Boeing which are working towards creating more environmentally friendly aircrafts.
In addition, according to Heathrow Skyport (2011), in July 2011 Finnair operated the first longest

Evaluation on Search Engines
Final Evaluation As I have come to an end of this Unit 2, I am now going to evaluate on each elements
that were useful to me while I was doing this unit. The main sections that I am going to cover are the
search engines used, search techniques used and search criteria, sources of information used,
comparison of the internet and non internet sources and the quality of the information found. Internet
Source Most frequently used search engine for this unit was Google as it is quite obvious but I also
tried to use other search engines which I am not that familiar to such as Bing, Ask Jeeves, Dogpile,
Answers, MSN Search, Yahoo and AOL. While using Bing I found out that it allows the user to search
data in Twitter as well which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I used many different sources of information such as internet websites, videos, articles etc and the non
internet sources were the magazines, newspapers and TV. Personally I found the internet sources
easier to look for any wanted information as it was a lot quicker and I was able to personalise the type
of search that I wanted to conduct. I also had the facility to screen print, copy the main points and get
the images instantly so that I could show it as my reference. Non internet sources was also very useful
to find the information but I had to spend more time while researching as I had to flick through many
pages just to find the article about the laptops and the information that I gained were all very limited.
The possible improvement would be that if I tried researching more using the non internet sources by
talking with the technology experts etc. There were many dates that I had come across during the
research of the pull out section. In order to check that if the dates were correct I looked into many
different search engines which showed that the dated that I obtained were accurate. To check the
reliability of the results in the search engines I researched typed Osborne 1 in Google, Bing, Yahoo
and Dogpile.
Even if I used four different search engines the results that I found were very similar

Teaching in a Tri State Area: Clay County Schools Clay County is located in the far western part of
the state if North Carolina. The country is part of the tri state area of North Carolina, Georgia, and
Tennessee. This tri state area is home to over 5 county school systems all within a 20 to 40 mile
driving radius of each other. Clay County specifically borders the state of Georgia and is only about
20 miles away from the Tennessee boarder. Due to the location of Clay County Schools the district
finds itself recruiting and competing for quality teachers each year from the surrounding areas. Filling
teacher vacancies is not as much of a problem as retaining teachers for more than a year to two. Good
teachers make a difference in student achievement, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Odden and Wallace, this pay structure will not come at a massive cost to a school

important to note that the school district will have to do their part in making sure adequate
professional development is available for teachers to reach the performance goals included in this
structure. Lastly, this type of salary funding if adopted would be consistent for Clay County Schools,
unlike a add on program that could appear one year and be gone the next. Teachers at Clay County

I Am A White, Natural Born Citizen Of The United States
Ethnic Heritage Term Paper I am a white, natural born citizen of the United States, but my family is
made up of a mix of immigrants. My paternal grandmother immigrated to the United States from Sao
Miguel, Portugal. My paternal grandfather s ancestors immigrated from England and Scotland to
Canada. Some of my mother s paternal ancestors immigrated from Spain to France before immigrating
to Canada, and others were Aboriginal Canadians. Three out of my four grandparents have roots in
Quebec, Canada. French Canadian is not a nationality that I identify with, but it is the culture that has
impacted my life the most, outside of American culture.
Out of my six Quebecois great grandparents only my maternal great grandmother is known to be of an
aboriginal background. All of my other great grandparents immigrated to or colonized Canada. There
is little known about my great grandmother s history, except that she moved to North Adams,
Massachusetts from Quebec and married my great grandfather in her early teens.
The first nations of Canada, prior to the landing of Europeans, were divided into six major
geographical groups. My great grandmother s ancestors most likely belonged to the Iroquoian first
nations. The Iroquois people were not nomadic and had a complex system of democratic government.
They are known for the impressive construction of longhouses and their system of farming corn,
beans, and squash. Running was the most popular form of transportation to the Iroquois people

Sidney Crosby
Sidney Crosby
The place was Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Day was Friday, August 7, 1987. On this day, a man, Troy,
and a woman, Trina, rejoiced in the birth of their first born child, a son. A son that would soon choose
to live, eat, and breathe hockey. A child, unknown at the time, who would soon take the National
Hockey League by storm. A child who would become the greatest, talented player of all the hockey
world, and who would remarkably achieve this goal by the age of nineteen. This is Sidney Patrick
Crosby and this is his story. It all started when Sidney s father, Troy, who played major junior hockey
as a goalie, gave him a little hockey stick at the age of two! Sidney played around with the stick and

Crosby was named the tournament s top forward. He was also named to the competitions all star team

welcoming and the city very exciting. Since Sidney s family stayed in Nova Scotia to raise their other
child, Taylor, who is nine years younger than Sidney, Mario Lemieux invited Sidney to live with him
and his family in Pittsburgh. Sidney lives in a separate wing of the house. He really enjoys life at the
Lemieux s. They eat dinner together when there is not a game. Sidney has fun with Mario s four
children. In fact, after Sidney returns home from a road trip the children can not wait to see him

fun. His best friend, who also happens to be his on the road roommate, is his fellow teammate Colby
Armstrong. Sidney and Colby, along with the rest of the team, often enjoy playing pranks on each
other. For example, they often steal each other s room keys and trash their rooms. They also do soccer
drills prior to a game to get the energy pumping. Almost every player has a pre game ritual. Sidney s

