences of
their actions, the Earth is destined to turn into a contaminated wasteland. She argues that if mankind
continues to believe that it is superior to all around it and thereby continues to rapidly and impetuously
alter nature to fit its own desires, then man is using science and technology to catalyze its own doom.
However, Carson does not view ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To her, nature and science are not mutually exclusive and can exist in tandem. In fact, she even says
that where man has been intelligent enough to observe and emulate nature he is capable of creating
progress that is beneficial for both nature and man.In this case, humans are looking to nature for the
solutions. Rather than seeing themselves as above nature and seeking to control it, they are observing
it and its patterns to obtains a solution. Therefore the problem for Carson lies in the human superiority
that has developed alongside the expansion of science. She criticizes the human desire for the control
of nature which she believes is a phrase born of arrogance and instead opt for, as Dr. Briejer says,
humbleness . Carson thinks that in order to truly thrive and proliferate, man should not wage a war
against nature, but instead look to it as an equal and address the intrinsic ties between mankind and

The Relationship Between Time And Money
The relationship between time and money provides the foundation of every financial decision that we,
the people made in the world today. Whether it will be saving money for a future event or considering
a loan to pay for a current financial need. Everyday, everywhere people are greatly affected by the
time value of money. Firms and organizations, investors and capitalists use this concept in particular
for them to decide what to accomplish with their money and how to achieve their goals. They give
money today in order to receive money in the future. Companies on the other hand applies the use of
its view and theory to decide which projects to take and which projects to pass up. This perception is
called capital budgeting. Capital budgeting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Time Value of Money impacts business finance, corporate finance, and government finance. Time
value of money is demanding and demeaning when investing in finance and commercial real estate for
instance, in valuing companies, stock analysts use this idea and the notion of time value of money to
discount back the estimated future earnings of a company to their present value. But, in comparison to
numerous different buyers and sellers, whose future earnings may come at different times; discounting
the value of their earnings may assess their present value.
Present value determines what a cash flow to be received in the future is worth in today s dollars. The
present value of future cash flow will always be less than the same amount of future cash flows, since
each people can instantly and directly invest cash received now, therefore can achieve a greater return
than from a promise to receive cash in the future. The concept of present value is critical in various
financial applications, for instance, corresponding to the valuation of pension obligations, determining
the outcome of investing in fixed assets, and whether or not to purchase one type of investment over
another.
A crucial fundamental component of the present value calculation is the interest rate to use for
discounting purposes. While the market rate of

Andrew Jackson Message Regarding Indian Relations Summary
Rhetoric of Message Regarding Indian Relations ; Andrew Jackson Unwrapped
When one hears the name Andrew Jackson, there are many feelings that are conjured up by an
individual. Some of these emotions include fear, disgust, and comedy. These sentiments are of reason
for substantial evidence exists to prove these emotions plausible. Andrew Jackson was the seventh
president under the Constitution of the United States of America who presided from 1829 until 1837.
However, he was the first president to be impeached. With his controversial presidency, Andrew
Jackson implemented many policies that continue to impact the United States in the modern era. His
most controversial contribution was the Indian Removal Act. The Indian Removal Act prompted the
infamous Trail of Tears that killed many Cherokee Native Americans and moved them westward to
confined reservations. Of course, to implement such grand policy, Jackson had to unduly convince
Congress of those actions. In Andrew Jackson s speech given February 22nd, 1831 entitled Message
Regarding Indian Relations, he tries to vindicate the Indian Removal Act, outline the benefits of such
legislation, and explain why such it was indeed important. Rhetorical strategies such as ethos, pathos,
and logos are effectively utilized by Jackson to persuade Congress to believe in the merits of
upholding the Indian Removal Act which then lead to westward expansion and Native American
migration from their homelands.

Narrative Essay On Criminal Justice
Amun, Jamie yelled from his office. Joy, the devil, I whispered to myself as I trudged across the hall
to hell. New case. There have been several killings this past week and I d like you to go over the file.
Cops still don t know who it is, but you re the only lawyer who takes care of these cases so if you don
t want the job we will have to call someone from out of state to see if they would like to take this case.
Look at the file, think about it, let me know if you would like to take it, by Friday. I picked the file up
off his desk and toiled back to my office. I knew I would take the case, but I thought I d look over it a
little just in case. I glanced at the clock, counting down the seconds till I could leave. ... Show more

Go away! Leave me alone! Don t touch me ever again. I stopped. Confused. Had I done something?
Did she thinking I was the killer? I started down. And saw her in the corner. She saw me and started
screaming more. I can t believe you! Leave me alone! Leave this house! I ll call the cops! I walked

Analysis Of Deborah Brandt s Sponsors Of Literacy Essay
Introduction: In Deborah Brandt s essay Sponsors of Literacy, Brandt describes the process of how
people become literate, the effect of their experiences, and influential people on their learning. The
term that Brandt uses frequently to describe those who have a profound influence on a child s learning
is literacy sponsor. She defines literacy sponsors as, Agents, local or distant, concrete, or abstract, who
enable, support, teach, model, as well as recruit, regulate, suppress, or withhold literacy and gain
advantage by it in some way, (Wardle 46). Essentially, Brandt is saying that every literate person has
had the support of a person or idea that inspires their desire to read and write. The concept of
sponsorship can be applied to fields outside of reading and writing too. There are sponsors of science,
sponsors of art, and sponsors of medicine. Similarly, these sponsor help students learn to understand
the principles of their individual fields. This paper focuses on the sponsorship of first year and second
year University of Minnesota Medical School students from the Nu Sigma Nu fraternity. Data was
collected through interviews with four students from this fraternity. The guiding question for this
research paper was, Can Brandt s definition of literacy sponsor be applied to other fields of learning,
such as the medical field. If it is found that the definition for sponsorship can be applied to the medical
field, then sponsorship can be applied to other

