In the first scenario, the revenue is still unearned, as the business has not provided any services
so it not a suitable point to recognize revenue. In the second scenario, the service has been
performed and the performance criterion is met. The costs and revenue pertaining to this service
have also become known and can be measured. Similar to issue 1, collection remains to be the only
problem. Again, just because corporations have up to 18 months to pay, does not mean that your
company should defer the revenue until, the third alternative, collection. These larger accounts are
most likely dependable and therefore collection should be probable. This should enable your
business to recognize the revenue when the service is completed. The problems with the CRA
discussed in issue 1, might be prevalent if revenue continues to be recognized at collection.
Moreover, recognizing revenue earlier will increase your current net income by recognizing
revenue for services you have completed in this period but have not yet collected. This will make
your company appear to be more profitable, thus attracting investors. Finally, the fourth alternative,
which better matches the expenses and revenues, may be useful for services that

Feudalism
Explain how the system known as feudalism worked in Medieval Europe.
The bases of feudalism is best described as a social system in Europe throughout the Middle Ages
where individuals worked and battled for upper class who gave them protection and the use of the
land in return for their services (Merriam Webster). Feudalism is not a medieval term and not even a
translation of a medieval concept (Abels 2010; Brown 2010; Bouchard 1998). In our day and time
Feudalism would be difficult and baffling in several ways, but some may feel that we would
benefit from it.
During this time the social class depended on how much land you owned. Royalty in your Kings
and Queens was part of the upper class; the noble lords and vassals followed the ... Show more

The attacks were unsuspecting on the towns and villages so that they couldn t maintain order. All
the while this was taking place the Frankish Empire was falling apart. They begin to fight among
each other for the Kingdom. They became a disorder society. Life may have been not suitable for
some but feudalism turned dysfunction into order during a violent time.
What was its impact on the mission of the church?
The Church was the absolute most predominant foundation in medieval life, its impact invading
practically every part of individuals lives. Its religious observances often shape to the plan; its
customs checked every minute in a person s life; and its lessons supported standard convictions
about morals, the significance of life and existence. Church in Western Europe was recognized as
the Roman Catholic Church went from the religion of the Roman Empire to the official religion
and the most powerful institution of the Middle Ages. All of Europe had been converted to
Christianity by the year 1000. Although this process was peaceful at times but other times it got
downright ugly.
The inclusion of the church in the system became a political reality. The unsettled conditions
caused by the Viking and Magyar invasions forced church officials to enter into close relations
with the only power able to offer them protection. Bishops and abbots thus became vassals,
receiving fiefs for which they were obligated to provide the usual feudal services. The

Softball For Many People Is The Way Of Life, We Eat,...
Softball for many people is the way of life, we eat, sleep, and play softball. Softball is a great
sport for a lot of girls that want to be active and even stay out of trouble. Softball can be great for
starting conversation because on the field you always have to talk, so your teammates now
what is going on and where everyone is on the field. But when you play softball you always have
a rush of enjoyment, and nerves. Softball shows friendship by how the team comes together, we
laugh, smile, and joke around all the time. Softball without friendship is almost like you are
going into a war zone. Sometimes a team full of friendships, is a team that s not ready for big the
big game, or a team that will be ready ever second for anything that could happen. A team like this
will help each other improve on the simple things, like the perfect swing, or the perfect play.
Friendship can win championships, because everyone knows what your strong point is, and talk to
you when you aren t trying that hard. And when you know how to talk with everyone they will
soon find out how important this is for everyone. And wantto help win the championship for the
ones that want it most. At the end of each day its more than a friendship, it s more like a family.
Everyone comes together at the end of the season, it sad to see the good players go. And even
after the season is over everyone will still talk about next year s season. It s the best family that

The Theory Of Transformational Leadership
The theory of transformational leadership is compelling and exciting. In our text, Leadership: A
Communication Perspective, we read that the idea of transformational leadership was developed
into a theory in the 1970 s by James MacGregor Burns; Burns saw transformational leadership as a
more complex and potent form of management than mere transactional leadership(Hackman
Johnson, 2013). Transactional leadership simply offers a traditional model of leading and
following. Within this model, leaders offer to meet a follower s basic needs, and provide reward
in exchange for effort. Transactional leaders see a work day as a series of transactions between
themselves and their followers, and a manager s most important function is to maintain the status
quo (Hackman Johnson, 2013). On the other hand, transformational leaders offer their followers the
opportunity to become leaders by inspiring, empowering, and nurturing them. In these pages, we
will explore how transformational leadership theory could provide a dynamic roadmap for a
century old business as it evolves and transforms to meet new needs.

Doughnuts In America
Doughnuts, who does not like them? They are the iconic American breakfast, and it ceases to
amaze me how much in love people are with these delicious yet little deadly treats. It is not
shocking at all that Americans will do anything for food; it is quite amusing that they will drive to a
Donut Bank (Donut Bank 1), go through the drive through for some doughnuts. The least they
could do is park their car, get off their lazy butts and walk themselves into the Bakery to purchase
the doughnut. Burn three calories before eating two hundred. Not only are Americans using drive
through for food, but now people can go to the Bank and pick up prescriptions from pharmacies.
It is sad enough that Americans use drive through more than just walking in,

History and Eradication of Smallpox Essay
History and Eradication of Smallpox
The smallpox virus has affected the human species for centuries. It has been recorded as early as
1350 BC in ancient Egypt. The smallpox disease is caused by the Variola virus which only inhabits
the human organism. There are two forms of the disease major and minor. The major has a
mortality rate of 20 40% of untreated individuals. Though major and minor eventually run the same
course and the outcome is the same, the major has symptoms that are distinct from the minor form,
including hemorrhaging both internally and externally. Early treatment of the disease was
variolation, and was the only method of treatment until the vaccine was discovered by Edward
Jenner. The World Health Organization (WHO)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mary II (Queen of England). Also affected by the virus, though not killed, were individuals that
include: Elizabeth I of England, and Abraham Lincoln who was ill with disease during the
Gettysburg Address.(Encarta 2000)
Smallpox also has a record of decimating or contributing to the demise of great empires. The first
stages of the decline of the Roman Empire coincided with an epidemic, the plague of Antonine,
which caused the demise of approximately 3.5 7 million individuals. Smallpox also played a role
in the destruction of the Aztec and Inca empires, brought over by the Spanish and the Portuguese
conquistadors. With the introduction of Spaniards in Mexico in 1518, the population of natives
declined from 25 million inhabitants to 1.6 million in 1620(Encarta 2000). The devastating effects
of smallpox also gave way to its use as a biological weapon. The first known example of smallpox
being used in that manner was found in a letter written to Colonel Henry Bouquet in 1763, where a
Sir Jeffery Amherst, commander in chief of the British forces stationed in North America,

Introduction and History
Laser Doppler flowmetry, or LDF, is a unique way to measure the microcirculatory blood flow
without a painful or invasive procedure. LDF uses the Doppler shift theory as a way to transmit the
information, with the scattering of light coming from the laser by way of the red blood cells. [A, B,
C] Micro vascular applications have greatly benefited from this type of technology. The accuracy
and reproducibility can be shown after years of extensive research. It can continuously monitor the
blood flow and between every two to five seconds give an average output value. [E]
The blood cell velocity in capillaries is too low to use the technique of the Doppler shift using
ultrasound, as the frequencies of the sound that would reverberate back would be too small to
identify. [B] Using the laser, calculations based upon the measurements between the primary light
source s frequencies that were transferred towards the vasculature and the reflective light coming
back towards the source can determine the blood flow s velocity. [B] This non destructive way to
assess microcirculatory function has been around for approximately 40 years now in its realised
state. The proposed device became experimentally plausible in 1972 when Riva used LDF for
measuring retina vessels in rabbits. [D] Around 1980 another

