What Are The Core Values In Beowulf
When first reading Beowulf, or even before that, many people often cringe at the idea of having to
analyze, process, and understand Old English stories from the Anglo Saxon period. Along with the
frustrations of comprehending just a sentence, sometimes the deeper meanings and overall image of
the story can get lost. In the case of Beowulf , this story is no exception. However, not only is this
Anglo Saxon story a heroic tale of a brave warrior who fights evil, but in reading the tales of Beowulf,
it gives us a way to compare our own lifestyle and core values, to those of the warriors and people of
that area.
In our modern world, we associate warriors to be a variety of people who face challenges that far
exceed those of the average human. Who have to face their fears and, to some extent, the possibility of
losing their lives. To us humans, not only are these the (courageous) criterias of being a warrior, but
we also expect them to be humble, selfless, and not to be arrogant or boastful about their
achievements. Yet unlike our society today, however, cultural traditions and expectations from society
back in the Anglo Saxon period were quite different, if not the opposite, in the ways warriors acted
and held themselves in society.
After first being introduced to Beowulf and his men, many readers would probably agree with the fact
of being surprised by their appearance and first impressions when they came to Denmark. For starters,
the idea of Beowulf and his fellow warriors

A Interview On Virtual Private Network

MIT 140626 Teacher name: Paul Carnie VPN, or virtual private network, is a network that is
constructed by using public wires usually the Internet to connect to a private network, such as a

the Internet as the medium for transporting data. These systems use encryption and other security
mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be

authenticating and encrypting every IP packet of one communication session. Beside from the changes
that we have done for the first task, we need to implement IPSec in the tunnel, so figure 1 would be
able to run GRE over IPSec. IPSec involves many component technologies and encryption methods,
also IPSEC uses to main protocols to create security frame work: Authentication header and
Encapsulating security payload. Authentication header does not provide encryption, that s mean only
authenticates the sender of the data. If we use authentication header alone, it can provide week
protection and also it can show some problems if the environment uses NAT. While encapsulating
security payload provides the same security services as authentication header, except the only
difference is ESP can encrypt the payload. IPSec technology is competently invisible in its operation
because it is based in network level. Another thing is the end users are not even directly interacting
and are not required to learn about IPSec encryption. [2] The advantage to monitor all traffic that
going through the network is because IPSec is based in network level. Also IPsec is not application
dependent, so we do not need to worry about application compatibility issues. Also there is some
disadvantages, the role to encrypt and

Should We Legalize Prostitution Essay
Should we legalize prostitution in the US?
The laws regarding prostitution, often called the oldest profession in the world , have been facing
changes for many years. They are multiple attitudes regarding prostitution and opinions on the
connotation this word should have but the idea people have of sex worker is usually negative. On a
legal matter sex work has been discussed many time and laws regarding this act varies around the
world. Some countries found this act immoral and think that it should not be accepted on some ethical
and legal concepts while other countries accepts it not only on a legal manner but also as a way of
making a living for those who decided for themselves that this is what they want to do. A lot of
questions regarding the decision we should make about the legal aspect of this work are in relation to
the impact it can have on the society and on the workers itself. Four different views approach this
subject; the criminalization of the act, the abolition of the act, the decriminalization of the act or the
legalization of it. (p.44 why is prostitution criminalized?) Criminalization is the one presently
established in the US. It means that all parties involved in the act are open to criminal punishment.
The abolitionist approach is not to punish the sex worker but punishing only third parties.
Decriminalization means that the act is not longer subject to legal consequences and their work is

Impact of Cost-Benefit Analysis on Industry Decision...
Impact of Cost benefit analysis on industry decision making: Transportation
Cost benefit analysis (CBA), in essence, is a tool for decision making. It can be applied to almost any
kind of decision in any kind of field. In its most pure form, a CBA will aggregate the pros and cons
(positive and negative effects) of a proposal, and, if the pros (benefits) outweigh the cons (costs), the
proposal is viable. Usually, the analyst will assign monetary values to each of the costs and benefits,
hence making the analysis easier to calculate, even if the cost and benefits per se are intangible, and
thus, not directly expressible in money values. Problems often arise in how to assess the monetary
values of both tangible and intangible effects, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any threat to the reliability of the transportation network constitutes a vulnerable spot, a weakness.
This is of particular concern when considering sparse, rural networks, because what by urban
standards is a minor degradation (i.e. car accident, resulting in queuing, delays and diversions) may
have severe consequences if occurring in a rural setting (i.e. blocking the only access road for hours).
In the most common manner of speaking, the reliability of a transportation network can be defined as
the probability that one or more of its links functions, or rather: does not fail to function, according to
a set standard of operating variables. A non functioning, or at best, badly functioning link will impose
costs on the user in terms of loss of time, additional operation costs or other costs as a result of delays
and diversions. Transporters of perishable goods will also experience a loss of value. Few will
question that the sender, the recipient, the freight hauler, or society at large, experience additional
costs when goods or people cannot reach their destinations in time or in space (Husdal, 2004).
The increase in just in time (JIT) manufacturing operations has made a reliable travel time an
important economic factor. JIT relies on the transportation system to take advantage of lowcost labor
and manufacturing plant development costs. Producing components in several manufacturing plants

Data Warehouse is a database which is designed to process for query and analysis rather than for
transaction processing, and it is usually contains historical data derived from transaction data, but can
include data from other sources while relational database optimized for online transaction which
includes insertions, updates and deletion.