Lucretius Beliefs
Epicurus supported that the images people had for gods were varying due to the different
preconceptions that had been implanted to every person separately. Very often there were false
convictions expressed by people even if their preconceptions reflected their own natural goals.
Lucretius protested against voices who presented gods as having evil intents and as prone to partiality
and fury: Unhappy human race, to attribute such behavior, and bitter wrath too, to the gods! What
lamentations did they lay up for themselves in those days, what wounds for us, what tears for our
descendants ? Moreover, Lucretius stated: Unless you expel these ideas from your mind and drive far
away beliefs unworthy of the gods and alien to their tranquillity, ... Show more content on

Even Epicurus followers were confused and perplexed by Epicurus theology such as Lucretius and
Cicero s Vellius who combined information and syllogisms that satisfied realists as well as idealists.
Both interpretative parties had their own reasons to attach Epicurus both to the realistic and the
idealistic context and both of them had to defend their theories against arguments that worth
consideration. I personally believe that Epicurus was more an idealist than a realist. He obviously
stated that there are gods a statement that could easily describe him as a realist but the fact that he
encouraged people to construct the conception of god and that their true nature, lifestyle and way of
thinking were completely unknown to people compel me to believe that Epicurus was idealist and
gods were merely thought constructs articulating people s unrealistic view of the life they desired.
Philodemus mentioned that Epicurus involved himself in all the traditional festival and sacrifices .
However, this attestation does not prove that Epicurus was surely devoutly religious and believed that
gods were existing living beings; he could have acted in that way to give a boost to his social status or
even to protect himself from the dangerous accusations of

DEN 302 Applied Aerodynamics
SURFACE PRESSURE MEASUREMENTS ON AN AEROFOIL IN TRANSONIC FLOW
Abstract
The objective of this exercise is to measure the pressure distribution across the surface on an aerofoil
in a wind tunnel. The aerofoil is tested under several different Mach numbers from subsonic to
supercritical. The purpose of measuring the pressure distributions is to assess the validity of the
Prandtl Glauert law and to discuss the changing chracteristics of the flow as the Mach number
increases from subsonic to transonic.
As a result of the experiment and computation of data, the aerofoil was found to have a critical Mach
number of M=0.732. Below this freestream Mach number the Prandtl Glauert law predicted results

Tension In Roald Dahl s Lamb To The Slaughter
Tension is a factor of life that is felt intuitively which means that it is hard to define and even harder to
convey, especially on a page. In his work Lamb to the Slaughter Roald Dahl perfectly executes
creating tension within his writing and in doing so within his reader. In his work he creates tension
through the inner and outer conflicts between characters, the meticulous decision of characterization,
and the conscious choice of places irony in the piece.
In the piece Lamb to the Slaughter Roald Dahl naturally creates tension through the inner and outer
conflicts of his characters. In the work Roald Dahl has the wife character, Mary Maloney, say to her
husband, Patrick, But you must eat! I ll fix it anyway, (3) She says this to Patrick even after he
repeatedly tells her to sit down because he is not hungry. This is the first time Mary directly disobeys
her husband. This conflict creates tension because it finally breaks her Patrick s thinning patience in
the story so far, which leads him to break and tell her news that upsets her. Roald Dahl also creates
tension by having Mary kill her husband, which is a conflict with a permanent consequence. On page
5 she thinks, So I ve killed him, this is after Patrick admits something, the details unknown to the
reader, that greatly upsets Mary, and the reader s watch as her honest shock turns into a brief moment
of violence. When Mary hits Patrick over the head with a lamb leg it creates tension because it is the

Penalizing Profanity Promotes Use of It Essay
Penalizing Profanity Promotes Use of It
Profane language is used once every six minutes on network television shows, every two minutes on
premium cable shows, and every three minutes in major motion pictures, according to a new study by
the Centre for Media and Public Affairs¹.
Upon learning this information, one would make the assumption that profanity is another common
attribute to our daily lives, such as brushing our teeth. But what is profane language? Webster s
dictionary defines it as being the condition or quality of being profane abusive, vulgar, or irreverent
and the use of such language. However, although society is being exposed to this coarse language
repeatedly, many are still being penalized for using it in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why? Because of the Toronto District School Board s Zero Tolerance ². However, the usage of
tobacco and alcohol is also liable to a 20 day suspension. Whether this was intended for or not, the
TDSB is promoting the image that usage of profane language is equivalent to that of tobacco and
alcohol. Its guidelines state that The Toronto District School Board is committed to providing a safe
learning and working environment for all students, staff and visitors to our schools . This statement
leads one to believe that the TDSB s mission is to keep its students safe by omitting and eliminating
safety hazards. Does a swearing person generate a safety hazard? The clear answer is no.
Some people have taken the usage of profane language as far as legal punishment. During an incident
in Standish, Michigan in August of 1998, a man was charged for using profane language, in
accordance to a 104 year old law, which forbids cussing in front of women and children. ³ The
incident began when 24 year old Timothy Boomer fell out of his canoe while heading down stream.
As he flopped in the water, he began yelling in the direction of his friends, inadvertently using
profanity as a means to attract their attention, as well as communicate urgency. Shortly following his
outburst, his friends learned of three sheriff s deputies on the riverbank staring at them with
binoculars. To their dismay, one of the deputies handed Boomer a misdemeanour citation. The charge:

