Presentation introducing My Learning Pool at the Manchester Net Tuesday meeting on June 28th 2011.
My Learning Pool is a cost effective e-learning website for the voluntary & community or non-profit sector
New for 2011 is My Learning Pool - a suite of online bite sized chunks of learning which can be bought and used to help improve you and your organisation.
We know that one-off learning events or experiences don't work. Learning is not transferred into practice and most learning is not used on the job. Learning and behavioural change is not easy. The growing interest in the 70:20:10 learning model reflects the need for L&D to focus on more than just courses. Designing how the components will work together can sometimes be challenging. Learning campaigns are a powerful approach to overcoming many of these challenges.
Topics to be covered include:
- The process for designing a learning campaign
- Push compared to pull learning campaigns
- How digital learning technologies can be used in a learning campaign
Little MBA is a fundraising project for MBA Charity Challenge of Operation Santa Claus 2013. It provided workshops for primary school students covering leadership, teamwork, strategic thinking and personal finance management skills.

Workplace Learning - Why, How and What you can do as EmployersShorebird RPO
One of the predictions Michael Millward made at the start of 2015 was that the way in which people learn at work would start to visibly change during the year.
Work place learning is increasingly unlike the learning experiences people have in the academic sector, and more in line with how businesses source other goods and services.
During this recorded webinar Michael has:
Describe how work place learning is changing
Explain the reasons why this is happening
Explore how different types of employees and industries are managing these changes
Demonstrate how to adapt successfully to the changing work place learning landscape.
This on demad webinar will be appeal to learning and development specialists and purchasers of employee development products and services.
We’re hearing it everywhere: today’s workers are learning every day, in a variety of ways, on and offline. In fact, more than 70 percent of workers surveyed say they learned something useful for their job from an article, a video or a book in the last 24 hours. Yet at the organization level, very little data is captured on what employees are learning in the course of doing their jobs. Regularly, measurement ends when the training program is over, and the details captured are minimal.
With the rise in informal learning opportunities comes the increasing need for a mechanism to assess how well learners are retaining their newfound knowledge. Join CredSpark and Degreed to better understand:
Why it is essential to assess and capture metrics around informal learning
Best practices for implementing informal learning assessments as a method of engagement to reinforce the learning taking place.
How to leverage findings from assessments to provide the learner specific opportunities to identify skill gaps

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
