Straight Outta Scenarios
Straight Outta Compton
Straight Outta Compton opens with the sound of a police helicopter. We are in Compton, a city in Los
Angeles, with large amounts of poverty and violence, and a distinct absence of white people. It s the
mid 1980s, gang and police violence are every day. Out of all this comes N.W.A: a rap group that
decided to take a showdown with the community and writes songs about how life really was for five
black, young boys from Compton. Straight Outta Compton is based on the rise and fall of the rap
group N.W.A.
The acting in this film is memorable. There are especially two actors who deserve recognition. The
first one is the O Shea Jackson Jr, which plays the role of the Ice Cube in the film. Jackson Jr is the
son of the Ice Cube ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The grade with the most depth and the most emotional story in the film is Eazy E. Mitchell is doing an
excellent job in the role of the rapper who both founded and crashed N.W.A.
Straight Outta Compton is about the legendary rap group N.W.A, and their journey from being young,
ambitious boys in the streets of Compton to become world renowned artists.
The film naturally has a lot of good music, and Joseph Trapanese has done a good job of mixing
N.W.A music and other songs, both contemporary and newer, into the film. The music is best when we
get to enter the studio and watch the artist s record songs.
Fuck Tha Police became one of N.W.A s most famous songs, and the film tells the story of how this
song originated. We get a historical insight into the Los Angeles Police s view of blacks in the 80 s
and 90 s. Straight Outta Compton is as much a socially critical movie as a biographical film, and this
is one of the film s biggest strengths.
Songs like Express Yourself, Fuck Tha Police and Straight Outta Compton provoked many, but they
also created attention around a new music genre, and the group was a tremendous success. In addition,
they became a great inspiration for several great

The Effects Of Climate Change On Canada s Agriculture
Climate Change will positively impact Canada s Agriculture Thesis: Climate change will negatively
impact Canada s Agriculture due to heavy rainfall, droughts, irrigation problems, pesticide issues and
not enough nutrients available? Intro
Agriculture is highly dependent upon weather and climate in order to produce the food necessary to
sustain human life. North America is the world s largest and most productive supplier of food and
fiber (3). Canada is the second largest country in the world however it only contains five percent of
land that is suitable for farming (7). This small farming area is divided in two different zones. The first
zone is the great Prairies located in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the mixed Wood Plains
of the St. Lawrence River and the second zone is the Great Lakes regions (7). Approximately 80% of
Canada s major farming is done the Prairies (7). There have been several recent studies that indicate
most regions of Canada to warm up during the next 60 years (3). The Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change (IPCC) in 2007 projected that global average temperature to increase by 1.5 to 4.5
degrees Celsius (3). Ironically, this would be the largest increase in global mean temperature in the last
10, 000 years (3). According to the comprehensive Canada Country Study (CCS) all the Global
Climate Model (GCM) indicates Canada will be impacted with the most warming (7). The impacts of
this climate change will be greatly reflected on the

Vital Performance Measurement System Analysis
Brief audit of applicable writing
Vital Performance Measurement System (SPMS) can be both practical and broken for associations.
SPMS can help associations characterize and accomplish their key targets, adjust practices and
mentalities and, at last, positively affect hierarchical execution. Notwithstanding, SPMS has likewise
been scrutinized for a few reasons, for example, empowering unreasonable practices, smothering
development and learning, and having little impact on basic leadership forms. On the off chance that
both points of view are legitimate, by what method can associations make SPM a greater amount of an
advantage and to a lesser degree an obligation?
In this article, we contend that the outline of a SPM framework (SPMS) and ... Show more content on

execution, additionally to actualize key goals. This majority of parts is not as a matter of course
positive or negative, but instead stresses how diverse SPMSs satisfy distinctive requirements and how
there is no one size fits all estimation framework. As a result, the drivers and motivations behind each
execution marker and of the entire SPMS ought to be expressly characterized during the time spent

Research – Methodology and Ethics
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY AND ETHICS
This essay attempts to identify and sum up two research methods (Qualitative and Quantitative
Research Methods), assess their relative strengths and weaknesses and explain how two ethical issues
arise from research. Qualitative and Quantitative research approaches are two of the various methods
used in sociological research. The use of these methods can be very important and can normally
produce efficient, realistic and logical results.
So what is qualitative research and what is quantitative research? To begin with, we look at the
distinctions between the forms of research. Thus, on first consideration, the use of questionnaires as a
research technique might be seen as a quantitative strategy, whereas ... Show more content on

Qualitative descriptions can play the important role of suggesting possible relationships, causes,
effects and dynamic processes.
Because statistics are not used, but rather qualitative research uses a more descriptive, narrative style,
this research might be of particular benefit to the practitioner as she, or he could turn to qualitative
reports in order to examine forms of knowledge that might otherwise be unavailable, thereby gaining
new insight.
Qualitative research adds flesh and blood to social analysis.
Both qualitative and quantitative research methods have some similarities, for instance, whilst
quantitative research may be mostly used for testing theory, it can also be used for exploring area and
generating hypotheses and theory. Similarly qualitative research can be used for testing hypotheses
and theories even though it is mostly used for theory generation.
Qualitative data often includes quantification, e.g. statements such as more than, less than, most as
well as specific numbers, quantitative, i.e. questionnaire approaches can collect qualitative data
through open ended questions.
ETHICAL ISSUES IN QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
During the designing of questionnaires and the training of interviewers a number of ethical issues need
to be taken into consideration. Respondents have a right to be informed about the nature and purposes
of the study and how the information will be used prior to data collection. The issue of anonymity,

