Theme Of Ode To A Nightingale
Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats
Ode to a Nightingale is a regular ode written by John Keats in 1819. The ode is the longest one with
eight stanzas with ten lines each. The poem was composed at Charles Brown s house after John Keats
heard a nightingale bird outside his window singing. This poem expresses different themes such as the
theme of mortality of human life, the theme of unhappiness and happiness, and various figures of
speech like symbolism, to support the themes.
Throughout this poem, Ode to a Nightingale, the author fully expresses the theme of mortality of
human life. In this ode, the speaker convinces himself into believing that the nightingale bird or its
song is immortal. After hearing the nightingale s song, the speaker ... Show more content on

For instance, the word nightingale appears in the title, but it is used as a symbol of beauty,
immortality, and freedom from the struggles of the world. The speaker also uses metaphors like the
metaphor of flight, to describe his imaginative journey to join the nightingale. Keats claims that he
flies on his metaphorical wings:
Away! Away! For I will fly to thee,
Not charioted by Bacchus and his pards,
But on the viewless wings of Poesy, (Keats, 31 33).
The speaker uses imagination to expresses his urge to get away. The symbolism and metaphors help to
show the theme of happiness and express the experience of nighttime through the nightingale
approach, surrounded by dark and fragrant trees. The poem, Ode to a Nightingale expresses various
themes like the theme of happiness and the theme of mortality of human life. Keats compares the life
of the nightingale living in the forest to the human life in the regular world. Throughout the poem, the
poet expresses both manic and quiet mood. Also, the title of the poem lets the reader know that it is an
ode, where he addresses the nightingale. The poet uses different figures of speech such as symbolism
and metaphor to bring out the themes of the

George Orwell 1984 Repression Essay
Monarch Butterflies are famous for their migration in North America. In the fall, these butterflies
migrate from Canada to the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico to avoid the colder weather. The cycle
continues as the butterflies fly back to Canada in the the spring. Just like the butterflies are affected by
the extreme weather, humans can also be affected by the surroundings. One such example is the novel,
1984 in which, George Orwell explores the theme of repression using stylistic elements such as irony,
foreshadowing, and characterization, he reveals how totalitarian government s control on the society
influences Winston s life and even his psychological traits, ultimately warning the readers about the
effects of totalitarian government. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There, O Brien straps a cage full of rats onto Winston s head and allow the rats to eat his face. Orwell
foreshadowed this event throughout the novel when Winston has nightmares about rats. The very
presence of the rats and the pain pushes Winston to leave everything behind, including his affection
toward Julia. Winston pleads O Brien Do it to Julia...Not me...I don t care what you do to her...Not
me! (Orwell, 286). In the end, an oppressive government like that of Oceania s needs to have the
necessary measures in place to transform the minds of its citizens in order to be sustainable in the long
run. The success of the party in doing so is evidenced in the very last sentence of the novel, He had
won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother (Orwell,

The Montgomery Bus Boycott Of 1955-56
The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 56 was triggered when Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus
seat to a white man in the city of Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1st, 1955. The event saw that
around 95% of Montgomery s black citizens refused to ride the bus, lasting 381 days. This was an
extremely important event as this is identified as the beginning of the American Black Civil Rights
movement. I will be discussing the causes of this event the Jim Crow laws, Rosas refusal to move, and
the support of the NAACP as well as the consequences; the suffering of Rosa and Raymond and their
supporters, Negro economic power and Martin Luther King Jr. emerging as a civil rights leader. A key
cause of the Montgomery Bus Boycott (MBB) was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another key cause of the Montgomery Bus Boycott was Rosa Park s refusal to move from her bus
seat, after being told to move for a white person. On December 1st, 1985, after coming home from
work, Rosa sat in the black section of the bus, and was ushered to leave her seat when a white man
boarded. This was a result of there being no white seats available at the time. Rosa had already
skipped the first bus that had passed her, as she saw it was full, and she had no energy in her to stand.
When she was told to move, Rosa argued that she was too tired after her full day of work, and refused
to get up. Later, Rosa stated that her real reasoning for not moving was because she was tired of the
lack of equality in Montgomery. The police were called after Rosa repeatedly told the bus driver she
would not move, and Rosa was arrested that night, and thrown into jail. She was fined $10, as well as
$4 for court fees. Ed Nixon, who was the head of the Montgomery NAACP, bailed her out, and they
then drew attention to her case. Her arrest sparked an uproar in the black community of Montgomery,
and this was incentive for the decision that they needed a solution to end this discrimination, and got
involved with the boycott they had planned. Although two other woman, Mary Louise Smith and

