Analysis Of Wonder Woman
At First the World didn t Deserve Wonder Woman
When we think about the genre that is Superheroes, there are many names that come to mind
Superman, Thor, Batman, and Ironman to name a few. That the superhero world is a boy s club, were
the focus is on them saving the world and while there are women in the genre they have not been the
focus, but recently that changed with the release of Wonder Woman. Given the recent political issues
and what many feels is an attack on the female form, Wonder Woman was a bright light for not only
for women and little girls alike, but for the superhero genre as well. Wonder Woman is the ideal of girl
power and strength. She is as strong and courageous as any man; thus, she has earned the respect of
both females and males around the world.
We were first introduced to Wonder Woman during World War II, by William Moulton Marston, a
Harvard trained psychologist and lawyer. When we start with the obvious that being that Wonder
Woman was the first major superhero film with a woman as the lead, something that many felt would
never be successful, but with $103.1 million made on opening weekend and an entire gross of $409
million , this film was wildly successful, and included with that success it was also the biggest
opening ever for a female director . Many people however would argue that Catwoman that starred
Halle Berry was the first female superhero movie, but they would be remiss to learn that Catwoman
was never considered a superhero, but in

Ethnographic Interview Essay
Ethnographic studies can give insight into the way that stereotypes are seen and perceived in the real
world. Audrey Shalinsky defines ethnographic fieldwork as a scientific and artistic approach to the
description and analysis of cultural systems (Shalinsky, 968). I chose to do the ethnographic interview
as I wanted to learn about someone else s experiences and hear a different point of view than my own.
I interviewed one of my Cambodian friends who asked if their name could be omitted for privacy
purposes. He and I met at a Starbucks so that I could conduct my interview in a relaxed setting where
my interviewee would feel comfortable and open to talk about his experiences as someone from
Southeast Asian descent. Throughout my interview, I asked him what stereotypes he has encountered
and what stereotype he himself projects onto others. He talked about how he goes about his day to day
life and how that causes him to be stereotyped in a certain way and the way that he makes assumptions
about others based on their lifestyles and appearances. I wanted to mainly focus on the ways that he
has been racially stereotyped, but I also wanted to be able to analyze any other stereotypes that people
may have developed towards him. Also, I asked him how other people stereotyping him affect him
and why he thinks that other people create and use stereotypes to define people that they do not know.
Michael Pickering defines stereotyping as gain and loss and can change the social

NSWC PCD mission priorities are; timely innovative products and services across the life cycle,
competent world class workforce ready to meet the stakeholder requirements, and forward thinking
leadership in all mission areas (Overview, 2013).
Cyber Space Oversight Process
There are two directions for information and directives to drive strategic cyberspace decisions at
NSWC PCD. The first is always direction sent through the Navy command chain by either direction
from an Admiral and policy changes or through directives from N2/N6 at NAVNETWARCOM
through the CIO/IA command chain. Either path often leaves little room for choosing an interpretation
locally. However, either the upper management, Commanding Officer, Technical Director, and
technical department heads will meet and issue a local direction or in some cases directives flow from
N2/N6 to NAVSEA to The Warfare Center Headquarters to the Warfare Center CIO and/or IAM. In
the case of the latter path, more input, discussion, and interpretation is available at the local level. In
those cases the CIO will call a meeting of the IAM, IT Manager, IT Operations Manager, and other
key advisors to discuss the requirements and provide options on the how to meet those goals within
the strategic operation plan of the command. The CIO will then draft a local recommendation to be
presented at the CO/TD forum for upper

Themes Of Sacrifice In The Hunger Games And The Maze Runner
The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner are two best selling novels that both embrace the latest
craze of young adult dystopian literature. Both novels encompass the genre of science fiction and
accentuate the main theme of sacrifice, although the authors portray the themes in different ways. In
addition, the main character in the Hunger Games, Katniss and the main character in The Maze
Runner, Thomas are both impelled to fight for their lives in artificial worlds which serves as the main
conflict in both novels. However, the Hunger Games and The Maze Runner bare conspicuous
differences such as in the Hunger Games District 12 lives in poverty and have scarce amounts of food