Human Needs In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
Its said that we always want what we don t have. That as human beings we always have the need for
something. We call these necessities our human needs. In the novel Of Mice and Men which is written
by John Steinbeck we saw an abundance of characters who have human needs. The novel showed how
characters would act when they were missing these needs and to what extent they acted to relieve
themselves. The four main human needs that the novel reflected were the need for security, realism,
idealism, and connection. The novel clearly expresses these human needs.
In the novel, the prime example for a character with the need for security is Crooks. Crooks suffers
from racism because of being black and was alienated from the rest of the farmhands. Due to this
segregation, he would spend his time in the barn rubbing his back with a bottle of liniment (Steinbeck
67). The liniment is like an invisible coat of protection for Crooks, protecting him from forces outside
of him. Crooks needs this form of security because it keeps him being a realist, rather than an idealist.
The rubbing of the ointment is also what he goes back to whenever he feels false hope. An example
would be when Crooks spoke up to Curley s wife and she said well you keep your place then, nigger
(Steinbeck 81). After being told that Crooks sat down, waited awhile then he reached for the liniment
bottle (Steinbeck 83). That is why security is a human need reflected in the story.
Realism is another human need

The Light Of Burning Wood And Sulfur And The Smoke
The air smells of burning wood and sulfur and the smoke around me is making it difficult to figure out
the particulars of my surroundings. I m in the foyer of my home, but there is no one else around. The
smoke is getting thicker now, causing my eyes to water. Breathing in, I begin to choke uncontrollably.
Covering my mouth while still coughing, fear takes over my body. I scramble to my feet in a panic as
I find a wall and begin to follow it, hoping it will lead me to an opening. Moving along the wall, I
bump into a table and fall to the ground, choking even more. Struggling to sit up, I see the silhouette
of someone coming towards me. Black spots fill my vision as I sink lower and lower to the ground.

I found sites that recommended everything from dream catchers to professional help, so I finally got
up the courage to talk to my birth parents about it. When I was eleven, they took me to a doctor who
prescribed medicine that would supposedly help me relax and sleep better. It didn t work. Within the
span of two years I had visited four doctors, including psychiatrists, that each gave me a new type of
medicine to help. None of their methods worked so one day I straightened my shoulders, put a skip in
my step and a smile on my face and told my parents that the nightmares had stopped and that I was
better. We celebrated with homemade chocolate sundaes and Finding Nemo. That night, the
nightmares persisted. The laptop that usually presided on the desk under her lofted bed was gone,

Labour and Industrial Relations
LABOUR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS MISCONDUCT INTRODUCTION Misconduct could
be a serious offence titled to be an unacceptable behavior by an employee or professional person.
Misconduct can lead either to be a major or minor offence depending on the offence made by the
person. In a misconduct case, the basic ruling is that the employer must prove beyond any doubt that
the employee is guilty of the offence. Taking this into view it must be understood that the employee
does not need to prove his innocence but the employer need to prove his guilt. Decision making is the
back bone behind any business activity. Without decisions, nothing moves and business leaders tasked
with making them need the right information to ensure they are taking the right type of action.
SULNAYAH MOHD ISA V. SEKOLAH KANAK KANAK PEKAK SELANGOR ANOR [1999]
Case laws have defined the meaning of misconduct to be any conduct on the part of employee which
is inconsistent with the faithful discharge of his duties, or any breach of the express or implied duties
of an employee towards his employer. It is also known as a form of improper behaviour or an
intentional wrongdoing or a deliberate violation of a rule or standard of behaviour. In the case of

Effects of Strip Mining on the Appalachian Environment Essay
Coal mining, in particular, strip mining has become the latest casualty of the growing green movement
in the United States. What is strip mining? Encyclopædia Britannica Online defines strip mining as the
removal of vegetation, soil, and rock above a layer of coal, followed by the removal of the coal itself (
strip ). Most Americans don t realize the impact this material of biological origin that can be used as a
source of energy ( fossil ), or fossil fuel, has on their everyday lives or the nation s economy.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the mining industry directly employs some
fifty thousand Americans with nearly half that number working in the more specific field of strip
mining, or mountain top removal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Deforestation s accompaniment is erosion. Since much of strip mined land lacks proper restoration,
weather causes further loss of soil and vital nutrients needed for native vegetation to grow. Mountain
Top Mining and Valley Fills Report published by the EPA cites KA Harper and others educated and
conducting studies in the fields of biology, environmental studies, and renewable sources. According
to Harper, the change in mineral content of land affected by surface mining prohibits growth of
indigenous plant life and allows foreign plant life to invade, changing the areas ecosystem (Harper).
Water contamination is the next major concern of environmental groups. The Environmental
Protection Agency, the governmental regulatory agency created in 1970 to manage the enforcement of
environmental policy, states its concerns in a letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2009
(United). Specifically addressing mines in West Virginia and Kentucky, the EPA expressed serious
concerns over water pollution from strip mining ( EPA ). The rupture of an ash dike at the Tennessee
Valley Authority s Kingston Fossil Plant in Roane County, TN on December 22, 2008 granted
credibility to the EPA s concerns. In an article published by in Environmental Health Perspectives,
Rhitu Chatterjee comments on the poisonous substances contained in ash produced from processing