From the pushups on the scorching rocks, having parties at the beach also known as the marvelous sand pit to making friendships that would last a lifetime the military has truly been a life altering experience. It s taught me how to triumph over adversity, to forget fear and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. To lower the most of the negative impact, relevant mitigation has been designed. In order to reduce its impact on the atmospheric environment and ensure the health of the workers, several mitigation has been given, such as water spraying to suppress dust, making deep holes for blasting, hardening the pavement, control the speed of the transportation and putting the tarpaulin. In order to reduce the dust pollution caused by the spoil, several mitigation has been given, such as water spraying to suppress dust, and not pouring the spoil on a large scale. • 4. Health Information Technology For Economic And Clinical... In the past, our healthcare distribution system predicated its payments solely on the number of accommodations provided and not on the quality of care distributed to patients. As a result, patients might receive redundant tests, medication errors, or accommodations that might not ameliorate their health and may cost them more in copayments or coinsurance. Whereas women are expected to comply to their gender role prescribing passivity and compliance, athletes are connoted with an aggressive, competitive nature. Furthermore, society trains women to be ashamed of their bodies and supplies an unrealistic ideal body type and encourages restricting feminine clothing, whereas athletes must have a keen understanding and appreciation of their bodies. If a woman can still be subject to and controlled by the male gaze (that Laura Mulvey and so many other art historians have written about), she is not a threat to the status quo and male power. According to this theory of the gaze, the male protagonist in a film is generally used as for the presumably male viewer to project his own desire of control over the female image. Through the onscreen male s gaze, the woman s image may be appropriated and the viewer may have the illusion of control over the woman. In these films, then, the woman, though she is seemingly in control of her own body and image through her character in the film, is still ideologically subjected to male control. Mental and moral courage are different types of courage that are demonstrated in To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee and The Help, directed by Tate Taylor. • 16. Race Based On Physical Appearance The concept of race as it is known today began innocently, as a useful point of comparison between peoples based on physical appearance. Over time, the idea of color was corrupted by various ruling classes, who discovered that this brand of disenfranchisement was useful to create and maintain an exploitable lower class. What was once a descriptor was twisted into a tool of oppression, insidiously folded into society through language, mythology, and the normalization of race based enslavement. As society moved from interactions between local groups to travel and trade between countries and continents, meaningful distinctions between peoples became less specific. While it was once useful to refer to one s neighbors by their language or ethnic group, a broader world meant far too many languages and ethnic groups for that categorization to be used. Categories grew, grouping people by their religion, culture, broad geographical location and physical characteristics. One such categorization was color. In some cases, color was entirely comparative, used not to define a group on their own but rather with reference to another. Argumentative Essay On Global Citizenship While the very definition of the term global citizenship may vary, The Global Citizens Initiative has simplified such profound term into a person who identifies with being part of an emerging world community and whose actions contribute to building this community s values and practices (Israel, 2012). When looking at citizenship from a worldview, cosmopolitanism and globalization are the two main factors that are inevitably crucial, as they expand one s perspective to the extent where one individual form a global link and form a relationship based on shared beliefs and inclusive mutual respect, which also resulted in interconnectedness and intercultural communication. Cosmopolitanism is the belief system that every single individual has a place with a solitary group, in view of a mutual ethical quality. Furthermore, establishing good communication strategies between shippers, drivers, and receivers is an important element in the safe transportation of food in the distribution chain. The limited data on failures of food safety are a direction result of the inadequate storage and transportation practices whereas some industries disagree by saying that such circumstances are generally not reported. Studies conducted by experts state that the underlining practice of the food transportation sector, which involves the road, rail and sea transportation by means of trucks, trains and ships respectively should investigate and specify where foods are at a high risk of cross contamination. The main purpose of this study was to pinpoint the problems such as chemical and microbiological hazards in the transportation of food and to figure out ways through which these problems ... But at what point does peacefully protesting become both civil disobedience and a harmful act to society? Civil disobedience negatively impacts society because it not only breaks laws, but it can also be used as an excuse for violence. The Civil Rights Movements used a combination of peaceful protests and civil disobedience to attain their goals. It serves a role in my current life, as well as it will in my future to enable me to be the best version of myself. Every day is a new struggle, passing tests, turning in homework, keeping my GPA from tanking, it s almost impossible for me to get through all of this without tenacity. When I m staying up until 2:00 a.m finishing loads of homework and projects, the one thing that keeps me from cuddling up in a warm blanket and passing out, is my determination to finish the work I ve been given. In spite of all the fighting, I stick with her because I know all the bickering won t last and there will come a day when I ll be glad to have my best friend by my side. However, sometimes we do lose people for good and it s hard to let go of the past and move on into the future. When my grandfather passed away, I felt like I didn t know how to live anymore. I couldn t imagine getting through life without the one person I confided in most, the person that always put a smile on my face. I was grief stricken, and the only thing that allowed me to keep my composure and not fall apart like a brittle vase was my hope that I d make it past this chapter of my life and move on to better things. If humans let the power of controlling nature get to their head and refuse to attempt to understand the possible consequences of their actions, the Earth is destined to turn into a contaminated wasteland.