The main characters in both novels have hope that they will be able to escape. In the Hunger Games
Katniss is put into an arena and is forced to fight in order to make it out alive. I really think I stand a
chance of doing it now. Winning. It s not just having the arrows or outsmarting the Careers a few
times, although those things help. Something happened when I was holding Rue s hand, watching the
life drain out of her. Now I am determined to avenge her, and I can only do that by winning and
thereby making myself unforgettable (242). Katniss is determined to win the Games and fight for her
life. In the end of the Hunger Games Katniss succeeded and made it out of the arena. Likewise, in The
Maze Runner Thomas and his friends are trapped in the Glade. The only way to escape the Glade is to
solve the Maze. Towards the end of The Maze Runner the Glade starts falling apart forcing Thomas
and his friends to work together and decode the Maze. Thomas and his friends decrypt the Maze and

The Allied forces were caught by surprise and unable to leverage their air assets due to heavy snow
storms in the Ardennes. The storm front effectively hindered both forces. On the northern shoulder,
Germany s 6th Panzar Division pushed forward attacking American positions on Elsenborn Ridge and
Losheim Gap. Deitrichs men were committed to battle, having met heavy resistance from the United
States 2nd and 99th Infantry Divisions. The smaller inferior Allied force was able to significantly
delay the German advance, quite possibly the most decisive actions of the Ardennes campaign. Hasso
von Manteuffel s 5th Panzar was successful in the center, opening a gap between the 28th and 106th
Infantry Divisions. Germans 5th Panzar s advancement was able to surround two regiments of the
106th Division, forcing their surrender. Manteuffels and Deitrichs forces were significantly challenged
in the town of St. Vith. The Allied forces successfully defended the road junction, holding the position
until ordered to evacuate on 21 December. These actions resulted in further set backs for the German
force. Additionally, Mantueffel s forces moved toward St. Vith and Bastogne, where they met heavy
resistance, delaying their progress for several days. By December 22nd the weather began to clear

invaluable to National Security and for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Closing Guantanamo bay
due to its questionable practices would open up a global security threat if the government set the

A Brief Note On The World Wide Web
The world wide web has a wide range of uses. From finding resources for research papers to
diagnosing diseases by Googling symptoms, the spectrum of its utility is endless. While the web might
be a great platform to find information, not all of the information out there is credible and thus using
the internet in place of a doctor is not acceptable and needs to stop, or at least be carried out warily.
It is understandable why one would prefer a quick Google search over a trip to the doctor s office. The
increasing cost of healthcare factors into why people prefer to look for answers for their medical
issues over the Internet. Healthcare can not only be expensive, but also stressful. Making an
appointment, driving down to the hospital, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A pictorial representation of the Pew Research Center statistics (pewinternet.org)
The first and foremost issue with resorting to the world wide web for answers to questions relating to
medicine is that a lot of the medical information available on the internet is not factual. Sites such as
WebMD are hilariously defined on urbandictionary.com as something that makes a mild cold into a
deadly disease that will kill you within the next 24 hours . It is not advisable to blindly accept and
assume a certain diagnosis on the basis of an online search. As Dr. Kevin Pho of KevinMD.com
pointed out, There s a lot of bad information on the Web and information that can be dangerous.
(CNN) Not every website out there has a real doctor sitting behind a desk, updating information on a
regular basis and modifying responses based on the independent cases of patients that seek out this
information. Most of the websites have false, unproven, biased information that could cause some
serious consequences if assumed to be true. Some websites go to the extent of

Kopi Luwak Essay
What is kopi Luwak?
Kopi Luwak is popularly referred to as a specialty of Indonesia. The name Kopi Luwak originated
from the Indonesian. The Kopi means coffee and Luwak means civet, it is also known as civet coffee.
Surprisingly, most of the people involved in the history of the coffee production, could not afford to
enjoy coffee in the past, until this unintended and incredible discovery came along.
During that time, Indonesia was a Dutch colony, and the nation s workers were in charge of the coffee
plantation. Also, the workers are restricted from harvesting coffee beans for their private uses. Instead
of accepting their fate on their favorite beverage, the workers discovered great opportunities in the
most challenging situations. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, the civet coffee is being produced in other Asia South Eastern nations like Vietnam, Philippines
and Laos, because of the high demand for the beverage by customers in the west and different regions.
Due to the high price, many producers tend to manufacture fake coffee products similar to Kopi
Luwak, or cheap coffee products made from the blend of actual kopi Luwak with low quality beans.
Under those circumstances, a lot of civet cats experience the terrible condition in the cages that are
dirty and empty. As a result of this, animals are doomed to eat beans and live in a small space of 2 by
1.5 meters of cement floor instead of staying in the natural environment as the producers advertise.
Also, the signs of animal unkindness have also been discovered during the production period, when
the wild animal s diet and life pattern are forced to change for commercial purposes of humans, and
the animals were not able to climb the cages because there is limited space to do that. Because of this,
kopi Luwak production and utilization must be strictly controlled by the local governments and
responsible organizations to prevent the extinction of wild civet cats.
What is the destiny of this unusual