Identity Of The American Identity
The American culture is made up of bits and pieces combined into one American Identity. Throughout
the process of finding this identity, came with courage, religion, and fear. These three concepts
provide compelling examples and experiences that have shaped Americans into the best country there
is. Having courage in life is often half the battle. John Smith encounters so many hardships that prove
he dares to keep pursuing his goal. Eventually, after defeating and beheading a succession of three
Turkish officers in single combat in Rumania, Smith was wounded in battle, taken as a prisoner and
sold into slavery to a Turk. Smith was passed from place to place until held prisoner on the Black Sea,
he murdered his master and fled back to Rumania via Russia and Poland, returning to England in the
winter of 1604 05. (Smith, pp. 82). Most people at this point would typically become slightly
discouraged because he has gotten beaten up and is questioning if he can accomplish this or fail. The
lesson we should take from Smith in this story is that no matter how hard things get if you have a goal
achieve it. There will defiantly be hardships that come your way, but nothing in this life comes easy.
For example, the British encounter many hardships such as hunger, sickness, and unfamiliarity. Being
thrown into adapting to new situations is often hard. The natives saw many things they were not
accustomed to, a few of which include, muskets, clothes, horses, compasses, and

How Does Neurodegenerative Disease Affect Personality...
There are times when you wonder if your love ones have been robbed of their personality identities.
They are no longer acting like they used to, is things everyone around you are saying. Scientists Nina
Strohminger and Shaun Nichols also wondered how does personality identity in individuals with
Neurodegenerative diseases affect the change in their personality identity. The underlying question is
what is the impact of someone with these diseases and their relationships with others. Are you affected
when your love one s identity change?
Psychologists Strohminger and Nichols took a few more steps farther to finding out the answers to
these questions. There is a widespread notice, both within the sciences and among the general public,
that mental deterioration can rob individuals of their identity. Yet there have no systematic
investigations of what types of cognitive damage lead people to appear to no longer be themselves.

Emergency room over utilization is one of the leading causes of today s ever increasing healthcare
costs. The majority of the patients seen in emergency rooms across the nation are Medicaid recipients,
for non emergent reasons. The federal government initiated Medicaid Managed Care programs to offer
better healthcare delivery, adequately compensate providers and reduce healthcare costs. Has
Medicaid Managed Care addressed the issues and solved the problem? The answer is Yes and No .
Throughout the early 1980 s and 1990 s the Federal Medicaid program was challenged by rapidly

It was also hoped that the number of uninsured people would dramatically decrease by offering
Medicaid managed care coverage to low income families and individuals that were not Medicaid
eligible. These services and coverage could be delivered through the Medicaid managed care carriers

States have chosen to two forms of Medicaid managed care to better deliver healthcare services
besides the traditional fee for service Medicaid programs; primary case management and traditional
health maintenance organizations. In primary care case management, the state Medicaid agency
contracts with a primary gatekeeper entity (e.g., physician, clinic) that coordinates primary and
specialty care for Medicaid beneficiaries. For healthcare maintenance type programs, a State Medicaid
agency contracts with an existing healthcare maintenance organization, prepaid health plan, or other
institutional health care provider who, in addition to proving primary care services, assumes insurance
risk of providing covered services. Typically primary case management are paid on a fee for service

are paid a capitation rate and are at full financial risk. (1)

Compare And Contrast Christopher Columbus And John Smith
Christopher Columbus and John Smith are both similar in the fact that they made their kin very proud
and became famous of their accounts of unexplored territory. Though their ideas of what to do with
what they encountered was different, they both were very brave men. They were different in a way
though. Columbus believed that there was a great value in terms of wealth to the natural resources he
saw on the islands and he used a different rhetoric to explain it. John Smith saw economic growth
possibilities in the fertile New England area that had a vast amount of natural resources, he also
valued different commodities than Columbus.
Christopher Columbus s description of the natural resources that he finds was actually quite similar to
John Smith s. Columbus s idea was different from Smith s though, he thought that these natural
resources were much more valuable in terms of wealth. When Columbus saw the beautiful stretches of
land that America had to offer he was excited of the riches that it will bring him and his mother
country Spain. Columbus believed that there was gold to be found in America and that America
stretched bigger than England. John Smith encountered natural resources like crops and fish in New
England, For hunting also: the woods, lakes and rivers afford not only chase sufficient, for any that
delights in that kind of toil, or pleasure;...pay. (Smith 125). The animals that John Smith run into are

Service Dog Therapy Essay
A therapy dog is skilled to care and offer comfort to patients in hospitals, retirement homes, schools,
catastrophe area, and people with learning complications. From a different perspective, a service dog
is an assistance dog trained specifically to help persons with disabilities including autism, hearing and
visual difficulties. The dogs aid cognitive therapy enabling the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
victims to expose themselves gradually to feelings and thoughts reminding them of the past. The dogs
offer comfort, affection, and companion that enable the victims to relax triggering the sense of
flashback within them. Flashback is critical in the treatment process of PTSD.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, on free will and comfort, offers the dogs to serve as a
companion to the PTSD victims. The department allows the dogs to serve the purpose of the grooming
and training. According to Shubert (2012), the dogs initially did not receive any special training, and
there existed no program concerning the dogs care. People used dogs as a source of fun helping
individuals to reduce stress. The dogs also assist in executing and taking orders after a period of

