Essay about The Fight Against Child Pornography
In recent years, pornography has established itself as perhaps the most controversial topic arising out
of the use of the Internet. The easy availability of this type of sexually explicit material has caused a
panic among government officials, family groups, religious groups and law enforcement bodies and
this panic has been perpetuated in the media.
One of the unique challenges to regulating or settling on the appropriate way to regulate is that there is
no concrete definition of pornography. While law enforcement bodies such as the police, prosecutors
and judges, are accustomed to dealing with issues that are exclusive to the United States, the Internet
is a worldwide community with servers and members coming ... Show more content on

The second real issue is finding a way to regulate and enforce the removal of material that is agreed
upon as being inappropriate for anyone to have on the Internet. I am specifically touching on the issue
of child pornography. While it is illegal in the United States, as it is in many countries, government
and law enforcement officials are having a difficult time catching offenders who post this type of
material. So with this type of problem concerning pornography this issue is not deciding on
appropriate means of regulation, but rather how to enforce the regulation already in place.
It is obvious that for years, the government has been trying to regulate this type of content but has
seen very limited success. Part of the reason for this is because certain regulatory actions intended to
protect only a small group, such as children, should not require the prohibition of material that adults
have access to in other arenas. It is for example, legal for people to rent pornographic movies or buy
nude magazines, so distribution of this type of material on the Internet should not be completely
limited. People shouting out for protection of their 1st Amendment rights have made a good point
when arguing against complete censorship. What seems more feasible is a sort of multi layered
approach to regulate illegal and harmful content on the Net. This would make it possible to form some
sort of insulation for children

Purpose Of The Study And Its Scientific Rigor
Purpose of the Study and the its Scientific Rigor
For the study s purpose, MDD is separated into two different categories based on the age of onset:
EOD and LOD. Previous studies have indicated that EOD patients suffer more suicide attempts,
irritability, sadness, childhood onset anxiety disorders, neuroticism, and other atypical symptoms than
LOD patients. Additionally, it has been found that EOD patients have a high familial risk of MDD.
Though psychological and genetic correlations have been studied, little attention has been dedicated to
the psychobiological differences between EOD and LOD in MDD.

The CIVET pipeline is used to is developed by McGill to analyze a large volume of MRI images and
other cortical metric functions (Centre, 2016). It was used to measure cortical thickness, a 3T GE short
bore MRI system and a standard quadrature head coil were used to acquire TI weighted anatomical
brain scans in the sagittal orientation. Throughout a period of 6 years, 176 MRI scans were collected.
However, after assessing the scans for wrap artifacts, gross anatomical abnormalities, or excess
movement, 30 scans failed because of having these discrepancies. Of the remaining, five scans failed
because of the lack of subject HAM D or BDI II scores and/or age of onset information. The 141 scans
that passed these requirements were processed through the CIVET pipeline. 28 of the scans failed the
CIVET pipeline, leaving a total sample size of 113 scans.
Analysis of Scientific Rigor
The study by Wanda Truong et al. describes all the controlled variables contributing to the research s
legitimacy. The process of discarding unqualified scans suggests that the experiment design has taken
standard measurements into consideration, improving the reliability of the results. In this case,
appropriate statistical data analysis, such as ANOVA, chi square tests, student t tests, and Pearson
correlations, were applied to ensure the accuracy of the findings. Furthermore, the experiment can be

The Confederation Act of 1867 Essay
The Confederation act of 1867 without question has had a major influence on the status of
contemporary Canada. It has helped shape Canada into one of the worlds most politically and
economically powerful countries; a country that is strong, independent, and united. There was a series
of events which led to the confederation of Canada, some which are more significant than others.
However, I believe that despite the significance of events such as the British encouragement of uniting
its North American colonies, the central and key reason for confederation was the fear of potential
American (Yankee) inhabitance (whether by persuasion or invasion) of the divided and vast British
North American colonies, and the way that the Fathers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John A. Macdonald, the prime minister of Canada at the time, had seen first hand the effect of divided
colonies and the devastating impact that it could have on a nation. However, there was a serious and
impending threat against the colonies of Canada from the northern United States, not only because of
the British support of the southern states during the war, but also because of three specific events: The
St. Albans Raid, the Trent Crisis, and the Alabama Affair. The St. Albans raid involved a group of
confederate agents who robbed over two hundred thousand dollars (a significant amount of money in
the 1800 s) from three banks in St. Albans, Vermont. These raiders fled to Canada, and although they
were caught and the money was returned, they were not persecuted because they could not be trialed
in Canada when the crime had been committed in the United States. President Lincoln prevented the
northerners from pursuing the raiders into Canada to murder them, as this could have potentially
resulted in a war, which would in turn benefit the southern states. The Trent affair once again raised
tensions, when two Confederate diplomats were arrested in Boston while transferring a mail packet
Trent to England. This greatly angered London, as they sent many troops as reinforcements to protect
their colonies, eventually the diplomats were released and tensions eased once

Abstract My paper is written in purpose to cover the issue of the role of women in Islamic culture. My

Osman M.F. , a Ph.D. in Islamic law and institutional history from Princeton University, supports this
statement by stressing out that women are not seen as a mere shadow or an extension of a man, always
following him (1993, p.3). He believes that women are free as individuals and are responsible for their
faith and actions under the Islamic law. Hasan Abdul Ghaffar, a scholar of Hadith and a member of the
Islamic Ideological Council in Pakistan, takes the same stand and concludes: There can thus be no
doubt that in the Hereafter, men and women will both be judged, each individual bearing the burden of
its own acts, each soul will be punished for its transgressions and each will be rewarded for its
obedience to Allah (1996, p. 4). As Women s League points out basing on the Quran, both males and
females are supposed to play the role of vicegerents (1995, Role as Vigerents section), praying to God
and living up to his injunctions so that they can finally get to the paradise: Say: Behold, my prayer,
and all my acts of worship, and my living and my dying are for God alone (Quran, 6:163). Some
people may regard that the vicegerency of a woman should mainly be performed through childbearing.
Nevertheless, there is no division of the vicegerency between sexes in the Quran, moreover, women
should not be disregarded for being infertile or deciding not to have children. As evidence, the prophet
Muhammad had children only from two of his wives, Khadija and