The Debate Over The Generation
Everyone s been there; extended family gathered around the dinner table discussing life when
someone makes the notorious comment; Get off your phone, your generation, all you care about is
technology! The debate over Millennials being inadequate and too technology based has become
frequent, the common argument from adults being that all Millennials care about is their phone.
Yet adults have frequently stated this as they glance up from their phone as their fingers rapidly tap
away on a screen. Adults can not continue to blame technology for Millennials lack of knowledge
when they were the ones who raised us this way. Furthermore, contrary to belief, if anything
technology has furthered Millennials growing intelligence, not damaged it. Therefore, although
technological advances have been made, the common belief that Millennials are the dumbest
generationis invalid due to the fact that millennials literacy and overall intelligence is increasing
while the rigor of classes is skyrocketing.
Technology seems to be the pinpoint of the argument of millennials being dumb. Millennials are
always on their phone. Anytime something negative happens it always seems to relate back the that
dumb phone. Yet contrary to this, technology has increased millennials intelligence levels, due to
the fact that the digital world lowers barriers to self directed learning (Mizuko Ito Al.). Instead of
spending hours in libraries, paging through books trying to find evidence for a research

The War Of North Carolina
While trying to retrieve some nephews from a British prison ship, Andrew s mother also fell ill
and died. An orphan and a hardened veteran at the age of fifteen, Jackson drifted, taught school a
little, and then read law in North Carolina. After admission to the bar in 1787, he accepted an
offer to serve as public prosecutor in the new Meroe District of North Carolina, west of the
mountains, with its seat at Nashville on the Cumberland River. Arriving in 1788, Jackson
thrived in the new frontier town. He built a legal practice, entered into trading ventures, and
began to acquire land and slaves. Jackson s rise in Tennessee politics was meteoric, attesting to
his strength of character. In quick succession, he was a delegate to the state constitutional
convention in 1795, then Tennessee s first congressman, then a senator. He resigned his Senate
post after one year to take a job closer to home, as judge of Tennessee s superior court. In 1802 he
challenged Governor John Sevier for election as major general in command of the state militia.
Jackson s senior by more than twenty years, Sevier was a veteran of the Revolution and of many
Indian campaigns, and the state s leading politician. Jackson beat him for the generalship, but the
aftermath brought the two men to a showdown in the streets of Knoxville, followed by
preparations for a duel. Jackson resigned his army commission and was appointed governor of the
new Florida Territory in 1821. He presided over the transfer of

Scarlet Fever Dbq
The industrial revolution in the 19th century brought about a huge population exodus from the
countryside into the cities by people seeking work. The massive influx forced the labouring
classes to live in slums, where overcrowding was a key factor and where the spread of diseases
such as diphtheria and scarlet fever were an ever present threat. The small houses could be home
for as many as ten people, all living together in small unventilated rooms. Between the rows of
terraced houses there were open drains and rubbish where children played, and water came from
wells that were often polluted. The poor living conditions, long working hours in the mills, and low
pay, all contributed to the general ill health of the population and the frequent spread of disease.

Scarlet fever and diphtheria among many others were two of the most common diseases to effect
children in the early part of the 1900s. Scarlet fever occurred mainly in those between the ages of 2
and 8, and was spread by droplets from carriers and affected individuals. Despite sore throat,
headache, and fever, with red spots in the mouth and on the body, children would often continue to
play with friends in the street and to mix with neighbours, thus allowing the disease to spread.
Diphtheria was likewise highly contagious, generally affecting the throat but occasionally other
mucous membranes and the skin. The principal treatment was isolation. Patients were taken from
their homes and isolated in special fever hospitals for up to six weeks. This allowed time for their
own immune system to fight off the infection and limited the risk of contamination between

The Economic Crisis Of Japan
Introduction Japan enjoyed an Asia s economic miracle that the world witnessed a country that
started out poor and had become the second largest industrial power during the postwar era.
However, a large bubble economy had been irritated by the growth, especially in the stock and asset
price markets, the economy suffered a near catastrophic crash caused by speculative mania(Hall and
Von Wiesen, 2014). The Japanese economy has stagnated after the collapse of bubble economy. The
economic situation has been in a wide deflation. In the last two decades, Japanese government took
several measures to solve the deflation problem and spur the economy. There are fiscal expansion,
conventional monetary measures, Yen depreciation, bank recapitalisation, Quantitative Easing, and
three arrows of Abenomics. But the situation did not change much, the balance sheet of the country
shows continuous economic recession. The paper is organized in the following way. Section 2
briefly describes the prolonged deflation in Japan. Section 3 evaluates policies proposed by the
government and gives some reasons of unsuccessful policies. Section 4 summarizes the policy
implementation. Background The long lasting deflation exert a tremendous influence in Japan, the
persistent decrease in the level of consumer prices shrunk profits and investments in corporate,
wages and consumption in individuals. This leaded to a further price decline. Such vicious cycle
has caused the recovery of Japanese economy to

Nile River Impact Of Egypt
The Nile River helped Egypt economically, socially, and religiously, and as a result Egypt was
named the Gift of the Nile because of the given history of these great waters. The Nile has
continued for centuries to provide whats necessary for the people of Egypt and their daily lives.
The Nile River is truly a blessing to these people and Egyptwould not be the same without it.
Without the Nile, Egypt would have remained a hot desert. The people would have not been able to
survive because there was no way of getting food, water, and other basic needs to survive. The Nile
River was considered the Gift of the Nile because of the many ways the river provided for the land.

1/3 of Egypt are farmers and all of these farmers in Egypt were very dependent on the Nile River.
Egypt s farmers were depending on the river to flood the area, so that there would be fertile
lands. With fertile lands, the farmers were able to plant crops, that wouldn t die and be healthy.
The main crops that were planted in Egypt were cotton, corn, wheat, barley, rice, sugar cane,
sorghum, fruits, vegetables, and dates. Every year, when the Nile River flooded, the soil was
filled with nutrients for all these crops to grow. One thing that the Nile River really helped with,
was that the river provided so many jobs to many people living in Egypt. Without the Nile River,
there would be many unemployed, which means many that were impecunious. Having so many
people with little money meant that for those who did work, they wouldn t get as much money
because a lot of the people wouldn t be able to afford anything.
Some of these jobs included farmers, because of the flooding so the farmers could plant crops.
Then there were fishermen, who could fish from the Nile River to sell out to the people which
was another way of having food. Without the river, there could be no fishermen to go fishing as
the river. Another important job were the sailors, which would move the boats up and down the
river. Obviously, without the river there could be no sailors. For the sailors to do their job, there
had to be ship builders that would

The Legacy Of Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767 to Scots Irish colonists Andrew and Elizabeth
Hutchinson Jackson in the mountains between North and South Carolina. Jackson was born into
poverty and as a result received very little education growing up. When The British invaded the
Carolinas around 1780, Jackson s mother and two brothers were killed during the conflict and
British soldiers took the young Andrew Jacksonprisoner, leaving him with a lifelong hostility
toward Great Britain. In 1781, Jackson worked for a time in a saddle maker s shop. Later, he
taught school and studied law in Salisbury, North Carolina. In 1787, he was admitted to the bar,
and moved to Jonesborough. Jackson began working as a prosecuting attorney and later set up his
own private practice. Shortly after he met and married Rachel Robards, the daughter of a local
colonel.
Andrew Jackson quickly became a wealthy Tennessee lawyer and rising young politician. In 1796,
Jackson joined a committee tasked with drafting the new Tennessee state constitution and soon
after he became the first man from Tennessee to be elected into the U.S. House of
Representatives. Although after his term was over in March 1797 he returned home without
seeking reelection, he was almost immediately elected into the U.S. Senate. Only a year later
Jackson resigned from the senate and was elected as a judge of Tennessee s superior court. Soon