Evaluating Nursing Codes
Why is a universally accepted set of codes for diagnoses and procedures/interventions important?
An accurate and specific documentation of universally accepted set of codes are important for the
protection of healthcare providers as well as increased reimbursement for services received. These
codes are for the validation of which services the patient received from their health care provider (
(Page, 2009). Having the correct codes in place insures the provider with the information needed by
the health insurance carrier. Maintained by the AMA (American Medical Association), this universal
numeric assignment is also used for developing guidelines for medical care review as well as data
collection for medical education and research (Scott, 2013). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

ICD 9 and ICD 10 are the diagnoses codes. The health insurance needs the diagnoses codes in order to
authorize the procedure. The CPT codes are used to explain which procedures the patient received
from their physicians. These are usually used for outpatient procedures. If the attending physician or
referring physician changes procedures at the time of service, that CPT code also has to be changed
and verified ASAP. Authorizations from the insurance company may need to be obtained before that
service is done. If these codes are not correct, when the claim is filed for reimbursement, the insurance
company may deny the coverage. The patient may be responsible for the entire expense of their
service. More often than not, the facility ends up with the burden the costs. There are many times the
patient has her procedure done before the required authorization was obtained. Some insurances
would retro date the authorization, some would not. There are many times I would have to work on
the patient s account, verify the insurance as well as secure the authorizations, if needed. This is all
happening as the patient is waiting at the registration desk, waiting for the go ahead . Sadly, there are
those patients given contrast for their radiology procedure, just to say they have to reschedule their
appointment because authorizations weren t obtained in time. I have to say this infuriates me because

Essay about Guide to Becoming a Jerk
Guide to Becoming a Jerk
Being a jerk can be fun. It gives you a feeling of dominance over others; you are more important then
the rest. You are the wolf among a flock of sheep; people fear you, and therefore look up to you. Being
a jerk is not hard; all you have to do is think about yourself and your own feelings, and forget that
everyone else has emotions. There are various ways of achieving this perception of importance; you
can put people down and belittle them, pretend you re better than everyone, or just be plain mean,
unpolite, and nasty. Sure, there might be some little voice inside saying that you are no better than
anyone else is, but you can drown out that nagging reminder with constant insults to others. Nothing

This will make the other person feel insecure and reluctant to talk to you; the people around you will
either think your comments are funny (they aspire to be a jerk like you), or they will consider you rude
and disgraceful. It doesn t really matter what anyone else thinks though, does it? You are yourself and
no one else; you feel only your feelings and no one else s; so why should you be concerned with
anyone but yourself? You are king in your own mind, and your perception is everything.
If you can t be bothered to be a witty, sarcastic jerk, you can just be a regular, mean jerk. This kind of
jerk is intolerant and impatient (to a higher degree than the other type of jerk), rude, and
unsarcastically mean. The next time someone gives you something or does something for you, don t
say thank you or show gratitude; you should even go so far as to complain about what they gave you
or how they should accomplish things faster. Don t be grateful; if you are grateful, people will think
that they can win your favor with good deeds; that s manipulation. You can t let anyone win your
favor; that would show weakness, and you have to be strong to show that you are of great importance.
Be disrespectful to everyone, and elders and authority figures especially. Respect can also be linked to
weakness, since respecting someone can be taken

Commentary On Short Cut On Nirvana
Through this assignment we where told to watch a documentary Short Cut to Nirvana. I found this
interesting because is based on the belief on another religion or better said based on an event that takes
place in another country and how people and individuals from all over the place meet here to bring
their belief to action. As I watch the video I began noticing things that I found very interesting because
it is not only different to my own faith but spark my interest to gain more insight in what is it that they
do what they do.
When I began there was a man talking about how he felt something leading to leave everything he
knows, such as his everyday life, family, wife, kids, work to be part of the this religion. He understood
this took priority to everything he had even his family and as I kept watching the same story was share
from different individuals some left their house as young as 14 yrs of age. This I found disturbing
because in Christianity we are though that family comes after God and it is important to maintain a
connection with them to lead into Christ as well. In Christianity a child leaving the house in a young
age to practice the faith is not very common it all comes together in life to maintain peace and find
God as a family.
The way they perceive to find their God and their peace intakes from what I was able to gather is a lot
of smoke and also seems very disturbing that they are open to dirt and worship in a messy place. I can