So, these two data are very different form each other. Difference between these are as follows: *
Operational Database represent transaction while decision support data are snapshot of operational
data at a given point of time. * Both are different in transaction type and transaction volume. * The
degree of summarization in decision support data is very higher than operational data. * Decision
support data are characterized by very large amounts of data in comparison to operational data.
3. Three examples in which databases could be used to support decision making in a large
organizational environment
There are many example in which databases could be used to support decision making in a large
organizational environment. Some of these examples are as follows: * Support decision making must

Title: Volatile Organic Compound detection using Graphene: Determining the Fruit Ripeness
1 Introduction
Fruits are commercially vital and nutritionally crucial food constituent. Forming an element of a
balanced diet, fruits supply essential growth governing factors required for good health and play a
critical role in human nutrition. Distributed widely in nature, their economic values are influenced by
comparatively short ripening period and short post harvest life. The assessment and maintenance of
the quality of fruits and vegetables are very difficult task. The timely detection of fruit ripeness is very
important as it is related to the profitability and also competitiveness of the producers as well as
processors. During harvesting and handling it is common that fruits are subject to damage because it is

Public Key Infrastructures
Businesses are becoming ever more dependent on digital information and electronic transactions, and
as a result face stringent data privacy compliance challenges and data security regulations. With the
enterprise increasingly under threat of cyber attacks and malicious insiders, business applications and
networks are now dependent on the use of digital credentials to control how users and entities access
sensitive data and critical system resources. Public key infrastructures (PKIs) are necessary to help
ascertain the identity of different people, devices, and services. In a nutshell, PKIs go way beyond the
use of user IDs and passwords, employing cryptographic technologies such as digital signatures and
digital certificates to create unique credentials that can be validated beyond reasonable doubt and on a
mass scale ( What is pki? n.d., p. 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third parties normally trust digital certificates signed by public CAs like VeriSign, and SecureNet.
Additionally, the overhead of managing a public CA is significantly lower than that of in house
administration. Another advantage of using a public CA is convenience; it solves the problem of
distributing the key for certificates. Using Public CA can be cost effective particularly if company has
a large number of private users that need public certificates for client authentication. Like with in
house CA, there are several disadvantages to public CA. The integration between your organization
and the public CA is limited. While the overhead is lower than in house CA, there is still a cost
associated with using one and you will usually pay per certificate. There is also less flexibility in
managing those certificates as it is being handled by an outside entity. Which one is better suited for
the company could depend on the size of the company, it funding and staffing ( Comparisons, n.d., p.

Is there a marriage ritual, First Chosen.
There is the Binding. A ribbon or cord placed about the couples wrists binding them one to another for

Competitive Cheerleading Is A Sport
What is the formal definition of a sport? The dictionary considers it to be an activity involving
physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for
entertainment. There seems to be much dispute over whether competitive cheerleading fits the criteria
of a sport. Cheerleading has developed into something almost completely different than what it used
to be in the past. Competitive cheerleading consists of performing physically demanding routines and
competing against other squads. Competitive cheerleading should be labeled as a sport, thus
recognizing the competitive cheerleaders as athletes.
Cheerleading has all the elements to be considered a sport that any other sport has. There are some

cheering on the other teams at their school, they also compete themselves. Gutgold acknowledges,
High school cheerleading will always proudly carry the tradition of supporting other sports teams
throughout the year, but it s also time for everyone to know that the spirited students cheering on the
sidelines come fall are also hardworking athletes with their own sport and season. More often than not
it seems cheerleaders do not receive the respect they deserve for all that they do. This might be
because spectators do not realize the difficulty and exertion it takes to execute a routine. This is partly
caused by the regulations on what can and cannot be performed. Pete Warner, a member of the BDN
staff and Maine s Sportswriter of the Year, mentions this. Safety rules are in place, meaning that fans
can only see the basic stunts and less advanced tumbling (Warner). Oftentimes cheerleaders do not
feel people understand how much talent and passion they actually have for cheerleading (Warner).
However, the desire for their sport is there, and it is fueling them to prove the skeptics and

Earlobe Allele Frequency Lab Report
Earlobe Allele Frequency in General and Asian Populations
Laura Kathryn Browne
Georgia Perimeter College Introduction: The purpose of this experiment is to observe the frequency of
attached versus detached earlobes to better understand the presentation of traits in humans in general
and in certain populations to determine if individuals of particular ethnicity are more likely to present
with one phenotype of the other. It is understood that attached earlobes are the dominant phenotype
and detached earlobes are the recessive phenotype, however there is some controversy regarding this
distinction, as suggested by McDonald (2011), who points out that Carrière and Hilden were among
the first to study the genetics of earlobes, and they reached opposite conclusions . The purpose is this
experiment is to revisit this topic and determine whether there is a moderately clear dominant and
recessive genotype in human earlobes.
Hypothesis: The hypothesis of this experiment is that attached earlobes are more common in
individuals of Asian descent than in the general population.
Methods:
The demonstration was conducted at a busy 24 hour Starbucks in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan in
the evening from 7pm to 10pm. The number of individuals in each group, Detached vs. Attached, was

Many of the individuals in these random samples were young college students, but trials should be
repeated in locations with different demographics. There is some margin for error when determining if
an individual belongs to the Attached or Detached phenotype; sometimes, an individual seems to have
unclearly attached or detached earlobes. It should also be considered that elderly people are more
likely to appear to have detached earlobes, even if they do not have a dominant allele. There is a
potential for gravity to pull an attached earlobe down over time due to gravity, thus skewing

Causes of Inflation and Deflation
WITH THE AID OF DIAGRAMS, ILLUSTRATE THE CAUSES OF INFLATION AND
DEFLATION, AND BY COMPARING THEIR ECONOMIC EFFECTS CONSIDER HOW BOTH
CAN AFFECT THE CORPORATE SECTOR.
The essay will describe causes of inflation and deflation and explain how they can affect the corporate
sector.
1. INTRODUCTION DEFINITION OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION
Inflation is a process in which the price level is rising and money is losing value. (Parkin, Powell,
Matthews p654)
Inflation tends to rise when at the current price level, demand for goods and services in the economy
are greater than economy s ability to produce goods and services.
The graph below shows continuously growing inflation, occurred by a rising price level.
If the price level is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a respond to that workers demand pay increase and with higher cost business need to increase its
prices again –that is called cost push inflation spiral.
Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through
into business investment decisions.
An increase in output prices, such as rise in wage rates or the cost of raw materials, increases firm s
costs. With higher costs, firms are less able to make profit. Some firms exit the market and, as a result,
aggregate supply is less and shifts to the left. The macroeconomic equilibrium changes, with input
prices push up inflation across the economy.
Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through
into business investment decisions.
THE ECONOMICS EFFECTS OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION
Inflation is costly when it is unanticipated because it redistributes income and wealth and creates
inefficiency in the economy.
(Parkin,Powell,Matthews p676)
There is widespread agreement that high and volatile inflation can be damaging both to individual
businesses and consumers and also to the economy as a whole.
However, economists disagree about the relative seriousness of inflation. The revision notes below
cover some of the main economic and social costs associated with persistent inflation in goods and
services.