Mary Warren In The Crucible
In the Crucible there are a group of girls that go into the woods. They dance, chant, and some of them
even took there clothes off. They were caught by Reverend Parris. He wasn t sure on what to think of
it so he left it alone until that morning his daughter Betty was in bed sick. Parris and some others
began to investigate the girls, because they expected witchcraft. There are many people in this tale that
I could talk about, but the one I have chosen is Mary Warren. The reason for this is because in my
opinion she really helped bring the story to the conclusion that it did. Whether she meant to, or not.
She also had a change of heart in the play, more than once. So now we shall indulge ourselves into the
significance of this character and what role she truly plays. Mary Warren is a young girl, 18 years of
age. She lived as a servant to John and Elizabeth Procter. She is one of the many girls that went into
the woods to dance . After the girls were caught they tried to take the attention of of themselves and

Modern Masculinity And Its Impact On Modern Society
The majority of men are led to the believe that the ability to show weakness is regarded as the most un
male components; this means that vulnerability and openness which are absolutely important for self
exploration or personal development, are recognized as weak behaviors. After all, the modern men
still deal with relatively archaic messages related to the meaning of being a male or a man. For
instance, the society predicts men to be strong at all costs, to be stoic and unemotional, to be rescuers,
and, of course, to consider own work as a key priority (Vermunt). Thus, it is important to provide a
thorough investigation of the current ads in order to identify both positive and negative aspects in

In addition, the majority of the recent Super Bowl s ads intend to continue the existing trend in terms
of the exaggerated humor as a specific mechanism implemented in order to deflect the relevant
criticism, despite the fact that they use an openly angry tone and illustrate a natural patriarchal order
on display. After all, images of masculinity that can do double duty with a great variety of consumers,
including both male and female, are not extremely difficult to create in a modern culture, especially if
to pay attention to the fact that the muscular male body has a long and glorious aesthetic history
(Bordo, 178). Hollywood and mainstream media have also began depicting, rather explicitly, male
genitalia often enlarged using padding and photoshop (Bordo, 168). This stands true especially for
advertisement campaigns for underwear. If you compare the pictures of the Calvin Klein underwear
advertisement, you can see how Photoshop is used to give the model seemingly larger genitalia than in
real life. Over years of seeing such advertisements and depictions, it can create a serious impact on the
males viewing such images as it may leave them feeling inadequate or not manly enough even though
such images have been under Photoshop to seem bigger. Such feelings can create real psychological
damage where men may feel that big genitalia constitutes as manly.

Rough Set Theory was proposed by Polish scholar Pawlak in [10] . The in tegrity and the uncertainty

Talk Show Ellen Degeneres
When times are difficult and people feel as if there is no possible way they could ever be happy again,
one of the best ways to overcome that feeling of uselessness is by doing something you love to do.
One way some individuals believe is the best way to overcome difficult times is through comedy. One
person who believes making people laugh can help ease her pain is Ellen Degeneres. In her talk show
Ellen when she was upset about her dog being taken away from another family, she said, I m a human
being and I have bad days and I have sad days but when I walk out here and when ya ll cheer and
when you re here to dance and here to laugh and I know I make people happy, it changes my mood. I

She said that she found her calling when she performed a makeshift comedy routine about a person
that was telling a story while eating. Her performance at the party was noticed and she started getting
requests from local coffeehouses to perform for them as well. Ellen landed her first solid gig in 1981
as emcee at Clyde s Comedy Corner in the French Quarter which happened to be the only comedy
club in New Orleans at the time. Her reward for her shows at the Corner...was being named the
funniest person in America in 1982 by a talent scout for the cable channel Showtime. Degeneres first
gig had made a huge impact on her comical career because soon enough Ellen found herself touring
the United States in a Winnebago bus. But being named the Funniest person in America has its
downside. One of these downsides was having people try to humiliate you in front of a crowd. Ellen
recalled a time when she was working a club and the previous performer had turned the crowd against
her before she even took the stage. The front row was a bunch of guys who actually stood up, turned
their chairs around, and faced the other way, Degeneres said. Instead of giving up she ended up hiring
an agent and then entered into a contest at the San Francisco Comedy Festival where she came in
second! Her fame kept on rising between being called onto the Tonight Show and other talk shows.

Essay on The Evolution of Science Fiction
Despite decades between their writings, the similarities between H.G. Wells and P.K. Dick are
numerous and include the fact that both authors were far ahead of their time, had aspirations regarding
the universe and a future electronic era to come, had a theme revolving around a distant planet, and
challenged humanity. Both science fiction authors were beyond their time. Wells had the capability of
lifting up our fathers hearts with hopes, exciting them with the feeling that a new world was at the
point of being born and they were to inherit it (Dickson 17). Throughout all of his works, P.K. Dick