The North And South During The Civil War
Throughout the 19th century, the distinctions between the North and South in the United States
were controversial. Prior to the Civil War, the North consisted of business owners and middle class
men. The South consisted of mostly farmers. The North was industrial, using railroads and
factories. The South was agricultural, with mostly farms and plantations. The North paid their
labor workers. The South used slaves. Not only did their opposing views on slaveryand the
separation of the two cultures, tensions arose that eventually led to one of the most gruesome wars
in history.
The North pushed for the abolition of slavery due to the immorality of it. Yet, some reports say
otherwise. In the article To Forget and Forgive: Reconstructing the Nation in The Post Civil War
Classrooms, Ginsburg states, Confederate authors explained Northern anti slavery sentiment in
economic terms once Northern businessmen found slavery unprofitable, they abolished it and
turned to slavery Fanaticism . These Southern authors believed that the North s anti slavery
movement was a ploy for economic prosperity. As a result, this tension led to the fallout of the
Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854, when both northern slave territories were either free states or
remained slave states by the people. This was an opportunity for the government to leave the
legislative branch of slavery with poor sovereignty. The states decided on slavery in hopes that it
would have ended slavery controversy and avoid racism.

Hinduja, 2010). Cyberbullying can have a negative impact on a youth s life and by conducting this
study we can gain a better understanding of how cyberbullying manifests itself in adolescence s
behavior, including suicidal thoughts and attempts. I would use a mixed methods approach to
examine various aspects of cyberbullying, including students involvement in cyberbullying,
reporting behaviors, and suicidal ideation or attempts. To gain more detailed information on the
effects of cyberbullying on youths suicidal ideation and attempts, I would utilize both quantitative
and qualitative data. Since cyberbullying itself is a complex issue combining both quantitative and
qualitative data can help to enhance the theory of the research.

Participates will be students from five middle schools within the five boroughs of New York. I
will collect data from 80 students, ages 11 to 14 (40 females, 40 males). Students will be chosen
by school staff at the middle schools who expressed interested in participating in cyberbullying
studies. Once participates are chosen I (the researcher) will make the visit to the schools to conduct
the study. In the study, pupils will be told

The Works Of The Renaissance Period
The artist I chose to write my descriptive criticism about is Michelangelo Buonarroti. I chose him
because his style as an artist intrigues me and I wanted to get myself involved with more of his
work. Michelangelo was born in Caprese, Italy in 1475 and died in Rome, Italy 1564 but buried
in Florence . He is a well known sculptor painter, architect, and poet whom never married. The
artist had many great works but there will be three in particular that has caught my eye that will
be the focus of this paper. All of the pieces that I will be discussing are a part of the Renaissance
period . The first piece that I will focus on is called Pieta (1499) in St.Peter s Basilica. This is a
sculpture of what seems to be the virgin Mary and Jesus after he was crucified. This sculpture is
a piece that was unique to me. As I looked at this piece it seemed in away almost life like but the
way he sculpted Mary was bueatifully done. You can see the expression on her face and even the
look of her garments that she wore were very detailed. I noticed the way this painting has a
triangular approach. If u look from the top of her head where her veil starts to flow all the way
to the floor or the feet of her son Jesus that is in the shape of the triangle. The picture shows so
much emotion. It shows Jesus lifeless in his mothers arms. You can see fine details even little nail
marks in his side. Exactly what does this sculpture portray I do not know but I do know that just

Mise-En-Scene in Casablanca
This paper will discuss various elements of mise en scene, specifically; character development,
lighting, performance, costume, makeup in the film Casablanca .(Michael Curtiz,1942) The setting
of the story sets the tone for the entire film. Shots of tanks and planes show the violence of war that
coincides with the cutthroat city that is Casablanca. From there, those sentiments are reinforced
when a man is shot in the street while another man pick pockets someone whom is distracted. The
mood of the movie stays on the dark side of things when we enter Rick s CafГ©, where we meet
our protagonist played by Humphrey Bogart. In this scene we are treated to the jaded portrayal of
night club owner. We see his utter disregard for a French woman... Show more content on

Here s someone whom the audience finds out has torn this man to pieces and she receives a fill
light that removes the shadows on her face, making her skin appear perfectly smooth. The back
light provides a halo effect, reinforcing her portrayal as an innocent, sympathetic, even tortured
woman. Although Ilsa has betrayed Rick, her depiction as a compassionate, almost angelic figure
complicates the audience s interpretation of her character. In contrast, Rick s lighting creates an
exhausted image of the older night club owner. His key light casts shadows which emphasize
wrinkles. This wearied picture of, complicates the relationship between Ilsa and Rick. Clearly
Ilsa, who has wronged Rick, sympathizes and wants to reach out to him. However, her
relationship with Lazlo precludes the possibility of Ilsa consummating her love for Rick. Thus,
the lighting places a difference between Rick, a pathetic bachelor, and Ilsa, the innocent, angelic
lady. The characters posses qualities that are both acceptable, however in this particular instance it
s easy to believe that the audience still is glued to Rick and isn t fooled by the angelic portrayal of
Ingrid Bergman s Ilsa. In this scene the performance is based on a particular delivery and facial
expressions of that of one emoting to channel tension, anger and regret.

Crooked Nose Research Paper
Crooked Nose
There are two procedures which are usually involved in the correction of a crooked nose. These
procedures include septoplasty, which is performed to improve or alleviate an airway obstruction,
and rhinoplasty, which is done to improve the external appearance of the nose. These two
procedures may be done individually, or together, depending on the needs and desires of the
patient. Then the physician can, if necessary, surgically realign the nasal septum to improve the air
flow, and, if desired by the patient also improve the cosmetic appearance of the nose.
The surgery, which may take anywhere from one to three hours, is usually performed on an
outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. A small splint will be attached to the outside of
the nose and should be worn for approximately one week. The final appearance of the nose is not
apparent for six to twelve months because normal healing takes place gradually. Generally,
insurance will cover a procedure to improve or alleviate an airway obstruction, but not a procedure
to improve the external appearance of the nose. For a patient who has both septoplasty ... Show

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Global Financial Crisis
The global financial crisis has found problems of the world economy and identified disadvantages
in the current monetary system. Status of the US dollar as key currency has been challenged and
nowadays there is a discussion of how new system should be looked like. Economists,
policymakers and non governmental organizations have made new suggestions. The paper provides
an overview of some proposals that were offered.
Key words: international monetary system, reserve currency, special drawing rights, gold, global
financial crisis
Introduction
The crisis calls for reform of the existing international monetary system towards an international
reserve currency with a stable value, rule based issuance and manageable supply. The main
objective of the reform is to ensure global economic and financial stability.
After the crisis of 2008, there is renewed discussion of the need to reform the global financial and
monetary architecture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SDR should be used as reserve basis for monetary system and IMF can issue SDR for financing its

During crises adequate financing of balance of payments is essential.
International debt management mechanisms should be developed to solve problem of over
indebtedness.
The new international monetary system does not require new foundations. The reform should be
built on improvement of existing mechanisms and should include global monetary policy co

Mutual funds are investment plans that let you to pool your money together with additional
investors to purchase a collection of securities that might be difficult to recreate on your own.
This is often referred to like a portfolio. The price of the mutual fund, also recognized as its net
asset value is determined by the total value of the securities in the portfolio, divided by the number
of the fund s unsettled shares. This price varies based on the value of the securities held by the
portfolio at the end of every business day. Note that mutual fundinvestors do not really own the