The Reason That Chip Wilson Plunged Lululemon Into Crisis
Analysis The reason that Chip Wilson plunged Lululemon into crisis again is because of three major
issues: lack of media training as a spokesperson, lack of comprehensive crisis management plan in the
company, and failure of internal communication. First of all, spokesperson media training is part of
crisis preparation. In this case, lacking media training includes training for a TV interview and training
for filming a video apology. Prior to Chip Wilson s interview with Bloomberg TV, managers from the
PR department should have conducted a comprehensive media training to Wilson. Topics cover from
diagnosing company s vulnerabilities, to preparing for difficult questions, to how to utilize chances to
re enhance the company s image, and how to risk averse after a major crisis. As Wilson s answer
caused another crisis, I assume that he was not ready to answer the questions of sheer pants recall, nor
he was ever participated in any media training at all. Erik Bernstein who runs a crisis management
blog noted that some people should never act as spokesperson. In fact, what surprised me was that as a
company s founder and chairman of board, it was Chip Wilson s responsibility to have a general
knowledge about the crisis and what caused the crisis and what procedures they have taken to solve
the crisis. Even though he was never prepared for those questions beforehand, answers such as women
s bodies don t fit its pants should have never came up. This crisis could have been

Ernest Hemingway s A Special Code, Grace Under Pressure
Ernest Hemingway was a man who was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Growing up, he
was always encouraged to pursue the arts in any way he could. Being so close to nature and
experiencing World War I, World War II, and the Spanish Civil war, Hemingway s style showed times
of post war and poverty for the common man. Some of his best works are because of the times he has
spent in war. Stories such as the Old Man and the Sea, The Killers , The Undefeated , and The Big
Two Hearted River were all influenced by war and the times Hemingway spent fighting for the cause.
All of Hemingway s most famous works follow a special code, grace under pressure. These codes tell
how one must accept life for how it is. That we are not always able to change it so the best we can do
is take it as life hands it to us. In addition, that one should stick to their own path in life and not make
trouble for others. Hemingway s code show how one should live their life in a way that is solely their
life, which one should never try to inflict their ways or values onto others. Hemingway uses grace
under pressure to relate to real life events and how one should handle it. In The Old Man and the Sea,
before the boy and the old man made their way to get ready for the old man s trip out to sea the next
day, the boy sees how the old man is aging. They were strange shoulders, still powerful although very
old, and the neck was still strong too and the creases did not show so much when the old man

Estrogen And Progesterone Research Paper
Introduction
Estrogen and progesterone (progestin) are hormones used in many forms of birth control
(contraception). These two hormones make up most hormonal contraceptives. Hormonal
contraceptives use either:
A combination of estrogen hormone and progesterone hormone in one of these forms:
Pill. Pills come in various combinations of active hormone pills and nonhormonal pills. Different
combinations of pills may give you a period once a month, once every 3 months, or no period at all. It
is important to take the pills the same time each day.
Patch. The patch is placed on the lower abdomen every week for 3 weeks. On the fourth week, the
patch is not placed.

Plastic rods are placed under the skin of the upper arm. They are removed or replaced every 3 years or
sooner.
Injection. The injection is given once every 90 days.
Pregnancy can still occur with any of these hormonal contraceptive methods. If you have any
suspicion that you might be pregnant, take a pregnancy test and talk to your health care provider.
Estrogen and progesterone contraceptives
Estrogen and progesterone contraceptives can prevent pregnancy by:
Stopping the release of an egg (ovulation).
Thickening the mucus of the cervix, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus.
Changing the lining of the uterus. This change makes it more difficult for an egg to implant.
Progesterone contraceptives
Progesterone only contraceptives can prevent pregnancy by:
Blocking ovulation. This occurs in many women, but some women will continue to ovulate.
Preventing the entry of sperm into the uterus by keeping the cervical mucus thick and sticky.
Changing the lining of the uterus. This change makes it more difficult for an egg to implant.
Side effects
Talk to your health care provider about what side effects may affect you. If you develop persistent side

A Comparison Of To Kill A Mockingbird And Lost In The Barren
Changing perspective is the act of altering the way someone interprets an action, object, or person.
Adjusting perception can allow one to overcome hardships and understand the community around
them. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, characters discover the true background behind those
who are outcasts in society. Likewise, in Lost in the Barrens by Farley Mowat, characters ascertain
that their long term enemies were truly innocent. In The Cold Equations by Tom Godwin, the pilot of
the Emergency Dispatch Ship, Barton, unearths the horror of the stowaway as he discovers her
motives. In Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy? by Tim O Brien, Paul Berlin changes his
viewpoint of another character to remain sane in the battlefield of Vietnam. Seeing things from
another angle allows characters to grow socially and act responsibly against challenges.
After realizing that Boo Radley just wants to stay inside, it gives Scout the courage to hold his hand.
Earlier, Scout had realized that he was only hiding because he wanted to stay inside. Soon after the
assault of Bob Ewell, Jem is receiving medical care, as he is unconscious on his bed. Scout starts to
understand Boo, and his place in society. No longer afraid of him, Scout, while filled with
determination, leads him to Jem s bed. Lee states, I took him by the hand, a hand surprisingly warm

The Most Iconic Civil Rights Movement Influencers Of All...
To begin my essay, I would like to start off with arguably the most iconic civil rights movement
influencers of all time, Billie Holiday. Eleanora Fagan was born on April 7, 1915 and is from the
Quaker City formally known as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Eleanora childhood could be best
described as unsteady, at times. During these trying points in her life, Eleanora enjoyed singing along
to records and escape the harsh reality of her life. When she made the move to New York with her
mother around the age of 15, she began to perform at local clubs under the name Billie . After a while
of singing solo, Billie was discovered by producer John Hammond and her career had begun. Holiday
then began to work solo at the New York Café Society club. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