Pop Education Vs Pop Culture
What pops into your mind first when you think of popular culture in today s day and age? The latest
dirt on celebrities or the latest iPhone release? The latest controversial issue or the latest iTunes hit?
Regardless, pop culture encompases all four of these concepts and many more, which consume the
world we live in each and every day. Think about education. At first thought, your mind may not make
the connection between the newest Taylor Swift song and the highest ACT score, but the linkage
between the two becomes undeniable when you dive deeper. Ponder this: each day millions of kids
walk into school buildings across the United States, each of them glued to a little slice of pop culture
(a.k.a. their phone). And each day these millions of kids sit in poster plastered classrooms and listen to
their teachers. I put listen in quotations because thousands of these kids supposedly listen with earbuds
in their ears and screens in their laps. The education they are receiving remains a core principle in
American society, a core value, but pop culture has it looped around its finger. Sadly, when it comes
time to test these children on mathematics and grammar, they seem to know more about the hottest hit
on iTunes than the correct placement of a comma. With that said, I want to make this clear: there are
millions of intelligent students that have found the balance between pop culture and education, but
there are far too many who haven t. Let s focus specifically on the ACT

Views on Health Care Reform Evaluated Essay
While many political issues are controversial and emotional for voters in America, few issues have
created an outcry in recent years like the debate over health care reform. The arguments for and
against such a comprehensive overhaul of the United States health care system are numerous and wide
ranging, as demonstrated by the scores of showings of support and protest against it. While it seems
unlikely that few in the country could understand all of the ramifications of such a large bill, virtually
everyone could find something they liked or did not like in the bill. Indeed, the one unifying aspect of
all of the debate over the reform was the fact that everyone acknowledged that reform was needed, but
as to what that alteration should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This argument has little room for a counter argument, since it is based upon an interpretation of basic
American ideals and economics, rather than a more debatable topic. However, given the vast quantity
of economic theories that abound, agreement on any economic matter is uncertain at best.
Critics have also pointed out the fact that other countries with similar or more drastic health care
programs are doing poorly or failing. Indeed, one study found that:
The findings suggest that universal health care systems such as Australia s, with mixed public/private
funding and delivery allowing for choice in heath care, may actually perpetuate health inequity. While
such systems might ensure equity for patients with AMI, where guidelines for treatment are relatively
well established, this is not the case for care of patients with angina, where high technology health
care may be less urgent and more discretionary. (Clements, Kelman, Korda, 2009)
While comparing countries is invariably a difficult task given the wide varience in governments,
cultural tendencies and economic realities, the Australian method is quite similar to the health care
reform bill, and should give its supporters pause. At the very least, the results of the Australia should
give us pause as we implement our system and attempt to avoid the problems that they have had,
rather than avoiding that type of system at all. Our current health care system has many problems, yet

Why Did Thoreau Use Satire
Thoreau repeatedly utilizes satire to mock violent conflicts and show the futility and insignificance of
wars between disparate groups, which directly applies to racial tensions and the presidential debate in
today s American society. Thoreau mocks conflict during the time by comparing it to an ant war,
demonstrating the unimportance of the issues. Thoreau compares a war of ants to the conflict between
two political parties: Republicans and Imperialists. While using satire to mock modern day conflicts of
the time, Thoreau states, I have no doubt that it was a principle they fought for, as much as our

A conflict over a three penny tax will have as much of an impact on American history as the battle of
Bunker Hill because of the way people react to conflict. His ideology about war is that it is often futile

significant battles of the Revolutionary War over the siege of Boston, but a disagreement over a
meaningless task can cause a war just as tolling. An issue as insignificant as a small tax can lead to
millions of deaths because groups are not able to come together and make a compromise. In addition,

the two political parties, but also the role of race in American conflict. Something as seemingly
insignificant as the color of one s skin has caused mass destruction of all kinds throughout the entirety
of American history because people are unable to see past the conflict and come together. Also,

After reviewing the Kudler Fine Food network, a major network overhaul will need to bring the
network up to par with the latest technology. If Kudler Fine Foods is not able to upgrade their systems
then they will fall behind the technological curve and will not be able to compete with other
companies. Kudler needs to do the upgrade not only to keep up with the advances with network
systems but needs to install the proper systems to increase profits. If Kudler does not do constant
upgrades then they will be forced to pay a larger amount for the larger upgrades in the future. It is vital
to install the proper systems that will have the longevity and the capability for future network
expansion without having to spend money on unnecessary upgrades. Currently all the sites are still

speed between each site. Having a high speed connection is crucial to provide real time updates. These
updates provide the profits made each day and the inventory sold so that those items can be restocked