A Short Note On Diabetic Retinopathy ( Dr ) Is The...
Abstract Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is the deterioration of human eye as a result of increase in the
blood glucose level. Longer the patient has DR, higher the chance to develop purblind. The robust
detection of lesions in digital colour fundus images is an important step in the development of
automated screening system for diabetic retinopathy. In this work a novel method is introduced for
automatic detection of red lesions in the fundus image. A new set of shape features extracted from the
detected red lesion called the dynamic shape features that differentiate between the lesions and vessel
segments. The detected lesion candidates are classified using dynamic shape features based on the
medical values. The simulation analysis indicates that the proposed work is better than the previous
works in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, precision and specificity.
Keywords: Diabetic retinopathy, Fundus, Lesions, Dynamic shape features, Retina
Introduction
Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) affects the diabetic patients. Generally diabetics are of three types Type I,
II and III. The Type I diabetic is due to the genetic predisposition, Type II diabetic which usually
affects the adults. This is owing to over weight of children beyond their age limit and Type III is seen
only in pregnant women. The patients with Type I diabetics will only suffer from DR which influence
the retina. This leads the way to damage of retina and finally blindness.
DR is caused by red lesion which is composed of

its first official appearance on the internet in May of 2003. Within a month after its launch, LinkedIn
had successfully gained close to 5,000 members (LinkedIn, Corp. 2014). Today, LinkedIn has over
300 million members looking to improve their employment options. This success can be largely
attributed to the characteristics or features offered through membership, benefits members attain with
interacting with other members, their ability to tap into the underlying reasons individuals can be
motivated to join and their ability to create a successful online community.
According to LinkedIn s webpage they offer a variety of features that they have sorted into the
following three different categories: Identity, Insights Everywhere (LinkedIn, Corp, 2014). Under
Identity members can develop elaborate profiles that show what businesses or other members they are
connected to, recommendations and of course a virtual resume. Members can also search job listings,

NASA s Changing Problem Essay
NASA s Changing Problems
Has anyone ever realized that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is slowly
getting shut down for the whole world to see? This is changing NASA very much. It lost its shuttle
program, it had budget cuts to missions to earth, and even a cut in education. NASA was founded by
Dwight D. Eisenhower. NASA is most known for being the first company to send a person to the
moon. It is easy to tell that NASA s changed and is changing right now. The big question is what the
change is happening to. One thing is for sure. This changing in NASA is definitely for the worst. The
shuttle program has very drastically changed. The shuttle program is a program of reusable space

Now NASA s education budget has been drastically. NASA can no longer sponsor a lot of these
things, which, in turn will slow down the process of getting kids interested in space and space
exploration, so the USA will have to do that without the helpful monetary support of NASA. This is
what is concerning many people at NASA about what the future might hold for NASA.
Missions to earth have been slowed down over the years. Missions to earth are when NASA sends a
probe into space to look at the earth. This is significant because it helped us know more about how the
cloud systems work and how storms work. The missions to earth have started to slow down. The
missions to earth in the 1990 s were everywhere and for everything. Today, the Missions to earth are
not so common. Many are done with, twenty nine to be exact, twenty seven are still operating,
watching the earth, nine are under development still, and only five are being studied. This change
means that NASA will not have as many missions to earth as before, maybe not any in a few years.
This is concerning because it means that there could be something very alarming going on above the
earth that might be very serious.
NASA is ready to do amazing things. They plan to send astronauts to the moon for six months in only
six years from now, 2020. NASA

The Importance Of Hometowns
Growing up in a large city can provide children with important lessons on diversity and allow them to
explore incessantly. Growing up on a coast or near a mountain range supplies opportunities such as
hiking, swimming, and other great outdoor activities you may not find elsewhere. Unlike both of
these, I was raised in a small midwestern town with seemingly very little to do; however, this small
town has helped shape who I am today. Hometowns can provide many meaningful experiences
important to one s development and that is what Smithton, Illinois has done for me. I believe that my
hometown of Smithton, Illinois played a vital role in helping me develop my sense of creativity.
Living in a neighborhood outside of town I often ran out of things to do, but luckily my best friend
lived up the street. We were young, creative, and a little reckless which led to a lot of fun. Directly
behind my house were the woods, a ceaseless amount of trees, brush, and bugs. After walking and
exploring for a few minutes, the trees eventually diverge and there is a humongous downhill path. My
bestfriend and I saw this hill has a great opportunity; soon, we had a mission to build ramps so we
could jump over a monstrous brush pile at the bottom of the hill. We spent plenty of time seeking
action and trouble as the adrenaline junkie kids we were. Nevertheless, living in a small town means
you have plenty of boundaries and a finite number of opportunities. For this reason we soon grew

How To Quit Crutcher
Based on my experience with facing difficult decisions, I recommend Crutcher s Running Loose for
young readers who are dealing with similar issues. Running Loose is a novel that deals with Louie
having to face big decisions that is hard for him especially since he is having to face them at such a
stressful time in his life. The novel is relevant for today s young readers because in teenagers everyday
lives they struggle with facing big decisions all around them whether they know it or not.
An example from my personal experience would be one day when I was sitting in the bland walled,
loud, dirty cafeteria eating lunch, as any normal teenager seems to do in high school, my friends and I
were laughing and cutting jokes at one another. We were having such a wonderful time that we
neglected to notice that a student who happened to be one of our peers seemed to be looking down at
his food, sad, lonely, and needing comfort. By the time we saw the student sitting all alone it felt it
might have been all too late to ask if we should go sit with him. With the heart that I have, I felt so