Pros And Cons Of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Hajdik 1
Concept, Controversy, and Commemoration:
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
No war in American history not fought on American soil can claim to have as big an impact on
America as a whole than the Vietnam War. The social and political divisions caused by the war
changed America as a nation and especially changed those who fought in it. Despite the sacrifices of
these veterans, both those who returned and those who did not, Americans on both sides forgot or even
vilified those who fought, either as losers or as tokens of an unjust war. To remedy this problem
through reconciliation and honor those who died in Vietnam, a group of veterans campaigned to build
a national memorial in Washington, D.C. From its original design to the present ... Show more content

A representative for the Pentagon, whom the veterans thought would offer strong support for the
memorial, essentially said, Why should we build a memorial to losers? (Scruggs 30). Some politicians
and others agreed, calling the veterans crybabies who should receive less from the government
(Scruggs 31). Many Americans, however, especially veterans and those who had lost loved ones in the
war, strongly supported the memorial. Tens of thousands of letters thanking the Fund and offering
support accompanied widely varying donations to the memorial, such as one that said, The whole
town turned out for the funeral for he was the only boy who died there from this small town but there
it ended. There is no recognition of his death anywhere so far as the town he grew up in is concerned.
(Scruggs 26). Some that supported the Memorial were even a part of those who had condemned the
war I opposed the war. I marched (and prayed) for peace. I counseled C.O.s. But I will never, never
forget what so many gave of what they had for what they believed. And many of these, tragically,
were the best we had. (Scruggs 27). To those at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund receiving the
letters, both supporting and condemning, they showed equal amounts of the pain that ran deeply
through America, and they began to work harder at their attempt to heal this

their meager meal Dirac came into the camp followed by a single horse.
The raiding party is about six hours ahead of us at your human walking speed. If you had more horses,
we could quickly overtake them, but your other horses who escaped the attack are gone. I followed
their trail for an hour back toward your farm and this is the only horse I found.

not dissuade the determined trio and Jerrit clearly needed help quickly. He worked with Sarah and
Philip to sort through the packs and they rapidly made up small bundles for Sarah and Phillip to carry.
While doing so, he gave them some advice. Jerrit mentioned that this was a Shadoch raiding party.
They are a brutal and very dangerous people. We rarely see them in Emradon and it is odd that the
path Dirac found leads to the southeast. The Shadoch do hire out as mercenaries, and they appear to
have been sent to attack us so it may have been a plot hatched by Stenland. We have not been on
friendly terms with them of late. It is all quite strange. But, you must be very careful if you get near
them.
Each of the children armed themselves with hunting daggers from the pile of supplies. Philip also
picked up a bow, similar to the one he had been using for practicing, and a quiver of arrows. When
they were ready, Sarah asked Clair to kneel and they were able to get Jerrit up on her and secure him
with a length of rope. Petrin then slowly led Clair with her inert load, up the hill. The last the children
saw of them, they were disappearing over the crest of the hill at the road.

An Emotional Connection Made with Audi Commercial Essay
Audi, the maker of elite model cars, designed an advertising campaign for the 2013 Super Bowl that
claimed driving an Audi would allow the owner to feel more daring. The advertisement opens up with
a high school senior boy wearing a tux, with his mother pinning his boutonniere to his jacket. The boy
clearly looks unenthused about going to prom because he does not have a date to the prom, which his
mother attempts to sooth him by saying that there are many people who go to the prom without dates.
His younger sister antagonizes her older brother about not having a date. As the boy is departing his
house, his father throws his son the keys to his Audi S6. The son s face brightens and he quickly

With this advertisement, the Audi S6 is that object that provides the young man the courage to kiss the
prom queen and park in the principal s parking spot. The car provided the young man the sense of
security to tackle his inner demons and carry out his desires with no regrets. The Audi instills this
sense of sophistication and authority within the young boy and that because he drove an Audi, the
opportunity to be brave clearly outweighed the consequences of his defiance, as demonstrated at the
end of the commercial as he was driving with a black eye after being beaten up for kissing the prom
queen. The Prom commercial has a logical appeal. By creating the relatable story of an awkward and
dateless young man on his prom night, Audi was able to make an emotional connection with its
audience. Their slogan, Bravery. It s what defines us. , permits a logical appeal that if an Audi can
allow that young boy to be brave, than an Audi can evoke that sense of bravery within them as well. If
bravery defines a person, and an Audi defines bravery, than the car a person drives defines who that
person is. Therefore, the logical claim that Audi is making is that the car a person drives defines them,
and by driving an Audi, a person can be seen as classy, brave and sophisticated. In conclusion, Audi is
trying to make the argument that owning an Audi is more than owning a car, owning an Audi is an
experience that will instill a sense of class, pride and bravery. This

Choosing The Brain
The world is filled with disease, impacting much of humanity. While there have been a lot of studies
centered upon physical health, within the last two decades much of the research has narrowed its focus
on how exercise impacts the body s overall health, especially the brain. This paper confirms that
exercise can have a transforming effect on the brain, which, in turn, can have a positive effect on
overall health, especially in the areas of stress and aging.
Choosing the Book

An actor in each setting will use communication to portray how they are feeling. For example, sports
fans will use communication in order to display their emotions toward the status of the game. During

to display your emotions in one setting it may not be acceptable in another.
It is often questioned what determines deviance, or what norms are people complying to that
determines what is deviant and what is not. I have noted that the norms that determine deviance
change depending on the particular setting, but which person determines these norms? Is the person
that is deemed the most powerful the one that establishes these norms? Such as the referee, or the
preacher, because these people are most often seen as the most influential, do they determine the
behavior that is acceptable in that specific setting? Human beings need norms to guide and direct their
behavior, to provide order and predictability in social relationships and to make sense of and
understanding of each other s actions (McLeod). Are the difference in norms due to the idea that they
must change in order to make sense of the change in behavior between two settings?