She began to play piano at her father s church for some time. Nina dreamed of becoming a pioneer
African American pianist but her hopes and dreams were crushed when her acceptance to an
institution was denied. Unsurprisingly, Nina Simone s ethnicity influenced the rejection of her
application. This did not stop her as she began to play at local bars and soon enough, at the age of 24,
she caught the attention of several labels. One of Simones most famous and controversial pieces of art
is the track titles Mississippi Goddam . This track rose to fame by unsettling her relationship with
white listeners but strengthening her position within the civil rights movement. Nina Simones
Mississippi Goddam was a track that the artist wrote following the horrific events that took place in
Mississippi and Alabama. In Mississippi, a prominent civil rights activist named Medgar Evars was
murdered. Meanwhile in Birmingham, Alabama a church was bombed taking the lives of four young
African American women. Enraged, Simone retaliated by doing what she does best, music. She
debuted the song at New York in Carnegie Hall to hundreds of listeners. Simone was destined to bring
the truth of the horrors that occurred to her predominantly white crowd. This song showed great
frustration that Simone held toward the United States much so that in 1970; Simone left the United
States for good and relocated in France where she spent her last days. The next artist I would like to

Artificial Insemination In Mares
Artificial Insemination in mares has been around for quite some time. Some of the first Artificial
Insemination programs for horses were set up at the end of the 19th century. AI practices have been
around much longer than that, since it is used in other animal species. Artificial insemination programs
for equine animals aren t as advanced because it wasn t such a high priority to people back in the day
to AI their horse, they would just naturally breed them. It also wasn t such a high priority because
people didn t need horses like they used to back in the day. People used horses for plowing the fields,

If you apply too much pressure and puncture a hole through the reproductive tract and into the rectum
it can have serious consequences and can even be fatal to the mare. There is also an increased chance
of spreading disease if the semen isn t screened properly. Some of the most common diseases that are
passed on through semen are Contagious Equine Metritis, Equine Viral Arteritis, and Equine Infection
Anemia. These viruses are transported in the semen and can survive both chilling and freezing so any
imported semen has to undergo strict screening tests and documentation. The effects of these diseases
can be devastating to the horse population. Even though there are problems and risks associated with
artificial insemination in horses there are also benefits to it too and ways that you can mitigate the
risks. If the procedure is preformed in a vet clinic the stocks can be used to safely position the mare
for scanning and inseminating, as well as vets know how to do the procedure to that if the horse move
there is less of a risk of damaging anything. Mares can also be sedated to do the procedure if its done
on a farm where there are no stocks present. This will be more costly however because you have to
give the mare drugs to sedate her. another advantage to using AI is if you have a stallion that is

What do these circumstances imply?
Once you figure step 1. .2 out, use your imagination to connect to the character.
*Audition tip: When preparing for an audition, don t be nervous because you re worried about acting
the part...
Remember I m not nervous because I am this character; I feel its emotions, its struggles, its love and

part or not, is to prepare yourself to become this character!
Anytime a noun is mentioned circle it, you need to remember it and really make a relation to it! For

My audition wasn t believable; I think during the middle of my journey it looks like I ve become
apathetic, especially during a time where I should ve shown how much I wanted this girl.
When I got out of my character (when I disconnected) I stopped listening because I became nervous:
like I stopped acting and all the sudden was aware that I had all these stage lights cameras on me.
I didn t use my environment.
When I m re watching film, I couldn t see myself being authentic in those moments, like that s not
how I would act; knowing myself, I think I d come off as more shy and awkward during this date.
I got lost in the page.
My Criticism: Take everything personally! What s your need! If you re feeling overwhelmed with
remembering the technicalities of preparing for your cold read, as well as taking stage direction, just
focus on the need. Knowing your need is the most important thing that can help you prepare for an

Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Tempest
On Thursday 1st December 2016, the RSC s (Royal Shakespeare Company) production of The
Tempest was performed to an audience of around one thousand people at the Royal Shakespeare
Theatre in Stratford upon Avon. It was directed by the RSC s artistic director Gregory Doran, whose
version s aim was to break new boundaries in theatre making through its heavy reliance on cutting
edge technology to create magnificent spectacles and revitalise used tropes of past productions. Being
the first classical production to use live motion capture, Doran s imagination severs Shakespeare s last
play from some of its old ties and shifts it into the twenty first century. The play begins in media res,
enthralling the audience by immediately throwing them into chaos and disarray from the very first
scene. Martin Meisel states that the printed play acts as a manual or a blueprint for performance and
thus the RSC s performance, with its crescendo of thunderous music, flashing visual projections and
erratic lighting to mimic a storm brought the playwright s words to life before the audience s eyes. It
could be argued that the shipwreck in Act I Scene I captivated the audience s senses by creating strong
visual and auditory cues to invoke a sense of enigmatic intrigue and perhaps fear at the frantic scene,
placing them at the forefront of the shipwreck itself. The spectacle of this nautical scene could also
mirror the importance of expedition and voyage during the 1600 s, whether such travels

louder and louder in John Doe s head from his guilt, and finally he shouts, Yes! Yes, I killed him. Pull

not stop!? Finally the reader knows that it was John Doe s guilt that was pressuring him to confess,
knowing that the cops never heard the heartbeat. The theme of this story is that guilt will pressure your
conscience to confess.
First off, John Doe states, True, nervous, very very dreadfully nervous, I had been and I am mad. Just

familiar with this smell. College London described as a combination of grassy notes with a tang of
acids and a hint of vanilla over an underlying mustiness, this unmistakable smell is as much a part of
the book as its contents. However, where does this smell come from? It is exhilarating and drifts
throughout the aisles in the library. On the opposite end is the refreshing, crisp, new book smell. These
books are giving off several hundred volatile compounds (VOCs).
There is nothing quite like new book smell. It is exhilarating to open a newly printed book and grow
gleeful at the words that you have been long waiting to read. This special scent comes from a
combination of the paper, the ink, and the adhesives. These are all ... Show more content on