Irene Williams Suicide
Yesterday, my father took me to the flat of Irene Williams. It was a beautiful little place, with big
windows looking out upon the busy street. She had lace curtains, a small pink couch made of velvet,
and a birch coffee table. On the table was a jar full of biscuits and a cup of tea, still hot. She had
pictures of friends, family, and relatives hung up on her walls. It s a shame I never got to meet Irene,
she seems like such a lovely person to talk to. But Irene Williams is dead, and let s face it, dead people
are boring to talk to. They never listen.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn s One Day Of The Life Of Ivan...
Alexander Solzhenitsyn s classic novel, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is a short novel about
a prisoner trying to survive a Soviet labor camp, known as the Gulag. Solzhenitsyn s writing style and
subject matter is similar to the pre Revolutionary writers than the writers of his time. Socialist realism
was the style of literature that was widely spread throughout Joseph Stalin s Soviet Union. Therefore,
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich consists mainly of socialist realist literature intended to
function as Communist propaganda, through optimistic and positive portrayals of workers satisfaction
on collective farms and in government factories. Thesis. The theme of work is prevalent throughout
the novella and throughout the history of the Soviet Union.
Soviet literature was increasing in popularity beginning in 1921. (DoaP). In the Soviet Union,
literature was to respond to social demand. The proletarians in literature had two goals: to root out
class alien culture, and to create new art forms in its place. The Cultural Revolution changed the face
of mass culture by means of industrialization and collectivization. Centralized institutions took over
local cultural production. On April 23, 1932, the Central Committee issued a decree On Restructuring
Literary Artistic Organizations , this created the new Writers Union. (PW)
Like many works of literature, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich may be seen as a social
commentary on the Soviet Union. The

Symbols And Techniques Used In Dunbar s They Wear The Mask
Hyperbole and metaphors used in the poem links to how everyone wears a mask once in the while and
has the same universal feeling of hopelessness. Dunbar goes on to note that the more you ignore
something, it lays dormant and may come back even bigger. In We Wear the Mask, Dunbar
exaggerates how changing can be beneficial and harmful because it can be concluded that all the
illusions and subdued emotions are just phony disguises of the painful truths that hide behind them.
Thus, people would want to disguise their pain because it makes them vulnerable. vulnerability is
often concealed and causes one to instinctively want to protect themselves from the ridicule of the
public. Changing external appearance can be detrimental because sometimes a sense of shame

The poem shows how he incorporates his testimonies into his poetry. We Wear the Mask is a lyrical
poem about the suffering of blacks, and how they wear a mask so that the world will never know. This
is about Dunbar s life because he is African American, and his own sufferings are like that of slaves.
Dunbar grew up poor, and his father left never to return. This caused a void in his life because he did
not have a father figure. Dunbar s life is similar to the poem because while he was happy to the public
behind closed doors issues were dreadful. In 1902 after he and his wife separated Dunbar succumbed
to depression. The end of his marriage and declining health drove him to get addicted to alcohol,
which further damaged his health . We Wear the Mask is about Dunbar s own internal suffering, and

Throughout history, social welfare policies have gained attention from society and our government.
Each era has expanded the social responsibility and awareness on issues that affect the social work

to benefit those in need of services. The Great Depression and the New Deal era started out strong in
economic wealth but came to halt when the stock market crashed. Unemployment became so high that

Symbolism Within The Time Machine By H. G. Wells
Within The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, Symbolism is used to give a deeper meaning into the
characters and context of the events that occur in the story. This symbolism is used to spark
interest, memory, and most importantly, emotions. The author uses biotic and abiotic things to trigger
these thoughts. They play huge roles when it comes to keeping the story going. The author even uses
the people themselves as symbols. Throughout the book it is listed that if humans become too soft or
delicate they become the prey. The author uses the Morlocks as the predator. The Morlocks are
another species of pale human that have turned to refusing to be delicate and self survival. They are
what moves the whole plot forward. The Morlocks eat the Eloi. This relationship is somewhat similar
to a farmer cattle relationship. As a result, the Eloi are taken advantage of due to their delicate nature.