Batman Issues
The hype surrounding this movie in the three years before its release is something I personally have
never seen before. This movie is supposed to set the stage for the DC comics movie universe, by
expanding the characters and storylines to new heights. It falls completely flat trying to do so. This
movie is a cluttered mess that is being slammed by critics and many loyal fans that saw the same
issues that have plagued other comic book movies. The laundry list of problems with this movie start
at an editing level, the movie is cut wrong. There seem to be key parts of the movie missing, mostly
character development and motivations for the characters actions. The basic assumption the audience
can make in the film is Batman and Superman are good, because that is what they are in every other
form of media they are in, and that Lex Luthor is bad because of the same reasons. These editing
issues also never establish a good pace, every scene doesn t matter because in a matter of minutes it
will go to the next. Many scenes in this movie are not important twenty minutes down the line in the
movie. This movie does not suffer from a major plot hole, it suffers from a lack of understanding why
the plot of the movie is even happening. The main characters have really no reason for doing what
they do besides being Batman, Superman, and Lex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Superman with it. I thought that Batman was actually going to end the fight with a sink. Too bad the

Donald Super Concept
Introduction to Life Span, Life Space Career development involves the integration of psychological,
sociological, educational, physical, economic, and chance factors that provide the basis for a career
over an individual s life (Isaacson. 1986). Career development is, in fact, a lifelong process. (Isaacson,
1986, p. 17). Donald Super is primarily responsible for changing the definition of vocational guidance
from the process of assisting an individual to choose an occupation, prepare for it, enter upon it, and
progress in it to the process of helping a person to develop and accept an integrated and adequate
picture of himself (sic) and of his role in the world of work, to test this concept against reality, and to
convert it into reality, with satisfaction to himself and to society. (Niles, S.G. Harris Bowlsbey, J.

from economics and sociology while placing career behavior in the context of human development.

Title: Nationwide Preparation Level for Mass Casualty Incidents in Schools
Research question: Has the school system in the United States developed adequate preparedness plans
in the event of a mass casualty incident?
Problem statement: The intention of this paper is to analyze and evaluate the manner in which U.S.
school facilities deal with mass casualty incidents, with special focus on established guidelines from
the last decade and specific events.
Major Hypothesis: Efforts to prepare in the eventuality of mass casualty incidents in schools have
increased in the past decades.
Approximately 55 million children are enlisted in the U.S. educational system, split into 17,000 public
school attendants and 29,000 private school members (Council on School Health, 2008). The need for
school emergency planning has been recognized for a long time, but until the last few decades,
attention fell solely on preparing for natural disasters such as fires, tornadoes, and earthquakes.
However, due to a series of heavily mediated school shootings starting with the late 1990s, efforts
increased considerably to cover the need for school emergency planning and the importance of
coordinated disaster response to a school located mass casualty incident (Graham et al, 2006).

What Are The Similarities Between Terrestrial Planets
Based on chapter 6 readings there were similarities as well as differences for each terrestrial planet.
The terrestrial planets consist of Earth, Mars, Mercury, and Venus that tell us their unique differences
of each planet based on their position in the solar system. Mercury s surface can be very hot while the
other half of the planet is very cold due to the position facing the Sun. Venus has greenhouse gases
similar to that of Earth that scientist can use to help determine the global warming issue. As for Mars,
there has been studies showing that there is water or once had water on that planet.
Each planet has similarities to a very small degree. They all are made up of mixtures of rocks and
metallic material. The differences between each

How new members of the SLT are perceived by employees is vitally important in order to maintain
engagement of staff and commitment to organisational goals.
A further internal driver of change is a need to decrease costs and increase consistency and efficiency,
which is the aim of the centralisation of some support functions from E.ON UK to Berlin where E.ON
headquarters are based. This has resulted in a number of redundancies and the re education of hiring
managers across the UK business to understand the changes.
Approaches to change
A useful model when looking at different approaches to change is Tannenbaum and Schmidt s (1958,
cited in Leatherbarrow et al, 2010, p414) Continuum of Leadership. This model explains a scale of
various levels of delegated freedom and the subsequent effect on the employees. It details telling
where the manager decides and announces the decision, selling where the manager decides and then
sells the decision to the group, consulting where the manager presents the problem and asks for
suggestions before making a decision, and finally joining where staff are involved in all stages of the
decision making process. The model argues that joining is the key to implementing change
successfully as when employees are part of the change they are more likely to engage with it in a
positive way. At E.ON the change

Coastal Ecosystem Response Paper
Coastal marine ecosystems are a very important part of the coastal economy as well as the natural
ecology. Not only do coastal systems provide socioeconomic benefits such as tourism and aesthetics,
but also several ecosystem services. The ecosystem services provided by coast environments include
coastal erosion, storm protection, recreational or commercial fishing, carbon sequestration and
filtration (Wingard and Lorenz, 2014). Unfortunately, these services have been impacted by pressures
such as altered flow of freshwater runoff, sea level rise (which in turn also increases the frequency and
intensity of storms) and man made channels (Wingard and Lorenz, 2014). Another major factor that
has impacted and deteriorated many coastal areas is urbanization ... Show more content on