Those Who By Insight Know What Love Is Essay
As any romantic will assert, love is by far the most powerful force known to human hearts and minds.
This sentiment is espoused throughout history, almost to the point of cliché. Everyone has heard the
optimistic statement, love conquers all, and The Beatles are certain, however idyllic it may be, that all
you need is love. Humanity is convinced that love is unique within human emotion, unequalled in its
power to both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in utter despair. Loves power has
suggested to many that it serves as a link to the divine, and that the feeling instilled in man by love
comes from the supernatural, be it God or otherwise. In La Vita Nuova Dante Alighieri makes it clear
that he believes in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The physical effect that love has on Dante is apparent whenever he is in its presence, that is, through a
vision of Love himself or through being close to Beatrice. In their second encounter, nine years later,
Beatrice is walking down the street where Dante is standing in fear and trembling. As she passes him,
she greets him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to experience the
height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my senses reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight
of others. (5) It is after this encounter that Dante has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love
says to him, Ego dominus tuus, or I am your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in one
hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the two ascend into heaven.
It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he
must submit his will. Just as devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give
up their will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong is his
devotion that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of such a state weighs heavily
on Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil and causes his friends to grow concerned.

Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace
Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace
It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless, emotions
are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing our everyday
activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that emotions will not be
part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much is in fact too much. Anne

what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has achieved through her book to reach out to
the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and
instead opening the minds of millions who have had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always

and concerns, as well as biological and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools
and exercises that help people cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even
more important, she developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and
instead overlap, but all equally important assets to any company. Her book has great impact because

The Importance Of Life In My Life
Life is what you make it
On the ceiling of my father s room wall hung Albert Einstein s frame which had the inscription, Life is
like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving. Those words greatly inspired me
as a teenager. Even in the most difficult moments, those words scream in my head not to give up. I
grew up at a time or period in Nigeria when the military junta overthrew the civilian government. The
political environment so tensed that it drove away investors. Consequently, the political instability
created crippled the economy. The only people that benefited from the military government were their
cronies. During this period, the popular middle class disappeared. The gap between the rich and the
poor widened. Food shortage arose because the government stopped supporting the farmers through
subsidies. Thus, it resulted in the inability of the head of families to provide three square meals for the
family. The food scarcity affected my family as well. There were days I would walk long distances to
school without eating. Also, on some days, I turned my hunger to fasting. I constantly improvised so I
would not get discouraged. In all these, my father kept telling me, My son, this is a phase in life we all
have to go through, everything will be fine. Despite the tough hurdles I had to cross growing up, I
succeeded and became a role model to other teenagers in the neighborhood because of the moral and

Southern Gothic Literature And Deranged Characters Essay
Southern Gothic Literature and Deranged Characters
Southern Gothic Literature is a genre that focuses on grotesque themes that involve troubled and
deranged main characters, while sometimes including elements found from the supernatural
(study.com P1). The following short stories had authors that played a tremendous role in the southern
gothic literature genre, and inspired many authors to follow their style. From necrophilia to serial
killers, southern gothic literature is a genre that is to be studied with an open mind, and also having
good grasp on studying context clues comes in handy.
The author who had one of the biggest impacts on the southern gothic community was William
Faulkner. A Rose for Emily suggests dark themes with hidden meanings beneath the text with blatant
clues that lead up to the death of her lover, and the sick things she does to him. Emily started out as a

titanium is that they become dull after usage whereas the composite blade will stay sharpened for a
fair amount of time, even if you use it to cut through tough items often. The best knife steel of all

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Demand Forecasts
Demand forecasting
Abstract:
1. Identify methods useful for predicting demand in various situations
2. Warn against methods that shouldn t be used
3. Guidelines and examples to improve efficiency of other organizations that don t use these methods
by adopting these forecasting practices.
It has been recorded that formal forecasts are prepared by firms because they have a written marketing
plan, the most popular among these firms is the sales forecast. A common mistake used by people is
that sales and demand acquire the same definition while in fact, demand and sales equate only when
sales aren t limited by supply. Sometimes it is appropriate to forecast demand directly, while other

It involves dividing the forecasting problems into parts that are easier to forecast than the whole, one
approach is breaking it down into multiplicative components. It has a number of advantages as it is
used when there is much uncertainty about the aggregate forecast, when large numbers are involved
and it has proven to be more accurate than those of global approach.

It is a type of expert system which can be useful for repetitive complex forecasting problems when
historical data on the variable to be forecasted are lacking or of poor quality. It is more accurate the
aided judgment.