The Roar Of Our Stars By Alice X
In the art work, The Roar of Our Stars by Alice X. Zhang, there are numerous details that are present.
In this piece there is a sky that starts off as dark blue and red towards the bottom, but as it gets to the
top it transitions to a less dark blue, and then to a light blue with a touch of a light red on the left side.
Across the sky there are what seems to be hundreds of white points with yellow tints that start off
distinct and small towards the bottom, while growing in size and have a faded look as they go up the
image. These points that represent stars each have red, white, orange, and blue glares that run up and
down vertically. These stars create a cluster towards the top left corner that creates a slightly blurred
white light. Centered on the bottom half of the page, there is a person in a light brown tweed jacket, a
white button up collared shirt with thin strips, and a red bowtie. This brown haired man is staring up,
smiling with his mouth ajar, towards the main cluster of stars that are creating the light shinning down
on him with his hands slightly raised at chest level.
In The Roar of Our Stars, there are many different visual elements that are present. The colors of this
image are one of the main elements that gives this piece of work its distinct look. The colors that are
located in this image are polychromatic and consist of: black, blue, red, orange, yellow, green, brown,
white, and a peach like flesh tone. The blues, reds, oranges, and whites mainly are

Second stage diabetes and bone degeneration can form over time losing strength as the athlete

Performance enhancement drugs also promote cheating in sports to be allowed. The violation of
cheating in a competitive aspect of sports gives an unfair advantage from the opposition they re going

How Is Celie Presented In The Color Purple
In the novel, The Color Purple, a character by the name of Celie is described as being oppressed. She
is oppressed throughout most of her life, especially as a child. She is constantly being put down by
men that see or talk to her. However, Celie is strong willed and that strength is channeled through how
she deals with how she was treated while being backed by the people who respect her and unified
through the love her and her sister share. Celie s strength is signified from how the men treated her
because every time they attacked her, verbally or physically, she took it and never gave it back. The
first example you see is in the very beginning as it shows her father taking her baby and finding out
that he took another before and they were both sired by him. Another example is when a character by

Shug respect her. The other character that respected Celie is Sofia as Celie helped her when she

King, is the desire for recognition, importance, and attention. In the sermon The Drum Major Instinct,

Children Should NOT Be In The Military
Have you ever thought about the kids that fight in war. Well that s a big problem Kids shouldn t be in
the military fighting, there are also people that want to prosecute them. I don t think that they should
be prosecuted because their to young to be prosecuted. There also to young charges to be pressed. One
reason why they shouldn t be prosecuted is because They were forced by either drugs or they were
brainwashed into doing killing. They were also forced to kill if they don t they would get killed, they
also made false promises. And most of them were kidnaped from their parents and villages. But some
kids join without being forced, they joined to avenge their family members. Children are easier to

Humor In Ernest Thayer s Casey At The Bat
In Casey at the Bat, Ernest Thayer uses humor in veriest ways. He uses humor to describe how the
audience reacts to certain experiences at the baseball game. One of the techniques he uses is figurative
language. An example of humor is when he uses personification in writing, Five thousand tongues
applaud. . When people image this in their minds they see someone with their mouths open and their
tongue clapping, this image is amusing. Another way Ernest uses humor is by when he wrote about the
umpire calling a strike and the crowd stated yelling kill him.The audience was getting worked up
because they think Casey is the best player, and he doesn t deserve a strike. Also, another example is

Ratios Analysis In Financial Analysis
Ratios analysis is quantitative analyses of financial statements. They can generally be categorized into
profitability, liquidity, gearing and valuation ratios (BBP P3, 2014). Ratio is used as a yardstick for
assessing the financial position and business performance of the organization. It is a helpful tool to
analyze and produce a meaningful interpretation of financial statements. This technique helps in
decision making process and finding out the relationship between different trends and ratios

SWOT analysis is a framework that identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of

Internal factors
The strengths and weaknesses relate to the availability and utilization of resources and capabilities to

Persuasive Speech On Greenpeace
Greenpeace The world we live in today is dying. From the pollutants in the air and water to the litter
on the ground, we as humans and organisms living on this world are actively aware of how we are
harming it, yet we continue to do the same. No matter if you believe this affects climate change and
global warming or not, it is common knowledge to know the actions we take every day, whether its
driving to work or school, burning your trash, or the abundant use of plastic, affects the environment.
So long as we continue to hurt our environment we continue to worsen the air we breathe, the water