According to Cendrero and Fischer (1997), each indicator receives a value between 0 and 1 as well as
a weighing factor. The weight for each indicator is multiplied to the value of each indicator and then
these numbers are combine to get a total score. Cendrero and Fischer (1997) then developed a
conservation development diagram that would map the values from the total combination and could
determine areas in need of conservation as well as areas that could potentially developed. On the other
hand, Barbosa de Araujo and da Costa (2008) developed a system where sixty parameters are taken

The Iranian Language Essay
Today the Iranian languages are spoken from Central Turkey, Syria and Iraq in the west to Pakistan
and the western edge of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China in the east. In the North, its
outposts are Ossetic in the central Caucasus and Yaghnobi and Tajik Persian in Tajikistan in Central
Asia, while in the South they are bounded by the Persian Gulf, except for the Kumzari enclave on the
Masandam peninsula in Oman.
Historically, the New Iranian stage overlaps with the Islamization of Iranian speaking lands in the
seventh century CE. The Middle Iranian stage began in the third century BCE. The oldest stages go
back to the beginning of the second millennium BCE. The oldest physical document of Iranian is the

The later Iranians moved into and across the Iranian plateau, both carrying the new social structure
with their languages, with a lasting impact on the socio political structures of Iran and Afghanistan,
and the subcontinent.
The Iranians on their part can probably be correlated with the subsequent so called Yaz I culture in the
BMAC complex, which reflects major cultural changes towards a more rural society after 1 500 BCE.
They apparently remained in Central Asia, and only by the end of the second millennium BCE began
to spread over the Iranian plateau. By the second half of the eighth century BCE, Iranian Median and
Persian tribes (Mada and Parswa) had already been long established among the original non Iranian
speakers of the Zagros mountain ranges of Iranian Kurdestan, according to the records of the Assyrian
ruler Shalmaneser III (r. 858 824 BCE). Minorsky (1957: 78) recognized that the name of the tiny
village Qal a Paswe near Solduz in Kurdestan retains the memory of the Iranian settlements (cf. also
Zadok 200 1; 2002). The successors of the Parswa tribes who settled in the southwest of the Iranian
plateau created the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 558 330 BCE) which, beginning with the Sasanian period
(224 6 5 1 CE) and thereafter, ultimately resulted in the dominance of Persian over the Iranian
expanse.

other people and is a very interesting character, as depicted by Jerry Spinelli in his writing. He shows
that she can be mature, too. Amanda displays this trait due to her actions on page 23. On page 23,
Amanda cleans up some glass that her little siblings, Hester and Lester, broke. However, some readers
may argue that this is a simple action, not showing maturity, some may declare that this does. Most
children would not clean up glass. Many adults can agree that children cleaning up glass is rare, seeing

Satire and Tone in The Once and Future King Essay
There is a direct link in Book I and Book IV of the Once and Future King from the animation and
adventure that Wart experiences to the fall of King Arthur s reign. The shift is long and detailed but in
the end everything ties together. Although at points the plot is grim, White throws in a little bit of
satire throughout every book, for example in Book II when the Orkney environment is harsh but then
it is contradicted by the behavior of Sir Pellinore, Sir Grummore, and Sir Palomides. In Book III, it is
very descriptive and tedious with a darker tone, but then also is offset by Lancelot s adventures. It is
evident that the tone changes drastically from Book I to Book IV but what I noticed, is that the same
themes and ideas are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arthur is simple minded and optimistic and has hopes of things that are way out of his league to even
expect to happen. He takes on the same traits when he was a young boy in Forest Sauvage, naïve and
feeling strongly about justice. Although Arthur may have known about Jenny and Lancelot, he didn t
say anything because he didn t want them to suffer so he acted completely oblivious to the entire
situation. Because of Arthur s childlike attitude, it affected all three of them tremendously and also
Arthur s form of government. Another theme that is in effect in both books is the importance of
knighthood. The playfulness of this still appears in Book I and Book IV, for example, King Pellinore s
refusal to kill the Questing Beast is as pointless as the trials by combat that happen in the fourth book.
The Once and Future King not only revolved around knighthood and chivalry, but it implied what was
to happen in the future. It was easy to pick up on the foreshadowing in both of these books. In the first
book for example, Merlyn can see the future so therefore he prepares the Wart for what is ahead of
him. While Wart explores the animal kingdom he realizes that Might is Right is unjust from what he
saw from the ants, and Mr. P. While reading book one I knew that Arthur was going to be king because
there were insinuations leading up to the point of his rein. Toward the near end of the book Thomas is

New Life and Laws after the War of Northern Aggression
After the War of Northern Aggression, the South was cast into chaos, as many whites were forced to
confront their previous slaves as equals. The majority of white southerners were emotionally and
economically crushed by the defeat of the Confederacy in 1865. Many of the largest and most
successful Southern cities were destroyed during the Civil War. The South remained deeply rural for
many years to come after the Civil War, developing a strong sharecropping culture that served as a
widespread solution to the vast economic turmoil. Political factions, such as the Redeemers, were a
conservative, pro business extension to the Democratic Party that pursued the removal of
carpetbaggers and scalawags throughout Reconstruction. Many laws were passed in Southern states
that alienated African Americans during Reconstruction, such as state passed voting laws. After the
Civil War, the South was faced with a variety of social, economic, and political problems. Now that
former slaves held more powers and privileges, upset whites southerners could not stomach the idea.
White supremacist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, organized in an effort to suppress African
Americans and also in an effort to create a Solid South in order to avoid political controversy, in
regards to their antebellum views on slavery. New political parties were formed that supported and
condoned violent activist factions that terrorized both black and white Republican leaders during
elections. The

Labour laws on the treatment and participation of children in the workforce during the British
Industrial Revolution. Clark Nardinelli, Carolyn Tuttle, and Jane Humphries are the three central