Linguistic Relativity Essay
Introduction:
Linguistic relativity is the notion that language can affect our thought processes, and is often
referred to as the Sapir Whorf hypothesis , after the two linguists who brought the idea into the
spotlight. Whorf writes how Language is not merely a reproducing instrument for voicing ideas
but rather is itself the shaper of ideas, the program and guide for the individual s mental activity
(1956:212), and I will explain how it is able to do so. In this essay I will argue that certain ways of
mental categorization, spatial cognition and reality interpretation, based on the characteristics of
our specific variety of language, influence our perception of the world. I will discuss how
languages divide up nature differently, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dirven and Verspoor note how the English differentiation is entirely forced on these children by
the contrast between the English prepositions in and on (1998:140), whereas in Korean, Kkita
(glossable loosely as fit ...) is indifferent to whether the Figure goes into, onto, over, or together
with the Ground, as long as it leads to a tight fit (Choi and Bowerman 1991:90).
The fact that the tested children grouped the actions in accordance with the grammatical structure
of their respective language is evidence for linguistic relativity, as both groups of children
construe(d) the relations between objects in the world on the basis of their language specific
categories, and not on the basis of some universal, conceptual categories (Dirven and Verspoor
1998:140 141). This suggests that the children from the two linguistic communities will partly see
the world in a different way, being inclined to categorise the things they see in contrasting fashions.
Certain features are deemed important enough to warrant a category, and different languages
prioritise different qualities. What this means is that when we say something belongs to a certain
set, e.g. that putting toys into a container falls into an in group, we are focussing on some, but
neglecting other details of the situation, such as the tightness of the fit. The framework of our

The Merriam Webster Dictionary, athlete is defined as a person who is trained to compete in

what should not be considered athletics? The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines athletics as

Drivers must have a very strong neck to hold their helmet up while pulling multiple G forces on
their bodies for hours (Metcalf, Robert). Brute strength is probably not as important as cardio
workouts when it comes to race car drivers. Drivers are not trained as intensely as some other
professional athletes, but they should be in shape if they want to be successful. Endurance is
essential to any race car driver. Almost all athletes have to be able to make their bodies perform
at high levels for long periods of time, and a race car driver is no different. Many argue that all
race car drivers do is sit in a car and drive, and that anyone could do it. Many times in stock cars
the temperature can reach 120 degrees, and drivers will lose a sufficient amount of water from
their bodies due to sweat. On average a driver will lose about five to seven pounds over the
course of a race (Metcalf). At the same time it can be difficult to breathe in a stock car because
there is not much air coming inside of the car because of the aerodynamics. As a result, drivers
have a tube running into their helmet that blows air on them to keep them cool; otherwise, it is
very possible the driver could risk heat stroke during a race. Mark Martin, a fifty year old veteran

A Short Note On The E Commerce Market
1. Critically analyze the factors that led to Alibaba sustaining its leadership position in the Chinese
e commerce market. During the late 1990 s and early 2000 s, the internet was not very popular in
China and people were ignorant to its proper use. Knowing this, Jack Ma decided to start this
internet user friendly company that would allow his clients to perform business transactions with
other businesses/suppliers in China. He first started the company on a local level and as Alibaba
has seen success it has been expanding to the global market. Some of the factors that contributed to
the success of Alibaba in the Chinese e commerce industry were:
First mover advantage: Alibaba has a first mover advantage that makes it very hard for
competitors to chip away at their lead in the market. (Dick Wei, Analyst, J.P. Morgan Securities
Inc.,2 in 2007). Alibaba started its operations when e commerce in China was in its infancy stage.
Considering the potential of the budding e commerce market, Alibaba started with operations that
concentrated on providing B2B services to SMEs that were aspiring to go global.
Smart competitive and marketing strategies: From an early stage, Alibaba had been focusing on
differentiating itself by providing better services to its customer. It put an innovative business
model in place where customers could try out its services without any cost. Over time, it was able
to generate revenue from alternative streams and increase revenue as

The school leads the sex education and has the curriculum to first educate students. It is not only the
responsibility of the school or government; the parents also have responsibilities to teach their
children at home. According to A Parent s Guide, it says, Parents help their children form values
about relationships and behaviours and their sexual health. (Ontario, 2015) The schools, parents,
and communities are responsible for educations of children to feel involved in the changed and new
concept society has developed. Most parents tend to avoid this kind of communication with their
children. Parents are the most important role models to give the proper ideals on the issues. The
results and conclusions depend on the children, not the parents or communities. Parents should give
the right for the children to decide about the issues without forcing any specific opinions on them.
Society should give the opportunities to the children to face the challenges that come ahead, and
make decisions to solve problems based on the education they had in their childhood. With the

The Growing Critiques of MBA Programs
Recently critiques about MBA programs have increased in number. Many believe that management
education focuses on learning of managerial skills that are needed in current ever changing business
environment. Research conducted in the past suggested that individuals with a Master s degree in
Business Administration generally perform better in managerial positions than those who do not
hold an MBA degree (Baruch Peiperl, 2000). In a dissenting view however, the author noted that an
MBA qualification does not adequately equip students with both soft and hard skills which are
needed for effective management. In addition, Researchers argue that in management education, the
soft skills are ignored and the hard skills are emphasized.
Empirical studies (Boyatzis Renio, 1989) demonstrated that MBA programme has significant
positive effect on graduates managerial competencies but they contend that did not appear effective
in enhancing soft skills. In overall view, an assessment of how MBA graduates fared after attaining
MBA degree, led (Sturges, Simpson, Altman, 2003) to deduce that the graduates become more
effective managers who display self confidence, people management and team working skills. In
their study on the motivators of choosing a management course, Nyaribo, Prakash Owino, (2012),
concluded that MBA education should combine explicit knowledge of the basic disciplines with
the tacit knowledge that comes from practice in order to provide MBA graduates with a

there are accounts of his deep friendship between Stan and Kyle. Since the creators are best

A major reason for the difficult financial situation in France at that time was the increase in the
French population. Since the early 18th century, the population of France increased dramatically.
The country had 28 million people in 1789, from 8 to 10 million more than in 1700. Apart from
a few major cities (Paris, Lyon and Marseille), 80% of the population lived in the countryside.
This rural majority lived off the land. The farmers rented land of rich lords and need their pay

Analysis Of The Poem The Woman Warrior By Maxine Hong...
The Unescapable Net:
Tradition vs Transformation in Kingston s Ideology The Woman Warrior, written by Chinese
American author Maxine Hong Kingston in 1976, blends traditional Chinese folktales and memoir,
and portrays the early 20th century Chinese history in a Chinese American perspective. For Maxine,
it seems Chinese history means social and cultural constrains from conventional Chinese doctrines,
especially regarding the social status of womanhood, the blind collectivism, and superstition in old
China. Maxine s negative depiction of Chinese history partially reflects the bureaucracy of
patriarchal and feudal system in old China, but more importantly, reveals Maxine herself, a third
culture kid, as a paradox: she is eager to incorporate into the American mainstream society by
resisting her Chinese cultural background, but at the same time, her unconscious actions imply that
her Chinese background is a historical baggage that she could never discard of. By retelling
experiences and legends from her mother and even her grandmother s generation, Maxine suggests
how she as a Chinese American woman is in a awkward state between tradition and transformation,
and presents a cultural clash between America and China. Maxine s portray of women s role under
the male dominated society and feudal system suggests the first paradox in her ideology protesting
male dominance, but at the same time admitting it. Women, in ancient China, are usually treated as
lower social status and