A few activists began to protest since the testing was on fault line and they feared it might cause an
earthquake leading to a tsunami. These activists were the founders of the Don t Make a Wave
Committee which would turn into Greenpeace. The name came during one of their meetings when one
of the members, Irving Stowe, flashed the peace sign as was his custom and said Peace . On that
occasion, the usually rather quiet Canadian ecologist Bill Darnell made the off hand reply: Make it a
green peace. Wife of a US Navy veteran, Marie Bohlen came up with the idea to sail a boat out to the
testing site to protest by mere presence. They funded this by hosting a concert and recording that
concert on to CDs. Roughly sixteen thousand people attended the concert and they raised over
$23,000. They used this money to charter a ship and went to sail out to the site to prevent the testing.
The US Navy intercepted them preventing them from accomplishing their mission, but upon return
they learned that the media caught wind of this story and the group and their mission gained a lot of
public attention. They were unable to prevent that test fire, but the rest of the tests that were planned
after that were cancelled and the island was later declared as a bird sanctuary. ( History, n.d.) This was

Robert Smithson Plural Jetty Essay
Robert Smithson s Spiral Jetty is a 3ft. 6 in. x 15 ft. x 1,500 ft. Earthwork located in Great Salt Lake,
Utah. It was created in April 1970. Located where the rails of the first transcontinental railroad met, it
sits near the Golden Spike monument; making it an actual landscape. It s a giant counterclockwise
spiral sculpture made of black rock, earth, algae, and salt crystals. It is said that Smithson used dump
trucks and bulldozers to haul in 6,650 tons of earth and rocks to complete the Spiral Jetty. In a 32
minute short color film, he recorded the construction of the Spiral Jetty. Smithson had to acquire land
rights, before completing it. Virginia Dwan Gallery of New York gave Smithson a $9,000 grant for a
part of the Spiral Jetty s construction. The rest was financed over a 20 years lease at payments of $100
annually. The first phase of building the Spiral Jetty took about 6 days to complete. Smithson was not
completely satisfied with it initially and spent another 3 days changing the shape. 7,000 tons of rock
had to be moved during these 3 additional days of work. Smithson died 3 years after completing the
Spiral Jetty. It is now owned by the state of Utah, who acquired it in 2011. ... Show more content on

Introduction
Solvent extraction is dependent on the two liquids having different polarities so that they do not mix
with each other (Example Crude oil and water). When these two liquids are mixed together they form
separate layers, these two liquids would therefore be described as immiscible.
A lot of organic acids cannot be dissolved in water although can be dissolved when placed in organic
solvents. However, their sodium salts are soluble when mixed with water and insoluble when mixed
with organic solvents. This is mostly down to the salts being ionic and the acids are almost completely
undissociated. Sodium salts can be formed by the reaction of an organic acid with aqueous sodium
hydroxide.
RCOOH + NaOH  RCOO Na + H2O
Aim
The aim of the experiment was to purify an organic acid and to synthesise crystals of the organic
solvent. These crystals would then be used to determine the melting point and to calculate the mass of
the sample obtained.
Experimental
20cm3 of organic acid was measured in a measuring cylinder and transferred to the separating funnel.

Images of Great Depression migrants often depict white families, impoverished farmers whose crops
have been destroyed by dust storms, and people who have no choice but to escape to California in
search of job opportunities (Shindo, 26). The oral history interview of Vera Jones Bailey about her
experiences growing up in Kansas and Missouri and her move to California during the Great
Depression both typifies and challenges those assumptions (Dunning, 1, 8). This interview was one of

Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Essay
Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Nowadays, stereotypes seem to be the way we justify
and categorize society. It can also be said that stereotypes are one way in which we define the world in
order to see it. Because, if the world isn t defined, then how can we as people, grasp the concept of it?
How do we justify our action, and those of others? People often, prejudge others or objects by
grouping them into categories or styles they are familiar with, and then treat them by their experiences
or just follow what other people usually do, without questioning their actions and motives. That causes
miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are
usually formed based on an individual s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people.
The appearance of a person in general is one of the most important causes of stereotypes. People
usually tend to stereotype a person from what they see and think. In Brent Staples Just Walk On By: A
Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space, he experienced a certain stereotype from a white
woman because of his appearance. He explained, To her, the youngish black man a broad six feet two
inches with a bread and billowing hair, both hands shoved into the pockets of a bulky military jacket
seemed menacing close (Staples 394). That white woman labeled Staples as a dangerous person who
might hurt her, so she ran away as soon as she could. In other words, people