This paper will begin with an overview of the incorporation of child labour in Britain, the conditions
in which the children worked, and a summary of the elements of the Acts of 1833 and 1844 the two
laws that are regarded as having made the greatest impact on participation and treatment of the
children. Next, the varying stances of the aforementioned central critics on the effects of the laws
within the textile industry will be reviewed, followed by a discussion of their effects on the education
system; and to conclude the evaluation of the textile industry, a cross evaluation of the various critical
opinions will then be presented. Finally, the paper changes focus from the textile industry to the
effects of the child labour laws on the non textile industries.
During the Industrial Revolution, Britain s working landscape made a dramatic shift from agricultural
to factory based mass production of forged resources such as textiles, iron, and glass. With this change
of focus came the necessity for a greater amount of labour. Employers soon discovered that they could
employ a child in the place of an adult since all workers lacked experience due to the newness of the
technology; the machines were powered by forces other than a man s strength, and they could pay

Action In Judaism
Many people inherit their religion from their parents and usually die in it; however, there are some
questions that need to be asked before choosing a religion. The most important choice should be
between believe or action. Action should have more emphasis than belief in a religion. Therefore,
Judaism is the perfect religion to accommodate right action due to its orthopraxy nature, due diligence
to society, not forcing others to convert, and knowing what each individual is destined to accomplish
while incorporating belief; in which it is hard to find the right combination of action and belief in
other religions.

Iliad Women
The women of the Iliad play significant roles in the Trojan war, regardless of whether or not their role
is active. Although they do not take up arms and fight, Chryseis, Briseis, Helen, and Andromache all
impact both the outcome of the war as well as the lives and reputations of those in it.
Chryseis, the first woman to be mentioned in the Iliad, is the one who inadvertently sets off a chain of
events that would ultimately determine the outcome of the war. Because Agamemnon refused to return
her to her father when asked, despite all of his men agreeing that he should, Apollo sent down a plague
to ravage the Greeks (1: 11 55). When Agamemnon finally agrees to give her back to her father, he
only does so on the condition that Briseis, Achilles woman, be given to him to make up for his loss (1:
178 185). Chryseis is part of the gera of Agamemnon, and because one s rewards should equal one s
excellence (deserved or not), Agamemnon is not willing to let her go without some sort of
compensation.
Briseis, the woman taken by Achilles as his prize after the sacking of Thebes, is the catalyst for
Achille s rage (1: 351 380). She represents his aristeia, his kleos, his tíme; she is his geras for their
victory over Thebes. Achilles refusal to give ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

his cowardice (3: 427 435). She also begins to see the error in what she has done/what has happened

Monologue For An Onion
Persistence is a central idea in the poems Monologue for an Onion by Suji Kwock Kim and Wait for

discover the deeper truth inside of something, which is represented by the peeling of an onion. An
onion has layers, just as the concept of truth does. But the irony of trying to gain something from
going deeper into an onion is that the onion has nothing to show or hide, as Kim writes, Beneath each
skin of mine lies another skin: I am pure onion, meaning that despite the peeler s persistence, there is
nothing to gain from a selfish and one sided goal. This idea of persistence is presented differently in
Simonov s poem. In this poem, a soldier

Easter Island History
Easter Island is one of the world s most famous archaeological sites. But it is least visited. It is also
very isolated. It is located south of the equator and around 2200 miles off the Chile coast. The island
has three extinct volcanoes. But the island itself is just a massive volcano rising from the Pacific
Ocean floor. The oldest known name for Easter Island is Te Pito o Te Henua, which means the center
of the world. Tahitian sailors gave the island the name Rapa Nui in the 1860 s due to the fact that it
looked like another island in Polynesia called Rapa Iti. Easter Island got its name Easter Island from
the Dutch sea captain, Jacob Roggeveen.
Easter Island is primarily known for its huge stone statues, or Moai statues. They were in use as early
as 500 AD, carved between 1000 AD and 1650, and were still standing when Captain Jacob
Roggeveen visited the island in 1722. A few of the moai once had crowns or hats made of red volcano
stone. The purpose of it is still unknown, but archaeologist believed that they were linked or sacred to
a particular clan. The moai statues itself symbolized authority and power, both religiously and
politically. But how they were moved is still a big mystery til this day.

studies concerning classroom management in the 1970 s. These readings emphasized how teachers
could manage students, lessons and classrooms to reduce the incidence of bad behaviour. This theorist

Kounin, the method used, not the teacher s personality, is the most crucial aspect in classroom
management of student behaviour. The title of his book is Discipline and Group Management in

behaviours that famed effective classroom managers from ineffective ones. These are; ripple effect,

of social work that interests me is working with people who have disabilities, mental and/or physical.

Component of Social Work A disability is usually defined as a decline in function that can either be
temporary or permanent. There are two main groupings of disabilities; categorial and functional.
Categorial disabilities include mental illnesses and sensory damage which often leads to
developmental delays. In comparison, functional disabilities cause limitations during physical activity.
Individuals can also suffer from more than one disability which is known as a co occurring disability
(Cox et al., 2016, pg. 159). Social workers often view disabilities in three types; developmental