Comparing Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet; a classic tragedy of two lovers who cannot be together due to circumstances beyond
their control. The story has been done by various movies, many of which change certain aspects in an
attempt to breathe new life into this age old tale. In 1996, Director Baz Luhrman took the story and
placed it in a modern setting where the two rival families are mafia families. This sounds like an
interesting take on the story and it certainly was, but the movie turned out as a complete mess. The
soundtrack is boring in every possible way. Almost every song is completely generic and forgettable
and the ones that do stick out by any measure still fail to attain my interest for very long. Although the
cinematography and editing was good for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For one, it remained mostly faithful the original work with some minor and somewhat humorous
changes to better fit the modern setting. The dialogue was even left almost exactly how it was written
by Shakespeare all those years ago, which was amusing at times, but it always sounded out of place.
The acting was by far the best part of the whole movie. Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire
Danes as Juliet played their parts to the best of their abilities and the best moments of the movie were
when they were the only two in the scene. The others also played their parts well and if not for the
outdated feel of the dialogue, it would almost seem as though all of it was something that had actually
happened. If you are considering showing this to anyone studying Romeo and Juliet, you would be
better off showing them any other movie. Students will not learn anything at all about the story by
watching this as opposed to any other film adaptation. Although the movie remains somewhat faithful
to the original Romeo and Juliet while adding an interesting twist to the story, there is almost no
educational value to the movie. It is very likely that students will not understand most of what is going
on here either because the story was not presented well, or because they are unable to take it

Dolgeville High School talking with his friends Holly, Brooke, Sarah, and Kevin. They Were talking
about what they heard on the news, there is an old house just outside of Dolgeville supposedly had a
ghost that had been trapped in the basement. They said that the ghost has been down in the basement
for over 150 years, and the ghost has been sending S.O.S. on a ham radio. They were planning to go to
the house and see if there really was a ghost.
After School all of them piled in Dave s Dodge Aspen RT station wagon, and headed to the house.

months later a married couple bought the house and fixed it up. They never said anything about a

keep the radio for himself and learn to use it. From that day on no one had ever heard the signal

Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing
Speaking with old English as his first language, Shakespeare portrayed a story. Tragedies, Much Ado
About Nothing is a comedy, which uplifts spirits as it circles the lives of Hero, Claudio, Beatrice, Don
John, and Benedick. Love, trickery, and deception are motifs used to develop a theme relatable to
years later. Using love as a basis tricks are placed everywhere in the Italian town of Messina to spark
the interest of two or to ruin the love. In Much ado About Nothing, William Shakespeare s explores
the motif of deception, and how nothing is as it seems, connected to the human nature for people of
love, deception is neither always good or always detrimental, it is how it is portrayed. Deception, at
first glance, appears as a word usually in a negative tone, but in times the act of deception is used to
benefit the characters lives. Nevertheless, Shakespeare allowed for deception to be played with when
the characters never expected it. In of Much Ado About Nothing, deception is used in the way to help
others. As an example, in Act 2 Scene 1 a ball took place where all the men and women were to dress
in guises. Don Pedro, the prince, agreed to help Claudio woo Hero over so Claudio could no longer
say he is a bachelor. This is an act of deception used in the positive effect. In Act 1 Sc. 1 Don Pedro
tells to Claudio, If thou dost love fair Hero, cherish it, And I will break with her and with her father,
and Thou shall have her. Don Pedro encouraged Claudio to cherish

The Importance of You-Are-Here Maps in Emergency Situations
Introduction
You Are Here maps are specific maps which have an indicator, You are here , to place the position of
the map reader on the map. You are here maps are aimed to guide newcomers in a modest size unit
such as shopping malls, parks, university campuses, airports. You are here maps allow people to orient
themselves in the environments (Levine, 1982). Visitors of these areas will have different purposes.
For example, a visitor may search for a particular shop in complex shopping mall or a newcomer in a
public or commercial building might look for the exit door. According to different purposes, a variety
of spatial task is needed. One of the most important purpose and spatial task is to guide people to the
nearest exits in the case of evacuation. In the case of emergency situation spatial awareness of all
involved people is really critical. Therefore, You Are Here maps could help people to locate
themselves in the place and finding the way to the nearest exit. This literatures review is conducted in
order to investigate cognitive challenges in interpretation of YAH maps in their environment, such as
parks, malls and any public building in Melbourne in the case of evacuations to the nearest exits.
Body
Maps are summarized real word for particular purposes and humans read maps to make a decision in

How Did Jean Jacques Rousseau Influence The British...
Philosopher and novelist Jean Jacques Rousseau has had a significant influence on his belief about
childhood and education from the later eighteenth century until the present. Jean Jacques Rousseau
also influenced the British revolution and during that time inspired William Woodsworth and William
Blake. He was known for going against the common belief of the innocence of children and their
nature and how they should not be subjected to the hardships brought on to them by events beyond
their control. William Woodsworth who was a English Romantic poet had a similar belief on the