The Influence Of Pornography
Simon Lajeunusse, a Canadian scholar who was wishing to research the impact pornography has on
young men, was unsuccessful due to being unable to find a control group of males who have not
already viewed pornography (Weiss par. 1). Although the typical pornographic videos streamed via the
Internet are what most people today believe to be the defining form of pornography, it is also
displayed in many other mediums and has been for thousands of years. Most people see the word
pornography and immediately assume the worst, but they do not know the true definition or the
history of the 11 lettered word. From its early forms of paintings on ancient Roman walls, and risqué
novels during the Renaissance, to the creation of photography in the 1800s, and the booming of videos
on the Internet in the 1990s, pornography has been through it all. Pornography is one of the most
controversial topics of all time, and because of its vast meanings and forms, there are several differing
views. The saying, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, is very relevant when it comes to the topic of
pornography. One person s view of pornography could be another s view of beautiful art; This is when
the controversy takes place. Some people believe pornography is harmful to women because of the
degrading and violent acts toward them in most pornographic material; Others agree but believe there
are other forms of pornography, erotic material, which could benefit a viewer and a relationship. Some

Essay about Argentina
Argentina
Europeans arrived in the region with the 1502 voyage of Amerigo Vespucci. Spanish navigator Juan
Diaz de Solias visited what is now Argentina in 1516. Spain established a permanent colony on the
site of Buenos Aires in 1580. They further integrated Argentina into their empire following the
establishment of the Vice Royalty of Rio de la Plata in 1776, and Buenos Aires became a flourishing
port.
Buenos Aires formally declared independence from Spain on July 9, 1816. Argentines revere General

New social and political forces were seeking political power. These included the modern military and
the labor movement that emerged from the growing urban working class.
The military ousted Argentina s constitutional government in 1943. Peron, then an army colonel, was
one of the coup s leaders, and he soon became the government s dominant figure as minister of labor.
Elections carried him to the presidency in 1946. He aggressively pursued policies aimed at giving an
economic and political voice to the working class and greatly expanded the number of unionized
workers. In 1947, Peron announced the first five year plan based on nationalization and
industrialization. He presented himself as a friend of labor and assisted in establishing the powerful
General Confederation of Labor (CGT). Peron s dynamic wife, Eva Duarte de Peron, known as Evita
(1919 1952), helped her husband develop his appeals to labor and women s groups. Women obtained
the right to vote in 1947.
Peron won reelection in 1952, but the military deposed him in 1955. He went into exile, eventually
settling in Spain. In the 1950s and 1960s, military and civilian administrations traded power. They

I. Introduction
Asexual Propagation is the process of using plant materials such as the stems, leaves, and roots to
multiply the number of plants. These plants eventually grow to be a brand new plant that is genetically
identical to the parent plant it came from. In several types of plants, asexual propagation is the fastest
means of new plant growth. Asexual propagation is also a good way to maintain a plant species
because they are genetically identical. In this process, adventitious roots are seen in the growing cycle.
Adventitious roots are those that grow form parts of the plant that they normally would not grow from.

large cutting then make four V shaped cuts into it, two with tips up and two with tips down. Also to
test polarity, take two cuttings from the Umbrella Palm, take two cuttings that both still have the tips

History Of Fabric And Textiles Textile Development During...
The history of fabric and textiles
Textile development during the Industrial Revolution (1780 1850)
In 1968, Eric Hobsbawm said: Whoever says Industrial Revolution says cotton. Among many
historians the Industrial Revolution is considered as the process in which technological changes led by
the mechanized factories of the cotton industry created large profits for innovators that continued in
succeeding decades. It was the key event in the emergence of modern economic growth, which led to
shifting manufacturing from people s houses and shops to factories. It was a time of vivid change,
from hand tools and handmade items, to the products which were produced by machines.
Nevertheless, life improved, the industrial revolution had some harmful consequences, such as
increased pollution, harmful working conditions, employment of women and children, who were made
to work long and hard hours, etc.
The shift to factories in the United States grew out of a process that began in the British textile
industry. British inventors developed machines to do tasks that have been done by hand. Sometimes
the machines replaced other, older and weaker machines. For example the spinning jenny, which was
run by water power, replaced the spinning wheel; the power loom replaced the hand loom. These
machines were small enough to be placed in the cottages. But later, people invented bigger and more
powerful machines, which needed a huge space to be positioned. This was the reason why people
started to