Essay on America’s New Look as an Urban Nation
America s New Look as an Urban Nation
When the United States was founded as a nation after the Revolutionary War it was largely
agrarian in nature. Even when people lived in the village, that town was made up fewer that ten
houses on average and only occasionally had other buildings such as a school, church, or small
store. The people lived together for protection, and traveled out to their farm land everyday to till,
plant and harvest. With the advent of the industrial revolution staring in the early part of the
nineteenth century and then even more so with the information revolution of the 1960 s onward
people began moving away from the country and into the city because that was where they worked.
There were enough farms to support the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two other problems with an urban society were; gathering enough drinking water for the
increasing populous and disposing of waste. When Europe started to urbanize, they did not
realize the need for the latter and they had plagues that swept through their filthy cities. When
they had learned the lesson and provided adequate sewage disposal. Transportation of goods
could come into a city and be distributed to building sites. Therefore, railways and roadbeds that
could handle the traffic were needed. Also, people who live closer together tend to be
increasingly lawless. To maintain order, a police force had to be maintained. This public service
was accompanied by the need for a fire department and public utility workers that were not as
needed in the country.
When people move into a city there is going to be a division of labor that will eventually evolve
into a class structure. In the United States the Constitution was set up in Europe and other places
around the world. However, there will always be the gentried business owners, the middle class
merchants, the lower class factory workers and the poor. These four distinct groups seem to form
due to natural causes. It becomes class when it is difficult to move between the economic levels.
In the United States, people were able to move between the different classes if they chose, but it
continued to be a difficult change. The classes in the US were not developed

Canadian Food Research Paper
4 Canadian food Last Friday, my friend and I were taken to the cafeteria by Mr. Brian and ate
famous Canadian food, poutine, for the first time. Poutine is popular fast food in Canada, and it
includes deep fried potato with gravy and cheese curds. The appearance is not good, but the taste
is excellent. I was surprised to eat my first taste and I want to know Canadian foodmore. Basically,
Canadian food is mostly a mixture. A former prime minister in Canada, Joe Clark said, Canada
has a cuisine of cuisines. Not a stew pot, but a smorgasbord . It means that Canadian food is
influenced by various immigrants and all in all, the roots are First Nation, the UK, and France.
This is some examples of famous Canadian food, Pemmican from First Nation, Nanaimo bar from
Vancouver, poutine from France, and pancakes and maple syrup from the UK and New England.
Pemmican was introduced to the traders in the early 18th century and then mainly produced by the

There are various theories about the history of poutine, but the most widespread claim comes
from a restaurant in Warwick, Quebec in 1957. The owner is the first one to have served poutine
as we know it today and it has developed in stage and now there are a lot of flavor for poutine with
beef and lobster.
All in all, Canadian food was originated from other countries and have been developed in Canada.
It is commonly said that Canada is a melting pot of cuisines. As one of the reasons for the fact,
Canadian food connects with multiculturalism. As people migrated to Canada during the war, some
traditional food like poutine and pancakes were brought to Canada in the past. As the result,
multiculturalism in Canada was promoted and now food around the world are creating a culture of
Canada while intermingling. Therefore, as multiculturalism is progressed, Canadian food will vary

The Impact Of Media On The Reception, Perception And...
This essay I will attempt to demonstrate the fundamental influence that media has on its audience
in regards to the exercise of their democratic rights and obligations. I am going to analyse two
socio political phenomena, both prove the relevance of the media on the reception, perception and
comprehension of information, crucial for voters to make their democratic decisions. For this
purpose I will first depict/ describe the interaction between the media and the Argentine
presidencies of Nestor Kirchner (NK) and his wife, Cristina FernГЎndez de Kirchner (CFK), in
power between 2003 and 2015, detailing the hostile strategies they led so as to manipulate the
disclosure of information and the public opinion. I will then briefly contrast the Argentinean
phenomenon with the one taking place in the United Kingdom during the BREXIT campaign;
demonstrating how voters fell victim of an irresponsible performance both from the part of
politicians and from the media, who both built up divisiveness and secession rather than
consensus. Finally, after weighing/ considering research facts, I will present my own personal
perspective, drawing a conclusion of the situation as a whole when assessed under the light of the
theoretical work of D. Croteau and W. Hoynes in their book The Business of Media. Croteau
pointed out society depends on a shared collective vision, saying it enunciates/ defines the values,
beliefs and ideas of what a good society is. (D.Croteau W. Hoynes, The Business of

Quarterback Mobility And Its Impact On College Football...
The 2012 NFL season is over, and fans are left with little to do, except follow player cuts while
awaiting free agency and the rookie draft. While flipping through the latest news, I came across the
following headlines: o Titans looking to add zone read elements to offense o Quarterback mobility
takes on greater focus at Scouting Combine
The basis of these reports is that an influx of young quarterbacks has entered the NFL over the last
two years with new skill sets from those of the past. These players are QB / RB hybrids with
decent but not exceptional passing skills. Teams such as Carolina, Seattle, Washington, etc have
been modifying their offense to best utilize the players skills, namely by implementing the zone

oForces defenses to play against the unfamiliar; with limited practice time, they must prepare for
new keys and new techniques; the defense must remain extremely disciplined regarding their
assignments. o Forces defenders to tackle players who may or may not have the ball. o Forces
defenders to make good open field tackles on the perimeter. o Can convert a quick reflexed,
attacking defender into a spectator.
Weaknesses: o Relies heavily on training the QB to make proper reads . o QB often runs inside
the tackles, subjecting him to hard hits. o Fancy ball handling can lead to turnovers. o Passing
attack is usually limited. o A poor offense when playing from behind and trying to score quickly.
These strengths and weakness apply to most run option offenses, but it is important to keep in
mind that a there have been a great variety of such systems throughout football history. A brief
overview of the pros and cons of specific systems is listed below.
SPLIT T and WISHBONE
Strengths:
oIncludes triple or even quadruple options.
Weaknesses: o Compact formations do not spread the field horizontally. o Passing is extremely
limited (the field is not spread vertically).
VEER
Strengths:
oIncludes triple option. o Improved passing potential, including tailback passes. Weaknesses: o
Passing is still somewhat limited. o The QB is trained to force the contain defender to choose
between the pitch man and the QB. This is

Persuasive Speech on Global Warming Essay
PERSUASIVE SPEECH ON GLOBAL WARMING by: Jennifer Zelmer
Introduction: We all know about global warming, but do we really care or try to do at least some
of the things that will help stop it or at least slow it down?
1) Over the last century our planets temp. has risen 1 degree. I know that doesn t sound like much
but it s been enough to melt a lot of the polar ice caps and glaciers. A) The hottest years ever
recorded were in the late 1990 s and early 2000 s. B) In 2007 there was a massive polar ice melt
and the amount of glaciers and sea ice has decreased quite a bit since the 70 s. This has already
caused the sea levels to rise. C) The U.N. panel on climate change projects that by the end of this ...

C) And of course we can t forget the three R s. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Only buy what you
need , ruse whatever you can, like containers and paper, and recycle what you cannot reuse. It s
really as simple as that.
4) Th extra heat our homes produce also adversely affects the planet. A) By sealing and
insulating our homes better we can help stop that and save money on our energy bills. B) Also
instead of turning up the heat when your cold, put on an extra layer of clothes. Again you ll be
saving energy and money. C) If at all possible, use solar energy. After all it s free, all you have to
do is buy the equipment. And you would be helping to ensure that our ancestors still have a planet
to live on. D) Finally, by turning off unused power sources such as tv s and computers, again you
will be helping the environment as well as saving money on energy bills.
Conclusion: If we all would do as many things that we possibly can to help reduce greenhouse
gasses in our atmosphere, we would all be doing a great thing by helping to ensure that our grand
kids and theirs will still have this beautiful planet to live on and enjoy. Thank

Reflection On Man s Search For Meaning
A Reflection of Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning. In this paper I will be analysing
/ reflecting on Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning. In my reflection I will compare the
main philosophical message of frankl s experience and try to compare its meaning to my very
own life experience. In order to do this I must give you some personal background while
growing up I was born with some challenging complications due to a lack of oxygen at birth I
was diagnosed with ataxic cerebral palsy. The thing about ataxic cerebral palsy is that it has
affected my life in many ways some miniscule others immense. I can write an entire book on my
childhood / adolescence and some of the many challenges I have faced but that s neither here...