Imagery of Snakes in Macbeth Essay
In the biblical book of Genesis, Eve is tempted by a serpent to commit an ungodly act of eating a
forbidden fruit. As a result of the snake s temptation, Eve eats the fruit, resulting in the presence of
worldwide sin and the downfall of perfection. From this story of Adam and Eve, the figure of the
snake has become generally associated with temptation, evil, and cynicism. William Shakespeare
employs this symbolic imagery of snakes in Macbeth, to enhance the story of the rise and fall of
Macbeth s power. For poetic and playwright purposes, Shakespeare uses serpentine imagery to reveal
the malevolence of characters, and portray the threatening position of the throne, all while provoking a
heightened emotion of fear and tragedy from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This struggle of loyalty vs. ambition correlates with Eve s biting of the fruit, which instantaneously
fills her with sin. Eve s ambition was to obtain knowledge of the world, yet in order to achieve it, she
was forced to go against her God. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth s incentive is power, which in this case
would be a seat on the throne. In both cases, evil is a required side effect to gain their desired qualities.
And this evil desire approaches both characters in the form of a serpent.
Following Lady Macbeth s unsexing , the most descriptive use of serpentine imagery is revealed. Lady
Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan. By doing so, she uses a metaphor of a snake to portray
the Macbeth s future evil actions.
To beguile the time,
Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye,
Your hand, your tongue: look like th innocent
flower,
But be the serpent under t. (1.5.64 67).
This simile is very similar to the cliché snake in the grass, which implies a stealthily treacherous and
surprise action. In this passage, Lady Macbeth explains that in order to succeed, they must act normal
around their guests, and conceal their evil desires. The snake thus represents Macbeth s hidden
ambition, and more literally, Lady Macbeth s plan of action.
However, the serpent, to which Lady Macbeth metaphorically speaks of in act one scene five, is not
only these evil desires of Macbeth. It also represents the threat that Macbeth possesses to Duncan.

The purpose of the fluid flow meters experiment was to determine the operating characteristics of the
Venturi and orifice meters. The purpose of the tray hydraulics experiment was to study the vapor and
liquid tray hydraulics parameters for sieve, or perforated, trays in a distillation column. By performing
experiments based on theory and comparing results to literature values, the objectives of this
experiment can be achieved. Both the orifice and the Venturi meters produce a restriction in the flow
and measure the pressure drop across the meter. The velocity of a fluid is expected to increase as the
fluid flows from an open area, to a more constricted area. Assuming incompressible flow, a negligible
height change, and steady state, Bernoulli s equation can be simplified to show the correlation
between the volumetric flow rate and the pressure drop. The equation for both meters is as follows:
w=Qρ=CYA22gc(p1 p2)ρ1 β4 (1) 1 where A2 is the cross sectional area of the throat, C is the
coefficient of discharge (dimensionless), gc is the dimensional constant, Q is the volumetric rate of

Character Analysis Of Lady Macbeth
In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the character Lady Macbeth and her various qualities
are used to reinforce the idea that being ambitious can be beneficial, however it can also have dire
consequences. This Shakespearean tragedy is set in Scotland during the Middle Ages, and follows the
tale of Macbeth, a Scottish Thane, who succumbs to temptation in an attempt to fulfil a set of
prophecies and become King. During the play he becomes consumed by his dark desires and
murderous ambitions, which ultimately lead both himself and his wife to their deaths. The author s
various messages surrounding being ambitious are shown through; the immense determination of
Lady Macbeth, her successful manipulation of her husband, and her callous nature. These qualities
and their implied messages to the audience are explored in the play through the use of; dialogue,
symbolism and other various language features.
One of Lady Macbeth s greatest strengths is her drive and determination to succeed in life. Moreover,
she was willing to do anything, even kill her own child and dash d the brains out of it to get what she
desired. Consequently this shows the immense lengths to which she is prepared to go to and it is also
highlights of the fact that sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order for your objectives to be
realised. The greatest sacrifice which Lady Macbeth makes is to that of her feminism, Make thick my
blood, stop up the access and passage to remorse. This imagery of blood is an extreme example which
shows that Lady Macbeth is willing to stop being a woman because of her great male ambitions.
However, as with all the recurring blood imagery throughout the play, it is also a show of that fact that
she will not feel any guilt for committing the atrocities she does nor will she regret the fact that she
abandoned her womanhood. Consequently, the reason Lady Macbeth has been developed in such a
way by the author is to show the cosmic power of females. Women have historically been oppressed
and so Lady Macbeth would have had to fight her entire life in order to achieve greatness, whilst men
like Macbeth get everything handed to them on a golden platter. Social constraints would have denied
Lady Macbeth the

Essay On Cancer Insurance
When a patient hears the word cancer, his or her mind often enters complete shock. Then, the
questions of, How serious? Is it treatable? What can I do? How long do I have? emerge. Patients
should not have to ask, How much will this cost? Instead, they should have peace of mind knowing
that some of their expenses will be covered by a very basic health insurance plan; however, this is
often not the case.
Unfortunately, Mary Casey, a 57 year old Missouri native, experienced the exact opposite of peace of
mind when she was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma. Even though Casey had a health care
policy with some basic cancer coverage, her insurance company, Coventry Health Care of Kansas,

Because many insurance companies are privately owned, each corporation is able to determine what
they choose to cover for each plan and often require an extra plan for cancer coverage. However, the

tobacco cessation interventions. Even though an individual has health insurance, meets all the co pays,
deductibles, completes preventative measures, and other requirements of the agency, there is no
guarantee that the provider with start paying for cancer treatment the day the individual is diagnosed.
This needs to change. The federal government needs to enact a new public policy that requires each
insurance company to cover certain cancer treatments, even in their most basic plans. The federal
government will decide which treatments are covered to ensure that cases, such as Mary Casey s and
Angie Schacher s do not occur. By implementing this new policy, every individual will have cancer

Artie s Relationship With His Parents Essay
The experience of holocaust survivors Anja and Vladek was harrowing but there was a bequeathed
suffering they passed on to their son Artie long after the end of the Holocaust. This inheritance was a
pain and displacement that tainted his very identity. Artie s relationship with his parents was a difficult
one, guilt and the omnipresence of their traumatic experiences was stifling. Entrapping Artie in a life
he did not even feel entitled to. A life that, based on his parent s unattainable experiences, Artie could
never truly understand. Artie is incapable of understanding his world based on the experiences his
parents had because those experiences were experienced by Jews suffering immeasurable pain during
the Holocaust. Normally adults struggle, to an extent, in understanding the world as their parents did.
Artie struggled so much more so because Anja and Vladek didn t just experience a different world,
they were forced by that world into new identities. Artie s parents were never really free of the