What Defines Human Nature And The Hierarchy Of Human...
What defines human nature and the hierarchy of human relations? In this paper, I will argue that
Beauvoir s view that society constructs man, maleness, and the masculine as the human standard
(rendering woman, femaleness, and the feminine deviant and defective) is flawed. Although Beauvoir
s evidence was compelling I had several issues with some of the finer details such as what term
designates a human being, that a woman s body is considered disadvantaged, and that female nature is
defective. I also disagree with her statement that woman can t think of herself without man, woman is
only a symbol of sex to man, and that man and woman are the Self and the Other.
Firstly, Beauvoir argues that man represents the positive and the neutral while woman represents only
the negative. I feel that this statement is saying that woman is only what man are not. By making this
assumption I infer that Beauvoir feels woman is only considered when man has reached the limits of
their reach. However, I believe that man the line separating man and woman is inconclusive in its
stance. When looking at what is considered masculine and what is considered feminine, there are
some relatable similarities. For example, the work ethic of a man at work is similar to the work ethic
of a woman at home. A man would be expected to complete his work load in a proficient manner and
bring home money to the family. A woman would be expected to care for the family and the home in a
proficient and timely

Rhetorical Analysis Of John LeoWhen Life Imitates Video
Rhetorical analysis of John Leo essay When life imitates Video.
The Writer of When life imitates Video , John Leo has tried to persuade his readers the reason why
violent video games have negative impact on children s character. The first main goal of his article is
to show the relationship between playing murderous games and violent actions. His second main goal
is to make emotional appeal to parents the need to monitor their child from exposure of graphic
violent medias. Most of his argument comes from his personal believe otherwise not supported by any
evidence except making emotional(pathos) and logical(logos) appeal by trying to associate violence
occurred in the Colorado with violent video games. To further strengthen his argument, he cited the
Los Angles Times which describe the characters children display while watching morbid video games
and he tried to link the aggressive behavior modeled in the game and violent character. He assume the
whole society as his audience. As he stated it, we are now a society in which the form of play for
millions of youngsters is making a large number of people die .He succeeded in writing and
informative and an emotionally appealing article with a potential of convincing his audience against
violent video games. Leo on his writing has tried to persuade readers without putting concrete facts to
convince his readers. Most of his argument is based on personal belief. He have stated some violence s
which was inflicted by teenagers, which he believes, are caused by video games. The audiences
limitation include basic knowledge of video games since his audience include all walks of the society.
He has tried to convey his main passage to his audience with pathos if we want to avoid more littleton

Alcohol is. If an increase in crime rate or DUIs is seen, and the culprits test positive for THC, then
Marijuana legalization may have to be repealed because of dangerous effects on communities. As
Janne Nikkinen stated, In the US, legalization of marijuana has been accomplished by using gambling
as model how to gain acceptance for addictive product, and use of tax revenues seems to follow at
least first the pattern developed for lottery proceeds, (Nikkinen 476 484). Jane Nikkinen displays the
addictiveness and tax revenue of Marijuana in comparison to the addictiveness and tax revenue of
gambling. In gambling, you just want to keep betting more and more money even though you may be
losing tremendous amounts. It s similar to the United States 20+ Trillion debt (we just keep on
borrowing even though we are already have a colossal debt looming over our heads). Likewise,
Marijuana can become immensely addictive to regular users making it so that they just want it

Examine some of the key principles of the argument for the existence of God based upon religious
experiences
Religious experiences are experiences we have of the divine or God. These experiences may be
Mystical experiences, conversion experiences or revelatory experiences. Paul Tillich states that
religious experience is a feeling of ultimate concern , a feeling that demands a decisive decision from
the one receiving it. He describes it as an encounter followed by a special understanding of its
religious significance.
The argument for religious experiences is based on 3 premises. Premise one states that the experience
of X indicates the reality of X. One problem with this premise is that the experience of X does not
always indicate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problems with premise three can also be highlighted by looking at the religious experience of
Mosses when he saw God in the burning bush. When God came to him, Mosses had just killed a man
and run away into the desert. Therefore he could be experiencing extreme guilt which could cause him
to have an illusion. Also if he is in the desert then he was most likely dehydrated which again could
cause an illusion. Therefore other factors may be used to explain religious experiences.
Another example to support premise three, and one that addresses the problem of the subjective nature
of religious experiences, is corporate religious experiences. This is when large numbers of people all
have the same religious experience at the same time. The fact that they are experienced by many leads
to the fact that they can be objectively tested and the accounts validated adding further support for the
argument.
Those that argue that religious experiences are proof of the existence of God usually argue inductively.
This means that they look at the subjective testimonies of individuals who claim to have had religious
experiences in order to find similar characteristics and then draw the general conclusion that the
experiences can only be explained in terms of the existence of God. For example Swinburne argued

Sistine Chapel Challenges
The Sistine chapel was built between the years of 1475 and 1483 in Vatican City and is named after
the pope who had the chapel built, Sixtus IV. One of the most impressive things about the Sistine
chapel and one of the most famous works of art in history is Michelangelo s painting on the ceiling of
the chapel. The project was completed using fresco. In 1508 Michelangelo was requested by Pope
Julius II to repaint the chapel. The Chapel at the time was painted with a blue sky and gold stars. Pope
Julius II original request was to have the chapel painted with the twelve Christian Apostles and when
the project was completed Michelangelo had created more than 3,000 figures. The ceiling was created
depicting nine stories from the bible s book of genesis, including the The Creation of Adam , the most
famous panel of any. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first challenge and maybe the easiest for Michelangelo to overcome was the fact that he had no
experience painting with fresco and he considered himself a sculptor. The next challenge was the sheer
size of the painting at a whopping 14 meters by 40.5 meters. That is more than 132 square meters
larger than a basketball court. Completing this large of painting was a monumental task enough even
without all the other challenges faced by Michelangelo. Michelangelo accepted this commission
regardless and would continue to face many more challenges over the next four years. One of the most
obvious challenges that stood in the way of completing this challenging work of art was the fact that it
was the ceiling that needed to be painted. A local townsman offered to manufacture scaffolding for
Michelangelo that would hang from the ceiling, but Michelangelo refused because he did not want to
leave holes in the ceiling from where the scaffolding would have hung. Michelangelo then created his
own scaffolding that could be held in place by brackets in the