At the time I took extreme interest in Frankl s parable of comparing the actions of his comrades
to that of swine and others of saints to this day this still resonates with me. Here are people who
find themselves in one of the worst situations imaginable a nazi concentration camp these are
people with virtually no freedom and have experienced great pain and suffering but even in this
darkest hour Frankl explains that people still had to power to choose how they would react to
the situations presented to them. Now I am a libertarian by nature and I strongly believe in the
power of self determination but I even believe that some circumstances can influence man and
hinder his decision making skills . Take depression for example one of the worst things to say to
a person suffering with depression would be to chastise them with so called tough love
statements such as calling the person lazy and a loser in my opinion statements such as these
can only make the situation worse. The point I am trying to make is that the person with
depression is not living with the same reality as the rest of us while it s technically true it s their
fault for waking up at two in the afternoon for the third time in a week it s also true to state that
they only did so because their brain chemistry caused them to lose the proper amount sleep and
motivation to wake up on reasonable time. I use the example of depression because I

Similar to issue 1, collection remains to be the only problem. Again, just because corporations have up to 18 months to pay, does not mean that your company should defer the revenue until, the third alternative, collection. These larger accounts are most likely dependable and therefore collection should be probable. This should enable your business to recognize the revenue when the service is completed. The problems with the CRA discussed in issue 1, might be prevalent if revenue continues to be recognized at collection. Moreover, recognizing revenue earlier will increase your current net income by recognizing revenue for services you have completed in this period but have not yet collected. This will make your company appear to be more profitable, thus attracting investors. • 3. Feudalism Explain how the system known as feudalism worked in Medieval Europe. The bases of feudalism is best described as a social system in Europe throughout the Middle Ages where individuals worked and battled for upper class who gave them protection and the use of the land in return for their services (Merriam Webster). Feudalism is not a medieval term and not even a translation of a medieval concept (Abels 2010; Brown 2010; Bouchard 1998). In our day and time Feudalism would be difficult and baffling in several ways, but some may feel that we would benefit from it. During this time the social class depended on how much land you owned. What was its impact on the mission of the church? The Church was the absolute most predominant foundation in medieval life, its impact invading practically every part of individuals lives. Its religious observances often shape to the plan; its customs checked every minute in a person s life; and its lessons supported standard convictions about morals, the significance of life and existence. Church in Western Europe was recognized as the Roman Catholic Church went from the religion of the Roman Empire to the official religion and the most powerful institution of the Middle Ages. All of Europe had been converted to Christianity by the year 1000. Although this process was peaceful at times but other times it got downright ugly. The inclusion of the church in the system became a political reality. The unsettled conditions caused by the Viking and Magyar invasions forced church officials to enter into close relations with the only power able to offer them protection. Bishops and abbots thus became vassals, receiving fiefs for which they were obligated to provide the usual feudal services. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Softball is a great sport for a lot of girls that want to be active and even stay out of trouble. Softball can be great for starting conversation because on the field you always have to talk, so your teammates now what is going on and where everyone is on the field. But when you play softball you always have a rush of enjoyment, and nerves. Softball shows friendship by how the team comes together, we laugh, smile, and joke around all the time. Softball without friendship is almost like you are going into a war zone. Sometimes a team full of friendships, is a team that s not ready for big the big game, or a team that will be ready ever second for anything that could happen. A team like this will help each other improve on the simple things, like the perfect swing, or the perfect play. Friendship can win championships, because everyone knows what your strong point is, and talk to you when you aren t trying that hard. And when you know how to talk with everyone they will soon find out how important this is for everyone. And wantto help win the championship for the ones that want it most. • 6. The Theory Of Transformational Leadership The theory of transformational leadership is compelling and exciting. In our text, Leadership: A Communication Perspective, we read that the idea of transformational leadership was developed into a theory in the 1970 s by James MacGregor Burns; Burns saw transformational leadership as a more complex and potent form of management than mere transactional leadership(Hackman Johnson, 2013). Transactional leadership simply offers a traditional model of leading and following. Within this model, leaders offer to meet a follower s basic needs, and provide reward in exchange for effort. Transactional leaders see a work day as a series of transactions between themselves and their followers, and a manager s most important function is to maintain the status quo (Hackman Johnson, 2013). On the other hand, transformational leaders offer their followers the opportunity to become leaders by inspiring, empowering, and nurturing them. In these pages, we will explore how transformational leadership theory could provide a dynamic roadmap for a century old business as it evolves and transforms to meet new needs. Transformation Leadership as a Roadmap for Transition In addition to my role as an editor and writer for a non profit, I also run my own small business. They are the iconic American breakfast, and it ceases to amaze me how much in love people are with these delicious yet little deadly treats. It is not shocking at all that Americans will do anything for food; it is quite amusing that they will drive to a Donut Bank (Donut Bank 1), go through the drive through for some doughnuts. The least they could do is park their car, get off their lazy butts and walk themselves into the Bakery to purchase the doughnut. Burn three calories before eating two hundred. It has been recorded as early as 1350 BC in ancient Egypt. The smallpox disease is caused by the Variola virus which only inhabits the human organism. There are two forms of the disease major and minor. The major has a mortality rate of 20 40% of untreated individuals. Though major and minor eventually run the same course and the outcome is the same, the major has symptoms that are distinct from the minor form, including hemorrhaging both internally and externally. Early treatment of the disease was variolation, and was the only method of treatment until the vaccine was discovered by Edward Jenner. The World Health Organization (WHO)... Also affected by the virus, though not killed, were individuals that include: Elizabeth I of England, and Abraham Lincoln who was ill with disease during the Gettysburg Address.(Encarta 2000) Smallpox also has a record of decimating or contributing to the demise of great empires. The first stages of the decline of the Roman Empire coincided with an epidemic, the plague of Antonine, which caused the demise of approximately 3.5 7 million individuals. Smallpox also played a role in the destruction of the Aztec and Inca empires, brought over by the Spanish and the Portuguese conquistadors. With the introduction of Spaniards in Mexico in 1518, the population of natives declined from 25 million inhabitants to 1.6 million in 1620(Encarta 2000). The devastating effects of smallpox also gave way to its use as a biological weapon. The first known example of smallpox being used in that manner was found in a letter written to Colonel Henry Bouquet in 1763, where a Sir Jeffery Amherst, commander in chief of the British forces stationed in North America, suggested the ... • 10. The Principles Of Laser Doppler Flowmetry 2 Table of Contents Introduction and History1 The Principles Of Laser Doppler Flowmetry2 Clinical Applications4 Recent Developments4 Glossary5 Works Cited6 Introduction and History Laser Doppler flowmetry, or LDF, is a unique way to measure the microcirculatory blood flow without a painful or invasive procedure. LDF uses the Doppler shift theory as a way to transmit the information, with the scattering of light coming from the laser by way of the red blood cells. [A, B, C] Micro vascular applications have greatly benefited from this type of technology. The accuracy and reproducibility can be shown after years of extensive research. It can continuously monitor the blood flow and between every two to five seconds give an average output value. [E] The blood cell velocity in capillaries is too low to use the technique of the Doppler shift using ultrasound, as the frequencies of the sound that would reverberate back would be too small to identify. [B] Using the laser, calculations based upon the measurements between the primary light source s frequencies that were transferred towards the vasculature and the reflective light coming back towards the source can determine the blood flow s velocity. [B] This non destructive way to assess microcirculatory function has been around for approximately 40 years now in its realised state. The proposed device became experimentally