Being A Palliative Care Nurse
Palliative Care
Throughout this course, I have learned new information and refreshed myself on old information. I
was also able to connect old information with caring for individuals going through palliative or end of
life care. Being a palliative care nurse can be a busy and stressful job. The nurse needs to be fully
educated on many different areas to be able to provide the best possible care for the patients and their
families. A few of the topics that we discussed were the role of the palliative care nurse, cultural
competency, pain control of those in palliative care, communication strategies, and legal and ethical
issues that may occur during the end of one s life.
Role of Professional Nurse in Palliative Care
Nurses of all areas have many different roles and responsibilities. As a palliative care nurse, their roles
can include being a consultant, educator, role model, and mentor (Matzo Sherman, 2015, p. 13). In the
video Lessons On Living From The Dying An Interview With A Palliative Care Nurse On Kirsty TV
(2013), the nurse showed that it is important to educate the patient and their family, be available for
the patient in many forms such as an active listener, a shoulder to cry on, etc, involve the family in the
healthcare and the decisions that are being made, provide a calm environment and a positive
atmosphere (kick the negativity out the door immediately), and most importantly be there with the
patient during this time. Caring for these patients and

The Impact Of Black Friday On American Symbols, Values And...
INTRODUCTION
Background and Problem
September 11, 2001. I was busy finishing my Rapport de Stage in the Mackworth College Library,
Derby, England, when a lady came to spread the bad news. Four commercial jetliners were hijacked
and diverted from their paths to be used as guided missiles. Two of the jetliners ended up by crashing
into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, New York City, around 9:00 a.m. local time. Half an
hour later, the third jetliner crashed into the Pentagon, whereas the forth one, supposedly on its way to
Washington D.C., crashed somewhere in Pennsylvania. However, the implications of that Black
Tuesday were far more complicated than the mere reported facts.
To President George W. Bush, the operations that were carried out against his country did not merely
represent acts of terror on American symbols, values and interests, but they represented acts of war
against the United States and to a large extent, the attacks were acts of war, indeed. According to many
critics, these attacks were unprecedented in American history in that they presented a direct, potential
threat to the American territory. The gravity of the event was manifest not only in terms of the scale of
the attacks, but also in terms of the direction in which the guns were pointed. As Chomsky explains
[t]he last time the national territory of the United States was under attack, or for that matter even
threatened, was when the British burned

When I Love To Read Literature
Sometimes all it takes to turn the person who hates to read, into the person who loves to read. I know
that this has been the case for me at least. When I was a child I hated to read more than anything, but
over time I learned to appreciate it more and more. I believe that there are three authors, who were
able to influence a young child who hated to read, and created a young adult who doesn t mind
reading and on occasion does it for fun. Those three authors are Gary Paulsen, John Flanagan, and
Stephen Hunter. The first author to have an effect on my reading habits has to be Gary Paulsen. Gary
Paulsen was the other of many books, but the ones I remember the best are his Hatchet series, and his
book the rifle. The books main character Brian Robeson, who is flying in a small airplane to join his

muscle, valves, arteries, or the aorta and other large arteries connected to the heart. However, there is
also open heart surgery, which although sounds the same there are quite some differences, for when
doing open heart surgery, you re going to have to be connected to a bypass machine during surgery,
for your heart has been stopped because of it. Other than stopping your heart, the bypass machine is
able to give you the necessary oxygen that your blood needs, move that blood throughout your whole

Japan s World s Third Largest Economy
Japan is a vital economic power not only in Asia, but the world as well. It is currently the world s third
largest economy, previously in second place, behind America and China respectively (GlobalEdge).
Like many other countries within the Pacific, Japan is a part of APEC (Asian Pacific Economic
Cooperation). This is a forum that works towards a higher standard of living...through sustainable
economic growth. (APEC, GlobalEdge). Despite the fact of how comfortable/well off Japan seems,
they are currently facing multiple issues within their economy and societal factors.
One major issue Japan is facing today involves their declining population, and the quick growth of the
older generation. The current population growth rate is at 0.163%, and it is expected to continuously
drop over time. This factor negatively affects Japan s work force/labor pool, seeing as how there is a
larger amount of elderly people compared to younger ones that should be working. Japan s labor force
in total is estimated at 65 million people (GlobalEdge), which is a little over half of the population
(127 million). Their unemployment rate is at 3.4% (OECD), which is relatively good compared to
America s 5.5% (U.S. Bureau). This rate is also much lower than the rates in 2011 when
unemployment was at 4.50% (Japan Unemployment.).

The Negative Portrayal Of Teenagers In The Media

Throughout your teenage years, I m sure that you would have done some questionable things here and

The major difference that can be spotted in the standard FHA underwriting process compared to the

Learning And Its Implications For Education Essay
Learning is an important process in education and in life in general. One cannot simply grow, adapt,
and manage life without learning. However, everyone learns in various different ways. Shuell (2016)
states, When a particular word is used, people usually assume everyone has a common understanding
of what the word means. Unfortunately, such is not always the case. In trying to understand the
various theories of learning and their implications for education, it is helpful to realize that the term
learning means different things to different people and is used somewhat differently in different
theories. Shuell makes an excellent point, as even though one word can have a universal shared
meaning, not everyone may see it the way someone else sees it. According to Wikipedia, learning
theories, are conceptual frameworks describing how information is absorbed, processed, and retained
during learning. Cognitive, emotional, and environmental influences, as well as prior experience, all
play a part in how understanding, or a worldview, is acquired or changed and knowledge and skills
retained. There are many different versions and theories on learning. Some of the more common
learning theories include behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. The first theory is
behaviorism. Behaviorism is where individuals believe that learning is conducted by outward change
through behavior. According to Nemade (2007) he states, To the behaviorist, human behavior has