For a new book, the fresh woody smell is just the substances that it is made of. An old, well read, book
contains the same materials, but just ones that have been through the wringer. The chemicals have
been broken down by time and release the well known and well loved smell. The reason we love these
chemical concoctions may come down to our emotion connection with the story. Books make us feel
something movies cannot. It is almost a more personal connection as if the book is welcoming you
like an old friend. With the rise of e readers and other electronic ways to get or entertainment the smell
of a book may become a lost love. It is hard to imagine children years from now never knowing what
loveliness the smell of a book contains. Not to say that e readers are not useful inventions, but to lose
the physical book is something I fear to imagine. The glorious smell of a book is well researched by
scientists everywhere because book lovers worldwide relate to the intoxicating

The Late 19th Century Hypersexualization Of Salome, By...
The main focus of this article was on the depiction of the figure Salome, and the meanings behind
these interpretations. Lawrence Kramer discusses this topic on two fronts: the late 19th century
hypersexualizing of Salome and a more critical approach that stresses the study of the music itself.
The author presents the works of many late 19th century artists and draws upon criticism/discussion of
more modern scholars to help make his point. He concludes that though it would be easy to analysis
Salome, especially in the late 19th century, as the Freudian trend towards sexualizing everything, it
also provides a deeper view of the cultural underpinnings that create some of these dated and
misogynistic notions/ideas.
The author begins by presenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As was mentioned in class, Kramer highlights to artistic and cultural depictions of Salome not only as
a product of their time, but as objects with social agency, object that created the zeitgeist of their time.
This demonstrates a real life example of Frith s idea that identity is created through music, or in this
case that arts. In this discussion around a female figure, the artists who present their interpretations of
her not only contribute to the artistic realm, but inform and reinforce social dynamics. The musical
examples that the author presents in his discussion serve as bridge between the literary criticism their
musical embodiment. It also highlights the manner in which issues surrounding gender were discussed
which, as seen with previous examples (Crawford and Copland), shares much of the same language
when addressing issues around race and ethnicity. Also, when looking at the dichotomies inherent in
the representations of John and Salome (Christian v.s. Hebrew, tonal v.s. atonal, male v.s. female), the
emerging sentiment is that of us v.s. them, which serves as the basis for many misunderstandings or
problems around race and ethnicity. This then ties into the idea of politics in music, such that a
composer or group of people are not only creating and accepting a certain identity, the very act of
doing so can be against mainstream or country currents. It could be understood as revolutionary acts.

Neonatal Nursing Career
It has always been a dream of mine to pursue a career as a Neonatal Nurse. I chose this career because
my love for babies/infants started out at a young age, and as I developed in school, I learned that I
have a passion for science and the medical field. Although this career is known to be more rigorous, I
believe the rewards outweigh the challenges. Neonatal nurses work with newborn babies that were
born with a variety of problems ranging from premature birth, cardiac malformations, not being fully
developed, and more. These nurses also work with the families of the babies in comforting and
educating the parents as to what to expect and how to properly care for their baby. The environment is
typically fast paced and can be found in different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jonesboro or Conway to finish my education. I am also very interested in two really good programs
with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and/or the Baptist Health program. The
great thing about them is that they will pay for your school as long as you sign to work for them

Terri Schiavo Case Summary
Without a living will Terri Schiavo, an individual who collapsed and was unable to communicate her
final scenario of how she preferred to end her life or pursue an alternative given her circumstances,
commenced a highly complex legal discussion within the U.S court system. Being incapable of
conveying her end of life issues and neglecting to appoint a health care power of attorney proceeding
her condition, Schiavo s family did not know what her wishes were. With conflicting notions from the
medical, judicial, as well as personal dispositions, Schiavo s case and her life were in the hand of
morally conflicted others (Cavanaugh Blanchard Fields, 2011, Jennings, 2010).
Without advanced directives, Schiavo s situation formulated tension within legal and healthcare
communities. Several physicians proclaimed Schiavo was in a persistent vegetative state, diagnosing
her with no higher order of brain functioning to be able to conceive collective thoughts, while other
health care providers disagreed. Additionally, Schiavo s parents and husband had adverse sentiments
towards what actions to proceed with Schiavo s state, arising contradictory conceptions within the ...

Breaking The Barriers In Robert Frost s Mending Wall
Mending Wall by Robert Frost defines the walls that people have a tendency to build into their lives to
keep other people out. People the majority of the time attempt to respect their neighbors barriers, and
will assist in conserving their boundaries by respecting their personal space. Nevertheless, some
outgoing neighbors will attempt to tear down these walls while still continuing to respect their
neighbor. Additionally, if a friendly neighbor is able to establish unwanted holes in one s wall, they
will in all likelihood help mend these holes so as to keep the integrity of the relationship. Altogether,
individuals in today s society are afraid to allow strangers into their personal lives. People build these
walls in fear that if they allow someone close to them, they give them the ability to hurt them.
Individuals frequently build walls around them, inhibiting others from becoming too close to them.
Additionally, out of respect, true friends often help maintain these wall in order to circumvent conflict.
Furthermore, still being able to maintain a healthy relationship, strangers will avoid infringement of
other s wall. These types of relationships can often be seen in a work environments or amongst
neighbors. In summary, some people regularly attempt to preserve a welcoming affiliation with those

detail about what you expect to write. Title: Social Security and Old Age Thesis: Continuing changes
in the Social Security System make it almost impossible to plan intelligently for one s retirement. A
thesis statement is narrow, rather than broad, so that it can be fully supported. Broad: The American