plausible in 1972 when Riva used LDF for measuring retina vessels in rabbits. [D] Around 1980 another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Debate Over The Generation Everyone s been there; extended family gathered around the dinner table discussing life when someone makes the notorious comment; Get off your phone, your generation, all you care about is technology! The debate over Millennials being inadequate and too technology based has become frequent, the common argument from adults being that all Millennials care about is their phone. Yet adults have frequently stated this as they glance up from their phone as their fingers rapidly tap away on a screen. Adults can not continue to blame technology for Millennials lack of knowledge when they were the ones who raised us this way. Furthermore, contrary to belief, if anything technology has furthered Millennials growing intelligence, not damaged it. Therefore, although technological advances have been made, the common belief that Millennials are the dumbest generationis invalid due to the fact that millennials literacy and overall intelligence is increasing while the rigor of classes is skyrocketing. Technology seems to be the pinpoint of the argument of millennials being dumb. Millennials are always on their phone. Anytime something negative happens it always seems to relate back the that dumb phone. Yet contrary to this, technology has increased millennials intelligence levels, due to the fact that the digital world lowers barriers to self directed learning (Mizuko Ito Al.). • 12. The War Of North Carolina While trying to retrieve some nephews from a British prison ship, Andrew s mother also fell ill and died. An orphan and a hardened veteran at the age of fifteen, Jackson drifted, taught school a little, and then read law in North Carolina. After admission to the bar in 1787, he accepted an offer to serve as public prosecutor in the new Meroe District of North Carolina, west of the mountains, with its seat at Nashville on the Cumberland River. Arriving in 1788, Jackson thrived in the new frontier town. He built a legal practice, entered into trading ventures, and began to acquire land and slaves. Jackson s rise in Tennessee politics was meteoric, attesting to his strength of character. In quick succession, he was a delegate to the state constitutional convention in 1795, then Tennessee s first congressman, then a senator. He resigned his Senate post after one year to take a job closer to home, as judge of Tennessee s superior court. In 1802 he challenged Governor John Sevier for election as major general in command of the state militia. Jackson s senior by more than twenty years, Sevier was a veteran of the Revolution and of many Indian campaigns, and the state s leading politician. Jackson beat him for the generalship, but the aftermath brought the two men to a showdown in the streets of Knoxville, followed by preparations for a duel. • 13. Scarlet Fever Dbq The industrial revolution in the 19th century brought about a huge population exodus from the countryside into the cities by people seeking work. The massive influx forced the labouring classes to live in slums, where overcrowding was a key factor and where the spread of diseases such as diphtheria and scarlet fever were an ever present threat. The small houses could be home for as many as ten people, all living together in small unventilated rooms. Between the rows of terraced houses there were open drains and rubbish where children played, and water came from wells that were often polluted. The poor living conditions, long working hours in the mills, and low pay, all contributed to the general ill health of the population and the frequent spread of disease. Scarlet fever and diphtheria among many others were two of the most common diseases to effect children in the early part of the 1900s. Scarlet fever occurred mainly in those between the ages of 2 and 8, and was spread by droplets from carriers and affected individuals. Despite sore throat, headache, and fever, with red spots in the mouth and on the body, children would often continue to play with friends in the street and to mix with neighbours, thus allowing the disease to spread. Diphtheria was likewise highly contagious, generally affecting the throat but occasionally other mucous membranes and the skin. The principal treatment was isolation. Patients were taken from their homes and isolated in special fever hospitals for up to six weeks. This allowed time for their own immune system to fight off the infection and limited the risk of contamination between patients and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, a large bubble economy had been irritated by the growth, especially in the stock and asset price markets, the economy suffered a near catastrophic crash caused by speculative mania(Hall and Von Wiesen, 2014). The Japanese economy has stagnated after the collapse of bubble economy. The economic situation has been in a wide deflation. In the last two decades, Japanese government took several measures to solve the deflation problem and spur the economy. There are fiscal expansion, conventional monetary measures, Yen depreciation, bank recapitalisation, Quantitative Easing, and three arrows of Abenomics. But the situation did not change much, the balance sheet of the country shows continuous economic recession. The paper is organized in the following way. Egypt s farmers were depending on the river to flood the area, so that there would be fertile lands. With fertile lands, the farmers were able to plant crops, that wouldn t die and be healthy. The main crops that were planted in Egypt were cotton, corn, wheat, barley, rice, sugar cane, sorghum, fruits, vegetables, and dates. Every year, when the Nile River flooded, the soil was filled with nutrients for all these crops to grow. One thing that the Nile River really helped with, was that the river provided so many jobs to many people living in Egypt. Without the Nile River, there would be many unemployed, which means many that were impecunious. Having so many people with little money meant that for those who did work, they wouldn t get as much money because a lot of the people wouldn t be able to afford anything. Some of these jobs included farmers, because of the flooding so the farmers could plant crops. Then there were fishermen, who could fish from the Nile River to sell out to the people which was another way of having food. Jackson was born into poverty and as a result received very little education growing up. When The British invaded the Carolinas around 1780, Jackson s mother and two brothers were killed during the conflict and British soldiers took the young Andrew Jacksonprisoner, leaving him with a lifelong hostility toward Great Britain. • 20. The North And South During The Civil War Throughout the 19th century, the distinctions between the North and South in the United States were controversial. Prior to the Civil War, the North consisted of business owners and middle class men. The South consisted of mostly farmers. The North was industrial, using railroads and factories. The South was agricultural, with mostly farms and plantations. The North paid their labor workers. The South used slaves. Not only did their opposing views on slaveryand the separation of the two cultures, tensions arose that eventually led to one of the most gruesome wars in history. The North pushed for the abolition of slavery due to the immorality of it. Yet, some reports say otherwise. In the article To Forget and Forgive: Reconstructing the Nation in The Post Civil War Classrooms, Ginsburg states, Confederate authors explained Northern anti slavery sentiment in economic terms once Northern businessmen found slavery unprofitable, they abolished it and turned to slavery Fanaticism . These Southern authors believed that the North s anti slavery movement was a ploy for economic prosperity. As a result, this tension led to the fallout of the Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854, when both northern slave territories were either free states or remained slave states by the people. This was an opportunity for the government to leave the legislative branch of slavery with poor sovereignty. The states decided on slavery in hopes that it would have ended slavery controversy and avoid racism. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This study aimed to examine adolescents experiences with cyberbullying because, victims of cyberbullying often report feeling frustrated, angry, and depressed (Patchin Hinduja, 2010). Cyberbullying can have a negative impact on a youth s life and by conducting this study we can gain a better understanding of how cyberbullying manifests itself in adolescence s behavior, including suicidal thoughts and attempts. I would use a mixed methods approach to examine various aspects of cyberbullying, including students involvement in cyberbullying, reporting behaviors, and suicidal ideation or attempts. To gain more detailed information on the effects of cyberbullying on youths suicidal ideation and attempts, I would utilize both quantitative and qualitative data. Since cyberbullying itself is a complex issue combining both quantitative and qualitative data can help to enhance the theory of the research. I chose him because his style as an artist intrigues me and I wanted to get myself involved with more of his work. Michelangelo was born in Caprese, Italy in 1475 and died in Rome, Italy 1564 but buried in Florence . He is a well known sculptor painter, architect, and poet whom never married. The artist had many great works but there will be three in particular that has caught my eye that will be the focus of this paper. All of the pieces that I will be discussing are a part of the Renaissance period . The first piece that I will focus on is called Pieta (1499) in St.Peter s Basilica. This is a sculpture of what seems to be the virgin Mary and Jesus after he was crucified. This sculpture is a piece that was unique to me. As I looked