Active Hope, written by Joan Macy, is an interesting read that discusses many topics regarding social
and environmental change in the modern world. Joan Macy employs many ideas to engage the reader

books.
(Quote 1) To begin with Reflecting on Success on page 226; this part of the book inspired me. Her
quote If the change we want doesn t happen in our lifetime, does that mean we will never experience
success? For the encouraging boost we get when we know we re moving forward, we need to find
markers of progress we can spot more easily and often. Not only is this quote important but it can be
relevant to many things we live through and foresee daily. For example, if one is trying to achieve a
certain fitness goal, it is not the brightest outlook to just select a very far fetched goal and not track
small points of progress beforehand. In fact, if one was to do such a thing, it would be rather
challenging since frustration and injury would occur before one could even see any results since the

Socrates will Refuse the Jury s Decision
During Socrates defense against Meletus, Anytus, and Lycon in Plato s Apology, Socrates states that
he will refuse the jury s decision, regarded as the Law of Athens, if the court were to acquit him on the
basis that he stops practicing philosophy. However, later in Plato s Crito, Socrates explains he cannot
escape from prison due to the laws of Athens and thus adheres to the jury s decision of a death
sentence. Despite appearing to contradict himself, Socrates is actually not contradicting himself at all.
Socrates asserts that he did nothing wrong in regard to the laws of Athens and has never been a bad
example for the youth in comparison to everyone in the audience and jury. If Socrates were to lament
and agree to the acquittal in order to live, then he would be going against his philosophical mission
from god and would be agreeing that he did do something wrong; this is why Socrates testifies that he
would die rather than agree to stop practicing philosophy. Since escaping jail to avoid death would
contradict his ideals, Socrates refuses to disobey the laws of Athens, which he always adheres to, and
decides he will commit to his sentencing despite the fact he is unjustly convicted. In both cases,
Socrates is standing up for his ideals of philosophy and to his notion of goodness, which allows him to
sensibly and honestly state that he will adhere to the jury (and therefore the Laws of Athens) in one
case and is able to refuse to adhere to their judgments in another.

Clicking sound when opening your mouth.
Headache.
Earache.
Neck or shoulder pain.
DIAGNOSIS
Diagnosis can usually be made based on your symptoms, your medical history, and a physical exam.
Your health care provider may check the range of motion of your jaw. Imaging tests, such as X rays or
an MRI, are sometimes done. You may need to see your dentist to determine if your teeth and jaw are
lined up correctly.
TREATMENT
TMJ syndrome often goes away on its own. If treatment is needed, the options may include:
Eating soft foods and applying ice or heat.
Medicines to relieve pain or inflammation.
Medicines to relax the muscles.
A splint, bite plate, or mouthpiece to prevent teeth grinding or jaw clenching.
Relaxation techniques or counseling to help reduce stress.
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). This helps relieve pain by applying an electrical

Sakai Masato Research Paper
Sakai Masato was born in 14 October 1973 in Kobe, and he moved to Miyazaki with his family when
he was two. During his high school days, he aimed for becoming a civil servant and applied for public
universities, but failed. Then, he was being admitted into the Bachelor of Arts course of Waseda
University, majoring in Chinese Literature (which explains his ability of speaking Chinese, as
demonstrated in several occasions). He joined the Performing Arts Club of the University during his
college days, and withdrew from school in 1996 when he aimed to become an actor. But then, his
unsatisfied parents cut ties with him, and for around six years, he was working as an out of work actor,
living in an impoverished life. It was not until the year 2000,

Homeless Problem Essay
Homeless problem is easier to solve than to manage (Malcolm Gladwell). It is so difficult to find a
good answer for this issue, but the most moral solution for the homeless problem is to give them a free
apartment and take care of them, if they have injuries, like mental illness or addictions. This is a good
resolution because they need something to start with a new life, and this solution is a good way for a
new beginning, as they don t own a home and neither money to buy food. Even though giving a free
apartment to the homeless could seem unfair to those citizens who are working every day and don t
own so much money to live, these citizens have to think about the lack of possibilities the homeless
have living in the streets, a Care issue. So what it would be done is that they will share an apartment
with the essential needs to live and with a weekly review for their health. At the beginning care issue
is more important than fair because homeless people don t have anything to start with, so they can t
find work with their appearance, as the bosses look for people who appears good and have a stable
situation. But care issue is only temporally more important than ... Show more content on

As Gladwell explains in his book, there are three types of homeless. First, the majority of them, are
those who only are one or two days in the street, and they never come back. Then, there are the young
and drug users, the ones who come to the street for three weeks, and they return periodically in winter.
And the final ones, are the chronically homeless, who are living for a year or more, most of them old
and with a mental ill or a physically disabled. So the care issue will be done, because these people are
the ones who really need help and must have someone who takes care of them, as they have nowhere
to go and neither anything to eat, some of them with illness and

Three Reasons For The Overward Sloping Aggregate Demand Curve
1. There are a number of reasons for this relationship. Recall that a downward sloping aggregate
demand curve means that as the price level drops, the quantity of output demanded increases.
Similarly, as the price level drops, the national income increases. There are three basic reasons for the
downward sloping aggregate demand curve. These are Pigou s wealth effect, Keynes s interest rate
effect, and Mundell Fleming s exchange rate effect. These three reasons for the downward sloping
aggregate demand curve are distinct, yet they work together. The first reason for the downward slope
of the aggregate demand curve is Pigou s wealth effect. Recall that the nominal value of money is
fixed, but the real value is dependent upon the price level. This is because for a given amount of
money, a lower price level provides more purchasing power per unit of currency. When the price level
falls, consumers are wealthier, a condition which induces more consumer spending. Thus, a drop in
the price level induces consumers to spend more, thereby increasing the aggregate demand. The
second reason for the downward slope of the aggregate demand curve is Keynes s interest rate effect.
Recall that the quantity of money demanded is dependent upon the price level. That is, a high price
level means that it takes a relatively large amount of currency to make purchases. Thus, consumers
demand large quantities of currency when the price level is high. When the price level is low,
consumers demand a