  • 2. What Are The Core Values In Beowulf When first reading Beowulf, or even before that, many people often cringe at the idea of having to analyze, process, and understand Old English stories from the Anglo Saxon period. Along with the frustrations of comprehending just a sentence, sometimes the deeper meanings and overall image of the story can get lost. In the case of Beowulf , this story is no exception. However, not only is this Anglo Saxon story a heroic tale of a brave warrior who fights evil, but in reading the tales of Beowulf, it gives us a way to compare our own lifestyle and core values, to those of the warriors and people of that area. In our modern world, we associate warriors to be a variety of people who face challenges that far exceed those of the average human. Who have to face their fears and, to some extent, the possibility of losing their lives. To us humans, not only are these the (courageous) criterias of being a warrior, but we also expect them to be humble, selfless, and not to be arrogant or boastful about their achievements. Yet unlike our society today, however, cultural traditions and expectations from society back in the Anglo Saxon period were quite different, if not the opposite, in the ways warriors acted and held themselves in society. After first being introduced to Beowulf and his men, many readers would probably agree with the fact of being surprised by their appearance and first impressions when they came to Denmark. For starters, the idea of Beowulf and his fellow warriors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Interview On Virtual Private Network Assignment 1 Unit: BN305 Virtual Private Networks Student name: Gjorgji Babarovski Student ID: MIT 140626 Teacher name: Paul Carnie VPN, or virtual private network, is a network that is constructed by using public wires usually the Internet to connect to a private network, such as a company s internal network. There are a number of systems that enable you to create networks using the Internet as the medium for transporting data. These systems use encryption and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted. Vangie Beal, 2015 [8] Part I 1) On figure 1 obviously we can see Site to Site network diagram with 3 Ethernets and they are all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [1] 2) Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) is a protocol suite to make Internet protocol more secure by authenticating and encrypting every IP packet of one communication session. Beside from the changes that we have done for the first task, we need to implement IPSec in the tunnel, so figure 1 would be able to run GRE over IPSec. IPSec involves many component technologies and encryption methods, also IPSEC uses to main protocols to create security frame work: Authentication header and Encapsulating security payload. Authentication header does not provide encryption, that s mean only authenticates the sender of the data. If we use authentication header alone, it can provide week protection and also it can show some problems if the environment uses NAT. While encapsulating security payload provides the same security services as authentication header, except the only difference is ESP can encrypt the payload. IPSec technology is competently invisible in its operation because it is based in network level. Another thing is the end users are not even directly interacting and are not required to learn about IPSec encryption. [2] The advantage to monitor all traffic that going through the network is because IPSec is based in network level. Also IPsec is not application dependent, so we do not need to worry about application compatibility issues. Also there is some disadvantages, the role to encrypt and ... • 4. Should We Legalize Prostitution Essay Should we legalize prostitution in the US? The laws regarding prostitution, often called the oldest profession in the world , have been facing changes for many years. They are multiple attitudes regarding prostitution and opinions on the connotation this word should have but the idea people have of sex worker is usually negative. On a legal matter sex work has been discussed many time and laws regarding this act varies around the world. Some countries found this act immoral and think that it should not be accepted on some ethical and legal concepts while other countries accepts it not only on a legal manner but also as a way of making a living for those who decided for themselves that this is what they want to do. A lot of questions regarding the decision we should make about the legal aspect of this work are in relation to the impact it can have on the society and on the workers itself. Four different views approach this subject; the criminalization of the act, the abolition of the act, the decriminalization of the act or the legalization of it. • 5. Impact of Cost-Benefit Analysis on Industry Decision... Impact of Cost benefit analysis on industry decision making: Transportation Cost benefit analysis (CBA), in essence, is a tool for decision making. It can be applied to almost any kind of decision in any kind of field. In its most pure form, a CBA will aggregate the pros and cons (positive and negative effects) of a proposal, and, if the pros (benefits) outweigh the cons (costs), the proposal is viable. Usually, the analyst will assign monetary values to each of the costs and benefits, hence making the analysis easier to calculate, even if the cost and benefits per se are intangible, and thus, not directly expressible in money values. Problems often arise in how to assess the monetary values of both tangible and intangible effects, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any threat to the reliability of the transportation network constitutes a vulnerable spot, a weakness. This is of particular concern when considering sparse, rural networks, because what by urban standards is a minor degradation (i.e. car accident, resulting in queuing, delays and diversions) may have severe consequences if occurring in a rural setting (i.e. blocking the only access road for hours). In the most common manner of speaking, the reliability of a transportation network can be defined as the probability that one or more of its links functions, or rather: does not fail to function, according to a set standard of operating variables. A non functioning, or at best, badly functioning link will impose costs on the user in terms of loss of time, additional operation costs or other costs as a result of delays and diversions. Transporters of perishable goods will also experience a loss of value. Few will question that the sender, the recipient, the freight hauler, or society at large, experience additional costs when goods or people cannot reach their destinations in time or in space (Husdal, 2004). The increase in just in time (JIT) manufacturing operations has made a reliable travel time an important economic factor. JIT relies on the transportation system to take advantage of lowcost labor and manufacturing plant development costs. Producing components in several manufacturing plants and ... With the enterprise increasingly under threat of cyber attacks and malicious insiders, business applications and networks are now dependent on the use of digital credentials to control how users and entities access sensitive data and critical system resources. Public key infrastructures (PKIs) are necessary to help ascertain the identity of different people, devices, and services. Earlobe Allele Frequency Lab Report Earlobe Allele Frequency in General and Asian Populations Laura Kathryn Browne Georgia Perimeter College Introduction: The purpose of this experiment is to observe the frequency of attached versus detached earlobes to better understand the presentation of traits in humans in general and in certain populations to determine if individuals of particular ethnicity are more likely to present with one phenotype of the other. It is understood that attached earlobes are the dominant phenotype and detached earlobes are the recessive phenotype, however there is some controversy regarding this distinction, as suggested by McDonald (2011), who points out that Carrière and Hilden were among the first to study the genetics of earlobes, and they reached opposite conclusions . The purpose is this experiment is to revisit this topic and determine whether there is a moderately clear dominant and recessive genotype in human earlobes. Hypothesis: The hypothesis of this experiment is that attached earlobes are more common in individuals of Asian descent than in the general population. Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through into business investment decisions. An increase in output prices, such as rise in wage rates or the cost of raw materials, increases firm s costs. With higher costs, firms are less able to make profit. Some firms exit the market and, as a result, aggregate supply is less and shifts to the left. The macroeconomic equilibrium changes, with input prices push up inflation across the economy. Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through into business investment decisions. THE ECONOMICS EFFECTS OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION Inflation is costly when it is unanticipated because it redistributes income and wealth and creates inefficiency in the economy. With this advertisement, the Audi S6 is that object that provides the young man the courage to kiss the prom queen and park in the principal s parking spot. The car provided the young man the sense of security to tackle his inner demons and carry out his desires with no regrets. The Audi instills this sense of sophistication and authority within the young boy and that because he drove an Audi, the opportunity to be brave clearly outweighed the consequences of his defiance, as demonstrated at the end of the commercial as he was driving with a black eye after being beaten up for kissing the prom queen. The Prom commercial has a logical appeal. By creating the relatable story of an awkward and dateless young man on his prom night, Audi was able to make an emotional connection with its audience. Their slogan, Bravery. It s what defines us. , permits a logical appeal that if an Audi can allow that young boy to be brave, than an Audi can evoke that sense of bravery within them as well. If bravery defines a person, and an Audi defines bravery, than the car a person drives defines who that person is. Therefore, the logical claim that Audi is making is that the car a person drives defines them, and by driving an Audi, a person can be seen as classy, brave and sophisticated. In conclusion, Audi is trying to make the argument that owning an Audi is more than owning a car, owning an Audi is an experience that will instill a sense of class, pride and bravery. This ... The later Iranians moved into and across the Iranian plateau, both carrying the new social structure with their languages, with a lasting impact on the socio political structures of Iran and Afghanistan, and the subcontinent. The Iranians on their part can probably be correlated with the subsequent so called Yaz I culture in the BMAC complex, which reflects major cultural changes towards a more rural society after 1 500 BCE. They apparently remained in Central Asia, and only by the end of the second millennium BCE began to spread over the Iranian plateau. By the second half of the eighth century BCE, Iranian Median and Persian tribes (Mada and Parswa) had already been long established among the original non Iranian speakers of the Zagros mountain ranges of Iranian Kurdestan, according to the records of the Assyrian ruler Shalmaneser III (r. 858 824 BCE). Minorsky (1957: 78) recognized that the name of the tiny village Qal a Paswe near Solduz in Kurdestan retains the memory of the Iranian settlements (cf. also Zadok 200 1; 2002). The successors of the Parswa tribes who settled in the southwest of the Iranian plateau created the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 558 330 BCE) which, beginning with the Sasanian period (224 6 5 1 CE) and thereafter, ultimately resulted in the dominance of Persian over the Iranian expanse. • 28. Satire and Tone in The Once and Future King Essay There is a direct link in Book I and Book IV of the Once and Future King from the animation and adventure that Wart experiences to the fall of King Arthur s reign. The shift is long and detailed but in the end everything ties together. Although at points the plot is grim, White throws in a little bit of satire throughout every book, for example in Book II when the Orkney environment is harsh but then it is contradicted by the behavior of Sir Pellinore, Sir Grummore, and Sir Palomides. In Book III, it is very descriptive and tedious with a darker tone, but then also is offset by Lancelot s adventures. It is evident that the tone changes drastically from Book I to Book IV but what I noticed, is that the same themes and ideas are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Arthur is simple minded and optimistic and has hopes of things that are way out of his league to even expect to happen. He takes on the same traits when he was a young boy in Forest Sauvage, naïve and feeling strongly about justice. Although Arthur may have known about Jenny and Lancelot, he didn t say anything because he didn t want them to suffer so he acted completely oblivious to the entire situation. Because of Arthur s childlike attitude, it affected all three of them tremendously and also Arthur s form of government. Another theme that is in effect in both books is the importance of knighthood. The playfulness of this still appears in Book I and Book IV, for example, King Pellinore s refusal to kill the Questing Beast is as pointless as the trials by combat that happen in the fourth book. The Once and Future King not only revolved around knighthood and chivalry, but it implied what was to happen in the future. It was easy to pick up on the foreshadowing in both of these books. In the first book for example, Merlyn can see the future so therefore he prepares the Wart for what is ahead of him. While Wart explores the animal kingdom he realizes that Might is Right is unjust from what he saw from the ants, and Mr. P. While reading book one I knew that Arthur was going to be king because there were insinuations leading up to the point of his rein. Toward the near end of the book Thomas is presented and ... New Life and Laws after the War of Northern Aggression After the War of Northern Aggression, the South was cast into chaos, as many whites were forced to confront their previous slaves as equals. The majority of white southerners were emotionally and economically crushed by the defeat of the Confederacy in 1865. Many of the largest and most successful Southern cities were destroyed during the Civil War. The South remained deeply rural for many years to come after the Civil War, developing a strong sharecropping culture that served as a widespread solution to the vast economic turmoil. Political factions, such as the Redeemers, were a conservative, pro business extension to the Democratic Party that pursued the removal of carpetbaggers and scalawags throughout Reconstruction. Many laws were passed in Southern states that alienated African Americans during Reconstruction, such as state passed voting laws. After the Civil War, the South was faced with a variety of social, economic, and political problems. Now that former slaves held more powers and privileges, upset whites southerners could not stomach the idea. White supremacist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, organized in an effort to suppress African Americans and also in an effort to create a Solid South in order to avoid political controversy, in regards to their antebellum views on slavery. Next, the varying stances of the aforementioned central critics on the effects of the laws within the textile industry will be reviewed, followed by a discussion of their effects on the education system; and to conclude the evaluation of the textile industry, a cross evaluation of the various critical opinions will then be presented. Finally, the paper changes focus from the textile industry to the effects of the child labour laws on the non textile industries. With this change of focus came the necessity for a greater amount of labour. Although they do not take up arms and fight, Chryseis, Briseis, Helen, and Andromache all impact both the outcome of the war as well as the lives and reputations of those in it. Chryseis, the first woman to be mentioned in the Iliad, is the one who inadvertently sets off a chain of events that would ultimately determine the outcome of the war. Because Agamemnon refused to return her to her father when asked, despite all of his men agreeing that he should, Apollo sent down a plague to ravage the Greeks (1: 11 55). When Agamemnon finally agrees to give her back to her father, he only does so on the condition that Briseis, Achilles woman, be given to him to make up for his loss (1: 178 185). An onion has layers, just as the concept of truth does. But the irony of trying to gain something from going deeper into an onion is that the onion has nothing to show or hide, as Kim writes, Beneath each skin of mine lies another skin: I am pure onion, meaning that despite the peeler s persistence, there is nothing to gain from a selfish and one sided goal.