Unemployment

extended/ http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/economy/news/2014/01/10/81927/5 reasons
congress must extend unemployment insurance/ This article is of high importance to understand as
well as be able to place a solution for this increasing issue of unemployment and how globalization
and technology effects not just the companies using them but the population as a whole the people that
are being forced to leave and sit without jobs is leaving no choice but the federal government to have
to deal with all that is happening and adding expenses on the treasury. The issues at hand are
economic problems that greatly affect the financials of any country no matter how big, the article
speaks mainly about the lack of jobs and how There remain roughly three applicants for every open
job. This which can be related to a country having high population. Another is extending the
unemployment insurance benefit from 26 weeks to 47 weeks, this also puts high costs on the US at
25Billion$. There is the idea that if the UI benefits are cut there can also be loss of jobs for already
employed workers. More to add unemployment itself is a huge problem and also the period that the
worker has been unemployed either highly experienced or low experienced can also have its own
effects of finding and getting accepted to work again. Launching off with lack of available jobs, the

The Dividing Lien of Plato s Allegory of the Cave Essay
Plato s allegory of the cave, located in Book VII of The Republic is one of the most famous allegories
in which he has created. This simile touches base on a number of philosophical ideas which Plato
developed over the progression of The Republic (Plato, G.M.A Grube, 1993), the most noticeable
being the dividing line. The dividing line is the point between the world of ideas where we live and
the world of the forms which is in the heavens. This allegory of the cave helps people understand the
theory on which philosophy is based. It is also in this Book where the education of the guardians is
outlined. We are asked in Book VII of The Republic to imagine a group of people sitting inside a cave,
with their hands and feet bound. It is by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the prisoner turns his head towards the light of the fire his eyes hurt him and he is confused
because he is unable to see the objects of the shadows he had been subjected to his entire life. It is
because of this pain and confusion that the prisoner wishes to return to the life that he is accustomed
to, and the reality he knows, the world of the shadows. We are asked to envision the stubbornness
displayed by this prisoner to leave the world of the shadows, a stubbornness which causes him to be
dragged into the sunlight. Upon seeing the light of the sun the prisoner is temporarily blinded, unable
to see anything around him, blinding him more than when he was a prisoner of the cave. Eventually
the prisoner s vision adjusts and he is able to see more clearly. His mind will first be able to recognize
the shadows, then moving on to reflections of objects in the water, and lastly the objects themselves.
This new sight leads the prisoner to question the colours and objects around him. He questions what it
is that causes him to being able to see all the things he can, compared to only seeing poor reflections
of objects in the cave. The prisoner eventually concludes that it is the sun which illuminates all around
him and is the source of his sight. This now knowledgeable individual remembers the others who are
still trapped in the cave ignorant to the wonders which lay outside of it. He considers him self lucky to