  • 2. Essay about The Fight Against Child Pornography In recent years, pornography has established itself as perhaps the most controversial topic arising out of the use of the Internet. The easy availability of this type of sexually explicit material has caused a panic among government officials, family groups, religious groups and law enforcement bodies and this panic has been perpetuated in the media. One of the unique challenges to regulating or settling on the appropriate way to regulate is that there is no concrete definition of pornography. While law enforcement bodies such as the police, prosecutors and judges, are accustomed to dealing with issues that are exclusive to the United States, the Internet is a worldwide community with servers and members coming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second real issue is finding a way to regulate and enforce the removal of material that is agreed upon as being inappropriate for anyone to have on the Internet. I am specifically touching on the issue of child pornography. While it is illegal in the United States, as it is in many countries, government and law enforcement officials are having a difficult time catching offenders who post this type of material. So with this type of problem concerning pornography this issue is not deciding on appropriate means of regulation, but rather how to enforce the regulation already in place. It is obvious that for years, the government has been trying to regulate this type of content but has seen very limited success. Part of the reason for this is because certain regulatory actions intended to protect only a small group, such as children, should not require the prohibition of material that adults have access to in other arenas. It is for example, legal for people to rent pornographic movies or buy nude magazines, so distribution of this type of material on the Internet should not be completely limited. People shouting out for protection of their 1st Amendment rights have made a good point when arguing against complete censorship. What seems more feasible is a sort of multi layered approach to regulate illegal and harmful content on the Net. This would make it possible to form some sort of insulation for children ... Purpose Of The Study And Its Scientific Rigor Purpose of the Study and the its Scientific Rigor For the study s purpose, MDD is separated into two different categories based on the age of onset: EOD and LOD. Previous studies have indicated that EOD patients suffer more suicide attempts, irritability, sadness, childhood onset anxiety disorders, neuroticism, and other atypical symptoms than LOD patients. Additionally, it has been found that EOD patients have a high familial risk of MDD. Though psychological and genetic correlations have been studied, little attention has been dedicated to the psychobiological differences between EOD and LOD in MDD. Throughout a period of 6 years, 176 MRI scans were collected. However, after assessing the scans for wrap artifacts, gross anatomical abnormalities, or excess movement, 30 scans failed because of having these discrepancies. Of the remaining, five scans failed because of the lack of subject HAM D or BDI II scores and/or age of onset information. The 141 scans that passed these requirements were processed through the CIVET pipeline. 28 of the scans failed the CIVET pipeline, leaving a total sample size of 113 scans. The process of discarding unqualified scans suggests that the experiment design has taken standard measurements into consideration, improving the reliability of the results. It has helped shape Canada into one of the worlds most politically and economically powerful countries; a country that is strong, independent, and united. There was a series of events which led to the confederation of Canada, some which are more significant than others. However, I believe that despite the significance of events such as the British encouragement of uniting its North American colonies, the central and key reason for confederation was the fear of potential American (Yankee) inhabitance (whether by persuasion or invasion) of the divided and vast British North American colonies, and the way that the Fathers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John A. Macdonald, the prime minister of Canada at the time, had seen first hand the effect of divided colonies and the devastating impact that it could have on a nation. However, there was a serious and impending threat against the colonies of Canada from the northern United States, not only because of the British support of the southern states during the war, but also because of three specific events: The St. Albans Raid, the Trent Crisis, and the Alabama Affair. The St. Albans raid involved a group of confederate agents who robbed over two hundred thousand dollars (a significant amount of money in the 1800 s) from three banks in St. Albans, Vermont. These raiders fled to Canada, and although they were caught and the money was returned, they were not persecuted because they could not be trialed in Canada when the crime had been committed in the United States. President Lincoln prevented the northerners from pursuing the raiders into Canada to murder them, as this could have potentially resulted in a war, which would in turn benefit the southern states. The Trent affair once again raised tensions, when two Confederate diplomats were arrested in Boston while transferring a mail packet Trent to England. This greatly angered London, as they sent many troops as reinforcements to protect their colonies, eventually the diplomats were released and tensions eased once ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Osman M.F. , a Ph.D. in Islamic law and institutional history from Princeton University, supports this statement by stressing out that women are not seen as a mere shadow or an extension of a man, always following him (1993, p.3). He believes that women are free as individuals and are responsible for their faith and actions under the Islamic law. Hasan Abdul Ghaffar, a scholar of Hadith and a member of the Islamic Ideological Council in Pakistan, takes the same stand and concludes: There can thus be no doubt that in the Hereafter, men and women will both be judged, each individual bearing the burden of its own acts, each soul will be punished for its transgressions and each will be rewarded for its obedience to Allah (1996, p. 4). As Women s League points out basing on the Quran, both males and females are supposed to play the role of vicegerents (1995, Role as Vigerents section), praying to God and living up to his injunctions so that they can finally get to the paradise: Say: Behold, my prayer, and all my acts of worship, and my living and my dying are for God alone (Quran, 6:163). Some people may regard that the vicegerency of a woman should mainly be performed through childbearing. Nevertheless, there is no division of the vicegerency between sexes in the Quran, moreover, women should not be disregarded for being infertile or deciding not to have children. • 6. Comparing Romeo And Juliet Romeo and Juliet; a classic tragedy of two lovers who cannot be together due to circumstances beyond their control. The story has been done by various movies, many of which change certain aspects in an attempt to breathe new life into this age old tale. In 1996, Director Baz Luhrman took the story and placed it in a modern setting where the two rival families are mafia families. This sounds like an interesting take on the story and it certainly was, but the movie turned out as a complete mess. The soundtrack is boring in every possible way. For one, it remained mostly faithful the original work with some minor and somewhat humorous changes to better fit the modern setting. The dialogue was even left almost exactly how it was written by Shakespeare all those years ago, which was amusing at times, but it always sounded out of place. The acting was by far the best part of the whole movie. Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet played their parts to the best of their abilities and the best moments of the movie were when they were the only two in the scene. The others also played their parts well and if not for the outdated feel of the dialogue, it would almost seem as though all of it was something that had actually happened. If you are considering showing this to anyone studying Romeo and Juliet, you would be better off showing them any other movie. Students will not learn anything at all about the story by watching this as opposed to any other film adaptation. Although the movie remains somewhat faithful to the original Romeo and Juliet while adding an interesting twist to the story, there is almost no educational value to the movie. It is very likely that students will not understand most of what is going on here either because the story was not presented well, or because they are unable to take it ... Love, trickery, and deception are motifs used to develop a theme relatable to years later. Using love as a basis tricks are placed everywhere in the Italian town of Messina to spark the interest of two or to ruin the love. In Much ado About Nothing, William Shakespeare s explores the motif of deception, and how nothing is as it seems, connected to the human nature for people of love, deception is neither always good or always detrimental, it is how it is portrayed. Deception, at first glance, appears as a word usually in a negative tone, but in times the act of deception is used to benefit the characters lives. Nevertheless, Shakespeare allowed for deception to be played with when the characters never expected it. In of Much Ado About Nothing, deception is used in the way to help others. As an example, in Act 2 Scene 1 a ball took place where all the men and women were to dress in guises. Don Pedro, the prince, agreed to help Claudio woo Hero over so Claudio could no longer say he is a bachelor. This is an act of deception used in the positive effect. • 14. Imagery of Snakes in Macbeth Essay In the biblical book of Genesis, Eve is tempted by a serpent to commit an ungodly act of eating a forbidden fruit. As a result of the snake s temptation, Eve eats the fruit, resulting in the presence of worldwide sin and the downfall of perfection. From this story of Adam and Eve, the figure of the snake has become generally associated with temptation, evil, and cynicism. William Shakespeare employs this symbolic imagery of snakes in Macbeth, to enhance the story of the rise and fall of Macbeth s power. For poetic and playwright purposes, Shakespeare uses serpentine imagery to reveal the malevolence of characters, and portray the threatening position of the throne, all while provoking a heightened emotion of fear and tragedy from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This struggle of loyalty vs. ambition correlates with Eve s biting of the fruit, which instantaneously fills her with sin. Eve s ambition was to obtain knowledge of the world, yet in order to achieve it, she was forced to go against her God. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth s incentive is power, which in this case would be a seat on the throne. In both cases, evil is a required side effect to gain their desired qualities. And this evil desire approaches both characters in the form of a serpent. Following Lady Macbeth s unsexing , the most descriptive use of serpentine imagery is revealed. Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan. By doing so, she uses a metaphor of a snake to portray the Macbeth s future evil actions. To beguile the time, Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye, Your hand, your tongue: look like th innocent flower, But be the serpent under t. (1.5.64 67). This simile is very similar to the cliché snake in the grass, which implies a stealthily treacherous and surprise action. In this passage, Lady Macbeth explains that in order to succeed, they must act normal around their guests, and conceal their evil desires. The snake thus represents Macbeth s hidden ambition, and more literally, Lady Macbeth s plan of action. However, the serpent, to which Lady Macbeth metaphorically speaks of in act one scene five, is not only these evil desires of Macbeth. It also represents the threat that Macbeth possesses to Duncan. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By performing experiments based on theory and comparing results to literature values, the objectives of this experiment can be achieved. Both the orifice and the Venturi meters produce a restriction in the flow and measure the pressure drop across the meter. The velocity of a fluid is expected to increase as the fluid flows from an open area, to a more constricted area. Assuming incompressible flow, a negligible height change, and steady state, Bernoulli s equation can be simplified to show the correlation between the volumetric flow rate and the pressure drop. • 17. Character Analysis Of Lady Macbeth In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the character Lady Macbeth and her various qualities are used to reinforce the idea that being ambitious can be beneficial, however it can also have dire consequences. This Shakespearean tragedy is set in Scotland during the Middle Ages, and follows the tale of Macbeth, a Scottish Thane, who succumbs to temptation in an attempt to fulfil a set of prophecies and become King. During the play he becomes consumed by his dark desires and murderous ambitions, which ultimately lead both himself and his wife to their deaths. The author s various messages surrounding being ambitious are shown through; the immense determination of Lady Macbeth, her successful manipulation of her husband, and her callous nature. These qualities and their implied messages to the audience are explored in the play through the use of; dialogue, symbolism and other various language features. One of Lady Macbeth s greatest strengths is her drive and determination to succeed in life. Moreover, she was willing to do anything, even kill her own child and dash d the brains out of it to get what she desired. Consequently this shows the immense lengths to which she is prepared to go to and it is also highlights of the fact that sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order for your objectives to be realised. The greatest sacrifice which Lady Macbeth makes is to that of her feminism, Make thick my blood, stop up the access and passage to remorse. This imagery of blood is an extreme example which shows that Lady Macbeth is willing to stop being a woman because of her great male ambitions. However, as with all the recurring blood imagery throughout the play, it is also a show of that fact that she will not feel any guilt for committing the atrocities she does nor will she regret the fact that she abandoned her womanhood. Consequently, the reason Lady Macbeth has been developed in such a way by the author is to show the cosmic power of females. Women have historically been oppressed and so Lady Macbeth would have had to fight her entire life in order to achieve greatness, whilst men like Macbeth get everything handed to them on a golden platter. Social constraints would have denied Lady Macbeth the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was busy finishing my Rapport de Stage in the Mackworth College Library, Derby, England, when a lady came to spread the bad news. Four commercial jetliners were hijacked and diverted from their paths to be used as guided missiles. Two of the jetliners ended up by crashing into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, New York City, around 9:00 a.m. local time. Half an hour later, the third jetliner crashed into the Pentagon, whereas the forth one, supposedly on its way to Washington D.C., crashed somewhere in Pennsylvania. However, the implications of that Black Tuesday were far more complicated than the mere reported facts. To President George W. Bush, the operations that were carried