Summary Of The MovieThe Martian 2014
The Martian 2015 is a very entertaining science fiction film which is accredited for its scientific
accuracy. However, some artistic liberties were taken to make the movie easier to make and progress
the plot. This paper will cover both accurate and inaccurate areas of space science featured in the film.
The portrayal of Mark Watney s separation, habitation of mars, and recovery will all be analyzed. The
way Mark gets separated from the crew is an area of inaccuracy. There are storms on mars, but the
strength of them would be much less significant. Mars has no atmosphere so the winds would not be
able to knock over the ship [1]. Though the storms may be dangerous to humans due to flying debris,
such a large ship would not be so affected. The debris would not be as dangerous as shown. Even the
strongest winds, up to 60 mph, on mars would have trouble keeping the astronauts from moving
around, and would have a tough time picking up anything even remotely tied down [1]. The chance of
debris knocking someone back and impaling them like what happened to Mark Watney would be very
unlikely. The way habitation of Mars is portrayed is a mixed bag of accuracy. The gravity on Mars is
30% that of the earth, yet Watney moves around like any earthling [2]. This makes the movie easier to
film, and if they had attempted to portray the gravity accurately, there would have been inaccuracies
anyway.
Radiation seems to be ignored almost completely besides for the device he uses to heat his rover.
Being on mars for extended periods of time would increase the chances of cancer. NASA only allows
200 rem per year [4], which Watney would almost certainly exceed being on a planet with no
atmosphere to protect from the Sun s radiation. This was probably left out as it would likely not have
immediate effects on Watney but it s still a big concern for real astronauts. Communication was
portrayed fairly accurately. The movie says the communication speed is 30 minutes there and back.
Since mars is 54.6 million miles away, data traveling at the speed of light would take 3 minutes to get
there [2]. Once data processing, inaccuracy, and other factors are accounted for, 30 minutes is realistic.

Analysis Of Wonder Woman At First the World didn t Deserve Wonder Woman When we think about the genre that is Superheroes, there are many names that come to mind Superman, Thor, Batman, and Ironman to name a few. That the superhero world is a boy s club, were the focus is on them saving the world and while there are women in the genre they have not been the focus, but recently that changed with the release of Wonder Woman. He and I met at a Starbucks so that I could conduct my interview in a relaxed setting where my interviewee would feel comfortable and open to talk about his experiences as someone from Southeast Asian descent. Throughout my interview, I asked him what stereotypes he has encountered and what stereotype he himself projects onto others. He talked about how he goes about his day to day life and how that causes him to be stereotyped in a certain way and the way that he makes assumptions about others based on their lifestyles and appearances. I wanted to mainly focus on the ways that he has been racially stereotyped, but I also wanted to be able to analyze any other stereotypes that people may have developed towards him. Also, I asked him how other people stereotyping him affect him and why he thinks that other people create and use stereotypes to define people that they do not know. Michael Pickering defines stereotyping as gain and loss and can change the social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sebastian Watson Group 4 Monday 201743456 Equipment list Organic Acid Dilute sodium hydroxide solution Separating funnel Stopper Clamp stand Dilute hydrochloric acid Measuring cylinder Glass rod Congo red Paper Buchner Funnel Hotplate Beaker Melting point apparatus Thermometer Funnel Introduction Solvent extraction is dependent on the two liquids having different polarities so that they do not mix with each other (Example Crude oil and water). When these two liquids are mixed together they form separate layers, these two liquids would therefore be described as immiscible. A lot of organic acids cannot be dissolved in water although can be dissolved when placed in organic solvents. However, their sodium salts are soluble when mixed with water and insoluble when mixed with organic solvents. This is mostly down to the salts being ionic and the acids are almost completely undissociated. Sodium salts can be formed by the reaction of an organic acid with aqueous sodium hydroxide. RCOOH + NaOH  RCOO Na + H2O Aim The aim of the experiment was to purify an organic acid and to synthesise crystals of the organic solvent. These crystals would then be used to determine the melting point and to calculate the mass of the sample obtained. Experimental 20cm3 of organic acid was measured in a measuring cylinder and transferred to the separating funnel. This was