The Chuckwallas and Evolutionary Research
Ever since Charles Darwin s first publication of On the Origin of Species in 1859, island habitats have
been used by a number of scientists as the most efficient laboratories to observe the natural process of
evolution taking place in modern day organisms. Several kilometers northeast of the Galapagos
Islands, where Darwin famously performed his research, is a small group of islands in the Sea of
Cortés, also known as the Gulf of California, between the Baja California peninsula and Mexico (see
Figure 1 on page 18). Here many evolutionary biologists of the 20th and 21st century performed
research on the insular organisms inhabiting these island habitats. One group of lizards in particular
known by the common name chuckwallas has gained a lot of focus in evolutionary research.
Chuckwallas is the name of organisms in the Sauromalus genus apart of the Iguanidae family. They
are herbivorous lizards commonly found in the deserts of southwestern United States and Northern
Mexico. Three species, in particular, are found on the islands off the cost of the mainland within the
Sea of Cortés: Sauromalus obesus (= ater), Sauromalus varius, and Sauromalus hispidus (see Figure 2
on page 20). S. obesus is a common species found on the mainland as well as few islands, while S.
varius are S. hispidus are endemic to specific islands in the Sea of Cortés: mainly San Esteban Island
and Angel de la Guarda Island, respectively. Both of these insular species also show signs of
gigantism

False Memory
1. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.218) defines memory as the internal record of previous events or
experiences. Memory is a constructive process where the information is organized and shaped, while
being processed, stored and retrieved (Huffman Dowdell, 2015, p.218). Sometimes this construction
leads to errors and constructs false memories. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.219) describes three basic
operations of memory; encoding, storage and retrieval. They define encoding as the processing the
information into the memory system. Storage is defined as retention of the information which has
been processed. And they defined retrieval as recovery of the stored information. They compared these
three operations of the memory to functioning of the computer, where the input data is first encoded,
then stored on a flash or drive and finally the information is retrived from the stored files. In order to

Roediger (2014) gives evidence for benefits of testing in his article how tests make us smarter. He
explains that appropriate use of different kinds of testing, helps students to practice the important skill
of retrieving and using knowledge. He gives an example from an assessment how well students
remembered the material they had read. First students were tested on some. Most of the students
recalled about 70 percent of the material. The students were asked to reread the other passages which
were not tested, thus by re exposing 100 percent of the ideas. The final tests were given after few days.
The passages which were tested just after reading were remembered more than those that had been
reread. He describes this improved retention after the testing as the testing effect or the retrieval
practice effect, which makes the learning and remembering strong. This article supports that testing
promotes retrieval phase. Testing involves recalling of the information from the memory, which is
defined as retrieval, thereby it promotes to store

Literary Analysis Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
Deliberate authorial choices become crucial in getting the readers attention in a said literary work.
Authors spend their whole career developing these techniques to create a style that is their own.
Shirley Jackson displays her talent to the reader in her writing of a pessimistic short story that she is
most famous for. Her famous short story The Lottery is one to keep the reader interested not only in
the content but in the way she presents it and the emotional toll that it has on the readers. The story
follows a town which partakes in a ritualistic lottery. Each household draws from a black box and
whomever draws the black circle wins. The family who wins draws again and the winner of the family
gets stoned. Jackson presents an pessimistic story which reveals all the story s meaning at the end. It is
through her deceiving style, her deliberate technical choices, Shirley Jackson first lulls her reader then
shocks them as she reveals a story that takes a look at following blindly and the danger of
misinterpreting religion and traditions, that is a result of evil hiding in the ordinary elements of life. In
the first reading of The Lottery, no reader suspects the events of the ending. A contributing factor to
this shock that Jackson produces is the syntax. Jackson begins her story with long and involved
sentences written in declarative form. These lengthy sentences tend to lull the reader into the content
which has been written. Jackson writes these sentences to create a