Technology Plan Design
Introduction: Technology Plan Design A technology plan should set the direction for the future use of
technology as a tool for assisting School District in attaining their vision, mission, and goals. As noted
by Picciano (2011), planning should include a comprehensive approach to identifying needs,
commitment to follow through with action steps and resource acquisition, collaboration between
internal and external publics. The plan should also be a continuity between change and a connection to
the past that builds toward the future detailing objectives, rationale, strategies, and measurements.
This approach to planning assists in developing a technology plan through minimizing risks by
establishing basic evaluation criteria early in the process (pp 20 25) such as identification of
measurable goals and insuring that all stakeholders are involved throughout the process. Knight (2011)
and Senge (2001, 2012) recommend using a systems approach to planning and Picciano (2011)
supports this by describing an implementation model that defines, designs, develops and disseminates
technology in small incremental stages until satisfied that the technology is meeting expected goals on
a limited basis before implementing on a larger scale (p. 25). Using a systems approach, a technology
plan must identify operational feasibility and is often best implemented through a pilot or phased in
process. While a technology plan can look excellent on paper, identifying needs,

The Importance Of Global Poverty In Africa
Africa is one of the first countries that come to mind when you think of global poverty. Many places
in Africa can be found on the global poverty list, such as Malawi, Burundi, and Madagascar. Malawi
has GDP per capita of $226.50...Holding a population of 16 million while also being of the smallest...
( Top 10 Poorest Countries in the World 2017 List 2017) Malawi is considered to be the weakest
nation, it suffers the most. From lacking a decent education to the standards of living conditions.
Burundi on another hand has a GDP per capita of $267.10... Aside from the estimated 300,000 civilian
casualties resulting in a 67 percent, poverty rate, the violent political rivalries were also detrimental to
Burundi s agricultural development. ( Top 10 Poorest Countries in the World 2017 List 2017) With
Burundi being the second on the list of ten countries listed, they are struggling because they are
lacking consistent weather and sustainable land. Last but not least, Madagascar is the sixth on the list
and has a GDP per capita of $463.00 . ( Top 10 Poorest Countries in the World 2017 List 2017) The

Essay On White Community
As a white person, you are allowed to have a sense of community. You are allowed to be part of a
community. You are also allowed to be a community leader, a pillar of the community, and an asset to
the community, but at no time will you be labeled as being from a white community. A white person
who goes on a killing spree will never be reported to have ties to the white community. Timothy
McVeigh, Dylann Roof, Eric Harris, and Jane Toppan; all murderers, all white and not of them
referred to as having ties to the white community. None of them have ties to the Baptist community,
the Catholic community or any community at all. None of these people reflect poorly on white people
all over the world and in a local community. None of them cause people on the street to see a white
person and think, OH, hey, there s a white person, I bet they are planning a mass murder. Most media
stations, when reporting on a violent act, carried out by someone with a status other than white, the
community that society assigns to them will most likely be discussed at great length. For example, the
trouble young man who stabbed people at the mall in Minnesota this past weekend, I heard several
reports that stating he has ties the Somali ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Origin Of Violence
The Origin of Violence A question that has been asked for years and years, to this day, that still
remains unanswered, where is the origin of violence. Where is the line that is drawn from self defense
to committing an act of violence? For years, cases on top of cases of violence have been reported.
School shootings, fights, murder, acts of theft, and countless others, all in which happen on a daily
basis, but where does the line get drawn from what is right and wrong in a situation. The origin of
violence lies within the case itself, as no case of violence is ever exactly the same, the beliefs, the
situation, and the scenario all have different origins for violence. Every individual s beliefs are
different from one another. Based on beliefs, in the 21st century, society follows their beliefs and tends
to be quite close minded to the thought of any belief that goes against or is not in favor of their own. If
an individual believes that that what they did in a violence scenario was right, their mind can not
easily be changed. Belief systems can also go into a huge psychological argument as ... Show more

There is a difference between the truth and an individual s truth. In your own mindset, you full
heartedly believe your own truth. So depending on the situation, anyone s truth can be taken as the
truth. A school shooter is probably convicted, charged as guilty, there is evidence over the crime they
committed, of course not really including their reasoning, but it is not a crime to be taken very easily.
Based on the situation lies the origin of violence. An intruder breaking into a family home, committing
an act of theft, the home owner shoots at the intruder, are they now the one guilty in this situation? No,
this was more of an act of self defense. The truth of the origin of violence lies within the

Situation
Since taking over as commissioner in 1994, William Bratton has transformed NYPD into an effective
deterrent of crime through a series of strategic organizational changes. Crime rate in New York has
decreased by 25.9% in just a year compared to the average national rate of 5.4%. Now, NYPD s
results oriented strategy needs to sustain its momentum and continue to produce results, despite falling
budgets, labor disputes and difficulty in getting resources allocated. In this paper, I will review the
challenges Bratton faced, analyze his change decisions and discuss his options to confront new issues.