Internet Source Most frequently used search engine for this unit was Google as it is quite obvious but I also tried to use other search engines which I am not that familiar to such as Bing, Ask Jeeves, Dogpile, Answers, MSN Search, Yahoo and AOL. I also had the facility to screen print, copy the main points and get the images instantly so that I could show it as my reference. Non internet sources was also very useful to find the information but I had to spend more time while researching as I had to flick through many pages just to find the article about the laptops and the information that I gained were all very limited. The possible improvement would be that if I tried researching more using the non internet sources by talking with the technology experts etc. There were many dates that I had come across during the research of the pull out section. In order to check that if the dates were correct I looked into many different search engines which showed that the dated that I obtained were accurate. Some of my mother s paternal ancestors immigrated from Spain to France before immigrating to Canada, and others were Aboriginal Canadians. French Canadian is not a nationality that I identify with, but it is the culture that has impacted my life the most, outside of American culture. Out of my six Quebecois great grandparents only my maternal great grandmother is known to be of an aboriginal background. All of my other great grandparents immigrated to or colonized Canada. There is little known about my great grandmother s history, except that she moved to North Adams, Massachusetts from Quebec and married my great grandfather in her early teens. The first nations of Canada, prior to the landing of Europeans, were divided into six major geographical groups. My great grandmother s ancestors most likely belonged to the Iroquoian first nations. The Iroquois people were not nomadic and had a complex system of democratic government. Very often there were false convictions expressed by people even if their preconceptions reflected their own natural goals. I personally believe that Epicurus was more an idealist than a realist. He obviously stated that there are gods a statement that could easily describe him as a realist but the fact that he encouraged people to construct the conception of god and that their true nature, lifestyle and way of thinking were completely unknown to people compel me to believe that Epicurus was idealist and gods were merely thought constructs articulating people s unrealistic view of the life they desired. Philodemus mentioned that Epicurus involved himself in all the traditional festival and sacrifices . Hollywood and mainstream media have also began depicting, rather explicitly, male genitalia often enlarged using padding and photoshop (Bordo, 168). Directly behind my house were the woods, a ceaseless amount of trees, brush, and bugs. After walking and exploring for a few minutes, the trees eventually diverge and there is a humongous downhill path. My bestfriend and I saw this hill has a great opportunity; soon, we had a mission to build ramps so we could jump over a monstrous brush pile at the bottom of the hill. We spent plenty of time seeking action and trouble as the adrenaline junkie kids we were. Nevertheless, living in a small town means you have plenty of boundaries and a finite number of opportunities. For this reason we soon grew bored of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. How To Quit Crutcher Based on my experience with facing difficult decisions, I recommend Crutcher s Running Loose for young readers who are dealing with similar issues. Running Loose is a novel that deals with Louie having to face big decisions that is hard for him especially since he is having to face them at such a stressful time in his life. The novel is relevant for today s young readers because in teenagers everyday lives they struggle with facing big decisions all around them whether they know it or not. An example from my personal experience would be one day when I was sitting in the bland walled, loud, dirty cafeteria eating lunch, as any normal teenager seems to do in high school, my friends and I were laughing and cutting jokes at one another. We were having such a wonderful time that we neglected to notice that a student who happened to be one of our peers seemed to be looking down at his food, sad, lonely, and needing comfort. By the time we saw the student sitting all alone it felt it might have been all too late to ask if we should go sit with him. With the heart that I have, I felt so sorry for the boy sitting alone, knowing that he was probably getting picked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Facing a big decision just as Louie did, is horrifying and may not always turn out as you expect, but gets you further than I would have ever thought. This challenges all students to face a big decision because most of the time there is a positive outcome but most every teenager can relate to what not only Louie but I also went ... • 32. What Defines Human Nature And The Hierarchy Of Human... What defines human nature and the hierarchy of human relations? In this paper, I will argue that Beauvoir s view that society constructs man, maleness, and the masculine as the human standard (rendering woman, femaleness, and the feminine deviant and defective) is flawed. Although Beauvoir s evidence was compelling I had several issues with some of the finer details such as what term designates a human being, that a woman s body is considered disadvantaged, and that female nature is defective. I also disagree with her statement that woman can t think of herself without man, woman is only a symbol of sex to man, and that man and woman are the Self and the Other. Firstly, Beauvoir argues that man represents the positive and the neutral while woman represents only the negative. I feel that this statement is saying that woman is only what man are not. By making this assumption I infer that Beauvoir feels woman is only considered when man has reached the limits of their reach. However, I believe that man the line separating man and woman is inconclusive in its stance. When looking at what is considered masculine and what is considered feminine, there are some relatable similarities. For example, the work ethic of a man at work is similar to the work ethic of a woman at home. A man would be expected to complete his work load in a proficient manner and bring home money to the family. A woman would be expected to care for the family and the home in a proficient and timely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While some attempt to justify the United States actions during the Cold War as necessary to preserving freedom and the American way of life through the containment of the Soviet threat, there are just as many critics on the other side of the debate that have argued that, America used the Cold War as a veil under which it expanded it s influence and power throughout the world. Examine some of the key principles of the argument for the existence of God based upon religious experiences Religious experiences are experiences we have of the divine or God. These experiences may be Mystical experiences, conversion experiences or revelatory experiences. Paul Tillich states that religious experience is a feeling of ultimate concern , a feeling that demands a decisive decision from the one receiving it. He describes it as an encounter followed by a special understanding of its religious significance. The argument for religious experiences is based on 3 premises. Premise one states that the experience of X indicates the reality of X. One problem with this premise is that the experience of X does not always indicate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problems with premise three can also be highlighted by looking at the religious experience of Mosses when he saw God in the burning bush. When God came to him, Mosses had just killed a man and run away into the desert. Therefore he could be experiencing extreme guilt which could cause him to have an illusion. Also if he is in the desert then he was most likely dehydrated which again could cause an illusion. Therefore other factors may be used to explain religious experiences. Another example to support premise three, and one that addresses the problem of the subjective nature of religious experiences, is corporate religious experiences. This is when large numbers of people all have the same religious experience at the same time. The fact that they are experienced by many leads to the fact that they can be objectively tested and the accounts validated adding further support for the argument. Those that argue that religious experiences are proof of the existence of God usually argue inductively. This means that they look at the subjective testimonies of individuals who claim to have had religious experiences in order to find similar characteristics and then draw the general conclusion that the experiences can only be explained in terms of the existence of God. For example Swinburne argued inductively supporting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the most impressive things about the Sistine chapel and one of the most famous works of art in history is Michelangelo s painting on the ceiling of the chapel. The project was completed using fresco. In 1508 Michelangelo was requested by Pope Julius II to repaint the chapel. The Chapel at the time was painted with a blue sky and gold stars. Pope Julius II original request was to have the chapel painted with the twelve Christian Apostles and when the project was completed Michelangelo had created more than 3,000 figures. The first challenge and maybe the easiest for Michelangelo to overcome was the fact that he had no experience painting with fresco and he considered himself a sculptor. The next challenge was the sheer size of the painting at a whopping 14 meters by 40.5 meters. That is more than 132 square meters larger than a basketball court. Completing this large of painting was a monumental task enough even without all the other challenges faced by Michelangelo. Michelangelo accepted this commission regardless and would continue to face many more challenges over the next four years. One of the most obvious challenges that stood in the way of completing this challenging work of art was the fact that it was the ceiling that needed to be painted.