Dust Bowl California Oral History Images of Great Depression migrants often depict white families, impoverished farmers whose crops have been destroyed by dust storms, and people who have no choice but to escape to California in search of job opportunities (Shindo, 26). The oral history interview of Vera Jones Bailey about her experiences growing up in Kansas and Missouri and her move to California during the Great Depression both typifies and challenges those assumptions (Dunning, 1, 8). • 32. Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Essay Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Nowadays, stereotypes seem to be the way we justify and categorize society. It can also be said that stereotypes are one way in which we define the world in order to see it. Because, if the world isn t defined, then how can we as people, grasp the concept of it? How do we justify our action, and those of others? People often, prejudge others or objects by grouping them into categories or styles they are familiar with, and then treat them by their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without questioning their actions and motives. That causes miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are usually formed based on an individual s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people. The appearance of a person in general is one of the most important causes of stereotypes. People usually tend to stereotype a person from what they see and think. In Brent Staples Just Walk On By: A Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space, he experienced a certain stereotype from a white woman because of his appearance. He explained, To her, the youngish black man a broad six feet two inches with a bread and billowing hair, both hands shoved into the pockets of a bulky military jacket seemed menacing close (Staples 394). That white woman labeled Staples as a dangerous person who might hurt her, so she ran away as soon as she could. In other words, people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although the typical pornographic videos streamed via the Internet are what most people today believe to be the defining form of pornography, it is also displayed in many other mediums and has been for thousands of years. Most people see the word pornography and immediately assume the worst, but they do not know the true definition or the history of the 11 lettered word. From its early forms of paintings on ancient Roman walls, and risqué novels during the Renaissance, to the creation of photography in the 1800s, and the booming of videos on the Internet in the 1990s, pornography has been through it all. Pornography is one of the most controversial topics of all time, and because of its vast meanings and forms, there are several differing views. The saying, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, is very relevant when it comes to the topic of pornography. One person s view of pornography could be another s view of beautiful art; This is when the controversy takes place. In several types of plants, asexual propagation is the fastest means of new plant growth. Asexual propagation is also a good way to maintain a plant species because they are genetically identical. The history of fabric and textiles Textile development during the Industrial Revolution (1780 1850) In 1968, Eric Hobsbawm said: Whoever says Industrial Revolution says cotton. Among many historians the Industrial Revolution is considered as the process in which technological changes led by the mechanized factories of the cotton industry created large profits for innovators that continued in succeeding decades. It was the key event in the emergence of modern economic growth, which led to shifting manufacturing from people s houses and shops to factories. It was a time of vivid change, from hand tools and handmade items, to the products which were produced by machines. Nevertheless, life improved, the industrial revolution had some harmful consequences, such as increased pollution, harmful working conditions, employment of women and children, who were made to work long and hard hours, etc. The shift to factories in the United States grew out of a process that began in the British textile industry. British inventors developed machines to do tasks that have been done by hand. Sometimes the machines replaced other, older and weaker machines. For example the spinning jenny, which was run by water power, replaced the spinning wheel; the power loom replaced the hand loom. These machines were small enough to be placed in the cottages. But later, people invented bigger and more powerful machines, which needed a huge space to be positioned. This was the reason why people started to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Summary Of The MovieThe Martian 2014 The Martian 2015 is a very entertaining science fiction film which is accredited for its scientific accuracy. However, some artistic liberties were taken to make the movie easier to make and progress the plot. This paper will cover both accurate and inaccurate areas of space science featured in the film. The portrayal of Mark Watney s separation, habitation of mars, and recovery will all be analyzed. The way Mark gets separated from the crew is an area of inaccuracy. There are storms on mars, but the strength of them would be much less significant. Mars has no atmosphere so the winds would not be able to knock over the ship [1]. Though the storms may be dangerous to humans due to flying debris, such a large ship would not be so affected. The debris would not be as dangerous as shown. Even the strongest winds, up to 60 mph, on mars would have trouble keeping the astronauts from moving around, and would have a tough time picking up anything even remotely tied down [1]. The chance of debris knocking someone back and impaling them like what happened to Mark Watney would be very unlikely. The way habitation of Mars is portrayed is a mixed bag of accuracy. The gravity on Mars is 30% that of the earth, yet Watney moves around like any earthling [2]. This makes the movie easier to film, and if they had attempted to portray the gravity accurately, there would have been inaccuracies anyway. Radiation seems to be ignored almost completely besides for the device he uses to heat his rover. Being on mars for extended periods of time would increase the chances of cancer. NASA only allows 200 rem per year [4], which Watney would almost certainly exceed being on a planet with no atmosphere to protect from the Sun s radiation. This was probably left out as it would likely not have immediate effects on Watney but it s still a big concern for real astronauts. Communication was portrayed fairly accurately. The movie says the communication speed is 30 minutes there and back. Since mars is 54.6 million miles away, data traveling at the speed of light would take 3 minutes to get there [2]. Once data processing, inaccuracy, and other factors are accounted for, 30 minutes is realistic. (54.6 x 10^6 km)(1 hour/1.079 x 10^9 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gangster film has a certain formula, where any country can use its intrinsic convections, but it s also adaptable enough to conform with any particular country s context without losing its inherent meaning.