Ideas developed by the re engineering team made their way into 7 strategies. He realized that
transformation is not possible unless many people are willing to help, and publicized the need for
change by adopting a sustained public relations campaign. Next, he had to remove obstacles to his
vision, which in this case was the organizational structure. Middle managers were given more
authority through decentralization and local control was established over local problems. This
devolving of authority empowered them to deploy resources more intelligently and ensured credibility
of the change effort as a whole. CompStat meetings were introduced to measure results with greater
consistency and reliability, hold the middle manager accountable for their actions and encourage inter
bureau coordination. Cost efficiency was attained through introduction of new technology. Bratton
defined short term goals (like 10% reduction in 1994) and pushed the organization hard to attain these
goals. In two years, there was a significant decline in crime and improved job satisfaction and morale
within NYPD.
Bratton s options to confront the challenges
In 1996, Bratton faced several challenges including budget cuts, labor wage disputes, restrictions on
deployment of resources and inability to reward performance, all of which threatened to hamper the
momentum of changes. His

Economics of Information
Introduction
There have been discussions among scholars in developed countries regarding economics of
information. Developed countries includes Australia, New Zealand, United States, Ireland, Germany,
Japan, Canada and many more are countries that have a high level of development according to some
criteria. The criterion is income per capita; countries with high gross domestic product (GDP) per
capita would thus be described as developed countries. Another economic criterion is industrialization;
countries in which the tertiary and quaternary sectors of industry dominate would thus be described as
developed. More recently another measure, the Human Development Index (HDI), which combines an
economic measure, national income, with other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Information goods and services can be shared and consumed with other consumers at the same time,
cannot be easily returned, perhaps these properties make information economics different from other
forms of economics. For instance more than one person can enjoy a movie in a theatre simultaneously,
more than one person can read the same book, view the same television program, and use the same
web site. This property of information makes it a public or shared good. Usually it will involve high
fixed costs of production but the cost of reproduction is just at lower marginal.
As we know, information managers make economic decision every day for their organization
management. Each decision is a choice among competing alternatives, for example, a good manager
must be good at choosing how to allocate and make use a fixed budget among employees, suppliers,
computers, and many more expenditures. If a manager spends more money in one expense category, it
will result in less to spend in another for instance, a public library director must choose whether to buy
a new computer or a new photocopier. Besides, he or she may decide to open the library on Sundays
or the extra money spent on staff and utilities to keep the library open could have been spent
purchasing more books to support the library collections and holdings.
Information has played an increasingly more important role in several economies, particularly in