  • 2. Straight Outta Scenarios Straight Outta Compton Straight Outta Compton opens with the sound of a police helicopter. We are in Compton, a city in Los Angeles, with large amounts of poverty and violence, and a distinct absence of white people. It s the mid 1980s, gang and police violence are every day. Out of all this comes N.W.A: a rap group that decided to take a showdown with the community and writes songs about how life really was for five black, young boys from Compton. Straight Outta Compton is based on the rise and fall of the rap group N.W.A. The acting in this film is memorable. There are especially two actors who deserve recognition. The first one is the O Shea Jackson Jr, which plays the role of the Ice Cube in the film. Jackson Jr is the son of the Ice Cube ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The grade with the most depth and the most emotional story in the film is Eazy E. Mitchell is doing an excellent job in the role of the rapper who both founded and crashed N.W.A. Straight Outta Compton is about the legendary rap group N.W.A, and their journey from being young, ambitious boys in the streets of Compton to become world renowned artists. The film naturally has a lot of good music, and Joseph Trapanese has done a good job of mixing N.W.A music and other songs, both contemporary and newer, into the film. The music is best when we get to enter the studio and watch the artist s record songs. Fuck Tha Police became one of N.W.A s most famous songs, and the film tells the story of how this song originated. We get a historical insight into the Los Angeles Police s view of blacks in the 80 s and 90 s. Straight Outta Compton is as much a socially critical movie as a biographical film, and this is one of the film s biggest strengths. Songs like Express Yourself, Fuck Tha Police and Straight Outta Compton provoked many, but they also created attention around a new music genre, and the group was a tremendous success. In addition, they became a great inspiration for several great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Effects Of Climate Change On Canada s Agriculture Climate Change will positively impact Canada s Agriculture Thesis: Climate change will negatively impact Canada s Agriculture due to heavy rainfall, droughts, irrigation problems, pesticide issues and not enough nutrients available? Intro Agriculture is highly dependent upon weather and climate in order to produce the food necessary to sustain human life. North America is the world s largest and most productive supplier of food and fiber (3). Canada is the second largest country in the world however it only contains five percent of land that is suitable for farming (7). This small farming area is divided in two different zones. The first zone is the great Prairies located in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the mixed Wood Plains of the St. Lawrence River and the second zone is the Great Lakes regions (7). Approximately 80% of Canada s major farming is done the Prairies (7). There have been several recent studies that indicate most regions of Canada to warm up during the next 60 years (3). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2007 projected that global average temperature to increase by 1.5 to 4.5 degrees Celsius (3). Ironically, this would be the largest increase in global mean temperature in the last 10, 000 years (3). According to the comprehensive Canada Country Study (CCS) all the Global Climate Model (GCM) indicates Canada will be impacted with the most warming (7). Notwithstanding, SPMS has likewise been scrutinized for a few reasons, for example, empowering unreasonable practices, smothering development and learning, and having little impact on basic leadership forms. • 5. Research ‚Äì Methodology and Ethics RESEARCH METHODOLOGY AND ETHICS This essay attempts to identify and sum up two research methods (Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods), assess their relative strengths and weaknesses and explain how two ethical issues arise from research. Qualitative and Quantitative research approaches are two of the various methods used in sociological research. The use of these methods can be very important and can normally produce efficient, realistic and logical results. So what is qualitative research and what is quantitative research? To begin with, we look at the distinctions between the forms of research. Qualitative descriptions can play the important role of suggesting possible relationships, causes, effects and dynamic processes. Because statistics are not used, but rather qualitative research uses a more descriptive, narrative style, this research might be of particular benefit to the practitioner as she, or he could turn to qualitative reports in order to examine forms of knowledge that might otherwise be unavailable, thereby gaining new insight. Qualitative research adds flesh and blood to social analysis. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods have some similarities, for instance, whilst quantitative research may be mostly used for testing theory, it can also be used for exploring area and generating hypotheses and theory. • 6. Human Needs In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men Its said that we always want what we don t have. That as human beings we always have the need for something. We call these necessities our human needs. In the novel Of Mice and Men which is written by John Steinbeck we saw an abundance of characters who have human needs. The novel showed how characters would act when they were missing these needs and to what extent they acted to relieve themselves. The four main human needs that the novel reflected were the need for security, realism, idealism, and connection. The novel clearly expresses these human needs. In the novel, the prime example for a character with the need for security is Crooks. Crooks suffers from racism because of being black and was alienated from the rest of the farmhands. Due to this segregation, he would spend his time in the barn rubbing his back with a bottle of liniment (Steinbeck 67). The liniment is like an invisible coat of protection for Crooks, protecting him from forces outside of him. Crooks needs this form of security because it keeps him being a realist, rather than an idealist. The rubbing of the ointment is also what he goes back to whenever he feels false hope. An example would be when Crooks spoke up to Curley s wife and she said well you keep your place then, nigger (Steinbeck 81). After being told that Crooks sat down, waited awhile then he reached for the liniment bottle (Steinbeck 83). That is why security is a human need reflected in the story. Realism is another human need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within the span of two years I had visited four doctors, including psychiatrists, that each gave me a new type of medicine to help. What is strip mining? Encyclopædia Britannica Online defines strip mining as the removal of vegetation, soil, and rock above a layer of coal, followed by the removal of the coal itself ( strip ). Most Americans don t realize the impact this material of biological origin that can be used as a source of energy ( fossil ), or fossil fuel, has on their everyday lives or the nation s economy. According to Harper, the change in mineral content of land affected by surface mining prohibits growth of indigenous plant life and allows foreign plant life to invade, changing the areas ecosystem (Harper). Water contamination is the next major concern of environmental groups. The Environmental Protection Agency, the governmental regulatory agency created in 1970 to manage the enforcement of environmental policy, states its concerns in a letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2009 (United). Specifically addressing mines in West Virginia and Kentucky, the EPA expressed serious concerns over water pollution from strip mining ( EPA ). The rupture of an ash dike at the Tennessee Valley Authority s Kingston Fossil Plant in Roane County, TN on December 22, 2008 granted credibility to the EPA s concerns. • 11. The Reason That Chip Wilson Plunged Lululemon Into Crisis Analysis The reason that Chip Wilson plunged Lululemon into crisis again is because of three major issues: lack of media training as a spokesperson, lack of comprehensive crisis management plan in the company, and