at this piece it seemed in away almost life like but the way he sculpted Mary was bueatifully done. You can see the expression on her face and even the look of her garments that she wore were very detailed. I noticed the way this painting has a triangular approach. If u look from the top of her head where her veil starts to flow all the way to the floor or the feet of her son Jesus that is in the shape of the triangle. The picture shows so much emotion. It shows Jesus lifeless in his mothers arms. You can see fine details even little nail marks in his side. Exactly what does this sculpture portray I do not know but I do know that just from ... In contrast, Rick s lighting creates an exhausted image of the older night club owner. His key light casts shadows which emphasize wrinkles. This wearied picture of, complicates the relationship between Ilsa and Rick. Clearly Ilsa, who has wronged Rick, sympathizes and wants to reach out to him. However, her relationship with Lazlo precludes the possibility of Ilsa consummating her love for Rick. Thus, the lighting places a difference between Rick, a pathetic bachelor, and Ilsa, the innocent, angelic lady. The characters posses qualities that are both acceptable, however in this particular instance it s easy to believe that the audience still is glued to Rick and isn t fooled by the angelic portrayal of Ingrid Bergman s Ilsa. The fact that the tested children grouped the actions in accordance with the grammatical structure of their respective language is evidence for linguistic relativity, as both groups of children construe(d) the relations between objects in the world on the basis of their language specific categories, and not on the basis of some universal, conceptual categories (Dirven and Verspoor 1998:140 141). This suggests that the children from the two linguistic communities will partly see the world in a different way, being inclined to categorise the things they see in contrasting fashions. The Unescapable Net: Tradition vs Transformation in Kingston s Ideology The Woman Warrior, written by Chinese American author Maxine Hong Kingston in 1976, blends traditional Chinese folktales and memoir, and portrays the early 20th century Chinese history in a Chinese American perspective. For Maxine, it seems Chinese history means social and cultural constrains from conventional Chinese doctrines, especially regarding the social status of womanhood, the blind collectivism, and superstition in old China. Maxine s negative depiction of Chinese history partially reflects the bureaucracy of patriarchal and feudal system in old China, but more importantly, reveals Maxine herself, a third culture kid, as a paradox: she is eager to incorporate into the American mainstream society by resisting her Chinese cultural background, but at the same time, her unconscious actions imply that her Chinese background is a historical baggage that she could never discard of. By retelling experiences and legends from her mother and even her grandmother s generation, Maxine suggests how she as a Chinese American woman is in a awkward state between tradition and transformation, and presents a cultural clash between America and China. Essay on America’s New Look as an Urban Nation America s New Look as an Urban Nation When the United States was founded as a nation after the Revolutionary War it was largely agrarian in nature. Even when people lived in the village, that town was made up fewer that ten houses on average and only occasionally had other buildings such as a school, church, or small store. The people lived together for protection, and traveled out to their farm land everyday to till, plant and harvest. Two other problems with an urban society were; gathering enough drinking water for the increasing populous and disposing of waste. When Europe started to urbanize, they did not realize the need for the latter and they had plagues that swept through their filthy cities. When they had learned the lesson and provided adequate sewage disposal. Transportation of goods could come into a city and be distributed to building sites. Therefore, railways and roadbeds that could handle the traffic were needed. Also, people who live closer together tend to be increasingly lawless. To maintain order, a police force had to be maintained. This public service was accompanied by the need for a fire department and public utility workers that were not as needed in the country. When people move into a city there is going to be a division of labor that will eventually evolve into a class structure. In the United States the Constitution was set up in Europe and other places around the world. However, there will always be the gentried business owners, the middle class merchants, the lower class factory workers and the poor. These four distinct groups seem to form due to natural causes. It becomes class when it is difficult to move between the economic levels. In the United States, people were able to move between the different classes if they chose, but it continued to be a difficult change. The classes in the US were not developed ... Poutine is popular fast food in Canada, and it includes deep fried potato with gravy and cheese curds. The appearance is not good, but the taste is excellent. I was surprised to eat my first taste and I want to know Canadian foodmore. Basically, Canadian food is mostly a mixture. A former prime minister in Canada, Joe Clark said, Canada has a cuisine of cuisines. Not a stew pot, but a smorgasbord . It means that Canadian food is influenced by various immigrants and all in all, the roots are First Nation, the UK, and France. This is some examples of famous Canadian food, Pemmican from First Nation, Nanaimo bar from Vancouver, poutine from France, and pancakes and maple syrup from the UK and New England. • 46. The Impact Of Media On The Reception, Perception And... This essay I will attempt to demonstrate the fundamental influence that media has on its audience in regards to the exercise of their democratic rights and obligations. I am going to analyse two socio political phenomena, both prove the relevance of the media on the reception, perception and comprehension of information, crucial for voters to make their democratic decisions. For this purpose I will first depict/ describe the interaction between the media and the Argentine presidencies of Nestor Kirchner (NK) and his wife, Cristina FernГЎndez de Kirchner (CFK), in power between 2003 and 2015, detailing the hostile strategies they led so as to manipulate the disclosure of information and the public opinion. I will then briefly contrast the Argentinean phenomenon with the one taking place in the United Kingdom during the BREXIT campaign; demonstrating how voters fell victim of an irresponsible performance both from the part of politicians and from the media, who both built up divisiveness and secession rather than consensus. Finally, after weighing/ considering research facts, I will present my own personal perspective, drawing a conclusion of the situation as a whole when assessed under the light of the theoretical work of D. Croteau and W. Hoynes in their book The Business of Media. Croteau pointed out society depends on a shared collective vision, saying it enunciates/ defines the values, beliefs and ideas of what a good society is. (D.Croteau W. Hoynes, The Business of ... The 2012 NFL season is over, and fans are left with little to do, except follow player cuts while awaiting free agency and the rookie draft. While flipping through the latest news, I came across the following headlines: o Titans looking to add zone read elements to offense o Quarterback mobility takes on greater focus at Scouting Combine The basis of these reports is that an influx of young quarterbacks has entered the NFL over the last two years with new skill sets from those of the past. These players are QB / RB hybrids with decent but not exceptional passing skills. Teams such as Carolina, Seattle, Washington, etc have been modifying their offense to best utilize the players skills, namely by implementing the zone read option ... In my reflection I will compare the main philosophical message of frankl s experience and try to compare its meaning to my very own life experience. In order to do this I must give you some personal background while growing up I was born with some challenging complications due to a lack of oxygen at birth I was diagnosed with ataxic cerebral palsy. The thing about ataxic cerebral palsy is that it has affected my life in many ways some miniscule others immense. At the time I took extreme interest in Frankl s parable of comparing the actions of his comrades to that of swine and others of saints to this day this still resonates with me. Here are people who find themselves in one of the worst situations imaginable a nazi concentration camp these are people with virtually no freedom and have experienced great pain and suffering but even in this darkest hour Frankl explains that people still had to power to choose how they would react to the situations presented to them. Now I am a libertarian by nature and I strongly believe in the power of self determination but I even believe that some circumstances can influence man and hinder his decision making skills . Take depression for example one of the worst things to say to a person suffering with depression would be to chastise them with so called tough love statements such as calling the person lazy and a loser in my opinion statements such as these can only make the situation worse. The point I am trying to make is that the person with depression is not living with the same reality as the rest of us while it s technically true it s their fault for waking up at two in the afternoon for the third time in a week it s also true to state that they only did so because their brain chemistry caused them to lose the proper amount sleep and motivation to wake up on reasonable time. I use the example of depression because I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