  • 2. Theme Of Ode To A Nightingale Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats Ode to a Nightingale is a regular ode written by John Keats in 1819. The ode is the longest one with eight stanzas with ten lines each. The poem was composed at Charles Brown s house after John Keats heard a nightingale bird outside his window singing. This poem expresses different themes such as the theme of mortality of human life, the theme of unhappiness and happiness, and various figures of speech like symbolism, to support the themes. Throughout this poem, Ode to a Nightingale, the author fully expresses the theme of mortality of human life. In this ode, the speaker convinces himself into believing that the nightingale bird or its song is immortal. After hearing the nightingale s song, the speaker ... The speaker also uses metaphors like the metaphor of flight, to describe his imaginative journey to join the nightingale. Keats claims that he flies on his metaphorical wings: Away! Away! For I will fly to thee, Not charioted by Bacchus and his pards, But on the viewless wings of Poesy, (Keats, 31 33). The speaker uses imagination to expresses his urge to get away. The symbolism and metaphors help to show the theme of happiness and express the experience of nighttime through the nightingale approach, surrounded by dark and fragrant trees. The poem, Ode to a Nightingale expresses various themes like the theme of happiness and the theme of mortality of human life. Keats compares the life of the nightingale living in the forest to the human life in the regular world. Throughout the poem, the poet expresses both manic and quiet mood. • 3. George Orwell 1984 Repression Essay Monarch Butterflies are famous for their migration in North America. In the fall, these butterflies migrate from Canada to the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico to avoid the colder weather. The cycle continues as the butterflies fly back to Canada in the the spring. Just like the butterflies are affected by the extreme weather, humans can also be affected by the surroundings. One such example is the novel, 1984 in which, George Orwell explores the theme of repression using stylistic elements such as irony, foreshadowing, and characterization, he reveals how totalitarian government s control on the society influences Winston s life and even his psychological traits, ultimately warning the readers about the effects of totalitarian government. ... The very presence of the rats and the pain pushes Winston to leave everything behind, including his affection toward Julia. Winston pleads O Brien Do it to Julia...Not me...I don t care what you do to her...Not me! (Orwell, 286). In the end, an oppressive government like that of Oceania s needs to have the necessary measures in place to transform the minds of its citizens in order to be sustainable in the long run. • 4. The Montgomery Bus Boycott Of 1955-56 The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 56 was triggered when Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in the city of Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1st, 1955. The event saw that around 95% of Montgomery s black citizens refused to ride the bus, lasting 381 days. This was an extremely important event as this is identified as the beginning of the American Black Civil Rights movement. I will be discussing the causes of this event the Jim Crow laws, Rosas refusal to move, and the support of the NAACP as well as the consequences; the suffering of Rosa and Raymond and their supporters, Negro economic power and Martin Luther King Jr. emerging as a civil rights leader. A key cause of the Montgomery Bus Boycott (MBB) was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another key cause of the Montgomery Bus Boycott was Rosa Park s refusal to move from her bus seat, after being told to move for a white person. On December 1st, 1985, after coming home from work, Rosa sat in the black section of the bus, and was ushered to leave her seat when a white man boarded. This was a result of there being no white seats available at the time. Rosa had already skipped the first bus that had passed her, as she saw it was full, and she had no energy in her to stand. When she was told to move, Rosa argued that she was too tired after her full day of work, and refused to get up. Later, Rosa stated that her real reasoning for not moving was because she was tired of the lack of equality in Montgomery. The police were called after Rosa repeatedly told the bus driver she would not move, and Rosa was arrested that night, and thrown into jail. She was fined $10, as well as $4 for court fees. Ed Nixon, who was the head of the Montgomery NAACP, bailed her out, and they then drew attention to her case. Her arrest sparked an uproar in the black community of Montgomery, and this was incentive for the decision that they needed a solution to end this discrimination, and got involved with the boycott they had planned. • 5. Evaluating Nursing Codes Why is a universally accepted set of codes for diagnoses and procedures/interventions important? An accurate and specific documentation of universally accepted set of codes are important for the protection of healthcare providers as well as increased reimbursement for services received. These codes are for the validation of which services the patient received from their health care provider ( (Page, 2009). Having the correct codes in place insures the provider with the information needed by the health insurance carrier. Maintained by the AMA (American Medical Association), this universal numeric assignment is also used for developing guidelines for medical care review as well as data collection for medical education and research (Scott, 2013). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ICD 9 and ICD 10 are the diagnoses codes. The health insurance needs the diagnoses codes in order to authorize the procedure. The CPT codes are used to explain which procedures the patient received from their physicians. These are usually used for outpatient procedures. If the attending physician or referring physician changes procedures at the time of service, that CPT code also has to be changed and verified ASAP. Authorizations from the insurance company may need to be obtained before that service is done. If these codes are not correct, when the claim is filed for reimbursement, the insurance company may deny the coverage. The patient may be responsible for the entire expense of their service. More often than not, the facility ends up with the burden the costs. There are many times the patient has her procedure done before the required authorization was obtained. Some insurances would retro date the authorization, some would not. There are many times I would have to work on the patient s account, verify the insurance as well as secure the authorizations, if needed. This is all happening as the patient is waiting at the registration desk, waiting for the go ahead . Sadly, there are those patients given contrast for their radiology procedure, just to say they have to reschedule their appointment because authorizations weren t obtained in time. • 6. Essay about Guide to Becoming a Jerk Guide to Becoming a Jerk Being a jerk can be fun. It gives you a feeling of dominance over others; you are more important then the rest. You are the wolf among a flock of sheep; people fear you, and therefore look up