out against his country did not merely represent acts of terror on American symbols, values and interests, but they represented acts of war against the United States and to a large extent, the attacks were acts of war, indeed. According to many critics, these attacks were unprecedented in American history in that they presented a direct, potential threat to the American territory. The gravity of the event was manifest not only in terms of the scale of the attacks, but also in terms of the direction in which the guns were pointed. But playing loud music in your car isn t something that the media should crucify kids for, teenagers by nature are explorative and love to try new things, can the media really shame them for just trying to discover who they are? The requirements are practically the same and all you need is to meet the standard FHA credit qualifications which include the down payment requirements and mortgage insurance payment upfront and annual, which depend on the value of the loan. Some of the standard FHA underwriting guidelines that apply include income, credit scores, employment verification and debt. The major difference that can be spotted in the standard FHA underwriting process compared to the FHA 203K underwriting process is that with the former, there is the usual inspection that checks livability and an appraisal to assess the market value of the property. With the FHA 203K underwriting process however, it does not make too much sense to find the fair market value of a property that needs repairs. With the 203k loan, there is an ... • 34. Learning And Its Implications For Education Essay Learning is an important process in education and in life in general. One cannot simply grow, adapt, and manage life without learning. However, everyone learns in various different ways. Shuell (2016) states, When a particular word is used, people usually assume everyone has a common understanding of what the word means. Unfortunately, such is not always the case. In trying to understand the various theories of learning and their implications for education, it is helpful to realize that the term learning means different things to different people and is used somewhat differently in different theories. Shuell makes an excellent point, as even though one word can have a universal shared meaning, not everyone may see it the way someone else sees it. According to Wikipedia, learning theories, are conceptual frameworks describing how information is absorbed, processed, and retained during learning. Cognitive, emotional, and environmental influences, as well as prior experience, all play a part in how understanding, or a worldview, is acquired or changed and knowledge and skills retained. There are many different versions and theories on learning. Some of the more common learning theories include behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. The first theory is behaviorism. Behaviorism is where individuals believe that learning is conducted by outward change through behavior. According to Nemade (2007) he states, To the behaviorist, human behavior has nothing to do with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Joan Macy employs many ideas to engage the reader into her point of view and outlines the book in a very different way that distinguishes it from other books. (Quote 1) To begin with Reflecting on Success on page 226; this part of the book inspired me. Her quote If the change we want doesn t happen in our lifetime, does that mean we will never experience success? For the encouraging boost we get when we know we re moving forward, we need to find markers of progress we can spot more easily and often. Not only is this quote important but it can be relevant to many things we live through and foresee daily. For example, if one is trying to achieve a certain fitness goal, it is not the brightest outlook to just select a very far fetched goal and not track small points of progress beforehand. In fact, if one was to do such a thing, it would be rather challenging since frustration and injury would occur before one could even see any results since the results are not being analyzed closely enough. ... Socrates will Refuse the Jury s Decision During Socrates defense against Meletus, Anytus, and Lycon in Plato s Apology, Socrates states that he will refuse the jury s decision, regarded as the Law of Athens, if the court were to acquit him on the basis that he stops practicing philosophy. However, later in Plato s Crito, Socrates explains he cannot escape from prison due to the laws of Athens and thus adheres to the jury s decision of a death sentence. Despite appearing to contradict himself, Socrates is actually not contradicting himself at all. Socrates asserts that he did nothing wrong in regard to the laws of Athens and has never been a bad example for the youth in comparison to everyone in the audience and jury. If Socrates were to lament and agree to the acquittal in order to live, then he would be going against his philosophical mission from god and would be agreeing that he did do something wrong; this is why Socrates testifies that he would die rather than agree to stop practicing philosophy. Since escaping jail to avoid death would contradict his ideals, Socrates refuses to disobey the laws of Athens, which he always adheres to, and decides he will commit to his sentencing despite the fact he is unjustly convicted. In both cases, Socrates is standing up for his ideals of philosophy and to his notion of goodness, which allows him to sensibly and honestly state that he will adhere to the jury (and therefore the Laws of Athens) in one case and is able to refuse to adhere to their judgments in another. ... It is so difficult to find a good answer for this issue, but the most moral solution for the homeless problem is to give them a free apartment and take care of them, if they have injuries, like mental illness or addictions. This is a good resolution because they need something to start with a new life, and this solution is a good way for a new beginning, as they don t own a home and neither money to buy food. Even though giving a free apartment to the homeless could seem unfair to those citizens who are working every day and don t own so much money to live, these citizens have to think about the lack of possibilities the homeless have living in the streets, a Care issue. • 45. Three Reasons For The Overward Sloping Aggregate Demand Curve 1. There are a number of reasons for this relationship. Recall that a downward sloping aggregate demand curve means that as the price level drops, the quantity of output demanded increases. Similarly, as the price level drops, the national income increases. There are three basic reasons for the downward sloping aggregate demand curve. These are Pigou s wealth effect, Keynes s interest rate effect, and Mundell Fleming s exchange rate effect. These three reasons for the downward sloping aggregate demand curve are distinct, yet they work together. The first reason for the downward slope of the aggregate demand curve is Pigou s wealth effect. Recall that the nominal value of money is fixed, but the real value is dependent upon the price level. This is because for a given amount of money, a lower price level provides more purchasing power per unit of currency. When the price level falls, consumers are wealthier, a condition which induces more consumer spending. Thus, a drop in the price level induces consumers to spend more, thereby increasing the aggregate demand. The second reason for the downward slope of the aggregate demand curve is Keynes s interest rate effect. Recall that the quantity of money demanded is dependent upon the price level. That is, a high price level means that it takes a relatively large amount of currency to make purchases. Thus, consumers demand large quantities of currency when the price level is high. When the price level is low, consumers demand a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