failure of internal communication. First of all, spokesperson media training is part of crisis preparation. In this case, lacking media training includes training for a TV interview and training for filming a video apology. Prior to Chip Wilson s interview with Bloomberg TV, managers from the PR department should have conducted a comprehensive media training to Wilson. Topics cover from diagnosing company s vulnerabilities, to preparing for difficult questions, to how to utilize chances to re enhance the company s image, and how to risk averse after a major crisis. As Wilson s answer caused another crisis, I assume that he was not ready to answer the questions of sheer pants recall, nor he was ever participated in any media training at all. Erik Bernstein who runs a crisis management blog noted that some people should never act as spokesperson. In fact, what surprised me was that as a company s founder and chairman of board, it was Chip Wilson s responsibility to have a general knowledge about the crisis and what caused the crisis and what procedures they have taken to solve the crisis. Even though he was never prepared for those questions beforehand, answers such as women s bodies don t fit its pants should have never came up. This crisis could have been ... Some of his best works are because of the times he has spent in war. Stories such as the Old Man and the Sea, The Killers , The Undefeated , and The Big Two Hearted River were all influenced by war and the times Hemingway spent fighting for the cause. All of Hemingway s most famous works follow a special code, grace under pressure. These codes tell how one must accept life for how it is. That we are not always able to change it so the best we can do is take it as life hands it to us. In addition, that one should stick to their own path in life and not make trouble for others. Hemingway s code show how one should live their life in a way that is solely their life, which one should never try to inflict their ways or values onto others. Hemingway uses grace under pressure to relate to real life events and how one should handle it. In The Old Man and the Sea, before the boy and the old man made their way to get ready for the old man s trip out to sea the next day, the boy sees how the old man is aging. They were strange shoulders, still powerful although very old, and the neck was still strong too and the creases did not show so much when the old man ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adjusting perception can allow one to overcome hardships and understand the community around them. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, characters discover the true background behind those who are outcasts in society. Likewise, in Lost in the Barrens by Farley Mowat, characters ascertain that their long term enemies were truly innocent. In The Cold Equations by Tom Godwin, the pilot of the Emergency Dispatch Ship, Barton, unearths the horror of the stowaway as he discovers her motives. To begin my essay, I would like to start off with arguably the most iconic civil rights movement influencers of all time, Billie Holiday. Eleanora Fagan was born on April 7, 1915 and is from the Quaker City formally known as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Eleanora childhood could be best described as unsteady, at times. During these trying points in her life, Eleanora enjoyed singing along to records and escape the harsh reality of her life. When she made the move to New York with her mother around the age of 15, she began to perform at local clubs under the name Billie . Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Tempest On Thursday 1st December 2016, the RSC s (Royal Shakespeare Company) production of The Tempest was performed to an audience of around one thousand people at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford upon Avon. It was directed by the RSC s artistic director Gregory Doran, whose version s aim was to break new boundaries in theatre making through its heavy reliance on cutting edge technology to create magnificent spectacles and revitalise used tropes of past productions. Being the first classical production to use live motion capture, Doran s imagination severs Shakespeare s last play from some of its old ties and shifts it into the twenty first century. The play begins in media res, enthralling the audience by immediately throwing them into chaos and disarray from the very first scene. Martin Meisel states that the printed play acts as a manual or a blueprint for performance and thus the RSC s performance, with its crescendo of thunderous music, flashing visual projections and erratic lighting to mimic a storm brought the playwright s words to life before the audience s eyes. It could be argued that the shipwreck in Act I Scene I captivated the audience s senses by creating strong visual and auditory cues to invoke a sense of enigmatic intrigue and perhaps fear at the frantic scene, placing them at the forefront of the shipwreck itself. Lawrence Kramer discusses this topic on two fronts: the late 19th century hypersexualizing of Salome and a more critical approach that stresses the study of the music itself. The author presents the works of many late 19th century artists and draws upon criticism/discussion of more modern scholars to help make his point. He concludes that though it would be easy to analysis Salome, especially in the late 19th century, as the Freudian trend towards sexualizing everything, it also provides a deeper view of the cultural underpinnings that create some of these dated and misogynistic notions/ideas. The author begins by presenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As was mentioned in class, Kramer highlights to artistic and cultural depictions of Salome not only as a product of their time, but as objects with social agency, object that created the zeitgeist of their time. This demonstrates a real life example of Frith s idea that identity is created through music, or in this case that arts. In this discussion around a female figure, the artists who present their interpretations of her not only contribute to the artistic realm, but inform and reinforce social dynamics. The musical examples that the author presents in his discussion serve as bridge between the literary criticism their musical embodiment. It also highlights the manner in which issues surrounding gender were discussed which, as seen with previous examples (Crawford and Copland), shares much of the same language when addressing issues around race and ethnicity. Also, when looking at the dichotomies inherent in the representations of John and Salome (Christian v.s. Hebrew, tonal v.s. atonal, male v.s. female), the emerging sentiment is that of us v.s. them, which serves as the basis for many misunderstandings or problems around race and ethnicity. This then ties into the idea of politics in music, such that a composer or group of people are not only creating and accepting a certain identity, the very act of doing so can be against mainstream or country currents. It could be understood as revolutionary acts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes this construction leads to errors and constructs false memories. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.219) describes three basic operations of memory; encoding, storage and retrieval. They define encoding as the processing the information into the memory system. Storage is defined as retention of the information which has been processed. And they defined retrieval as recovery of the stored information. Deionized water was added to the volumetric flask to the mark and the UV vis absorption spectrum of the crude product was recorded. Part 2: Resolution of Racemic Δ/Λ [Co(en)3]Cl3 complexes 1.3g of crude product obtained from part 1, 0.81g of L (+) Tartaric acid and a magnetic stirrer bar were placed in a 50 mL beaker containing 2mL of deionized water. 5mL of 10% NaOH stock solution were then added dropwise to the reaction mixture. The mixture was gently stirred on a hotplate until the solids were observed to be completely dissolved. A piece of aluminum foil was then used to seal the beaker and kept in the fumehood for a week. After a week, the crystals of [Λ Co(en)3][(+) tart]Cl∙5H2O were collected by suction filtration using a Hirsch funnel. The crystals were subsequently washed with 3 × ...