to you. Being a jerk is not hard; all you have to do is think about yourself and your own feelings, and forget that everyone else has emotions. There are various ways of achieving this perception of importance; you can put people down and belittle them, pretend you re better than everyone, or just be plain mean, unpolite, and nasty. Sure, there might be some little voice inside saying that you are no better than anyone else is, but you can drown out that nagging reminder with constant insults to others. Nothing replaces ... You are yourself and no one else; you feel only your feelings and no one else s; so why should you be concerned with anyone but yourself? You are king in your own mind, and your perception is everything. If you can t be bothered to be a witty, sarcastic jerk, you can just be a regular, mean jerk. This kind of jerk is intolerant and impatient (to a higher degree than the other type of jerk), rude, and unsarcastically mean. The next time someone gives you something or does something for you, don t say thank you or show gratitude; you should even go so far as to complain about what they gave you or how they should accomplish things faster. Don t be grateful; if you are grateful, people will think that they can win your favor with good deeds; that s manipulation. You can t let anyone win your favor; that would show weakness, and you have to be strong to show that you are of great importance. • 10. Pop Education Vs Pop Culture What pops into your mind first when you think of popular culture in today s day and age? The latest dirt on celebrities or the latest iPhone release? The latest controversial issue or the latest iTunes hit? Regardless, pop culture encompases all four of these concepts and many more, which consume the world we live in each and every day. Think about education. At first thought, your mind may not make the connection between the newest Taylor Swift song and the highest ACT score, but the linkage between the two becomes undeniable when you dive deeper. Ponder this: each day millions of kids walk into school buildings across the United States, each of them glued to a little slice of pop culture (a.k.a. their phone). And each day these millions of kids sit in poster plastered classrooms and listen to their teachers. I put listen in quotations because thousands of these kids supposedly listen with earbuds in their ears and screens in their laps. The education they are receiving remains a core principle in American society, a core value, but pop culture has it looped around its finger. Sadly, when it comes time to test these children on mathematics and grammar, they seem to know more about the hottest hit on iTunes than the correct placement of a comma. With that said, I want to make this clear: there are millions of intelligent students that have found the balance between pop culture and education, but there are far too many who haven t. Views on Health Care Reform Evaluated Essay While many political issues are controversial and emotional for voters in America, few issues have created an outcry in recent years like the debate over health care reform. The arguments for and against such a comprehensive overhaul of the United States health care system are numerous and wide ranging, as demonstrated by the scores of showings of support and protest against it. While it seems unlikely that few in the country could understand all of the ramifications of such a large bill, virtually everyone could find something they liked or did not like in the bill. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This argument has little room for a counter argument, since it is based upon an interpretation of basic American ideals and economics, rather than a more debatable topic. However, given the vast quantity of economic theories that abound, agreement on any economic matter is uncertain at best. Critics have also pointed out the fact that other countries with similar or more drastic health care programs are doing poorly or failing. Indeed, one study found that: The findings suggest that universal health care systems such as Australia s, with mixed public/private funding and delivery allowing for choice in heath care, may actually perpetuate health inequity. While such systems might ensure equity for patients with AMI, where guidelines for treatment are relatively well established, this is not the case for care of patients with angina, where high technology health care may be less urgent and more discretionary. (Clements, Kelman, Korda, 2009) While comparing countries is invariably a difficult task given the wide varience in governments, cultural tendencies and economic realities, the Australian method is quite similar to the health care reform bill, and should give its supporters pause. At the very least, the results of the Australia should give us pause as we implement our system and attempt to avoid the problems that they have had, rather than avoiding that type of system at all. Why Did Thoreau Use Satire Thoreau repeatedly utilizes satire to mock violent conflicts and show the futility and insignificance of wars between disparate groups, which directly applies to racial tensions and the presidential debate in today s American society. Thoreau mocks conflict during the time by comparing it to an ant war, demonstrating the unimportance of the issues. Thoreau compares a war of ants to the conflict between two political parties: Republicans and Imperialists. A conflict over a three penny tax will have as much of an impact on American history as the battle of Bunker Hill because of the way people react to conflict. His ideology about war is that it is often futile and consequences greatly outweigh what is gained. The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the most significant battles of the Revolutionary War over the siege of Boston, but a disagreement over a meaningless task can cause a war just as tolling. An issue as insignificant as a small tax can lead to millions of deaths because groups are not able to come together and make a compromise. In addition, Thoreau details, The legions of these Myrmidons covered all the hills ... the ground was already strewn with the dead and dying, both red and black, (262). Humanity is convinced that love is unique within human emotion, unequalled in its power to both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in utter despair. (5) It is after this encounter that Dante has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love says to him, Ego dominus tuus, or I am your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his will. Just as devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong is his devotion that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of such a state weighs heavily on Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil and causes his friends to grow concerned. Also, various Bible scholars believe that the Parousia directly influenced Paul s stance on marriage (Harris, 2014). Although the certain scholars believe this is the case, I Corinthians chapter seven may depict a different reason for this belief. Consequently, Paul s premise regarding his aversion to marriage was that a spouse, children, household responsibilities, and sexual tension averted time and energy from pursuing Christ and his work. Nonetheless, emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing our everyday activities and decisions.
